This document describes the design of an integrated 2 in 1 laser engraving and CNC cutting machine. It combines a laser engraver, vertical drill machine, and laser cutter into a single machine using minimal components at low cost. The machine uses a 5.5-watt CO2 laser for engraving and cutting a variety of materials like paper, cardboard, and metal. It is controlled using open-source laser engraving software called Laser GRBL to generate G-code paths for the laser. Testing showed the machine can accurately engrave and cut designs into materials with around 60-70% accuracy. The integration of multiple machining processes into a single low-cost machine makes it useful for small businesses and hobbyists.
