- 2. Process • To start with when first starting production I wanted to look at different types of pixel art. I originally looked at this character for inspiration I liked the traditional look of this little pixel art character. • After establishing my personal preference to pixel art characters I decided to mimic this but in my own way • I found this a struggle at first due to the fine detail involved. • However I got there in the end, creating my own pixel art character.
- 3. Process • Once I had decided on creating my own pixel art character, I had to come up the basic colour themes of my character to match my game. • I decided to make a female character simple because I felt there was not enough female character/icons across the gaming spectrum, therefore I took inspiration from the app game, doodle jump.
- 4. Process • It was important for me to make two pause screens. • Reasons being that I wanted to show case my ability to create backgrounds with different colours and settings. • It also insured the my audience did not get bored of seeing the same thing over again. • I also liked the idea of using a bright blue sky and a sparkly night sky to add continuity to my work and settings.
- 5. Process • For my game I wanted to create something my own sound effects. • Doing this I used Beep box. • When you first open up Beep Box, it shows a simple interface. In the middle are a few rows spaced out by black spaces. These rows are the rows you can place/remove notes on. You can also add or remove rows by using the scale option to the right of the interface and selecting another option than the default. • To place a note, all you need to do is to click on the rows that are not blackened out. When you press space, or the play button at the top right of the interface, BeepBox automatically plays the notes out loud for you. Using these notes, you can make any song your heart desires.
