The document proposes a watch advertisement project targeting wealthy men aged 30-45. Research will include analyzing competitor ads, magazines, and posters to inform the watch ad, poster, and magazine. Camera techniques from previous projects will be applied. Progress will be tracked over 10 weeks, beginning with research and planning followed by production. Work will be evaluated by comparing it to professional examples and gauging audience response.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

In Odoo, the multi-company feature allows you to manage multiple companies within a single Odoo database instance. Each company can have its own configurations while still sharing common resources such as products, customers, and suppliers.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Working Title:
Time Maker
Audience:
My target audience will be for the higher-class men, as I am advertising a very expensive manly
watch so this will be pointless for middle class as they won’t be able to afford it as well as making it
gender neutral product as it is a man’s watch. Furthermore, an age range that I am having for my
target audience will be for 30-45-year-old men as at this age they will have enough money for the
watch as the younger you are the less money you have for example an 18-year-old will be unable
to get the watch as it will be too expensive most likely for them to buy. I am trying to target the
higher class who like to go travelling to places this way they will be able to show off their watch
and it will be worldwide, also it will make the watch more desirable to the audience. My product will
appeal to my target audience as I will be adding images and more into the products that interest
my target audience such as cars, designer clothes and more. Furthermore, I believe that my
product will appeal to my target audience by their age as my audience’s age is 30-45-years-old
men, at this age they will be wanting to have something flashy but simple at the same time, so I
will be showing it to be a simple yet appealing watch to have I will somehow show the watch to be
unique compared to others.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
I have learnt in Photoshop about gradients and how simple it is yet it is very effective as it changes
the atmosphere of the product. For example, I am able to have the background fade out with any
colour I am wanting to use this is effective as it makes the product look more professional. Another
useful skill I have acquired is that I have learnt how to use the blending options to my advantage
as I can now add different effective skills to my work. For example, I could use satin effect to make
the image that I have selected look darker or even add in a fade just simple things like this make
the product more appealing for the target audience. This year with the projects that we have done I
was able to get creative with various camera angles and techniques that I could use to change the
angel and the effect of the images/ videos. So, I decided to do something where I could show of
my skills with different camera angles and then I wanted it to be something to do with
advertisement as I am wanting to go into this after college. Due to the fact of my knowing what I
am doing because of the music video at the start of year I am able to get a better product outcome
at the end of the FMP, this will have impacted my final piece massively as I know what angles are
god for different shots and I now know how to edit them and make them look creative.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
For my FMP, I am basing it off a watch the products I am going to make is a: watch advert, poster
and a magazine for the watch. Before I create these products, I will need to research the product
before I can make them, the things I will need to research is pre-existing example of other
producers work such as see how they have created the watch adverts. The effect of this is that I
can compare it to my work and see what improvements I can make to it to improve it after I have
done this I will be able to see what other camera angles the producer has used and see about
using it in my work this will make the audience more interested in my work as it will look a lot more
professional. For the research for my magazine and poster I am able to do these two at the same
time as they are both practically the same thing, for this I will be researching the layout, colour
scheme, fonts and props used. The effect of this is that I can compare my work to others and see
how I can improve mine and see what colours they have used and why. The colour scheme is one
of the most important things I need to research a is need to see why the producers have sued
them colours for example if there’s a dark colour scheme of black, grey and white. After I have
done the research making it will be a lot easier and I will be able to come out with better results s I
will know what I am creating and how to create as most of the things that have been made for
watch magazine/ posters are fairly simple yet effective. As before I did this project I had a quick
look at existing products, as I could tell a lot of them where adding in fades and gradient overlays.
The reason to why they have done this is to show the audience only the watch as they are wanting
to try and sell this and they are not wanting to show the audience that is unnecessary. Finally this
makes the product look smart and professional and this will make the target audience trust the
product as it is very expensive hey will want to have some reassurance.

Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I will be planning on evaluating it by comparing it to other existing work done by professionals, this
will give me a good indication to weather it has the same effect upon the target audience as I am
wanting to draw them into the products.
how do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your final
self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.
