Republican Party Viewpoints
Imagine getting raped by a family member and then are faced with the decision when an unwanted
pregnancy occurs due to this unfortunate traumatic event. What should be done? The Republican party
should win the 2016 elections because of the parties views on same sex marriage, abortion, and drugs.
According to....... The Republican party stands for a more traditional marriage between one women
and one man. The Republican party believes that it is healthier to have a one man and one women
authority in a household to create a more balanced environment. Republicans headed the enactment of
the Defense of Marriage Act. However, the Defense of Marriage Act was repealed by a Democratic

The Republican party has a firm belief that any unborn child, like any natural born individual, has the
right to life that should not be taken upon others to end. The Republicans believe that the fourteenth
amendment applies to all unborn children just as well as it does any individual. The Republican party
believes in giving women with pregnancies problems the support and resources needed. However, the
form of support can not be to infringe on the life of the unborn baby. The Republican party does not
promote the tax revenue for abortion;nevertheless, republicans support tax incentives for those who
choose to give the baby up for adoption instead of abortion. The Republican party platform has four
elements. These elements consist of the fetus is a person, the endorsement of a human life, that the
unborn child has a fundamental individual right to life which cannot be infringed upon, and call for a
judge who respects human life. Even though republicans are pro life it does not mean they do not
believe in women s rights, but they are however defending the rights to the unborn child. Democrats
however have a completely opposite view on the topic of abortion. The Democratic party sternly
believes in the rights of the women to decide what is to be done with the unborn

Learning English As A Foreign Language
Introduction This essay will try to explain through the use of research why and how people learn
English as a foreign language. Brian Munoz is an example of a student learning English as a foreign
language. He was born in Mexico and his first language is Spanish. As well as studying English he has
also studied French. Brian has an interest in learning languages and wishes to one day be able to travel
to the countries where those languages are spoken. Brian would first like to visit the united states in
order to completely immerse himself in English. There are five members of his family, himself, his
parents and his siblings.
Motivation
Brian is both intrinsically and extrinsically motivated to learn English. In an interview he stressed that
he thinks English will be necessary in university in order for him to obtain a degree. Brian also stated
that he wishes to use his English skills in the future in order to obtain a better job. An intrinsic reason
is that Brian has two cousins who speak English that he would like to be able to talk to (Harmer; 2007,
pp. 98 104).
Learning Style Brian has a highly logical mathematical intelligence. This suggests he is a highly
analytical and scientific thinker (Oxford; 2001, pp. 359 366). Brian s style of learning can be
particularly well suited to learning grammar and other pattern based aspects of language. He finds
when the teacher gives the students a set formula to grammar learning very easy.
Teaching Method The Comprehension Based Approach will be best suited for Brian. Brian has stated
that he struggles the most with listening comprehension, and this approach emphasizes listening and
comprehension (Sauvignon; 2001, pp. 13 28).
Student Needs Brian would like to improve his English fluency, especially when listening to spoken
English. He is confident in his abilities in other areas such as grammar. A one on one lesson will be
designed to help Brian achieve his goals, and strengthen his weaknesses.
Language Skills Brian s weak points are in the listening and reading language skills. Brian finds
listening activities in his IMAC class to be difficult for him to understand. He has trouble paying
attention to the

variety of different medical interventions to help her return to normalcy. Her symptoms include short
term memory problems, change in appetite and mood, impaired physical abilities, and a change in her
word finding skills. Sari returned home after a night stay in the hospital. She is determined to return to
school, which her physician clears with the recommendation of her receiving a multitude of different
types of care. This paper will be an examination of what Sari s health insurance plan will cover and to
what extent.
Sari is insured through a preferred provider organization, which will be referred to as PPO for the
continuation of this paper, from Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield ( Insurance Card , 2016). A PPO is a
model of health insurance that are made up of loose knit organizations where the provider is typically
paid at a discounted rate (Bodenheimer Grumbach, 2012, pp. 32 33). People with PPO type plans,
including Sari, are able to see providers that are out of network for a higher out of pocket amount. Her
insurance is provided through her father s employer and costs $5884.58 per year (Saucier, Medical
Insurance Spend , 2016). Due to the recommendations from Sari s physician, it is very likely that she
will be placed on medication either for short term use or

Nokia Swot Analysis Essay
Nokia is known as one of the world s largest vendors of mobile phones. It is a great communications
as well as multinational technology corporation that provides services and equipment regarding
telecommunication. It goes without saying that its mobile phones are durable as well as reliable
making it rule the mobile market for a long time. However, Android as a competitor had advanced to a
level that Nokia features were becoming irrelevant in the global Smartphone market (Becker,
Mladenow, Kryvinska, Strauss, 2012). Technology is a drive in the Smartphone industry, each day a
discovery is made, and new features that are user friendly are introduced. Nokia and Microsoft could
not deny this fact and hence they had to join forces so as to compete fairly with other giants in the
Smartphone industry. Moreover, Nokia started losing customers thus they had to strategize on new
measures that will enable them to compete fairly on the Smartphone market. Due to this alliance, it is
advisable to do an analytical SWOT analysis to come up with a proper view of the brand s strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities, as well as threats (Deresky, 2013, p. 187). Strengths To start with, Nokia
has a distinguished brand name. It is obvious that many customers often opt for Nokia as compared to
other brands because of the reputation. The company s products are known to be durable as well as
reliable. Nokia has very highly qualified staff. They have teamed up with experts from Microsoft as

Snowball vs. Napoleon Snowball and Napoleon both had different opinions how Animal Farm should
be run. They both had a common goal but they both had a completely different way to achieve that
goal. If Napoleon had an idea Snowball would have a completely different idea that would lead in a
different way. There are three ways that Napoleon and Snowball were different. First everything
Napoleon took part in would benefit himself not the whole Animal Farm. Second was that Napoleon
never showed interest in the strength of the Animal Farm but only in the strength of his authority over
it. Lastly Napoleon would take more to brute force while Snowball was a very good and persuasive
speaker. The first way that Napoleon and snowball were different was that while Napoleon only cared
about how everything would benefit himself. Snowball cared nothing about himself and would care
only for the benefit of the Animal Farm. One early example of Napoleon s selfishness was when he
secretly raised the puppies for his own purpose. Snowball had many different ideas and plans that
would lessen the workload upon the animals. Napoleon at first seemed to strongly disagree with all the
plans and wanted no part in any of it but then after he got rid of Snowball he brought the ideas all back
up and claimed them as his own. Snowball was also a big enthusiast of animalism and wanted it to
spread to all the other farms while Napoleon only wanted to be superior

Reserve Bank Of Australia Case Study
Describe the main role of the Reserve Bank of Australia and explain how Australia s central bank uses
monetary policy to influence the level of interest rates and economic activity in the economy.
The importance and influence of the Reserve bank of Australia on the Australian economy
Introduction
The Reserve Bank of Australia plays a significant role to Australia s financial market and economy as
the central bank of Australia. The RBA operates in financial markets and presides over Australian s
currency and international reserves. Their key responsibilities and goals are to conduct monetary
policy, stabilising currency and employment rates, and economic welfare inclusive of Australian
society. Monetary policy is defined as the ability of the Reserve Bank to influence interest rates and
the cost of credit . These goals and responsibilities are achieved through the conducting of monetary
policy and open market operations, consequently affecting the economy s interest and therefore, cash
rate. Interest rate is a percentage of the principal amount charged from the lender for the use of the
money, whilst the cash rate is the interest rate specifically on overnight loans. Through the exploration
of interest and cash rates, financial markets, monetary policy, open market operations and
transmission mechanism, we are able to identify the influence of the RBA s use of monetary policy in
regard to the level of interest rates and economic activity in the economy.

Conjugal Violence In Social Work
Routine Activities Along with these two amazing projects, I also engaged in administrative work like
answering phones, taking messages, making calls, notifying the social workers and cultural
intermediaries that their clients have arrived, ensuring that the client is comfortable, and so forth. One
thing that will remain memorable was when I answered the phone and a man explained called for a
friend because he feared that his friend was in danger of being killed by her husband and asked
whether there was space at SOAFS s emergency shelter. With this crisis call, I realized how conjugal
violence is a very serious issue in Quebec, and it showed me the how severe some people s cases can
be. Not only was I shaken, but I was also in awe at how calmly and with such poise the social workers
are when dealing with these types of situation. Additionally, I realized that these are the types of
situation that the social workers need to deal with on a daily basis. Other Activities ... Show more

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Apothecary
The Dispensary is a very useful Institution, yet it leaves many wants unprovided for. According to the
established plan of the Bristol Dispensary an Apothecary prescribes for the great majority of the
Patients, and only calls in the aid of the Physician when he deems it advisable. This practice is
contrary to the routine of the Dispensaries in London, Liverpool and other large towns, where the
Physician prescribes for every Patient. Some benefits are probably obtained by this peculiarity, but
disadvantages are also attendant. At least a department is left void, which may be filled up with good
effect.

The Role Of Financial Aid In Education
After high school, more and more students are opting to continue their education and earn a degree.
However, many face a financial struggle. The cost to attend college is rising. Often, many might think
that attending college is out of the question because of the cost. However, there is help available for
those that are struggling with their finances. It is estimated that over half the students attending college
receive some form of Financial Aid Assistance before graduating. In fact, the average student has used
a combination of scholarships, grants, and loans to fund their education at public, private, and non

How Power Is Used For Concealing Relations Of Power
Power is usually described as bad and is mostly discussed by others about the abuse of power however
this is not true, power can be used to help or protect individuals, which is exactly what the culture I
had observed does. In this essay, I will examine the performances of power that is observed
throughout the ritual ceremony, chanting in the Buddhism culture, displaying how the religion is used
for concealing relations of power within this definite culture. Through this examination, I will use the
theories of Karl Marx (religion as ideology) and Antonio Gramsci (hegemony being concept of
power), to support the display of how the power distributes religion. By relating to the definition of
power, I argue that, for the members of this community, power is about ease and security no
inequality.
The first observation that I had seen to our visit to the Fo Guang Shan Temple that stood out to me the
most were the Buddha statues. Inside the shrine, in the prayer room, were five large Buddha statues
and each wall in the room was occupied with images of small carved Buddha s; both female and male.
Along the left side of the five Buddha s, was an image of Male Buddha and on the right side was an
image of Female Buddha. I also noticed that people took off their shoes at the door before they
entered. When I entered the prayer room, the first entity I had perceived was that the air was filled
with the smell of very strong incense, used for offering the Buddha. People had

Ancient Greek Of Ancient Greece
Polis is a term that is used to describe a tight knit small community of Ancient Greek citizens who

purpose of leading public affairs. The affairs of men and affairs were included as these had essentials

About half of these were citizens and their families with at least 100,000 slaves and the remaining
being foreigners who needed to be registered with a citizen sponsor.
The polis was made up of several different classes of people, just like many societies of that time as
well as the present. There were several drawbacks such as women, slaves, and immigrants not being
able to participate in politics. Those involved in the polis were expected to participate in such
meetings that dealt with the oversight of the city and its dealings with issues. The Athenian democracy
depended on every capable citizen fulfilling his role within the polis. The involvement of all male
citizens and the expectation that they should participate actively in the running of the polis is clear in
this quote from Thucydides: We alone consider a citizen who does not partake in politics not only one
who minds his own business but useless . Ancient Greece is credited with the identification of
democracy because of the large scale in which they produced their governing ways. As early as 900
B.C., Greece again expanded contacts with civilizations to the east, and Greek civilization became
more complex. The rise of empires, most notably the Athenian Empire, brought a more sophisticated
economy, trade, colonization, and war (Curtis). The importance of the polis within Athens became
prevalent through the sophisticated economy produced from the formation. Athens was the most
developed of the Greek polis

Jp Morgan and Dodd-Frank Act
Q. 1. What were the major factors that led to the recent financial crisis? How did we get here?
Answer: One of the primary factors that can be attributed as to have led the recent financial crisis is
the financial deregulation allowing financial institutions a lot of freedom in the way they operated.
The manifestation of this was seen in the form of: a) Financial innovations that were not backed up
with adequate risk controls and management. b) Too much reliance on Quantitative Risk Management
ultimately leading to mispricing of risk across different financial and non financial investments that
were the product of the financial innovations made feasible by financial deregulation. c) The influx of

Answer:
The Glass Steagall Act of 1933 that defined the roles for commercial banks, investments banks and
insurance firms was over ridden by the Gramm Leach Bliley Act (1999) which repealed the provisions
that restricted affiliations in financial institutions. Hence one solution is to overcome the incentive
problem and the conflict of interests that arise when financial institutions simultaneously undertake
financial activities of varied nature.
In addition to the above the internal incentive to bank should be reduced by requiring greater capital
requirements as well as improving upon the definition of what qualifies to be capital. Further in line
with the answer to question 3, risk management systems in financial institutions need to be redefined
and strengthened to more comprehensively identify, evaluate, manage and monitor risks.
Yes we need to have some form of regulation. The proposed regulation is not bad as it covers most of
the recommendations discussed in this write up earlier. It reinforces the regulatory role as outlined
earlier and requires improving the capital requirements as well as the risk management systems in
place in financial institutions. At the same time the focus is mostly on large, complex financial
institutions that have a systematic impact so it allows some flexibility particularly for smaller and
medium size financial institutions.
As for as the key points to consider, the regulation that is

Alliance System and New Imperialism
Otto Von Bismarck formed of designed the European balance of power. The power was known as the
Big Five Britain, France, Germany, Austria Hungary, and Russia. Between 1870 and 1914 the
competition within the European states for territory dominance and control caused separation.
Bismarck departed from office in 1890 which caused the disintegration of the European balance of
power. In 1914 peace was no longer guaranteed when Europe divided into two camps. The formation
of the National Units of Germany and Italy justified Nationalist aspirations of expansion. ... Show

The prosperity of Russia s economics depended on the trade of grain.
The Alliances were formed because of these weaknesses and of the tensions between France and
Germany. Russia s fear of becoming landlocked contributed to the forming of the Alliance. Germany s
navy expanded during the early 1900s and by World War I the German navy was the second largest in
the world. Russia, France, and Britain formed the Triple Entente to set the fuse for war (The German
Empire, Article, 2010). Kaiser Wilhelm I s was replaced by a king who was ill. He served as a
temporary standby until Wilhelm II gained power and took over the throne. Wilhelm II feared
Bismarck s power so he was forced to step down and retire. Even though Bismarck retired as prime
minister his policies continued. A few major events occurred prior to World War I during Wilhelm II s
reign in the 19th century. Economic growth caused capital labor issues to arise in Germany during this
time. Wilhelm II s practices of foreign affairs policies were often contradictory. Even though Wilhelm
II had developed a friendship with Germany and Great Britain; his imperialistic policies forced an
alliance among Britain, Russia, and France. Wilhelm II supported Austria in the Balkans and
supported Russia in its affairs with East Asia. Wilhelm II also believed that the Triple Alliance would

Narrative Voice of Frederick Douglass
Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass
The tone established in the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass is unusual in that from the
beginning to the end the focus has been shifted. In the beginning of the narrative Douglass seems to
fulfill every stereotypical slavery theme. He is a young black slave who at first cannot read and is very
naïve in understanding his situation. As a child put into slavery Douglass does not have the knowledge
to know about his surroundings and the world outside of slavery. In Douglass narrative the tone is first
set as that of an observer, however finishing with his own personal accounts. When first introduced to
Douglass and his story, we find him to be a young slave boy filled with ... Show more content on

Douglass states before narrating any of the peculiar circumstances, I deem it proper to make known
my intention not to state all the facts connected with the transaction. In doing so Douglass assumed
the narrative would lose the interest of its readers, however the mere thought of a slave man risking
his life for a chance to freedom is able to recapture the interest of any facts left out. In the conclusion
of the narrative Frederick Douglass contemplates escaping, weighing it against the idea of leaving all
of his friends. Douglass says, I had a good number of warm hearted friends in Baltimore, friends that I
loved almost as I did my life, and the thought of being separated from them forever was painful
beyond expression. Such a personal tone and accounts make the reader truly see the change Douglass
has gone through since the beginning of the narrative. The language difference from the beginning up
until the conclusion can be based solely on spirit and education. From the start Douglass did not know
much about anything and spoke like he should have, from a child s view. This includes a child s
inquisitiveness, demonstrated by his speaking of others more than himself. As he grows and matures,
and is even given the gift of an education the language changes dramatically to that of an educated
man. Speaking in an intellectual manner Douglass sees that his ability to read and write has truly set
him free. From the tone of a

Descriptive Essay On Fangirls
The inspiration for writing about a fangirl hit me when I realized just how chaotic their obsessive
lifestyle is. Spending hours of their day online tweeting about their favorite celebs. Their endless
arguing with other fanbases about how they hate each other s idols and claiming their own is more
successful. I was a fangirl myself when I was in high school, but not so much now. I am still very
aware of just how far things can get when encountering fangirls online and in real life. To those who
have yet to come across a fangirl, I will be explaining what a fangirl is by the way they act or how
they can be fangirling , what they say or expressions they use, and the stages of fangirls.
Typically, a fangirl does not act normal when it comes to famous people, as though they may look
normal. They call it fangirling. They go far beyond the normal fan level. They have extreme love or
enthusiasm for a person with fame. They enjoy the simple existence of that person. When it comes to
the subject of their obsession with a celebrity, expect the unexpected. Any mention or sighting of a
celebrity will have them gasping for air, fainting, screaming or squealing while jumping, and last but
not least, endless tweeting. Fangirls are determined to buy anything their celebrity comes out with. For
example, any magazine Justin Bieber was featured on I had to buy and hang up his poster. When he
came out with a collection of perfume, I bought every single one and still buy them to this day

The Tragic Impermanence of Youth in Robert Frost s Nothing Gold Can Stay
In his poem Nothing Gold can Stay , Robert Frost names youth and its attributes as invaluable. Using
nature as an example, Frost relates the earliest green of a newborn plant to gold; its first leaves are
equated with flowers. However, to hold something as fleeting as youth in the highest of esteems is to
set one s self up for tragedy. The laws of the Universe cast the glories of youth into an unquestionable
state of impermanence. It is an inescapable fact that all that is born, pure and clean, will be polluted
with age and die. The aging process that Frost describes is meant to be taken literally as well as
metaphorically. Literally, the plants that Frost ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, as summer gives way to fall, life slips into a state of dormancy.
It is said that from the moment you are born, you begin to die. Whether this is a scientific fact is
questionable; growth should not be confused with aging. However, at some level, there is truth
wrapped in such cynicism. Within the physical spectrum, the law of gravity enigmatically enables life
to thrive just as it contributes to its eventual destruction. Like a fatal flaw, gravity creates the
conditions to facilitate life by holding matter together. Existence is only sustained within the bounds
of a limited amount of time however, until gravity pulls down the forms that it had momentarily
allowed to stand. Although we as humans are constantly subject to the weight of gravity throughout
life, we do not exist to submissively press our bellies to the ground, cowering to such a power. We
rebel against its constant pull; we grow, we stand, we live; but not indefinitely. The strongest of backs
will eventually bend in exhaustion. The leaves that were once green and firm shrivel and are pulled
down to the ground from whence they came; ...Leaf subsides to leaf . Little by little, all that is left of
the vivacity of youth wears away. From the point of birth our fate is sealed. All that is incarnated must
eventually bow to gravity s constant force; and finally, at the moment of supreme surrender, we

Nike Vertical Integration Paper
Nike uses vertical integration strategy which is a form of a relationship oriented approach in coming
up with effective and efficient ways of managing its supply chain. This is achieved through forming
alliances and relationships rather than using pricing strategy with an aim of purchasing stuff as cheap
as possible (Frisch, 2008). The company has managed to maintain its relationship with contract
manufacturers for its foot ware by having different types of suppliers. The strategy is used in pricing
its commodities where they have participants at different channel levels so that they could control
costs and influence practices of pricing. For example, there are tier 1 suppliers and tier 2 suppliers

Mount Holyoke Case Study
In 1954, following the Brown v. the Board of Education decision, African American students became
legally able to apply for admission to previously all White colleges and universities (Anderson, 2002).
Following this legislation, many higher education institutions began to racially integrate at a

significant racial integration following Brown, and following student sit ins in the 1960s and 1980s,

happiness comes to you the moment you don t expect it to come. Happiness should not be searched

Internal Controls
Internal Controls XACC 280 Crystal Riley Sanford September 10, 2010 Instructor Glenn Dakin
Internal Controls Internal controls are the measures a company takes to do accomplish two primary
goals; protect their assets from employee theft, robbery and unauthorized use. Internal controls are
also used to increase accuracy of company financial information, reducing the risk of errors
(accidental) and irregularities (intentional) (Weygandt, 2009). Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 The

For example, entering data and having limited tasks in an area increase the effectiveness of internal
controls. In other areas, such as cash handling combined with customer service and other various
tasks, those internal controls may not seem as important concerning the register as it does stock.
Comparison of Internal Controls Establishment of responsibility and segregation of duties are similar
in that one person is assigned and responsible for a certain asset. In establishing responsibility, it is
easy to determine who made a mistake and how it was made because one person was responsible. In
segregation of duties, one person is assigned to a certain task alternately. For example, having one
person count the cash in the office and having the other key it into the system, to ensure numbers are
not being changed to make everything appear balanced. Physical, mechanical and electronic controls
are used to safeguard assets and enhance the security of them (Weygandt, 2009). Examples would be
keys only assigned to cash office personnel, the code on the vault, time clocks and video surveillance.
Independent internal verification is way of double checking the information reported by employees.
For example, managers are not directly associated with the accounting office and they check the daily
work completed by accounting office employees on a weekly or semi weekly basis to ensure that all

Why Did Texas Almost Fail as a Spanish Essay
Why Did Texas Almost Fail as a Spanish Colony?
Why do the ventures of man fail? The ventures of men fail primarily due to a lack of planning. In the
case of Spanish colonies in Texas this holds true. The Spanish first set eyes on the Texas coast in 1519
and in 1821 they lowered their flag for the final time in Texas. The Spanish had about 300 years to try
and colonize Texas and the attempt to colonize and settle Texas was not very successful. The initial
boats that came to Texas were shipwrecked and only four people survived of the approximately 270
men that made the trip. One of these four survivors was Cabeza De Vaca. These were the first
Spaniards to live on Texas soil. Cabeza had a goal to settle Texas and befriend ... Show more content

Third, the Spanish failed to plan for the hostility of the Comanche and Apache Indians living in the
area. Thus, the difficult geography, the weak missions, and hostile Indians were the main causes of the
near failure of the Spanish colonies in Texas.
The geography, primarily the distances between settled areas in Texas was a real problem for the
colonization of Texas by the Spaniards. The Spanish were well established in Mexico City in the south
and in New Mexico to the north. However, the distance from Mexico City and the missions in San
Antonio was about 700 miles (Doc A). Also, the distance from San Antonio to Santa Fe, New Mexico
was about the same distance of 700 miles (Doc A). These were the two closest developed areas to the
new colonies. In those days, travel was primarily by mule train and it would take around two months
to travel these distances (Doc A). These vast distances made it difficult for trade and made it
expensive to transport needed supplies to the newly settled areas. The expense of transportation
between settlements lead to very slow economic development and without a chance to make a living
people were just not willing to move to the new settlements. In addition to the distances, the land in
the area was characterized by very rough terrain and with very little water (Doc A). Since travel was
by animals pulling wagons the availability of fresh water was important in order to water the mules

Melinda Courageous Quotes

that s all what speak is about, Melinda, a freshman who is bullied and ignored for calling the police

to be courageous, and I m using the book speak, as an example. Put simply, it s important to be
courageous because everyone has to stand up for themselves.
It s important for people to stand up for themselves because if they don t, they will never improve and
they ll be vulnerable when they are threatened or treated unfairly. In this quote, Melinda is stuck in the
janitors closet and is being attacked by Andy Evans. But then Melinda chooses to fight back, she grabs
a piece of broken glass and puts it to his throat: His lips are paralyzed. He cannot speak. That s good
enough. Me: I said no. (Anderson Pg 195). If she had not been courageous enough to stand up for
herself, she could have been hurt, or worse. That s why it is important to be courageous and for people
to protect themselves. Giving up and giving in could be detrimental to them and move them farther
away from their goal or get themselves hurt. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Importance Of Peer Pressure In My Life
If there is one thing that I ve learned in this life, it would be that friends can pressure you into doing
almost anything. That could be taken as a positive, or it could be taken as a negative, which it is in my
case. Peer pressure is hard to ignore, and when you re young and naive, you will do anything your
friends tell you to do. Being a brainless middle schooler that I once was, I lit a fire in the bathroom.
Imagine showing up to the middle school as a scrawny, scared, unintelligent fifth grader. Being a
normal kid, I hated having to go to school. What started out to be a normal day, ended up with a friend
and I in the principal s office. I thought the day was going to be uneventful, and I wasn t going to learn
anything because I didn t like to pay attention in class. Due to that day, I learned a very valuable
lesson. Just because your friends are doing it, doesn t mean that it s right or that it is a good idea.
Lighting a fire in a small enclosed area is very foolish. For some reason, bathrooms are a place that we
as kids enjoyed to hang out and mess around in. That was where we could mess around and talk about
absolutely anything and not get into trouble, well at least we thought that anyway. It would ve been
fine until one of my friends named Kevin Herndon decided to bring a lighter to school for some odd
reason. I m not going to blame the whole incident on him, because I helped worsen the situation, but I
do blame most of it on him. If he wouldn t have decided to

Advantages of Grazing Cattle on Public Lands
Grazing cattle on public lands can have many advantages. Monetary gain is a large reason why lands
are utilized (Council for Agricultural Science, Livestock Grazing on Federal Land). However grazing
may be used as a tool for managing rangelands. Grazing could have possibly been the first form of
rangeland management other than fire (Frost, Prescription Grazing). With this method, weeds and
other undesirable vegetation were targeted to reduce numbers. However, if prescribed incorrectly it
could lead to poor conditions for other organisms living in that environment (Frost, Prescription
Grazing). Recently there has been a push toward research for the protection of the sage grouse. In this
paper we will explore the effects of rangeland grazing and rangeland treatments on the sage grouse
and its habitat.
The sage grouse, as the name may imply, has a large reliance on the sagebrush. Sage grouse need large
areas of sagebrush for cover, feed, and nesting (Patterson, Sage in Wyoming). A study in 1998 on sage
grouse nests found higher concentrations of successful sage grouse nests that were located in
undisturbed sagebrush sample areas that had thick brush cover and taller canopies (Sveum, Nesting
Habitat Selection). In the summer, sage grouse require a variety of components to survive. The bird
uses the sagebrush for cover though they also need open area with grasses and forbs for insect feed for
their offspring and for mating (Dunn, Adult Female and Juvenile).

Essay about Ancient Civilizations
Early American Civilizations
Early American civilizations were composed of four different groups of people. These four groups
were composed of the Mayas, Aztecs, Incas, and the North Americans. These groups were the same in
many ways, but had some differences that would distinguish their group from the others. These
civilizations ruled the Americas for long period of time. These civilizations were the same in almost
every way, but they had their differences to show that they were a totally different group of people.
The first group that is going to be discussed is the Mayas. The Mayas were thought to be peaceful
stargazers for a long time, but not until recently the truth was ... Show more content on

The Maya script was written in hieroglyphs, which is one of the five basic writing systems ever
developed. This script was made up of phonetic symbols, standing for units of sound, and ideographs,
standing for words. According to Dr. Freidel, amp;#8220;Although the stone writings discuss only
royalty, evidence indicates a cooperative, sacred relationship between the elite and the commoners ;
(Reilly, 329). The Mayas were successful because of this harmony among these people.
The next group of people is the Aztecs. The Aztec civilization was the last of a long line of Native
American civilizations. The Aztecs were the close rivals of the Mayas. Like the Mayas, the Aztecs
also believed in torture and warfare. They also had very strict rules, especially when one was around a
king. For example, one would have to say, amp;#8220;Lord! My Lord! Sublime Lord! ; (Reilly, 331).
After that they would have to communicate in few words, the person would also have to keep their
eyes cast down, and when leaving one would have to walk backwards out of the room. Also like the
Mayas, the Aztecs had an advanced system of irrigation. The Aztecs also believed in sacrifice like the
Mayas. The Aztecs were just like the Mayas, but the were different because they

DNS:
DNS is a protocol with some protocols for computers in exchanging data over the Internet. Its basic job
is to turn a user friendly domain name like google.com into an Internet Protocol (IP) address like
8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for IPv4 that computers use to identify each other on the network.Infact Google
Public DNS is largest DNS service in the world which handles more than 400 billion requests a day.
All the host devices on the internet use an identity which is called an IP Address to establish a
connection with site they are need. With the DNS service, we don t need to remember the whole
bunch of numbers stacked at each decimal point. We just use a DNS server or name server and access
the sites with specific names. And this DNS server ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
STEP 2 :
REQUEST THE DNS SERVERS:
Lets consider the latter case in Step 1, if the information is not stored in local devices, the computer
contacts the Internet Service Providers DNS Servers (in recent times, Recursive DNS Servers). These
computers perform the query on behalf of the user. All the DNS servers have their own caches, so the
query ends when the information is delivered to the user.
STEP 3:
ASK THE ROOT NAME SERVERS:
If the Recursive DNS servers are not able to send the response or they don t have the enough
information for the query, then the Root name servers come into the picture. A name server is a
computer that responds to queries about the Domain names. There are 13 Root Name servers . These
servers act as a bridge in directing the query to answerable resources if it doesn t have enough
information.
STEP 4:
TOP LEVEL DOMAIN:
The Root Name servers will direct the query to the Top Level Domain for the .com which have their
own nameserver set which makes a distinction for TLD. Same as the Root Name servers, they direct
to their servers which have the information.
STEP 5 :
The Top Level domain name servers direct the query specific namerservers. There are Authoritative
servers have the information in DNS records.
STEP 6:
RETRIEVE THE INFORMATION:

The Nonthreatening Rise of China Essay
For the past twenty five years, China has witnessed an overall increase in its domestic growth
(Fischler 148). According to the article, The Rise of China as a Global Power, by Dr. Rosita Dellios,
China is the world s fourth largest trading nation, rising from 32nd in 1978 to 10th in 1997. Similarly,
China s GDP is also second to the United States of America, generating 13 percent of the world s
output (Dellios). Since China s introduction into the World Trade Organization in December 2001, its
average tariff dropped from 41 percent in 1992 to 6 percent in 2001, becoming one of the most open
economies in the world (Dellios). China is also the world s fastest developing economy, obtaining an
annual growth of 9.5 percent through foreign ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Mark Borthwick, its combined population and physical domain have not been equaled
by any other nation. Correspondingly, with impressive geographic dimension and civilizational power,
China is easily able to ascertain a stabilizing influence. Therefore, after decades of exerting only
modest influence, China is now a greater regional actor in Asia (Saunders 127). Rendering from the
article, The Rise of China as a Global Power, the rise of China could represent an alternative to
American global dominance. Whether this alternative is a form of complementary balance like the
Chinese yin yang symbol, or a dangerous competition for global hegemony, has remained a matter of
debate. Nevertheless, according to the source, China s Role in Asia, by Phillip C. Saunders cited by
Shambaugh and Yahuda, China s regional security strategy and a range of diplomatic, military, and
economic assurance measures have had a significant impact in easing Asian concerns about a strong
China (127). Furthermore, Asia has generally shifted from observing China as a threat to viewing
China as a prospect, with Japan being the exception to this trend (Shambaugh and Yahuda 127).
Therefore, the rise of China is not a threat to Asian stability as noted in China s political regime,
military, and economy. First of all, the rise of China is not only nonthreatening but also beneficial to
Asian stability through its political

Summer Camp Descriptive Essay
Summer Camp The bus decelerated to a stop and we were there, Crystal Lake. I wasn t there willingly,
but my parents made me go with my cousin, Sandra. They said that this would help bring me closer to
God, but I think they just needed a break from me. I ve always detested summer camp, especially the
ones from church. The kids from there are always so annoying, and I m forced to put up with them for
a whole week. When we got to the camp, it was about 5:30. The group leaders assigned our cabins,
which consisted of four bunk beds, two dressers, and a small couch. After that, we all went on a hike
and came back for dinner. I was exhausted, and honestly, I was already over it. After, everyone
showered and got settled into their cabins. All ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sun was setting, and the lake sparkled under the remaining sunlight, reflecting the sky s pink and
orange hues. It was beautiful here but i still longed to be home. My thoughts were almost interrupted
when i saw it. There, on the other side of the lake stood the strange woman, staring directly at me.
Are you alright? inquired Sandra. I froze. I didn t know what to tell her. I debated whether or not I
should say something. I stayed quiet for a moment, then, I finally answered her.
Yeah, I m fine why? I replied. Sandra tilted her head and looked at me for a moment.
You seem a little...off. Are you sure you re alright? she asked, once again.
Mhm, I m fine, I told her. She looked at me for a moment then just nodded. I wasn t fine though, I felt
uneasy. When it got later, we went to our cabin, and once again, the girls stayed up talking while I
listened to my music. I turned up the volume all the way and tried, unsuccessfully to get the thought
out of my mind. I wasn t sure why she was there, or if she was even a threat, but the way she just
stood there staring at me creeped me out. The thought kept poking at me so out of curiosity, I went up
to the window and opened the curtains. I examined the forest and searched to see if the woman was
there. I was determined to find her, but she wasn t there. I went back to my bed, but I couldn t fall
asleep. The bed was too hard, the pillow was too soft, the blanket was too thick, but that

Comparison Of Misogyny In The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow By...
In three stories written by, Washington Irving, they all portray him into a man of misogyny. In the
story, The Devil and Tom Walker , disappearing never to return a man s wife takes all their belonging
of worthiness. In the story, Rip Van Winkle , a man tired of his wife is nagging, wanders off into the
woods, vanishing for twenty years. In the story, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow , a man that goes by the
name Broom Bones, brainwashed by womanly charm receives a rude awakening when the woman s
he cherishes picks a different man. Repeatedly, Washington Irving conceived as a woman hater; this
may or may not be true. In the story, The Devil and Tom Walker , a man s wife takes all their
belongings of worthiness, disappearing never to return. More into the story, the man, Tom Walker,
meet the devil, and the evil spirit wanted him to sell his soul. Without a doubt, Tom would have made
lots of money. Consequently, this offer went through his head as he went back to his house. Once
home, he told his wife about the encounter, she wanted him to take the proposal. Once he heard this,
all the thoughts running through his head jumped out. Fortunately, Tom disliked this woman so much
he now would not sell his soul to the evil, because she wanted him to. Therefore, with this the woman
took it into her own hands to get rich off selling her soul. Unfortunately, she took all their most
valuable possession to the black evil man in the woods. No doubt, the way Irving portrays the

  • 3. Learning English As A Foreign Language Introduction This essay will try to explain through the use of research why and how people learn English as a foreign language. Brian Munoz is an example of a student learning English as a foreign language. He was born in Mexico and his first language is Spanish. As well as studying English he has also studied French. Brian has an interest in learning languages and wishes to one day be able to travel to the countries where those languages are spoken. Brian would first like to visit the united states in order to completely immerse himself in English. There are five members of his family, himself, his parents and his siblings. Motivation Brian is both intrinsically and extrinsically motivated to learn English. In an interview he stressed that he thinks English will be necessary in university in order for him to obtain a degree. Brian also stated that he wishes to use his English skills in the future in order to obtain a better job. An intrinsic reason is that Brian has two cousins who speak English that he would like to be able to talk to (Harmer; 2007, pp. 98 104). Learning Style Brian has a highly logical mathematical intelligence. This suggests he is a highly analytical and scientific thinker (Oxford; 2001, pp. 359 366). Brian s style of learning can be particularly well suited to learning grammar and other pattern based aspects of language. He finds when the teacher gives the students a set formula to grammar learning very easy. Teaching Method The Comprehension Based Approach will be best suited for Brian. Brian has stated that he struggles the most with listening comprehension, and this approach emphasizes listening and comprehension (Sauvignon; 2001, pp. 13 28). Student Needs Brian would like to improve his English fluency, especially when listening to spoken English. He is confident in his abilities in other areas such as grammar. A one on one lesson will be designed to help Brian achieve his goals, and strengthen his weaknesses. Language Skills Brian s weak points are in the listening and reading language skills. • 5. Nokia Swot Analysis Essay Nokia is known as one of the world s largest vendors of mobile phones. It is a great communications as well as multinational technology corporation that provides services and equipment regarding telecommunication. It goes without saying that its mobile phones are durable as well as reliable making it rule the mobile market for a long time. However, Android as a competitor had advanced to a level that Nokia features were becoming irrelevant in the global Smartphone market (Becker, Mladenow, Kryvinska, Strauss, 2012). Technology is a drive in the Smartphone industry, each day a discovery is made, and new features that are user friendly are introduced. Nokia and Microsoft could not deny this fact and hence they had to join forces so as to compete fairly with other giants in the Smartphone industry. Moreover, Nokia started losing customers thus they had to strategize on new measures that will enable them to compete fairly on the Smartphone market. Due to this alliance, it is advisable to do an analytical SWOT analysis to come up with a proper view of the brand s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, as well as threats (Deresky, 2013, p. 187). They both had a common goal but they both had a completely different way to achieve that goal. If Napoleon had an idea Snowball would have a completely different idea that would lead in a different way. There are three ways that Napoleon and Snowball were different. First everything Napoleon took part in would benefit himself not the whole Animal Farm. Second was that Napoleon never showed interest in the strength of the Animal Farm but only in the strength of his authority over it. Lastly Napoleon would take more to brute force while Snowball was a very good and persuasive speaker. The first way that Napoleon and snowball were different was that while Napoleon only cared about how everything would benefit himself. Snowball cared nothing about himself and would care only for the benefit of the Animal Farm. One early example of Napoleon s selfishness was when he secretly raised the puppies for his own purpose. Snowball had many different ideas and plans that would lessen the workload upon the animals. Napoleon at first seemed to strongly disagree with all the plans and wanted no part in any of it but then after he got rid of Snowball he brought the ideas all back up and claimed them as his own. Snowball was also a big enthusiast of animalism and wanted it to spread to all the other farms while Napoleon only wanted to be superior ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. How Power Is Used For Concealing Relations Of Power Power is usually described as bad and is mostly discussed by others about the abuse of power however this is not true, power can be used to help or protect individuals, which is exactly what the culture I had observed does. In this essay, I will examine the performances of power that is observed throughout the ritual ceremony, chanting in the Buddhism culture, displaying how the religion is used for concealing relations of power within this definite culture. Through this examination, I will use the theories of Karl Marx (religion as ideology) and Antonio Gramsci (hegemony being concept of power), to support the display of how the power distributes religion. By relating to the definition of power, I argue that, for the members of this community, power is about ease and security no inequality. The first observation that I had seen to our visit to the Fo Guang Shan Temple that stood out to me the most were the Buddha statues. Inside the shrine, in the prayer room, were five large Buddha statues and each wall in the room was occupied with images of small carved Buddha s; both female and male. Along the left side of the five Buddha s, was an image of Male Buddha and on the right side was an image of Female Buddha. There were several drawbacks such as women, slaves, and immigrants not being able to participate in politics. Those involved in the polis were expected to participate in such meetings that dealt with the oversight of the city and its dealings with issues. The Athenian democracy depended on every capable citizen fulfilling his role within the polis. The involvement of all male citizens and the expectation that they should participate actively in the running of the polis is clear in this quote from Thucydides: We alone consider a citizen who does not partake in politics not only one who minds his own business but useless . Ancient Greece is credited with the identification of democracy because of the large scale in which they produced their governing ways. As early as 900 B.C., Greece again expanded contacts with civilizations to the east, and Greek civilization became more complex. The rise of empires, most notably the Athenian Empire, brought a more sophisticated economy, trade, colonization, and war (Curtis). Answer: One of the primary factors that can be attributed as to have led the recent financial crisis is the financial deregulation allowing financial institutions a lot of freedom in the way they operated. The manifestation of this was seen in the form of: a) Financial innovations that were not backed up with adequate risk controls and management. b) Too much reliance on Quantitative Risk Management ultimately leading to mispricing of risk across different financial and non financial investments that were the product of the financial innovations made feasible by financial deregulation. c) The influx of liquidity both original ... Hence one solution is to overcome the incentive problem and the conflict of interests that arise when financial institutions simultaneously undertake financial activities of varied nature. In addition to the above the internal incentive to bank should be reduced by requiring greater capital requirements as well as improving upon the definition of what qualifies to be capital. Further in line with the answer to question 3, risk management systems in financial institutions need to be redefined and strengthened to more comprehensively identify, evaluate, manage and monitor risks. Yes we need to have some form of regulation. The proposed regulation is not bad as it covers most of the recommendations discussed in this write up earlier. In segregation of duties, one person is assigned to a certain task alternately. • 39. Why Did Texas Almost Fail as a Spanish Essay Why Did Texas Almost Fail as a Spanish Colony? Why do the ventures of man fail? The ventures of men fail primarily due to a lack of planning. In the case of Spanish colonies in Texas this holds true. The Spanish first set eyes on the Texas coast in 1519 and in 1821 they lowered their flag for the final time in Texas. The Spanish had about 300 years to try and colonize Texas and the attempt to colonize and settle Texas was not very successful. The initial boats that came to Texas were shipwrecked and only four people survived of the approximately 270 men that made the trip. One of these four survivors was Cabeza De Vaca. Third, the Spanish failed to plan for the hostility of the Comanche and Apache Indians living in the area. Thus, the difficult geography, the weak missions, and hostile Indians were the main causes of the near failure of the Spanish colonies in Texas. The geography, primarily the distances between settled areas in Texas was a real problem for the colonization of Texas by the Spaniards. The Spanish were well established in Mexico City in the south and in New Mexico to the north. However, the distance from Mexico City and the missions in San Antonio was about 700 miles (Doc A). Also, the distance from San Antonio to Santa Fe, New Mexico was about the same distance of 700 miles (Doc A). These were the two closest developed areas to the new colonies. In those days, travel was primarily by mule train and it would take around two months to travel these distances (Doc A). These vast distances made it difficult for trade and made it expensive to transport needed supplies to the newly settled areas. The expense of transportation between settlements lead to very slow economic development and without a chance to make a living people were just not willing to move to the new settlements. In addition to the distances, the land in the area was characterized by very rough terrain and with very little water (Doc A). • 43. Advantages of Grazing Cattle on Public Lands Grazing cattle on public lands can have many advantages. Monetary gain is a large reason why lands are utilized (Council for Agricultural Science, Livestock Grazing on Federal Land). However grazing may be used as a tool for managing rangelands. Grazing could have possibly been the first form of rangeland management other than fire (Frost, Prescription Grazing). With this method, weeds and other undesirable vegetation were targeted to reduce numbers. However, if prescribed incorrectly it could lead to poor conditions for other organisms living in that environment (Frost, Prescription Grazing). Recently there has been a push toward research for the protection of the sage grouse. In this paper we will explore the effects of rangeland grazing and rangeland treatments on the sage grouse and its habitat. The sage grouse, as the name may imply, has a large reliance on the sagebrush. Sage grouse need large areas of sagebrush for cover, feed, and nesting (Patterson, Sage in Wyoming). A study in 1998 on sage grouse nests found higher concentrations of successful sage grouse nests that were located in undisturbed sagebrush sample areas that had thick brush cover and taller canopies (Sveum, Nesting Habitat Selection). In the summer, sage grouse require a variety of components to survive. The bird uses the sagebrush for cover though they also need open area with grasses and forbs for insect feed for their offspring and for mating (Dunn, Adult Female and Juvenile). Over the years, ...
