THE PRESENTATION
THE ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
INTEGRATION METHOD IN GEOGRAPHY
IN BAC LIEU PROVINCE
The question: EE integration in the academic curricula at schools is an urgent
task, helps students aware of and have interest in environment, particularly
where they are living. Through EE, students will behave properly and have
necessary skills to harmonize with their living environment; EE also helps
students be independent or cooperate with other individuals or collective
groups for the solutions of existing environment and prevention of future
environmental problems towards sustainable development.
EE is one of the components of the Project – “Adaptation to Climate
Change through the Promotion of Biodiversity in Bac Lieu Province”. With the
support of GIZ Bac Lieu, teachers have implemented a EE integration in
Geography in Bac Lieu Province.

Conclusion: with limited time, my presentation only focuses on EE integration
method in Geography at school in general. This presentation is also my
experiences and other facilitators’ experience.

3. Environmental education integration in teaching geography

  • 1. THE PRESENTATION THE ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION INTEGRATION METHOD IN GEOGRAPHY IN BAC LIEU PROVINCE
  • 2. The question: EE integration in the academic curricula at schools is an urgent task, helps students aware of and have interest in environment, particularly where they are living. Through EE, students will behave properly and have necessary skills to harmonize with their living environment; EE also helps students be independent or cooperate with other individuals or collective groups for the solutions of existing environment and prevention of future environmental problems towards sustainable development. EE is one of the components of the Project – “Adaptation to Climate Change through the Promotion of Biodiversity in Bac Lieu Province”. With the support of GIZ Bac Lieu, teachers have implemented a EE integration in Geography in Bac Lieu Province. BACKGROUND
  • 3. THE IMPLEMENTING METHOD EE INTEGRATION IN GEOGRAPHY Report of special topics Academic curricula Extra curricula Field trip ENVIRONMENT EDUCATION INTERGRATION IN GEOGRAPY
  • 4. ACCADEMIC CURRICULA In accordance with lesson content and lessons & lesson parts where EE integration implemented Integration content and method MoET guidelines and Bac Lieu GIZ document Facilitators discuss with teacher working groups (TWGs) Monthly reports to the project by facilitators ENVIRONMENT EDUCATION INTERGRATION IN GEOGRAPY
  • 5. REPORTS OF SPECIAL TOPICS Reports of special topics in the first meeting under the school flag of the week Agree on the method and content as the planned objectives Facilitators discuss with TWGs ENVIRONMENT EDUCATION INTERGRATION IN GEOGRAPY
  • 6. EXTRA CURRICULA Organization for students to report their writings and discussion The competition for understanding of local environment & natural resources Bac Lieu GIZ coordinator and teachers of Biology, Geography and Civic Education agree on the content and method ENVIRONMENT EDUCATION INTERGRATION IN GEOGRAPY
  • 7. THE FIELD TRIP THE ORGANIZATION AND IMPLEMENTATION FOR FIELD TRIP TO UNDERSTAND PRATICAL STATUS OF LOCAL ENVIRONMENT & NATURAL RESOURCES Step 1 Step 3 GIZ Bac Lieu Coordinator , teachers and school youth unions develop field trip plan . Deploy and implement the plan Step 2 School management board and GIZ Bac Lieu PMU approve the field trip plan Fund provided by GIZ Bac Lieu ENVIRONMENT EDUCATION INTERGRATION IN GEOGRAPY
  • 8. Conclusion: with limited time, my presentation only focuses on EE integration method in Geography at school in general. This presentation is also my experiences and other facilitators’ experience. I hope I have shared my experiences with you and expect to get your feedback. CONCLUSION
