1. Read your position as a group.
2. Think of at least 4 good reasons, with explanations and/or
examples to support your position.
3. Plan a speech to present to the judge and to the other debate
groups.
4. Decide who which group members will speak about which points–
all group members should participate.
5. If you have time, practice giving your group speech!
Next Class
1. Each group will take turns giving their
persuasive speech. (15 minutes)
2. After every group has had a chance to
present, any person can ask or answer
questions, one at a time. Raise your
hand to ask/answer. (10 minutes)
3. At the end of the debate, the mayor will
decide whether or not department stores
should have gender-based signs and
classifications.
