This document discusses the effectiveness of an optimal preamble-based channel estimation method for filter bank-based multicarrier modulation using offset quadrature amplitude modulation (fbmc/oqam). It highlights the advantages of fbmc/oqam over cyclic prefix-based orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (cp-ofdm) in terms of robustness to frequency offsets and higher bandwidth efficiency, while addressing the challenge of intrinsic interference in the fbmc/oqam systems. The proposed interference approximation method (iam) demonstrates significant performance improvements in channel estimation through optimal preamble sequence design, verified by numerical simulations.
