Identify and discuss the design elements that you incorporated into your bridge.
Design Elements: While building this bridge, the first design element, was the deck
design. We took around one horizontal length of vertical popsicle sticks and lined
them side by side, and repeated. Later we connected them together with a horizontal
popsicle stick. I then took two lines and placed them ontop of eachother to create a
flat surface. This way it will carry a lot of weight, and it will also run smoothly. After
this I created trusses to put on the side, so that the weight would be evenly distributed
amongst the bridge, instead of all the weight on one part. This would help stop the
bridge from immediately bending once weights were put into the bucket. To make
the trusses I had to take popsicle sticks and glue them into a triangle shape, and then
glue them together from the bottom. This way they wouldn t break apart. I then

we see Derek covering his eye gripping swastika tattoo with his hand. His facial
expressionsfilled with remorse as we see his lips over turned like a frown and his
eyes squinting, which allows us to understand his disgust toward his decisions and

While researching in depth Ocular Melanoma, there has been a consistent theme
persisting there is not enough research done to find a way to decrease metastasis
percentage and increase survival rate. The current attempts at decreasing metastasis
and increasing survival rate have stayed the same throughout the course of 4 decades.
The current drug, LS2616, is being used to treat Ocular Melanomapatients, but it is
used to late to feel the full impact of the drug. Research and Development

ultimately up to the patient, but depending on the size and location of the tumor,

A common source of conflict in India is the lack of a Uniform Civil Code. This
argument stems from the discrimination Indian women face under religious personal
laws. A Uniform Civil Code replaces patriarchal personal laws with a common set of
laws that would govern each citizen and cover matters relating to marriage, divorce,
inheritance, adoption and maintenance. While Indiais a democracy, Indian leaders
recognize that there are several religious groups living within their borders so they
strive to be a pluralist country, a country where there is more than just one center of
power, which in India s case are Muslims, Hindus, and Christians. While this
approach looks good in theory, it leaves critical matters such as marriage, dowry, and
property rights solely in the hands of religious leaders. This approach allows for the
subjectivity of religionto be exploited and removes the checks and balances system
that many countries thrive on. The discriminatory nature of these laws is a direct
antithesis to the equality that the Constitution grants all of its citizens. While
religious leaders argue that changing these laws is an assault on the rights provided to
them, it s also critical to note that they directly assault the laws granted to Indian
women. While Articles 25 through 30 of the Indian Constitution protect religious

On the coast of Texas just outside of Houston is a county called Galveston County.
People like to vacation here throughout the year even if it is just the Houstonians
getting away from the city. There is plenty for people to do here from walking the
beaches of Galveston, enjoying the recently built Pleasure Pier on the seawall, or
the Boardwalk Plaza located in the town of Kemah to name a few of the most
popular. These are the things people who visit enjoy yet the people who live here

unemployment statistics in 2012 was at 12,288 we can assume that is a good portion

From the electricity that kept my home warm and powered the lights at school to
providing employment to both my parents for the past 30 years, nuclear power has
been at the center of my life growing up. In Wadsworth, Texas, the South Texas
Project Nuclear Operating Company has been a way a life thousands of people by
providing nearly 1200 jobs and providing carbon free electricity for over 2 million
people. However, this is just one example in just one state in the United States.
According to the Nuclear Energy Institute, 11 percent of the world s energy comes
from nuclear powerplants and for 13 countries it provides more than 25 percent of
their country s energy. However, even though nuclear power has made its mark as
a global competitor in the realm of green energy, incidents such as 3 Mile Island,
Chernobyl, and Fukushima have created a global sense of uneasiness. On top of this
underlying fear, the huge building costs of new nuclear plants has lead to a stunt in
the growth of nuclear energy even though operation costs for nuclear energy at
$0.0219/kW is less than that of coal ($0.023/KW) and almost half that of gas
($0.0451/kW) (IER). Even though nuclear energy has had some setbacks, it is still
safer (short term and long term) than the carbon producing alternatives. The question
at hand is whether we should take an utilitarian perspective by giving more serious
