The title of my music video is called A Dark Place
Audience:

Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
My target audience will be the middle class aged 15 – 25. My audience that I will be
targeting are males. My product will appeal to this audience because I am creating a hip-
hop video and these are the demographics from the hip-hop genre. To make this appeal to
my audience I will include conventional hip-hop effects and make the music video look
aesthetically pleasing.

At the start of the year we made an irn-bru advert. From this I learned the basic of adobe
premiere pro which is the software that I will be using for my music video, when making the
irn-bru advert this taught my simply how to cut clips and place them together so that they
work effectively. Also, when doing this project, I had to go out with a camera and film. This
taught me how to use a camera efficiently and to manually change settings instead of just
using the camera in auto. This will help me with my music video because it means I can
change the settings on the camera to how I want the shot to look
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/
The concept for my project is to film a hip-hop / rap music video. I want this video to look
aesthetically pleasing and to have cool effects going on. This music video will not have a
narrative and will just be made to have it look good and go well with the song. The research
I need to conduct for my project will be to look at various different location that I want to
film at. I also need to think about different camera shots that I am going to use and need to
think about different techniques. I will need to have a look at what effects I will use and how
to make them suit my music video. To do this I am going to watch various different music
videos by different artists and different directors. From doing this it will give me inspiration
and creative ideason what I could include in my own music video that I am going to be
making. I will also carry out research on how to do these effects that I am wanting to
include within my own project.
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
What specialist techniques do you need to consider? (e.g. green screen, Steadicam, post-
production, sound, etc)
Does this require any specialist equipment/training/demos?
I am not using any specialist equipment I am going to need a camera, a microphone and a
speaker and a tripod when I go out and film my music video. This doesn’t require any
specialist equipment. I will need training within my editing which I am going to do within my

experimentsso that when it comes to editing the final product, I have the right knowledge
that I need as I have experiment with this. I also need to practise filming so that when it
comes time for me to film my video I know how to get good shots and I know what different
shots that I want to use
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your final
self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.
I plan on evaluation my work by taking screenshots as I go when it comes to editing, so if
something goes wrong, I will screenshot it then I can talk about it when it comes to write
about my evaluation. I will also take screenshots of the camera shots even if I don’t use
them in my actual music video. With these screenshots that I will have I will say what I liked
about the shot say what I didn’t and can say how I can make this better within the future.
