The Movement Of The Middle East
Some examples of prominent ex Nazi members who escaped to the middle east are as follows. Franz
Rademacher was a Nazi aide under Secretary of state Luther. Rademacher fled to Spain and then
Damascus, Syria where he worked in foreign trade. Walter Rauff was responsible for the development
of mobile gas vans. Fled to Damascus in 1947, and worked over 47 ex Nazis to reorganize Syrian
intelligence. A third example is Alois Brunner. Brunner was Eichmann s right hand man and was
responsible for the deportation and death of 100,000 European Jew s. After being sentenced to death
by a French tribunal, Brunner escaped to Egypt, and then on the advice of Al Husaini went to Syria,
where he worked for Syrian intelligence. Brunner lives to this day in Syria, under the protection of
around the clock Syrian body guards.
The reason that the Arab state protected ex Nazi war criminals was because of a desire to rebuild the
radical Islamist movement that Al Husaini and his associates had created prior to the war. These Nazis
became the basis of this radical Arab movement that dominates the Muslim groups of today. In
contrast to Germany, Middle eastern Moderate leaders in opposition to Al Husaini and the axis powers

What Is The Theme Of Romanticism In Giselle Ou Les Willise
The ballet Giselle ou Les Willis was premiered at the Paris Opera on the 28th of June, 1841. The ballet
follows the protagonist Giselle an innocent peasant who falls in love with Albrecht the Duke of
Silesia, passing as a villager. When Giselle uncovers the truth behind Albrecht deceits she dies of a
broken heart and is transformed into a Willi, a supernatural being that has been left at the alter. Giselle
was created in the period known as the Romantic Era, which was named due to the influence of
romanticism throughout Europe in the 1800s. The development of modern Europe begun between the
1780s and 1849 which was an economic transformation that set the first stages of the great Industrial
Revolution. This period created changes that can be seen throughout the ballet Giselle with alterations
to costuming and theatrical innovations, which changed how the public perceived dance. Themes
symbolic of the time were generated and brought depth and emotion to previous one dimensional
storylines, as well as the development of how the roles of men and women in dance went against the
way of society.
Throughout the Romantic period the ideas of Romanticism in art and literature influenced the creation
of ballets. During this period ballets explored similar key themes of betrayal, love and a spiritual
connection between the living and dead, in which these themes reflected society at the time.
Throughout the romantic period society were facing hardship in which they looked to the

causes Netflix to have to become extremely innovative and create different ways to stay on top in the

Nursing Philosophy Research Paper
For us to talk about nursing philosophy, I believe that one must first decide what philosophy means to
them. There is not one clear definition of philosophy, but according to the American Heritage
Dictionary of the English language (2000), philosophy is an underlying theory or set of ideas relating
to a particular field of activity or to life as a whole. I believe this definition ties with my nursing
philosophy, because every nurse has different ideas of their own. Therefore, my nursing philosophy is
to provide holistic patient centered care, to deliver compassionate care and to care for my patient with
the best of my ability using all my knowledge, I believe that education plays a significant role in my
philosophy. Continued education gives me more knowledge, which allows me to provide better care
every day. Nurses need to use that knowledge to help those who are unable to help themselves. ...

Each person needs to be treated as an individual, not a room number or any disease. They should
receive care, with disregard to background, beliefs, or sexual orientation. I also believe that as a
patient, she/he has the right to participate in their own care. Whichever goal they have a nurse should
help achieve that goal. Whether the goal is quality of life or dignity of death, a nurse should be there to
advocate for the patient. My perspective on the environment, is that even though nursing focuses on
human beings, we also need to look at the environment in which he/she lives. The community can be a
large community or a small community, but at the end of the day community influence the patients.
Society should be able to trust the healthcare provider to deliver care, at any time. A nurse should

The True Cost Of High School Dropouts Summary
What is the True Cost: High School Dropouts and their Effect
In today s society it has become even more crucial to obtain knowledge and graduate from high
school. In the article The True Cost of High School Dropouts Henry M. Levin and Cecilia E. Rouse
explain that the dropout rate imposes a heavy cost on the economy. Henry M. Levin is a professor of
economics and education at Columbia University. Cecilia E. Rouse is a professor of economics and
public affairs at Princeton University. She also was a member of President Obama s Council of
Economic Advisers from 2009 to 2011. This article was found on The New York Times and was
published Jan. 25th, 2012. They begin with stating the facts and giving sources to build credibility.
They then go into what is being done wrong and what needs to be done in order to improve.
In their article, Levin and Rouse say that in the United states the dropout rate has fallen since the
1970s. They state that programs should be enforced to promote dropout prevention. While these
programs may be expensive, more high school graduates benefit the economy in the long run.
Throughout their article, statistics are given. This shows that Levin and Rouse have researched the
topic. For example, they state that only 21 states make it mandatory for students to attend high school
until they graduate or turn 18. Also, they say that only 7 out of 10 freshman will get high school
diplomas. This is shocking, being that an education is the foundation of

Vietnam War I And World War II
Vietnam War POL 128 Essay The Vietnam War is a war that took place in Vietnam. The war was a
particularly interesting war because it resulted in a previous unheard of result: the United States of
America outright losing a war. This war was a war that was symbolic of one between democracy
(good) and communism (bad). Vietnam was and still is a country that is run through communist rule.
At the time, there was a democratic minority and this group was funded by other countries that were
currently democratic. The United States in particular saw this as an opportunity to help Vietnam
become a more democratic state. The Vietnam War and the tactics used in it were not something that
the Americans were used to dealing with. In World War I and World War II, the United States started
off as being a neutral party in the two wars. However, the bombing of Pearl Harbor resulted in not
only the involvement of the United States, but it also resulted in the end of the war, with United States
proving to be the biggest factor in the ending of the war. As a result, the United States were seen as a
world superpower, not only from an economic point of view but from a military point of view as well.
This image that the United States prided itself in and also the view that democracy is the superior form
of government was not well supported because the Vietnam War saw the victory going to the
communist party, symbolizing the superiority of communism. In relation to film, and specifically

Essay about The Role of Loneliness in James Joyce s Ulysses
The Role of Loneliness in James Joyce s Ulysses
Have you ever had one of those days when the world seems cold and unfeeling? Where the people that
surround you are far away and uncaring? Ulysses is about one of those days, and two people who are
stuck within it, searching desperately for a way out. Loneliness runs like a thread through Ulysses, a
novel by James Joyce. It constantly tugs at the character s minds, and drives their lives in subtle ways.
Joyce drives the point home by giving a drab, grey description of the character s lives.
Ulysses is set in 1904, Dublin, Ireland. Joyce s book was first published in 1922. The plot of Ulysses
is fairly simple. The novel re creates the days of two Irishmen, Leopold Bloom, the main ... Show

Harriet Tubman s Journeys In The Film The Power Of Good
According to the Cambridge English Dictionary, a rescuer is a person that saves someone or
something from a dangerous, harmful, or difficult situation. In the documentary, The Power of Good,
Nicholas Winton, a British humanitarian, organized the transport and rescue of Jewish children from
Czechoslovakia right before World War II. This operation was later known as the Czech
Kindertransport. Another historical figure who saved people from harm was Harriet Tubman, an
African American abolitionist who led enslaved people to freedom along the Underground Railroad, a
vast network of meeting places, secret routes, passageways and safe houses used by slaves in the U.S.
to escape bondage. Although Harriet Tubman and Nicholas Winton are both historical ... Show more

Rather than staying in the safety of the North, Tubman made it her mission to rescue other slaves from
bondage. However, in 1850, the Fugitive Slave Law was passed that stated that escaped slaves could
be captured in the North and be returned to slavery. This made Tubman re routed the Underground
Railroad to Canada, which prohibited slavery. These journeys were usually during the winter months
to minimize the likelihood of being seen. Tubman also carried a rifle for protection and to ensure that
her escapees would not lose their nerve. From 1850 to 1860, Tubman rescued an estimated 70 slaves
in thirteen expeditions and gave an additional 50 to 60 fugitives successful instructions on how to
escape, earning her the nickname the Moses of the Underground Railroad. Nicholas Winton s rescue
missions were very different than those of Harriet Tubman. In December 1938, Winton visited a friend
who was working with primarily Jewish, Czechoslovakian refugees in Sudetenland, the western area
of Czechoslovakia under German control, when he heard that there were no organizations to deal with
refugee children. He began writing letters asking governments to help these children, but only Britain
and Sweden agreed to support him. Winton, along with some volunteers, forged travel documents,
arranged foster parents for the children, and paid out of pocket for the transportation. The children
boarded trains from Prague, Czechoslovakia across Germany to the Atlantic Coast. Then, they were
transported across the English Channel to Britain where foster parents waited to pick up the children.
After the children arrived in Britain, Winton had no contact with them. His rescue efforts ended on
September 1, 1939, after Germany invaded Poland and closed off all borders under German control,
starting World War II. In total, Winton managed to orchestrate eight transports and saved

Red Giants Research Paper
Nolan Harris
Red Giants
Red giants are dying stars that are in their last part of stellar evolution. Every star will eventually turn
into a red giant over some point in time. Stars turn into red giants when there is no more hydrogen fuel
for the star. Inside of a star, hydrogen goes through a process called nuclear fusion where hydrogen is
getting converted into helium. Nuclear fusion helps create energy for the star so that the force of
gravity isn t crushing the star together. This is also the reason why stars are bright. When the star runs
out of hydrogen to convert into helium, the energy that kept the star from collapsing is now gone.
Gravity then takes over and compresses the star. From this point, the helium atoms are able to
combine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are very luminous stars that have a relatively cool surface temperature compared to the stars in
the main sequence that have about the same luminosity. Red giants typically have low to intermediate
mass than a regular star, even though they are about 1000 times larger in the red giant phase of stellar
evolution. Red supergiants are known as the biggest stars by radius. The biggest red supergiant is
mentioned as VY Canis Majoris. This star is about 1800 times bigger than our sun. Although there are
plenty of red giants in space, none of them are that close to us. The closest red giant is Gamma Crucis
(88 light years away).3
We do not have to worry about the world ending due to the sun becoming a red giant anytime in our
lifetime, but plenty of them are out there. Red giants are a very interesting part in stellar evolution as
we have gained lots of knowledge about them over history. Our knowledge of these stars helps us
understand stars and their stellar evolution that much more.

Shakespeare s Use Of Metatheatre In Hamlet
Metatheatricality in William Shakespeare s Hamlet
There play within a play is a dramatic device used by Shakespeare to explore the human psyche s
ability to manoeuvre and manipulate by staging performances . Shakespeare premises the entire drama
upon the ghost s revelation of the happenings of the murder and Hamlet engages in a facade in order
to grapple with this reality. The overt presence of metatheatre especially with the enacting of The
Murder of Gonzago and in Hamlet s feigning of lunacy, endeavours to reason with and validate
Hamlet s psychological ongoings but does so with underlying irony. Shakespeare, in my opinion, hints
at the futility of such drastic pretence and enactment with the use tragic irony that concludes the play.

From a psychological point of view, feigned madness can be grounds on which Hamlet s future
actions can be legitimised, if not at least be accounted for. To commit a murder for the purpose of
revenge, on the basis of a spirit s account would seem rather absurd but by proclaiming madness, the
entire prospect is more believable and by that extension, validates the possibility of such an account.
More importantly, Proser argues that Hamlet s barrage of incoherencies
(transparent to us, opaque to them) acts as a smoke screen for his own soliloquized plot hatching (
Proser 340 ). In a sense, the artifice of madness can assist as a deceptive tool while Hamlet struggles
internally to resolve the moral quandary of vengeance and seeks to confirm the truth behind the King s
murder. Although Polonius incorrectly attributes
Hamlet s madness to Ophelia s love, his detection that Though this be madness, yet there is method in

The Pipe Ceremony is used for many different rituals and is used throughout many different tribes.
Most of the rituals pertain to the Native American s spiritual beliefs/religion, although some are for

pipes used are considered to be sacred items. Every aspect of the ceremony down to the way the pipe

people think that it should be banned to protect these high schoolers. That would be denying these

the 10th anniversary of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) rebellion with song and

created five organizational centers (caracoles) and established Juntas of Good Government in each of

legislation, and local and national scrutiny.
The Mexican government has faced legal and practical restraints on launching an all out war on the

jungles of Chiapas, made overt military action politically and tactically unviable. The EZLN?s
national popularity and visibility also guaranteed its survival. Though the Mexican government

Thanksgiving Is A Holiday Of Many Interpretations Essay
It is no secret that Thanksgiving is a holiday of many interpretations. Depending on which interest
group is being asked, this day of observance can be accompanied by negative or positive connotations.
According to its Google definition, Thanksgiving is an annual national holiday marked by religious
observances and a traditional meal including turkey. Thanksgiving, as described in textbooks across
the country, is a national holiday which came to be in Plymouth, Massachusetts during the year of
1621. In its prime, Thanksgiving has been described as a three day festival of eating, hunting, and
other entertainment in honor of the pilgrims first successful harvest, (History). What history textbooks
around the world do not tell you is that these are only miniscule details regarding what the holiday
actually commemorates. According to numerous sources, Thanksgiving has been given a negative
reputation for laying the foundation of Native American suffering. A short film published by WatchCut

Some of their answers include sadness , lies , inaccuracy , and colonization , though some voice that

Capssaicin Research Paper
Capsaicin is a chemical that is found in chili peppers which causes the heat when you eat spicy foods.
In order to detect the capsaicin that is found in the foods that you eat, your body has receptors on
sensory neurons. The receptors are known as capsaicin receptors and found in the dendrites of the
sensory neurons better known as nociceptors. (Caterina) When your body receives that feeling of pain
or heat, it is due to capsaicin receptor recognizing capsaicin, but also the ability of the capsaicin
receptor to act as an ion channel, which is found in a category known as the transient receptor
potential channels. (Fox) Capsaicin will stimulate and excite the capsaicin receptor. When the receptor
is excited it allows the entrance of Calcium (Ca+2) and Sodium (Na+). (Fox) When the calcium and
sodium rush into the cell it will cause the cell to depolarize. Once the cell depolarizes, it will cause the
action potential. The action ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Comparative Essay On Who s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf
Researching Edward Albee s scandalous play Who s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (1962), my case study
will focus on the adaptation from stage to film, outlining the issues faced with both the original artists
and my own group as artists. This specific piece of work from playwright Edward Albee is arguably
the best American play of the 1960s (Leff 1981, p. 453), which encouraged Warner Brothers to gain
the screen rights and recreate it as a film starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. On Broadway,
Albee s play had been critized for its lack of clarity (Leff 1981, p. 456) however, when creating the
film adaptation, Ernest Lehman, Jack Warner and Mike Nichols faced other issues regarding the

In developing Albee s scandalous play to a famous and shocking black and white feature film, the
studio boss, Jack Warner, was adamant that the film adaptation being created kept the honesty and
integrity that the play held. This led to the filmmaker s conclusion to use Albee s original play of Who
s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (1962) as the screenplay for the film, allowing for the recreation to be
faithful to its counterpart. The decision made to try and stay true to Albee s play revealed that it wasn t
a straightforward task for the filmmakers as there were a process of seven major drafts written as
Warner strove to give the work both a visual and verbal texture (Leff 1981, p. 453). However, it wasn t
only Warner who insisted on reproducing the original play as best that they were able to as Mike
Nichols discussed that to him Albee s text was sacrosanct (Leff

Jackie Robinson Influence
One of baseball s greatest, Jackie Robinson, once said, A life is not important except in the impact it
has on other lives. Jackie Robinson was the first African American man to play in the Major League
Baseball. Jackie Robinson played for the Brooklyn Dodgers throughout his baseball career as number
42. The great baseball player was faced with many acts of racism, but through it all he continued to
play the game he loved. This is the story of Jackie Robinson, the first African American man to play in
the MLB.
Jackie Robinson was born on January 31, 1919 in Cairo, Georgia. He was the youngest out of five
siblings, Mack Robinson, Willa Mae Robinson, Edgar Robinson, and Frank Robinson. Jackie
Robinson attended John Muir High School, Pasadena Junior College, and UCLA. At UCLA, Jackie
Robinson won varsity letters in four different sports baseball, football, track and field, and basketball.
One major influence that Jackie Robinson had in his life was Branch Rickey, the former president of
the Dodgers. Branch Rickey was a big influence because he is the one that brought Jackie into the
MLB, and he was there for Jackie when he faced racism. Throughout his life, Jackie Robinson s main
hardship was racism. During his time period, segregation was something that burdened every African
American. Even once he was in the MLB he would receive racism from even his own teammates. He
even received things like death threats. Jackie Robinson is respected because throughout all this he

Pride and Prejudice and A Midsummer Night s Dream
First Impressions Revisited
The course of true love never did run smooth.
William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night s Dream
Pride and Prejudice first appeared between 1796 and 1797 under the title, First Impressions . At first,
the novel was written anonymously; however, after Jane Austen s death, the novel became publicly
known to people. The novel itself is a comedy of manners set in a quiet and charming rural England,
between 1796 and 1813; to be exact, Pride and Prejudice is set amidst Napoleonic Wars, dating from
1797 up to 1815. In Austen s words, the novel was light and bright and sparkling . The quote from

Darcy, the antagonist turned protagonist in the novel. His pride blinds his judgment of people. Darcy
judges people through their manners hence, because of his dislike in Elizabeth s family manners; he
separated Charles and Jane away from each other, leaving Elizabeth s sister heartbroken. Austen s
books are written with satirical humor best represented by Mr. Collins and Lady Catherine de Bourgh.
Mr. Collins is a comical and pompous, snobbish clergyman living at Hunsford parsonage near
Rosings, the home of Lady Catherine de Bourgh. According to the English law, since Mr. Bennet had
no male children to inherit the state, Mr. Collins is the rightful heir of the estate since he is a distant
relative of Mr. Bennet. Mr. Collins is a funny character in the novel due to his extremely long
speeches and silly formalities of no clear meaning. He is very proud of Lady Catherine and her
generosity in giving him the Hunsford parsonage.
A fortunate chance had recommended him to Lady Catherine de Bourgh when the living of Hunsford
was vacant; and the respect which he had felt for her high rank, and his veneration for her as his
patroness, mingling with very good opinion of himself and his authority as a clergyman, made him
altogether a mixture of pride and obsequiousness, self importance and humility. (Austen and Jennings
67) Mr. Collins long speeches do not represent the truth in general; it is his only means of making
people admire him.

We Needs Energy For A Successful Existence Essay
Introduction
The humanity needs energy for a successful existence. However, the amount of fossil fuel is
decreasing every day. Proved global reserves of oil and gas, at current rates of consumption, would be
adequate to meet demand for another 40 and 60 years, respectively. Moreover, using of traditional
sources of energy causes the greenhouse gases emission. These gases keep heat energy of
electromagnetic waves at lower atmosphere. The process that produces this difference between the
actual surface temperature and the effective temperature is due to the atmosphere and is known as the
greenhouse effect.
One of the main consumers of fossil fuel and source of the greenhouse gases is buildings. The solution
of this problem is upgrade our houses; make them smarter, environmentally friendly and effective.
Moreover, the smart homes will have many devices, which will replace the big part of routine tasks,
and life of people will be much easier. (Stephene S. Intille, 2006). Governments support the building
of eco buildings, because they emit less carbon dioxide. For example, in the UK it planned to reduce
emissions by 2050 (DECC 2011, 30). Moreover, building of eco houses will improve IT and
alternative energy technologies. This paper will argue that building of eco houses is the best way of
future architecture and building technologies.
At this research project, I used basic criteria. First of them is economic benefits for average income
people. Second criteria is the degree of

Tragedy Commons

In the first reading which is called Tragedy of the Commons, written by Garrett Harden, the author
Harden talks about the problems of the public goods and some solutions as well. The author basically
insists that there are no technical solutions for the problems caused by overpopulation. He also gives
some examples of the tragedy of the commons and the reasons why these problems cannot be
overcome. He mentioned about the appearance of the atomic resources which is considered as an
infinite resource, and he says that people usually tend to consider this infinite resources as a solution
of the problem of overpopulation. However, the author claims that the infinite resources is ... Show

First of all, he explains that the difference between public goods and common pool resources. For
example, we can say that groundwater, grazing and trees are common pool resources. If a person uses
resource at once and gets benefits from it, the value of the resource becomes lower to the another
person. On the other hand, using of the public goods does not make lower the value of the resources
whoever uses it. He gives an unusual observations regarding Indian Village which has no clearly
defined social domain or institution separate from state authority. The author observed total of forty
one villages, and he found out that people in all of the villages share the goods and services very
effectively and evenly based on common property rights. The reason why this village could use
resources properly is that there are four main institutions; a village council, village standing fund,
village guards, and common irrigators; which have their own common property rights. These
institutions also have their own rights to do such as council organize the supply of the public goods, or
village guards protect crops from livestock etc. Also, all the services in this village except water
distribution are financed from the village standing fund. As a result, since these institutions have their
own common property rights, they cannot help but have responsibility to protect village properly.
Also, this well made common property rights of the village could protect total tragedy of the commons
as a result. Furthermore, the author gives another example about grazing in a village. For example, as
he mentions above, every single rational herdsman prefers to keep as many cattle as they can to make
higher benefits. To keep as many cattle as they can, they have to protect them by hiring

The Effects Of Music On People s Mood
Introduction
Listening to music can be an influence on people s mood. Sad music is able to make someone cry
whereas happy music does the opposite. Music can be defined as sound of vocal, instruments or
combined to form harmony and expression of emotion (Jackson, 2003). And also it can be classified
into two categories ; arousing and calm music. Arousing music is usually fast, rhythmic, or give a
sudden loud sound. However, calming music is usually slower, with a smooth melody, and not too
rhythmic (Ball, 2010). Research has proven that music is not only one form of entertainment, but also
is beneficial to a number of health including developing baby s brain and memory, lowering stress

Therefore, the hypothesis was supported in this study. However, the results were not significant
because there was only a slight change in heart rate; other extraneous variables such as movement of
participants would have caused it easily . The reason that results support the hypothesis is several
studies also show that when participants listen to arousing music, their breathing pattern and heart rate
will become rapid involuntarily. This is more obvious when observing trained musicians as their
breathing pattern and heart rate tends to synchronize with the rhythm of the music (Maqlione, 2006).
Arousing music has the effect of tensing muscles and high blood pressure because louder and faster
noises tend to raise both heart rate and blood pressure. In contrast, the rhythm of calm music can guide
the body into slower respiration and relaxation of muscles, lowering the heart rate(Turner Frey, 2005).
The findings of this investigation can be applied in the real world such as the medical field, calming
music can be a therapy to reduce people s stress. Studies have shown that cardiovascular patients
listening to calming music for 30 minutes had lower blood pressure, slower heart rates and less
distress than those who did not listen to music. In comparison, listen to arousing music may increase
the level of excitement(Music as medicine: the impact of healing

Back in the 1800s most waste that ships carried were dumped in our oceans without much thought.

Another major health risk that occurs when our oceans are being polluted is that the seafood becomes
contaminated with chemicals. Chemicals are beginning to move up the food chain and soon into our
plates. Research and studies show that plastic is absorbed by animals when it floats in waters and
when these innocent fish and marine life ingest these foods it is endangering the marine ecosystem as
a whole. Now that we know how it is affecting us how does it reach our oceans to start with? Some of
it does come from ships that are sailing by but 80% of it comes from land. Most storm drains have a
common end point which is into our oceans. And lets say Johnny is waking down the street and eating
a lollipop and he litters the wrapper. Next thing you know it rains and that wrapper is swept away with
the water and into the storm drain. That drain leads into our ocean and that plastic wrapper is going to
be floating for a very long time. These systems are all a cycle but the problem is the cycle is a one way
street and that trash you threw onto the street will never come back to the street but will stay in our
oceans killing marine life. We can t only blame the consumers for the things occurring in our world. If
less plastic packaging were used and more paper or glass packaging were used it would really benefit

Individualism In Modern Society
In modern culture, societal views on individuality are vastly effecting the new generation of people.
Individualism, emphasizes the ability for one s morals to be independent from society. Many who
express individuals tend to dismiss the status quo, as they recognize their self worth and the capability
to realize it is acceptable to be different. Meanwhile, others who may struggle to determine their
individualism, tend to struggle with figuring out who they are and why they are special in society.
Society creates sources of criteria that enables stereotypes that reducing one s ability to become an

to your peers around you. Although there are people who are accepted by society who express
enormous amounts of individualism, the overall impact of society tends to hinder one s role as an

For a newborn who has jaundice.
What is being tested?
This test measures the level of bilirubin in the body. Bilirubin is produced when red blood cells are
broken down. Normally, bilirubin is broken down in the liver and excreted as a component of bile.
However, when red blood cells are broken down more quickly than usual, or when there is a
dysfunction in how bile is excreted, bilirubin levels can become elevated. In newborns with jaundice,
elevated bilirubin levels may put the child at risk for brain damage.

Equal Rights Amendment
The Equal Rights Amendment, which was introduced in 1923, was a movement for women s rights
that ultimately lasted until 1982. The Equal Rights Amendment is discussed in our textbook, America,
A Concise Theory, on page 898. This particular site was chosen because it comes directly from the
website dedicated to the history of the Equal Rights Amendment. The amount of informative content
and photos was also a factor in choosing this website. Although there were several interesting facts in
the articles, three stuck out to me the most. The first interesting piece of information was the amount
of effort it took to allowing equal voting rights. In 1848, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and another woman,
Lucretia Motts, gathered over 300 people for a two day meeting to bring attention to the lack of
equality. After several resolutions were passed fairly easily, equality in voting still proved to be a
problem. Twenty four years later in 1972, Susan B. Anthony was arrested, convicted and fined for
trying to cast a ballot in the election. Stanton, Motts and Anthony all pioneered the way for women to
work towards equality in voting, but all died before they ever had a chance to cast their own votes.
The second interesting fact of the articles was how the 19th Amendment passed. At the start of the
20th century, the 19th Amendment, which is women s rights to vote, seemed to be making major
progress. More than half of the required states ratified the amendment within the first year,

The nature of humankind has been explored endlessly. Human...
The nature of humankind has been explored endlessly. Human nature is the strangest thing on earth.
Sometimes, some of them behave like they are the nicest and sometimes, at they are at their worst
behavior. Human nature depends solely on the circumstances around them. Some chose to remain
calm when they are in any trouble, but then at the same time, some chose to be aggressive. Some
changes themselves according to the environment around them, yet some just chose to be how they
are. Some chose to be themselves around people, yet some just don t have much guts to show real
them selves. Some like to be ruled yet some like to be a ruler. Every individual on this earth is
different from another. They behave, think, act, and speak ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obviously, if we are teaching someone something, then it really means that they don t know that stuff
and if they don t know how to behave then how could be all good and pure? That proves that they are
born evil and then it depends on them after that if they still chose to be evil or be good. Same is the
case with jack and most of the other guys. In this novel, golding William left the boys on their without
any parent guide to see if they will still be good but they turned out to be evil. That explains that we
are evil when we are born because till then there was no one to teach us the good things. We are only
good and nice, because there are people who teaches us and take care of our bad behavior if we will be
left alone with no adults, then we will learn no manners and we will remain evil and selfish. Jack
doesn t care what others have to say or what they have to do, he will just do what he thinks is right.
Throughout the novel, he always gave importance to his own work. For example, when he was
successful at hunting for the first time. Just to get the hunting done, he took all the boys with him, who
were watching the fire signal. He didn t care that the fire will go out which his chief didn t want to
happen. He just wanted to do hunting and be successful at it and it resulted in that ship came near the
island and was gone again just

Importance Of Odds In College Sports
With the college basketball season now just days away, time is running out for you to make your
preseason bets on some teams who may be flying under the radar headed into the season. Vegas
Insider has recently updated their list of college basketball futures on winning it all, and outside the
favorites there are several teams who may be considered as long shots from an odds standpoint, who
could surprise this season. These may not be the sexiest picks, but these long shots could pay out quite
favorably considering the odds are quite low. Indiana Hoosiers Odds to win national title: 32/1
Coming off a Big Ten regular season title, Tom Crean and the Hoosiers return one of the league s
rising stars in OG Anunoby, and also bring back James Blackmon Jr. and Thomas Bryant, the latter of
which may be the most dominant big men in the conference. Crean seems to over perform when
expectations are low, but after knocking off Kentucky in March last season, there is reason for
optimism in Bloomington. Even with Yogi Ferrell and Troy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Unfortunately, that s one of the only factors that remained the same in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines lost
three undergraduates to transfers over the summer, and the final remnants of the 2013 final four team,
Spike Albrecht and Caris LeVert, are out the door. Not only that, but John Beilein is also replacing
long time assistants who left for head coaching opportunities. The frontcourt should receive a boost
with Zack Irvin returning from a back injury that cost him his junior season. And Muhammad Ali
Abdur Rahkman is an exciting option at shooting guard, who should see an expanded role in LeVert s
stead. They could make some noise in March, but they need Derrick Walton Jr. to step up in his senior
season both as a distributor and more importantly as a consistent scoring threat. Oklahoma Sooners

Gorham Family Structure
Hello everyone, I live in Gorham Maine. The maps indicate that ACS 2013 in Gorham, has a total of
2,156 households with 1,176 of those to be married couples. Of those 539 households with married
couples have one or more children living at home under the age of 18 (Social Explorer, 2013). My
family household is myself, my husband of 23 years, and our 15 year old daughter. We have a 21 year
old daughter who lives on her own currently in Colorado. I think the changes in family has to do with
how families have changed to now recognize families of same sex couples. This is a huge leap from
the 1950 s model of a nuclear family of husband, wife, and their children (New York University
Department of Sociology, 2013). Society as a

Religious Freedom And Expression Across The World
Religion is one of the most sensitive issues and almost all people participate in some kind of religious
practice. Even though every religion encourages the idea of peace, tolerance, and acceptance almost
no person stays peaceful or tolerates anyone or anything when it comes to religious differences.
History is full of religious wars and some of them have continued for years and were the cause of
many of men, women, and children s deaths. The issue of religious freedom and expression across the
world has been apparent since the beginning of time and it seems as though these expressions have
separated many groups of people throughout history. Issues of religious confliction and persecution
has also been a major problem throughout the history of mankind. From Wars to genocide and slavery,
religion has been on the forefront of some of mankind s most disturbing moments and is commonly
used as a justification of such acts. These events have effected not only America but every country in
the world and every demographic across the globe. Throughout this paper many of these events will
be discussed in an attempt to open our eyes to how much religion really does separate us as a people.
As religious freedom in America began to develop the splintering of Christianity resulted in more than
900 denominations of that faith currently existing in the United States, of which the vast majority of
Americans are members. These Christian teachings though also led to one of America s biggest

Graham Hess s Faith In God
This movie is about a guy having to test his faith. Graham Hess had to believe in god again to save his
family. If graham didn t start to see all the signs god wad throwing him, then he wouldn t of been able
to save his family. The director made the movie like this so we could start seeing things differently.
This film is about graham testing his faith in god. Colleen, his wife, was in a car accident. She was
stuck between a truck and a tree, her body was literally in half. She should be dead but obviously god
kept her around so she could wait until graham came to say good bye. When graham came to say
goodbye she tells him things he is going to need to know the day the alien attacks. Throughout the
whole movie, Bo, his daughter had a problem ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Basically the kids are all of a sudden screaming while standing in the corn fields because
someone/something has made the corn go on the ground without ruining it, also it has made a couple
of crop circles around the world. So graham calls the cops, and the cops arrive 2 hours later. Graham
has a flashback of his wife being stuck between the car and tree. Knowing she is about to die. The
cops, and the family notice that the dog has been peeing inside the house, which means the dog is sick.
Dad goes into the cornfield with the cop to show her what had happen, when the come out of the
cornfield they notice the dog is laying on the floor with a pitchfork inside of his. Morgan tells graham
that the dog was trying to hurt Bo, so he defended her. The cops suggest that the family leaves town
because of everything that has happened. So they leave town to go get some pizza, but before they go
to get pizza, Merrill goes to the police station to talk to them and Morgan goes to a book store and
asks if they have any books about aliens, the lady tells him that don t sell any but the other day a alien
book came there for a odd reason. Morgan tries telling his dad that the aliens are coming, but graham
doesn t want to believe it because he doesn t think god would take his wife, then have them killed.
Morgan and Bo and Merrill convince dad that there are really aliens and the dad suggest they all have
their last supper . During the movie, the dad seen a leg in the cornfield but didn t think it was
anything, then he goes to a house and sees fingers and cuts off one. So now he thinks that Morgan is
right. Well the one alien that graham hurt is coming back for revenge. The family boards up the house
because they know the aliens are coming soon. Family eats there supper then the alien breaks in and
gets ahold of Morgan and sprays a gas on him, but since Morgan has asthma, it helped

Rademacher fled to Spain and then Damascus, Syria where he worked in foreign trade. Walter Rauff was responsible for the development of mobile gas vans. Fled to Damascus in 1947, and worked over 47 ex Nazis to reorganize Syrian intelligence. A third example is Alois Brunner. Brunner was Eichmann s right hand man and was responsible for the deportation and death of 100,000 European Jew s. After being sentenced to death by a French tribunal, Brunner escaped to Egypt, and then on the advice of Al Husaini went to Syria, where he worked for Syrian intelligence. Brunner lives to this day in Syria, under the protection of around the clock Syrian body guards. The reason that the Arab state protected ex Nazi war criminals was because of a desire to rebuild the radical Islamist movement that Al Husaini and his associates had created prior to the war. These Nazis became the basis of this radical Arab movement that dominates the Muslim groups of today. In contrast to Germany, Middle eastern Moderate leaders in opposition to Al Husaini and the axis powers were driven from public life. characterized as both failures and collaborators with imperialism, The Arab state was cleansing itself of moderate populations, and in this way, it became, even more radicalized. Throughout the Romantic period the ideas of Romanticism in art and literature influenced the creation of ballets. • 7. Nursing Philosophy Research Paper For us to talk about nursing philosophy, I believe that one must first decide what philosophy means to them. There is not one clear definition of philosophy, but according to the American Heritage Dictionary of the English language (2000), philosophy is an underlying theory or set of ideas relating to a particular field of activity or to life as a whole. I believe this definition ties with my nursing philosophy, because every nurse has different ideas of their own. Therefore, my nursing philosophy is to provide holistic patient centered care, to deliver compassionate care and to care for my patient with the best of my ability using all my knowledge, I believe that education plays a significant role in my philosophy. My perspective on the environment, is that even though nursing focuses on human beings, we also need to look at the environment in which he/she lives. The True Cost Of High School Dropouts Summary What is the True Cost: High School Dropouts and their Effect In today s society it has become even more crucial to obtain knowledge and graduate from high school. In the article The True Cost of High School Dropouts Henry M. Levin and Cecilia E. Rouse explain that the dropout rate imposes a heavy cost on the economy. Henry M. Levin is a professor of economics and education at Columbia University. Cecilia E. Rouse is a professor of economics and public affairs at Princeton University. She also was a member of President Obama s Council of Economic Advisers from 2009 to 2011. This article was found on The New York Times and was published Jan. 25th, 2012. They begin with stating the facts and giving sources to build credibility. They then go into what is being done wrong and what needs to be done in order to improve. In their article, Levin and Rouse say that in the United states the dropout rate has fallen since the 1970s. They state that programs should be enforced to promote dropout prevention. While these programs may be expensive, more high school graduates benefit the economy in the long run. Throughout their article, statistics are given. This shows that Levin and Rouse have researched the topic. For example, they state that only 21 states make it mandatory for students to attend high school until they graduate or turn 18. The war was a particularly interesting war because it resulted in a previous unheard of result: the United States of America outright losing a war. This war was a war that was symbolic of one between democracy (good) and communism (bad). Vietnam was and still is a country that is run through communist rule. At the time, there was a democratic minority and this group was funded by other countries that were currently democratic. The United States in particular saw this as an opportunity to help Vietnam become a more democratic state. The Vietnam War and the tactics used in it were not something that the Americans were used to dealing with. In World War I and World War II, the United States started off as being a neutral party in the two wars. However, the bombing of Pearl Harbor resulted in not only the involvement of the United States, but it also resulted in the end of the war, with United States proving to be the biggest factor in the ending of the war. As a result, the United States were seen as a world superpower, not only from an economic point of view but from a military point of view as well. This image that the United States prided itself in and also the view that democracy is the superior form of government was not well supported because the Vietnam War saw the victory going to the communist party, symbolizing the superiority of communism. • 11. Harriet Tubman s Journeys In The Film The Power Of Good According to the Cambridge English Dictionary, a rescuer is a person that saves someone or something from a dangerous, harmful, or difficult situation. In the documentary, The Power of Good, Nicholas Winton, a British humanitarian, organized the transport and rescue of Jewish children from Czechoslovakia right before World War II. This operation was later known as the Czech Kindertransport. Another historical figure who saved people from harm was Harriet Tubman, an African American abolitionist who led enslaved people to freedom along the Underground Railroad, a vast network of meeting places, secret routes, passageways and safe houses used by slaves in the U.S. to escape bondage. This made Tubman re routed the Underground Railroad to Canada, which prohibited slavery. These journeys were usually during the winter months to minimize the likelihood of being seen. Tubman also carried a rifle for protection and to ensure that her escapees would not lose their nerve. From 1850 to 1860, Tubman rescued an estimated 70 slaves in thirteen expeditions and gave an additional 50 to 60 fugitives successful instructions on how to escape, earning her the nickname the Moses of the Underground Railroad. Nicholas Winton s rescue missions were very different than those of Harriet Tubman. In December 1938, Winton visited a friend who was working with primarily Jewish, Czechoslovakian refugees in Sudetenland, the western area of Czechoslovakia under German control, when he heard that there were no organizations to deal with refugee children. He began writing letters asking governments to help these children, but only Britain and Sweden agreed to support him. Winton, along with some volunteers, forged travel documents, arranged foster parents for the children, and paid out of pocket for the transportation. The children boarded trains from Prague, Czechoslovakia across Germany to the Atlantic Coast. Then, they were transported across the English Channel to Britain where foster parents waited to pick up the children. After the children arrived in Britain, Winton had no contact with them. His rescue efforts ended on September 1, 1939, after Germany invaded Poland and closed off all borders under German control, starting World War II. • 12. Red Giants Research Paper Nolan Harris Red Giants Red giants are dying stars that are in their last part of stellar evolution. Every star will eventually turn into a red giant over some point in time. Stars turn into red giants when there is no more hydrogen fuel for the star. Inside of a star, hydrogen goes through a process called nuclear fusion where hydrogen is getting converted into helium. Nuclear fusion helps create energy for the star so that the force of gravity isn t crushing the star together. This is also the reason why stars are bright. When the star runs out of hydrogen to convert into helium, the energy that kept the star from collapsing is now gone. Gravity then takes over and compresses the star. Shakespeare s Use Of Metatheatre In Hamlet Metatheatricality in William Shakespeare s Hamlet There play within a play is a dramatic device used by Shakespeare to explore the human psyche s ability to manoeuvre and manipulate by staging performances . Shakespeare premises the entire drama upon the ghost s revelation of the happenings of the murder and Hamlet engages in a facade in order to grapple with this reality. The overt presence of metatheatre especially with the enacting of The Murder of Gonzago and in Hamlet s feigning of lunacy, endeavours to reason with and validate Hamlet s psychological ongoings but does so with underlying irony. More importantly, Proser argues that Hamlet s barrage of incoherencies (transparent to us, opaque to them) acts as a smoke screen for his own soliloquized plot hatching ( Proser 340 ). In a sense, the artifice of madness can assist as a deceptive tool while Hamlet struggles internally to resolve the moral quandary of vengeance and seeks to confirm the truth behind the King s murder. Proved global reserves of oil and gas, at current rates of consumption, would be adequate to meet demand for another 40 and 60 years, respectively. Moreover, using of traditional sources of energy causes the greenhouse gases emission. These gases keep heat energy of electromagnetic waves at lower atmosphere. The process that produces this difference between the actual surface temperature and the effective temperature is due to the atmosphere and is known as the greenhouse effect. One of the main consumers of fossil fuel and source of the greenhouse gases is buildings. On the other hand, using of the public goods does not make lower the value of the resources whoever uses it. He gives an unusual observations regarding Indian Village which has no clearly defined social domain or institution separate from state authority. The author observed total of forty one villages, and he found out that people in all of the villages share the goods and services very effectively and evenly based on common property rights. The reason why this village could use resources properly is that there are four main institutions; a village council, village standing fund, village guards, and common irrigators; which have their own common property rights. These institutions also have their own rights to do such as council organize the supply of the public goods, or village guards protect crops from livestock etc. Also, all the services in this village except water distribution are financed from the village standing fund. This is more obvious when observing trained musicians as their breathing pattern and heart rate tends to synchronize with the rhythm of the music (Maqlione, 2006). Arousing music has the effect of tensing muscles and high blood pressure because louder and faster noises tend to raise both heart rate and blood pressure. In contrast, the rhythm of calm music can guide the body into slower respiration and relaxation of muscles, lowering the heart rate(Turner Frey, 2005). • 40. Equal Rights Amendment The Equal Rights Amendment, which was introduced in 1923, was a movement for women s rights that ultimately lasted until 1982. The Equal Rights Amendment is discussed in our textbook, America, A Concise Theory, on page 898. This particular site was chosen because it comes directly from the website dedicated to the history of the Equal Rights Amendment. The amount of informative content and photos was also a factor in choosing this website. Although there were several interesting facts in the articles, three stuck out to me the most. The first interesting piece of information was the amount of effort it took to allowing equal voting rights. In 1848, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and another woman, Lucretia Motts, gathered over 300 people for a two day meeting to bring attention to the lack of equality. After several resolutions were passed fairly easily, equality in voting still proved to be a problem. Twenty four years later in 1972, Susan B. Anthony was arrested, convicted and fined for trying to cast a ballot in the election. Stanton, Motts and Anthony all pioneered the way for women to work towards equality in voting, but all died before they ever had a chance to cast their own votes. The second interesting fact of the articles was how the 19th Amendment passed. At the start of the 20th century, the 19th Amendment, which is women s rights to vote, seemed to be making major progress. More than half of the required states ratified the amendment within the first year, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. The nature of humankind has been explored endlessly. Human... The nature of humankind has been explored endlessly. Human nature is the strangest thing on earth. Sometimes, some of them behave like they are the nicest and sometimes, at they are at their worst behavior. Human nature depends solely on the circumstances around them. Some chose to remain calm when they are in any trouble, but then at the same time, some chose to be aggressive. Some changes themselves according to the environment around them, yet some just chose to be how they are. Some chose to be themselves around people, yet some just don t have much guts to show real them selves. Some like to be ruled yet some like to be a ruler. Every individual on this earth is different from another. They behave, think, act, and speak ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Obviously, if we are teaching someone something, then it really means that they don t know that stuff and if they don t know how to behave then how could be all good and pure? That proves that they are born evil and then it depends on them after that if they still chose to be evil or be good. Same is the case with jack and most of the other guys. In this novel, golding William left the boys on their without any parent guide to see if they will still be good but they turned out to be evil. That explains that we are evil when we are born because till then there was no one to teach us the good things. We are only good and nice, because there are people who teaches us and take care of our bad behavior if we will be left alone with no adults, then we will learn no manners and we will remain evil and selfish. Jack doesn t care what others have to say or what they have to do, he will just do what he thinks is right. Throughout the novel, he always gave importance to his own work. For example, when he was successful at hunting for the first time. Just to get the hunting done, he took all the boys with him, who were watching the fire signal. He didn t care that the fire will go out which his chief didn t want to happen. He just wanted to do hunting and be successful at it and it resulted in that ship came near the island and was gone again just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Importance Of Odds In College Sports With the college basketball season now just days away, time is running out for you to make your preseason bets on some teams who may be flying under the radar headed into the season. Vegas Insider has recently updated their list of college basketball futures on winning it all, and outside the favorites there are several teams who may be considered as long shots from an odds standpoint, who could surprise this season. These may not be the sexiest picks, but these long shots could pay out quite favorably considering the odds are quite low. Indiana Hoosiers Odds to win national title: 32/1 Coming off a Big Ten regular season title, Tom Crean and the Hoosiers return one of the league s rising stars in OG Anunoby, and also bring back James Blackmon Jr. and Thomas Bryant, the latter of which may be the most dominant big men in the conference. Crean seems to over perform when expectations are low, but after knocking off Kentucky in March last season, there is reason for optimism in Bloomington. Even with Yogi Ferrell and Troy ... The Wolverines lost three undergraduates to transfers over the summer, and the final remnants of the 2013 final four team, Spike Albrecht and Caris LeVert, are out the door. Not only that, but John Beilein is also replacing long time assistants who left for head coaching opportunities. The frontcourt should receive a boost with Zack Irvin returning from a back injury that cost him his junior season. And Muhammad Ali Abdur Rahkman is an exciting option at shooting guard, who should see an expanded role in LeVert s stead. They could make some noise in March, but they need Derrick Walton Jr. to step up in his senior season both as a distributor and more importantly as a consistent scoring threat. • 43. Gorham Family Structure Hello everyone, I live in Gorham Maine. The maps indicate that ACS 2013 in Gorham, has a total of 2,156 households with 1,176 of those to be married couples. Of those 539 households with married couples have one or more children living at home under the age of 18 (Social Explorer, 2013). My family household is myself, my husband of 23 years, and our 15 year old daughter. We have a 21 year old daughter who lives on her own currently in Colorado. I think the changes in family has to do with how families have changed to now recognize families of same sex couples. This is a huge leap from the 1950 s model of a nuclear family of husband, wife, and their children (New York University Department of Sociology, 2013). Society as a ... • 44. Religious Freedom And Expression Across The World Religion is one of the most sensitive issues and almost all people participate in some kind of religious practice. Even though every religion encourages the idea of peace, tolerance, and acceptance almost no person stays peaceful or tolerates anyone or anything when it comes to religious differences. History is full of religious wars and some of them have continued for years and were the cause of many of men, women, and children s deaths. The issue of religious freedom and expression across the world has been apparent since the beginning of time and it seems as though these expressions have separated many groups of people throughout history. These events have effected not only America but every country in the world and every demographic across the globe. Throughout this paper many of these events will be discussed in an attempt to open our eyes to how much religion really does separate us as a people. As religious freedom in America began to develop the splintering of Christianity resulted in more than 900 denominations of that faith currently existing in the United States, of which the vast majority of Americans are members.
