This document summarizes research on existing products and analyzes them to inform the development of a new work. It describes three existing products: 1) A murder mystery game where bullet holes and crime scene lighting provide clues. 2) A game where fire lighting and a sign create intrigue about the research underway. 3) A foggy background with collectibles and dangers the player must overcome room by room. The research analysis finds the products all include an underlying story and sense of mystery about what will happen. Aspects that will be included are: allowing the player to understand a past mistake after being murdered (Product 1), using a gauntlet to move through time (Product 2), and beating rooms to progress (Product 3).
