The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

3. Conversation Starter
• Engineers are often concerned about a good
environment for starting a new project, especially
projects that consume specific kinds of materials like oil
or coal. This is because whenever that material is
depleted from that area, they will need to
reposition/relocate their project to another area, which
costs a lot. For that, they must do a lot of research about
any area they want to start a project in. What kind of
materials are being depleted in your region?
• (Ahmad Emam/Mechanical Engineering)
4. Conversation Starter
• There is no doubt that today we are living in the era of
technology, and we are becoming more and more
dependent on it. For example, using one’s phone has
become an indispensable tool for keeping us in touch
with people and keeping others posted about what
happens in everyday life. On the other hand, this leads
some people to depend entirely upon using their cell
phone, which ultimately leads to cell phone addiction.
What are the most significant pros and cons for living in
this era of technology? ( Eman , Computer Science)
5. Conversation Starter
• Our body has both essential components
and a non-essential components. For
example, I think that muscles are a very
essential part of one’s body, but cellulite is
a non-essential component of the body.
What do you think the most essential and
least essential body components are?
• (Nursing, Bora Lee)
6. Video
• Individual Presentation Example
• As you watch the video, take notes (optional), and the 3
students with the most comprehensive and clearly
organized notes will receive 3 points of extra credit.
7. Small Group Discussion
• 1) What did you learn from the video?
• 2) What do you hope to imitate in your
presentation?
• 3) Is there anything that you saw that you
hope to avoid in your presentation?
• 4) What do you need to do to prepare
yourself for this presentation?
8. Computer Lab Tasks
• 1) Watch 3 interviews in their entirety +
complete the handout.
• 2) Leave a 1-2 minute audio comment for
someone about what you learned from
their interview and any other polite
feedback that you would like to add.
