Special Effect Of Special Effects
Special effects it is an art and techniques that involves many other other crafts, but also included many
dangers and failures when you are about to create a special effect that includes a stunt or an actor there
are always some human elements that increase the possibility of failure. Special effects have
categories and subcategories because they are techniques employed to make staged events to look real,
these basic categories are 1) visual effects 2) mechanical effects 3) makeup effects and each category
has her own subcategory, We used to categorise sound effects but now they generally considered
separate from the definition of the special effects .

At the early 20 s the tricks this is the term that they used to refer as special effects but then it became a
must section in every studio. A studio in Southern California, they but a full set production facilities

it helped the companies to manage the film budget, the set construction and the need to travel to
different locations, also the name of the special artist it was a secret because audience should not know
the tricks that she/he used on the movie.
One of the first classical and well known in history movies that they have used CGIs and introduced
us to various techniques is King Kong there are 3 versions one on 1933 one on 1976 and one on 2005,
the breakthrough was on 1933 because we can see a classic stop motion animations which was created
by Willims O Brien and it was so revolutionary for it s time. The second Version won an academy
award for Special achievement for it s special effects. On 1933 O Brien used the models of Marcel
Delgado to portray a 50 feet tall gorilla. They were like six gorilla miniatures made for the film every
one of them was 18 tall. They used a combination of miniatures and a full size studio set. 43 years
later a new King Kong movie came out and this time they used no stop motion miniature but they
actually used a 40 foot tall mechanical ape made out from

Ludwig Van Beethoven s Influence On The Classical Era
Known as the most influential musician of all time, Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn,
Germany in 1770. Beethoven s talent was noticed at a young age and he soon became a pioneer in the
world of music for breaking the traditional bounds of style and form. Over the course of his life,
Beethoven produced nine symphonies, seven concertos, and a total of forty two sonatas. Although
these numbers are few when compared to other composers such as Joseph Haydn, his work was very
substantial. Ludwig van Beethoven s compositions were greatly influenced by the changes in the
world around him. His ability to stray away from the practices that restrained other composers
inspired musicians around him and changed the practices of music forever. Beethoven lived during
both the Classical and Romantic era. He is widely considered a pivotal figure in the passage from the
Classical era to the Romantic. Composers of the Classical era mirrored the harmony and centrality of
the classical traditions of Greece and Rome (The Classical Period (1775 1825)). Music of Classical
era had very defined movements and focused on form and order (Katherine, Charlton, 2007, p. 124).
People of the Romantic era were inspired by adventure, passion, and themes of nature. Composers of
this era were very passionate and expressed their emotions in their compositions. While listening to
Beethoven s music, the shift from the classical era to the romantic can be clearly heard through
passionate twists other instances

I Believe Vision And College Alumni Into Accelerating...
Introduction
I believe vision promotes and excels college alumni into accelerating career pathways that promote
autonomy, innovation, and leadership expressed independently and as a team. Fostering the next
generation builds the framework for the assumptions relied upon to support the community needs for
career ready hires. In addition, vision aligns personal beliefs and career goals as a career services,
director. I would articulate, steward, and promote this vision to foster alignment with stakeholders
students, parents, and community leaders. In turn, encouraging career goals through exploration
through desires, needs, individual values, behavior and actions. Simply the opportunity to lead in
providing students with tools to make strategic and informed decisions about the career paths.
Articulating a Vision I believe collaborative planning with faculty, career development officers, and
hiring recruiters from a shared governance perspective. In addition, to articulating, developing and
rolling out the vision and prompting feedback to measure those expected outcomes. I would start by
communicating with those who teach, requesting structured curriculum to incorporate career
opportunities relative to their courses. The effective avenues to reach the masses would include
forums, press releases, college open houses, career fairs, website presence, faculty retreats, courses
and college wide updates all areas requiring community/workforce collaboration.

The Big Tax Credits Are More Harmful Than Beneficial Or...
Summary of Problem
Pittsburgh, in recent years, has been trying to reinvent itself as a sort of east coast Hollywood and
raise a more prominent film industry here in the city. This has mainly been done through high tax
credits to filmmakers and film productions, however, some worry these tax credits are more harmful
than beneficial and are wasting tax payer s money. Those who oppose the tax credits fear that the
beneficial attributes to these tax credits are being exaggerated and that there hasn t been a consistent
enough rise in Pittsburgh based film production to account for these high tax credits. This problem is
important because an increase in film production in Pittsburgh would be an excellent source of
revenue for the city and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My Role and Qualifications I will be conducting the interviews, analyzing both sides of this issue, and
proposing the best course of action for Pittsburgh to deal with incentivizing filmmakers without
hurting Pittsburgh and its population. As a filmmaker and someone who is deeply invested in the film
industry, I have a deep appreciation for Pittsburgh trying to build a film industry here, however, as
someone who has lived near Pittsburgh all my life, I need to ensure this isn t hurting Pittsburgh in the
end.
Literature Review Pittsburgh Reinvents Itself as The New Hollywood (2012) This article is incredibly
useful since it talks about the groundworks Pittsburgh has set in place to become the, Tinseltown of
the East . The article shows how, due to the 25% tax credit on films who use more than 60% of their
production budget in Pittsburgh and the skilled inexpensive worker unions present here, the film
industry has a great reason to do production here in Pittsburgh. This article is great at showing what
Pittsburgh s plans were for increasing film production and their hope that, due to these efforts, they

Reasons For Acquisition Or Merger Of The Airlines Essay
Reasons for Acquisition or Merger of the Airlines
1) Capitalization
In the Airline industry, most of the capital goes to its Aircrafts. Aircrafts cost several millions of US
Dollars. It can be purchased brand new but usually it is bought as reconditioned units. Purchase can be
through installment or through lease. Even if the Company wants to serve more air routes, they are
limited by the number and capacity of the Aircraft they have. The Airline industry is in stiff
competition due to the parallel competition in Tourism. That is why every Airline company is
compelled to always upgrade and increase their Aircrafts or they will be pushed out of the market. If
the company lacks capital and investors to do so, they will forced to either sell part of their ownership
or sell its total control to Bigger and more stable companies.
In this case, Asian Spirit which only started as an Airline Cooperative, had limited and small aircrafts
and cannot expand its services to International flights. That is why they needed an Investor who can
materialize such essential development. And thus came, Mr. Alfredo Yao through his Holding
Company, AMY Holdings Inc. which bought total control of Asian Spirit from its founders. 2) Human
Resource
It takes number of years of training before an Airline personnel can be certified to board on an aircraft,
from its Captain down to its service crew. The success or failure of any Airline company lies in the
hands of their personnel on board

Ancient Societies Collapse Research Paper
Throughout history there have been an untold number of societal collapses; some have been studied
completely and others forgotten in history. As time passes and new innovations are created, so are new
paths for collapse. However, the downfalls of the ancient civilizations are also applicable in today s
society. With decades of archaeological and historical research, theories have arisen as to why these
societies collapsed and what humans of today can do to avoid a similar fate.
While many collapses are thought to have occurred from several factors compounding over many
years, most can be attributed to three main issues: the environment, war, and trade. Environmental
changes seem to have the quickest and most drastic affect on civilizations, ... Show more content on

The most likely way that current society will collapse would be a large scale environmental change
that affects a majority of the Earth. In the most dramatic case, if a climate changing event such as a
volcanic eruption or a heat wave occurred, the effects would be catastrophic. If the event affected
enough of the planet, there would be mass starvation that would eventually lead to the downfall of
human civilization. Also, humans affecting the environment with global warming and using up natural
resources such as oil and trees will create an uninhabitable planet. If the environmental change only
affected a small region, other countries would provide aid and attempt to rebuild that society. If trade
were to disintegrate globally, many societies would collapse due to their dependence on imported
goods and the profit from exported items, similar to Pitcairn and Henderson. If trade from one country
stopped, it would not have as much of an effect seeing as all of the countries connected and another
trade system could be created. For example, if trade from a country that produces oil stops, many
countries would suffer without fuel for a short while until another trade route from a different country
began. Due to the economically interconnected nature of the world today, it is unlikely that a collapse
would happen due to shifting trade. Another main factor of collapse is war and societies ending due to
invasions. A modern day war could be taken far enough where entire cities are wiped out and
civilizations destroyed. For example, if the War on Terror is continued for long enough, countless
societies in West Asia could be demolished. Ultimately, any of the aforementioned changes could
cause a collapse, it merely depends on the magnitude and severity of the event, and which places are
afflicted. Other

Inflammation In Chronic Periodontitis
Pathogenesis of chronic inflammation of periodontal diseases: Inflammation is defined as a complex
reaction to injurious agents such as microbes and damaged, usually necrotic, cells. It consists of
vascular responses, migration and activation of leukocytes, and systemic reactions (8). The function of
inflammation is to defend the body against microbial infection, and to repair injured tissues.
Nonetheless, inflammation does have the potential to cause harm (9). Inflammation generally begins
with an acute phase characterized by extravasations of plasma fluid proteins and cells, in particular
neutrophils. The function of these various factors includes the killing and elimination of microbes,
debridement of necrotic tissue and eventually repair and possibly regeneration of damaged tissue. As
the inflammation persists, changing from an acute to a chronic state, additional cellular players
become involved, notably macrophages, mast cells, T cells, B cells, plasma cells, and eosinophils (10).
The inflammatory response in chronic periodontitis includes activation of leucocytes, neutrophils, T
lymphocytes and plasma cells and release of antibodies and chemical mediators such as cytokines,
chemokines, C reactive protein, tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF α), interleukin 1 (IL 1), and
prostaglandins. The lipopolysaccharides are present in the gram ... Show more content on

Theme Of Cruelty In House Of Sand And Fog
The House of Sand and Fog by Andre Dubus III uses the theme of loyalty to show the importance of
acts of cruelty as motivation. Kathy Lazaro, a cleaner, living in California had her home, which she
inherited from her late father, wrongfully taken from her. She goes to the extreme to get it back from
Behrani, a Persian Colonel, who was planning on selling the house to gain a profit. Kathy consistently
shows loyalty to her family when cruel events happen to her. When Kathy s husband, Nick, leaves her
she keeps it from her family to remain loyal to Nick but also to keep them from worrying, she reveals
her inability to handle conflicts. When Kathy s house that she inherited from her father is taken from

Terminally ill patients requests for physician assisted suicide are now a viable possibility. Knowing
the pathways to answering to those patients, as their requests for assisted death persist, is upmost
importance. As of June, 9th 2016 California became the fifth state to allow physician assisted suicide.
The California s End of Life Option Act authorizes any individual 18 years of age or older, who has

While Oregon ranks among the best states in the provisions of excellence of palliative care in 2015
California received a B which revealed an opportunity for improvement (Petrillo, Dzeng, Smith, 2016,

The study also showed that for profit, small and community hospitals had very limited accessibility to
palliative care; and the higher request for physician assisted death came from outpatient facilities. It
has been noted that palliative care practices are extremely low nationwide. Neither primary care
physicians nor specialists who treat terminally ill patients routinely are provided with palliative care
training. These are important facts since statistics show that although most individuals support the
option for a physician assisted suicide the low numbers of actual requests for assisted death reflected
the preference of alternative treatment options. As patients regain the power of making decisions
regarding their care, aggressive pain control measures are put in place; consideration of physician
assisted suicide becomes an avoidable option for a dignified death. Regardless of the views on

How To Write An Essay About The Holocaust
The Holocaust
Everyone looks at the Holocaust as just a time in history to be remembered. That was exactly my

Callaway Golf Company began to take form in 1983, after Ely Reeves Callaway Jr. sold Callaway

The Helmstetter Test Center had two primary uses; it provided an ideal place to custom fit clubs for
the touring pros who used Callaway equipment, and it allowed Callaway R D staff to test new

Callaway s customer service department was viewed as a critical component of the company s overall

Cleopatra Masculinity
Powerful women throughout history have utilized various different tactics to facilitate their rise to
power. One of our eldest and most memorable female rulers known today is Queen Cleopatra VII.
Queen Cleopatra VII accumulated her power through manipulating other powerful people.
Cleopatra had the power of beauty, charm, and intelligence all wrapped around her finger. Various
powerful women attempt to diminish or conceal their femininity in fear of being seen inferior to a
male opponent; Cleopatra however, learned to thrive and relish in her feminine charm and used it as
her ultimate weapon for success in such a male dominant world. Being one of the few female rulers in
the Mediterranean, it was very easy for a woman to be seen as weak and powerless simply due to her
gender. Cleopatra showed that although male rulers may have strength and masculinity to give them a

men came into her life in times of great need of political aid. She sought Julius Caesar in the hope that
he would reinstate the throne she had recently lost. After Julius Caesar s death, Marc Antony served as

Analysis Of Aldous Huxley s Brave New World
The identity of a person is often considered to be synonymous with his culture, whether it be to a
distinct nation, race, or way of thought. However, one of the greatest conflicts a person can endure is
one with himself, when he is caught between the innate desire to belong and a sense of self and
difference from the society that he belongs to. In Aldous Huxley s Brave New World, such is the case
with Bernard Marx. Marx faces the immense dilemma of not fitting in in the greatly socialized and
cohesive civilization that he lives in, the Brave New World. Despite how much Bernard disdains this
world, which he identifies as brainwashed and infantile, he cannot help desiring to belong. Huxley
brilliantly contrasts Marx s hatred of his civilization with his eventual plea to remain a part of it after
his exile is sealed in order to highlight the natural desire of man to belong, regardless of how different
he may feel from his surroundings. While most people in Bernard s world belong to one of a handful
of groups, and are mere copies of identical clones, Bernard is entirely unique. Despite belonging to the
highest caste of Alphas in his society, Bernard lacks both the physical and psychological
characteristics of any Alpha. Unlike everyone else in his caste, Bernard is very small, lacks the
appreciation for trivial games like electromagnetic golf, and most seriously, believes there is more to
an individual than pleasure seeking and his role as a component of

Democratic Party Failure
The Democratic party has become an unmitigated disaster, thanks the Third Way corporatist strategy
implemented by president Obama and the Clintons. Under the leadership president Obama and former
DNC chair debbie Wasserman Schultz the party has lost over 900 state Legislature seats, 69 house
Seats, 13 Senate seats, and 12 governorships. The number of seats lost are unacceptable, despite the
clear disaster many Democrats claim the Party is fine. The more intelligent establishment Democrats
appear willing to move in a Progressive Direction though some of their recent actions have proved
otherwise. In order to save the party progressives must abandon the corrupted DNC and instead align

Why Was Lady Jane Grey
Lady Jane Grey was 16 when she faced the block. Barely having ruled for 9 days she was overthrown
by Queen Mary and forced to resign her title as queen. But what is it that lead her to be overthrown?
Why was she crowned Queen in the first place? As a result because of the countries religious
reformations it is a major point to what lead to Lady Jane s usurpation and her succession battle with
Queen Mary between 1547 1553. Due to that the countries beliefs were split, who would be King
Edward s successor was in everyone s interest especially for the Queen Mary and the Duke of
Northumberland. Because the people of England were on Mary s side it made it harder for who was
the rightful successor which led to a battle for the crown.

Northumberland took control of Jane. The Duke of Northumberland was a very powerful man during
that time, he was the regent, president of the Kings council and one of his son s was married to Lady

King s illness. It was then that it was made clear in the letter that the King would not live beyond
autumn. (Bindoff)Knowing this the Duke knew that if the King died he would lose all his power
because Mary was the next in line for the crown. Knowing that Mary was a strict Catholic he began to
persuade Edward to make Mary and Elizabeth illegitimate to the crown and that Lady Jane would be
his successor. The Royal Council agreed and on the 21st June 1553 an act of parliament was signed

Jonathan Swift Satire Analysis
omparing Irony
In both Mark Twain and Jonathan Swift s articles there is an effective use of irony. Irony in satirical
writing is normally used for the speaker to convey the opposite intended meaning to which they are
stating; along with antiphrasis, the use of a word when the opposite meaning is implied, irony makes a
valuable asset to satirical literature. The sarcastic use of irony was input to both readings to express
the writer s disappointment towards their societies teachings during their era s. The use of antiphrasis
and parody go hand in hand with irony, they allow for a clear comparison between Mark Twain s
Advice to Youth and Jonathan Swift s A Modest Proposal . Using deception through their words, the

Twain also targets authorities and didactics as a whole with this speech, by critiquing the use and
effectiveness of them through parody. A Modest Proposal captures the attention and the trust of the
reader by sounding honest and intellectual. Swift makes it seem as if he is using an academic analysis,
comparing numbers of poverty, working out mathematical equations to depict what poverty will
increase to, and analyzing that there is no better way to work around it except for the solution he has
come up with. A modest proposal uses irony by expressing the solution of eating babies as something
that must happen. Together the sense of urgency and the hopeful buildup give the readers the
perception of an authentic actuality towards Swift s provided quick fix to the problem at hand. The
irony in Swift s proposal is only found after realizing what the solution provided was, which left many
of the readers in the late 17th century shocked at the mention of something so vile. I have been

Why Is Napoleonic Code So Important To The French Revolution
The nineteenth century was one of the most significant era through the human history. Many new
efficient technologies got developed by those outstanding people. Besides those fancy technologies,
new rules and laws got established as well. Although the new rules were nothing but some words on a
document for people to read and follow, but those new acts were as important as the technologies. It
pushed our civilizations forward in a speed of life, it fixed the old problems we used to have. Today I

workers face in the United States. In fact, I completely agree with your statement that even though the
United States agricultural industry heavily depends on the labor migrant farm workers provide, the
men, women, and children performing the work are for the most part seriously underappreciated.
Additionally, you made an extremely interesting point about migrant farm workers who are in the

Earthquake And Earthquakes Essay
4. EXPLAIN THE RISK AND NATURAL HAZARDS EARTHQUAKES AND VOLCANIC
ACTIVITIES. HOW CAN WE PLAN TO CONTROL THESE RISKS?
Earthquakes and volcanoes have disastrous effects on humans and properties, it s also very harmful for
the environment overall including wildlife. Earthquakes cause a lot of damage due their shaking
nature, they can further lead to tsunamis and most common hazard related to earthquakes is
landsliding. The earthquake intensity is what measures the effects it has on land surface, and this
depends on the rock types and actual ground displacements, it s measured by the Mercalli scale and
bases on human reports of damage experienced. It s interesting that earthquakes of the same
magnitude can cause different amounts of damage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Plate tectonic activity is related to many other things like, volcanoes and earthquakes. These natural
hazards can be found in linear belts around the globe. There are seven large plates and many small
ones, the main types of plates include the divergent plate boundary (pulls away), convergent plate
boundary (move towards each other) and transform plate boundary (slide past). Ocean continent
boundaries create earthquakes up 700 km deep and forms seafloor trenches, it leads to andesitic
volcanoes in mountain ranges. Yellowstone is a hot spot this is where heating and igneous activity
occurs within crust. Although, not all plates move at the same rate, they are relative to each other.
Continent continent boundaries with divergent can form rift valleys, earthquakes less than 100 km
deep, and basaltic/rhyolitic volcanoes. At Convergent they have young mountain range, 300 km deep
earthquakes, and no volcanoes. At transform, they have a fault zone, less than 100 km deep
earthquakes and again no volcanoes. With ocean ocean boundaries there is oceanic ridges with rift
valley, less than 100 km earthquakes, and basaltic pillow lavas at divergent. On convergent there are
seafloor trenches, 700 km earthquakes and andesitic volcanoes in island arc. With transform you have
ridges and valleys in oceanic crust, less than 100 km earthquakes, and some basalt. Plates are driven
by the convection in the mantle and movement of the lithosphere.

Reasons For Fuzzy Sets
1 Introduction
1.1 Definition
With the development of culture, communication has become more and more important. In order to
understand each other , most people focus on how to express themselves efficiently, they use language
which is clear and certain. It seems that in this way the meaning can be expressed accurately, while
fuzzy words must be avoided. But a lot of facts have proved that the uses of fuzzy words is very
common in our daily communication.
There are a lot of scholars and linguists try to find out the definition of fuzziness. In 1965,the
American scientist L.A.Zadeh published his famous article Fuzzy Sets on the Information and Control
Magazine . He is the first to raise the theory of fuzzy sets , with the help of this theory, he studied the
fuzzy problems of different aspects. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are different reasons for fuzzy language, but most linguists can not search for the consensus. In
communications, we have to admit that the reasons for fuzzy language are complicated.
1.3.1 Objective Reasons
In objective world , different things, phenomena and features compose the continuum, it is hard to
have a clear borderlines. Since the nature has fuzzy phenomena, language can also be fuzzy. For
example, color and time in nature are continua, people have to divide them into several stages, in the
small hours , morning , noon , afternoon , dusk , evening , night and so on, there is a transition area
between two stages, which leads to the uncertainty of borderline. These words that can express this
category is also fuzzy.
This world is full of mysteries, which makes thoughts complicated and language fuzzy.
1.3.2 Subjective Reasons
People s cognition is based on the partition of things. Nationality s partition of things is related with
the features, cognition and the demand of communication. Different nationality have different way to
know and divide things, such as semantic field about

Weaknesses Of The Articles Of Confederation
The Articles of Confederation were placed as a form of temporary government. However, the Articles
did not address the many problems the United States was having and going to have at the time.
Therefore The Articles of Confederation were one of the weakest forms of functioning governments.
After many years of fighting for independence, America needed a break from any type of government.
Well you see in order to have a functioning country you need some type of functioning government.
When the idea of a government came up many were fearful of what could happen. What if they
resorted back to the old ways? What if all those years of fighting for independence were for nothing?
Congress had to start somewhere. And in November 1777, The Articles of Confederation were
accepted. The Continental Congress adopted the Articles of Confederation, the first constitution of the
United States, on November 5, 1777. The main purpose of the Articles of Confederation was to have
something to hold on to while America set up. However there Articles did not deal very well with state
things. Such as dealing with foreign relations and economic conditions. When accepted the Articles
were only to work under certain conditions. Conditions being those such as not interfering with other
states and their commerce. Or states that had not paid if war debts. Out of fear of becoming their
enemy they thought that it was a good idea. Congress created many departments and one of them was

My Plan for the Chicago Bulls New Season
The Chicago Bulls have been in Chicago, Illinois since 1966 when they joined the NBA as an
expansion team. The Bulls took over the basketball scene in Chicago by winning games and having a
great fan base to come to games. The Chicago Bulls since when they first started playing at Chicago
Stadium dubbed Madhouse on Madison they were winning games and making it to the playoffs. The
Bulls did run into a slump stretching from 1976 till about 1989. Their slump turned around when the
Bulls hired Phil Jackson to be the new head coach after going through 6 coaches before Jackson. They
also had acquired top players such as: Michael Jordan in 1984, Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant in
1987. The Bulls were rebuilding their team and making a plan to keep them from losing revenue and
fans. The Bulls this season went 48 34 and clinched a playoff spot for the thirty third time since
joining the league in 1966. Their season came to end when they lost in game 5 at home to the
Washington Wizards. They were a healthy team at the beginning of the season when Derrick Rose
returned from being out due to knee surgery, but his return did not last long. The Bulls lost their key
player for another season after Rose injured his right knee in November of 2013, a whole year after
injuring his left knee in 2012. The Bulls also lost Luol Deng when he was traded to the Cleveland
Cavaliers for Andrew Bynum, and three future draft picks. The Bulls have struggled over the past few

The Contemporary Woman in 1703 Essay
The Contemporary Woman in 1703
In the poem To the Ladies, Lady Mary Chudleigh demonstrates affinity between wife and servant (1)
through the use of a controlling metaphor. She describes a wife s role by depicting it through ideas that
are strongly associated with slavery. Chudleigh s use of deigning diction, her description of the wife s
submissive actions, and her negative attitude towards the perceived future of a woman who gets
married show the similarity among wife and servant (1). Chudleigh presents this poem as a warning to
women who are not yet married, and as an offering of regret to those who are. Chudleigh s use of
deigning diction is key to understanding her view on the matter of marriage. She emphasizes the word

To use obey again brings us back to the beginning of the poem. This reflection reminds us of the
original meaning of obey, the offering of vows, the beginning of marriage. It is very important to
remind us that we are talking about a wife s servitude and not a slave s. Without this reminder that
Chudleigh is talking about speaking about a wife, the message she is trying to convey is weakened
because we expect this type of servitude from a slave in 1703. You can slip back and forth between
wife and slave because both are treated as possessions and not as people. Chudleigh invites us to see
some interaction between husband and wife. She articulates how submissive a wife can be by saying
that a wife is governed by a nod (15). This demonstrates the simplistic, servant like nature a wife will
exhibit to her husband and his expectations of her submissiveness towards him. The husband expects
his wife to obey him by a nod of his head. This pomposity a husband displays in the way he
acknowledges his wife is recognized in other parts of the poem when he is referred to as law supreme
(6), eastern prince (9) and god (16). The simplicity of a nod is condescending and lowers the
importance of a wife to the value of a servant or slave in 1703. Through the wife s submissive actions
a clear connection is drawn between her and a servant. In the servant/master relationship a servant s
actions toward his/her master are agreeable and passive.

Analysis Of Enrique s Journey The Unforgettable Quest...
Sharmili Lakshmanan
Introduction:
Enrique s Journey recounts the unforgettable quest of a Honduran boy looking for his mother, eleven
years after she is forced to leave her starving family to find work in the United States. Braving
unimaginable peril, often clinging to the sides and tops of freight trains, Enrique travels through
hostile worlds full of thugs, bandits, and corrupt cops. But he pushes forward, relying on his courage,
hope, and the kindness of strangers. He attempts the dangerous journey eight times before he
succeeds. During his first seven attempts, he is severely beaten, robbed, and humiliated. However, he
never gives up. The struggle that Enrique and other immigrant make to reach el norte is harder than
anyone can expect.
Discussion:
To travel north, Enrique, like other migrants, rides the tops of freight trains, a most dangerous
endeavor. The dangers of the trains are many that include both physical and emotional struggles. Not
only are the trains themselves dangerous, but migrants who travel on them must also overcome many
difficulties like migrants can get pulled under the wheels while boarding the moving train, which can
cause them to death. Others fall off the train while it is in motion. Gangs rule the train tops, robbing,
beating, killing, and raping as they please. Both female and male migrants are in continual danger of
rape. Migrants suffer from starvation and dehydration, and are unable to go to the bathroom

The overall problem at Apple Inc. is a stagnant iPhone growth problem due to decreased innovation
and marketing efforts. Apple has hit a static point in its growth and continues to lose market share to
its global competitors while trying to recover and invent the next big product (Seeking Alpha, 2017).
Apple s innovation and marketing efforts have been minimal and thus reflect in the company s
declining global position, pricing and current growth statistics.
Apple Inc. has been stagnant over the past two years despite successful profits, a fast growing

Apple lost valuable market share to Chinese manufacturers Huawei and Oppo, which saw promising
increases in their shares year over year (9to5Mac, 2017). Currently, the iPhone market share is
decreasing in China, the world s second largest economy after the U.S., which can be attributed to new
manufacturers and iPhone users delaying upgrades (9to5Mac, 2017). While all products go through a
product life cycle, Apple has already been through this cycle with at least two products (Forbes, 2016).
Currently, Apple has no backup to replace its vanguard iPhone product. Adding to injury, the
competing Huawei P9 phone compares well against the iPhone 7 and cost 30 percent cheaper than the
iPhone (9to5Mac, 2017). In addition, cheaper android phones that offer everything the iPhone does
and sometimes more at fraction of the price are also gaining market share rapidly (9to5Mac, 2017).

Identity Of The American Identity
The American culture is made up of bits and pieces combined into one American Identity. Throughout
the process of finding this identity, came with courage, religion, and fear. These three concepts
provide compelling examples and experiences that have shaped Americans into the best country there
is. Having courage in life is often half the battle. John Smith encounters so many hardships that prove
he dares to keep pursuing his goal. Eventually, after defeating and beheading a succession of three
Turkish officers in single combat in Rumania, Smith was wounded in battle, taken as a prisoner and
sold into slavery to a Turk. Smith was passed from place to place until held prisoner on the Black Sea,
he murdered his master and fled back to Rumania via Russia and Poland, returning to England in the
winter of 1604 05. (Smith, pp. 82). Most people at this point would typically become slightly
discouraged because he has gotten beaten up and is questioning if he can accomplish this or fail. The
lesson we should take from Smith in this story is that no matter how hard things get if you have a goal
achieve it. There will defiantly be hardships that come your way, but nothing in this life comes easy.
For example, the British encounter many hardships such as hunger, sickness, and unfamiliarity. Being
thrown into adapting to new situations is often hard. The natives saw many things they were not

Artificial Intelligence Is Identified By Many Aspects
AI: Artificial Intelligence Artificial Intelligence is identified by many aspects. Some would say that it
is the ability to mimic or resemble human behavior in all of its forms (Unknown, 2016). What would
the implications of Artificial Intelligence mean to the existing definitions and moral conundrums
people find themselves in. These simple processes to us raise many questions. How is humanity
defined? The ability to communicate ideas, thoughts, or feelings help define humanity and the
perceptions held by them. Lying is the unique ability specific to humanity and is universally
understood as not telling the truth. Note that there are different variations of lies that require some
level of conceptual processing. White Lies are a good example of this, as they represent many
different facets of human thought and emotion. Should the ability to deviate from factual information
be given to Artificial Intelligence and what would the ramifications that can befall a lie. This is a
question that humanity should ask itself, as it should not be left to one person or sect to decide. By
teaching software to lie it can potentially give birth to something that may not be able to understand
the social concept of right and wrong. It only measures information by black and white, fact or fiction,
or navigating the gray area of morality. It would use a hypothetical algorithm that would determine the
information s potential risk. The detrimental implications that Artificial Intelligence has the

  • 3. Ludwig Van Beethoven s Influence On The Classical Era Known as the most influential musician of all time, Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany in 1770. Beethoven s talent was noticed at a young age and he soon became a pioneer in the world of music for breaking the traditional bounds of style and form. Over the course of his life, Beethoven produced nine symphonies, seven concertos, and a total of forty two sonatas. Ludwig van Beethoven s compositions were greatly influenced by the changes in the world around him. His ability to stray away from the practices that restrained other composers inspired musicians around him and changed the practices of music forever. Beethoven lived during both the Classical and Romantic era. He is widely considered a pivotal figure in the passage from the Classical era to the Romantic. Composers of the Classical era mirrored the harmony and centrality of the classical traditions of Greece and Rome (The Classical Period (1775 1825)). Music of Classical era had very defined movements and focused on form and order (Katherine, Charlton, 2007, p. 124). People of the Romantic era were inspired by adventure, passion, and themes of nature. Composers of this era were very passionate and expressed their emotions in their compositions. As a filmmaker and someone who is deeply invested in the film industry, I have a deep appreciation for Pittsburgh trying to build a film industry here, however, as someone who has lived near Pittsburgh all my life, I need to ensure this isn t hurting Pittsburgh in the end. Literature Review Pittsburgh Reinvents Itself as The New Hollywood (2012) This article is incredibly useful since it talks about the groundworks Pittsburgh has set in place to become the, Tinseltown of the East . • 9. Reasons For Acquisition Or Merger Of The Airlines Essay Reasons for Acquisition or Merger of the Airlines 1) Capitalization In the Airline industry, most of the capital goes to its Aircrafts. Aircrafts cost several millions of US Dollars. It can be purchased brand new but usually it is bought as reconditioned units. Purchase can be through installment or through lease. Even if the Company wants to serve more air routes, they are limited by the number and capacity of the Aircraft they have. The Airline industry is in stiff competition due to the parallel competition in Tourism. That is why every Airline company is compelled to always upgrade and increase their Aircrafts or they will be pushed out of the market. If the company lacks capital and investors to do so, they will forced to either sell part of their ownership or sell its total control to Bigger and more stable companies. In this case, Asian Spirit which only started as an Airline Cooperative, had limited and small aircrafts and cannot expand its services to International flights. That is why they needed an Investor who can materialize such essential development. And thus came, Mr. Alfredo Yao through his Holding Company, AMY Holdings Inc. which bought total control of Asian Spirit from its founders. 2) Human Resource It takes number of years of training before an Airline personnel can be certified to board on an aircraft, from its Captain down to its service crew. • 11. Ancient Societies Collapse Research Paper Throughout history there have been an untold number of societal collapses; some have been studied completely and others forgotten in history. As time passes and new innovations are created, so are new paths for collapse. However, the downfalls of the ancient civilizations are also applicable in today s society. With decades of archaeological and historical research, theories have arisen as to why these societies collapsed and what humans of today can do to avoid a similar fate. While many collapses are thought to have occurred from several factors compounding over many years, most can be attributed to three main issues: the environment, war, and trade. Environmental changes seem to have the quickest and most drastic affect on civilizations, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most likely way that current society will collapse would be a large scale environmental change that affects a majority of the Earth. In the most dramatic case, if a climate changing event such as a volcanic eruption or a heat wave occurred, the effects would be catastrophic. If the event affected enough of the planet, there would be mass starvation that would eventually lead to the downfall of human civilization. Also, humans affecting the environment with global warming and using up natural resources such as oil and trees will create an uninhabitable planet. If the environmental change only affected a small region, other countries would provide aid and attempt to rebuild that society. If trade were to disintegrate globally, many societies would collapse due to their dependence on imported goods and the profit from exported items, similar to Pitcairn and Henderson. If trade from one country stopped, it would not have as much of an effect seeing as all of the countries connected and another trade system could be created. For example, if trade from a country that produces oil stops, many countries would suffer without fuel for a short while until another trade route from a different country began. Due to the economically interconnected nature of the world today, it is unlikely that a collapse would happen due to shifting trade. Another main factor of collapse is war and societies ending due to invasions. A modern day war could be taken far enough where entire cities are wiped out and civilizations destroyed. For example, if the War on Terror is continued for long enough, countless societies in West Asia could be demolished. Ultimately, any of the aforementioned changes could cause a collapse, it merely depends on the magnitude and severity of the event, and which places are afflicted. Other ... • 12. Inflammation In Chronic Periodontitis Pathogenesis of chronic inflammation of periodontal diseases: Inflammation is defined as a complex reaction to injurious agents such as microbes and damaged, usually necrotic, cells. It consists of vascular responses, migration and activation of leukocytes, and systemic reactions (8). The function of inflammation is to defend the body against microbial infection, and to repair injured tissues. Nonetheless, inflammation does have the potential to cause harm (9). Inflammation generally begins with an acute phase characterized by extravasations of plasma fluid proteins and cells, in particular neutrophils. The function of these various factors includes the killing and elimination of microbes, debridement of necrotic tissue and eventually repair and possibly regeneration of damaged tissue. As the inflammation persists, changing from an acute to a chronic state, additional cellular players become involved, notably macrophages, mast cells, T cells, B cells, plasma cells, and eosinophils (10). The inflammatory response in chronic periodontitis includes activation of leucocytes, neutrophils, T lymphocytes and plasma cells and release of antibodies and chemical mediators such as cytokines, chemokines, C reactive protein, tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF α), interleukin 1 (IL 1), and prostaglandins. • 20. Analysis Of Aldous Huxley s Brave New World The identity of a person is often considered to be synonymous with his culture, whether it be to a distinct nation, race, or way of thought. However, one of the greatest conflicts a person can endure is one with himself, when he is caught between the innate desire to belong and a sense of self and difference from the society that he belongs to. In Aldous Huxley s Brave New World, such is the case with Bernard Marx. Marx faces the immense dilemma of not fitting in in the greatly socialized and cohesive civilization that he lives in, the Brave New World. Despite how much Bernard disdains this world, which he identifies as brainwashed and infantile, he cannot help desiring to belong. Huxley brilliantly contrasts Marx s hatred of his civilization with his eventual plea to remain a part of it after his exile is sealed in order to highlight the natural desire of man to belong, regardless of how different he may feel from his surroundings. While most people in Bernard s world belong to one of a handful of groups, and are mere copies of identical clones, Bernard is entirely unique. Despite belonging to the highest caste of Alphas in his society, Bernard lacks both the physical and psychological characteristics of any Alpha. Unlike everyone else in his caste, Bernard is very small, lacks the appreciation for trivial games like electromagnetic golf, and most seriously, believes there is more to an individual than pleasure seeking and his role as a component of ... The earthquake intensity is what measures the effects it has on land surface, and this depends on the rock types and actual ground displacements, it s measured by the Mercalli scale and bases on human reports of damage experienced. It s interesting that earthquakes of the same magnitude can cause different amounts of damage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Plate tectonic activity is related to many other things like, volcanoes and earthquakes. These natural hazards can be found in linear belts around the globe. There are seven large plates and many small ones, the main types of plates include the divergent plate boundary (pulls away), convergent plate boundary (move towards each other) and transform plate boundary (slide past). Ocean continent boundaries create earthquakes up 700 km deep and forms seafloor trenches, it leads to andesitic volcanoes in mountain ranges. Yellowstone is a hot spot this is where heating and igneous activity occurs within crust. Although, not all plates move at the same rate, they are relative to each other. Continent continent boundaries with divergent can form rift valleys, earthquakes less than 100 km deep, and basaltic/rhyolitic volcanoes. At Convergent they have young mountain range, 300 km deep earthquakes, and no volcanoes. At transform, they have a fault zone, less than 100 km deep earthquakes and again no volcanoes. With ocean ocean boundaries there is oceanic ridges with rift valley, less than 100 km earthquakes, and basaltic pillow lavas at divergent. On convergent there are seafloor trenches, 700 km earthquakes and andesitic volcanoes in island arc. With transform you have ridges and valleys in oceanic crust, less than 100 km earthquakes, and some basalt. Plates are driven by the convection in the mantle and movement of the lithosphere. 6. In order to understand each other , most people focus on how to express themselves efficiently, they use language which is clear and certain. It seems that in this way the meaning can be expressed accurately, while fuzzy words must be avoided. But a lot of facts have proved that the uses of fuzzy words is very common in our daily communication. There are a lot of scholars and linguists try to find out the definition of fuzziness. In 1965,the American scientist L.A.Zadeh published his famous article Fuzzy Sets on the Information and Control Magazine . He is the first to raise the theory of fuzzy sets , with the help of this theory, he studied the fuzzy problems of different aspects. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are different reasons for fuzzy language, but most linguists can not search for the consensus. In communications, we have to admit that the reasons for fuzzy language are complicated. 1.3.1 Objective Reasons In objective world , different things, phenomena and features compose the continuum, it is hard to have a clear borderlines. Since the nature has fuzzy phenomena, language can also be fuzzy. For example, color and time in nature are continua, people have to divide them into several stages, in the small hours , morning , noon , afternoon , dusk , evening , night and so on, there is a transition area between two stages, which leads to the uncertainty of borderline. These words that can express this category is also fuzzy. This world is full of mysteries, which makes thoughts complicated and language fuzzy. 1.3.2 Subjective Reasons People s cognition is based on the partition of things. Nationality s partition of things is related with the features, cognition and the demand of communication. Different nationality have different way to know and divide things, such as semantic field about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Weaknesses Of The Articles Of Confederation The Articles of Confederation were placed as a form of temporary government. However, the Articles did not address the many problems the United States was having and going to have at the time. Therefore The Articles of Confederation were one of the weakest forms of functioning governments. After many years of fighting for independence, America needed a break from any type of government. Well you see in order to have a functioning country you need some type of functioning government. When the idea of a government came up many were fearful of what could happen. What if they resorted back to the old ways? What if all those years of fighting for independence were for nothing? Congress had to start somewhere. And in November 1777, The Articles of Confederation were accepted. The Continental Congress adopted the Articles of Confederation, the first constitution of the United States, on November 5, 1777. The main purpose of the Articles of Confederation was to have something to hold on to while America set up. However there Articles did not deal very well with state things. Such as dealing with foreign relations and economic conditions. When accepted the Articles were only to work under certain conditions. Conditions being those such as not interfering with other states and their commerce. Or states that had not paid if war debts. Out of fear of becoming their enemy they thought that it was a good idea. Congress created many departments and one of them was the Department of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. The Contemporary Woman in 1703 Essay The Contemporary Woman in 1703 In the poem To the Ladies, Lady Mary Chudleigh demonstrates affinity between wife and servant (1) through the use of a controlling metaphor. She describes a wife s role by depicting it through ideas that are strongly associated with slavery. Chudleigh s use of deigning diction, her description of the wife s submissive actions, and her negative attitude towards the perceived future of a woman who gets married show the similarity among wife and servant (1). Chudleigh presents this poem as a warning to women who are not yet married, and as an offering of regret to those who are. Chudleigh s use of deigning diction is key to understanding her view on the matter of marriage. She emphasizes the word ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To use obey again brings us back to the beginning of the poem. This reflection reminds us of the original meaning of obey, the offering of vows, the beginning of marriage. It is very important to remind us that we are talking about a wife s servitude and not a slave s. Without this reminder that Chudleigh is talking about speaking about a wife, the message she is trying to convey is weakened because we expect this type of servitude from a slave in 1703. You can slip back and forth between wife and slave because both are treated as possessions and not as people. Chudleigh invites us to see some interaction between husband and wife. She articulates how submissive a wife can be by saying that a wife is governed by a nod (15). This demonstrates the simplistic, servant like nature a wife will exhibit to her husband and his expectations of her submissiveness towards him. The husband expects his wife to obey him by a nod of his head. This pomposity a husband displays in the way he acknowledges his wife is recognized in other parts of the poem when he is referred to as law supreme (6), eastern prince (9) and god (16). The simplicity of a nod is condescending and lowers the importance of a wife to the value of a servant or slave in 1703. Through the wife s submissive actions a clear connection is drawn between her and a servant. In the servant/master relationship a servant s actions toward his/her master are agreeable and passive. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Apple has hit a static point in its growth and continues to lose market share to its global competitors while trying to recover and invent the next big product (Seeking Alpha, 2017). Apple s innovation and marketing efforts have been minimal and thus reflect in the company s declining global position, pricing and current growth statistics. Apple Inc. has been stagnant over the past two years despite successful profits, a fast growing dividend, and over $130 billion worth of share repurchases (Wall Street Journal, 2016). Apple lost valuable market share to Chinese manufacturers Huawei and Oppo, which saw promising increases in their shares year over year (9to5Mac, 2017). Currently, the iPhone market share is decreasing in China, the world s second largest economy after the U.S., which can be attributed to new manufacturers and iPhone users delaying upgrades (9to5Mac, 2017). While all products go through a product life cycle, Apple has already been through this cycle with at least two products (Forbes, 2016). Currently, Apple has no backup to replace its vanguard iPhone product. Adding to injury, the competing Huawei P9 phone compares well against the iPhone 7 and cost 30 percent cheaper than the iPhone (9to5Mac, 2017). In addition, cheaper android phones that offer everything the iPhone does and sometimes more at fraction of the price are also gaining market share rapidly (9to5Mac, 2017). Throughout the process of finding this identity, came with courage, religion, and fear. These three concepts provide compelling examples and experiences that have shaped Americans into the best country there is. Having courage in life is often half the battle. John Smith encounters so many hardships that prove he dares to keep pursuing his goal. Eventually, after defeating and beheading a succession of three Turkish officers in single combat in Rumania, Smith was wounded in battle, taken as a prisoner and sold into slavery to a Turk. Smith was passed from place to place until held prisoner on the Black Sea, he murdered his master and fled back to Rumania via Russia and Poland, returning to England in the winter of 1604 05. (Smith, pp. 82). Most people at this point would typically become slightly discouraged because he has gotten beaten up and is questioning if he can accomplish this or fail. The lesson we should take from Smith in this story is that no matter how hard things get if you have a goal achieve it. There will defiantly be hardships that come your way, but nothing in this life comes easy. For example, the British encounter many hardships such as hunger, sickness, and unfamiliarity. Some would say that it is the ability to mimic or resemble human behavior in all of its forms (Unknown, 2016). What would the implications of Artificial Intelligence mean to the existing definitions and moral conundrums people find themselves in. These simple processes to us raise many questions. How is humanity defined? The ability to communicate ideas, thoughts, or feelings help define humanity and the perceptions held by them. Lying is the unique ability specific to humanity and is universally understood as not telling the truth. Note that there are different variations of lies that require some level of conceptual processing. White Lies are a good example of this, as they represent many different facets of human thought and emotion. Should the ability to deviate from factual information be given to Artificial Intelligence and what would the ramifications that can befall a lie. This is a question that humanity should ask itself, as it should not be left to one person or sect to decide. By teaching software to lie it can potentially give birth to something that may not be able to understand the social concept of right and wrong. It only measures information by black and white, fact or fiction, or navigating the gray area of morality. It would use a hypothetical algorithm that would determine the information s potential risk.
