Summer Heights High Paper
INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM
TO : Prof Thomas Mcquaid
FROM : Jackie Gonzalez
SUBJECT : Summer Heights High Project
DATE : February 28, 2014
Purpose: The purpose of this memo is to give detailed instructions on how to restructure the Austrian
television show Summer Heights High to be appropriate, relatable and relevant to American audiences
on the ABC Network.
Objectives:
Target Audience The target audience for the American adaptation of Summer Heights High is going to
to be male and females aged 20 34 that make up 20.9% of the total U.S. population, the penetration
size will be the Americans aged 25 29 that have a college bachelors degree and are mature enough for
certain types of references ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since The Voice is not a comedy and does not resonate highly with the same target audience it is not
seen as a direct threat. However, a new show on NBC will be coming on right after The Voice called
Revolution. The show may attract some of the same target audience but since it is not a comedy, those
that are looking for something much more comedic will turn to ABC.
FOX: On Monday nights at 9:00pm on FOX an hour long show called The Following comes on, it is
not a comedy but it does appeal to some of the same target audience. The show that comes on right
before The Following is Bones, which is another crime show. Research shows that our target audience
finds interest in the crime shows, therefore although Bones does not come on at the same time, it is
possible that the target audience will decide to watch one show over the other.
the CW: On Monday nights at 9:00pm on the CW the popular show 90210 comes on. The show is
popular among high school and early college students but also appeals to the target audience which
makes the CW s 90210 a direct competitor. Even though 90210 is not a comedy is has been around
for, going on, six seasons and has viewer loyalty.
Show Overview The American adaptation of Summer Heights High, to match the target audience and
to have independent brand awareness from the Australian version will be renamed to Summer Heights
U, U standing for university. It was decided to stick with the

Spectral Band Replication in Audio Coding
Spectral Band Replication (SBR) is a novel audio spectrum recovery technology, it can greatly
improve the efficiency of perceptual audio coding compression, and thus more suitable for streaming
media applications with limited bandwidth. It will be widely used in the world of digital broadcasting,
the third generation mobile communications, multimedia downloads, video on demand and other
services. SBR use parametric coding technique that involves complex algorithms; simply take a long
time by the hardware circuit design. And this design cannot keep up with the constant development of
audio standards. In other words: When a new standard integration into the decoder, it takes a long time
to complete the new circuit design, the original method will no longer have a market value. Be
achieved only using the software in power consumption and cost requirements are higher for portable
applications with limited competition. With the increasing complexity and diversity of multimedia
signal processing requirements, hardware and software co design concept has been widely applied to
the actual design. The two main reasons why Spectral Band Replication can fit our needs are: First,
SBR is capable of reproducing the high frequency band by using the correlation information which
transmitted along with the low frequency band. Therefore, we can save the bits which were reserved
for coding high frequency band without actually lost the high frequency signal. Second, it is more

Alexander The Great Personality
ALEXANDER THE GREAT A MEGALOMANIAC ROSANNY ESPINAL GREEK
CIVILAZATION MONTCLAIR STATE UNIVERSITY Alexander the Great was born in 356 B.C. in
Macedonia, Greece. Alexander was born into a royal family. Alexander the Great s father, Philip was
the King of Macedonia before he was and his mother was Olympias. When Alexander turned twenty
years old, his father was assassinated, and therefore he followed in his father s footsteps gaining
kingship and became the best king ever known to man. Ever since a young boy, Alexander dreamed of
having revenge over Persia. His plan was to defeat the Persians and conquer all the mountains all the
way up to India. Alexander has never lost a battle out of the thirteen years he reigned, compared to
other Greek generals before he has lost battles but not Alexander the Great. Alexander wanted to
create a big empire, he was motivated by spreading Greek law and Greek culture. Alexander was
obsessed with power wanting to conquer many countries, and the desire for more power was always
on his mind. His characteristics are that of a megalomaniac because Alexander didn t stop at Persia, he
wanted to conquer all the way up the eastern shore to the Mediterranean. Alexander wanted everyone
to just give up their homes, no matter where he went. He would tell them first to surrender their
power, and if they didn t he would do anything just to gain power. He either went as far as selling the
people into slavery or even massacring them.

Critically Evaluate the Value of Academic and Applied...
In the 21st Century, many problems face the people of today with academic and applied psychology
facing those problems. One of the main problems that people face today is the idea of Globalisation.
Globalisation is an ever growing process around the world, which has been an ever lasting process
throughout time and into the 21st century. Globalisation is described as a process of international
integration arising from the interchange of world views, products, ideas and other aspects of culture
(Al Rodhan 2006). Throughout time, Golbalisation has impacted everyone, from the changing face of
work (Occupational Psychology) through the Industrial Revolution to the more current Globalisation
of hand held devices, such as mobile phones. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea of cultural imperialism is supported by Ritzer s notion of McDonaldisation, as it shows the
western ideal of fast food being posed upon countries all over the world, slowly injecting the ideals of
the west into eastern cultures. However, Globalisation cannot be seen in just a negative light, as
through Globalisation, the face of work has changed since the 19th century, and even before that with
the Industrial Revolution. As outlined above, Globalisation can be seen negatively as it may force
people of a culture to accept another ideal, but the idea of Globalisation has also impacted on the
world positively, for example changing the face of work. Through Occupational Psychology (applied
psychology), the work place has implemented changes that has slowly started in the West and made its
way around the world so that people get fair treatment in the work place.
Since the Industrial Revolution, the workplace has changed from materials being hand made to people
now programming machines, lowering the risk and stress of the individual. From then, the workplace
has adapted further with machinery now being limited to factories for the building of cars, and more
office/computer based work now becoming the more prominent. This can be seen as a positive view
on Globalisation as it has reduced risks and stress (as outline before). A further notion is that the
workplace has now become more globalised, with

Andre Masson And Surrealism
Andre Masson was born January 4th, 1898 in Balagny sur Therain, France. At the age of eight he
moved to Brussels where he started studying art. In 1912, Masson moved back to France, but this time
to Paris where he continued his studies until the outbreak of World War one. During World War one,
Masson became part of the French infantry where he got seriously injured, and scarred emotionally.
After the war Masson moved to southern France until 1922, where he moved back to Paris to continue
working on his art. The art of Cubism had been what Masson was initially intrigued in, until 1924
where he joined the Surrealist movement, and remained a member for five years. The Surrealist
movement happened when a group of artists who saw a deep crisis ... Show more content on

Masson returned to France in 1937 and reconnected with the Surrealist movement. Once World War 2
had started, Masson became part of the first Surrealist group to reach the United states Continuing to
New York with Masson, he joined Ernst, whose new decalcomanias included Europe after the Rain
(1940 42;see ), as well as Matta, Seligmann, Tanguy and Kay Sage in a larger group of refugees. The
first Surrealist group show in the USA had taken place in 1931 2 at the Wadsworth Atheneum,
Hartford, CT, travelling to the Julien Levy Gallery, New York Masson had been part of the first
Surrealist group in the United states. This quote is important because Masson is taking his political
beliefs that had rapidly gained momentum in Europe, and trying to stretch those beliefs to the rest of
the world.
During the Interwar period, Andre Masson had been part of the Surrealist movement and this
influenced his artwork a lot. Before the Surrealist movement, Masson had been initially interested in
Cubism, an art form made famous by Pablo Picasso. Masson went from very generic art at the time, to
very unconventional art. For instance, one of his most famous paintings called battle of the fishes, and
it was painted in a very unorthodox manner.
In this painting Masson actually threw glue onto the canvas, and then after the sand had settled, he
threw sand onto the canvas. After what probably made a huge mess, he painted, and drew around

Tax Reform
The Tax system of the United States is in absolute disorder. Politicians on both sides, of the political
spectrum, agree that the tax system that we use today is complicated and expensive. In order to
completely understand the immense tax problems that are in this country, the current tax problems
must be first analyzed and explained, short terms solutions must be created and used as a temporary
answer for these problems, and finally long term solutions must be the permanent fix for the myriad of
the problems that are troubling this nation. The purpose of the government is to protect and serve the
people that live within the country s boundaries. In order to carry out this vital task the government
needs revenue from the same people it protects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To obtain long term solutions it is critical that the American government reshapes the tax code and
provides Americans a substantial amount of tax relief. The current tax code is too complicated, it
needs to be simplified. The way the current tax code is organized it seems that it someone needs an
advanced degree in order to effectively understand and complete it. Simplifying the tax code will be
beneficial to the average citizen and the government. This country needs to effectively increase the
economic developments within its boundaries. To allow substantial economic development this
government is absolutely necessary that this country put an end to corporate inversion. The biggest
factors that contribute to corporate inversion are the incredibly high tax rate of thirty five percent and
the decision by the American government to force a tax on company s income, regardless of their
location. By lowering the corporate tax rate and allowing to America to transition from an
international system to a more domestic one, corporate inversion will end which will add a enormous
amount money back into the American economy. These long term solutions will give America
permanent solutions to the horrible tax problems it faces

The Good Wife TV Show
Extra Credit I chose to analyze episode 21 (In Sickness) of Season 2 of The Good Wife TV show. In
this episode, a judge hears both sides on a liver transplant dispute between the hospital (defendant)
and the victim (plaintiff), represented by big firm attorneys. The plaintiff was allegedly wrongfully
removed from the top of the transplant list. The attorney for the hospital was then fired by her firm
during the trial. She proceeded to go to the big firm attorneys that were on her opposite side and ask
for them to be her attorneys, representing her in a wrongful discharge suit against her former law firm.

The rule on declining representation is represented by the big firm attorneys taking the fired attorney s
case on the wrongful discharge claim against her former law firm. Correct application of the rule
would have instead required that they decline to represent her because they took her as a client

conflicts and confidentiality). The rules on conflicts of interest and imputation of those conflicts are
represented by the big firm attorneys who took on the fired attorney s case (who was their opposition

Directed by Billy Wilder an Austrian born, American filmmaker of sixty films. The movie is almost 67
years old and when it was first released the movie was nominated for eleven Academy Awards, ranked
number twelve on the American Film Institutes list of the 100 best American films in 1998, and
worshipped by many critics. Although the movie was not released in my time, this classic has

Most actors do not continue making films one after another until they die but Norma could not get this
into her head. She spent years writing her script to return to the big screen and was set on that dream.
Since Norma was obsessed with the goal of filming again it led her to become foolish about how
famous she actually was and her terrible script. Also a scary realization of having a chance of ending

for actors after their acting days were over.
I recommend this film for anybody that is interested in movies with the genre drama. The film refers
to many references to past Hollywood and screenwriters, so it would help if you know a little bit of

Fleet Tracking Essay
X Fleet Tracking Tips To Increase Efficiency Profit
Fuel, maintenance and repair, and insurance costs are all expenses every fleet incurs. The fleet that
manages these costs the most efficiently has a competitive advantage, and will enjoy greater earnings.
Following are three fleet tracking tips to increase efficiency and profit.
Fuel
Fuel is the largest operating expense for fleets. Taking tight control of this expense can bring about
significant economic benefits. GPS tracking systems offer huge advantages to fleet managers because
they make fuel purchases, and use, transparent. Managers are able to view when and where fuel
purchases or made, and by whom. They can view reports that systematically display cost per mile, as

The optimized route details the most efficient, and cost effective course, and deviations from that
itinerary, generally reduce the profit of the load. Fleet management software can include the preferred
fuel stops into the route. Using complex algorithms, the program calculates how far off the route the
fuel stop is, while weighing in the cost of the fuel at that station. Refueling stops, that reflect the least
route departure, at the maximum cost savings, are part of the planned route the driver will follow. This
eliminates many of the deadhead miles that result in reaching an off course refueling station.
Driving Performance
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports that driver impact on fuel efficiency is, as much
as, 33%. GPS fleet management systems monitor driving behavior that waste fuel, such as hard
acceleration, excessive use of air conditioning, hard breaking, idling, and driving at inconsistent
speeds. These behaviors often improve when drivers become aware that they are being monitored,
however, fleet managers can trigger alerts for driving actions that are both unsafe, and wasteful of
fuel.
Preventative Maintenance and Repair
Maintenance and repair are the second largest operational expenses for fleets. Professionals advocate
that a rigorous regimen of preventative maintenance is essential for efficient and profitable fleet
management. Not only does preventative

Thereafter, several leaders of the movement were sentenced to long prison terms in late December,
and hundreds of others were sentenced to reeducation through labor. Late in the year, according to
some reports, the government started confining some Falun Gong adherents to psychiatric hospitals
(China Country Report on Human Rights Practices for 1999).
The government continued to commit widespread and well documented human rights abuses in
violation of internationally accepted terms. These abuses stemmed from the government s extremely
limited tolerance of public unrest. The Constitution and laws provide for fundamental human rights
however, these rights are often ignored in practice. Abuses included instances of extra judicial killings,
torture and mistreatment of prisoners, forced confessions, arbitrary arrest and detention, lengthy
incommunicado detention, and denial of due process(Amnesty International. China, violations of
human rights). Prison conditions at most facilities remained very harsh. In many cases, especially in
sensitive political cases, the judicial system denied criminal defendants basic legal safeguards and due
process of the law, merely because authorities attached higher priorities to maintaining public order
and suppressing political opposition than to enforcing the legal norms of the country (Amnesty
International. China, violations of human rights). The government infringed on citizens privacy rights.

Pet Shop Boys and Beauty Essay
Success amp; Jealousy in Beauty Beauty, written by Jane Martin in the mid nineteen hundreds, is an
ironic play about two successful women, Bethany and Carla. Both women were the same age yet
complete opposites. They also had completely different personalities and were unhappy with their
lives. Martin casted and characterized them this way to illustrate a few themes. The drama was mainly
centered on the theme that no one is ever happy unless they get their wishes granted. However, in
these two women s cases, getting what they wanted caused them to realize there is nothing wrong with
being different. These two themes can be seen through the two character s success, jealousy, and a

stereotype on beautiful by saying, it is the real deal. Carla gets discounts on makeup for no reason.
Parents treat beautiful children better and they even statistically get paid more. Beautiful people can
have sex any time, any place (736). Carla, confused, did not understand why Bethany wanted to be
just like her. Bethany hated Carla most of the time because of her beauty. This leads Carla to go on a
rant about beauty and why it is so difficult to live and be beautiful simultaneously. Carla tells Bethany
to be herself and she will have an amazing life. Bethany begs to differ and says, it is what everyone
wants to be. Money can only make you buy things. Beauty makes you the center of the entire
universe. All eyes are always on those individuals that are beautiful (736). Carla says, Bethany will
hate her life is she was beautiful. She would be miserable and unhappy (736). Bethany then pulls out a

about everything, which explains why she had no friends or a long relationship. Bethany wanted to be

One Word That Will Change Your Life Analysis
My book of choice was One Word That Will Change Your Life. My book discussed the importance of
choosing one word to have your life revolve around. The book primarily shared stories of people who
have used this philosophy. The reason the book emphasizes to only use one word instead of an
expression or sentence, which is commonly used as a new years resolution; most everyone makes a
new years resolution, but over 50 percent of resolution makers will fail by the end of January but
[m]ost resolutions are long forgotten by summer (Wiley 10). The reason is because unique sentences
do not occur in everyday life, thus making it very hard to keep your resolution because it is not at the
top of your mind. But when you choose one word you have a tendency to remember it much better
than you could any sentence because [o]ne [w]ord is sticky and memorable (Wiley 11). It is very
similar to buying a new car; once you buy your new car you begin to notice your car is everywhere
because it becomes personal and is at the top of your mind. Your one word works much like this!

Great Depression Homes
When the Great Depression Hit Home for All Homes The 1930s are remembered as hard times for
many American families. With the crash of the stock market many families from all over suffered to
survive on very little. Farmers found it hard to grow crops and earn money from them. City families
struggled to live on nothing and were without jobs. Hobos were homeless people who traveled the
railroads illegally to find jobs. Farm families, city families, and hobos each had to find ways to live
and survive during The Great Depression. During The Great Depression, farmers worked hard to
produce crops and livestock. Prices began to drop quickly and the farmers struggled to produce even
more to pay their debts, taxes, and provide for their families. (Morain 1) Farmers grew their crops and
kept a garden to provide food. In many families, the children would stop attending to school to help
out on the farm. ( Life During the Great Depression 1) Most farming families had been renting their
land and machinery, so when the Depression hit they couldn t afford to pay for the equipment
anymore. Only one in ten families had electricity and running water. If they lived in the middle portion
of the country then they were being hit with the Dust Bowl. (Reinhardt and Ganzel 1) On top of not

poorly just because of their skin. The social issue of racial discrimination in this story is still relevant
today and can be seen in the articles written by S.J. Prince, Mike Snider, and Genevieve Bookwalter.
S.J. Prince in his article, WATCH: Man in Wheelchair Assaults Man in Airport for Speaking Spanish,
Not English , talks about Michael,a man in a wheelchair, who berates a man because he spoke another
language. Michael says to the hispanic man, This fucking spic can kiss my ass[...] You are in America

Bookwalter writes, Robinson alleges that Bobkiewicz discriminated against her on the basis of race
and retaliated against her for filing complaints about racial discrimination, according to court
documents (Bookwalter, 9). Robinson claims that she was fired because she tried to speak out against
the racial discrimination and the fact that she was colored also contributed to her being fired.
Robinson s role was not supposed to be terminated until September, but according to her, she was
fired early because she was African American. This shows that racial discrimination is still a relevant
issue because Robinson lost her job a couple early all because of the color of her

Situation Analysis
Internal Environment
Sodebo is a family business, and it is in direct competition with the great names of French and
international food industry.
Product launched in 2009 on the French territory, it was a real challenge and a risky bet on the future.
With recent changes in legislation on VAT in this sector, the decline in restaurant visits, the concept of
PastaBox represented an alternative compared to traditional catering.
External and Consumer s Environment
In recent years, studies show that the French take less time to eat during their lunch break. To save
time, assets eat convenience food, sandwiches or even food on Tupperware at their workplace.
Often cheaper, these products are increasingly available, as retailers that sell these products proliferate
around us.

Lumbar X ray This is a left lateral view of lumbar and sacral spine with SI joints (Lateral L5 S1).
The lateral view of lumbar spine demonstrates vertebral bodies, end plates, spinous processes and
intervertebral disc spaces very well. The patient is positioned in side lying on to the left side with
straight back and flexion at hip and knees in a comfortable position.
Precautions should be taken to avoid any rotation by placing one knee right over the other one. The
mid coronal plane of the body should be aligned to the midline of grid and place the radiolucent
support under the waist so that the long axis of the spine is parallel to the table (McKinnis, 2014).

fracture without major displacement of fibula and intact tibio fibular syndesmosis. Considerable
swelling is noted over the ankle joint. Treatment includes closed reduction and immobilization for
about 3 4 weeks with weight bearing restrictions. Immediate application of ice, elevation, compression
and rest will decrease the swelling and inflammation which will help in appropriate reduction. If the
ankle is unstable then surgical intervention is another option. Rehabilitation followed by

My Dream Life In College
It was 2005 and I was a senior at a high school in Florida. My whole life I was raised by my beautiful
grandparents in Miami who always hoped for me to attend college and study a rewarding career. All
my friends knew their goals and were focused on pursuing their careers. I witnessed them trying to get
into the finest universities; and many did get admitted into their dream school. On the other hand, I
was uncertain what I wanted to study, although I knew deep down inside I was just as intelligent and
driven as my friends.
My grandparents met in Cuba when they were only 13 years old, and remained together every day of
their lives. They always planned to flee Cuba and move to the United States to provide a better life for
their children. After three attempts trying to flee the Island, my family was fortunate to survive the
rough ocean waters and land safely in America. They risked their lives in searching for the American
dream on a make shift boat. Years later, while living in Florida, my grandfather worked three jobs to
provide a better life for the family. He wanted his children and grandchildren to go to school and have
a prosperous life in the great United States. I had hopes to one day have my grandparents see me
graduate from high school and college. However, that drastically changed that same year when I
learned that my lovely grandmother had a terminal illness. She began complaining of abdominal pain
and shortness of breath. Immediately, my family and I took

1. When shares of common stock are issued to satisfy the exercise of employee stock options, are the
shares issued from the Company s authorized but previously unissued shares or from the Company s
treasury stock ? Where in the financial statements do you find this information?
(page 44) According to the 10 K, the Company s common stock remains the same in 2011 and 2010
(75.5 million) while the treasury stock increased from 2615.2 to 3210.3 million, which means the
Company didn t issue any authorized but previously unissued shares this year but satisfied the exercise
of employee stock options by using the treasury stock they bought in fiscal year 2011.

Basic EPS = (net income preferred dividends) / weighted average number of common shares
outstanding = 1798.3/(754.6 109.8) = 2.8
Diluted EPS = (net income preferred dividends) / (weighted average number of common shares
outstanding + increment in common shares)
Since there is not enough information to calculate the increment in common shares, the diluted EPS
cannot be proved in this case.
6. Explain the earnings per share amount that you would recommend an investor should use to
evaluate the company.
(page 66) I would recommend an investor use the diluted EPS. For investors, it is important to value
the business assuming all possible dilution that can take place will take place. According to the 10 K,
the amount of exercised stock option is quite large annually, which means the increment in common
shares is considerable. Using the diluted EPS will help the investor to evaluate the Company in a big
picture.
7. How much would the diluted earnings per share be if the stock price were high enough to make all
the stock options in the money. Assume that the exercise price of all stock options is $2 less that the
average market price for 2011.
(page 66 67) According to the 10 K, the exercise price is 22.59 per share, so we can conclude that the
average market price is 24.59.
The shares issued from assumed exercise = 81104.6 + 5234.3 = 86338.9 thousand

Analysis Of The Poem The Mineshaft s Circular Chamber

Didn t See That Coming
The mineshaft s circular chamber
Maybe an hour later
I have to find it for you, a gruff voice said.
My sight came back, diffused, dim dreamlike. A ghost drifted beside me in a billowy blouse, navy
breeches, stockings, and buckled boots. His hair long and loose and peacock blue was gathering a lace
of dust. He was blurred as ghosts often are, but his voice was clear.
Captain McBride, I thought. But that s impossible. He s dead, which means . . . I m dead too?
Don t fret, child. He reached out and brushed his ghostly fingers across my cheek. I m going to give
you something. Hide it in your sock and don t tell anyone you have it.

away from the etched figures on the limestone wall when I heard a distant voice that was definitely
Bane s echoing around the mineshaft. Hurry up, girl.
I crept the rest of the way through and stumbled out into the stone space. I must have looked like a
dirty coal miner, but Bane was too interested in the Sade Stone to pay me much attention.
It s about time, he said.
Sorry, for the delay. The Stone s inside, I mumbled, handing him the flashlight.
He took several long strides, stopped, and eyed me suspiciously.
Breathe, I told myself. He s a man, not a monster.
Is this another one of your tricks?
No, I replied.
No, sir, he corrected.
Sir, I repeated.
He unscrewed the flashlight cap and dumped the pebbles into his hand. You re so done.
I turned to run, wondering if I d appear on a milk carton someday soon a blond kid, hands clasped
over my doughnut shaped mouth as a madman chased after me.
I reached the corridor with the low ceiling just as Bane rounded the corner. In seconds, my sneakers
crossed laces with his tennis shoes, and our combined forward momentum carried us through in a
tangle of elbows and knees and a sudden frenzy of flying rocks. I hit the mine floor rolling like a girl
shaped soccer ball.
Bane stopped me with a kick to the chest. He could have continued thumping me into Silly Putty, but

Injustice
Injustice was a big part of To Kill A Mockingbird and impacted the whole town of Maycomb in
different ways. I never wanta hear about that courthouse again, ever, ever, you hear me? You hear me?
Don t you ever say one word to me about it again, you hear? Now go on! (331 Lee). The biggest
examples are with the Finch family during the trial and Tom Robinson. Injustice is a lack of fairness
or justice. Tom Robinson faces the worst case of injustice. He was convicted of rape because of his
skin color. When the book takes place, black people are still considered less than white people. Tom
was able to get the best lawyer in Maycomb: Atticus. Mr. Gilmer was being unfair to Tom during the
trial. He asked him questions that made Tom uncomfortable, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Atticus was assigned the case and he could have rejected it but, he had wanted this case since the
beginning. It was strange for a white man to defend a black man back then. Once he accepted the case,
people thought of him as a stupid and dishonorable for defending a black man. His own sister called
him a disgrace to the family. You see, don t you, said Aunt Alexandra, what comes of things like this.
Don t say i haven t told you (211).Atticus was able to stop a group of people from killing Tom. They
didn t care if he was guilty or not. They just wanted to kill him because he was black. During and after
the trial, Atticus and the kids faced even more injustice. Mr. Gilmer was unfair to Atticus during the
trial. When Atticus tried to talk, Mr. Gilmer would yell at him to be quiet. After the trial was over, Jem
and Scout got attacked by Bob Ewell. He attacked them because the kids were against him in the trial.
Boo Radley came in quickly, saved the kids, and killed Bob Ewell. The people of Maycomb would
give the Finch family weird looks on the street and talk dirty behind their back. When Calpurnia
brought Jem and Scout to her church, one of the black people got in their faces and asked them to
leave. He reads all right, that s all he does, (218). To Kill a Mockingbird had many events that had
injustice. The Finch family and Tom Robinson faced a lot of injustice before, during, and after the
trial. Injustice played a huge role in how the book and the trial

G Sabrinus Research Paper
Alex Christensen 10/21/2014 Bio 203 Lab Glaucomys sabrinus: Habit and Geography/ Forms and
Function One of the most biologically complex organisms across all ecosystems is the northern flying
squirrel (G. sabrinus). In the most general sense, the northern flying squirrel can be labeled an
occupant of boreal conifer and mixed forests and an organism who has developed the ability to glide
from tree to tree (Smith et al. 2011, Thorington and Santana 2007, Weigl 2007). This basic overview
of the G. sabrinus, however, does not even begin to show the complexity of this organism s lifestyle
and the various functions that allow it to survive. This organism also serves as a very precise indicator
of an ecosystems health; recently G. sabrinus has been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Small tree squirrels like the Sciurini are very good leapers and use the ability to jump from tree to tree
to avoid predators, however, small tree squirrels are unable to leap as far as larger tree squirrels so the
ability to glide is more advantageous to smaller squirrels then to larger ones (Thorington and Santana
2007). Also, due to the fact that smaller squirrels reach lower velocities upon falling, smaller squirrels
would be safer if such a situation occurred and they would be less likely to become injured
(Thorington and Santana 2007). Due to these factors, the conclusion that northern flying squirrels
evolved from small squirrels is justified. Overall, the evolution of gliding in small tree squirrels allows
them to more successfully avoid predators, find food more quickly, and increases the safety of the
squirrel as it moves around its habit (Thorington and Santana 2007). The anatomical manifestation of
this evolution is the patagium which is lined with muscle called the platysma II extending from the
wrist to the body and from the body to the ankle (Thorington and Santana 2007). Unlike other flying
squirrels, the northern flying squirrel does not possess what is called an uropatagium which extends
from the ankle to the tail, despite this, G. sabrinus is a very adept glider. Another adaptation that is
believed to have occurred is the

High School Football Comes With A Risk Essay
Although sports may help increase levels of fitness and overall health, is it worth it if you end up
breaking your bones anyways? Not to mention how some injuries would impact academics. Unless
you want to pursue a career in athletics focusing too much on sports would do no benefits. Overall
sports seem to have a negative effect on our youth participants. Not many realize how many injuries
one can get, or how money wasted on sports impacts other students.
Young children having major physical injuries while participating in sports should be of more
concern. In the article High School Football Comes With a Risk, by Jeffrey Perkel it states that, ...boys
aged 10 to 14 we re most likely to end up in the nation s emergency departments with a traumatic
brain injury..., This shows how adolescents are unnecessarily hurting themselves because of these

Where Sweatshops Are A Dream By Kristops Analysis
A complex that occurs in sweatshops is there s people that view sweatshops as a horrible thing and
others view sweatshops as a marvelous thing. Why? People discover that sweatshops are run by
criminal syndicates and then there s individuals that desire to be working in sweatshops. It then
becomes a problem to decide whether sweatshops should end or if they should keep going. People
hate the idea of sweatshops and others would dream about having a factory job. It s important to be
aware of the disadvantages and advantages sweatshops have. Sweatshops caught my attention because

Kristof. The context of this article is for his readers to be aware that sweatshops are an essential to
many developing countries that may have beneficial benefits. To summarize Kristof s article, he
indicates the danger of not working in sweatshops. He also reveals that sweatshops can help a country
s economy because it will be providing additional jobs. As I read through the article I learned that
sweatshops are secure, profitable jobs for families in developing countries. Although it may seem like
a terrible job to have, it is the only thing keeping people from from living in poverty. The article was
valuable because Kristof presents numerous facts and powerful stories of families and children, which
are allowing readers to discover that sweatshops aren t always an awful thing. Despite that, something
that this article is missing is information about Kristof living in East Asia. The only thing he mentions
is living there for years. Kristof should let his readers know about his experiences there and things that
occurred, so readers could connect on a deeper level with his article. I would like to learn if working
in the dump is the only option for survival. Moreover, if working in the dump is the only option, what
else could be sold other than plastic cups. I agree with Kristof, the best way to help people in third
world countries is to support sweatshops and promote more where they re needed. However, I
disagree that sweatshops aren t going to the poorest nations because they should be. People in the
poorest nations is where the most help is needed. People working in sweatshops will be making more
money than they could be working

A Civil Action Film
In the movie A Civil Action we see many different concepts, terminology, and an over all realistic

litigants and judges play a roll in this complex legal system we have that is not just black in white.
Here we get a glimpse of what it is like to be a personal injury lawyer taking on a civil trail case in a

to no closing augments in the trial in Beatrice Foods being found not liable and the trial against W.R.

Analysis Of The Film Dead Man Walking
Introduction The theoretical perspective I found most convincing when analyzing the behavior of the
main character, Mathew Poncelot, in the film, Dead Man Walking, are the ideologies of sociologist
Max Weber. He believed that rather than only focusing on one s social actions, it is instead important
to understand why people do the things that they do (Long Crowell). Empathizing with individuals
and identifying their perspectives explains one s rationales behind each choice and behavior (Long
Crowell). By gaining an understanding of an individual s point of view, we can make sense of their
reality and how their perceptions affect their role in our world (DuBose, 2015). Weber s theory
supports that Poncelot s behaviors can be explained by evaluating the rationale behind the factors that
influenced and affected the choices he made. His childhood experiences, family values, education
level, social class, and economic status were crucial factors when explaining why he became the
person he was. Furthermore, the combination of Poncelot s thoughts and actions were based on the
experiences and social interactions he encountered. Throughout this analysis, I will reflect on the
various theoretical perspectives discussed this semester and what I have learned from each of these
concepts. I will address why I found Weber s theory most convincing and apply connections between
theories as they relate to understanding social problems and the values of daily social work practices.

Colin Ferguson Research Paper
December 7, 1993, Colin Ferguson began to execute passengers randomly on a New York commuter
train (Who is Colin Ferguson, 2017). After killing six passengers and injuring nineteen others, he was
finally subdued by three of the other passengers (Who is Colin Ferguson, 2017).
Colin Ferguson was born January 14, 1959 in Kingston, Jamaica. His father Von Herman was the
managing director for Hercules Agencies, a large pharmaceutical company. Mr. Herman was highly
regarded and recognized as a prominent businessman in Jamaica (Montaldo, 2017). Ferguson had four
brothers and afforded the privileges that wealth offers in an extreme poverty area. He graduated from
Calabar High School in 1969 with a grade average that was ranked in the top third of his class
(Montaldo, 2017). In 1978 his father was killed in a car crash and a short time later his mother died
from cancer. He would then suffer the loss of the family fortune. At 23 years old Ferguson left
Kingston, Jamaica and moved to the U.S. on a Visitor s Visa (Montaldo, 2017). Jamaican culture is
different than American cultures. A study completed in 1997 concerning 225 Jamaican adults, it was
found that Jamaican men were considered coarse, reckless, aggressive, lazy, tough, arrogant, stern,
disorderly, robust, rigid, autocratic, courageous, and hard headed (Carpenter Walters, 2011). The only
job Ferguson could get were low paying and menial. He blamed racist Americans for this problem
(Montaldo, 2017). He got married to an American citizen who was also of Jamaican descent. They
soon moved to Long Island but Ferguson continued to be frustrated with reports of loss of temper and
outrage and racial bigotry toward white people who he felt stood in his way (Montaldo, 2017). In
Jamaica he was born into one of the top families in Kingston. Government and top military members
attended his father s funeral but in America he was not given this honor which appeared to cause him
to continue his hatred toward white people (Montaldo, 2017). His marriage did not last due to his
violent nature. Shortly after his divorce Ferguson was injured at work and he started attending Nassau
Community College with a strong academic performance. However, one

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since The Voice is not a comedy and does not resonate highly with the same target audience it is not seen as a direct threat. However, a new show on NBC will be coming on right after The Voice called Revolution. The show may attract some of the same target audience but since it is not a comedy, those that are looking for something much more comedic will turn to ABC. FOX: On Monday nights at 9:00pm on FOX an hour long show called The Following comes on, it is not a comedy but it does appeal to some of the same target audience. The show that comes on right before The Following is Bones, which is another crime show. Research shows that our target audience finds interest in the crime shows, therefore although Bones does not come on at the same time, it is possible that the target audience will decide to watch one show over the other. the CW: On Monday nights at 9:00pm on the CW the popular show 90210 comes on. The show is popular among high school and early college students but also appeals to the target audience which makes the CW s 90210 a direct competitor. Even though 90210 is not a comedy is has been around for, going on, six seasons and has viewer loyalty. Show Overview The American adaptation of Summer Heights High, to match the target audience and to have independent brand awareness from the Australian version will be renamed to Summer Heights U, U standing for university. • 4. Spectral Band Replication in Audio Coding Spectral Band Replication (SBR) is a novel audio spectrum recovery technology, it can greatly improve the efficiency of perceptual audio coding compression, and thus more suitable for streaming media applications with limited bandwidth. It will be widely used in the world of digital broadcasting, the third generation mobile communications, multimedia downloads, video on demand and other services. SBR use parametric coding technique that involves complex algorithms; simply take a long time by the hardware circuit design. And this design cannot keep up with the constant development of audio standards. In other words: When a new standard integration into the decoder, it takes a long time to complete the new circuit design, the original method will no longer have a market value. Be achieved only using the software in power consumption and cost requirements are higher for portable applications with limited competition. With the increasing complexity and diversity of multimedia signal processing requirements, hardware and software co design concept has been widely applied to the actual design. The two main reasons why Spectral Band Replication can fit our needs are: First, SBR is capable of reproducing the high frequency band by using the correlation information which transmitted along with the low frequency band. Therefore, we can save the bits which were reserved for coding high frequency band without actually lost the high frequency signal. Second, it is more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Alexander The Great Personality ALEXANDER THE GREAT A MEGALOMANIAC ROSANNY ESPINAL GREEK CIVILAZATION MONTCLAIR STATE UNIVERSITY Alexander the Great was born in 356 B.C. in Macedonia, Greece. Alexander was born into a royal family. Alexander the Great s father, Philip was the King of Macedonia before he was and his mother was Olympias. When Alexander turned twenty years old, his father was assassinated, and therefore he followed in his father s footsteps gaining kingship and became the best king ever known to man. Ever since a young boy, Alexander dreamed of having revenge over Persia. His plan was to defeat the Persians and conquer all the mountains all the way up to India. Alexander has never lost a battle out of the thirteen years he reigned, compared to other Greek generals before he has lost battles but not Alexander the Great. Alexander wanted to create a big empire, he was motivated by spreading Greek law and Greek culture. Alexander was obsessed with power wanting to conquer many countries, and the desire for more power was always on his mind. His characteristics are that of a megalomaniac because Alexander didn t stop at Persia, he wanted to conquer all the way up the eastern shore to the Mediterranean. Alexander wanted everyone to just give up their homes, no matter where he went. He would tell them first to surrender their power, and if they didn t he would do anything just to gain power. He either went as far as selling the people into slavery or even massacring them. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Critically Evaluate the Value of Academic and Applied... In the 21st Century, many problems face the people of today with academic and applied psychology facing those problems. One of the main problems that people face today is the idea of Globalisation. Globalisation is an ever growing process around the world, which has been an ever lasting process throughout time and into the 21st century. Globalisation is described as a process of international integration arising from the interchange of world views, products, ideas and other aspects of culture (Al Rodhan 2006). Throughout time, Golbalisation has impacted everyone, from the changing face of work (Occupational Psychology) through the Industrial Revolution to the more current Globalisation of hand held devices, such as mobile phones. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The idea of cultural imperialism is supported by Ritzer s notion of McDonaldisation, as it shows the western ideal of fast food being posed upon countries all over the world, slowly injecting the ideals of the west into eastern cultures. However, Globalisation cannot be seen in just a negative light, as through Globalisation, the face of work has changed since the 19th century, and even before that with the Industrial Revolution. As outlined above, Globalisation can be seen negatively as it may force people of a culture to accept another ideal, but the idea of Globalisation has also impacted on the world positively, for example changing the face of work. Through Occupational Psychology (applied psychology), the work place has implemented changes that has slowly started in the West and made its way around the world so that people get fair treatment in the work place. Since the Industrial Revolution, the workplace has changed from materials being hand made to people now programming machines, lowering the risk and stress of the individual. From then, the workplace has adapted further with machinery now being limited to factories for the building of cars, and more office/computer based work now becoming the more prominent. This can be seen as a positive view on Globalisation as it has reduced risks and stress (as outline before). A further notion is that the workplace has now become more globalised, with ... In 1912, Masson moved back to France, but this time to Paris where he continued his studies until the outbreak of World War one. During World War one, Masson became part of the French infantry where he got seriously injured, and scarred emotionally. After the war Masson moved to southern France until 1922, where he moved back to Paris to continue working on his art. Masson returned to France in 1937 and reconnected with the Surrealist movement. Once World War 2 had started, Masson became part of the first Surrealist group to reach the United states Continuing to New York with Masson, he joined Ernst, whose new decalcomanias included Europe after the Rain (1940 42;see ), as well as Matta, Seligmann, Tanguy and Kay Sage in a larger group of refugees. The first Surrealist group show in the USA had taken place in 1931 2 at the Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford, CT, travelling to the Julien Levy Gallery, New York Masson had been part of the first Surrealist group in the United states. This quote is important because Masson is taking his political beliefs that had rapidly gained momentum in Europe, and trying to stretch those beliefs to the rest of the world. During the Interwar period, Andre Masson had been part of the Surrealist movement and this influenced his artwork a lot. Before the Surrealist movement, Masson had been initially interested in Cubism, an art form made famous by Pablo Picasso. Masson went from very generic art at the time, to very unconventional art. For instance, one of his most famous paintings called battle of the fishes, and it was painted in a very unorthodox manner. In this painting Masson actually threw glue onto the canvas, and then after the sand had settled, he threw sand onto the canvas. After what probably made a huge mess, he painted, and drew around ... • 8. Tax Reform The Tax system of the United States is in absolute disorder. Politicians on both sides, of the political spectrum, agree that the tax system that we use today is complicated and expensive. In order to completely understand the immense tax problems that are in this country, the current tax problems must be first analyzed and explained, short terms solutions must be created and used as a temporary answer for these problems, and finally long term solutions must be the permanent fix for the myriad of the problems that are troubling this nation. The purpose of the government is to protect and serve the people that live within the country s boundaries. In order to carry out this vital task the government needs revenue from the same people it protects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To obtain long term solutions it is critical that the American government reshapes the tax code and provides Americans a substantial amount of tax relief. The current tax code is too complicated, it needs to be simplified. The way the current tax code is organized it seems that it someone needs an advanced degree in order to effectively understand and complete it. Simplifying the tax code will be beneficial to the average citizen and the government. This country needs to effectively increase the economic developments within its boundaries. To allow substantial economic development this government is absolutely necessary that this country put an end to corporate inversion. The biggest factors that contribute to corporate inversion are the incredibly high tax rate of thirty five percent and the decision by the American government to force a tax on company s income, regardless of their location. By lowering the corporate tax rate and allowing to America to transition from an international system to a more domestic one, corporate inversion will end which will add a enormous amount money back into the American economy. These long term solutions will give America permanent solutions to the horrible tax problems it faces ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this episode, a judge hears both sides on a liver transplant dispute between the hospital (defendant) and the victim (plaintiff), represented by big firm attorneys. The plaintiff was allegedly wrongfully removed from the top of the transplant list. The attorney for the hospital was then fired by her firm during the trial. She proceeded to go to the big firm attorneys that were on her opposite side and ask for them to be her attorneys, representing her in a wrongful discharge suit against her former law firm. The rules on conflicts of interest and imputation of those conflicts are represented by the big firm attorneys who took on the fired attorney s case (who was their opposition just a few hours ago on a case that was still pending). Directed by Billy Wilder an Austrian born, American filmmaker of sixty films. The movie is almost 67 years old and when it was first released the movie was nominated for eleven Academy Awards, ranked number twelve on the American Film Institutes list of the 100 best American films in 1998, and worshipped by many critics. Although the movie was not released in my time, this classic has definitely got me interested in movies similar to this love story with a crazed ending. Most actors do not continue making films one after another until they die but Norma could not get this into her head. She spent years writing her script to return to the big screen and was set on that dream. Since Norma was obsessed with the goal of filming again it led her to become foolish about how famous she actually was and her terrible script. Also a scary realization of having a chance of ending up demented like Norma. The directors wanted to show us a alarming visual of what life could be like for actors after their acting days were over. I recommend this film for anybody that is interested in movies with the genre drama. The film refers to many references to past Hollywood and screenwriters, so it would help if you know a little bit of that background to have a better understanding to what the actors are saying. But I enjoyed the plot twists, astounding acting, and shocking ending. I actually asked my friend to watch the film by herself since the film was available on Netflix. The fleet that manages these costs the most efficiently has a competitive advantage, and will enjoy greater earnings. Following are three fleet tracking tips to increase efficiency and profit. Fuel Fuel is the largest operating expense for fleets. Taking tight control of this expense can bring about significant economic benefits. GPS tracking systems offer huge advantages to fleet managers because they make fuel purchases, and use, transparent. Managers are able to view when and where fuel purchases or made, and by whom. They can view reports that systematically display cost per mile, as well ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The optimized route details the most efficient, and cost effective course, and deviations from that itinerary, generally reduce the profit of the load. Fleet management software can include the preferred fuel stops into the route. Using complex algorithms, the program calculates how far off the route the fuel stop is, while weighing in the cost of the fuel at that station. Refueling stops, that reflect the least route departure, at the maximum cost savings, are part of the planned route the driver will follow. This eliminates many of the deadhead miles that result in reaching an off course refueling station. Driving Performance The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports that driver impact on fuel efficiency is, as much as, 33%. GPS fleet management systems monitor driving behavior that waste fuel, such as hard acceleration, excessive use of air conditioning, hard breaking, idling, and driving at inconsistent speeds. These behaviors often improve when drivers become aware that they are being monitored, however, fleet managers can trigger alerts for driving actions that are both unsafe, and wasteful of fuel. Preventative Maintenance and Repair Maintenance and repair are the second largest operational expenses for fleets. Professionals advocate that a rigorous regimen of preventative maintenance is essential for efficient and profitable fleet management. Not only does preventative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the most general sense, the northern flying squirrel can be labeled an occupant of boreal conifer and mixed forests and an organism who has developed the ability to glide from tree to tree (Smith et al. 2011, Thorington and Santana 2007, Weigl 2007). Small tree squirrels like the Sciurini are very good leapers and use the ability to jump from tree to tree to avoid predators, however, small tree squirrels are unable to leap as far as larger tree squirrels so the ability to glide is more advantageous to smaller squirrels then to larger ones (Thorington and Santana 2007). Also, due to the fact that smaller squirrels reach lower velocities upon falling, smaller squirrels would be safer if such a situation occurred and they would be less likely to become injured (Thorington and Santana 2007). Due to these factors, the conclusion that northern flying squirrels evolved from small squirrels is justified. Overall, the evolution of gliding in small tree squirrels allows them to more successfully avoid predators, find food more quickly, and increases the safety of the squirrel as it moves around its habit (Thorington and Santana 2007). The anatomical manifestation of this evolution is the patagium which is lined with muscle called the platysma II extending from the wrist to the body and from the body to the ankle (Thorington and Santana 2007). I agree with Kristof, the best way to help people in third world countries is to support sweatshops and promote more where they re needed. However, I disagree that sweatshops aren t going to the poorest nations because they should be. People in the poorest nations is where the most help is needed. People working in sweatshops will be making more money than they could be working ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. A Civil Action Film In the movie A Civil Action we see many different concepts, terminology, and an over all realistic view into the litigation process. This movie shows us what really life lawyers have to deal with while their case is going though the legal system. A Civil Action gives the view great insight on how the litigants and judges play a roll in this complex legal system we have that is not just black in white. Here we get a glimpse of what it is like to be a personal injury lawyer taking on a civil trail case in a U.S. court. He we see that Jan Schlichtmann, the lead attorney in this case, is like many of todays real life personal injury lawyers that work on contingency, where they only gets paid if they win the case or settles. One of the first legal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Facher gets his way in not letting the families testify because the judge agrees with him that it would be too much for the families. When repeat players and relationships between lawyers and judges come into play this can change the course of a case as it has severely hurt Mr. Schilichtmann s plan. This led to no closing augments in the trial in Beatrice Foods being found not liable and the trial against W.R. Grace continues. The reason W.R. Grace is able to continue is because they have deep pockets and can afford to continue in a trail. However, Schilichtmann and his firm did not have deep pockets and after a long trail finally took a settlement and this was the end of their fight. Schilichtmann later went on and had the case sent to the EPA where they were able to appeal it because they had the money and the resources to unlike Schilichtmann. So from this we can see that money plays a huge roll in the litigation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Analysis Of The Film Dead Man Walking Introduction The theoretical perspective I found most convincing when analyzing the behavior of the main character, Mathew Poncelot, in the film, Dead Man Walking, are the ideologies of sociologist Max Weber. He believed that rather than only focusing on one s social actions, it is instead important to understand why people do the things that they do (Long Crowell). Empathizing with individuals and identifying their perspectives explains one s rationales behind each choice and behavior (Long Crowell). By gaining an understanding of an individual s point of view, we can make sense of their reality and how their perceptions affect their role in our world (DuBose, 2015). Weber s theory supports that Poncelot s behaviors can be explained by evaluating the rationale behind the factors that influenced and affected the choices he made. His childhood experiences, family values, education level, social class, and economic status were crucial factors when explaining why he became the person he was. Furthermore, the combination of Poncelot s thoughts and actions were based on the experiences and social interactions he encountered. Throughout this analysis, I will reflect on the various theoretical perspectives discussed this semester and what I have learned from each of these concepts. I will address why I found Weber s theory most convincing and apply connections between theories as they relate to understanding social problems and the values of daily social work practices. ... • 35. Colin Ferguson Research Paper December 7, 1993, Colin Ferguson began to execute passengers randomly on a New York commuter train (Who is Colin Ferguson, 2017). After killing six passengers and injuring nineteen others, he was finally subdued by three of the other passengers (Who is Colin Ferguson, 2017). Colin Ferguson was born January 14, 1959 in Kingston, Jamaica. His father Von Herman was the managing director for Hercules Agencies, a large pharmaceutical company. Mr. Herman was highly regarded and recognized as a prominent businessman in Jamaica (Montaldo, 2017). Ferguson had four brothers and afforded the privileges that wealth offers in an extreme poverty area. He graduated from Calabar High School in 1969 with a grade average that was ranked in the top third of his class (Montaldo, 2017). In 1978 his father was killed in a car crash and a short time later his mother died from cancer. He would then suffer the loss of the family fortune. At 23 years old Ferguson left Kingston, Jamaica and moved to the U.S. on a Visitor s Visa (Montaldo, 2017). Jamaican culture is different than American cultures. A study completed in 1997 concerning 225 Jamaican adults, it was found that Jamaican men were considered coarse, reckless, aggressive, lazy, tough, arrogant, stern, disorderly, robust, rigid, autocratic, courageous, and hard headed (Carpenter Walters, 2011). The only job Ferguson could get were low paying and menial. He blamed racist Americans for this problem (Montaldo, 2017). He got married to an American citizen who was also of Jamaican descent. They soon moved to Long Island but Ferguson continued to be frustrated with reports of loss of temper and outrage and racial bigotry toward white people who he felt stood in his way (Montaldo, 2017). In Jamaica he was born into one of the top families in Kingston. Government and top military members attended his father s funeral but in America he was not given this honor which appeared to cause him to continue his hatred toward white people (Montaldo, 2017). His marriage did not last due to his violent nature. Shortly after his divorce Ferguson was injured at work and he started attending Nassau Community College with a strong academic performance. The DCF uses the present value of the estimated free cash flows of a company which are then divided by the number of shares outstanding to find the stock price of the company. This model requires many assumptions to be made. Martin used a Terminal multiple of 13 times and a weighted average cost of capital of 9.3% and found a stock price of $54.29. Real options valuation analysis was of special importance to her as she believed that the contingent nature of the investment decision and the uncertainty surrounding the ultimate revenue streams made the stealth tier ideal for valuation through real options valuation analysis. Martin considered that the best approach was to value the option of each channel of the stealth tier per home passed. As a proxy for the present value of each channel Martin used the average current market value per home passed for a typical cable company. For strike price Martin considered the opportunity cost of not lighting up the fiber immediately. Finally, the above inputs along with other assumptions were employed by Martin to estimate an option value of $22.45.
