Rachel describes her process for creating various media productions including a magazine spread, CD cover, concert poster, music video, and music recording. 2. Process
• I used the ruler tool that can
be found on the top line of
options: view the ruler.
Then I lined it up to find the
middle so all my work is
even. I used the font called
‘Felix’ for my text to make a
clear title that fits well with
the theme. I got the paws
off the internet and used
them as templates and
drew over it to make it my
own and to prevent
copyright.

3. Process
• Me and sim took photos in the studio using a cannon 600D with 18-55mm these are a collection of
what we got at the end of it and from this point on we narrowed it down to what picture options
we should have. 18-55mm is good for the studio as it takes long shots and close up pictures and I
wanted a close up and long shot picture in my magazine.
• By creating a contact sheet it allowed me to view all my photos easily and select the best ones to
use.

4. Process
• I started by cutting out the
background using the magic wand
tool, after this I used ctrl T to
transform the image and put it to
the size I want. I then put some
saturation edits on my skin to
make it slightly more vibrant and
fresh I used bold text to write the
name heading and title I added
sub titles that I would normally
find in a magazine. I used the
magnet lasso to go round my head
and put it over the top of the title.
I added a bar code and a voucher
as well as these are found on
magazines normally. I used the
stroke effect to put the outline
over the writing to make it stand
out even more.

5. Process
• I edited my eyes by using
colours to brighten my
eyes it made a real
effect on the over all
picture. I darkened my
eye brows by using the
burn tool which I also
used on my face to make
me less pale as the make
up had faded slightly
also whitened my eye
whites by colouring
them in white and fading
them.

6. Process
• After this I then added some
more text to the puffs and
added a price to the bar code
so you can see how much it is.
I then went further to add the
web address and the date of
the magazine. At the bottom
above the bar code I put the
different social medias the
magazine is on. I also put on an
offer to go see the voice by
winning tickets as some
magazines offer that as well
and with mine been a music
magazine I thought that the
voice would be a good options
to do.

7. Process
• I started first by cutting
out the background by
using the magic wand
and the eraser tool
and made my skin
darker by using the
burn tool. I then went
to add the title and the
opening paragraph. I
chose pastille pink for
the background as its
girly and goes well
with the picture also.

8. Process
• I then went on the do the paragraphs
into the five things you need to know. I
did this by using the text tool and then
clicking the thumbnail of the text and
going onto the stroke and deciding
what size I wanted the outline. I then
added pictures of the album and a
person I met off x factor to make it look
more realistic to the story of me
winning the x factor I had to crop them
to the right size and transform it. At the
bottom of the album cover there is a
fake web address to my song on i tunes
and fake snapchat Instagram and
twitter so “people” can follow it and
see what I am “up to”. I used black and
white text to go with my outfit so there
was some link to the main picture. I
also added page numbers as well.

• I recorded my music
on a hand held
recorder and moved
them on to audition
dragged them into a
multitrack and
duplicated them to
make a sequence
with a higher toned
back drop and a
lower tones one
also.

10. Process
• I started out by
writing all the text so I
knew what I would be
needing in it and then
chose a background
that fitted well so as
its the same
background as my cd
cover

11. Process
• I added a fancy font for my name
as it is feminine. I the proceeded
to write the tour dates and the
areas they would be at and the
puffs. I also put my single cover to
advertise that as well. I added a
picture of the “artist” l put this so
people can see it and know who it
will be performing also fills in a
good part of the page. I used the
magic wand to erase the white
background of the picture so that
there was no edges and that it
would blend into the background
well. I used Felix titling for the
main writing and Vivaldi for the
Rachel- Marie bit to make it
feminine and stand out to the
other writing.

12. Process
• I started by dragging the clips
into the bottom box and then
worked out which ones I would
be using in the video. When I
had decided I dragged the into
the video box and right clicked
on each of them selected
unlink on the options and the
clicked the bottom line of the
clip and deleted it, this takes
away the sound from the video
so that when I added my music
after you couldn't hear the
background noise afterwards.

13. Process
• I added finally the
vocals and the guitar
in the background
and fitted it to the
exact timing so that
it works with the
backing music I then
exported it and the
added it to my music
video.

14. Process
• I then placed the music
so that it fitted perfect
with the cuts of the
video it was hard
because I didn’t have
many clips to fit it on as
well. Used the cut tool
to trim the videos and
reversed the last clip by
going into the
properties. I then
rendered the whole
thing and then exported
it as a video.
