3. Homework Review
• “Identifying Decimal Place Value”
– page 84
– take our your decimal place value chart to help
you.
• Let’s discuss the answers for each problem,
numbers 1-18.
• Let’s go around the room and each person
can say an answer or they can also say
“pass” if they do not want to share.

4. Homework Review
• “Relating Decimals and Fractions”
– page 84
– take out your hundredth grids to help you.
• Let’s go around the room to read off each
answer. You can say “pass” if you do not
wish to share.

5. Converting
Fractions to Decimals
Step 1: Write the fraction as a division problem.
Step 2: Write a decimal point after numerator and directly
above it in the answer (quotient). Write a zero in the
dividend after the decimal point. (We usually divide to
three decimal places, so you may need to write three
zeros, depending on the fraction you start with.)
Step 3: Divide. Place a zero in the ones place of the
quotient.
