This document analyzes water quality from dug wells in five villages in Gadhinglaj Tahsil, Maharashtra. Water samples were tested for nutrients, heavy metals, and physicochemical parameters and compared to WHO, BIS, and ICMR standards. Total hardness exceeded limits in four samples, and chloride exceeded limits in all but one sample. Other parameters like pH, EC, alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, nitrate, phosphate, sulfate, zinc, manganese, copper, and fluoride were within permissible limits in all samples. While most water quality indicators meet standards, high hardness and chloride content suggests treatment is needed prior to domestic use.
