Today’s objectives are...
We will define and practice the new words for Act
4 and we will make inferences about what we
have read so far in Act 4.

We will finish reading Act 4 and begin Act 5 and
will write comprehension questions about what
we read.

We will discuss and practice making and
defending an argument.

We will discuss the choices for the final project.
Warm Up -
       Vocab and Inferences
 For a warm up activity today, we will:
   Complete an Act 4 “Words and Meanings”
   handout.
   Make inferences about Act 4, Scenes 1, 2 and
   3 using evidence from the story.

    Begin on page 78: Act 4, Scene 4.

    Continue using summarize and
    synthesize strategy while reading.

   Think about what you are reading, because we will write

choose a final project to do for the end of our
book.
  All of the choices have to do with writing.
  You (and your partner) can either use the
  computer to type your final project or your and
  your partner can write it by hand.

We will have work time in class for your
project - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
We will share our projects with other
students on Thursday.
Final Project Choices
--Compare and contrast two characters from Romeo and
Juliet.
--Find another example of a real life Romeo and Juliet
story and compare and contrast it with Shakespeare's
R+J.
--If you could re-write any part of the play, what would
you change and why?
--Who is responsible for the tragedy at the end of the play
and why?
--Write your own fiction or nonfiction Romeo and Juliet
story.
--Write about what you think happens next in the play.
