Praxir Case Study
Praxair: Company Values Praxair is widely regarded as being an environmentally conscious company
with an almost impeccable reputation. In addition to their commitment to the environment, Praxair
highly values their employees. For the second year in a row, Praxair has been named to the 2018
Corporate Equality Index with a perfect score. The Human Rights Campaign Foundation reports on
corporate policies and practices related to the LGBTQ workplace equality. This report evaluates
workplace protection, transgender inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public
engagement with the LGBTQ community. Praxair s Chief Diversity officer Vanessa Abrahams John
stated on receiving the award, We continue to implement programs, policies and training globally that
foster an inclusive environment for all of our employees, which has culminated a score of 100% on
this important index. Receiving this external recognition for the second year in a row is a testament to
the value we place on diversity and inclusion. (Targeted News Service). The company has made it part
of their mission to provide and equal and safe work environment for all regardless sexual
orientation/identity. For years, the LGBTQ community has been fighting for equality. It was only two
years ago that the Supreme Court ruled in favor of same sex marriage. The LGBTQ community still
faces inequality in the workplace. Businesses can choose whether they want to provide benefits to
same sex partners or to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation, there is no law legally
binding them. I consider this a great ethical decision that shows progressive values. Praxair supports
other programs and initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion including: employee resource
groups focused on the interests of millennial, women, veteran and other groups, scholarships and
training programs for students of diverse backgrounds in STEM and education, and mentoring
programs for all employees. Praxair: Company Issues During WWII, the Linde Company participated
in Union Carbide s contribution to the development of the atomic bomb known as the Manhattan
Project. Tons of Uranium were shipped to the Linde facility in Tonawanda, NY by the U.S

The Existence Of The Cold Weather
A long time ago, the village Salem became famous. Their neighbors had started to build extreme,
exaggerated hysteria when a group of your girls were claimed to be possessed by bad spirits. It is said
that when bad spirits come to our lives, it is because we do not have control over ourselves, and in
those days, the villagers believed that bad spirits were the real devil. In the spring of 1692, there were
a lot of accusations by villagers, claiming girls to be guilty of those suspicions. They believed that the
devil could be free and they believed if they killed the accused, they could kill the bad spirit inside of
them. Otherwise, many villages were scared because they had never seen those kinds of things before.
However, the causes of that kind of thing could be strong belief in the occult, disputes, rivalries and
personal differences, and a theory about the cold weather. Even though they have strong beliefs in the
bible, there are new theories that explain what had actually happed. The religions and beliefs was
extreme exaggeration because at the moment could be accused for something not guilty. In the village

The Stages Of Non Rem Sleep
The stages of non REM sleep, stages 1 3, are defined by EEG activity. Slow wave sleep in stage 3 is
the deepest stage of sleep. Alertness consists of desynchronized beta activity (13 30 Hz); relaxation
and drowsiness consist of alpha activity (8 12 Hz); stage 1 sleep consists of alternating periods of
alpha activity, irregular fast activity, and theta activity (3.5 7.5 Hz); the EEG of stage 2 sleep lacks
alpha activity but contains sleep spindles (short periods of 12 14 Hz activity) and occasional K
complexes; stage 3 sleep primarily consists of delta activity. About 90 minutes after the beginning of
sleep, people enter REM sleep. Thereafter, cycles of REM and non REM sleep occur in periods of
approximately 90 minutes. Muscle tone decreases throughout the stages, resulting in deepest
relaxation and paralysis in REM sleep (Carlson Birkett, p. 268).
The rate of cerebral blood flow during REM sleep is high in the extrastriate cortex but low in the
striate cortex and the prefrontal cortex. This activity reflects a lack of visual in put in REM (little or no
activation in the striate cortex), but the presence of active visual hallucinations during dreaming
(activation in the extrastriate cortex). Lack of prefrontal cortex activity likely reflects the lack of
organization and planning that occur in dreams. Regional cerebral blood flow during slow wave sleep
is generally decreased throughout the brain compared to waking. However, some researchers have
found localized increases

Summary Of How Immigrants Changed America
America is filled with diverse people, citizens and immigrants. It s a country that has welcomed many
cultures, languages, and people from different parts of the world. Immigrants are the reasons why
America is changing into a colorful country and it wouldn t be known for it s importance known
today. Significant changes that occur when immigrants come to America are new cultures, changes in
the economy, and changes towards visas and green cards.
Immigrants changed America by bringing in new cultures. In Vincent J. Cannato s article, How
Americans Became Italian, it explains how America gained many things from the Italian culture, such
as food, music, and films. Vincent J. Cannato states, The Italian American experience reminds us that
immigration is a process of transformation for the individuals and for American society. That bilateral
cultural evolution will continue to mold who we are as a nation, (Cannato). Like Italians, many other
countries are shaping America with all the different cultures. Today, Americans combine varying
cultures into their lives.
Next, immigrants changed the economy. In the article, Why American Cities Are Fighting to Attract
Immigrants , Ted Hesson explains the development made in the economy by immigrants. He states

Dripping Swag My research paper is over the career of Fashion Design. I chose this topic, because I
have always had a desire to one day have my own clothing line and see other people support me by
wearing my creations. Also because I like to mix different articles of clothing and create my own
unique style to go out and express to the world. This paper will highlight the details about a fashion
designer, like what type of education you need, skills required, the work environment, and their
salaries. Fashion Design is a career where people express and use their creative ideas to create the best

Designers put so much work into their clothing. But most people don t even recognize how much
detail or even what kind of material the designer uses to create the article. Often time s people just buy
a certain piece of clothing because it s what everybody else is wearing and it s the new fad, they really
don t respect the time and effort the designer has put into the design, even more so they buy them just
for the label associated with the article of the clothing. All these things you have to understand and try
to master to become successful.
Fashion Designing is a very cutthroat and limited job, so there isn t much room for new designers to
get hired. One article states that, The fashion design world is highly competitive, so it s somewhat
difficult, though certainly not impossible, to break into the field. In general, there are more aspiring
fashion designers than there are available jobs in the field . (Vogt, Peter. Fashion Designer. ).
Employment rates are not very high, so you have to be on top of your game. According to (Vogt. Peter
fashion Design ) about 17,000 people worked as Fashion Designers in the United States in 2004, and
now today approximately 22,700 fashion designers are employed in the United States. ( Fashion
Designers ). So there is not much change in the employment rate over the years.

Hamlet Soliloquies Analysis
All seven soliloquies in the play are based on several common themes such as death, incest, pain, fear,
emptiness of existence, and pride and hypocrisy that make us human. To create these themes and
further develop character, Shakespeare uses certain techniques. First of all, Shakespeare employs
blank verse to create a smooth flowing rhythm and cadence. He masterfully switches back and forth
between fast and slow pace by utilizing both short choppy sentences and fluent long ones. Secondly, it
is clear that the soliloquies do not waste any word. Each syllable and sound adds depth to the
development of Hamlet. Each soliloquy successfully conveys to the reader Hamlet s state of mind and
intensity of his emotion. Most importantly, the soliloquies reveal something special that the play itself
does no t. Just by looking at the play separately, it i s very hard for readers to notice the character
development that Hamlet goes through. For instance, the beginning soliloquies prove that Hamlet is
indecisive and irresolute. Thus, it i s the soliloquy found in each aAct of the play that readers can
watch Hamlet grow internally.
As an uptight and hypersensitive individual, Hamlet never seems to reveal much about his thoughts
throughout the whole play. In fact, since Hamlet is inclined to express his emotions in a physically
interactive way, including his abusive interaction with his mother and aggressive physical contact with
Laertes and Claudius, it is rather difficult for the audience to interpret his intentions and his thoughts.
His soliloquies, however, are the only ways in which the audience can finally gain an understanding of
his thoughts. This soliloquy, also being the first, reveals him to be thoroughly disgusted with Gertrude,
Claudius, and the world in general. This is when the King Claudius and Queen Gertrude urges Hamlet
in the open court to cast off the deep melancholy which, as they think, has taken possession of his
mind as a consequence of his father s death. In their opinion, Hamlet has sufficiently grieved for his
father s death already. Prior to the soliloquy, King Claudius and Queen Gertrude announce their
marriage, as according to them, the court cannot afford excessive grief, which further saddens

Who Said We All Have To Talk Alike Essay
Who said we all have to talk alike? by Wilma E. McDaniel, The Merchant of Venice by William
Shakespeare, and A Child in a Prison Camp by Shizuye Takashima are all stories where discrimination
occurs. The victim of discrimination that reacted the most reasonably was Neffie Pike from, Who said
we all have to talk alike? Neffie reacted the most reasonably out of the three characters because she
did her job to the best of her ability, was respectful and never retaliated when she was discriminated
against due to her word pronunciation.
Although Neffie was judged for the way she spoke, she still worked very hard to help Beryl and her
two little girls. Pat and Penny were the only reason why Neffie worked as hard as she did because she

Neffie never did anything out of anger and she never reciprocated after being discriminated. Shylock
on the other hand was discriminated and discriminated back. He spoke of his discriminator, Antonio,
rudely and wanted him dead. In the story he said, I am very glad of it: I ll plague him; I ll torture him;
I m glad of it (Shakespeare, 42). Neffie never fought back, she never discriminated Beryl for her
different pronunciation, unlike the story, A Child in a Prison Camp , where the Japanese refugees
turned on one another and discriminated each other for either choosing to stay in Canada or go back to
Japan. In the excerpt from the story, it said, Those who have signed to return to Japan are called, fools
; the ones who have chosen to stay in Canada are called, dogs , slang for traitors (Takashima, 1).
Discriminating Beryl s pronunciation would have been the easy way out for Neffie, but Neffie chose
the harder path and never let anything negative come out of her mouth. She was never bitter like
Shylock or rude like the Japanese refugees, she was Neffie Pike, the kind hearted and patient woman.
Neffie Pike was a victim of discrimination, as were the Japanese refugees and Shylock. Out of all of
them, she was the most reasonable in the way she reacted

Examples Of Figurative Language In Catcher In The Rye
What is the author s style? In this case, Salinger s style is based on the many topics of literature,
including the three basic elements, which are diction, syntax and figurative language. The Catcher In
The Rye is a very eye catching book that talks about a young man named Holden, who got expelled
from his school, Pencey Prep. Salinger speaks through the eyes of Holden Caulfield. His style is
portrayed by showing the distinctive way he uses language compared to other authors.
In this novel, Salinger shows the diction mainly during the dialogues between the characters. The
diction of The Catcher In The Rye is informal due to the different types of colloquial used throughout
the story. An example of this colloquial diction in the book was when Stradlater told Holden to hurry
up in this way, Why don tcha? I will, in minute time. (Stradlater, p.32) We can see that Stradlater uses
a type of slang language as in don tcha. This shows the diction of the story and how it gives us a feel
for what Salinger was trying to do to catch the reader s attention.
This novel also shows us many examples of imagery and symbolism. Imagery gives us a picture of
what is happening in that scene of the story. Imagery gives the reader a realistic look of it. Symbolism
just shows an object or something in that book that represents something special to one of the
characters or even the author. These both can affect the author s style by setting the mood of the story.
In this novel, there was an

The Last Judgement By Selma Burke Analysis
Together designed by Selma Burke is the piece of artwork that will be analyzed in this paper. This
piece of artwork is created to represent a message, but speaks so much more on a deeper level. For
example, the piece speaks to deeper level because of the first fact that Selma Burke background began
as an artist that spoke for the African American culture. At the time she was advocating for African
Americans she also was a practicing artist and teacher.
This piece in particular is very sentimental to the Hill District which is located in Pittsburgh, because
it was hung on the wall of the Hill Association for a period of time starting in the year of 1975. Selma
Burke s Together became her retirement piece, however, this piece was the beginning for the legacy
she had left behind. In this reflection, the piece Together will be depicted for meaning and described
for content, structure, subject matter and form and furthermore be compared and contrasted with
another artwork, The Last Judgement by Gilbertus.

I want to draw attention to this piece because it resembles ideas and emotions, like I had experienced
with Together. The whole idea to this particular piece is that it was meant to speak of a message. The
message is in the title, so it was made to portray a last message to the people. The Last Judgment is a
stone sculpture that was placed in the beginning of church. It was meant for people to see what the
forms of an afterlife where they could end up if they belief in an afterlife, which is a Christian belief.
This would support the statement that both pieces of artwork had a hidden message displayed through
both of them. One has a message to the people of the church, while the other piece speaks to a
community in a particular

While assessing the needs of the Chocoholics Anonymous organization our team agreed unanimously
that we wanted to gain the most value out of this project. We first sat down and decided our approach

User Experience
We found that as we defined the use cases we began immediately thinking about how the use cases
would look as a user interface and user experience. The user experience is an important piece to the
overall puzzle of creating software. According to blog writer Dmitry Fadeyev a good user interface
needs to be clear, concise, familiar, responsive, consistent, attractive, efficient, and forgiving
(Fadeyev, 2009). When we set out to come up with a mocked user interface we talked about what
items would make these graphics easy to understand. As well what would make them pop on the page
or whatever would display them. For this we came up with a decent mocked set of graphics in html to
emulate what the user would see in the interface for the application. This set of mocked up graphics
would prove to be attractive, consistent, and even familiar. The other items on the list such as
responsiveness, efficiency, and forgiveness would have to be realized after the actual development
itself was accomplished.
The screen shots in Appendix E clearly show the basic principals we attempted to mock/create. We
knew that a basic drop

Lgbtq Coming Out Model
Coming out LGBTQ is a highly individual and personal process, where one concedes and affirms their
sexual orientation or gender identity, and deciding if, who and when to tell (1). Studies show that the
nature of the process is ongoing, dynamic and social because of the diversity and complexity of
individual humanity. It is particular to each person s unique circumstances. Sometimes the process is
within their control, other times it is far more complex. Coming out can be as simple as revealing ones
self acceptance of sexual orientation or a terrifying journey of confronting fear and concern for safety,
leaving some to remain closeted for most of their life. Coming out has certainly its advantages and
disadvantages. However, despite the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The LGBTQ stops fighting and comes to accept who they are, making peace with their sexual
orientation or gender identity. Once the process of internal acceptance has occurred, the LGBTQ may
decide to come out to others. Disclosing to others is a personal and individual process with respective
timelines. Some LGBTQ s may feel that it is a necessity to disclose while another s experience might
be more complex involving vulnerability to fear and concern for their safety. During this time the
LGBTQ generally weighs the advantages, disadvantages and risks, recognizing what they have to lose
or gain. Acceptance by others at this point is crucial to developing a positive self esteem and self
concept. Acceptance by others usually paves the way to tell more people as the LGBTQ finds
acceptance for who they are. Rejection will validate the negative feeling that the LGBTQ started out
with, further injuring their self esteem and causing them to return to internalizing their identity as seen
in the pre coming out phase (2). Because acceptance is necessary to the development of a healthy self
concept, it is important for the LGBTQ to cautiously choose whom they will disclose their identity to.
The more significant the relationship the greater the impact disclosure will have on the LGBTQ s self
esteem. Studies show that support from family and friends is significant to healthy identity
development (3). This process of revealing sexual identity to important relationships can take a long
time. Just as it took a while for the LGBTQ to assimilate and process during the pre coming out phase,

My Personal Goals And Goals Of A Good Teacher
Introduction During the past four weeks in Guadalajara, I have received well designed and intense
training from ITTO and as a result, I have learned an immense amount about how to design lesson
plans confidently, regardless of type of class (conversation, grammar, etc) and regardless of
availability of resources (textbooks or no textbooks, etc). While I believe that I have always had a
passion and aptitude for teaching, ITTO has given further tools in the form of practical training and
job search guidance. I have progressed well during this short but intense period of training but I will
continue to improve as I work as an English teacher in Latin America going forward. What is a Good
Teacher? In my opinion, a good teacher has the following qualities: He teaches because he enjoys the
process of improving the academic and professional lives of students, instead of doing it strictly for
the money. As a result, students recognize and appreciate his passion for teaching and develop a
trusting and respectful relationship with the teacher He creates a nurturing environment that is warm,
accessible, and caring. He encourages students to show effort and to ask questions openly in class
without fear of mockery by peers He works hard to prepare the lesson materials and he is adaptive to
unpredictable circumstances, such as when students arrive late to class, the course has to be taught
without a pre existing textbook, or when the lesson takes longer than he anticipated and he

Volunteer Training Corps Research Paper
What did meet with considerable success was the formation of local Volunteer Training Corps . We
have become very familiar with the BBC Television programme Dad s Army based on the exploits of
the Home Guard during the Second World War. What is not so well known is that almost a quarter of a
century earlier, there was a similar organisation formed during the 1914 1918 War.
These Volunteer Training Corps (VTCs) were formed all over Britain and consisted mainly of men

2008 Financial Crisis Report
The economic turmoil of 2008 is arguably the worst financial crisis since the great depression of the
1930s. Although financial crisis is not entirely new, each one is characterized by unique challenges
that make it difficult to make a prediction on when and how the next financial crisis might occur. The
financial crisis of 2008 to 2009 was marked by a failure in the efficiency of the financial markets,
inability of regulatory bodies to regulate the financial product and was catalyzed by weak
macroeconomic fundamentals prevailing at the time. In the aftermath of the turmoil financial crisis,
there has been a debate in the financial community on whether there are specific indicators that
precipitate a financial crisis and whether the global economy is at a risk of experiencing the a repeat of
a financial crisis of a similar nature to the crisis of 2008. The ... Show more content on

In the aftermath, it became essential for regulators to review policy approaches to prevent recurrent
the earlier crises going into the future. The lesson that informed regulators in reviewing the policies is
that markets cannot be self correcting, and regulators must intervene from time to time to prevent
financial bubbles from forming or to prevent the effects of the financial crises when they occur
(Tropeano, 2011).
Between 2008 and 2009 global finance institutions such as the World Bank and the International
Monetary Fund started to advocate for monetary measures that were anti cyclical. The objective was
to avoid a depression through combing fiscal and monetary policies as economic stimulus programs
but aimed at ensuring social inclusive (Petkovski Hristova, 2011). It is, therefore, arguable that the
adoption of the measures proposed by the World Bank and IMF prevented the occurrence of
depression which would have had catastrophic effects on the global

pros and cons to both types of countertops, making the decision a personal one, depending on what the

Analysis of the TV Program Star Trek Essay
America got its first look of a program that would later become legendary on September 8, 1966 at
8:30 PM on NBC. America was never the same after Star Trek made its debut that night. The series
did not receive the recognition it deserved until it was canceled after only three years and later
returning in syndication. However, Star Trek was never an ordinary science fiction program to begin
with. Comparison to other programs in this genre is difficult because Star Trek is certainly not an
unconventional science fiction program it is a science fiction program that displays America during
1960 s. In fact, Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek, during an interview said, I have no belief

How can the human race ever hope to achieve friendship with alien races if it can t even make friends
with itself? The program had two regular characters that epitomized American minorities, who were
quickly acquiring a position in American society, Lt. Sulu and Lt. Uhura. Lt. Sulu, played by George
Takei, was the helmsman of the USS Enterprise. Having a Japanese American appointed in an
important rank was certainly a huge step forward. Despite the fact that antagonistic emotions
regarding Japanese Americans ascribed to World War II had lessened remarkably, some unease
prevailed as to whether a Japanese American character would cost the program Indonesian viewers.
Gene Roddenberry never considered Lt. Sulu as a token Asian , even when it appeared like everyone
was opposed to him giving a major role to minority characters. Lt. Sulu consequently became an vital
member of the Enterprise crew. Compared to Sulu, it is unfathomable to envision someone else that
could step into this role and play him so well. Lt. Uhura, played by Nichelle Nichols, was a
communications officer of the Enterprise. Uhura, whose name means freedom was a Black African
princess from East Africa who was fluent in Swahili, which added a particular appeal to her character.
Both Nichols and Roddenberry made sure Lt. Uhura was deliberately written as a token Black , unlike

Lost Dog Budweiser Commercial Analysis
With over thirty million views, Budweiser s 2015 Super Bowl Commercial Lost Dog has stolen the
hearts of many. Budweiser commercials are a Super Bowl tradition. This commercial in particular was
somewhat of a sequel from the previous 2014 Super Bowl commercial. Both starred a small golden
Labrador puppy, a Clydesdale horse and possibly the horse trainer or owner. Each year Budweiser is
faced with the challenge of topping the previous year s commercial. An example would be in 2013,
they told the story of the bond between the horse and its trainer. The next year, they added a puppy.
Budweiser s Lost Dog relies heavily on connections for conveying its message and appeals strongly to
the emotions whether it be the music, the idea of a lost puppy, or in through the powerful friendships.
Throughout the entirety of the commercial, Budweiser does not seem to go out of their way to
advertise for their beer. The Budweiser logo only appears twice in the whole one minute commercial,
on the hat of the owner and then at the very end of the commercial. A truly great advertiser is able to
convey a message without clearly stating it. Instead they rely solely on the connections that can be

advertiser to get a whole minute of attention of all their viewers. The hook that Budweiser uses to pull

is implied through body language, sound effects, and different angles. This bond keeps pulling the two
together and it tells a story of these two friends who were separated and then they finally find each

Election System of Bangladesh
Election System: A Contrast Between Bangladesh And USA. Nafis Ujrat MIDN USN
Election system is one of the most important features of a country s political system. It symbolizes
some inner concept of a political system of a nation. I have chosen election system of US government

election procedure. That has made it really interesting for the learner of both systems to contrast and

election campaign is really lengthy. The constitution does not give any guide line how to nominate a
candidate for US presidential election. The Democratic Party has a nationwide policy for determining
candidate. The Republican Party allows each state to determine their own way to select candidate.
When Bangladesh was united with present Pakistan, former president of Pakistan Ayub Khan
introduced a system of presidential election called Basic democracy. That was almost similar to the
presidential election system of USA. But mass people of Bangladesh did not accept that system as the
electors were corrupted. They did not reflect the wish of popular vote. So this system did not worked
in Bangladesh. In USA the founder father thought that people are not wise enough to elect the right
candidate. That is why they wanted to have a system where there will some sorts of control over
people s choice of candidates. They also thought people from different states may not agree to on a
single person to choose as a president. That is why they felt the requirement to have an election
system that will balance the situation. In Bangladesh politics and election are always accompanied by

Effects Of Morality And Morality
Memory Effects on Ethics and Morality
Introduction
Memory is one of the essential components of a human being. It affects almost all the aspects human
behavior. Ethics and morality are part of two contemporary factors that affect the human memory and
the subsequent actions in the social domain. It seems that people have lowered morals in the phase of
everyday challenges such that ethical dealings are viewed as a typical mountain in most situations. In
most sectors of the public operation, you find that most of the problems that are presented there or are
linked to lack proper ethics and morality. Well as the action of the population says that morality is
relative and not absolute, I always believe that that there should be a bar of reference. Additionally, the
reason why I considered the topic is due to the divergent discussion that comes with it in any given
forum of discussion. The most critical epithet in the topic is its need of reinforcement into the society.
Talking about this topic will open avenues for more vibrant and genuine views on the topic. For this
paper, I will analyze two articles on morality and ethics from the psychology today website.

Squamous Epithelium Cell Experiment
In this experiment, we examined a Squamous epithelium cell from a Human cheek. This can be
observed under a microscope; stained or unstained. We also observed an Onion Cell stained with
iodine under the microscope.
There are Eukaryotic cells and Prokaryotic cells. Human cheek cells are Eukaryotic cells. Eukaryotic
cells mean True Nucleus and Prokaryotic Cells mean Before Nucleus . Eukaryotic cells contain
membrane bound organelles. These organelles include the Nucleus, Nucleolus, Rough Endoplasmic
Reticulum (dotted with Ribosome s), Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum, Mitochondria, Golgi
Apparatus, and Lysosomes. These organelles play an important part in a Eukaryote cell. The Nucleus
contains the Nucleolus, chromatin and chromosomes. The Nucleus is surrounded by a Nucleus
Envelope and contains all the chromosomes and the genetic material needed to make proteins and
needed to control the cell. The Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum have Ribosome s dotted on them where
protein synthesis takes place. Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum keep the protein together and transport
proteins that are made at the ribosome s. Mitochondria is where aerobic respiration takes place and
where energy is produced. Golgi Apparatus is where proteins are modified and Lysosomes are small
vesicles that contain digestive enzymes. All these organelles tend to be present in a Eukaryote cell. All
the cell content is in the Cytoplasm. (Boyle, Senior 2002, pp. 6 17)

Compare And Contrast The Poem Design And Once By The Pacific
Robert Frost, one of America s leading twentieth century poets, is best known for his use of rural life
and nature in his poems. Following this standard are two of Frost s works, Design and Once by the
Pacific. In both of these poems, the image of nature and the use of enjambment in both poems will be
seen as well as the difference in between the poems rhythm and structure. Both the poems Design and
Once by the Pacific have some image of nature in them as a way to make the reader reflect upon the
matter being addressed. In Design , nature takes the form of a spider feeding off a moth, a dimpled
spider.../holding up a moth (lines 1 2). There is also a significant amount of description on the white
heal all. Even though nature s medium changes in Once by the Pacific , the intention remains the
same. Here, Frost utilizes water, waves, clouds, and the sky, amongst several others of nature s
features. This can be seen in the following verses, The shattered water made a misty din./Great waves
looked over others coming in (lines 1 2). In both poems, the time of day is mentioned frequently. For

In Once by the Pacific , the rhythm is in Iambic Pentameter. This provides the poem with a consistent
rhythm throughout. This characterizes the elements presented in the poem, such as the waves, due to
the appliance of a beat to their actions. On the other hand, Design does not have a consistent rhythm
throughout the poem as a way to characterize the spider s motions. This is because even though the
motions are continuous, they are not constant. The spider s motions can be seen as a dependent
variable which changes according to the moth s reactions. Therefore, there are parts in the poem where
some verses can be recognized as being part of an Iambic Pentameter system, but overall, the poem is
not designed to follow that rhythmic

Several studies were completed with the aim to determine predisposing factors that lead to a patient

the size of the catheter, anatomical site of the IV, administration of antibiotics, the duration the

In many cases, two or more environmental factors may be interrelated or synergistic (Al Hadithi ,
Shabila, Saleh Al Diwan , 2012). Although the cause of most birth defects are unknown, certain
genetic and environmental factors increase the chance of birth defects developing. These factors
include exposure to radiation, certain drugs, alcohol, isotretinoin, accutane, nutritional deficiencies,
certain infections in the mother, injuries, and hereditary disorders. While some risks are avoidable
others occur no matter how strictly a pregnant woman adheres to healthful living practices.
Environmental substances that can cause birth defects are called teratogens. A teratogen is any
substance that can cause or increase the chance of a birth defect. Examples include radiation
(including x rays), certain drugs, and toxins (including alcohol). Most pregnant women who are
exposed to teratogens have newborns withabnormalities. Whether or not a birth defect occurs depends
on when, how much, and how long the pregnant woman was exposed to the teratogen. For example,
exposure to a teratogen during the time that certain parts of the brain are developing is more likely to
cause a defect in those areas than exposure before or after this critical period. Many birth

The Middle Of The 19th Century
Introduction
The middle of the 19th century, it was thought to be an unexceptional practice if a company s purchase
of its own shares back. However, the point of view against the continued existence of the power began
to grow in force after the advancement of the model of limited liability. The ruling out on share
repurchases was as a final point added into the common law in Trevor v Whithworth. The prevention
was afterward enacted in companies legislation in England and subsequently in the different
Commonwealth countries, as well as Australia. The Act integrated two requirements of particular
consideration to the Lords. Firstly, there was a condition that the company should give its nominal
capital. Secondly, the legislation provided for an all inclusive practice for reducing capital and the
assets of the company.
It is an essential reason of corporate law that the share capital of a company should be maintained.
Nonetheless, a corporation limited by shares is open to shrink its share capital by a ruling of its
members provided that the decrease is not prohibited by its Bylaws and Memorandum of Association
and the company act in accordance with the procedures set out in the Corporation Act 2001. The
concept of reduction in share capital is delineated as the method of lessening a company s shareholder
equity through share cancellations and buy backs. The reduction of funds is done by companies for
several reasons as well as the increasing value of shareholder and

Overcoming Stage Fright Research Paper
Overcoming stage fright was very difficult. I always hated singing and dancing in front of people. As a
kid I like singing and dancing.I would could find myself when I signing it was amazing to express my
self through my voice. In the beginning I was afraid to sing and dance in front of people. One day at
school there was an announcement that there would be a school play. I got so excited about it that I
rushed to sign up. I realized that I would have to audition and that meant I would have to sing in front
of other people.I bolted to Mr.Llyod s room and asked him what I would need to not be so afraid. He
said to sing in front of my parents,it might make you fell more comfortable performing for others.
After hearing him say that I went home and looked up some more ways to help overcome my stage
fright. So through that period of time I found ways to relax myself with deep breathing and
meditation. I did this a couple of times during the day. Then after doing that I asked my parents to go
the living room so I could sing for them. Before I started, I began breath very deeply and smoothly
.Then someone came in and I got scared again.Soon after that person left,I started to sing and in that

Examples Of The Ferrmi Paradox
The question of whether humanity is the only intelligent civilization in the Universe disturbs people
for centuries. The first thing that comes to mind while talking about life on other planets is the
existence of aliens highly intelligent humanoids of extraterrestrial origin, which looks similar to
humans and are often associated with aggression against humanity. Of course, the story has a lot of
examples where a person had some experience of coming across the traces of UFOs or unusual
aircrafts, called flying saucers. Some skeptics still do not accept the idea that in addition to the people
in the world there is a high probability that in the universe there are other more sophisticated and
evolved beings. However, the question of alien life does not deal only with intelligent creatures as
there may be other forms of life, from bacteria to little primitive organisms. Taking these into account

  • 2. Praxir Case Study Praxair: Company Values Praxair is widely regarded as being an environmentally conscious company with an almost impeccable reputation. In addition to their commitment to the environment, Praxair highly values their employees. For the second year in a row, Praxair has been named to the 2018 Corporate Equality Index with a perfect score. The Human Rights Campaign Foundation reports on corporate policies and practices related to the LGBTQ workplace equality. This report evaluates workplace protection, transgender inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. Praxair s Chief Diversity officer Vanessa Abrahams John stated on receiving the award, We continue to implement programs, policies and training globally that foster an inclusive environment for all of our employees, which has culminated a score of 100% on this important index. Receiving this external recognition for the second year in a row is a testament to the value we place on diversity and inclusion. (Targeted News Service). The company has made it part of their mission to provide and equal and safe work environment for all regardless sexual orientation/identity. For years, the LGBTQ community has been fighting for equality. It was only two years ago that the Supreme Court ruled in favor of same sex marriage. The LGBTQ community still faces inequality in the workplace. Businesses can choose whether they want to provide benefits to same sex partners or to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation, there is no law legally binding them. I consider this a great ethical decision that shows progressive values. Praxair supports other programs and initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion including: employee resource groups focused on the interests of millennial, women, veteran and other groups, scholarships and training programs for students of diverse backgrounds in STEM and education, and mentoring programs for all employees. Their neighbors had started to build extreme, exaggerated hysteria when a group of your girls were claimed to be possessed by bad spirits. It is said that when bad spirits come to our lives, it is because we do not have control over ourselves, and in those days, the villagers believed that bad spirits were the real devil. In the spring of 1692, there were a lot of accusations by villagers, claiming girls to be guilty of those suspicions. They believed that the devil could be free and they believed if they killed the accused, they could kill the bad spirit inside of them. Otherwise, many villages were scared because they had never seen those kinds of things before. However, the causes of that kind of thing could be strong belief in the occult, disputes, rivalries and personal differences, and a theory about the cold weather. • 4. The Stages Of Non Rem Sleep The stages of non REM sleep, stages 1 3, are defined by EEG activity. Slow wave sleep in stage 3 is the deepest stage of sleep. Alertness consists of desynchronized beta activity (13 30 Hz); relaxation and drowsiness consist of alpha activity (8 12 Hz); stage 1 sleep consists of alternating periods of alpha activity, irregular fast activity, and theta activity (3.5 7.5 Hz); the EEG of stage 2 sleep lacks alpha activity but contains sleep spindles (short periods of 12 14 Hz activity) and occasional K complexes; stage 3 sleep primarily consists of delta activity. About 90 minutes after the beginning of sleep, people enter REM sleep. Thereafter, cycles of REM and non REM sleep occur in periods of approximately 90 minutes. Muscle tone decreases throughout the stages, resulting in deepest relaxation and paralysis in REM sleep (Carlson Birkett, p. 268). The rate of cerebral blood flow during REM sleep is high in the extrastriate cortex but low in the striate cortex and the prefrontal cortex. This activity reflects a lack of visual in put in REM (little or no activation in the striate cortex), but the presence of active visual hallucinations during dreaming (activation in the extrastriate cortex). Lack of prefrontal cortex activity likely reflects the lack of organization and planning that occur in dreams. Regional cerebral blood flow during slow wave sleep is generally decreased throughout the brain compared to waking. However, some researchers have found localized increases ... But most people don t even recognize how much detail or even what kind of material the designer uses to create the article. Often time s people just buy a certain piece of clothing because it s what everybody else is wearing and it s the new fad, they really don t respect the time and effort the designer has put into the design, even more so they buy them just for the label associated with the article of the clothing. • 8. Hamlet Soliloquies Analysis All seven soliloquies in the play are based on several common themes such as death, incest, pain, fear, emptiness of existence, and pride and hypocrisy that make us human. To create these themes and further develop character, Shakespeare uses certain techniques. First of all, Shakespeare employs blank verse to create a smooth flowing rhythm and cadence. He masterfully switches back and forth between fast and slow pace by utilizing both short choppy sentences and fluent long ones. Secondly, it is clear that the soliloquies do not waste any word. Each syllable and sound adds depth to the development of Hamlet. Each soliloquy successfully conveys to the reader Hamlet s state of mind and intensity of his emotion. Most importantly, the soliloquies reveal something special that the play itself does no t. Just by looking at the play separately, it i s very hard for readers to notice the character development that Hamlet goes through. For instance, the beginning soliloquies prove that Hamlet is indecisive and irresolute. Thus, it i s the soliloquy found in each aAct of the play that readers can watch Hamlet grow internally. As an uptight and hypersensitive individual, Hamlet never seems to reveal much about his thoughts throughout the whole play. In fact, since Hamlet is inclined to express his emotions in a physically interactive way, including his abusive interaction with his mother and aggressive physical contact with Laertes and Claudius, it is rather difficult for the audience to interpret his intentions and his thoughts. His soliloquies, however, are the only ways in which the audience can finally gain an understanding of his thoughts. This soliloquy, also being the first, reveals him to be thoroughly disgusted with Gertrude, Claudius, and the world in general. This is when the King Claudius and Queen Gertrude urges Hamlet in the open court to cast off the deep melancholy which, as they think, has taken possession of his mind as a consequence of his father s death. • 11. Examples Of Figurative Language In Catcher In The Rye What is the author s style? In this case, Salinger s style is based on the many topics of literature, including the three basic elements, which are diction, syntax and figurative language. The Catcher In The Rye is a very eye catching book that talks about a young man named Holden, who got expelled from his school, Pencey Prep. Salinger speaks through the eyes of Holden Caulfield. His style is portrayed by showing the distinctive way he uses language compared to other authors. In this novel, Salinger shows the diction mainly during the dialogues between the characters. The diction of The Catcher In The Rye is informal due to the different types of colloquial used throughout the story. An example of this colloquial diction in the book was when Stradlater told Holden to hurry up in this way, Why don tcha? I will, in minute time. (Stradlater, p.32) We can see that Stradlater uses a type of slang language as in don tcha. This shows the diction of the story and how it gives us a feel for what Salinger was trying to do to catch the reader s attention. This novel also shows us many examples of imagery and symbolism. Imagery gives us a picture of what is happening in that scene of the story. Imagery gives the reader a realistic look of it. Symbolism just shows an object or something in that book that represents something special to one of the characters or even the author. These both can affect the author s style by setting the mood of the story. In this novel, there was an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On the other hand, Design does not have a consistent rhythm throughout the poem as a way to characterize the spider s motions. This is because even though the motions are continuous, they are not constant. The spider s motions can be seen as a dependent variable which changes according to the moth s reactions. Therefore, there are parts in the poem where some verses can be recognized as being part of an Iambic Pentameter system, but overall, the poem is not designed to follow that rhythmic ... Although the cause of most birth defects are unknown, certain genetic and environmental factors increase the chance of birth defects developing. These factors include exposure to radiation, certain drugs, alcohol, isotretinoin, accutane, nutritional deficiencies, certain infections in the mother, injuries, and hereditary disorders. While some risks are avoidable others occur no matter how strictly a pregnant woman adheres to healthful living practices. Environmental substances that can cause birth defects are called teratogens. A teratogen is any substance that can cause or increase the chance of a birth defect. Examples include radiation (including x rays), certain drugs, and toxins (including alcohol). Most pregnant women who are exposed to teratogens have newborns withabnormalities. Whether or not a birth defect occurs depends on when, how much, and how long the pregnant woman was exposed to the teratogen. People knew of its healing properties but its use wasn t necessarily used as much. In the year 200, a Chinese Surgeon named Hua T o created an anesthetic using cannabis. In ancient China, it was believed that surgery was only to be done as a last resort and doctors preferred simple treatments because of the pain involved in surgery. Hua T o solved this problem by preparing an herbal solution of hemp in the form of a tea that his patients would consume. Professor Ernest L. Abel said, Chinese surgeon Hua T o performed surgeries such as organ grafts, resectioning of intestines, laparotomies (incisions into the loin), and thoracotomies (incisions into the chest)... rendered painless by means of ma yo, an anaesthetic made from cannabis resin and wine. • 35. Examples Of The Ferrmi Paradox The question of whether humanity is the only intelligent civilization in the Universe disturbs people for centuries. The first thing that comes to mind while talking about life on other planets is the existence of aliens highly intelligent humanoids of extraterrestrial origin, which looks similar to humans and are often associated with aggression against humanity. Of course, the story has a lot of examples where a person had some experience of coming across the traces of UFOs or unusual aircrafts, called flying saucers. Some skeptics still do not accept the idea that in addition to the people in the world there is a high probability that in the universe there are other more sophisticated and evolved beings. However, the question of alien life does not deal only with intelligent creatures as there may be other forms of life, from bacteria to little primitive organisms. Enrico Fermi was interested in why, if extraterrestrials exist, until now (at the time) was found absolutely no sign of them, such as spacecraft, probes, intelligence apparatus or any radio? After billions of years, during which the universe exists, they certainly would have to appear and manifest. Although these arguments do not prove the absence of primitive forms of life on other planets, whose level of evolution does not allow them to contact with the inhabitants of the ...
