Is It Better For Fix Or Float Interest Rates On The...
Is it better to fix or float interest rates in the current economic environment? This is the question now
facing Marcus Garvey who is planning to buy his first home in October of this year. Making the right
decision on whether to fix or float interest rates on a mortgage and for what period could be the
difference of thousands paid to the bank in additional interest. To assist Marcus in this decision, this
essay has looked at many variables. Firstly, and most importantly, what interest rates are expected to
do in the short term future? Secondly, what are the advantages and disadvantages of both fixed and
floating loans and how these will affect Marcus based on the information we know about him. We also
look at the unknowns of Marcus s situation that may lead to an alteration in recommendation. Thirdly
we will look at how long of a fixed period would be recommended to have the most economic benefit
for Marcus if he decides to go with this option. Based on the information given on Marcus, and what
we have learnt about the current environment, it is decided to recommend that Marcus either fix his
whole mortgage, or fix the majority while leaving a small portion floating. There are many variables
that must be considered when deciding to fix or float and not knowing Marcus situation in relation to
these variables, this would be the safest option.
Sorted.org.nz defines a fixed rate as a loan where the interest rate is set at the date you take out your
loan and remains the same

Health Disparities
February 15, 2015
Often the term disparities is related to a specific racial or ethnic group of people, many variations of
disparities exist in America, mainly in regards to health. If any outcome from health disparities can be
ascertained is populations and regions in America.
Healthy People 2020 creates a compilation of reports in an effort to pinpoint area of disparities among
populations, demographics and geographical location. In 2008 more than 33% or more than one
million people identified themselves as ethnic or minority (Healthy People 2000) In 2008 51% of
those people were women (Healthy People 2020).
Major disparities continue to exist in spite of America s Affordable Care Act , Although minorities
suffer disease five times greater than the rest of the nation, minorities represent the majority of the
disparity. Infant Mortality has always been America s indicator as to the state of the countries health
status. America is one of the wealthiest and most powerful nations in the world, However, America
ranks number 24th in the world for infant mortality. Puerto Rican and Indian women rank highest
among ethnic classes with low infant mortality rates. Some researchers have found lack of prenatal
access as the key contributing factor to low mortality and birth weights among these two ethnic
classes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

MEMORANDUM OF LAW IN SUPPORT OF DEFENDANT S MOTION TO DISMISS

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Exit Interview
INTRODUCTION
You just gave your notice to leave your job. In your final weeks you ll tie up all your loose ends at
work, help train your replacement, wind up your desk and say your good byes. There is also the
possibility that you ll be asked to attend thatone final meeting before you leave, which is the exit
interview.
Before leaving, in most companies, the Human Resources department will ask the person leaving to
meet with them to discuss the reasons for your quitting the job, among other things. Departing
employees may find this as an opportunity to be completely honest with their employers giving
feedback, which may be in the form of criticism, criticising or praising colleagues, airing grievances,
or applauding the company for its good practices. Others, however, might be less truthful in their
feedback. And it turns out there are advantages and disadvantages to both these approaches.
WHAT ARE EXIT INTERVIEWS? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most commonly, this interview occurs between an employee and a company. Acompany can use the
information gained from such exit interviews to understand what should be improved in the
organisation, changed, or should be kept intact. More so, acompany can use the findings from the exit
interviews to reduce employee, student, or member attrition rate and increase theproductivity and
engagement, thus helping in reducing the costs associated with employee turnover. Few notable
advantages of conducting exit interviews include shortening the recruiting and selection process,
reduction in employee absenteeism, retaining performersand reducing or avoiding possible litigation if
issues mentioned in the exit interview are addressed. It is important for each company to customize its
own exit interview in order to maintain the highest levels of validity and

Leadership In The Black Community
Has the black community ever had a black leader or leaders? In 2015 I feel the black community
needs leaders to guide us to a higher place in society in the 2nd millennium. But first the black
community need to understand what a true leader is and how to embrace a true leader. Also The Black
community has to understand what previous leaders have done for us in the past to continue to push
the envelope further for us to have opportunities we have now. 2015 is the year we try to get a council
of new leaders to help the black community in areas we are lacking due the fact we are not being well
represented in politics and economics. Over time I feel the word leader has been down played in our

The civil right movement had a lot of influential and brilliant leaders from this time like Martin Luther
King, Malcolm X, Rosa Park, Muhammad Ali, Web Dubois, and The Black Panther Party. The main
game changer were Martin Luther King, Malcolm X and The Black Panther Party. Martin Luther king
(MLK) was a minister, humanitarian, and activist is considered to be the leader of the civil movement.
MLK has also had a lot accomplishments, he won a Nobel peace prize at the age of 35 in 1964. He
was also given fifty honorary degrees from various colleges. Malcolm X was an American Muslin
minister and a human right activist, who was more with the ideal of violence. While he was in prison
he read a series of books which could he learned him a vary of degrees from the top school in
America. MLK had a way of getting black people involved his in risky and threating marches with no
violence. Cops would do brutal act to stop these powerful marches like spray our people with water
hoses, drenching their cloths and belittling them. MLK leadership was proven when he led one of his
most powerful marches in Montgomery, Alabama in 1955 when he fought for Rosa Parks right; Rosa
Parks was asked by a white man to get up in go to the back of the bus and she just refuse to do that so
she stay seated still the police came and arrested her. MLK did everything in power to get her out
which ended up getting him spray by hoses and arrested proven his leadership to the community.
Malcolm X was strong leader he prove this once he became leader of the Nation of Islam. In the 1960
he would defense blacks as a whole when he had debate with whites about politics in the black
community, he would answer there question with witty answers which many considered arrogant. He

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
I work as a respiratory therapist and treat patients diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary
disease (COPD). Smoking is a leading cause associated with developing COPD. As a professional
working in the healthcare field, I have been fortunate and educated about the dangers and
consequences linked to cigarette smoking. I have treated and have experience with individuals who
have smoked and developed COPD. Also, as an educator, I have tried to help individuals quit smoking
to improve overall health. As an educator, I view smoking as an addiction to the drug nicotine and
managing cravings will help individuals quit smoking.
From a social context, I have been fortunate to have non smoking family members my entire life.
Additionally, I have not been heavily exposed to second hand smoke due to the bans and bylaws put in
place in my province (Ontario). However, many older generation smokers did not learn about the
dangers of smoking until much later. By then, these individuals were already addicted to smoking,
making quitting all the more difficult. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

social activity for individuals. Besides, smoking can be a coping mechanism as a result of other issues.

community has been linked to medicinal and spirituality for many years. However, without proper

Speech On Child Labor
So..What is child labor? Child labor is children basically being slaves for other people. Children who
are involved in child labor are sold by their parents to other companies. Adults would not be
considered people who are in child labor because they are grown adults. They work in fields and
factories but mostly factories. Sometimes they work in gold mines but with no safety equipment
whatsoever. These children work all day and not like you think which is maybe 3 hours. They spend
countless hours which I doubt you would even guess working in those fields, Factories and gold
mines. This segment will teach you all about child labor and what effects it has on these children. In
this essay you will learn about Child Labor and how it affects different children

But that is what set Activists wondering about child labor and what they can do to prevent it from
happening again. This became now a worldwide issue and eventually Craig Kielburger heard about the
problem and he figured out how he could solve it. He eventually started a organization that helped
kids in child labor. He eventually got a success and was able to help other kids in child labor. All of
this just started because of the shooting.
Right now Child Labor is a International problem and it is trying to be stopped in many countries. We
do not child labor because it is a very sad thing to deal with and we do have sympathy for what those
children are going through and how much they have to work. They are not just doing chores, they are
doing labor.
Now let us get into more about the mines that the children do work in. The mines that the children in
child labor work in are very poisonous. They are unlicensed but they still force the children who do
not wear the proper safety equipment to work in the mines and to mine the gold. The reason of the
poison in the mines is because of Mercury which is a very deadly

Disengafication Theory Of Aging
As we age, we become more and more sedentary, this appears to be a normal part of the aging
lifecycle. We tend to shift from physical activities to more leisure activities like reading, relaxing and
thinking, and watching TV, according to one time use study up to 58% of people aged 55 and over
spend the majority of their time watching TV each day (Novak 326). One may feel they have earned
the right to lounge around and become less active as they age or enter retirement, as they have paid
their dues to the working community. This sedentary life style leads to obesity, in 2008, 26.6% of
people aged 60 years and older were considered obese and their decrease in physical activity makes
the body slowly decline due to neglect, putting the elderly at risk for heart disease, osteoporosis,
depression, and disability (Novak 330). Disengagement, continuity, and age stratification theories
provide some insight as to why we become more sedentary as we age: disengagement theory is known
as elders withdrawing socially as part of the natural aging process, continuity is based on ones level of
activity in their middle aged years and is carried into their later years, and age stratification theory is
when society expects the elders to behave in particular way, and don t offer as many social roles for
the elderly (Novak 331). As I read the article Who s Gaming Now? Seniors Turn To Wii Bowling by
Joshua Brockman, I felt happy and encouraged by the women s Wii bowling league and their

Justice In The Count Of Monte Cristo
Journeying through the world that Alexandre Dumas creates in The Count of Monte Cristo, many
argue that the motive for Dantes s actions is revenge; however, a major change in his character takes
place that portrays his motive to be that of justice. The main character, Edmond Dantes, starts off
earning a successful living, but due to the jealousy of his acquaintances and the corruption of the
justice system, he is falsely convicted of treason, punishable by a life sentence. He suffers from his
innocence and eventually escapes prison after fourteen years with a hunger for revenge towards those
who wronged him. This hunger later transforms into a desire to serve justice that the society s system
failed in doing. In this change, Dantes remains ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is in this stage that Dantes is a capable sailor, devoted son, faithful lover, totally honest with his
relations with the world, he is not without a certain lack of foresight and a too easy unawareness of the
evil lurking in the hearts of his associates (Marinetti 262). This ignorance is what makes him more
susceptible to attacks by those around him because he only sees the good in people and is
consequently unaware of their evil side. In this way, it would seem that Dantes was responsible for his
initial downfall in that if he were more aware of the existence of both good and bad in the world, he
would have been less vulnerable to the plots of his so called friends. At one point later in the story,
Dantes proclaims, I am not proud, but I am happy; and happiness blinds, I think, more than pride
(Dumas 31). Dantes recognizes that his happiness and innocence is what blinded him and made him
vulnerable. In the beginning of the story, Dantes is earning his success and having his whole life
planned out with his fiance Mercedes. Dantes initial happiness coincides with his innocence, as it
blinded him from the evil plots of his colleagues. It is thus concluded that the justice system must be
flawed from the fact that Dantes is suffering even though he is innocent; this corruption acts as a
catalyst for Dantes s

How Did Portuguese Affect The Development Of East African...

both positive and negative ways. It caused the economy to grow because during this period the Indian

because many port cities grew to rely on it. On the other hand, the trading impacted negatively
because the wealth that was acquired by the East Africans gained attention from immigrants all over,

The Portuguese first traded with East Africa and once they were drawn in by the fortune they saw, the
conquered the coast. Portuguese invaded, defeated local rulers, and took control of Zanzibar, they
invaded and conquered Kilwa and Mombasa, and they built Fort Jesus in Mombasa to guard th port of
Mombasa. In addition to that, the brought Christianity and brutal rules. In conclusion, the Portuguese
affected the growth and development of East Africa in a negative way.
4. The Portuguese imperialism was more forceful and uninvited compared to the Omani imperialism,
which was more invited and wanted. Since the Swahili people didn t like the Portuguese so they
wanted the the Omans to come and defeat the Portuguese since they were loyal trading partners, a
integral part of the Swahili society, and they had the same religion. The Omans finally conquered East
Africa by capturing fort Jesus.
5. In my opinion, cultural contact has to be dealt with in a better manner to promote optimal growth.
Once a group of people see what another group of people have to offer, instead of invading and
conquering their land, procedures should be taken in order so that they can be taught how to acquire
the things they seek. With this put in place, more people will have the things they may have seen in
other countries, bridges would be built instead of destroyed in case they need further aid in the future,

Martin Luther King Jr Essay
Why was Martin Luther King Jr. such an inspiration to African Americans in America? Martin Luther
King Jr. was an American minister, Civil Rights leader, and activist who had a strong belief in
nonviolent protests (history.com; Martin Luther King Jr.). He was the leader behind the Montgomery
Bus Boycott and the March on Washington which were eventually effective and a law was passed to
end racial discrimination (history.com; Martin Luther King Jr.). On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks
was arrested for refusing to give up her seat to a white passenger on the bus. This caused activists to
organize a bus boycott that would last 381 days, and they chose Martin Luther King to be their leader.

Individual Experience And Reflexivity By Renato Rosaldo s...
Individual experience and reflexivity ought to be utilized inside humanities as an instrument to ponder
the society that is consistently mulled over and not a refocusing of consideration on the self. Works,
for example, Dorinne Kondo s Disintegration and Reconstitution of Self, utilize the thought of
reflexivity as a mirror in which to view the society being considered in an alternate way. This
utilization of reflexivity considers the center to stay on the society being concentrated on. A move far
from this is the new limb of humanistic human studies spoke to in this article by Renato Rosaldo s
Sadness and a Headhunter s Rage and Ruth Behar s Humanities that Breaks Your Heart permits
anthropologists to utilize reflexivity as an approach to investigate widespread human emotions. For
me, this is not the investigation of human sciences as much as reflexive toward oneself brain science.
The center movements from society to self. The anthropologists totally comprehends the emotions of
the individuals he/she is contemplating. I believe that it is fairly goal oriented to express that feeling is

an essential part of ethnographic written work, however the anthropologist must be mindful so as not
to move center from focusing on society to focusing on herself.

how well they are able to memorize the content. Instead of communicating with each other, the

Taking a Look at Photographic Film
Photographic film A film can be defined as a material which is chemically reactive and when exposed
to a light source records a fixed or still image. In other words it helps in capturing the image of a the
photographed object, formed from the light reflecting back from its surface. Technically it is a
photographic material consisting of a celluloid base that is covered with a photographic emulsion that
is later used to make the negatives or the transparencies that maybe contained inside a roll, or maybe a
cassette or a cartridge. A film, when developed will produce transparent negatives. A negative film is a
photographic image that is formed on a narrow transparent strip of sheet whose surface is generally
made up of plastic or glass. It is a type of photographic image that shows the bright areas of the
subject photographed as dark and the dark areas of the subject as light. A negative film can be found in
all formats, and can be black and white or colour. A negative can produce a positive image when light
is made to pass through it. A positive image is actually a normal image while a negative image is a
total inversion were the light areas of the picture becomes dark and the dark as light. Hence a positive
is the final image. A positive can also be made directly from a film, like transparencies ( were a film is
processed to give a positive image directly rather than to give a negative ) what is it made up of film is
actually a light sensitive emulsion on top of a

How Technology Has Broadened The Spectrum Of Applications
4. EMERGING DEVICES
The continuous scaling of CMOS technology has broadened the spectrum of applications. Complex
architectures can be now realized on a single chip. The integration of existing and new technologies
with CMOS extends the scope of implementation.
Figure 3 : Relationship among More Moore, More than Moore, and Beyond CMOS
4.1 More than Moore
The functional diversification of the semiconductor based devices by non digital components is More
than Moore implementation. These non digital functionalities may not scale at the same rate as the
digital components. The non digital components are capable of interacting with outside world through
sensors and actuators. This integration of functions like analog and mixed signal processing, addition
of passive, power components and bio chips increases the range of applications such as
communications, automotive, biomedical and security. As integration grows so does the challenges, it
demands the need for multidisciplinary research programs to run in pace with growing scientific
fields.
4.2 More Moore
The expansion of the CMOS by conventional dimensional scaling to reduce the cost per function and
improved performance is More Moore. This also comes with resource scarcity such as power
availability and reduced flexibility in interconnects. Power dissipation becomes a critical problem in
such devices due to large logic circuits. Since the battery capacity has not improved much but the
amount of logic in SoC almost doubles

The Nicene Creed was produced at the Council of Nicaea as an anti Arian Creed (Lane 29). The
Council of Nicaea held that Jesus comes from God, Jesus was at the same level of authority as God,
Jesus is, Son of God, not a creature ( Lane 29), Jesus is, of one substance with the Father [homoousio]
( Lane 29).
The Council of Constantinople was called in 381 by Theodosius in reaction against three heresies. .
The Council of Constantinople argued against Arianism
Chalcedon by asserting equality and individuality of the trinity (Lane 40). The Council argued against
Macedonianism by asserting the equality of the Holy Spirit in the trinity (Lane 40). Finally the
Council argued against Apollinarianism by asserting Jesus s humanity (Lane 40)
Marcian the emperor called The Council of Chalcedon in 451 ( Lane 60) in reaction against four
heresies. The Council s Definition fought against Arius by proclaiming Jesus s full deity, it fought
against Apollinaris by proclaiming Jesus s full humanity ( Lane 61), it fought against Nestorius by
arguing that deity and humanity are equal in Jesus, and finally they argued against Eutyches by
arguing that deity and humanity should not be confused. According to Lane, Its teaching can be
summarized in the phrase one person in two natures (Lane 61).
Outcome
The Council of Nicaea determined, ...the full deity, but less

Criticism Of Literary Criticism
I m writing this letter to show criticism analysis in text so as to employ the principles of rhetoric
which brings about the involvement of the author, content and the audience. The requirement for
rhetorical analysis will involve the plans that the author used to achieve the goal or purpose in writing.
Analysis involves the studying of something difficult in order to know its nature or the features in it.
The study helps in providing some essential information for problem solving and making the right
decisions. The requirement in rhetorical analysis is that one needs to do critical reading so as to break
down text from the main piece for analyzing(Barker, 2017).
The writing process was by inspired by the Rowling s thoughts of the intuitive approach in the plot
development and the ability to tell the narrative. Rowling s plans for the learning magic serves as a
major role in the society of the wizard world. The text credibility was based on strict rules that
governed the logics in the plot. The compelling cast of the characters was life in her thoughts since she
never failed in her imagination of the story she was meant to write. The text may not be showing
everything but there is some confidence that the author really knows everything. The need to target
specific audience is necessary for marketing purposes. A strategy for targeting audience is by
identifying the lucrative audience and finding ways to access and influence it. My strategy would be

The Role Of Anger In PTSD
The authors of the study looked at the role of anger in PTSD (Lommen, Engelhard, Schoot, Hout,
2014). On average, those diagnosed with PTSD experience more trait anger, anger over time and
across a number of situations. Trait anger is also more related to problematic behavior. The study s
aim was to find out if trait anger predicts PTSD symptoms even when various vulnerability factors are
taken into account. For example, pre trauma neuroticism has been shown to predict levels of PTSD.
The authors hypothesized that trait anger before deployment would predict PTSD levels at two months
and again at nine months after deployment. The authors also hypothesized that there would be a
relationship between trait anger after deployment and PTSD levels

Disney Infinity Essay
Disney has been using transmedia for many decades now, and after releasing their latest video game
platform Disney Infinity, they have proven once again that they are innovative players in the
transmedia field. Through Disney Infinity, Disney show how far the limits of transmedia reach. In this
essay I will be explaining what Disney Infinity is, what the Disney Infinity universe is and how it
works to complement the separate franchise canonically. After this I will be introducing the reasons
how and why Disney Infinity was a success and helped Disney to be a strong influencer in the
transmedia platform. My final point will be how Disney kept the interest of buyers for the Disney

a great transmedia product, Max Giovagnoli states Story worlds provide the best possible foundations

Puritans And The New World Essay
Over the years, people broadcast the Puritans as a group of people who were extremely legalistic and
against anything that would be considered fun in the modern world. This incorrect broadcast of the
Puritans has led to many misconceptions about how they lived when they came to the New World and
settled in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. The Puritans were not legalistic, but rather sought to please
God by creating a society that focused on fulfilling their calling through the institutions of family,
work, education, and government in a positive environment. This led to a fruitful society when it
followed in its original intentions.
The Puritans believed that God instituted society and expected to see Christian principles prevail
within (173). The goal of the Puritans was not to be legalistic but to please the God who sent His Son
to save them from their sins. As a result, they sought to establish laws that aligned with Christian
principles. One Puritan, Thomas Cartwright, even said that the commonwealth must be made to agree
with the church [that is Christian principles]. Laws were not instituted to force action of the citizens
but sought to ensure that the citizens of the colony followed the commands of God laid out in the
Bible. While this motivation to obey the Word of God in all portions does substantiate the claim
towards legalism, a deeper study of the term legalism shows that the Puritans were not legalistic.
According to the definition of legalism, the Puritans were

A Look into Cleopatra’s Early Life Influences
For Rome, who had never condescended to fear any nation or people, did in her time fear two human
beings; one was Hannibal, and the other was a woman (Lefkowitz and Fant 126). During a time
dominated by male rulers, Cleopatra VII Philopator (69 BCE 31 BCE), the Last Pharaoh of Egypt,
stood out among them all. With Egypt s wealth at her disposal, she was incomparably richer than
anyone else (Schiff 2). The amount of power a ruler had at the time of Cleopatra s existence depended
highly on the level of financial stability. However, wealth was not all Cleopatra was known for. She
exhibited high militant leadership skills equal to that of her male counterparts to keep Egypt a
prosperous country.

She was intelligent, spoke nine or ten languages (Roberts 126). As a result, she would not need
interpreters when commanding. Rather she would be able to communicate directly.
Furthermore, another influence that determined Cleopatra s rule as queen stems from her lineage. As
has been discovered, the Ptolemies, the family Cleopatra belonged to, were not Egyptian. Rather, they
were Macedonian Greek. After Alexander the Great s death in 323 BCE, his empire was divided
among his generals (Harold, Anton, Duca, Henefin 28). Ptolemy Soler I claimed Egypt and thus the
Ptolemaic Dynasty flourished. However, it has been noted that during the reign of the first three
Ptolemaic Pharaohs had Egypt prospered (Harold, et. al 28). Thereafter, Cleopatra, daughter to
Ptolemy XII Auletes and possibly Cleopatra V Tryphaena of Egypt, inherited an Egypt in decline
(Harold, et al 28). It would be up to her to restore Egypt.
Yet, it was not until after the death of her father in 51 BCE that Cleopatra ascended to the throne and
married with her brother Ptolemy XIII, who was ten at the time. The marriage happened as per
Egyptian custom and as instructed in her father s will (Roberts 126). Although Cleopatra was married
to her brother, a male with inherent power in the Egyptian culture, he was kept firmly in the
background (Roberts 126). With the opportunity granted to her by her father s death, she made
decisions of state (Roberts 126). Unfortunately, Cleopatra taking over

Foot Locker Traces Its Origins
Foot Locker traces its origins back to the year 1879, after Frank Woolworth opened his first store,
Woolworth s Great Five Cent Store in Utica New York. He was a New York native who was the son of
American Civil war captain, John Hubbell Woolworth and his wife, Fanny Mcbrier ( Biography of
Frank Winfield Woolworth 2005). The couple married in 1851 and one year later, Frank Winfield
Woolworth was born. His childhood was filled with memories of hard work and scarcity. Mr.
Woolworth would work long hours on his father s farm and would barely have enough money to
scrape buy. This became evident when he took a trip to Watertown, NY to buy a 50 cent scarf for his
mother and was ridiculed by shopkeepers for trying to buy with change. The trip also allowed the
young man to come across another store where he was able to buy a similar scarf for 5 cents and a
wide variety of other cheap goods. On top of that, the staff were much more courteous as they
provided a satisfying attitude for all customers, regardless of social background. Such quality service
prompted Mr. Woolworth to open his first store in 1879 that would mirror such quality to the public.
His business model worked as he was able to incorporate his company in 1904 to become the famed
F.W Woolworth Co. . Almost 50 years later, the company would surpass the one billion dollar value
mark. After that, Woolworth and Co. would acquire the G.R Kinney Corporation in 1965, the

Native American And European Interactions Between Native...
The interactions between Native Americans and Europeans were beneficial as well as detrimental for
both parties. From the introduction of new crops and items to the alteration in gender roles, the
clashing of two completely different cultures had a lasting impact.
When Europeans first settled in America, there were many obstacles along the way. There was a
struggle for survival and fortunately, the natives were present to help by teaching the Europeans how
to grow crops, fish, and hunt. Farming allowed for the introduction of foreign crops such as corn,
potatoes, and beans into their diets which improved their health and extended their life. The gathering
of nuts and berries also became a part of their diet. Hunting and fishing eventually became a way of
life for some Europeans and led to competition for forest resources with natives. Climate differences
caused the European clothing to experience minimal change with clothing commonly used by the
Indians being incorporated into the European style due to its practicality. Men began wearing
moccasins, leggings, and hunting shirts for comfort as well as a form of stating cultural mobility but
overall the style didn t stick. Transport was also an issue in the beginning but was soon addressed by
Indian snowshoes, canoes, and toboggans, which aided Europeans when it came to transporting
manufactured products and people as well as infiltrating further into the country. The architecture was
only slightly modified with Europeans

Nurturing Donor Analysis
Nurturing Donors Organizations must view their potential donors as people instead of a potential
donation. Organizations must effectively and efficiently collect and organize data about each potential
donor in order to tailor strategies and techniques that encourage and persuade the individual to support
their cause (Weinstein, 2013, p. 110). Organizations must listen carefully to the desires of the potential
donor and use this information to create an appeal for support. Once this information is collected it
should be documented using fundraising software or an Excel spreadsheet (Weinstein, 2013, p. 73).
Although data collection and organizational systems are great, they are useless if the organization does
not use the information to request support from unique donors (Weinstein, 2013, p. 111).

Bye Bye Birdie Analysis
The Broadway musical Bye Bye Birdie premiered in 1960 and continues to enjoy popularity among
various audiences. Written and composed by Lee Adams and Charles Strouse, the musical fictionalizes
the real life induction of rock and roll idol Elvis Presley through the character of Conrad Birdie into
the United States Army. One important element of the musical s plot is the excitement of a group of
teenagers in a small Ohio town when they learn of the arrival of a rock star and the prospect of one
lucky girl getting a final good bye kiss. The version of Bye Bye Birdie that was reviewed for this
analysis was an August 2017 stage production by Gulfport Little Theatre. Like the original production
of the musical, the Gulfport Little Theater production stayed truthful to biographical details of Elvis s
life and all actors were highly professional in their representation of individual characters; however,
unlike the original production, the set was reduced to an absolute minimum which was clearly
noticeable to the audience. Both productions of the musical have identical plots and scene sequences.
These may seem self explanatory; however, it is noteworthy that directors often take artistic liberties
in interpreting plays or musicals, especially when they may appear dated to contemporary audiences.
This, however, was not the case in the 2017 production of Bye Bye Birdie because it stuck strictly to
script; so much so, that actors could have been exchanged across plays without any

Another situation that shows the isolation of this area is described in the article when Judge McElroy
came into office and decided to venture all the way out to Snow Lake. As he drove into the town he
was immediately flagged down by a citizen and questioned, he was then instructed to leave
immediately. This type of action would not be anywhere close to normal in a city or any sort of large
town. It really could only happen at Snow Lake. Snow Lake is obviously very isolated because of its
distance from a larger town but it is also very isolated due to its geographic location. Snow Lake is
located in Desha County; however, Elaine, Marvell, and Helena West Helena are all a part of Phillips
County. This is because Snow Lake is in the North Eastern part of Desha County that is cut off from
the main portion by rivers. No bridges have been built to connect Snow Lake to the main part of
Desha County due to the few people that would benefit from the large cost and effort. Instead, when
Snow Lakers wish to visit central Desha County they must endure a two and a half hour drive that
covers over one hundred and thirty five miles and four different Arkansas counties. The article says
that while Judge McElroy does drive this distance he prefers to fly there as it only takes twenty
minutes and is one hundred miles shorter by air. Snow Lakers seldom must drive this distance;
however, some situations might require a visit to a courthouse or a revenue office and driving the

Callaway Golf Case Essay
Summary: In 1998, Callaway, one of the most famous brands in the golf domain, has experienced its
first loss of $ 27 million after 10 years of growth. To resolve this problem, Ely Callaway, the founder
of this company, wondered if CGC (Callaway Golf Company) would have to revise the way it
approached retailer relationships to raise more mutually beneficial. To address possible market
confusion, should the communication strategy shift? In fall 1999, Callaway faced amount of

2. Like Nike and Adidas, Callaway has become a well known golf brand that customers have treated it
as a professional sign. So there is difficulty for the new brand to threaten Callaway s current market.
Power of suppliers:
1. As the case mentioned, Callaway adjusted the wholesale prices of Big Bertha metal woods rather
infrequently because they are confident in their own products with so many efforts on budget and R D.
They strongly believed that after using the products, customers would understand and accept the
reason why their products prices were higher than others .
2. Callaway spent lots of money on R D, and that was why the prices were higher. So, for beginning
golf customers, buying new Callaway clubs was a daunting task, even if Callaway s target market
aimed at the average golf player rather than professional golf player.
Powers of buyers:
1. CGC s target market Average golfers (defined as playing 10 rounds minimum per year), generally
had handicaps above 18, and bought new equipment every two to three years.
2. Compare with woods and irons, putters were relatively inexpensive at around $100 each. Because
putting was viewed as the most critical aspect to the game and because most golfers were weak

many golfers owned five or more different putters

Posttructuralism And Structuralism
Poststructuralism mainly criticizes the dependence of structuralism on tradition and opposes
traditional structuralism to focus research on objectivity and rationality. It attempts to restore irrational
tendencies, pursue from the logic, but produce non logical results. There is seldom a coherent theory
in the field of poststructuralism, but each theory begins with a critique of Structuralism. Take the
documentary as an example, in the view of the poststructuralist theorists, there is nothing else other
than ideology, and any objective and true claim is doubtful in the documentary expression. For many
people, such a poststructuralist approach is disappointing. If the documentary cannot get any form of
objectivity or authenticity, even full of fiction like other feature film, then, how does documentary
confirm its identity and value? For the moment, the response of the theorists to this issue is not
sufficient, but I am in favor of Carl s point of view. Carl (1996) argues that the theory of
poststructuralism and postmodernism is untenable as a philosophy. Also, as a basis for political
analysis and political action, it is a failure. The research on poststructuralism is political, because
many poststructuralists believe that the world which people living now is just a social construct, and
there are many different ideology promoters who want to be hegemonic. This is obviously not
acceptable.
The documentary is a non fictional art technique. It restore and record the past or

Harry s point of view on the Ministry s actions shows the audience that the Ministry is continuing to
lose credibility from Harry s perspective. The Ministry s lack of credibility as illustrated through
Harry s point of view is a theme Rowling repeats in the Harry Potter series. It is Rowling s style to
create controversy in the plot so she can use Harry to address such conflict and in turn teach the
readers how to confront injustice in their own world.
An example of how Rowling utilizes Harry s point of view to face immorality is when Harry questions
Scrimgeour on the undeserved arrest of Stan Shunpike. In response to Harry s confrontation,
Scrimgeour responds, These are dangerous times, and certain measures need to be taken. You are
sixteen years old (346). Scrimgeour s retort is used to show the perception of children being too young
to understand adults actions. However, the audience is aware of Harry s point of view on Stan s arrest
and knows that Harry has made a logical argument on why his arrest was unjust. Rowling makes
Harry seem well informed on Stan Shunpike s arrest in order to appeal to the audience s ethos. Thus,
because Harry is a credible source the audience agrees with Harry s opinion. In this way, Rowling uses
Harry s point of view to show readers that young people can question authority and should not be
passive when figures of authority are depraved. In short, Rowling is teaching social responsibility.

Pros And Cons Of Personal Jurisdiction
Personal Jurisdiction also known as jurisdiction in personam is the power of a court to require that a
party or a witness come before the court; extends to the states boarders in the state court system and
across the courts geographic district in the federal system (pg. 42). In this case, there are three states
involved; first is a Internet Company called Funny Face which is based in California, second state
involved is Novelty Now Inc. in Florida who manufactures and distributes the product, the third state
is New York which is where the customer lived that received the faulty product. This product was a
aftershave lotion which had an harmful side effect due to a ingredient that is not FDA approved.
According to the contract between Funny Face and Novelty Now all conflicts must go through the

jurisdiction is a courts power to hear certain kinds of cases (pg44). It determines which court system

The federal court system has exclusive jurisdiction over very few cases including bankruptcy cases,

The Great Depression of the 1930 s was the worst economic time for Americans because of the lack of

during that time so they, built shantytowns on the outskirts of cities or along roadways. The areas were

for her even if he didn t show it. The key point of their love was to show the audience that not all love
is loyal. Especially due to distance, it can be hard to maintain a relationship when a person doesn t

Pericles Play Analysis
Pericles In the performance of Pericles, by Shakespeare, I had the expectation of older costumes and
old english. While there was old english, I still was able to understand what was happening during the
play. The costumes during the performance were more of a modern take to Shakespeare. During the
performance, the actors were very engaged with the audience, used the stage well, and provided
enjoyable music. During the show, the actors were able to keep the show very entertaining by being
engaged with the audience. I thought it was both humorous and entertaining when the actors would get
close to the audience or be humorous by saying lines directly at audience members. During the
performance there was a large sense of action and reaction from the characters to the audience. At
points during the show, the actors would shift from taking the scene very seriously and would make a
joke and the entire audience would laugh. I felt that the actors made the show feel very personal by
keeping the audience engaged by making eye contact and making feel as if they were talking to the
audience while on stage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The actors utilized the stage in a practical way and spaced themselves out in an even matter. They
made a balance throughout the stage and I noticed for most of the play the actors made sure they were
spaced correctly. It felt like the actors were able to communicate with their body language as if it was
natural to them, therefore making the stage symmetrical. I believed that the actors did take use of the
small stage they had and made it seem as if it was double the size. I also believe that I knew I was in
the presence of great actors, since they knew how to utilize the stage in that

Pursuing A Career In Theatre Education
Hey there, everyone! As the Christmas season comes to a close, I thought it was time for me to do
another post about theatre education. Earlier in the year, I did a few posts on education, including a
quiz about what theatre major to choose in college, out of state schools for theatre, and why it is
important to participate in youth theatre.
Today, I wanted to do a post about the diverse theatre personnel. A lot of time when people think about
theatre, their minds immediately jump to actors, director, producers, costume designers, etc.
Obviously, those jobs are extremely important, but there are other jobs in theatre are essential to the
creation of a successful show.
Today, we will be focusing on pre production. Next week will be production ... Show more content on

However, make up design like costume design is very specific and although degree programs don t
really exist for it, technical programs do, so training in one of these stage makeup programs although
not necessarily required is incredibly useful.
Actor/actress portrays the characters created by the playwright. Interprets the role, keeping true to the
vision of the director.
Many colleges offer BFAs in Acting, but a large percentage of general Theatre BAs have acting
concentrations as well.
It is important for actors to understand the technical positions as well.
Thank you for reading and learning! Tune in next week for a list of theatre jobs directly involved in
show time!

Political Participation Essay
American political parties are unique, because the only qualification is self identification. Of course,
several factors impact how an individual politically identifies themselves. These factors may include
family life, childhood environment, etc. One major aspect is education level. How an individual s
education level impacts their political self identification in the political spectrum is a well researched
topic. Education influences the binary decision to participate in politics, whether it be through voting
or some other form of political activism. Education level also shapes an individual s various policy
positions. Most directly, education (specifically political literacy) affects how well they perceive the
larger political landscape and where they fit into it.
Education and Political Participation
Adam Berzinsky and Gabriel Lenz tried to study education as a cause for political participation in
their article Education and Political Participation: Exploring the Causal Link . They compared levels
of political participation among men who avoided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hillygus analyzed whether the polarization in Washington, DC was representative of the American
public in The Nature of Political Ideology in the Contemporary Electorate . They did this by focusing
on responses to 23 questions from the 2000 American National Election Study that reflect a variety of
politically relevant issues (Treier and Hillygus 684). This way, they could see how well a person s
policy positions correlated to their ideological identification. These questions covered both economic
and social issues, so they were able to look at economic/social policy positions as independent of each
other (Treier and Hillygus 686). While many political scientists agree that economic and social issues
are separate issue areas, this mindset is not reflected in America s two party system. This could
potentially muzzle voters whose economic and social policy positions do not line up with the same

The Aging American Population Essay
The Aging American Population The American population has changed dramatically over the last
century. Our society has become effected by this in all areas and walks of life. It is unknown what the
future holds for America, but the statistical trends in an aging population may shed some light. The
rate of aging in the United States will increase dramatically in the second and subsequent decades of
the century. Within the United States, the size of the population over age 65 has soared during this
century, increasing from 3 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though average length of hospital stays has decreased for those over 65, their visits to physicians are
over twice as frequent as those under 65. With increases in age, the intensity of using health care
resources increases: Those over 75, though only 5.5 percent of the total population in 1993, accounted
for 28 percent of all hospital days. At the same time, the caregiver population comprised of both the
elderly and non elderly will be impacted by these changes.
Aging is also an aspect of population dynamics that affects the level of poverty also. As fertility
declines and the population ages, traditional family based systems for providing old age care may
weaken, leaving the elderly vulnerable. The income security of older persons is a policy concern not
only in developed countries but increasingly as well in developing countries such as China that have
passed through the demographic transition. Between 2000 and 2050, the proportion of the population
aged 65 and older will have doubled in most developing regions. This exponential increase in the
aging populous could leave that generation drastically vulnerable. Not only would the health standard
be effected but also the income producing majority. Forecasts show that policy makers must address
the impact of our aging population in the next decade to stay ahead of the demand on resources
required by a population

Secondly, what are the advantages and disadvantages of both fixed and floating loans and how these will affect Marcus based on the information we know about him. We also look at the unknowns of Marcus s situation that may lead to an alteration in recommendation. Thirdly we will look at how long of a fixed period would be recommended to have the most economic benefit for Marcus if he decides to go with this option. We tend to shift from physical activities to more leisure activities like reading, relaxing and thinking, and watching TV, according to one time use study up to 58% of people aged 55 and over spend the majority of their time watching TV each day (Novak 326). One may feel they have earned the right to lounge around and become less active as they age or enter retirement, as they have paid their dues to the working community. This sedentary life style leads to obesity, in 2008, 26.6% of people aged 60 years and older were considered obese and their decrease in physical activity makes the body slowly decline due to neglect, putting the elderly at risk for heart disease, osteoporosis, depression, and disability (Novak 330). Disengagement, continuity, and age stratification theories provide some insight as to why we become more sedentary as we age: disengagement theory is known as elders withdrawing socially as part of the natural aging process, continuity is based on ones level of activity in their middle aged years and is carried into their later years, and age stratification theory is when society expects the elders to behave in particular way, and don t offer as many social roles for the elderly (Novak 331). It is in this stage that Dantes is a capable sailor, devoted son, faithful lover, totally honest with his relations with the world, he is not without a certain lack of foresight and a too easy unawareness of the evil lurking in the hearts of his associates (Marinetti 262). This ignorance is what makes him more susceptible to attacks by those around him because he only sees the good in people and is consequently unaware of their evil side. In this way, it would seem that Dantes was responsible for his initial downfall in that if he were more aware of the existence of both good and bad in the world, he would have been less vulnerable to the plots of his so called friends. At one point later in the story, Dantes proclaims, I am not proud, but I am happy; and happiness blinds, I think, more than pride (Dumas 31). Dantes recognizes that his happiness and innocence is what blinded him and made him vulnerable. In the beginning of the story, Dantes is earning his success and having his whole life planned out with his fiance Mercedes. Dantes initial happiness coincides with his innocence, as it blinded him from the evil plots of his colleagues. It is thus concluded that the justice system must be flawed from the fact that Dantes is suffering even though he is innocent; this corruption acts as a catalyst for Dantes s ... In other words it helps in capturing the image of a the photographed object, formed from the light reflecting back from its surface. Technically it is a photographic material consisting of a celluloid base that is covered with a photographic emulsion that is later used to make the negatives or the transparencies that maybe contained inside a roll, or maybe a cassette or a cartridge. A film, when developed will produce transparent negatives. A negative film is a photographic image that is formed on a narrow transparent strip of sheet whose surface is generally made up of plastic or glass. It is a type of photographic image that shows the bright areas of the subject photographed as dark and the dark areas of the subject as light. A negative film can be found in all formats, and can be black and white or colour. A negative can produce a positive image when light is made to pass through it. A positive image is actually a normal image while a negative image is a total inversion were the light areas of the picture becomes dark and the dark as light. Hence a positive is the final image. Criticism Of Literary Criticism I m writing this letter to show criticism analysis in text so as to employ the principles of rhetoric which brings about the involvement of the author, content and the audience. The requirement for rhetorical analysis will involve the plans that the author used to achieve the goal or purpose in writing. Analysis involves the studying of something difficult in order to know its nature or the features in it. The study helps in providing some essential information for problem solving and making the right decisions. On average, those diagnosed with PTSD experience more trait anger, anger over time and across a number of situations. Trait anger is also more related to problematic behavior. The study s aim was to find out if trait anger predicts PTSD symptoms even when various vulnerability factors are taken into account. For example, pre trauma neuroticism has been shown to predict levels of PTSD. • 26. Puritans And The New World Essay Over the years, people broadcast the Puritans as a group of people who were extremely legalistic and against anything that would be considered fun in the modern world. This incorrect broadcast of the Puritans has led to many misconceptions about how they lived when they came to the New World and settled in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. The Puritans were not legalistic, but rather sought to please God by creating a society that focused on fulfilling their calling through the institutions of family, work, education, and government in a positive environment. This led to a fruitful society when it followed in its original intentions. The Puritans believed that God instituted society and expected to see Christian principles prevail within (173). The goal of the Puritans was not to be legalistic but to please the God who sent His Son to save them from their sins. As a result, they sought to establish laws that aligned with Christian principles. One Puritan, Thomas Cartwright, even said that the commonwealth must be made to agree with the church [that is Christian principles]. Laws were not instituted to force action of the citizens but sought to ensure that the citizens of the colony followed the commands of God laid out in the Bible. While this motivation to obey the Word of God in all portions does substantiate the claim towards legalism, a deeper study of the term legalism shows that the Puritans were not legalistic. A Look into Cleopatra’s Early Life Influences For Rome, who had never condescended to fear any nation or people, did in her time fear two human beings; one was Hannibal, and the other was a woman (Lefkowitz and Fant 126). During a time dominated by male rulers, Cleopatra VII Philopator (69 BCE 31 BCE), the Last Pharaoh of Egypt, stood out among them all. With Egypt s wealth at her disposal, she was incomparably richer than anyone else (Schiff 2). The amount of power a ruler had at the time of Cleopatra s existence depended highly on the level of financial stability. However, wealth was not all Cleopatra was known for. As has been discovered, the Ptolemies, the family Cleopatra belonged to, were not Egyptian. Rather, they were Macedonian Greek. After Alexander the Great s death in 323 BCE, his empire was divided among his generals (Harold, Anton, Duca, Henefin 28). Ptolemy Soler I claimed Egypt and thus the Ptolemaic Dynasty flourished. However, it has been noted that during the reign of the first three Ptolemaic Pharaohs had Egypt prospered (Harold, et. al 28). Thereafter, Cleopatra, daughter to Ptolemy XII Auletes and possibly Cleopatra V Tryphaena of Egypt, inherited an Egypt in decline (Harold, et al 28). It would be up to her to restore Egypt. Yet, it was not until after the death of her father in 51 BCE that Cleopatra ascended to the throne and married with her brother Ptolemy XIII, who was ten at the time. The marriage happened as per Egyptian custom and as instructed in her father s will (Roberts 126). This became evident when he took a trip to Watertown, NY to buy a 50 cent scarf for his mother and was ridiculed by shopkeepers for trying to buy with change. The trip also allowed the young man to come across another store where he was able to buy a similar scarf for 5 cents and a wide variety of other cheap goods. From the introduction of new crops and items to the alteration in gender roles, the clashing of two completely different cultures had a lasting impact. When Europeans first settled in America, there were many obstacles along the way. There was a struggle for survival and fortunately, the natives were present to help by teaching the Europeans how to grow crops, fish, and hunt. Farming allowed for the introduction of foreign crops such as corn, potatoes, and beans into their diets which improved their health and extended their life. The gathering of nuts and berries also became a part of their diet. Hunting and fishing eventually became a way of life for some Europeans and led to competition for forest resources with natives. Climate differences caused the European clothing to experience minimal change with clothing commonly used by the Indians being incorporated into the European style due to its practicality. Men began wearing moccasins, leggings, and hunting shirts for comfort as well as a form of stating cultural mobility but overall the style didn t stick. • 31. Bye Bye Birdie Analysis The Broadway musical Bye Bye Birdie premiered in 1960 and continues to enjoy popularity among various audiences. Written and composed by Lee Adams and Charles Strouse, the musical fictionalizes the real life induction of rock and roll idol Elvis Presley through the character of Conrad Birdie into the United States Army. One important element of the musical s plot is the excitement of a group of teenagers in a small Ohio town when they learn of the arrival of a rock star and the prospect of one lucky girl getting a final good bye kiss. The version of Bye Bye Birdie that was reviewed for this analysis was an August 2017 stage production by Gulfport Little Theatre. Like the original production of the musical, the Gulfport Little Theater production stayed truthful to biographical details of Elvis s life and all actors were highly professional in their representation of individual characters; however, unlike the original production, the set was reduced to an absolute minimum which was clearly noticeable to the audience. Both productions of the musical have identical plots and scene sequences. These may seem self explanatory; however, it is noteworthy that directors often take artistic liberties in interpreting plays or musicals, especially when they may appear dated to contemporary audiences. Harry s point of view on the Ministry s actions shows the audience that the Ministry is continuing to lose credibility from Harry s perspective. The Ministry s lack of credibility as illustrated through Harry s point of view is a theme Rowling repeats in the Harry Potter series. It is Rowling s style to create controversy in the plot so she can use Harry to address such conflict and in turn teach the readers how to confront injustice in their own world. An example of how Rowling utilizes Harry s point of view to face immorality is when Harry questions Scrimgeour on the undeserved arrest of Stan Shunpike. In response to Harry s confrontation, Scrimgeour responds, These are dangerous times, and certain measures need to be taken. You are sixteen years old (346). With increases in age, the intensity of using health care resources increases: Those over 75, though only 5.5 percent of the total population in 1993, accounted for 28 percent of all hospital days. At the same time, the caregiver population comprised of both the elderly and non elderly will be impacted by these changes.
