Audience Feedback The Revolution of Technology
Recognised faults which still need to be clarified and updated:
• Bringing our presenter up to the rule of 3rds
• Relational time laps video to bridge into interview
• Titles for presenter and interviewee’s
• Voice over for final time laps
Over the past 50years we have seen how various technologies have developed and
prospered to become incredibly revolutionary. During this documentary the viewer will learn
and be informed on a wide array of matters such as how technology has changed the way
we live our lives? And which piece has evolved the most within 50 years. This is the FIRST
CUT of our starting 5 minute extract which can be viewed on the Vimeo account link here:

Whilst watching this video please take note of anything which you feel may be out of

Primary target audience: teenage to early 20’s
Secondary target audience: mid 20’s
Genre: Documentary
• Does this type of documentary feel suited for a Channel 4 programme?
Yes, it would suit a younger channel 4 audience
• Is there a clear narrative to follow in this extract?
Yes there is a clear narrative to follow in this extract.
• Do you gain a strong sense of the technology revolution?
Yes, both segments with the experts give good focus on how technology has
changed in a relatively short period. Especially in storage and digital revolutions.
• Do you understand the purpose of this text (Uses and Gratifications theory)?
• How does the technology revolution relate to you in your everyday lives?
Computers have become integral in virtually everything we do. From shopping to
exercise and especially communication.
• Which segments of the extract were effective in your learning?
The segments with the experts
• How effective is the use of sound in this extract?
The sound was good, especially the first time laps. However there was a lack of
sound for 30 seconds at around 3 minutes 30 seconds.
• Are there any areas which are non relational?
Yes, the time laps with no sound or text
• Did you find this documentary influential and particularly useful?
Yes, however you could focus on how you think technology will change in the future.
You focused on past and present only.
• Any areas which were found to be faulty/ out of place/needs edit/missing or need
re-constructing please state below:

The documentary would also benefit from a summary at the end as it abruptly
