The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

and verifying their status in
order to ensure that they are
still enrolled in the school
and have complied with the
conditions set forth in this
program. Example, when it
comes to the attendance of
the school children;
• Children 3 to 5 years old enrolled in Day Care or Kindergarten
with 85% class attendance/month
• Children 6 to 14 enrolled in elementary and high school with
85% class attendance/month
8. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
TAGBINAII DISTRICT
• COMPUTATION FOR SCHOOLATTENDANCE
• Given: 22 school days within a month;
• 85% = 0.85 attendance rate
• Let A = 85% of the total school days within a month
• Let B = number of absences that a student can have within a month to be able to
comply with the 85% attendance in a month
• Solution
• Equation 1: 22 school days x 85% = A
• 18.7 = A ≈ 18
• Equation 2: 22 school days – A = B
• 22 – 18 = B
• 4= B
• Pupil/s or Student/s with more than 4 absences will be marked as non-compliant
for that reporting month.
• (NOTE: THE COMPUTATION SIMPLY DROPS ANY DECIMAL FIGURES, WITHOUT ROUNDING OFF)

The daily checking of attendance
by the Tagbina II District Teachers
using their school registers [DepEd
- Form 1] is just only one of the few
services provided by them to the
beneficiaries in support of this
program. Indeed, they are doing
this with certain accuracy and
caution especially in accomplishing
the Compliance Verification Form 2
– CVF-2 wherein it will be double-
checked also by the school heads
before certifying.

II - The Impact of this program
In
Tagbina ii district
• On the learners
• On the Teachers and school heads
• on the Curriculum
• in the community
12. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
TAGBINAII DISTRICT
A. the learners The Pantawid Pamilyang
Pilipino Program is no doubt
plays a significant role in
reenergizing the batteries of our
Philippine Educational System.
Since its implementation in
2008, the enrolment and daily
attendance are greatly
increasing compared to those
years prior to the
implementation of this program.
13. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
TAGBINAII DISTRICT
In Tagbina II District, this information regarding the increase
of enrolment and high percentage of daily attendance of the
learners during the implementation of the 4P’s program are all
factual and not just fictions.
As for the data on enrolment of Tagbina II District as
extracted in the BEIS SSM Public Elementary.
SY 2006 – 2007 SY 2009-2010 SY 2012-2013
• 2,458 2,682 2,793
14. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
TAGBINAII DISTRICT
The Data on
Enrolment prove to us that
the Pantawid Pamilyang
Pilipino Program is
gradually achieving its long
term goal for Universal
Primary Education here in
Tagbina II District as part
also of the Millennium
Development Goal [MDG]
of our country.
15. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
TAGBINAII DISTRICT
As for the data of DROP OUT RATE of Tagbina II
District as extracted in the BEIS PI Public Elementary.
SY 2006 – 2007 SY 2009-2010 SY 2012-2013
• 3.52% 0.76% 0.52%
As for the data of PROMOTION RATE of Tagbina II District

• 91.76% 95.28% 96.43%
16. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
TAGBINAII DISTRICT
The Data on Drop
Out Rate and Promotion
Rate prove also to us that
this program aside from
encouraging the Tagbina
II District learners to enroll
in their respective
schools, it also help them
to continue and perhaps,
finish their studies with
this Enhance K to 12
Basic Education
Curriculum.
17. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
TAGBINAII DISTRICT
B. TEACHERS AND
SCHOOLHEADS
Indeed, the teachers
and school heads of
Tagbina II District really
appreciate the significance
of this program as strong
partner in guiding the
hearts, teaching the minds
and transforming lives of
the learners. One of the
teacher stated that because
of this program, it makes her
profession even more
meaningful.
18. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
TAGBINAII DISTRICT
Even the Schools District Supervisor, Mme. Wilma
A. Premarion and the School Heads are very much
supportive in this 4P’s program. Indeed, Mme. Premarion
conducted a District Re-Orientation last October 2012
wherein her first order of business is to remind the teachers
the attributes and significance of this Pantawid Pamilyang
Pilipino Program. Furthermore, she wanted also to
refresh their knowledge with regards to their duties and
responsibilities in providing qualitative services to the
beneficiaries in both the parents and the learners. As the
result, there are no teachers or even school heads in
Tagbina II District have been reported in the Pantawid
Office for being rude, disrespectful or even involved in
collecting anomalous contributions to the beneficiaries.
21. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
TAGBINAII DISTRICT
C. The Curriculum With the huge
number of enrollment and
daily attendance of the
learners particularly in the
elementary level as the
result of this program,
Tagbina II District ensures
the optimum learnings of the
pupils in the five (5) core
subjects and without
wasting much of the time,
money, programs and
projects of our government.
.
22. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
TAGBINAII DISTRICT
Indeed, one of the
school head even disclosed
the importance of 4P’s in
our educational system by
saying that “If Education is
the backbone of our country
then, 4P’s is the backbone
of Education.” For according
to him, what is the purpose
of having competent
teachers, conducive
classrooms, enhance
curriculum, etc. if there are
only few learners who come
to school.
23. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
TAGBINAII DISTRICT
Tagbina II District
recognizes the many
contributions of The
Pantawid Pamilyang
Pilipino Program [4P’s] in
the school community. The
parents esp. the mothers
are now becoming more
participative in the different
activities in the school such
as PTA meetings, seminars,
celebrations, programs,
Brigada Eskwela and many
others.
D. The school Community
24. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
TAGBINAII DISTRICT
The teachers and
school heads are always
ready to assist and guide
the parents especially the
mothers like getting of
Certificate of Enrolment
for their school children.
Most of the school heads
also observe that they are
already frequently visiting
the school for various
reasons and also, well
acquainted about the
protocols in the school
office.
25. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
TAGBINAII DISTRICT
Such manifestations
are clear indications that
the Pantawid Pamilyang
Pilipino Program [4P’s]
here in Tagbina II District is
very much successful in
empowering the women in
their respective school
communities. As the 4P’s
program still continues,
they are becoming more
and more responsible and
knowledgeable on their
rights as the modern Maria
Clara in our society.
26. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
TAGBINAII DISTRICT
The Tagbina II District strongly recommends the
sustainability of this program, The Pantawid
Pamilyang Pilipino Program [4P’s], for this is truly a
meaningful and fruitful program of our government
together that will really break the intergenerational
cycle of poverty which has now becoming a number
one terrorist in our society.
