Personality Test Research Paper
Personality test can offer a great deal of insight to someone. After taking the Myers Brigs test, I
have confirmed much of what I have thought about myself. My score is ISTJ. This stands for
introversion, sensing, thinking, and judging, which very accurately describes me. While it can
be challenging for personality test to fully understand someone with just a few questions, this
Myers Brigs test described me very well. I very strongly agree with the results I have received.
The first letter of my score is I, which stands for introversion. I have always been more of an
introvert than an extrovert. Alone time is something I have always had an appreciation for and
felt was necessary for my happiness. The next letter in my type stands for sensing. This means I
heavily rely on my five senses to take in information. The aspect of me can be seen in the way I
learn. I feel I learn best when doing hands on activities, which is consistent with sensing people.
The third letter in my type is T, which represents thinking. Like the other personally traits from this
test, this one accurately describes me. Thinking people prefer solid logic, and facts. I have always...

There have been plenty of times in the recent past that I have acted out of type . One example of
this is last weekend, when I went out with a big group, instead of only hanging out with only my
close friends. This is not typical behavior for an introvert. Although this is not something I would
typically find enjoyable, I had a surprisingly good time. Another occurrence of my acting out of
type is over the weekend, when I should have been getting ahead on homework. Typically, the
weekends are a great time for me to get ahead on work to ensure I meet all deadlines. Instead, last
weekend I procrastinated and got very little done. This is not what would be expected from
someone with the judging personality

EMail Privacy Rights In Business Essay
E mail Privacy Rights In Business
I.Abstract
How far we have come in such a small time. When you think that the personal computer was
invented in the early 1980 s and by the end of the millennium, several households have two PC s, it
is an astonishing growth rate. And, when you consider business, I can look around the office and
see that a lot of the cubicles contain more than one PC. It is astonishing to me that such an item has
taken control over the information technology arena like personal computers. Consider, however,
the items that go along with personal computers: printers; modems; telephone lines for your
modem; scanners; the software; online access; and lets not forget, e mail addresses.
E mail, or electronic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Among these dangers is privacy, in particular, what legal rights corporations and employees have in
keeping their communications private. This paper will introduce the current legislation in this area,
the expectation of privacy an employee should have, any court decisions that provide additional
ruling, and what a corporation can do to prevent litigation in these matters.
II.Employees Expectation of Privacy in e mail
As an e mail systems manager, I was under the impression that since the company owns the
electronic messaging system, the company could view the contents of any employees e mail
account at any time. I was only partially right. The explanation of the current law will describe this
in detail, but, the employee does have a certain right to privacy where e mail is concerned.
Arguably, a company s most valuable asset is it s data. In the age of technological marvels, it is
easier to create more valuable data and, on the other hand, that data is more easily retrievable,
especially by persons not authorized to obtain the data. Employees of companies can expect a
certain right of privacy granted by three main sources: (1) The United States Constitution; (2)
Federal Statutes (The Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986); and (3) State Statutes
(many of which have not addressed the issue).
The United States Constitution provides a limited group of employees with privacy safeguards.
The safeguards are based

Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin In The Sun
The Importance of the Struggle in A Raisin in the Sun
Why do some people persist despite insurmountable obstacles, while others give up quickly or
never bother to try (Gunton 118)? A Raisin in the Sun, a play by Lorraine Hansberry, is a
commentary on life and our struggle to comprehend and control it. The last scene in the play
between Asagai and Beneatha contrasts two contemporary views on why we keep on trying to
change the future, and reaches the conclusion that, far from being a means to an end, the real
meaning of life is the struggle. Whether we succeed or not, our lives are purposeful only if we
have tried to make the world a better place for ourselves and others only, in other words, if we
follow our dreams. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was in this sort of mood that Beneatha formulated an idea about the sheer stupidity and cruelty
of nature in general and people in specific: Don t you see there isn t any real progress, there is
only one large circle that we march in, around and around, each of us with our own little picture in
front of us our own little mirage that we think is the future (Hansberry. Raisin). Misery and
stupidity are always present: man does not seem capable of eliminating them once and for all.
Their existence conspires to thwart dreams, and Beneatha decided that she was tired of the
struggle, tired of deluding herself with an unworkable vision, tired of having to fight against the
unchangeable facts of life a view she might have kept, as many have, if it were not for Asagai s
gentle reasoning.
For Asagai, the struggle to achieve our own views of the future was the real essence of life. His
was the generation of African dreamers who passionately advocated the independence of their
continent from colonial rule, for whom revolution and upheaval were generally perceived as the
only ways to improve the lot of their homelands. In his country, he lived daily with oppression,
misery, and ignorance, met constantly with apathy and indifference or even outright hostility
towards his life s aspirations, and yet his determination never faltered. In his short

The Type of Liquid on Growth of Jelly Marble
The reason for the experiment is to see which liquid makes the Jelly Marble grow the most. Jelly
Marbles are clear spheres made from an superabsorbent polymer and about 99% water. This
makes it so that it absorbs water very quickly. If the jelly marbles are soaked in 70% rubbing

1.12 milliliters. The volumes for trial 1, 0.17 milliliters, and for trial 2, 0.03 milliliters, has a big
difference. The density for the Jelly Marbles that soaked in water was approximately 1.4 milliliters.
Trail 1 for the Jelly Marbles soaked in food coloring also had a density of 1.4 milliliters but, trial 2

Fundamentals Of A Common Law Contract
Fundamentals of a Common Law Contract Sandra Rhames Smith BUS670 Instructor: Mark A.

legal agreement is constructed that bonds a party of two or more individuals, corporations, etc.,

contain these elements; an offer, an acceptance, defined terms, capacity and legal consideration. A
Contracts can largely be in written or verbal form, using either formal or informal terms, and
conditions. However, verbal contract agreement are harder to prove in the court of law and the
burden is usually solely on the injured party. In the legal system there are two types of contracts, a
common law contract and a contract that is governed under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).
The employment contract with the non compete clause between Fabulous Hotel and myself is
considered to be under common law contractual agreement. As described in the textbook Business
law for Managers it states that, If the contract deals with anything other than sales of goods (e.g.,
real estate, insurance, or personal services), then it is governed by the common law. When you hire
an employee to join your staff, you enter into a contract that is governed by principles of common
law. (Seaquist 2012). In the employment agreement signed upon my initial two year agreement it
included a non competition clause Seaquist (2012)

Contraceptives and Misconceptions Essay
Contraceptives and Misconceptions
There are many serious issues facing the U.S. today that require the rethinking of our problem
solving methods. In many situations, we may let our emotions interfere with our interpretations of
the facts. When a question of morals is involved, we often focus on what we want and not on what
we ve got. One of the most complicated and emotional issues today is the subject of making
contraceptives available to teenagers. Can it be that adult misconceptions are causing teenage
conceptions?
The statistics on teen sex are staggering. According to Mrs. Seth, spokesperson for Planned
Parenthood, Eighty five percent of high school students, by the time they reach the twelfth grade, are

If children don t have sex, they don t need protection. If they do have sex, pregnancy and sexually
transmitted diseases shouldn t be a price they have to pay for the attitudes of adults who don t
approve. Unfortunately, teenagers can and do have sex without parental approval. The truth
becomes apparent when a teen becomes a parent.
Parents try to be aware of what their children are doing; however, it is a misconception to think
that sexual activity can be controlled at all times. Our society, not biology, declares that teens are
not supposed to engage in sex. Teenagers are designed by nature to have sex, are possessed of all
the necessary equipment to do so, and have the mental capabilities to hide such behavior from
adults. The sex drive is not caused by teachers, contraceptives, or the media. Although well meant,
the notion that parental warnings can make sex less appealing is arrogant and foolish. Teenagers
are having sex without permission, and the goal must be to minimize the damage, not look for
someone to blame. As adults struggle with controlling the actions of their children, they should
protect them at the same time. If children are forbidden to have sex, it is unlikely that they will
discuss sexual problems with the very person who told them it is not permissible. There must be
options available to them, such as sex education

The Human Face Action Recognition System
Abstract In this paper we implement the Human Face Action Recognition System in Wireless
Sensor Network. Detecting movements of human is one of the key applications of wireless sensor
networks. Existing technique is detecting movements of a target using face tracking in wireless
sensornetwork work efficiently but here we implementing face action recognition system by using
image processing and algorithms with sensors nodes. Using sensor node we can collect the
information, data about human facial expressions and movements of human body and comparing
old data captured by sensors to the new capturing data, if data is match then we can say that
detecting human is same as early. Here we create new framework for face tracking and its
movements capturing, achieve tracking ability with high accuracy using Wireless Sensor
Networks. We use the Edge Detection Algorithms, Optimal Selection Algorithm, Image Processing
Technique, Action Recognition, the big data analysis. Using java language, various types of sensors.

Different Abilities That Set Humans Apart From Other Lives...
One of the unique abilities that set humans apart from other life forms is the ability of speech
production. Although it occurs involuntarily the act of speaking can be traced back to neural
level even before the muscles are directed to move or before the first breathe is taken to supply
the energy source for speech. Most people may not realize it but the fact is saying a word or even
a sound is quite laboring on the body, especially when it must occur rapidly to even create a single
sentence.
Before a word or even a sound is produced the respiratory and phonatory systems must be activated
and set into motion. Respiration which fuels the body is defined as the exchange of gas between an
organism and its environment (Seikel, page 35), while Phonation is defined to be the product of
vocal fold vibration which occurs within the larynx (Sekiel, page 165). In preparation to breathe, the
diaphragm must move inferiorly giving the lungs room to expand. This intake of air must travel a
great distance from either the nose or mouth, down through the larynx, and into the trachea, bronchi
and, finally, lungs. While simply breathing, the air will travel through the vocal folds which remain
in the abducted position. During speech production the vocal folds will adduct causing the air
traveling through them to create a rippling effect as the folds vibrate. It is important to note this is
merely the beginning stage at this point and that sounds produced at this point would resemble that

Analysis Of Waiting For Godot
Originally performed in 1953 in French, Samuel Beckett s Waiting for Godot took the stage at the
Soulpepper Theatre in Toronto. The play tells the story of Vladimir and Estragon, two men who
wait for Godot, someone or something they have not met to seen. The Soulpepper Production
illustrates the journey that plays with Vladimir and Estragons mind and emotion, in regard to the
interactions with their surroundings and themselves. The main focus of the production directs the
audience s attention towards an enclosed setting that limit the actions originally sought in the play.
The production however, focused more on Vladimir and Estragon s relationship, the play does not
capture the same effect. Thus, the production is a mere interpretation from what the play offers in
portraying the stage. From the play to the stage, Waiting for Godotillustrates how an enclosed
setting represents Vladimir and Estragon s mind. The production revolved around how the set and
setting illustrated how the characters interacted with one another and their surroundings. The
structure of the stage appeared to look like an alley way with concrete styled wall and a tree
placed in the center; the setting which occurred in a rectangular box. Therefore, Vladimir and
Estragon performed in an enclosed space; thus, represented their mind. Originally, the play takes
place in a country road and Estragon sits on a mound, but the production has the actor playing
Estragon sitting on a concrete brick. The

Moulin Rouge Film Analysis
I first came across the highly stylized film Moulin Rouge! when I was Fourteen years old.
Immediately, I became obsessed. Yet, despite several months of fixation with the lavish musical, I
have not watched the Baz Luhrmann directed film in almost seven years. A lot has changed in my
life since my initial viewing. Yet, many things which first captivated me about the film still
remain true. Therefore, a re viewing of the film in order to track my emotional engagement with
the film seems applicable. While I still consider the film to be a masterpiece; some aspects of the
film increased transportation while others discouraged it. By looking at specific devices Moulin
Rouge! utilizes as well as my own individual interpretations, my engagement with the film can be
explored.
As a device that drives the film and helps create the most emotional impact, the music within the
film is particularly of note. As Sheida Sheikhha and Behrooz Mahmoodi Bakhtiari point out,
Moulin Rouge! is a jukebox musical to a significant degree. The Elephant Love Medley alone
consists of 12 different songs, from popular artists such as The Beatles and David Bowie. One of
the most impressive aspects of the film is how it adapts popular hits, cuts, and converses with
them in order to create brand new, original meanings which fit the theme of the movie songs which
say far more about the period in which the film was made than the period it depicts. The songs
produced from the recycled material

Major Cardiac Circuits
The two major cardiovascular circuits in the human body is the pulmonary circuit and the systemic
circuit. Both of these circuits work together in order to make the body function properly. The
major difference between these two circuits is where the blood travels and what areas of the body
the blood reaches. The pulmonary circuit carries bloodto only the lungs which focuses more on gas
exchange. The systemic circuit carries blood to the tissues in the entire body which focuses more
on supplying the tissues with oxygen and nutrients. Another interesting fact that separates these two
circuits is the blood itself and the process that which it flows. At the beginning of the pulmonary
circuit, the blood is deoxygenated. The oxygen poor blood then

Comparing the Epic of Gilgamesh, Hesiod s Theogony, and Ovid s Metamorphoses
There are many parallels between the Epic of Gilgamesh, Hesiod s Theogony, and Ovid s
Metamorphoses. The first similarity is immediately apparent: structure. We can view the structure
of the Gilgamesh story as three concentric circles: a story within a story within a story. In the outer
circle, a narrator prepares the audience for the primary narrative, contained within the second
circle: the tale of Gilgamesh s adventures. Within this second circle a third narrative, the flood
story, is told to Gilgamesh by Utanapishtim. Ovid s Metamorphoses is told in a similar way: Ovid
starts out by telling of his intention and invoking the gods help to tell the story. ... Show more

In Metamorphoses, Ovid tells the reader his intention to tell of bodies changed / to different forms
and invokes the gods to help him with the poem.
This method of framing the tale does another thing: it gives an oral quality to the work. These
myths began as oral tales passed from one generation to the next, which were eventually written
down. It is interesting that the way they are written down reflects the oral nature of the original
versions a storyteller telling a story to an audience. It lends an immediacy to the work, leading
us to look for its applicability to our own times. Because of this immediacy, there is an
unintended irony that occurs in the reading of Gilgamesh. The narrator begins, Notice the strong
walls of our city of Uruk! These walls were built by Gilgamesh . . . Now study the inner walls of
our city. Examine the fine brickwork. These walls, too, surpass all others! (28). The irony is that
these walls are probably deeply buried and cannot be seen, or if excavated, must be merely
crumbled remnants of the once impermeable wall.
Another similarity is in the structure of the mythological world. In all three mythologies, the gods
reside in the sky, whether in the heavens or on a mountaintop. Below the sky rests the earth, and
below that, the Underworld. Even the god structure is similar between the Sumerian mythology and
the Greco Roman tradition. There is a usurped sky god (Uranus or Ouranos in Greek

Unit 2 Research Essay
24 October 2016 The Renaissance painter, sculptor, and poet Michelangelo is famous not only for
his painting of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel or his sculpture of the Biblical King David, but he
also created another Biblical figure, the Hebrew Prophet Moses. The sculpture was commissioned
by Pope Julius II, in an attempt to mirror his larger than life reputation and personality.
Michelangelo Moses along with other pieces of sculpture and artwork were to be enshrined in the
Pope s planned resting place, with the Moses statue placed opposite of another figure of Saint
Paul. However, it would never come to be, as the Moses sculpture would not be completed until
more than 30 years after Pope Julius death in 1513. Pope Julius II had commissioned Michelangelo
to paint the Sistine Chapel as well as build his entire tomb, but the chapel frescos occupied all of
the painter s time (Michelangelo Gallery.com). However, once the Sistine Chapel frescos were
finally completed Michelangelo immediately resumed his work on Moses, completing it in 1545.
This sculpture marks a significant innovation, combining sculpturing and architecture for the first
time in his career. Completed out of nothing but marble, the Moses became one of Michelangelo s
crowning achievements along with the Sistine Chapel frescos and his sculpture of David. It was
placed on the second tier of Pope Julius II s tomb which is housed in the church of San

Comparing Synoptic Gospels In Matthew, Mark, And Luke
Synoptic Comparison Matthew, Mark, and Luke are the three books in the New Testament that
have been titled the synoptic gospels. The three gospels differ in some dramatic ways, but have
many similar stories and accounts of the life of Jesus. There have been disputes over the source
and the relationship between the three gospels, but most scholars tend to agree that the gospel of
Markwas written first, and the authors of Matthew and Luke used Mark as a source for their
work. This Markan priority helps scholars to begin to examine the differences and similarities that
appear across the synoptic gospels, and determine how and why many pericopes seem to vary and
even contradict each other at times. An example of one of the passages that... Show more content on

In Mark, Jesus time in his hometown of Nazareth abruptly ends when he decides to leave town
and go to teach in other villages. Luke, however, tells us that Jesus interactions with the
Nazarenes are not yet over. Jesus begins to tell the people how in the time of Elijah and Elisha
there was a famine in the land and many people were suffering because of it, Gentiles and Jews
alike. Elijah and Elisha, however, were sent by God not to the Jews and people of Israel, but to
outsiders in other places. This was a form of punishment for the people of Israel for the rejection
of God. Jesus pointed out the passage because he wanted to warn the Nazarenes of what might
happen if they continue to reject his teachings. Another possibility is that Luke added this
section to promote his social agenda of righting the situations of people that have been wronged
and, more importantly, giving up money and possessions to the poor, outcasts and women.
Jesus talks about how God decided to send the prophets to the outcasts in other regions rather
than the Israelites, who had already received much favor from God in the past. The Nazarenes
were offended at Jesus mention of God s inclusion of Gentiles by sending aid for them and not
for the Jews, showing universalism. God blessed the people that were righteous and worthy of
his aid, and the Jews were not happy that Jesus brought up God s sending of his prophets to
Gentiles as opposed to Jews in the Old Testament. This addition by Luke explains why the

The Handmaids Tale
Deisy Monterrozo English 101 S26487 Fall 2017 September 20, 2017 The Handmaids Tale
Margaret Atwood s novel, The Handmaid s Tale, is a future version of the United States.
Atwood introduces Offred as a handmaid in the Republic of Gilead. Handmaids are assigned to
bear children for couples who have trouble conceiving. Offred serves the commander and his
wife, Serena Joy. Offred s freedom is completely restricted. She can only leave the house on
shopping trips, the door of her room cannot be completely shut, and the Eyes, Gilead s secret
police force, watch her every public move. Offred tells the story of her daily life, frequently

Serena Joy, she used to be a powerful woman, but Galilea s government seems without freedom
or choice. She worked as a gospel singer and anti feminist activist and crusader for traditional
values in Pre Gilead times. After that, she used to give speeches as a television personality who
promoted an anti feminist about the sanctity of the home she was advocating the women return
to the home and submission to their husbands. Now, she s the commander s wife. Atwood makes
it obvious how unhappy she is in the current domestic situation, acting as a wife, she is broken
inside. This unhappiness derives from the restrictive and male dominated society. Gilead s
society cannot bring happiness even to its most powerful women. Only men have the freedom
of reading, and while he is in the room he opens the Bible and reads a verse that Serena Joy is
identified with, Give me children, or else I die. Am I in God s stead, who hath withheld from
thee the fruit of the womb? Behold my maid Bilhah. She shall bear fruit upon my knees, that I
may also have children by her. (88) This verse in the bible is talking about how she wants to bear
children. In Gilead, they make their people believe that if they cannot have children, then they
should die. If Serena could not bear children, she will be sent to the colonies to die. Atwood shows
us that Offred has not freedom of choice and she

The Role Of Voting In The UK
Some European friend asked me how I am going to vote in the UK EU referendum. That is a
question not only the majority of people in the UK and Europe is asking and contemplating,

going to vote. I haven t yet made up my mind. The politicians don t know what will happen, and
if the people in the UK vote leave the EU neither are they able to predict the outcome. This
referendum has split political parties, and has brought political enemies to join forces. One side

William Craft House And Slave Dwelling
Introduction
Incorporating Mississippi Works Progress Administration Slave Narratives, the diary of Emma
Finley, and excerpts of the Finley family cookbook from 1858 with artifact evidence found at the
Hugh Craft House from the foundation repair in 2008 and excavation artifacts from Fall 2014
and Spring 2015, together, will give a greater insight to the foodways of the Craft family and
slaves residing on the site. The purpose of this paper is to examine the artifacts collected, cataloged,
and analyzed thus far from the Hugh Craft house and slave dwelling site and compare the findings
to analysis of slave diets throughout the south up until 1860 to determine if the Hugh Craft family
and their nine slaves shared food or food patterns.
Background
Hugh Craft travelled from Georgia to Holly Springs, Mississippi in 1839. In 1851, Craft rebuilt
the main house, but kept the original slave dwelling structure that dates to the early 19th century
The slave dwelling, still standing, was used as a detached kitchen from the early 19th century
up until possibly the Great Depression or later. According to a United States census record,
during the 1860s Craft owned nine slaves; two adult females, ages 28 and 25, five male slaves,
ages 16, 15, 9, 3, and one age not legible, and two female children, ages 12 and 64. Hugh Craft
owned higher than the average urban slave dwelling, usually having 1 3 slaves . A 1850s United
States census record shows that the Craft family included Hugh Craft,

A Utopia turned wrong would cause suspicion, discomfort, curiosity, anger, malevolent behavior
and all loss for true love. Riots would occur turning civilized people to become savages and

Argumentative Essay On Bill 9

good amount of Information that is Against Bill number 9 like how it actually would not help
the federal highway system and public transportation it would just hurt them because the 45
cents raise in cost for gas may sound like it is not much, but when paying for gas that 45 cents
would cause it to go up from 60$ for a full gas tank to 90$ for a full gas tank. Another reason why
raising the gas prices would be bad is that it would cost so much more to take publ=ic transportation

How did the Reformation affect German society in the 16th and 17th centuries?
Part A: Identification and Evaluation of Sources
This report will explore how did the Reformation affect German society in the 16th and 17th
centuries. The Reformation took place mainly during the 16th century and many things resulted
from that. It was a big turning point for society when everything was changing with the politics,
education received, and religion people had. This started when the power of the church was
beginning to break and the Church had an enormous amount of power over people before the
Reformation. The research done for this essay was based off primary and secondary sources that
discuss the effects the reformation had on German society. Dr. Jack L. Arnold s writes The Cause
and Results of the Reformation , which described several general effects the Reformation had on
society. Karen E. Spierling is the author of an encyclopedia and she analyzes several effects the
Reformation had on several areas around Europe including Germany.

Facets Of Motherhood
MOTHERHOOD AS INSTITUTION AND EXPERIENCE: A STUDY OF THE POEM AN
INTRODUCTION BY KAMALA DAS. By: JASVEERA PARMAR
ABSTRACT This paper is based on the two facets of motherhood, as postulated by the feminist
theory. The first is the political facet, in which motherhood as an institution serves to enslave a
woman. This opinion was entertained by the second wave feminists, who supported the view that
institutionalisation of motherhood served the patriarchal design. The second is the personal facet,
in which motherhood as an experience serves to empower a woman. This view is supported by the
third wave feminists, who proposed maternal revivalism to encourage women to empower
themselves through motherhood. Kamala Das poem An Introduction has been analysed to explore
this theory.
KEYWORDS: Experience, feminism, facet, institution, motherhood.

The feminist approaches, on the issue of motherhood, show that in the late 1970s the feminist views

Speech On Good Seed Is Wasted
Good seed is wasted when planted in the midst of weeds, and good thoughts are wasted in a
consciousness of need, or greed. This is why it is so important to prepare the soil (soul), before
sowing the seed (of thought). Yet, amazingly, when people get no results from their prayers, they
pray all the more! When desperate, even the devout ignore what Jesus taught about prayer: But
when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard
for their much speaking. [Mt. 6:7] Repetitious prayers, such as the repetition of affirmations, and
chanting, or going through the steps of a ritual, may change one s conscious state, however, they
are ill suited to changing one s consciousness. Planting seeds does not uproot weeds; and, affirming
universal Truths never enlightened the mindof one who thinks the worst about himself or others.
Effective prayer requires the expression of one s consciousness, not the contradiction of it. Making
statements that do not express, but, instead, contradict one s consciousness is hypocrisy. Jesus
recommended that, before we pray at the altar, we first make peace with our brother. He also
recommended the practice of forgiveness, fasting, non judgment, repentance, and giving freely.
Praying prior to preparing our soul is like sowing seeds before cultivating the soil; both are
ineffective. We cannot afford to pray in vain: thinking we re doing something and yet
accomplishing nothing. When we pray in a way

The Function Of The Thyroid Gland
Hypothyroidism occurs when there is deficient thyroid hormone secretion by the thyroid gland. It is
also referred to as an underactive thyroid. This paper will discuss the function of the thyroid gland,
as well as the causes, classification, risk factors, clinical features, laboratory values, diagnostic
imaging, and treatment of hypothyroidism.
The thyroid gland is located anteriorly in the lower neck, just inferior to the laryngeal
prominence, which is also referred to as the Adam s apple. It extends from the fifth cervical
vertebra to the first thoracic vertebra. The gland varies in shape, ranging from an H shape to a U
shape. It is formed by two extended lateral lobes connected by a median isthmus.
The thyroid is an endocrine gland which functions to regulate metabolism in the body. Three
hormones are produced: triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxine (T4), and calcitonin. T3 and T4 increase
the basal metabolic rate in the body. These hormones also affect brain development, body
temperature, breathing, cholesterol levels, heart and nervous system functions, menstrual cycles,
muscle strength, skin dryness, and weight (National Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases Information
Service, 2013). Calcitonin maintains calcium levels in the blood.
Thyroid hormones are produced by iodine metabolism. The thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) is
produced by the pituitary gland and releases thyroid hormones into the bloodstream when
necessary. TSH is regulated by the

Sexual Assault On College Campuses

All of these females said it was carried out by force or threat of force, or while they were

This solution to the problem will essentially cost little to no money for the colleges. The only
thing they would have to do is put this information into their student handbook. If someone
disobeys the policy, a legal action will take place and the police will then become involved. If
colleges implement this it will make this rising issue come to a stop since further punishment will
take place if there is an incident against the policy. There are now over 800 colleges that use
affirmative consent standard in sexual assault policies. In California, Governor Jerry Brown, signed
legislation requiring colleges in the state to adopt sexual assault policies that shifted the burden of
proof in campus sexual assault cases from those accusing to the accused. Consent is now an
affirmative, unambiguous, and conscious decision by each participant to engage in mutually agreed
upon sexual activity. (New, Jake, 2014) The consent has to be ongoing throughout any sexual
encounter. On California campuses, consent is no longer a matter of not struggling or not saying
no. If the student initiating the sexual encounter doesn t receive an enthusiastic yes, either verbally
or physically, then there is no consent. If the student is incapacitated due to drugs or alcohol, there
is no consent. California is the first state to make such a definition of consent law, but other states
may soon follow suit. In New Hampshire and

Adding the New Kosovo Power Plant to the commercial loan levels of Kosovo s banking

country. First, it would concentrate risk in an economy that is small and is already struggling with
risk diversification. Second, it would exceed the standard set by independent bank examiners to
maintain an 80 percent loan to deposit ratio. Third, it would add to political tensions in the country
on a range of issues related to domestic and foreign banking. Fourth, it is likely to place credit
constraints on other sectors at a time when the private economy is vulnerable; according to the

Comparing Erich Fromm s Disobedience As A Psychological...
Erich Fromm wrote Disobedience as a Psychological and Moral Problem, in 1963, an essay
detailing balance between obedience and disobedience.
Fromm cited that authority figures insisted obedience as a virtue and disobedience as a vice. He
argued that disobedience began human history itself and necessary to continue it. Fromm first
discussed a Biblical example: the story of Adam and Eve. Humans were in harmony with nature, yet
still in their infancy. Prophets argued it is through man s sin can reason and love developed, and
men become human. Only through disobedience were they able to grow into individuals and
independence. Fromm drew onto the Greek myth of Prometheus as another source of evolution
through disobedience. Prometheus theft of fire from the gods laid down the foundations for
civilization. Both examples have mankind s history begin with disobedience. The capacity of
disobedience allows humans to evolve.
Fromm argues that if disobedience began history, then obedience will end it. While humankind s
capability is great, it outpaces rational and humanistic ideals. Destruction will come through
obeying amoral thoughts; commands from higher authority and archaic passions of fear, hate, and
greed (p. 684, 11th ed.). Fromm clarifies that obedience or disobedience is not a single value
system. The principles that guide in obedience or disobedience may be either good or bad. If an
individual is completely obedient, then they are a slave; if they are completely

Anaylsis of Forrest Gump Essay
Anaylsis of Forrest Gump There is a huge difference between very bad movies and very good
ones. That s because films can be on either side of the quality scale. A good movie has the ability
to burrow deep into the subconscious, with unpredictable and occasional remarkable results. A
great work of art can cause euphoria, touch a deep emotional chord, or, in rare cases effect
fundamental changes in a persons outlook on life. A movie that can do all of the above and more is

Robin Wright plays the adult part of Jenny Curran, Forrest s best friend and the love of his life.
Jenny is never far from Forrest s thoughts, no matter what he is doing or where he is. There are
many other secondary actors that help create the magical moments of the movie. There is
nothing better than a movie that reaffirms our morals and Forrest Gump does exactly this.
Forest Gump goes from a star football player, a war hero, a successful business man to
something of a pop icon. During his thirty year period we see him give back to the community.
He never forgets his friends and always helps them out in every way possible. He puts the safety
of others before his, like we see in the war scene, when he keeps coming back for the others even
when it meant putting his life in danger. It reminds us that we should sometimes put others
before ourselves. This movie also helps us to remember that we have to do things for the love of
doing them not only for the money, like in one of the scenes when Forrest has become a
millionaire but keeps cutting grass because he loves doing it. Forrest Gump has several messages
that help us refresh out outlook on life, some of which are less obvious than others. But the most
frequently recurring theme is an admonition not to give up on life. Forrest shows us how the
passage of time brings solace to even the most embittered hearts. His

Bribing Corrupt Bureaucrats Might Not Be a Terrible Idea...
This is an excellent way to show that as a human race we are constantly looking for a mode of
perfection but that mode is never there because we can never find it. What we can do is to get
as close as possible to the ideal situation. This ideal situation should mean that there is some form
of Pareto efficiency in the system and most people stand to benefit. If the value system allows for
the existence of some classes to gain more than others this will create inequality. In such a case the

The exposition of the IT is also a contributor towards this. The Gandhian morality of not
showcasing your wealth no longer holds true when a certain business man in Mumbai builds a

such successful entrepreneurs. The height of the positives of economic reforms took place when
India can acheievd a growth rate of 9% in 2007 . Today India is known as among the 10 largest
economies of the world.
But having stated all this, it needed to note that India still stands poorly in world social

are one of the most corrupt nations in the world and indexes do not rank us well. Socially our

The 2005 paper suggests that bribing bureaucrats might not be such a bad idea. This is because the

Reasons Why Quebec Should Secede
Wow! England is taking everything away from us, Quebec do you think we should secede?, I think

One reason why Quebec should secede is because England wants to take away Quebec s language

should secede is to prevent any wars from happening like the civil and revolutionary war. Wars can

the country. The last reason why Quebec should secede is because Quebec is outnumbered by the

Analysis of Daystar by Rita Dove Essay
While reading the poem Daystar, written by Rita Dove, its readers most likely do not ask thought
provoking questions like Why did Dove write this? or What is the true meaning behind this
poem? but the poem has deeper meaning than what its outside layer portrays. Dove, an African
American woman born in 1952, has not only viewed the racism of the United States society, but
she has also seen how gender can or cannot play a role in the advancement of a person s life (Rita
Dove: The PoetryFoundation). The poem Daystar not only takes an outside perspective on the
everyday life of a woman, but it closely relates to Dove s family history. Dove uses the

Daystar comes from a book of poems written by Dove entitled Thomas and Beulah, which tells
both the real and unreal stories of Dove s maternal grandparents (Stein 64). Unlike Dove, who
grew up during a time of women s rights, her grandmother most likely did not have an admired
career as a housewife. In discussing Thomas and Beulah, Stein explains, It is almost painful to
witness Thomas and Beulah, two people clearly devoted to each other, continually misinterpret
each other s behavior (70). Although Daystar is not necessarily written from an autobiographical
perspective, Dove is using the research of her family and her own experiences to welcome us
into the lives of the distressed Beulah. Beyond the already mentioned first line about how Beulah
wanted a little room for thinking (1), there are many other evidences in the poem that prove this
woman desires more than what she currently has. Even today, women are viewed as the main
caretakers of their children and the ones who are expected to respond to the domestic duties at
home, and this is what Beulah exemplifies. In the next lines of Daystar, obligations of
motherhood are further explained as Dove writes, but she saw diapers steaming on the line, /a doll
slumped behind the door (2 3). Both the diapers and the doll imply that it is Beulah s job to take
care of the laundry and clean up the mess that her children have left behind. Furthermore, the

It is a story with a long and intricate plot, of the heroic life of a simple and good man in the
person of Jean Valjean. He is a very memorable character who is morally upright but guilty of
certain thefts for which he feels remorse. To avoid capture and life sentence, he assumes the
identity of Monsieur Madeliene, soon becoming the mayor of the small town he has adopted.
It is a very beautiful story packed with excitement. It talks about man s struggle to escape the past
and reaffirm his humanity in a society wherein poverty and ignorance prevails. It shows the
inhumane treatment of the convicts and ex convicts. It also talks about the man s struggle for
existence in the case of the principal character, Jean Valjeanas he tried to forget the ... Show more

She too, experienced profound sorrows. She was maltreated at a young age and was abused by the
family her mother entrusted. However, she was relieved when Valjean rescued her and was even in
bliss when she found her true love Marius.
Anyways, another character that completes the essence of the story is Inspector Javert, the stalker .
He spent most of his life wandering everywhere just to capture Jean Valjean. He s so pathetic that
he became obsessed with it. Somehow, we can say that he won, because he found what he s
looking for. But, in the end, he still loses. He failed his life, because he can t accept the fact that
the person he hated so much saved him at the peak of his misfortune.
This story entails a lot of things that we must consider and reconsider. Such things like injustices
and discriminations, which I believe is still rampant nowadays. It also point out, that no matter
how chary and confidently we hide our past life, there comes a time, where it will all be revealed
in the eyes of many and when that moment comes, we must have the assurance that we are ready.
Also, we must bear in mind that no matter how bad a person is, there s always that goodness that lies

The Pros And Cons Of Animal Experimentation
Animal experimentation has been a controversial subject for decades. Millions of animals have
been killed in United States laboratories for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity driven
experiments, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing. Animal experimentation has proven
to be an imprecise way of research and practices in animal cruelty. There are alternatives to animal
testingthat have been proven more accurate, but because of tradition these alternatives are
overlooked by many. The three R s of animal testing, reduction, refinement, and replacement, should
be implemented. The testing of animals does not have enough beneficial results to deem it
necessary. Many drugs proven safe for animals have been proven harmful to humans in human
trials. In order to make experimentation more accurate, scientists should rely on human cells and
carefully conducted clinical trials with humans (as cited in Thomas, 2009, p. 95).
Stop Animal Experimentation
Animal experimentation has become a very controversial subject since the development of more
advanced technology. Estimates of the number of animals used each year for experiments in United
States laboratories range from seventeen to seventy million (as cited in Animal Friends Croatia ,
2009, p. 15). Animal experimentation, which is also known as animal testing, is experiments that
use non human animals that seek to control the variables that affect the behavior or biological
system under study. Although animal

Before The Flood
Before the Flood Film Analysis Fisher Stevens exposes the catastrophic effects of climate change
and the imperative need to take action to halt its rapid progression through the 2016 documentary
Before the Flood. In the film, the narrator, Leonardo DiCaprio, travels around the world to unveil
the devastating global impact of rising temperatures, interviewing experts, advocates, and notable
figures along the way. DiCaprio demonstrates the significance of climate change on a global scale
through the varying perspectives and individual impact in both developed and developing countries.
Included in these views are the culprits of the problem, such as leading oil corporations, that deny
the existence of climate change to protect the integrity... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this interview, Obama expresses great concern with the global issue and argues that the
science behind it is indisputable. Obama explains that even if the sentimental loss created by the
destruction of our earth isn t enough for people to acknowledge importance of this issue, they must
express concern with the national security implications and the survival of our current world order
threatened by climate change. Throughout the interview, Obama emphasizes our need to take
action now. Because the president of the United States is a highly respected and influential figure,
this scene establishes substantial credibility or ethos in the film. Not only is Barrack Obama highly
regarded because of his presidential position, but he has recently expressed concern in the issue of
climate change with his involvement in the Paris Agreement, a plan designed to mitigate
greenhouse gas emissions and deter global warming. The audience is likely to trust the opinion of
someone who proves he is well informed and involved in the issue. Barrack Obama s appearance
and support in the film serves Stevens purpose because it encourages the audience to more willingly
trust the information in the documentary and acknowledge the significance of climate change. It is
extremely difficult to disregard the issue of climate change when the president of the United States
is arguing that its existence is indisputable and demands that citizens take action

Sydney that were of primary school age were in his system, this followed with a similar basis for
the secondary system. Moran authorised the spending of more than 3 million dollars on
building churches, schools and institutions and by the 20th anniversary of his arrival he had
blessed eighty eight foundation stones for churches and schools in his diocese. One of Moran s
largest projects was the near completion of the St Mary s Cathedral. He had finished the
northern end, then built the central section and the cardinals tower and by 1900 he had finished
the cathedral debt free. I have chosen two bible passages that would strongly relate to Patrick
Francis Moran s life and his missionary work the first passage is Mark 16:15 He said to them, go

Families In Romeo And Juliet And All The Light We Cannot See
A family is the single most influential factor in the life of an individual. Being in a family brings
with it support, relationships, connections, and love that is rarely found anywhere else in a
person s life. However, families are not all the same. Each individual family structure is unique
when compared to the next. When looked at from a general perspective there are two main
groups of which families fall into. There are families whose relationships are derived from and
are strengthened by social obligation. These families are connected biologically, emotionally, or
through a specific event and are forced to grow based on the ethics of proper familystructure and
societal opinions. While these families are present in books such as Romeo and Juliet and All the
Light we Cannot See, there are also families whose relationships derive from contingency.
Contingency based families are strengthened by connections that are built over time and are

This type of family was present in the 1953 classic, Peter Pan. As part of the storyline the Lost
Boys of Neverland had established a family based on the contingency that they were orphaned.
They had no parents or loving relatives and the family that they create with the connections
formed between each other is a coping mechanism that only happens because of the events of
each boy s life prior to reaching Neverland. The concept of their family is solidified when they
act as brothers as Wendy arrives in Neverland. They shoot her with an arrow but afterwards,
Curly exclaims that Peter was bringing Wendy to them. A lady to take care of us at last, said one
of the twins, and you have killed her. The boys discipline themselves, take care of themselves, and
act as brothers. That is why Wendy arriving in Neverland brought them hope, because finally, the
brothers would have a mother as an addition to their

The Birthmark By Nathaniel Hawthorne
Rawan Jabr
Professor Stafford
English 102
November 9th 2014
Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Birthmark
The Birthmark is a short story authored by Nathaniel Hawthorne and published in 1848. The story
is about Aylmer, a brilliant scientist who is obsessed with science and is planning to use his
experiments to remove a birthmark on the face of his wife Georgiana. Aylmer s love for science
made him yearn to obtain control of the entire divinity. His wife was among his victims of science
that was stronger in him than the love he had for Georgiana. Aylmer became blind to science to
the extent that he could not realize that he was damaging his wife and putting his marriage at risk.
It examines the obsession with science and human perfection that often cause problems if not
controlled as seen in the story. Hawthorne s aim with this tale was to warn its readers regarding the
dangers of science and knowledge with the story, and this is analyzed below.
Ronald Davis, Barbara Eckstein, Liz Rosenberg, Jerry A. Herndon, and Jeffrey Howard, are among
the authors who have analyzed Nathaniel s work The Birthmark. In an article titled Science and
Technology in the Birthmark, Ronald agreed by the fact that The Birthmark is a story with several
warnings. He identifies the main catalysts in the story as unnatural obsession with technology and
science by Aylmer, who is the main character. Ronald stated that in Nathaniel Hawthornes, The
Birthmark , there is an unnatural obsession with science

Understanding Psychology And The Ways
Tracy Griffin
Adulthood and Aging | PSY307 A01

Module 5 Assignment 1
In regards to cognitive psychology and the ways in which we define ourselves in terms of
individuals, is one of the biggest areas of interest. The area defines the process used in order to
acquire, receive, retain and store the information in which is received. During childhood our
memory grows, and through adulthood throughout until our middle age, where shortly after we
begin to decline in productivity. Initially, when a person grows and changes, their brain begins to
change and their cognitive functions worsen. One example being the way in which we
appropriately word and express things, begins to decline in fluency and accuracy. (American
psychological association, 2006). Studies have shown that the semantic and procedural memory
declines the least, while that flashbulb memory declines the most. The amount of large
declination varies due to middle age sensitivity and the lack of self efficiency. The memory
initially declines based not on the lack of storage, but merely how they retain and store that
information which is being received. Naturally, this happens because the cortex shrinks, leaving a
serious lack of blood flow to the brain, and triggers that loss, which is naturally all apart of the
aging process. Some natural signs of normal age related memory loss can include the occasional
forgetfulness of where we placed something

Coraline Neil Gaiman Character Analysis
Coraline is a novel exploring the experiences of a young girl who struggles with being ignored
and feeling different. The themes of the novel, such as knowing your place in the world, are
communicated by Coraline s responses to conflict and development. Readers are positioned to
respond positively to Coralineby the use of characterisation, interior monologue and setting.
Knowing your place in the world is an extremely important issue for young children that Neil
Gaiman explores in depth throughout the book. At the beginning of the book, Coraline is ignored
and feels like a young child. Coraline believes her name is a main part of her identity and therefore
tries to make sure everyone remembers it,
No, said Coraline quietly, I asked you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gaiman is able to make the reader think about how important a child s place in the world is by
using interior monologue and setting. Interior monologue helps the reader understand how
Coraline feels and shows the reader how she has matured throughout the book. Coraline s
interior monologue becomes more mature and sophisticated the further along the story the
reader goes. This helps the reader realise that identity and self worth are important within a child
s life and can change the type of person they are. Setting helps the reader realise the innocence of
a child s mind and why self esteem is so important. The Other World can be argued as a fragment
of Coraline s imagination, something she created within her hours of boredom. This theory
highlights to the reader that a child s imagination is important but can also be deadly. When a
child has low self esteem, such as Coraline, their rejection can result in horrible day dreams and
detachment from the real world. Neil Gaiman has woven messages within messages and has been
able to highlight an extensive range of issues within one novel. In conclusion, by using interior
monologue and setting, Neil Gaiman is able to communicate messages, such as a child s place in
the world, to the

Pros And Cons Of Nuclear Radiation
Nuclear Radiation Good or Bad? Nuclear Radiation Nuclear radiation is the process by which an
unstable isotope loses energy. There are three types of radiation, alpha, beta and gamma. Alpha
is the weakest, gamma is the strongest (can pass through almost anything) Dangerous radiation
Alpha radiation can be highly dangerous when ingested whereas gamma radiation can inflict
damage externally with its ability to pass through almost any surface. Inhaling alpha radiation
can cause lung cancer. The most common way of inhaling alpha radiation is through tobacco
smoke. If water becomes contaminated by alpha radiation, if consumed, can cause kidney and
chromosol damage. Gamma radiation can cause radiation poising. Side effects of this could be
nausea, vomiting, bleeding, mouth sores, nausea, diarrhea and loss of hair. Xenon 133 Atomic
number 54 Xenon 133 emits ionizing particles to lose energy and become stable. It emits beta
radiation and a small amount of gamma radiation when it decays. After decaying is becomes the
stable isotope Cesium 133. It has a half life of 5.243 days. Xenon 133 is primarily used for
imaging the lungs and assessing pulmonary function. The gas doesn t occur in the body nor is
used by the body, the gas passes through the cell membranes in the human body and has a better
solubility in body fats than in blood or plasma. If you had a sample of Xenon 133 in your pocket
then you might experience coughing, difficulty with swallowing, dizziness, fast

  • 2. Personality Test Research Paper Personality test can offer a great deal of insight to someone. After taking the Myers Brigs test, I have confirmed much of what I have thought about myself. My score is ISTJ. This stands for introversion, sensing, thinking, and judging, which very accurately describes me. While it can be challenging for personality test to fully understand someone with just a few questions, this Myers Brigs test described me very well. I very strongly agree with the results I have received. The first letter of my score is I, which stands for introversion. I have always been more of an introvert than an extrovert. Alone time is something I have always had an appreciation for and felt was necessary for my happiness. The next letter in my type stands for sensing. This means I heavily rely on my five senses to take in information. The aspect of me can be seen in the way I learn. I feel I learn best when doing hands on activities, which is consistent with sensing people. The third letter in my type is T, which represents thinking. Like the other personally traits from this test, this one accurately describes me. Thinking people prefer solid logic, and facts. I have always... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There have been plenty of times in the recent past that I have acted out of type . One example of this is last weekend, when I went out with a big group, instead of only hanging out with only my close friends. This is not typical behavior for an introvert. Although this is not something I would typically find enjoyable, I had a surprisingly good time. Another occurrence of my acting out of type is over the weekend, when I should have been getting ahead on homework. Typically, the weekends are a great time for me to get ahead on work to ensure I meet all deadlines. Instead, last weekend I procrastinated and got very little done. This is not what would be expected from someone with the judging personality ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. EMail Privacy Rights In Business Essay E mail Privacy Rights In Business I.Abstract How far we have come in such a small time. When you think that the personal computer was invented in the early 1980 s and by the end of the millennium, several households have two PC s, it is an astonishing growth rate. And, when you consider business, I can look around the office and see that a lot of the cubicles contain more than one PC. It is astonishing to me that such an item has taken control over the information technology arena like personal computers. Consider, however, the items that go along with personal computers: printers; modems; telephone lines for your modem; scanners; the software; online access; and lets not forget, e mail addresses. E mail, or electronic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Among these dangers is privacy, in particular, what legal rights corporations and employees have in keeping their communications private. This paper will introduce the current legislation in this area, the expectation of privacy an employee should have, any court decisions that provide additional ruling, and what a corporation can do to prevent litigation in these matters. II.Employees Expectation of Privacy in e mail As an e mail systems manager, I was under the impression that since the company owns the electronic messaging system, the company could view the contents of any employees e mail account at any time. I was only partially right. The explanation of the current law will describe this in detail, but, the employee does have a certain right to privacy where e mail is concerned. Arguably, a company s most valuable asset is it s data. In the age of technological marvels, it is easier to create more valuable data and, on the other hand, that data is more easily retrievable, especially by persons not authorized to obtain the data. Employees of companies can expect a certain right of privacy granted by three main sources: (1) The United States Constitution; (2) Federal Statutes (The Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986); and (3) State Statutes (many of which have not addressed the issue). The United States Constitution provides a limited group of employees with privacy safeguards. The safeguards are based ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Lorraine Hansberry s A Raisin In The Sun The Importance of the Struggle in A Raisin in the Sun Why do some people persist despite insurmountable obstacles, while others give up quickly or never bother to try (Gunton 118)? A Raisin in the Sun, a play by Lorraine Hansberry, is a commentary on life and our struggle to comprehend and control it. The last scene in the play between Asagai and Beneatha contrasts two contemporary views on why we keep on trying to change the future, and reaches the conclusion that, far from being a means to an end, the real meaning of life is the struggle. Whether we succeed or not, our lives are purposeful only if we have tried to make the world a better place for ourselves and others only, in other words, if we follow our dreams. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was in this sort of mood that Beneatha formulated an idea about the sheer stupidity and cruelty of nature in general and people in specific: Don t you see there isn t any real progress, there is only one large circle that we march in, around and around, each of us with our own little picture in front of us our own little mirage that we think is the future (Hansberry. Raisin). Misery and stupidity are always present: man does not seem capable of eliminating them once and for all. Their existence conspires to thwart dreams, and Beneatha decided that she was tired of the struggle, tired of deluding herself with an unworkable vision, tired of having to fight against the unchangeable facts of life a view she might have kept, as many have, if it were not for Asagai s gentle reasoning. For Asagai, the struggle to achieve our own views of the future was the real essence of life. His was the generation of African dreamers who passionately advocated the independence of their continent from colonial rule, for whom revolution and upheaval were generally perceived as the only ways to improve the lot of their homelands. In his country, he lived daily with oppression, misery, and ignorance, met constantly with apathy and indifference or even outright hostility towards his life s aspirations, and yet his determination never faltered. Cohen June 15, 2015 Fundamentals of a Contract The Fundamentals of a Contract is when a legal agreement is constructed that bonds a party of two or more individuals, corporations, etc., into a binding agreement. In order for the to be considered legal in the court of law it must contain these elements; an offer, an acceptance, defined terms, capacity and legal consideration. A Contracts can largely be in written or verbal form, using either formal or informal terms, and conditions. However, verbal contract agreement are harder to prove in the court of law and the burden is usually solely on the injured party. In the legal system there are two types of contracts, a common law contract and a contract that is governed under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). The employment contract with the non compete clause between Fabulous Hotel and myself is considered to be under common law contractual agreement. As described in the textbook Business law for Managers it states that, If the contract deals with anything other than sales of goods (e.g., real estate, insurance, or personal services), then it is governed by the common law. When you hire an employee to join your staff, you enter into a contract that is governed by principles of common law. (Seaquist 2012). In many situations, we may let our emotions interfere with our interpretations of the facts. When a question of morals is involved, we often focus on what we want and not on what we ve got. One of the most complicated and emotional issues today is the subject of making contraceptives available to teenagers. Can it be that adult misconceptions are causing teenage conceptions? Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If children don t have sex, they don t need protection. If they do have sex, pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases shouldn t be a price they have to pay for the attitudes of adults who don t approve. Unfortunately, teenagers can and do have sex without parental approval. The truth becomes apparent when a teen becomes a parent. Parents try to be aware of what their children are doing; however, it is a misconception to think that sexual activity can be controlled at all times. Our society, not biology, declares that teens are not supposed to engage in sex. Teenagers are designed by nature to have sex, are possessed of all the necessary equipment to do so, and have the mental capabilities to hide such behavior from adults. The sex drive is not caused by teachers, contraceptives, or the media. Although well meant, the notion that parental warnings can make sex less appealing is arrogant and foolish. Teenagers are having sex without permission, and the goal must be to minimize the damage, not look for someone to blame. As adults struggle with controlling the actions of their children, they should protect them at the same time. If children are forbidden to have sex, it is unlikely that they will discuss sexual problems with the very person who told them it is not permissible. There must be options available to them, such as sex education ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Detecting movements of human is one of the key applications of wireless sensor networks. Existing technique is detecting movements of a target using face tracking in wireless sensornetwork work efficiently but here we implementing face action recognition system by using image processing and algorithms with sensors nodes. Using sensor node we can collect the information, data about human facial expressions and movements of human body and comparing old data captured by sensors to the new capturing data, if data is match then we can say that detecting human is same as early. Here we create new framework for face tracking and its movements capturing, achieve tracking ability with high accuracy using Wireless Sensor Networks. We use the Edge Detection Algorithms, Optimal Selection Algorithm, Image Processing Technique, Action Recognition, the big data analysis. Using java language, various types of sensors. • 15. Different Abilities That Set Humans Apart From Other Lives... One of the unique abilities that set humans apart from other life forms is the ability of speech production. Although it occurs involuntarily the act of speaking can be traced back to neural level even before the muscles are directed to move or before the first breathe is taken to supply the energy source for speech. Most people may not realize it but the fact is saying a word or even a sound is quite laboring on the body, especially when it must occur rapidly to even create a single sentence. Before a word or even a sound is produced the respiratory and phonatory systems must be activated and set into motion. Respiration which fuels the body is defined as the exchange of gas between an organism and its environment (Seikel, page 35), while Phonation is defined to be the product of vocal fold vibration which occurs within the larynx (Sekiel, page 165). In preparation to breathe, the diaphragm must move inferiorly giving the lungs room to expand. This intake of air must travel a great distance from either the nose or mouth, down through the larynx, and into the trachea, bronchi and, finally, lungs. While simply breathing, the air will travel through the vocal folds which remain in the abducted position. During speech production the vocal folds will adduct causing the air traveling through them to create a rippling effect as the folds vibrate. It is important to note this is merely the beginning stage at this point and that sounds produced at this point would resemble that off ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. Analysis Of Waiting For Godot Originally performed in 1953 in French, Samuel Beckett s Waiting for Godot took the stage at the Soulpepper Theatre in Toronto. The play tells the story of Vladimir and Estragon, two men who wait for Godot, someone or something they have not met to seen. The Soulpepper Production illustrates the journey that plays with Vladimir and Estragons mind and emotion, in regard to the interactions with their surroundings and themselves. The main focus of the production directs the audience s attention towards an enclosed setting that limit the actions originally sought in the play. The production however, focused more on Vladimir and Estragon s relationship, the play does not capture the same effect. Thus, the production is a mere interpretation from what the play offers in portraying the stage. From the play to the stage, Waiting for Godotillustrates how an enclosed setting represents Vladimir and Estragon s mind. The production revolved around how the set and setting illustrated how the characters interacted with one another and their surroundings. The structure of the stage appeared to look like an alley way with concrete styled wall and a tree placed in the center; the setting which occurred in a rectangular box. Therefore, Vladimir and Estragon performed in an enclosed space; thus, represented their mind. Originally, the play takes place in a country road and Estragon sits on a mound, but the production has the actor playing Estragon sitting on a concrete brick. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. Moulin Rouge Film Analysis I first came across the highly stylized film Moulin Rouge! when I was Fourteen years old. Immediately, I became obsessed. Yet, despite several months of fixation with the lavish musical, I have not watched the Baz Luhrmann directed film in almost seven years. A lot has changed in my life since my initial viewing. Yet, many things which first captivated me about the film still remain true. Therefore, a re viewing of the film in order to track my emotional engagement with the film seems applicable. While I still consider the film to be a masterpiece; some aspects of the film increased transportation while others discouraged it. By looking at specific devices Moulin Rouge! utilizes as well as my own individual interpretations, my engagement with the film can be explored. As a device that drives the film and helps create the most emotional impact, the music within the film is particularly of note. As Sheida Sheikhha and Behrooz Mahmoodi Bakhtiari point out, Moulin Rouge! is a jukebox musical to a significant degree. The Elephant Love Medley alone consists of 12 different songs, from popular artists such as The Beatles and David Bowie. One of the most impressive aspects of the film is how it adapts popular hits, cuts, and converses with them in order to create brand new, original meanings which fit the theme of the movie songs which say far more about the period in which the film was made than the period it depicts. The songs produced from the recycled material ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Both of these circuits work together in order to make the body function properly. The major difference between these two circuits is where the blood travels and what areas of the body the blood reaches. The pulmonary circuit carries bloodto only the lungs which focuses more on gas exchange. The systemic circuit carries blood to the tissues in the entire body which focuses more on supplying the tissues with oxygen and nutrients. Another interesting fact that separates these two circuits is the blood itself and the process that which it flows. At the beginning of the pulmonary circuit, the blood is deoxygenated. Comparing the Epic of Gilgamesh, Hesiod s Theogony, and Ovid s Metamorphoses There are many parallels between the Epic of Gilgamesh, Hesiod s Theogony, and Ovid s Metamorphoses. The first similarity is immediately apparent: structure. We can view the structure of the Gilgamesh story as three concentric circles: a story within a story within a story. In the outer circle, a narrator prepares the audience for the primary narrative, contained within the second circle: the tale of Gilgamesh s adventures. Within this second circle a third narrative, the flood story, is told to Gilgamesh by Utanapishtim. Ovid s Metamorphoses is told in a similar way: Ovid starts out by telling of his intention and invoking the gods help to tell the story. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Metamorphoses, Ovid tells the reader his intention to tell of bodies changed / to different forms and invokes the gods to help him with the poem. This method of framing the tale does another thing: it gives an oral quality to the work. These myths began as oral tales passed from one generation to the next, which were eventually written down. It is interesting that the way they are written down reflects the oral nature of the original versions a storyteller telling a story to an audience. It lends an immediacy to the work, leading us to look for its applicability to our own times. Because of this immediacy, there is an unintended irony that occurs in the reading of Gilgamesh. The narrator begins, Notice the strong walls of our city of Uruk! These walls were built by Gilgamesh . . . Now study the inner walls of our city. Examine the fine brickwork. These walls, too, surpass all others! (28). The irony is that these walls are probably deeply buried and cannot be seen, or if excavated, must be merely crumbled remnants of the once impermeable wall. Another similarity is in the structure of the mythological world. In all three mythologies, the gods reside in the sky, whether in the heavens or on a mountaintop. Below the sky rests the earth, and below that, the Underworld. Even the god structure is similar between the Sumerian mythology and the Greco Roman tradition. James Loggins Humanities 2210 Unit 2 Research Essay 24 October 2016 The Renaissance painter, sculptor, and poet Michelangelo is famous not only for his painting of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel or his sculpture of the Biblical King David, but he also created another Biblical figure, the Hebrew Prophet Moses. The sculpture was commissioned by Pope Julius II, in an attempt to mirror his larger than life reputation and personality. Michelangelo Moses along with other pieces of sculpture and artwork were to be enshrined in the Pope s planned resting place, with the Moses statue placed opposite of another figure of Saint Paul. However, it would never come to be, as the Moses sculpture would not be completed until more than 30 years after Pope Julius death in 1513. Pope Julius II had commissioned Michelangelo to paint the Sistine Chapel as well as build his entire tomb, but the chapel frescos occupied all of the painter s time (Michelangelo Gallery.com). However, once the Sistine Chapel frescos were finally completed Michelangelo immediately resumed his work on Moses, completing it in 1545. This sculpture marks a significant innovation, combining sculpturing and architecture for the first time in his career. Completed out of nothing but marble, the Moses became one of Michelangelo s crowning achievements along with the Sistine Chapel frescos and his sculpture of David. It was placed on the second tier of Pope Julius II s tomb which is housed in the church of San ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 21. Comparing Synoptic Gospels In Matthew, Mark, And Luke Synoptic Comparison Matthew, Mark, and Luke are the three books in the New Testament that have been titled the synoptic gospels. The three gospels differ in some dramatic ways, but have many similar stories and accounts of the life of Jesus. There have been disputes over the source and the relationship between the three gospels, but most scholars tend to agree that the gospel of Markwas written first, and the authors of Matthew and Luke used Mark as a source for their work. This Markan priority helps scholars to begin to examine the differences and similarities that appear across the synoptic gospels, and determine how and why many pericopes seem to vary and even contradict each other at times. In Mark, Jesus time in his hometown of Nazareth abruptly ends when he decides to leave town and go to teach in other villages. Luke, however, tells us that Jesus interactions with the Nazarenes are not yet over. Jesus begins to tell the people how in the time of Elijah and Elisha there was a famine in the land and many people were suffering because of it, Gentiles and Jews alike. Elijah and Elisha, however, were sent by God not to the Jews and people of Israel, but to outsiders in other places. This was a form of punishment for the people of Israel for the rejection of God. Jesus pointed out the passage because he wanted to warn the Nazarenes of what might happen if they continue to reject his teachings. Another possibility is that Luke added this section to promote his social agenda of righting the situations of people that have been wronged and, more importantly, giving up money and possessions to the poor, outcasts and women. Jesus talks about how God decided to send the prophets to the outcasts in other regions rather than the Israelites, who had already received much favor from God in the past. The Nazarenes were offended at Jesus mention of God s inclusion of Gentiles by sending aid for them and not for the Jews, showing universalism. God blessed the people that were righteous and worthy of his aid, and the Jews were not happy that Jesus brought up God s sending of his prophets to Gentiles as opposed to Jews in the Old Testament. This addition by Luke explains why the Nazarenes became so upset at what Jesus was telling them. Jesus used these examples as a way of previewing that his mission was to reach everyone, not just Jews. The addition of these examples shows how Luke wanted to highlight his theme of universalism and including everyone who is willing to follow. By: JASVEERA PARMAR ABSTRACT This paper is based on the two facets of motherhood, as postulated by the feminist theory. The first is the political facet, in which motherhood as an institution serves to enslave a woman. This opinion was entertained by the second wave feminists, who supported the view that institutionalisation of motherhood served the patriarchal design. The second is the personal facet, in which motherhood as an experience serves to empower a woman. This view is supported by the third wave feminists, who proposed maternal revivalism to encourage women to empower themselves through motherhood. This is why it is so important to prepare the soil (soul), before sowing the seed (of thought). Yet, amazingly, when people get no results from their prayers, they pray all the more! When desperate, even the devout ignore what Jesus taught about prayer: But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. [Mt. 6:7] Repetitious prayers, such as the repetition of affirmations, and chanting, or going through the steps of a ritual, may change one s conscious state, however, they are ill suited to changing one s consciousness. Planting seeds does not uproot weeds; and, affirming universal Truths never enlightened the mindof one who thinks the worst about himself or others. Effective prayer requires the expression of one s consciousness, not the contradiction of it. Making statements that do not express, but, instead, contradict one s consciousness is hypocrisy. Jesus recommended that, before we pray at the altar, we first make peace with our brother. He also recommended the practice of forgiveness, fasting, non judgment, repentance, and giving freely. Praying prior to preparing our soul is like sowing seeds before cultivating the soil; both are ineffective. Three hormones are produced: triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxine (T4), and calcitonin. T3 and T4 increase the basal metabolic rate in the body. These hormones also affect brain development, body temperature, breathing, cholesterol levels, heart and nervous system functions, menstrual cycles, muscle strength, skin dryness, and weight (National Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases Information Service, 2013). • 35. Comparing Erich Fromm s Disobedience As A Psychological... Erich Fromm wrote Disobedience as a Psychological and Moral Problem, in 1963, an essay detailing balance between obedience and disobedience. Fromm cited that authority figures insisted obedience as a virtue and disobedience as a vice. He argued that disobedience began human history itself and necessary to continue it. Fromm first discussed a Biblical example: the story of Adam and Eve. Humans were in harmony with nature, yet still in their infancy. Prophets argued it is through man s sin can reason and love developed, and men become human. Only through disobedience were they able to grow into individuals and independence. Fromm drew onto the Greek myth of Prometheus as another source of evolution through disobedience. Prometheus theft of fire from the gods laid down the foundations for civilization. Both examples have mankind s history begin with disobedience. The capacity of disobedience allows humans to evolve. Fromm argues that if disobedience began history, then obedience will end it. While humankind s capability is great, it outpaces rational and humanistic ideals. Destruction will come through obeying amoral thoughts; commands from higher authority and archaic passions of fear, hate, and greed (p. 684, 11th ed.). • 36. Anaylsis of Forrest Gump Essay Anaylsis of Forrest Gump There is a huge difference between very bad movies and very good ones. That s because films can be on either side of the quality scale. A good movie has the ability to burrow deep into the subconscious, with unpredictable and occasional remarkable results. A great work of art can cause euphoria, touch a deep emotional chord, or, in rare cases effect fundamental changes in a persons outlook on life. A movie that can do all of the above and more is Forrest Gump. Forrest Gump is a movie with a great cast, a good moral lesson and a refreshing outlook on life. Robin Wright plays the adult part of Jenny Curran, Forrest s best friend and the love of his life. Jenny is never far from Forrest s thoughts, no matter what he is doing or where he is. There are many other secondary actors that help create the magical moments of the movie. There is nothing better than a movie that reaffirms our morals and Forrest Gump does exactly this. Forest Gump goes from a star football player, a war hero, a successful business man to something of a pop icon. During his thirty year period we see him give back to the community. He never forgets his friends and always helps them out in every way possible. He puts the safety of others before his, like we see in the war scene, when he keeps coming back for the others even when it meant putting his life in danger. It reminds us that we should sometimes put others before ourselves. This movie also helps us to remember that we have to do things for the love of doing them not only for the money, like in one of the scenes when Forrest has become a millionaire but keeps cutting grass because he loves doing it. Forrest Gump has several messages that help us refresh out outlook on life, some of which are less obvious than others. But the most frequently recurring theme is an admonition not to give up on life. Forrest shows us how the passage of time brings solace to even the most embittered hearts. His ... This is an excellent way to show that as a human race we are constantly looking for a mode of perfection but that mode is never there because we can never find it. What we can do is to get as close as possible to the ideal situation. This ideal situation should mean that there is some form of Pareto efficiency in the system and most people stand to benefit. If the value system allows for the existence of some classes to gain more than others this will create inequality. In such a case the government will always try to change policies to make the shift. The height of the positives of economic reforms took place when India can acheievd a growth rate of 9% in 2007 . Today India is known as among the 10 largest economies of the world. But having stated all this, it needed to note that India still stands poorly in world social parameters. We still are amongst the pooter nations of the world. Poverty ranks are still high. We are one of the most corrupt nations in the world and indexes do not rank us well. Socially our parameter are not high. This will sooner or later reflect upon our economics as well. This will be demonstrated in the rest of the essay. Corruption is considered bad and after the several scams that have hit India over the apst 4 5 years we have clearly not changed things. But there are studies that suggest otherwise. The 2005 paper suggests that bribing bureaucrats might not be such a bad idea. This is because the corrupt bureaucrats can force the government into talking helpful measures. The need for these measures might be a result of the demands from the bribers who expects some changes from the corrupt bureaucrats. The economy could benefit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One reason why Quebec should secede is because England wants to take away Quebec s language and culture. This makes people who speak French have to learn a different language and culture like english and protestant. This is especially hard on children. The second reason why Quebec should secede is to prevent any wars from happening like the civil and revolutionary war. • 40. Analysis of Daystar by Rita Dove Essay While reading the poem Daystar, written by Rita Dove, its readers most likely do not ask thought provoking questions like Why did Dove write this? or What is the true meaning behind this poem? but the poem has deeper meaning than what its outside layer portrays. Dove, an African American woman born in 1952, has not only viewed the racism of the United States society, but she has also seen how gender can or cannot play a role in the advancement of a person s life (Rita Dove: The PoetryFoundation). The poem Daystar not only takes an outside perspective on the everyday life of a woman, but it closely relates to Dove s family history. Dove uses the experiences of her life as a woman, and the knowledge gained from living in countries... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Daystar comes from a book of poems written by Dove entitled Thomas and Beulah, which tells both the real and unreal stories of Dove s maternal grandparents (Stein 64). Unlike Dove, who grew up during a time of women s rights, her grandmother most likely did not have an admired career as a housewife. In discussing Thomas and Beulah, Stein explains, It is almost painful to witness Thomas and Beulah, two people clearly devoted to each other, continually misinterpret each other s behavior (70). Although Daystar is not necessarily written from an autobiographical perspective, Dove is using the research of her family and her own experiences to welcome us into the lives of the distressed Beulah. Beyond the already mentioned first line about how Beulah wanted a little room for thinking (1), there are many other evidences in the poem that prove this woman desires more than what she currently has. Even today, women are viewed as the main caretakers of their children and the ones who are expected to respond to the domestic duties at home, and this is what Beulah exemplifies. In the next lines of Daystar, obligations of motherhood are further explained as Dove writes, but she saw diapers steaming on the line, /a doll slumped behind the door (2 3). Both the diapers and the doll imply that it is Beulah s job to take care of the laundry and clean up the mess that her children have left behind. Furthermore, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Millions of animals have been killed in United States laboratories for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity driven experiments, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing. Animal experimentation has proven to be an imprecise way of research and practices in animal cruelty. There are alternatives to animal testingthat have been proven more accurate, but because of tradition these alternatives are overlooked by many. The three R s of animal testing, reduction, refinement, and replacement, should be implemented. The testing of animals does not have enough beneficial results to deem it necessary. Many drugs proven safe for animals have been proven harmful to humans in human trials. In order to make experimentation more accurate, scientists should rely on human cells and carefully conducted clinical trials with humans (as cited in Thomas, 2009, p. 95). These families are connected biologically, emotionally, or through a specific event and are forced to grow based on the ethics of proper familystructure and societal opinions. Understanding Psychology And The Ways Tracy Griffin Adulthood and Aging | PSY307 A01 05/24/2016 Faculty: Arthur Swisher Due date: 05/23/2016 Module 5 Assignment 1 In regards to cognitive psychology and the ways in which we define ourselves in terms of individuals, is one of the biggest areas of interest. The area defines the process used in order to acquire, receive, retain and store the information in which is received. During childhood our memory grows, and through adulthood throughout until our middle age, where shortly after we begin to decline in productivity. Initially, when a person grows and changes, their brain begins to change and their cognitive functions worsen. One example being the way in which we appropriately word and express things, begins to decline in fluency and accuracy. (American psychological association, 2006). Studies have shown that the semantic and procedural memory declines the least, while that flashbulb memory declines the most. The amount of large declination varies due to middle age sensitivity and the lack of self efficiency. The memory initially declines based not on the lack of storage, but merely how they retain and store that information which is being received. Naturally, this happens because the cortex shrinks, leaving a serious lack of blood flow to the brain, and triggers that loss, which is naturally all apart of the aging process. Some natural signs of normal age related memory loss can include the occasional forgetfulness of where we placed something ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
