Web Search For Web Searching Engine Essay
Abstract Web searching engine are mostly used for finding certain information among a huge amount
of data in a minimum amount of period. Profile based personalized web search (PWS) has determine
their effectiveness in improving the quality of various internet search technique. We study security of
privacy protection for PWS applications that as hierarchical user profiles. In this paper we can
implement the PWS system called UPS that can flexibly create profiles by queries while regarding
user definite privacy requirements. Our runtime generalization goals at striking a level between two
predictive metrics that evaluate the effectiveness of personalization and the privacy risk of exposing
the generalized profile. We implemented this system with greedy algorithms, for runtime profile
generalization also provides a runtime prediction mechanism for determining whether personalizing a
query is useful. Extensive experiments prove the effectiveness of our system. The experimental results
also reveal that Greedy algorithms significantly outperform in terms of effectiveness. Index Terms

Hatching At The Beach Research Paper
Moreover, artificial lighting at the beach is a huge cause of losing population for sea turtles, because
sea turtles come to the sore to nest. Most female sea turtles depend on the dark and quiet beach to
reproduce successfully, but if there is too much light these female sea turtles will find a different
location. Having artificial lighting on the beach is endangering to mostly the hatchling and the eggs.
The articles state near shore lighting can cause sea turtle hatchlings to become disoriented when they
are born. Instead, they will wander inland where they often die of dehydration, predation, or even
from being run over on busy coastal streets. (Sea turtle conservancy). The hatching will follow the
light and will lose their direction to the ocean; also it would leave them more to danger because it
would be easier for their predator to spot them. It has also been said that ... host approximately 90% of
all the sea turtle nesting in the U.S. But sadly, over 40% of Florida s beaches are classified as critically
eroding due to changes in the natural landscape of these beaches. So not only is the hatching is going
to lose their direction they might not even find their way to the ocean because their nest is located
somewhere else. This also includes human activities on the beach during day and night time. ... Show

Which mean that if the sea turtles eat their food it can cause some kind of disease which can kill them
and will decrease the population even more? The article states New research suggests that a disease
now killing many sea turtles (fibropapillomas) may be linked to pollution in the oceans and in near
shore waters. (Sea turtle conservancy). I believe that we should this problem because we wouldn t

Increasing Rates of Teenage Pregnancy
The problem to be addressed by this proposal is the issue of teenagers pregnancy rates are increasing.
Since 2007 we have steadily be rising by 1% every year (Center for Disease Control). In addition we
are ranked as the number one nation in the world for having the most teenagers becoming parents. Are
teenagers being prepared and educated adequately in the dangers of sexually transmitted diseases and
the risks of pregnancies? In my experience no, just last year I had a freshman student who gave birth
in October. This incident was shocking and alarming. Also to be determined if teens are in fact
adhering the abstinence only lessons. If not, determining if the curriculum needs to change. 1.4

beneficial in their current life, but become imperative as they enter their adult life. As one becomes an
adult the opportunity of a health class will be non existent therefore this time is unique time we must

ability to be executed effectively, efficiently, and economically. Explain briefly the circumstances,
time, and population that would be participating and the viability to perform the project. The proposed
study is feasible to complete. The investigation will be completed during school hours. Due to the pre

Discuss the Future of Human Geography with Reference to...
Discuss the future of human geography with reference to the approaches that have emerged since the
1950s.
Geography found its roots during periods of exploration when man s knowledge of the world was still
subject to the imagination. For many decades, Europe and the British Empire in particular formed
much of what cartography is today, and environmental determinism was widely used to serve
imperialist needs. Many ideas and theories were highly influenced and composed by upper class
academics and soon critiques were formed. During the mid 1930s, environmental determinism lost
much of its support and regional geography fell into to favour. Soon however, regional geography was
also criticised due to its limiting scope and constricting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pattinson hoped that through a widened willingness to conceive of and discuss the field in terms of
these traditions, geography will be better able to secure the inner unity and outer intelligibility (W.
Pattinson, 1964). This approach to geography aimed to quell the discourse that was prevalent within
geography and tried to pave a clearer way for geographies future. On the other hand, thinking in such
a law based manner, restricts dynamic thinking, which is where human geography draws its strengths.
I felt that Pattinson still asked more how than why but he certainly helped promote the growth of
geography.
Subsequently, The Big Questions was an article written to try and stimulate thoughts of for the future
as well as trying to gain the attention of the media and the public eye. Susan L. Cutter, Reginald
Golledge and William L. Graff wanted to create a dialogue for the future whilst tackling questions that
already plagued the discipline of geography. As for the future of geography, this article ask some
thought provoking questions such as when does geography start and finish? (S.L. Cutter, R.Golledge,
W.L.Graff, 2002) and what are likely to be the major problems of doing the geography of other
planets? (S.L. Cutter, R.Golledge, W.L.Graff, 2002) If we are to answer or even begin to answer these
questions, we must draw upon the past and in particular what has transgressed over the 60 years.
Over these years of the evolution of geography naturally

The Technology Of Human Skeletal Structures
CHAPTER 1
Introduction
The MS Kinect has evolved for gaming purposes initially but sooner it came out with many more
possibilities higher than just gaming so Microsoft decided to launch a separate device (similar to
Kinect for XBOX 360) called as Kinect for Windows , along with a SDK for the developers. One such
possibility is human authentication system based on the anatomy of human skeletal structure which is
more advance and reliable security system. The lead developer who framed the Kinect skeletal
tracking concept as well algorithm, Jamie Shotton realized that there are far more many advance and
useful applications of Kinect beside gaming purpose. One such application is the person identification
and authentication that describes this project work. This technology could be used for instance in
home surveillance system than will more focused on filtrating out an intruder and won t confuse with
family members or pets motion.
1.1 Problem Statement
The problem is simple but BIG enough. CAN WE HAVE MORE SECURE PASSWORD OR
AUTHENICATION SYSTEM ? Most powerful authentication systems are visual based. If we analyse
about the visual based security based system which are mainly camera based system the problem is
about the efficiency or rather limitations of the camera. Firstly typical security cameras cannot
differentiate a person from robotic stuff (like quad copter) or pet , nor can they differentiate the owner
of the home or outside unknown( intruder).Since

Gender Conformity And Expectations Through Time
Orlando by Virginia Woolf addresses the issues of gender conformity and expectations through time;
in this case, three centuries during the Elizabethan Era in the area around Europe. The main character,
Orlando, experiences a gender change during his lifetime to become a female and that drastically
modifies the way that she lives. Through the motif of Orlando s gender change and androgyny,
Orlando experiences both life and love, which is not common for men and women regardless of the
time period. Orlando began life as a young boy, living in a house in the country before being taken
into the city by the Queen. As a child, he encourages himself to chase masculine pursuits in life, as his
father and other ancestors do before him. Despite the encouragement of masculine activities as his
family is known for, during his isolation, he decides instead as an adult that they and their deeds [are]
dust and ashes (Woolf, 81) and that he would like to live life the way that he wants to, as a poet
searching for love. Even as a man, Orlando has the power and authority to live his life how he wishes,
but he always craves love. A poet at heart, Orlando has many loves, such as the girls in his sonnets,
and he always writes about them in the way he finds best. He claims Love [has] meant nothing to him
but sawdust and cinders (40) and he cannot find the love he is always searching for. Without love in
his life, Orlando reaches out to experience new things and thus... this Nobleman [has]...

Flourishing North American Cultures
2000 years before Europeans began to arrive in the New World, the last era of the pre Columbian
development began. North American cultures such as the Mississippian culture, the Hopewell
Tradition, and the Hohokam culture experienced growth and environmental adaptation throughout this
era. Major contributions and innovations of Native Americans have developed and been passed on
through generations of ancestors. Originating in 700 A.D., the Mississippian culture expanded through
the Mississippi Valley and out into the southeastern states of Alabama, Georgia and Florida. For 800
years, until the 1550s, the Mississippian culture prospered. They cultivated a substantial amount of

At the peak of their dynamic culture, the Anasazi developed the Chaco Canyon. Within the canyon,
they constructed many pueblos, totaling nearly seven hundred rooms. In addition, they built water
collection systems and a network of roads. It was a massive achievement in engineering. The founding
fathers of America looked at the Iroquois, who lived along the St. Lawrence River in what is now New
York, as a model of democracy to base America s political system on. From the Iroquois, Europeans
learned of a well developed system of checks, balances and supreme law. Because the Iroquois
influenced the Articles of Confederation, they were one of the most important native groups in North
American history. The federation of the Iroquois enabled them to prosper in independence and protect
themselves from enemies. The Hohokam culture of present day Arizona existed from 300 A.D. to
1200 A.D. The earliest Hohokam people lived in unusually large lodges possibly with their extended
family. The Hohokam men, who were traditionally hunters, hunted large game with spears until the
bow and arrow was introduced around 400 500 A.D. Throughout the culture s lifespan, its
geographical range expanded by at least three to four times. As the Hohokam culture expanded and
their contacts with neighboring tribes increased, trade began to flourish. A surprising variety of

This resource asserts that stewardship is not just about how much money they give to the church. It is
about helping them make better decisions financially. A church also has to realize that they could be
giving to other organizations, but they are giving to the church. Do not take this for granted. It also has
a section on the biblical text development of stewardship. This would be helpful to identify key

Auto Insurance Myths
Ten Auto Insurance Myths Debunked
Myth 1: I ll save money by going for the cheapest quote available.
Fact: When you buy auto insurance, you re basically purchasing peace of mind and the knowledge that
an accident won t mean the end of your savings and a lifetime of debt. However to ensure that you
will be covered for any losses or damages, it s better to opt for quotes from a company that has a
reputation to maintain and the means to pay out when you make a claim. Opting for an obscure, fly by
night company just because it gave you the cheapest quote is a bad idea. If it rejects your claim, or
does not have the funds to pay out, you could potentially lose a fortune.
Myth 2: All I need is Minimum Liability.
Fact: Yes and No. Minimum liability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So an accident doesn t necessarily result in an increase in rates.
Myth 8:Younger drivers always pay obscene interest rates.
Fact: Not necessarily. Many car insurance companies offer young drivers discounts for completing
defensive driver s credits. Others give students below the age of 25 discounts for exceptional
academic performance. Students can also get discounts by installing air bags and anti theft devices. By
availing of these discounts, a student driver can definitely enjoy affordable insurance rates.
Myth 9:Car insurance covers the costs of items stolen from my car.
Fact: Generally, personal possessions left in the car are not covered by car insurance. Some home
insurance policies cover such items, but that varies from item to item and policy to policy.
Myth 10: If I get into an accident and the other party is at fault but has no insurance, my insurance
company will pay for my damages.
Fact: Not necessarily. If you have sufficient Collision coverage or Uninsured Motorists coverage then
the damages to your car and person will be covered. But you re on your own if you don t. This is why
some states require that all drivers carry Uninsured Motorist s

Chronic Pain In Older Adults
Chronic pain in older adults is defined as an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated
with actual or potential tissue damage, or described in terms of such damage, for persons who are
either aged (65 to 79 years old) or very aged (80 and over) and who have had pain for greater than 3
months (Lynch, 2000, p.270). The consequences of chronic pain may also be related to impaired
activities of daily living (ADLs), physical disability, accidents, gait abnormalities, polypharmacy, and
cognitive decline in older adults (Mantyselka et al., 2001; Kaye et al., 2010; Shega et al., 2010).
Therefore, chronic pain has negative affects on older adults, their families, and social relationships.

Contemporary Information Security Systems And Computer...
According to identitytheft.info, almost 15 million Americans have their identity used fraudulently due
to information leaks and information insecurities. With the growing dependency on computer systems
to store confidential information across the world, it is only necessary that that the information be
protected by strong security systems which include both hardware and software so that both the
businesses and the consumers feel safe in the transportation of information over the inter webs.
Contemporary Information security systems use many different components involving both hardware

Primarily, User Access Control or UAC systems are combinations of identification, authentication,
and authorization that helps restrict users to what information they can access in a database system
with certain read and write rights. Most of the identification systems operate by using a simple serial
ID followed by an identity challenge such as a password (Blanding F. 2004). UAC is the most
fundamental access control technology as without it, there cannot be further information systems.
Within the UAC system, the system administrator designates users rights and accesses which helps
develop the login authentication aspect. The system administrator is the primary local account that
authorized personnel can use to create system logins for users with certain privileges. It most cases,
the administrator is only responsible for creating the username , often designated as the

There s a difference between equal opportunity and affirmative action policies. Equal employment

A body of scientific research over the past 50 years shows that people notice race, as well as gender,
wealth, and even weight. Should racial identities matter? I don t think so. We should see the person for
who they are and not what color of skin they have. I like the say don t judge a book by its cover
because I believe that you should get to know a person before you make any sort of judgment or
evaluations of them.
There is something called the power of racial bias, which is often concealed. Some think that calling it
a racial bias lessens the blow of being called a racist. People claiming bias can admit they may have
acted in racially insensitive ways but were unaware of their subconscious motivations. Someone can
think racist thoughts, but never actually behave in a racist manner. Most people don t self identify as a
racist because they don t take any action upon it. People think that just because they don t act upon it,
that they shouldn t be considered racist; however, thoughts and views can be a small form of racism.
For example, if you saw a large black man at night would you be a little scared? What about if that
man were white? Would you flinch a little in both scenarios? If you flinched for one and not the other,
based on his race, it s still considered racist. So, no, I don t think a person has to see herself or himself

Research Paper On Health Insurance
Can everyone in the United States have a Health insurance? That is the big question. As we know it s
impossible to get treated in the hospital without health insurance because it s very expensive. Let me
talk about my story, when I have arrived to the United States at Arizona, Tempe specifically, I got very
ill because I have Asthma so I couldn t breath properly, so my friend took me to St Luke Hospital in
Tempe, the doctor gave me Oxygen mask only nothing more. Then when I got better it s time to

that my insurance company will take care of it.
In fact, nearly 40 million Americans does not have health insurance, most of them can t afford the
price of the health insurance. This issue is leading to many deaths in the United States due to not
having a health care. So the question is, why poor people can not afford a health insurance? or in other
way, why it s very expensive to have a health insurance? The answer for the first question is very
simple, some people were born poor and they do not have jobs, and if some of them have jobs they
don t offer them a health insurance and their income is very low so they can t buy their own health
care. The answer for the second question is kind of complicated. Health insurances are expensive

Assyrian Empire Essay
For a few centuries after the death of Shamshi Adad I, Assyrian cities were subjugated by a succession
of outsiders: Babylonians under Hammurabi, Hittites and Mitanni Hurrians. From 1791 to 1360 A.D.
control over Assyria passed back and forth, although Assyria itself remained more or less stable. After
a power struggle between the Hittites and Mitanni, the Hittites successfully broke the power of the
Mitanni in the region. Assyria then began to take control over territories that had belonged to Mitanni.
The Hittites battled with the Assyrians, but the Assyrian king Ashur Uballit stamped out any
remaining Mitanni or Hittite control over northern Mesopotamia.
The Middle Empire
King Ashur Uballit, who ruled from c. 1353 to 1318 B.C., succeeded in gathering all former Mitanni
regions under his control. He also battled the Hurrians, Hittites and the Kassite king of Babylon. Ashur
Uballit married his daughter to the Babylonian king, angering the Babylonian people. They promptly
slew the king and replaced him with a pretender to the throne. King Ashur Uballit then invaded
Babylon, killed the pretender and placed another Kassite royal on the throne. King Ashur Uballit

As the world is becoming more specialized, lots of institutions do not cease questioning the role of
liberal arts education in equipping proficient students. Nowadays, one can hardly say that the liberal

develop critical thinking, obtain independence and bring up a citizen of the democracy. As the liberal

and formulating a nonstandard intellectual position. As the articles suggest, the liberal arts education

Semantic Association Experiments
Discussion
The aim of this study was to demonstrate that with Semantic Association training, participants would
rank more word pairs correctly than participants who did not receive any training. There were five
hypotheses in this study. Firstly, it was predicted that the group who received Semantic Association
training (experimental group), would receive a higher, total score in the Ranking Pairs task, than the
control group who did not receive any training. This result was significant and did demonstrate that
training did improve the way people associated word pairs.
Secondly the prediction that the experimental group would gain more points in the non associated
category was significant, and demonstrated that after training, people tended not to incorrectly rank
certain word pairs, which were not semantically connected through a synonym. The predictions that
the experimental group would gain more points when ranking indirectly and directly associated word
pairs were not significant however. The final hypothesis was that the experimental group would rank

The Life Cycle of a Social Problem
The Life Cycle of a Social Problem A social problem is a condition that a group of people view as
being undesirable. These can be a variety of different problems. They can occur in your community,
school, church or any place that people interact with each other or an object. When a social problem
arises there is a general way that they are handled. The earliest of definition on how a social problem
is recognized was made by Richard Fuller and Richard Myers. There cycle had three stages. The first
stage was that the group had to some situation or behavior as a problem. Once they stated that there
was a problem the next step was to transforms the situation or beahvior into a public debate to discuss

These roles of power also have concentrated link to the critical approach. When a problem is merely a
micro problem it is normally blamed on the attributes of people rather than the integrity of the system.
With any social problem in general there are two moral entrepreneurs. They are the rule creators
,which is the group that is trying to fix a behavior or situation that doesn t agree with there ideals or
belifs, and the rule enforcers which are the police and other public officals that will have to oversee
that the law or resolution is upheld by the public. The simple one of these two are the rule enforcers.
There main part is just to uphold these rules so therefore they look at it is a job and not a way of life
persay like a rule creator would. They also come into the life cycle after the solution or resoultion has
been determined .During their time of upholding the new law they will make many enemies and
friends but the only thing that really matters is that the new law or rule will be upheld so there will not
be another social problem of this nature. The second of the moral entrepreneurs and the most complex
one is the rule creators. They are the ones that start fighting for the social problem and have to
continue even if they are successful in getting a new rule or law established. The first step in a rule
creator is the stage of becoming a

Persuasive Essay On Crosswalks
Summary
Since moving into the neighborhood about seven months ago, there are a lot of activities for the
residents to partake in. The neighborhood has eleven playgrounds, (some which are for younger
children considered tot lots), four basketball courts, a pool, a recreational center, and mailboxes at the
end of each resident s street. Seems like a lot of places you are able to walk, right? One thing missing
in the neighborhood is crosswalks leading to each of these different places and more. What I am
proposing is to have cross walks put up throughout the neighborhood so residents are safe when
crossing the road.
Problem
A large circle is the main road for the neighborhood and has eight connecting streets leading to where
the resident s houses are located. Families each day walk around the neighborhood to different
activities such as the playgrounds, basketball courts, the pool, and other activities. The problem is
when residents have to walk to different places there are no safe places to cross the road. Currently
there are no painted crosswalks or even pedestrian crossing signs. This can cause a major safety
concern for residents and drivers. Children and teens can be affect largely by this due to the school bus

Julius Robert Oppenheimer, the Man Who Created the Nuclear...
One man created a nuclear bomb, ended a world war, saved hundreds of thousands of lives, all while
creating a new wave of theoretical physics. He was born on April 22, 1904 in New York. His father,
who had come to the United States from Germany at the age of 17, was a prosperous textile importer.
His mother, Ella Freedman, was a painter who studied in Paris and came from Baltimore. He is Julius
Robert Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer was the most important person of the twentieth century due to his
creation of the School of Theoretical Physics in Berkeley, his crucial work on the development of the
atomic bomb, which ended World War II, and his thoughtful opposition to the great destruction that
could be wrought by the atomic bombs.

in H. A Bethe 191 192). Oppenheimer s role in the Manhattan Project was important for the United
States to develop the nuclear bomb before its opponents. If Oppenheimer was not involved, the
nuclear bomb may not have been created in time for its use in Japan, leading to hundreds of thousands
of unnecessary deaths. Estimates from the Radiation Effects Research Foundation, a cooperative Japan
US research organization, say that there were an estimated 90,000 to 166,000 casualties from the
bomb dropped in Hiroshima, Japan, and an estimated 60,000 to 80,000 casualties from the bomb
dropped in Nagasaki, Japan. If the United States had not had atomic bombs as a negotiation technique,
Imperial Japan would have kept fighting to keep their honor. This would have, most likely, led to a
land invasion, which would resulted in many more Japanese and American casualties. Oppenheimer
saved hundreds of thousands of lives and ended the second world war with his work at the Manhattan
Project.
However, the massive destruction wrought by the atomic bombs troubled Oppenheimer. He had not
considered the human toll that would be caused by the atomic bombs he and his team were working so
hard to create. At

Vikings Weapons
Have you ever wondered how the vikings became the raiders of the sea and how they lived?. They
were the fiercest people to ever sail the seas. People were scared of them because of their raiding
reputation. It was there means of survival. I will be talking about the ships they sailed, the armour they
wore, the way they lived, different arts, and their religion.
The boats they sailed in are called something really simple Viking Ship . Of course the vikings would
name their ships. Their ships are made of wood planks that have been bent and curved to make the
body of the ship. They were a longer ship with the smallest being 21feet and 4 feet breadth (wide) to

Government Intervention On The Internet Essay
Government Intervention on the Internet
During the last decade, our society has become based on the sole ability to move large amounts of
information across great distances quickly.
Computerization has influenced everyone s life in numerous ways. The natural evolution of computer
technology and this need for ultra fast communications has caused a global network of interconnected
computers to develop. This global network allows a person to send E mail across the world in mere
fractions of a second, and allows a common person to access wealths of information worldwide.
This newfound global network, originally called Arconet, was developed and funded solely by and for
the U.S. government. It was to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I am opposed to such content on the Internet and therefore am a firm believer in
Internet censorship. However, the question at hand is just how much censorship the government
impose. Because the Internet has become the largest source of information in the world, legislative
safeguards are indeed imminent. Explicit material is not readily available over the mail or telephone
and distribution of obscene material is illegal. Therefore, there is no reason this stuff should go
unimpeded across the Internet. Sure, there are some blocking devices, but they are no substitute for
well reasoned law. To counter this, the United States has set regulations to determine what is
categorized as obscenity and what is not.
By laws set previously by the government, obscene material should not be accessible through the
Internet. The problem society is now facing is that cyberspace is like a neighborhood without a police
department. quot;Outlaws quot; are now able to use powerful cryptography to send and receive
uncrackable communications across the Internet. Devices set up to filter certain communications
cannot filter that which cannot be read, which leads to my other topic of interest: data encryption.
By nature, the Internet is an insecure method of transferring data. A single E mail packet may

How Christmas Has Changed Over Time
History has affected many things over the years. However, people and places aren t the only things
that were affected by our history, but the way we celebrate Christmas has been changed too. Although
Christmas is still a very traditional holiday, the introduction of new and more modern things has
shaped the way we celebrate this incredible holiday today. How we celebrate Christmas has changed a
lot due to the growth of other religions, the invention of technology, and the growth of conflicts in
certain areas. First, as more and more religions have started and increased in popularity, Christmas has
adjusted. However, none of the new religions have ever wanted to stop Christmas. In Christmas Is Not

The Role Of Yongzheng In Manchu And China
Emperor Kangxi died in 1722, leaving Yongzheng to become the fourth emperor of the Manchu Qing
Dynasty. The Kangxi emperor had fourteen sons and it was Yongzheng who ascended to the throne,
some accused Yongzheng of using nefarious tactics to achieve his position. Yongzheng s language
abilities in Manchu and Chinese as well as his cultivation in traditional classics and poetry all met
with his father s approval, but it was his sincerity in performing filial piety that especially won Kangxi
s praise. Being chosen as Emperor caused his brothers great unhappiness, because of their jealousy
much of Yongzheng s early years on the throne were spent defending his rule through political
maneuvering and consolidating his power of his Empire.

However, CEDAW has failed to protect women, due to Cambodia s weak legal system. As a result,
most women remain unprotected and vulnerable (Galabru, 2004).
Domestic violence is one of the greatest forms of violence against women in Cambodia. 17% of
married women, ages 15 49, have reported their husbands physically and sexually abusing them. Even
more shocking, one fourth of these women do not think they are abused, revealing Cambodian women
s lack of knowledge of basic human rights. Research shows that lack of education and alcohol increase
women s risk of be abused. Also, women who came of age during the Khmer Rouge period are subject
to significantly higher rates of domestic abuse, relieving how violence in society affects violence at
home. Cambodia s traditional culture does not help women who are victims of domestic abuse.
Violence and rape are considered an issue between the husband and wife that does not concern law
officials. Children are also victims of abuse, due to traditional Asian households. Extended families
tend to live together, so children can be abused not just by their parent, but also by an uncle, cousin, or
grandparent. Because of this, civil rights organizations in Cambodia pressure the NA to widen the
definition of victims to include others just as relatives, not just wives (Galabru, 2004).
Rape is also prevalent in Cambodia, yet like most crimes, it is under reported. Child

The Effects Of Elevated Carbon Dioxide ( Co2 ) Essay
2. Impact of Elevated Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a trace gas accounting for about 0.039 per cent or 390 ppm currently. CO2
concentration increases by 1 to 3 ppm every year primarily because of burning of fossil fuels. In
future, by 2100 the atmospheric CO2 concentration should reach 600 to 750 ppm. Plants are directly
influenced by increase in CO2 concentration; and increase in CO2 affects many physiological
processes like photosynthesis, respiration, transpiration, reproductive processes, and yield. CO2
diffuses from the atmosphere into leaves, via., stomata into mesophyll cells, intercellular spaces, cells,
and finally reach chloroplast for photosynthetic process. Increasing CO2 concentration in the
atmosphere will enhance the photosynthesis and dry matter production. The response to CO2 varies
among species mainly by the enzyme RuBisCo (RuBP). C3 plants readily react by increasing the
activity of RuBP carboxylase and by reducing the activity of RuBP oxygenase. Increase in
photosynthesis by 25% 75% was observed over doubling of atmospheric CO2. C4 plants show little
response to elevated CO2. Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (CAM) plants also showed an increase in
photosynthetic rate. The increasing concentration of CO2 by burning of fossil fuels can be reduced by
improving the carbon fixation in the plants. Short term exposure of CO2 on plants shows increased
photosynthesis, whereas long term exposure shows variation in photosynthesis and also plant growth.

Introduction Paragraph:
World War 1, defining moment for Canadian nationalism. Did not escape unscathed, but the
participation in the war gave a stronger sense of nationhood.
Canada s contributions into WWI led to international recognition; other countries must recognize you
as sovereign.
The effort also brought acknowledgement to Canada s contributions and heroism on the battlefields of
Europe, giving Canada the shot to be a more mature, experienced nation because of the sacrifices
made by their armed forces.
The Battle at Vimy Ridge was the greatest assertion in Canadian sovereignty in WWI.

Whenever the Germans found the Canadian Corps coming into the line they prepared for the worst.
Body Paragraph 3:
April 12, Hill 145 fell, Vimy Ridge was won over by Canadian troops. The whole plan was entirely
devised by Canada and was independent of British thoughts.
The success in the capture of the ridge earned Canada a reputation of great strength and
accomplishment, and it was also the first time that Canada had ever planned its own attack without
British help. It was the first step towards Canada s independence and sovereignty.
Even under British rule, Canadian troops planned, rehearsed, followed through, and defeated the
Germans at Vimy Ridge under the command of Canadian officers and officials.
Although the victory came with a great cost, with more than 10,000 killed and wounded, it helped
prove Canada in front of other world countries.
Concluding Paragraph:
I believe that the effort put into it by Canada gave the world a chance to recognize Canada s
contributions and heroism after the battles they fought and won on the European battlefields.
Canada was given the chance to be perceived as a mature, wiser nation through the sacrifices it made
during the war.
The Battle at Vimy ridge was the exceptional proclamation of Canadian sovereignty in WWI.

America in their documentary Prohibition, and this paper will discuss the events before, during, and
after the prohibition of alcohol in the United States. This paper will also relate the prohibition of
alcohol to the current drug policies of cocaine in the United States. Alcohol and cocaine were both

Young Man In A Grey Sweater Essay
Diego Rivera s Young Man in a Grey Sweater depicts the portrait of sculptor Jacques Lipchitz. The
piece was painted in 1914 in Paris, with oil on canvas. Present location is Museum of Modern Art,
New York.
This is rectangular piece, the size of 65.1 x 54.9 cm. Looking from a distance, painting has a uniform
color spectrum. Artist uses mostly warm earth tone palette: beige, grey, yellow and burnt umber, with
black for creating outline of the forms, and occasional multicolored patches for additional accents.
There is no visible source of light, however lighter areas of the painting are focused in the center,
while more contrast and darker areas tend to be around the middle section. From a distance,
brushstrokes look more unified, but when looking up closer, we can notice that artist, while blending
colors, uses distinctive strokes. So even blended, colors create some visual texture. There is no
noticeable degree of perspective or depth, painting looks rather flat.
Painting is done in cubist manner. The whole image is fragmented, with each fragment having a
geometrical shape. There are thick dark lines that divide each fragment one from another, so image
looks broken in pieces. The subject of the painting, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So how can it be distinguished among many other paintings inspired by the cubism movement? Young
Man in a Grey Sweater can t be defined as a pure analytical cubism. Though Rivera uses typical
palette of this kind of cubism, the elements are not translucent and intricate enough, there are some
texture and foreign colorful patterns. But it can t be an example of synthetic cubism either, not enough
construction, no perspective, image is still flat. Thus, Young Man in a Grey Sweater is located
somewhere in the middle of two types of cubism. Undefined, it doesn t loose its beauty. It means that
the painting can go beyond the established categories, and we can clearly read the author in

Elements Of A Short Story
Short stories can be bland and boring. As you read some of them, you can feel emotion or just read a
boring story about how something changed their life, but these three stories are interesting because
they develop horror. These short stories use different elements to create horror. The Tell Tale Heart, A
Rose for Emily, , and The Lottery develop horror/gothic elements.
First, The Tell Tale Heart develops horror by having an unreliable crazy narrator. For example, we see
his psyche in the introduction of Edgar Allan Poe s short story. I heard all things in the heaven and
earth. I heard many things in hell. How, then, am I mad? (par. 1). This gives the audience the insight
into the narrator s mind; therefore, the narrator has some sort of schizophrenia that causes him to not
hear, think, or behave correctly. As the narrator talks to the reader he thinks he is not crazy and that his
thoughts are normal. Next, the short story is written in first person point of view which makes the
story way more interesting and you see how mad this character is. I grew furious as I gazed upon it
(par. 9). In first person point of view the reader can almost imagine the whole situation as the narrator
is in the old man s room looking at his vulture eye. Plus, the narrator killing the old man was
premeditated, and that the narrator was in the man s house to murder him due to his mental health
issues. The psycho narrator in The Tell Tale Heart develops horror in this short story.

We study security of privacy protection for PWS applications that as hierarchical user profiles. In this paper we can implement the PWS system called UPS that can flexibly create profiles by queries while regarding user definite privacy requirements. Our runtime generalization goals at striking a level between two predictive metrics that evaluate the effectiveness of personalization and the privacy risk of exposing the generalized profile. We implemented this system with greedy algorithms, for runtime profile generalization also provides a runtime prediction mechanism for determining whether personalizing a query is useful. Extensive experiments prove the effectiveness of our system. The experimental results also reveal that Greedy algorithms significantly outperform in terms of effectiveness. • 3. Hatching At The Beach Research Paper Moreover, artificial lighting at the beach is a huge cause of losing population for sea turtles, because sea turtles come to the sore to nest. Most female sea turtles depend on the dark and quiet beach to reproduce successfully, but if there is too much light these female sea turtles will find a different location. Having artificial lighting on the beach is endangering to mostly the hatchling and the eggs. The articles state near shore lighting can cause sea turtle hatchlings to become disoriented when they are born. Instead, they will wander inland where they often die of dehydration, predation, or even from being run over on busy coastal streets. (Sea turtle conservancy). The hatching will follow the light and will lose their direction to the ocean; also it would leave them more to danger because it would be easier for their predator to spot them. It has also been said that ... host approximately 90% of all the sea turtle nesting in the U.S. But sadly, over 40% of Florida s beaches are classified as critically eroding due to changes in the natural landscape of these beaches. • 5. Discuss the Future of Human Geography with Reference to... Discuss the future of human geography with reference to the approaches that have emerged since the 1950s. Geography found its roots during periods of exploration when man s knowledge of the world was still subject to the imagination. For many decades, Europe and the British Empire in particular formed much of what cartography is today, and environmental determinism was widely used to serve imperialist needs. Many ideas and theories were highly influenced and composed by upper class academics and soon critiques were formed. During the mid 1930s, environmental determinism lost much of its support and regional geography fell into to favour. Soon however, regional geography was also criticised due to its limiting scope and constricting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pattinson hoped that through a widened willingness to conceive of and discuss the field in terms of these traditions, geography will be better able to secure the inner unity and outer intelligibility (W. Pattinson, 1964). This approach to geography aimed to quell the discourse that was prevalent within geography and tried to pave a clearer way for geographies future. On the other hand, thinking in such a law based manner, restricts dynamic thinking, which is where human geography draws its strengths. I felt that Pattinson still asked more how than why but he certainly helped promote the growth of geography. Subsequently, The Big Questions was an article written to try and stimulate thoughts of for the future as well as trying to gain the attention of the media and the public eye. Susan L. Cutter, R.Golledge, W.L.Graff, 2002) and what are likely to be the major problems of doing the geography of other planets? (S.L. Cutter, R.Golledge, W.L.Graff, 2002) If we are to answer or even begin to answer these questions, we must draw upon the past and in particular what has transgressed over the 60 years. The Technology Of Human Skeletal Structures CHAPTER 1 Introduction The MS Kinect has evolved for gaming purposes initially but sooner it came out with many more possibilities higher than just gaming so Microsoft decided to launch a separate device (similar to Kinect for XBOX 360) called as Kinect for Windows , along with a SDK for the developers. One such possibility is human authentication system based on the anatomy of human skeletal structure which is more advance and reliable security system. Gender Conformity And Expectations Through Time Orlando by Virginia Woolf addresses the issues of gender conformity and expectations through time; in this case, three centuries during the Elizabethan Era in the area around Europe. The main character, Orlando, experiences a gender change during his lifetime to become a female and that drastically modifies the way that she lives. Through the motif of Orlando s gender change and androgyny, Orlando experiences both life and love, which is not common for men and women regardless of the time period. Orlando began life as a young boy, living in a house in the country before being taken into the city by the Queen. As a child, he encourages himself to chase masculine pursuits in life, as his father and other ancestors do before him. Despite the encouragement of masculine activities as his family is known for, during his isolation, he decides instead as an adult that they and their deeds [are] dust and ashes (Woolf, 81) and that he would like to live life the way that he wants to, as a poet searching for love. Even as a man, Orlando has the power and authority to live his life how he wishes, but he always craves love. A poet at heart, Orlando has many loves, such as the girls in his sonnets, and he always writes about them in the way he finds best. He claims Love [has] meant nothing to him but sawdust and cinders (40) and he cannot find the love he is always searching for. • 10. Auto Insurance Myths Ten Auto Insurance Myths Debunked Myth 1: I ll save money by going for the cheapest quote available. Fact: When you buy auto insurance, you re basically purchasing peace of mind and the knowledge that an accident won t mean the end of your savings and a lifetime of debt. However to ensure that you will be covered for any losses or damages, it s better to opt for quotes from a company that has a reputation to maintain and the means to pay out when you make a claim. Opting for an obscure, fly by night company just because it gave you the cheapest quote is a bad idea. If it rejects your claim, or does not have the funds to pay out, you could potentially lose a fortune. Myth 2: All I need is Minimum Liability. Fact: Yes and No. Minimum liability ... Students can also get discounts by installing air bags and anti theft devices. By availing of these discounts, a student driver can definitely enjoy affordable insurance rates. Myth 9:Car insurance covers the costs of items stolen from my car. Fact: Generally, personal possessions left in the car are not covered by car insurance. Some home insurance policies cover such items, but that varies from item to item and policy to policy. Myth 10: If I get into an accident and the other party is at fault but has no insurance, my insurance company will pay for my damages. Fact: Not necessarily. According to identitytheft.info, almost 15 million Americans have their identity used fraudulently due to information leaks and information insecurities. With the growing dependency on computer systems to store confidential information across the world, it is only necessary that that the information be protected by strong security systems which include both hardware and software so that both the businesses and the consumers feel safe in the transportation of information over the inter webs. Contemporary Information security systems use many different components involving both hardware and software Primarily, User Access Control or UAC systems are combinations of identification, authentication, and authorization that helps restrict users to what information they can access in a database system with certain read and write rights. Most of the identification systems operate by using a simple serial ID followed by an identity challenge such as a password (Blanding F. 2004). UAC is the most fundamental access control technology as without it, there cannot be further information systems. Within the UAC system, the system administrator designates users rights and accesses which helps develop the login authentication aspect. The system administrator is the primary local account that authorized personnel can use to create system logins for users with certain privileges. People think that just because they don t act upon it, that they shouldn t be considered racist; however, thoughts and views can be a small form of racism. From 1791 to 1360 A.D. control over Assyria passed back and forth, although Assyria itself remained more or less stable. After a power struggle between the Hittites and Mitanni, the Hittites successfully broke the power of the Mitanni in the region. Seems like a lot of places you are able to walk, right? One thing missing in the neighborhood is crosswalks leading to each of these different places and more. Families each day walk around the neighborhood to different activities such as the playgrounds, basketball courts, the pool, and other activities. The problem is when residents have to walk to different places there are no safe places to cross the road. Currently there are no painted crosswalks or even pedestrian crossing signs. This can cause a major safety concern for residents and drivers. Children and teens can be affect largely by this due to the school bus dropping them off at the entrance of the neighborhood. • 29. The Effects Of Elevated Carbon Dioxide ( Co2 ) Essay 2. Impact of Elevated Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a trace gas accounting for about 0.039 per cent or 390 ppm currently. CO2 concentration increases by 1 to 3 ppm every year primarily because of burning of fossil fuels. In future, by 2100 the atmospheric CO2 concentration should reach 600 to 750 ppm. Plants are directly influenced by increase in CO2 concentration; and increase in CO2 affects many physiological processes like photosynthesis, respiration, transpiration, reproductive processes, and yield. CO2 diffuses from the atmosphere into leaves, via., stomata into mesophyll cells, intercellular spaces, cells, and finally reach chloroplast for photosynthetic process. Increasing CO2 concentration in the atmosphere will enhance the photosynthesis and dry matter production. The response to CO2 varies among species mainly by the enzyme RuBisCo (RuBP). C3 plants readily react by increasing the activity of RuBP carboxylase and by reducing the activity of RuBP oxygenase. Increase in photosynthesis by 25% 75% was observed over doubling of atmospheric CO2. C4 plants show little response to elevated CO2. Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (CAM) plants also showed an increase in photosynthetic rate. The increasing concentration of CO2 by burning of fossil fuels can be reduced by improving the carbon fixation in the plants. Short term exposure of CO2 on plants shows increased photosynthesis, whereas long term exposure shows variation in photosynthesis and also plant growth. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Whenever the Germans found the Canadian Corps coming into the line they prepared for the worst. Body Paragraph 3: April 12, Hill 145 fell, Vimy Ridge was won over by Canadian troops. The whole plan was entirely devised by Canada and was independent of British thoughts. The success in the capture of the ridge earned Canada a reputation of great strength and accomplishment, and it was also the first time that Canada had ever planned its own attack without British help. It was the first step towards Canada s independence and sovereignty. Even under British rule, Canadian troops planned, rehearsed, followed through, and defeated the Germans at Vimy Ridge under the command of Canadian officers and officials. Although the victory came with a great cost, with more than 10,000 killed and wounded, it helped prove Canada in front of other world countries. Concluding Paragraph: I believe that the effort put into it by Canada gave the world a chance to recognize Canada s contributions and heroism after the battles they fought and won on the European battlefields. • 32. History, Social Factors and Economic Impac of the... This current paper will examine the history, social factors, and economic impact of the prohibition of alcohol in the United States. Ken Burns and Lynn Novick (2011) delve into the topic of alcohol in America in their documentary Prohibition, and this paper will discuss the events before, during, and after the prohibition of alcohol in the United States. This paper will also relate the prohibition of alcohol to the current drug policies of cocaine in the United States. Alcohol and cocaine were both prohibited in the United States in the early 1900 s. Cocaine was used as an anesthesia and medication in the early days of America until the drug was abused, and the legislature of the day deemed cocaine a dangerous drug. Americans would ... She would protest by praying outside of many pharmacies and saloons all over the country getting some to close down, prohibit the sale of alcohol, or promise not to fill the prescriptions of alcohol from doctors, but in time the men would open the saloons back up and drink again. Francis E. Willard would soon become the leader of the Women s Christian Temperance Union (WCTU), and would form a worldwide version of this organization. Willard would be extremely well known in America, and she was a pioneer in the women s suffrage movement much like Susan B. Anthony. Willard s contributions to the temperance movement were significant, and she named Mary Hanchett Hunt in charge of educating America s youth about the degradation of alcohol (Burns Novick, 2011). Hunt influenced textbook publishers to let the WCTU s message be heard in the public school system. Hunt s efforts were in good practice, and the public school system would start using terribly fictitious propaganda against alcohol as part of the education program (Burns Novick, 2011). All of the women mentioned previously were pioneers of women s rights and of the temperance movement. The men of the time also had advocates of temperance such as Wayne Bidwell Wheeler who had surpassed the women s temperance movement with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Young Man In A Grey Sweater Essay Diego Rivera s Young Man in a Grey Sweater depicts the portrait of sculptor Jacques Lipchitz. The piece was painted in 1914 in Paris, with oil on canvas. Present location is Museum of Modern Art, New York. This is rectangular piece, the size of 65.1 x 54.9 cm. Looking from a distance, painting has a uniform color spectrum. Artist uses mostly warm earth tone palette: beige, grey, yellow and burnt umber, with black for creating outline of the forms, and occasional multicolored patches for additional accents. There is no visible source of light, however lighter areas of the painting are focused in the center, while more contrast and darker areas tend to be around the middle section. From a distance, brushstrokes look more unified, but when looking up closer, we can notice that artist, while blending colors, uses distinctive strokes. So even blended, colors create some visual texture. There is no noticeable degree of perspective or depth, painting looks rather flat. Painting is done in cubist manner. The whole image is fragmented, with each fragment having a geometrical shape. There are thick dark lines that divide each fragment one from another, so image looks broken in pieces. The subject of the painting, a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So how can it be distinguished among many other paintings inspired by the cubism movement? Young Man in a Grey Sweater can t be defined as a pure analytical cubism. Though Rivera uses typical palette of this kind of cubism, the elements are not translucent and intricate enough, there are some texture and foreign colorful patterns. But it can t be an example of synthetic cubism either, not enough construction, no perspective, image is still flat. Thus, Young Man in a Grey Sweater is located somewhere in the middle of two types of cubism. Undefined, it doesn t loose its beauty. It means that the painting can go beyond the established categories, and we can clearly read the author in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Elements Of A Short Story Short stories can be bland and boring. As you read some of them, you can feel emotion or just read a boring story about how something changed their life, but these three stories are interesting because they develop horror. These short stories use different elements to create horror. The Tell Tale Heart, A Rose for Emily, , and The Lottery develop horror/gothic elements. First, The Tell Tale Heart develops horror by having an unreliable crazy narrator. For example, we see his psyche in the introduction of Edgar Allan Poe s short story. I heard all things in the heaven and earth. I heard many things in hell. How, then, am I mad? (par. 1). This gives the audience the insight into the narrator s mind; therefore, the narrator has some sort of schizophrenia that causes him to not hear, think, or behave correctly. As the narrator talks to the reader he thinks he is not crazy and that his thoughts are normal. Next, the short story is written in first person point of view which makes the story way more interesting and you see how mad this character is. I grew furious as I gazed upon it (par. 9). In first person point of view the reader can almost imagine the whole situation as the narrator is in the old man s room looking at his vulture eye. Plus, the narrator killing the old man was premeditated, and that the narrator was in the man s house to murder him due to his mental health issues. The psycho narrator in The Tell Tale Heart develops horror in this short story. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
