INNOVATION IN
THE CLASSROOM
1. Undertake Action Research
•action research involves the application of the
     scientific method to resolving classroom
•many action research projects are carried out
     in a single classroom by a single teacher;
others are carried out by all teachers in a
            school or even school district.
   • the focus of this project is on obtaining
     knowledge about specific local problems.
2. Strive to Create and Maintain a Well-
         Organized Environment
•Basically, a well-organized environment refers to
the promotion of an atmosphere which will foster
       imaginative and creative activities.

•Pupils are happier in a pleasant physical
atmosphere and, in turn, will be socially more
              acceptable to others.
According to Good (1959), classroom
  management encompasses six elements,

The physical features of the classroom

Use of supplies and reference
                                   Discipline
          materials

  The social
                  General
relationships Democratic
                housekeeping
   of pupils
According to Shipley et al. (1964), Three OBJECTIVES in
promotion of a well-organized environment in the classroom-
                  and in the entire school.

    To have
                                           to promote a
  efficiency in climate or
                     Is to efficiently
    both the atmosphere which
                          use the
 teacher’s and will foster
                         physical imaginative,
 students’ use
                     facilities of the creative, and
    of time,
                          school. productive
  energy, and
                                              activities
    activity.
To have efficiency in both the teacher’s and pupils’ use
              of time, energy, and activity.
To efficiently use the physical facilities of the school,
such as library, the laboratory, gymnasium and so forth
To promote climate or atmosphere which will foster
  imaginative, creative, and productive activities.
The Congressional Commission on Education
(EDCOM) stated in its Report (1993) stated:
The basic objective of educational governance is
to manage the educational system as effectively
and efficiently as possible so that the mission,
goal, and objectives of education will be attained
at the least social and economical costs.
