Iran Between Iran And Pakistan Essay
Iran s nuclear program is very debatable and has been even more debatable ever since they started
enriching their uranium that can be possibly become a nuclear weapon. This gives the west and Israel
a reason to be more worried about the issue. However in all of this there is an admission lately
because Iran and the P 5 +1 have reach a nuclear deal in order to loosen the harsh sanctions they have
received resulting in billions of dollars back to the Iranians in return for shutting down the program for
half a year. However if this politeness and skill with people fails then it is time for crime prevention
method to go into play here and possible military action. There are other nations that have nuclear
weapons like India and Pakistan without a permission slip. So all in all it seems to be unfair that Iran
is being discriminated in all of this but there are clear differences between Iran and Pakistan or even
India. Now some political scientists believe that Iran independent power is being violated if they have
to sign a permission slip to make legal their nuclear program according the IAEA. This would have
been a good argument if Iran didn t accept the deal. But Iran did and they agree to the UN that when
the parts deal demands the Iranians to reduce their purity on their uranium to a lower percentage
where it is suited for nuclear power only to prevent a nuclear armed Iran. So in terms of a nuclear
program the Iranians already accepted to do this directly or indirectly even

The Consequences Of The Viking Age
This is one of the first account of the raid which the Vikings carried out in England in 793, which had
instigated fear and shock throughout Europe. Not only because it had not been anticipated, but mostly
due to the destruction of the House of God which had fundamental functions and symbolism in
Medieval Christianity. The infamous Vikings of Scandinavia had left a ruthless impression on the rest
of Europe, thereby defining the beginning of the Viking Age. Many nations feared the raiding s which
the Vikings were capable of, again fueling the image of the Vikings having immense strength and
brute. However, to understand what historians call the Viking Age , (which is argued to be from late
8th Century to mid 11th Century) one must understand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Serbian Nationalism And Identity Of A Nation State s...
Perhaps one of the biggest points of contention in Serbia is nationalism and identity. Serbian
nationalism is especially unique due to its particular ethnic implications. It can be traced back to the
rise of nationalism in the Balkans during Ottoman rule. Serbia has existed between various empires
and nation states. Many Serbians voice the need for self autonomy, often citing being ruled by
outsiders for hundreds of years. Today Serbia seen by its people as an unfinished state. Thus, the need
for creating autonomous identity is especially relevant.1 Ristic in her essay on Serbian identity, that
the formation of a nation state s identity is crucial to its wellbeing. In general, identity is built upon
three essential interdependent elements: 1. birth, which creates ties to family, nation and to a concrete
geographical space; 2. culture, which forms individuals and groups spiritually and emotionally; 3.
acceptance of common values which help creating communities of values. Hence identity can be
determined on the basis of the following categories: place of living (town or district of town, country,
continent etc), religion, family, profession, nation, age class, ideology etc.2
The problem with Serbian national identity is that there is not enough security in the aforementioned
criterion historically. Ristic states that defining national identity upon values and ideology leads in
Serbia to two relatively opposite understandings of national identity and the values and norms

Compare/Contrast Final Draft
Vietnam and U.S There are many differences and similarities between Vietnam and the United States
of America. These two countries are on different continents. For example, Vietnam is in Southeast
Asia and United States of America is in North America. In addition, the culture, beliefs and practices
of the people are different. There are several similarities and differences between the U.S. and
Vietnam, specifically, in education. In both countries, the students go through twelve years of basic
education, beginning at the kindergarten. Education in Vietnam divides into five levels: preschool,
primary school, secondary school, high school and higher education. Basic education consists five
years of primary school, four years of intermediate school, and three years of secondary school. Public

Students are usually given more independence, moving to different classroom for different subjects,
and being allowed to choose some of their class subjects. Middle school usually includes sixth,
seventh, and eighth grade and occasionally fifth grade as well. The range defined by either is often
based on geographic factors, such as an increase or decrease in the relative numbers of younger or
older students, with the aim of maintaining stable school populations. High School usually runs from
ninth or tenth through twelveth grade. Students in these grades are commonly referred to as freshman,
sophomore, junior, and senior. During high school, students usually grade 11th may take more one or

Starting The Glass Castle By Jeannette Wells
Poet Dylan Thomas once spoke, Dark is a way and light is a place , Heaven that never was nor will be
is always true . One s life is not charted by how much money they make, or how big their house is,
because in the blink of an eye, it can all be gone. I believe life is charted by the impact you have on
others. Starting this book has reshaped how I think about the growing problem of homelessness. How
I address the problem, and how I see and want to find ways to fix it more than ever.
Growing up I ve heard many reasons why people are homeless. One is that they didn t have enough
money to support themselves, because they spent it on wants, and not necessities like, drugs, and
alcohol. Another is that a person is mentally challenged, and doesn t have the capacity, or skills to
function in, the real world and can t support themselves, and end up on the streets. They also don t
have a support system, or the means to find assistants, and their only option may be, to end up on the
streets. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Its opened my eyes, and broken many stereotypes I had about homeless people. Jeannette stated she
was embarrassed, and didn t know what to say when people asked about her parents. Jeanette s mom
said, just to tell the truth. Reading about this broke arguably the biggest stereotype about homeless
people for me. That some people chose to be homeless. Most people are homeless because they have
no family, no money to support themselves, or are foreigners, who can t find a job. But reading this
shattered my beliefs of the subject of homelessness

The Essence Of Being A Leader
3 Focus on the essence of being a leader
Being a leader is not a position you gain; it s not about having a special title or a specific role within
an organisation. Being a leader is about behaviour and actions. You can be a leader even if you aren t
at a senior level at an organisation and you can find examples of people who call themselves leaders
because of their position of power, but who in fact act more like bosses. Whatever you do, always
remember the essence of being a leader: sharing your vision with people and inspiring them to follow
your cause.
Examine different leaders, listen to them sharing their wisdom and discover the characteristics, skills
and traits that make them successful at what they do. You can find many resources on leadership and
being a leader. One great way is to watch interviews. For example, the YouTube clip below has
Richard Branson sharing his views on the essential quality of a leader:
Use the information and experience to develop your own leadership style and strategy. Identify your
strengths and weaknesses as a leader, utilising them as part of your chosen style. By understanding
your own behaviour and how it influences your abilities as a leader, you can continue developing your
skills. But more important is how it can help you realise how its your behaviour that defines your
success as a leader, not your place within an organisation s hierarchy.
You can t be complacent and expect people the look up to you as a leader when you gain a

Japanese Americans And Japanese Internment
Japanese internment camps from 1942 to 1946 were an exemplification of discrimination, many
Japanese Americans were no longer accepted in their communities after the Bombing of Pearl Harbor.
They were perceived as traitors and faced humiliation due to anti Japanese sentiment causing them to
be forced to endure several hardships such as leaving behind their properties to go an imprisoned state,
facing inadequate housing conditions, and encountering destitute institutions. The Bombing of Pearl
Harbor occurred on December 7, 1941 (Why I Love a Country that Once Betrayed Me). This led
president Roosevelt to sign the executive order 9066, which authorized the army to remove any
individual that seemed as a potential threat to the nation ( Executive Order 9066 ) This order allowed
the military to exclude any or all persons from designated areas, including the California coast.
(Fremon 31). Many Japanese opposed to leave the Pacific Coast on their own free will (Fremon 24) .
Japanese Americans would not be accepted in other areas if they moved either.Idaho s governor stated,
Japanese would be welcomed only if they were in concentration camps under guard (Fremon 35). The
camps were located in Arizona, Arkansas, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, and California where
thousands of Japanese Americans eventually relocated. ( Japanese Americans at Manzanar ) The
internment lasted for 3 years and the last camp did not close until 1946. (Lessons Learned: Japanese

The Priest Walchelin And The Hellequin s Hunt
While Phaedrus, the Bhagavad Gita, Epicurus Letters to Menoeceus, and the story of The Priest
Walchelin and the Hellequin s Hunt all offer slightly different theories on what happens after death,
they all agree that the death of the body is inevitable. However, the texts fail to give explicit
instruction on how mortals should best live their life so as to be best situated for existence after death.
Identifying how the texts instruct people to live life in a way that s meaningful despite its temporary
nature will help identify methods for benefitting humanity and thus retroactively reveal our
shortcomings. According to these texts, the only way to live a meaningful life is to focus on the
betterment of the soul. Because the soul will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Given that the soul outlives its host body, it must have somewhere to go once the body dies. The
uncertainty of where the soul goes after death is the greatest source of fear for mortals. Whether the
soul goes to a new body or to a place of divine reward or punishment, these texts reveal a change of
scenery for souls. While many would like to believe that if they follow a generally moral path they ll
be rewarded after they die, The Priest Walchelin and the Hellequin s Hunt challenges that idea. In this
story, a member of the living is shocked to see many highly regarded figures who... should have gone
straight to join the saints in heaven (Joynes 50) roaming the earth as punishment for sins of which the
public was unaware. Through this story it becomes apparent that previous modes of judging whether
one will be rewarded after death aren t reliable. This unexpected outcome is a source of terror and
apprehension for many other seemingly qualified men, such as Prince Arjuna in The Bhagavad Gita .
In the Gita, Arjuna vehemently protests killing any of his kin because hell is waiting for those whose
familiar rituals of righteousness are no more (The Bhagavad Gita 47). Prior to his moment of
weakness at the beginning of the text, Arjuna had been a heroic warrior (The Bhagavad Gita 43) and
loyal follower of Krishna, but

Oryx And Crake Character Profile
In the book Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood, one specific character portrays great knowledge of
the world and life while many other characters lack intelligence and morals. If my child were to be
taken care of by one character in this book I would pick the character to help my child grow and
develop in the best way possible. There are many choices of characters to raise this child, Jimmy,
Snowman, Crake, and Oryx. But, I would choose Snowman, the futuristic version of the character
Jimmy, to raise my child. There are many reasons why I would choose Snowman, but there are also
many reasons why the other characters would not be as good of a choice. Jimmy is the first example
of someone I would never trust to rase my child. In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People in the village who were in need of money would sell their own children to him in exchange for
money. These children then went to live with him in a much bigger city than their village and were
sent out as flower sellers. However, it was a bit different for Oryx. Although she did start out as a
flower seller, uncle En soon brainwashed her into participating in pornography videos. Her uncle told
her that this wasn t wrong and basically tricked her by convincing her that she was loved and that
being in these videos was a good thing. Not knowing any better, she willingly participated in these
videos that were published to an online site. Jimmy even watched an online pornography video with
her Oryx participating in it. She was with him at the time they were watching and as the book notes,
Oryx stops what she s doing then she looked over her shoulder and right into the eyes of the viewer

was not the type of words that a young child should be saying. Oryx, just a girl, had a very scaring

right and wrong mean. She wouldn t know the difference between the two, so she wouldn t be able to

William Chaucer s The Friar s Tale
Society has always judged a person on his level of morality. This level of judgment has been evident
since the immoral acts of Adam and Eve were committed. Some of these acts are dishonesty, adultery,
and ignorance. The Friar s Tale makes these moral issues clear through various characters. The
summoner and the Devil both show dishonesty, abuse of power, and mercilessness. In this short story,
Chaucer illustrates the theme of immorality and how it affects the character of all the persons in the
tale.
.Characters display dishonesty in The Friar s Tale . The summoner steals the money that he collects
from peasants. Chaucer illustrates this act of immorality when he says,
Now truly...so do I. I never spare to take a thing, knows God, unless it be too heavy or too hot. What I
get for myself, and privately, no kind of conscience for such things have I .
(170 174).
The summoner is being dishonest to the people that he collects from by not telling him that he keeps
the money. The summoner admits to the Devil that he steals. The summoner also says that he has no
conscience. Therefore he can not be kept from evil.
(Gray 115)
Bowden addresses the summoner s immorality when he states,
Fact and fiction both condemn him as especially licentious and dishonest. He also mentions how
Gower writes of him as pretending to be poor but, in actuality, as being as rich as a king
(Bowden 55).
Stealing is immoral, and Bowden reinforces that the summoner is immoral and steals beyond need.

Resistance to Liberalism Essay
RUNNING HEAD: RESISTANCE TO LIBERALISM
The Justification of Resisting Liberalism
Liberalism, in general, was an ideological movement that emerged out of the ideas of the
Enlightenment and the Industrial Revolution in the early 19th century. It embraced the ideas of
individualism which were established in the Renaissance and Reformation era. The Renaissance
period sparked a belief in the importance of the individual in society. It helped promote the beliefs of
classical liberalism which gradually formed into the liberal ideology of the 19th century. Individuals
that were waiting to get their individual rights and freedoms were allowed to finally gain liberty and
power through this period of time. Classical liberalism developed ... Show more content on

Luddism, for example, was one of the ideologies that opposed the industrial changes that liberalism
brought. The jobs of the skilled textile workers were lost and replaced by machines operated by
unskilled laborers. The Luddites protested and even broke into factories, destroying many machinery.
Chartism was another example of the response to the unrecognized individual rights. Chartism was a
working class movement with the main focus on political and social reform in society (Fielding, 2009,
132). The Chartists wanted a political and social reform in society because they could be granted the
rights to participate in these aspects of society. Utopian Socialists were humanitarians who advocated
an end to the appalling conditions of the average worker in the industrial capitalist countries (Fielding,
2009, 134). They believed that education and the improved working conditions could peacefully
remove the worst aspects of capitalism and lead to an ideal socialist society where everyone would
live happily. It is therefore the interest of all, that everyone, from birth, should be well educated,
physically and mentally, that society may be improved in its character; that everyone should be
beneficially employed, physically, and mentally, that the greatest amount of wealth may be created
and knowledge attained.... (Fielding, 2009, 135). Another essential resistance to liberalism was
showcased by the ideology of classical conservatism. The beliefs of

Abstract: The choice between fair value and historical cost accounting is the subject of longstanding
controversy among accounting academics and regulators. Nevertheless, the market based evidence on
this subject is very limited. We study the choice of fair value versus historical cost accounting for non
financial assets in a setting where market forces rather than regulators determine the outcome. In

We study valuation practices for arguably the most controversial (non financial) asset groups:
property, plant and equipment (PPE), investment property, and intangibles. Out of the twenty nine
European countries that mandated IFRS from 2005, we select the United Kingdom
(UK) and Germany because they have the largest financial markets in Europe and are historically at
opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of using fair value accounting under the local GAAP.
Specifically, for non financial assets, German GAAP allows only historical cost accounting, whereas
UK GAAP either allows (for PPE) or mandates (for investment property) fair value accounting. As a
result, IFRS expands the available valuation practices in both the UK and
Germany. Indeed, under IFRS, both fair value and historical cost are allowed for PPE and investment

The Theory And Post Modernism Theory
CASE STUDY
Theories in social work play an important role in solving problems among families from different
background. Problems can be evolving from an individual ,or families or may constitute their
concerned societies or communities. In my report I have selected three theories each from the
recommended ones Individual theory, Structural theory and Post Modernism theory., that is cognitive
behavioural therapy, empowerment and narrative therapy respectively. As theory helps us understand
and contest ideas ,also offers a practice framework , I would like to impart these theories on practice.
(payne 2005) I have got a case to apply these principles of each theories. a client named Bob Cruise
had approached me with his family problems..On his first arrival itself he seemed to be
tensed..gradually he shared his problems with me in hope that i could cure him. Bob is from a low
socio economic suburb lived in a rental property ,his wife is disabled one and has getting disability
pension, he has no permanent job to serve his family ,also he has three kids(two adolescent boys and
one little girl). He has worry upon the children s malbehaviourism too..His both adolescent children are
disrespectful, to them and giving abusive words. Hence he is anxious about his future and told me his
money will be taken from them if they get well..In my perspective , I like to solve this problem by
using psychodynamic theory that is cognitive behavioural therapy..I

The Temporomandibular Muscles In The Human Body
The temporomandibular joints, located on either side of your head, allow you a range of motion so
that you can speak, chew, swallow, yawn and move your jaw from side to side. But
temporomandibular joint is such a mouthful to pronounce (no pun intended) most people, including
doctors and dentists, refer to this joint as the TMJ. Although to really understand how unique and
complex these joints are, it helps to know a bit about TMJ anatomy.
Parts of the TMJ
The mandible is the largest bone of the face and the only bone in your skull that can move. While your
teeth are located in the bottom U shaped portion of this bone, the mandible has two vertical
extensions, extending from each side, with an elliptical shaped condyle at the top. The TMJ is formed
as a result of the condyles articulating with the temporal bone in the cranium. However, a fibrous disk,
called the articular disc, cushions the space between these two bones and keeps them from touching. A
synovial membrane, synovial fluid, blood vessels, and nerves, as well as connective tissue are found in
the area behind the articular disc. In addition, three ligaments function to stabilize the joint, prevent
dislocation and support the weight of the mandibular bone. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

customers. It is that making products for consumers to use the products better with more conveniences
and values.
Question 2: What are the causes and consequences of BMW s quality problems with newly launched
products? What should be done to improve launch quality?

It would save the time for solving problems with tool design, the part, or the process before the actual
production starts and would save the money at last. 2. Let the vendors supply the prototype parts.
They are the specialist for the products. They have more experience and skills in their filed. Using
them in development process let them fix our problems in advance. After completing the final design
approval, let them supply the parts for commercial production, too. It will make the relationships
between BMW and vendors more cooperative and friendly. 3. Shorten the period from pilot
production to commercial production. Apply pre production tools in pilot production as early as
possible and get rid of and shorten the period of factory pilot production if possible.
Regarding future development projects, same changes should be applied, I think.
Question 4: What changes would you recommend in the way BMW develops new models? What
attributes of newly launched products would you expect to improve as a result of these
recommendations? Which attributes might deteriorate?
Answer: I recommend like; 1. Design for production. In BMW, designing is the first thing in
development. However I think, design people don t consider efficient production engineering. If they
make production engineering into design consideration, the development process will be more
efficient and quality problems and period will decrease. However the creativity can be injured. 2.

Essay about Only a Girl in Boys and Girls by Alice Munro
Only a Girl in Boys and Girls
Alice Munro s short story, Boys and Girls, explores the different roles of men and women in society
through a young girl s discovery of what it means to be a girl. A close examination of the elements of
a short story as they are used in Boys and Girls helps us to understand the meaning of the story.
The story is set in the 1940s, on a fox farm outside of Jubilee, a rural area only twenty miles away
from the county jail. The farm is a place that reflects the ingenuity of the narrator s father. The pens
for the foxes are arranged in neat rows, inside a high guard fence like a medieval town . The pens each

The only other dynamic character is Laird, her little brother. At the beginning of the story he is very
young and obeys his big sister, no matter what she tells him to do; at the end, he too has grown up
somewhat and no longer accepts her authority unquestioningly. He puts an end to their bedtime
singing ceremony when he tells her, You sound silly, and tells on her when she lets the horse escape.
Laird is the only character beside Henry Bailey that is given a name. His name, a Scotch form of the
title Lord, demonstrates his importance to the family, as the only boy, and his place in society, which
will have more respect for him than for his sister. Yet, in the story it is evident that the narrator is just

girl that her mother expects her to be a help inside the house, not outside of it. The other characters are
the narrator s father, her mother, and the hired hand, Henry Bailey. Henry is someone whom the
children admire for his ability to make his stomach growl at will, and for his laughter, which was full

characteristics that adults might find vulgar, but that are wondrous and exciting to the children. The
father is a creative, inventive man and a hard worker, who keeps his thoughts to himself but, in the

Maya Ceramics Essay
There are many different types of styles and cultures that affect the work of ceramics. One type of
culture that was very interesting was the Pre Columbian Maya culture of Mesoamerica. The natural
environment that the Mayans lived in offered a wealth of materials and ideas to give works of
beautiful art. The Maya used ceramics every day, small cups for drinking vessels, tall cylinders for
storing and pouring ritual beverages, and plates for all sorts of delicious foodstuffs, from tamales to
corncakes served with sauces ( Miller 190). The Maya had specific techniques and shared similarities
with the ancient Greeks regarding how they formed their own clay slips.

The larger sites spread out political and economic influence over increasing lengths to include new
resident populations, creating spacious and powerful political hierarchies. By AD 500, Classic Maya
civilization was civic and hierarchical. Innumerable rituals, both private and public chaperoned these
developments. These rituals required all the effects of prominence, including unique painted pottery
ware for the accompanying feasts.
The painted vessels attended an auxiliary significant role as social currency within the domain of élite
gift exchange. Many of these vessels finally ended in interment as part of the funerary offerings.
One of the exceptional attributes of Classic Maya painted pottery is the aspect of painted parchment
texts around their upper rims as well as within the pictorial views on the vessels. These texts were
utilized as a principal designs feature, as relational devices to fabric the pictorial field and to stand in
as the rooflines and pillars of the architectural surroundings portrayed on many vessels.
Most substantial characteristic of Classic Maya pottery which acclaimed it to function as an effectual

Magnet Schools Case Study
Public schools need to be competitive and imaginative when marketing their campuses so they are
viewed by the community as safe and with stronger academic programs. It is imperative to improve
the quality of teaching and learning in schools because people like to be part of a successful system.
The push to market traditional districts and regular schools is stronger than it s been before, said Rich
Bagin, the executive director of the National School Public Relations Association in Rockville, Md.
We have principals coming to us and saying we have a great school here, but everybody seems to be
leaning toward what s new (Samuels, 2012). The new can redefined as public education and can be
achieved through marketing by getting people to know you, like you, and trust you.

Magnet schools remain part of the public school system and operate under the same administration
and school board (Chen, 2015). Magnet schools have a specialized curricular focus such as science,
technology, engineering, and math. It also focuses on the arts and educational or career paths. Magnet
schools are schools of choice and students are enrolled based on their interest. Funding for magnet
schools differ from public schools because they receive additional funding for their students covering
supplies, teachers, and educational programs. Magnet schools give parents an option of sending their
child to a school with a specialized focus. The fact that magnet schools offer families a choice with
regard to their child s education is seen as a primary advantage as well. This increased competition,
supporters argue, actually benefits children in all schools, magnet or otherwise, because public schools
seek to improve their academic programs in order to keep students in their schools (Chen,

Flower Morphology And Honey Bees
Flower Morphology. Flowers in blueberry are characterized by their bell shaped corollas, with
stamens and anthers inside and a stigma sometimes protruding past the flower aperture (Eck and
Mainland, 1971) (Figure 1). Blueberry flowers have elongated corolla tubes and poricidal anthers,
which tends to make pollination by honey bees difficult (Ritzinger and Lyrene, 1999). Variation in
flower size and morphology between cultivars has been shown to impact insect foraging activity and,
as a result, fruit set (Courcelles et al., 2013). Corolla length and aperture diameter appear to be some
of the most important floral traits for pollen and nectar accessibility to honey bees, which impacts
pollination and fertilization. As shown by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it is well established that fertilization and yields are significantly increased when flowers
are cross pollinated (Ehlenfeldt, 2001; Krebs and Hancock, 1990; Vander Kloet, 1984; Vander Kloet
and Lyrene, 1987; Wood, 1968). Yields are also generally increased through cross pollination with the
aid of insect pollinators (Ehlenfeldt, 2001; Krebs and Hancock, 1990). Generally, fewer tetrads of
outcrossed pollen are required to reach pollen load saturation than with self pollination (Parrie and
Lang, 1992). However, pollen tubes from self pollinated plants grow at the same rate as outcrossed
pollen once germination occurs (Krebs and Hancock, 1988; Vander Kloet and Lyrene, 1987). Only a
fraction of ovules develop into seeds, with over 100 ovules being common to highbush blueberry fruit
and fewer than 50 seeds forming (Pritts et al., 1992). Seed number is positively correlated to fruit size
(until saturation occurs) and seed abortion is dependent on the level of self fertility (Pritts et al., 1992;
Vestrheim et al., 1996).
Pollination in highbush blueberry. In blueberry production, commercially managed honey bees,
specifically the Italian honey bee (Apis mellifera ligustica ; commonly referred to as honey bee ) are
primarily responsible for pollination. Wet and cool spring weather limits honey bee activity and
subsequently can negatively affect pollination and fruit set. The Northeastern region of the United
States, including Michigan, is

Book Review of The Return of Martin Guerre Essay
In The Return of Martin Guerre, one man s impersonation of an heir from an influential peasant family
in the French village of Artigat ultimately leads to his public execution. The tale of Arnaud du Tilh
alias Pansette (meaning the belly ) is full of ironies, not the least of which is his death at the hands of a
man who by some accounts harbored some admiration for the quick witted peasant. Set in a time and
place where a hardly discernible line separated proper behavior from that which was grounds for
death, du Tilh was guilty of more than one serious charge. Yet he was well known as a strong farmer,
loving husband, shrewd rural merchant, and eloquent speaker. Arnaud s actions are not the result of his
own audacity, rather of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Du Tilh knew he had the intelligence to pull it off, and his old life was not holding him back.
There are a few plausible reasons as to why Arnaud wanted a new identity, but why did he go as far as
he did in his impersonation? For one, Guerre s inheritance was larger, but did he happen to know that
when his role began? What started for du Tilh as a simple act of cleverness evolved into an elaborate
charade, a chance to start an entirely new life. Du Tilh didn t only want money, he wanted a fresh start,
a chance to put his skills to good use and force a path for himself. Pansette was moving beyond the
mask of the carnival player and the stratagems of the mere inheritance seeker to forge a new identity
and a new life for himself in the village on the Leze. The thought of a family, as well as a decent
inheritance must have sounded good to the peasant from Sajas. However, the thought of duping an
entire village must have been even more tempting to the prankster Pansette. During his trial at
Toulouse, his suspicion of conjuring spirits to aid his deception came to the fore. The accused seemed
to have an air of magic about him. Trying to take him off guard, President de Mansencal asked him
how he had invoked the evil spirit that taught him so much about the people of Artigat. Coras said he
paled and for once hesitated... This reaction, I think, may have resulted not only from the defendant s

Evaluation Of The Execution Of An Evaluation
Program Evaluation Chapters 11 12 Warranting the execution of an evaluation is not practical reality
for all programs, policies, organizations, as it is imperative for the evaluator to assess all factors. More
specifically, The temptation to evaluate everything may be compelling in an idealistic sense, but it
ignores many practical realities (Fitzpatrick, Sanders Worthen, 2011, p. 259. Ones ability to identify
appropriate opportunities requires essential skillsets, knowledge, and the ability to analyze each
condition. In today s society the primary drive behind an evaluation is due to a mandated funding
source, thus seeking accountability regarding public funded programs (Fitzpatrick, Sanders Worthen,
2011). Identifying the purpose of the evaluation is often times vague, requiring the evaluator to
examine significant materials pertaining to the stakeholders, as well as properly identifying objectives
and expectancies held by the stakeholders (Fitzpatrick, Sanders Worthen, 2011). This process requests
the evaluator to review the purpose of the program, the users, the program, program theory, relevant
resources, and appropriate contextual issues. The evaluation process can have significant positive
impacts on both the stakeholders and the evaluator, as communication, knowledge, and relationships
are established. Thus, Evaluation can also educate stakeholders, empowering them to become active in
the evaluations, by helping them gain skills in questioning

history of depression, past divorce and no significant other, admissions of guilt over an affair, having
no hobbies and getting all her satisfaction from work, it is likely that she has or current is experiencing
some level of loneliness, and her past attempts are potentially indicative of hopelessness; all these
factors put her at a minimum of a moderate risk, but further information would probably lead to a high
risk. The divorce, lack of relationship or mention of friendships does put the loneliness at a high risk
due to having limited support (Jackson Cherry Erford, 2018). There is no mention of substance abuse.

A Small Place Analysis
Jamaica Kincaid s novel A Small Place is a fictional novel about her life growing up on an island that
has been imperialised by the British. Jamaica Kincaid shows acrimony to the colonization of her
country, towards the corrupt government that has stunted the growth of her country, towards the white
people that took Antigua in their hands and molded it into something embryonic. The dictionary
defines third world as the underdeveloped nations of the world, especially those with widespread
poverty, with this description, Antigua will be classified as a third world country after achieving their
independence from the British. A Small Place reveals that post colonial Antigua is still pinned by a
form of slavery through the nation s poor economy, government corruption, and the impoverished
Antiguans. The poor economy and corrupt government are hand in hand to help create the
impoverished Antiguans.
The corrupt government of Antigua restricts their citizens ability to buy specific goods, like cars, in
order to benefit the people working in the government, banks are encouraged by the government to
make loans available for cars, but loans for houses not so easily available; and if you ask again why,
you will be told that the two main car dealerships in Antigua are owned in part or outright by ministers

Comparing My Last Duchess And The Cask Of Amontillado
William Shakespeare s Othello presents the dangers of evil when it s in the form of jealousy. In the
play Othello, Shakespeare uses the characters of Iago, Othello and Roderigo to prove that jealousy is
at the root of all evil. Within the play, Shakespeare uses the emotion of jealousy to motivate the
destruction of Othello. Iago s jealousy towards Cassio being Othello s lieutenant is proof of how
jealousy can take the form of evil by causing competition, sexual suspicion and death for the other
characters in the play. The concentration of jealousy and evil in Othello is similar to the theme of
jealousy and evil in Robert Browning s My Last Duchess and The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar
Allan Poe. In Robert Browning s My Last Duchess the theme of jealousy motivated the Duke to
murder his wife, he couldn t support the way the Duchess treated other people and the thought that
other people had the same power as him over his wife. In The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan

The State Of Lying By William Shakespeare
The state of lying is a convincing art that not many people can pull off effectively. There are different
factors that have to be taken into account in order to consider something as a good lie. In a text, 3
factors that make up a convincing lie are the character and their traits, the situation involved and how
persuasive they are. Speech is a thing of beauty as it can be manipulated in many ways to get people to
believe you. A character s traits allow a person to observe their behavior and how they are able to
manipulate the language. Odysseus is able to use his cunning to manipulate the language into his favor

The person s ability to sway the language in their way against their opponent allows them to
manipulate their minds. There are always liars throughout many texts but what separate them from the
exceptional liars are these factors. A character is often considered strong or weak based on the
language and behavior during the epic or story. That same language along with the person s traits, can
determine whether that character is a great liar or not. In the Odyssey, Odysseus goes to great lengths
to lie and deceive the suitors into thinking he s a beggar. During the fight against the beggar Odysseus
downplays the whole situation by stating Friends, how can an old man, worn down with pain, stand to
a young buck? Its just this belly of mine, this troublemaker, tempts to take a licking. (Od.377.60 63).
Odysseus lie sets up how shrewd he is, allowing the beggar king to believe that he could take on
Odysseus with ease. Odysseus uses his wisdom brilliantly by trying to obtain some sympathy making
him fight someone who is beyond younger then he is. Odysseus knows his character and how wise he
is which allows him to use that to his advantage. He uses his physical appearance as a beggar to
convince the suitors of how poor he was that he needed to beg. Another character who uses their traits
to their advantage is the daughter of Zeus, Helen. Helen, who is the wife of King Menelaus, is the
main point as to why the Trojan war even begun. Her disappearance caused King Menelaus

Moreover, the use of pictographs can improve cross cultural communication. Pictograms is a visual

made many drawings. His contributions to art came in a period that historians call the Dutch Golden

power and political influence reached their pinnacles.
In all, Rembrandt produced around 600 paintings, 300 etchings, and 2,000 drawings. He was a prolific
painter of self portraits, producing almost a hundred of them (including some 20 etchings) throughout

By 1631, Rembrandt had established such a good reputation that he received several assignments for
portraits from Amsterdam. As a result, he moved to that city and into the house of an art dealer,
Hendrick van Uylenburgh. This move eventually led, in 1634, to the marriage of Rembrandt and
Hendrick s greatniece, Saskia van Uylenburg. This was obviously a marriage for love. Although she
came from a good family (her father had been burgomaster of Leeuwarden), Saskia was an orphan and
was probably not very wealthy. She lived with her sister in Frisia and did not have many grand
connections in Amsterdam. These events, however, are widely disputed.
In 1639, Rembrandt and Saskia moved to a prominent house in the Jodenbreestraat in the Jewish
quarter, which later became the Rembrandt House Museum. Although they were affluent the couple
had several setbacks in their personal life. Three of their children died shortly after birth. Only their
fourth child, a son, Titus, who was born in 1641, survived into adulthood. Saskia died in 1642 soon
after Titus s birth, probably from tuberculosis.
After her death he began an affair with Titus s nurse, a widow called Geertje Dircx. This ended in a
lawsuit. Geertje claimed that Rembrandt had broken his promise to marry her, and demanded that the
council force him to marry her. The council did not go that far but Rembrandt was asked to pay her a

the entire body spirit continuum to a higher level and to experience themselves as one with the Dao.
With this in mind we can see that to Daoist the human body is viewed as a collection of the cosmic
energy qi (Kuhn, 2). Qi, is the fundamental energy at life s source. Like the Dao there is only one qi.
At conception a tiny bit of Heavenly qi is given to the human body. It maintains life and growth,
supports reproduction of life, and declines with age. At the time of death, the qi is completely gone
(Furth,21). There are two major types of qi, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without light there can be no shadow. They are allows interacting with one another, moving in cycles
of days and seasons. They regulate the movement of qi within the body, thus the path and momentum
of changes within the body. Yin and yang is further divided categories according to Five Phases (wu
xing), Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. These Five Phases, when applied to the human body,
explain the dynamic relationships and bodily affinities of five basic systems of visceral function
(zang) and are associated with Liver, Heart, Spleen, Lung, and Kidney (Furth,23). Inner Alchemy
Neidan 內丹 (inner alchemy) is a collection of physical, mental, and spiritual practices that Daoist use
to create an immortal spiritual body that will survive after death. There is no clear date for when
neidan was first established. However, many scholars have found many individual pieces that
contributed to its development. Classical Daoist texts, correlative cosmology, Yijing 易經 (Book of
Changes) mythology, meditational and physical disciplines of yangsheng 养生 (nourishing life),
cosmological traditions of waidan 外丹 (external alchemy), medical theory, Buddhist soteriology and
Confucian moral philosophy are all a part of neidan. (Pregadio and Skar, 464). It was not until the
12th century that all of these pieces came together to form the neidan practice. For most of the last
millennium the term neidan was not used to describe this practice. Jindan 金丹 (Golden Elixir) was

1) Process of Transformation
Goods and services are both areas of operations, this means that they will change the state of any input

For Tesco to set its goal and to satisfy all its stakeholders (customers, suppliers, employees, the
society) it is important to identify and analyse its five performance objectives. These objectives
consist of:
The quality objective: want to do things right
The quality objective for Tesco means that the operation manager makes sure of that the store
environment looks good so that it attract customers, and that they provide customer service. If Tesco
provides good customer service and makes sure of keeping the environment looking good, the
customers are more likely to come back instead of going to Tesco s competitors.
The quality inside the operation is also important. If someone makes a mistake within the operation,
time and money must be spent correcting this mistake.
If the operation have not reordered all the goods they need, this can lead to irritated customers and
lower revenue for the operation.
The speed objective: want to do things fast
The speed objectives is concerned with how long time it will take the customer to get to the store, buy
the product and arrive back home again. The customers would like to do this as quick as possible and
Tesco s operation managers should try to make this process quicker than its competitors.
Speed is also important inside the operation. If the movement of materials and information is not
quick enough, this could delay the process of serving the customers as quickly as possible.
The dependability objective: want

This gives the west and Israel a reason to be more worried about the issue. However in all of this there is an admission lately because Iran and the P 5 +1 have reach a nuclear deal in order to loosen the harsh sanctions they have received resulting in billions of dollars back to the Iranians in return for shutting down the program for half a year. However if this politeness and skill with people fails then it is time for crime prevention method to go into play here and possible military action. There are other nations that have nuclear weapons like India and Pakistan without a permission slip. So all in all it seems to be unfair that Iran is being discriminated in all of this but there are clear differences between Iran and Pakistan or even India. Now some political scientists believe that Iran independent power is being violated if they have to sign a permission slip to make legal their nuclear program according the IAEA. This would have been a good argument if Iran didn t accept the deal. But Iran did and they agree to the UN that when the parts deal demands the Iranians to reduce their purity on their uranium to a lower percentage where it is suited for nuclear power only to prevent a nuclear armed Iran. So in terms of a nuclear program the Iranians already accepted to do this directly or indirectly even ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Consequences Of The Viking Age This is one of the first account of the raid which the Vikings carried out in England in 793, which had instigated fear and shock throughout Europe. Not only because it had not been anticipated, but mostly due to the destruction of the House of God which had fundamental functions and symbolism in Medieval Christianity. • 4. Serbian Nationalism And Identity Of A Nation State s... Perhaps one of the biggest points of contention in Serbia is nationalism and identity. Serbian nationalism is especially unique due to its particular ethnic implications. It can be traced back to the rise of nationalism in the Balkans during Ottoman rule. Serbia has existed between various empires and nation states. Many Serbians voice the need for self autonomy, often citing being ruled by outsiders for hundreds of years. Today Serbia seen by its people as an unfinished state. Thus, the need for creating autonomous identity is especially relevant.1 Ristic in her essay on Serbian identity, that the formation of a nation state s identity is crucial to its wellbeing. In general, identity is built upon three essential interdependent elements: 1. birth, which creates ties to family, nation and to a concrete geographical space; 2. culture, which forms individuals and groups spiritually and emotionally; 3. acceptance of common values which help creating communities of values. Hence identity can be determined on the basis of the following categories: place of living (town or district of town, country, continent etc), religion, family, profession, nation, age class, ideology etc.2 The problem with Serbian national identity is that there is not enough security in the aforementioned criterion historically. Ristic states that defining national identity upon values and ideology leads in Serbia to two relatively opposite understandings of national identity and the values and norms ... One s life is not charted by how much money they make, or how big their house is, because in the blink of an eye, it can all be gone. I believe life is charted by the impact you have on others. Starting this book has reshaped how I think about the growing problem of homelessness. How I address the problem, and how I see and want to find ways to fix it more than ever. Growing up I ve heard many reasons why people are homeless. One is that they didn t have enough money to support themselves, because they spent it on wants, and not necessities like, drugs, and alcohol. Another is that a person is mentally challenged, and doesn t have the capacity, or skills to function in, the real world and can t support themselves, and end up on the streets. The Essence Of Being A Leader 3 Focus on the essence of being a leader Being a leader is not a position you gain; it s not about having a special title or a specific role within an organisation. Being a leader is about behaviour and actions. You can be a leader even if you aren t at a senior level at an organisation and you can find examples of people who call themselves leaders because of their position of power, but who in fact act more like bosses. Whatever you do, always remember the essence of being a leader: sharing your vision with people and inspiring them to follow your cause. Examine different leaders, listen to them sharing their wisdom and discover the characteristics, skills and traits that make them successful at what they do. You can find many resources on leadership and being a leader. One great way is to watch interviews. For example, the YouTube clip below has Richard Branson sharing his views on the essential quality of a leader: Use the information and experience to develop your own leadership style and strategy. Identify your strengths and weaknesses as a leader, utilising them as part of your chosen style. By understanding your own behaviour and how it influences your abilities as a leader, you can continue developing your skills. • 12. William Chaucer s The Friar s Tale Society has always judged a person on his level of morality. This level of judgment has been evident since the immoral acts of Adam and Eve were committed. Some of these acts are dishonesty, adultery, and ignorance. The Friar s Tale makes these moral issues clear through various characters. The summoner and the Devil both show dishonesty, abuse of power, and mercilessness. In this short story, Chaucer illustrates the theme of immorality and how it affects the character of all the persons in the tale. .Characters display dishonesty in The Friar s Tale . The summoner steals the money that he collects from peasants. Chaucer illustrates this act of immorality when he says, Now truly...so do I. I never spare to take a thing, knows God, unless it be too heavy or too hot. What I get for myself, and privately, no kind of conscience for such things have I . (170 174). The summoner is being dishonest to the people that he collects from by not telling him that he keeps the money. The summoner admits to the Devil that he steals. The summoner also says that he has no conscience. Therefore he can not be kept from evil. (Gray 115) Bowden addresses the summoner s immorality when he states, Fact and fiction both condemn him as especially licentious and dishonest. He also mentions how Gower writes of him as pretending to be poor but, in actuality, as being as rich as a king (Bowden 55). Stealing is immoral, and Bowden reinforces that the summoner is immoral and steals beyond need. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It embraced the ideas of individualism which were established in the Renaissance and Reformation era. The Renaissance period sparked a belief in the importance of the individual in society. It helped promote the beliefs of classical liberalism which gradually formed into the liberal ideology of the 19th century. The jobs of the skilled textile workers were lost and replaced by machines operated by unskilled laborers. The Luddites protested and even broke into factories, destroying many machinery. Chartism was another example of the response to the unrecognized individual rights. Chartism was a working class movement with the main focus on political and social reform in society (Fielding, 2009, 132). The Chartists wanted a political and social reform in society because they could be granted the rights to participate in these aspects of society. Utopian Socialists were humanitarians who advocated an end to the appalling conditions of the average worker in the industrial capitalist countries (Fielding, 2009, 134). Out of the twenty nine European countries that mandated IFRS from 2005, we select the United Kingdom (UK) and Germany because they have the largest financial markets in Europe and are historically at opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of using fair value accounting under the local GAAP. Specifically, for non financial assets, German GAAP allows only historical cost accounting, whereas UK GAAP either allows (for PPE) or mandates (for investment property) fair value accounting. As a result, IFRS expands the available valuation practices in both the UK and Germany. Blueberry flowers have elongated corolla tubes and poricidal anthers, which tends to make pollination by honey bees difficult (Ritzinger and Lyrene, 1999). Variation in flower size and morphology between cultivars has been shown to impact insect foraging activity and, as a result, fruit set (Courcelles et al., 2013). Corolla length and aperture diameter appear to be some of the most important floral traits for pollen and nectar accessibility to honey bees, which impacts pollination and fertilization. As shown by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, it is well established that fertilization and yields are significantly increased when flowers are cross pollinated (Ehlenfeldt, 2001; Krebs and Hancock, 1990; Vander Kloet, 1984; Vander Kloet and Lyrene, 1987; Wood, 1968). Yields are also generally increased through cross pollination with the aid of insect pollinators (Ehlenfeldt, 2001; Krebs and Hancock, 1990). Generally, fewer tetrads of outcrossed pollen are required to reach pollen load saturation than with self pollination (Parrie and Lang, 1992). However, pollen tubes from self pollinated plants grow at the same rate as outcrossed pollen once germination occurs (Krebs and Hancock, 1988; Vander Kloet and Lyrene, 1987). Only a fraction of ovules develop into seeds, with over 100 ovules being common to highbush blueberry fruit and fewer than 50 seeds forming (Pritts et al., 1992). Seed number is positively correlated to fruit size (until saturation occurs) and seed abortion is dependent on the level of self fertility (Pritts et al., 1992; Vestrheim et al., 1996). Pollination in highbush blueberry. In blueberry production, commercially managed honey bees, specifically the Italian honey bee (Apis mellifera ligustica ; commonly referred to as honey bee ) are primarily responsible for pollination. Wet and cool spring weather limits honey bee activity and subsequently can negatively affect pollination and fruit set. The Northeastern region of the United States, including Michigan, is ... • 27. Book Review of The Return of Martin Guerre Essay In The Return of Martin Guerre, one man s impersonation of an heir from an influential peasant family in the French village of Artigat ultimately leads to his public execution. The tale of Arnaud du Tilh alias Pansette (meaning the belly ) is full of ironies, not the least of which is his death at the hands of a man who by some accounts harbored some admiration for the quick witted peasant. Set in a time and place where a hardly discernible line separated proper behavior from that which was grounds for death, du Tilh was guilty of more than one serious charge. Yet he was well known as a strong farmer, loving husband, shrewd rural merchant, and eloquent speaker. Arnaud s actions are not the result of his own audacity, rather of ... There are a few plausible reasons as to why Arnaud wanted a new identity, but why did he go as far as he did in his impersonation? For one, Guerre s inheritance was larger, but did he happen to know that when his role began? What started for du Tilh as a simple act of cleverness evolved into an elaborate charade, a chance to start an entirely new life. Du Tilh didn t only want money, he wanted a fresh start, a chance to put his skills to good use and force a path for himself. Pansette was moving beyond the mask of the carnival player and the stratagems of the mere inheritance seeker to forge a new identity and a new life for himself in the village on the Leze. The thought of a family, as well as a decent inheritance must have sounded good to the peasant from Sajas. However, the thought of duping an entire village must have been even more tempting to the prankster Pansette. During his trial at Toulouse, his suspicion of conjuring spirits to aid his deception came to the fore. The accused seemed to have an air of magic about him. Trying to take him off guard, President de Mansencal asked him how he had invoked the evil spirit that taught him so much about the people of Artigat. Coras said he paled and for once hesitated... Evaluation Of The Execution Of An Evaluation Program Evaluation Chapters 11 12 Warranting the execution of an evaluation is not practical reality for all programs, policies, organizations, as it is imperative for the evaluator to assess all factors. More specifically, The temptation to evaluate everything may be compelling in an idealistic sense, but it ignores many practical realities (Fitzpatrick, Sanders Worthen, 2011, p. 259. Ones ability to identify appropriate opportunities requires essential skillsets, knowledge, and the ability to analyze each condition. In today s society the primary drive behind an evaluation is due to a mandated funding source, thus seeking accountability regarding public funded programs (Fitzpatrick, Sanders Worthen, 2011). Identifying the purpose of the evaluation is often times vague, requiring the evaluator to examine significant materials pertaining to the stakeholders, as well as properly identifying objectives and expectancies held by the stakeholders (Fitzpatrick, Sanders Worthen, 2011). This process requests the evaluator to review the purpose of the program, the users, the program, program theory, relevant resources, and appropriate contextual issues. The evaluation process can have significant positive impacts on both the stakeholders and the evaluator, as communication, knowledge, and relationships are established. There are different factors that have to be taken into account in order to consider something as a good lie. In a text, 3 factors that make up a convincing lie are the character and their traits, the situation involved and how persuasive they are. Speech is a thing of beauty as it can be manipulated in many ways to get people to believe you. A character s traits allow a person to observe their behavior and how they are able to manipulate the language. The person s ability to sway the language in their way against their opponent allows them to manipulate their minds. There are always liars throughout many texts but what separate them from the exceptional liars are these factors. A character is often considered strong or weak based on the language and behavior during the epic or story. That same language along with the person s traits, can determine whether that character is a great liar or not. In the Odyssey, Odysseus goes to great lengths to lie and deceive the suitors into thinking he s a beggar. During the fight against the beggar Odysseus downplays the whole situation by stating Friends, how can an old man, worn down with pain, stand to a young buck? Its just this belly of mine, this troublemaker, tempts to take a licking. (Od.377.60 63). Odysseus lie sets up how shrewd he is, allowing the beggar king to believe that he could take on Odysseus with ease. Odysseus uses his wisdom brilliantly by trying to obtain some sympathy making him fight someone who is beyond younger then he is. Odysseus knows his character and how wise he is which allows him to use that to his advantage. He uses his physical appearance as a beggar to convince the suitors of how poor he was that he needed to beg. Although she came from a good family (her father had been burgomaster of Leeuwarden), Saskia was an orphan and was probably not very wealthy. She lived with her sister in Frisia and did not have many grand connections in Amsterdam. These events, however, are widely disputed. In 1639, Rembrandt and Saskia moved to a prominent house in the Jodenbreestraat in the Jewish quarter, which later became the Rembrandt House Museum. The challenge for Daoist is to transform the entire body spirit continuum to a higher level and to experience themselves as one with the Dao. With this in mind we can see that to Daoist the human body is viewed as a collection of the cosmic energy qi (Kuhn, 2). Qi, is the fundamental energy at life s source. Like the Dao there is only one qi. At conception a tiny bit of Heavenly qi is given to the human body. It maintains life and growth, supports reproduction of life, and declines with age.
