Phoenix Water Quality
The city of Phoenix provides drinking water to more than 1.5 million Phoenix residents within 540
square mile service area. 95 % of Phoenix s water are sourced from surface water (lakes and rivers)
and the remaining water comes from groundwater (wells). In May of each year, the city of Phoenix
distribute and post a water quality report that contains important information about the quality of
Phoenix water (Phoenix s water quality, n.d.). Water hardness is one of the important info revealed in
the Phoenix water quality report, which I would like to discuss it. Simply hardness is the amount of
dissolved calcium and magnesium in the water. Hardness impacts the water quality throughout the
aesthetic acceptability (calcium, magnesium, and dissolved solids concentration) by consumers. Since

As a result, clothes laundered in hard water may look dirty and feel harsh and scratchy. Hard water
causes a film and scale deposit builds upon glass shower doors, shower walls, bathtubs, sinks, and

system) resulting in energy consumption increment and water flow reduction as the pipes become
clogged with the scale (Braff, D., 2012, April 25). There is no Primary or Secondary standard for
water hardness issued by EPA. Also, hardness has no health risk, as a matter of fact, drinking hard
water generally adds a small amount toward total calcium and magnesium human nutritional needs.

Something Wicked This Way Come Analysis
Symbolism can be presented as both people or things and can be used to lead up into something
greater, such as the theme it s holding up. Two friends, Jim and Will, go to a carnival full of evil
trickery. The carnival is lead by Mr. Dark. Mr. Dark, intimidates people and inspires fear when he
wishes. Jim and Will go on to take down Mr. Dark only to find out that it s not up to them to take
down Mr. Dark but Charles s. Themes and symbols are both important in stories. Something Wicked
This Way comes is no exception. Two of the many themes in the story are the power of love and
identity. Three symbols that go with the power of love are the bullet shot by Charles, the hug given to

Essay about Meaning and Identity in Public Art
Meaning and Identity in Public Art While visiting the Capitol Square, I felt like I had stepped back
into an ancient
Greek culture. From the colossal pillars supporting the building to the bronze statues of
Greek goddesses among our war heroes it is easy to mistake the Capitol building for a
Greek temple. I want to share with you what the architecture communicated to me, what the subject of
the art was that I observed, and why the building was placed where it now stands. Anyone who
possesses basic knowledge about ancient Greece could surely see the similarities between Greek
temples and the Capitol building. There is even an inscription on the Capitol building stating it is a
Greek revival structure . The building has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What all this detail says to me is that this is a place where powerful people work and where many
important functions of the city take place. I gain a sense that whoever is employed here has a great
deal of wealth, be it in knowledge or money, and tremendous authority. The Greeks saw their rulers as
being next to godliness, and in a way, the people who work here are our rulers. The subject of the art
that I observed had a theme of peace, war, nobility, and discovery. The first statue I saw was a large
monument made of bronze and marble. The monument featured Ulysses S. Grant, James A. Garfield,
Phillip Sheridan, William T.
Sherman, Rutherford B. Hayes, Salmon Chase, and Edwin Stanton standing under a
Greek goddess (who resembles Ceres because she is surrounded by bushels of wheat and grains) with
a quote under her that says These are my jewels . These men were by far the greatest men to come
from Ohio and just like the Greeks who cast their heroes in bronze, so have we cast our heroes for all
to see in bronze at the Capitol. The next monument I saw was a huge angel in bronze that included an
inscription about peace.
Then, on another side of the building, there are two monuments to the soldiers that went to fight at
Iwo Jima. These walls contain etched letters from various soldiers, some of them are happy letters
while others are very sad. There seemed to be many monuments to war than anything else. The
monuments about war

Beauty are greatly reinvented from the original fairytales Sun, Moon, and Talia and Snow White and
the Seven Dwarfs because of the brutal nature of the treatment women in these original forms.
Although there are differences in certain aspects from the original tales to the movies, there are many

High Schools And Public Schools
Growing up in a district area is much more different in many ways than growing up in a big city,
where people have more guidance and facilities in almost every part of life than people living in any
small town or district. The part of the country where I grew up had separated schools for girl and boys.
Co education was not common. The population was between 0.2 million to 0.3 million. There were
few elementary public schools and public high schools. Peoples education was really effected by the
social culture, and by a lot of authorities negligence of the law. A part of the district area where I grew
up is called Hangu. It was a man dominated society. It was the notion that an education is more
important for a man than a woman. It was the traditional belief that education is more important for
men then a women because men need to have an education to get a job, to establish his own business,
to understand and deal with the people, and to take care of his family. It was a dominated traditional
belief that women should have a direct in social life and be in charge of the house, doing chores, and
raising up children. However, it was also the notion that women should have an enough education to
read and write and understand what is right and wrong, so that they help and involve in their children

being killed, Phineas was immediately able to sit up and speak, and after the wound healed he returned

How The Ussr Is Still Haunting Europe Essay
How the USSR is Still Haunting Europe
After twenty six years, the nations that were granted independence from the Russian Federation are
still dealing with the affects of the fallout; In particular, Russia s European neighbor, Ukraine. In an
article dated September 29th, from the Russian News Agency TASS, it gives an overview of the recent
implications of the civil war in the Donbass region. Russia and Germany are urging the Ukrainian
Government to follow the Minsk Protocol, in order to keep peace and maintain a working relationship
between all the countries listed on the agreement (TASS 2016). There has been constant conflict in the
Donbass region since the beginning of 2014, with times of cease fire, but nothing significant. The
conflict is a result of the Russian demographic in Eastern Ukraine, wanting separation from a Western
influenced Ukraine. This paper will examine the geographical aspect of this relationship and how it
has affected the conflict.
How History and Geography have Played a Role

Analysis Of The Story Red Convertible The Two Brothers
In the short story Red Convertible the two brothers, as close as they are, you really never know how
someone is or feels or acts unless you truly know what they ve been through or if you are them and
have gone through what they ve been through. The brother have always been close they re whole life
but the split really changes one. Lyman and Henry really have a true connection with each other. The
car they bought together without really thinking twice about it and they shared it really just shows us
that the brothers have a stronger bond then most because they were both broke they spent every dollar
they had on the car, both of them. Another example in the story that shows us the bond they have is
when they pick up Susie the hitchhiker and they ask her where to? And she says Alaska. The two
brothers almost immediately say lets go, no second questions and in the new car they just got. They
are both in sync with each other. The trip is really important to the relationship of Lyman and Henry
because they get there and they stay for a little bit where the unpredictable growth of plants is just
crazy and the cold weather but they bond through it and Susie s family puts up a tent in the backyard
for them. Just in the matter of how they both are just friendly buys them a ticket to stay with Susie s
family, the kids also just are always playing with them, that shows us that they are really great people
to be around because of the friendly bond they have with each other. The fact

The Importance Of Listening And Recommend Best Practices
Evaluate the Importance of Listening to Recommend Best Practices I. What is a Leader: You may
have heard the question of where do leaders come from. The answer to this question is perhaps vague
and it seem to be a more difficult question than most may think. From a topic of vagueness comes a
variety of answers. However, the best thing about it, all the answers could possibly be correct. Leaders

Scanlans difficulty to be effective was not because he did not possess the ability to listen but he
allowed bias of a situation to selectively, not hear what his peers were trying to convey. Scanlan
(2011) goes on to say that, people are confused about listening most of the time. Moreover, the
confusion prevents the focus and distorts the direction as well as vision. In today s business,
environments where individuals are more concerned with the level of multitasking and listening
becomes necessary only when someone requests. However, one does not have to be a manager of the
organization to understand the importance of listening. Perhaps even in a family one could attest that
listening is perhaps one of the most difficult aspects of making decisions effectively (Scanlan, 2011).
III. Passive Listening You may be familiar with passive listening, passive listening is where an is
involved in a conversation however, multitasking by listening to several different conversations or
events happening in the background (Bell Smith, 2010; Jennings, 2012). There has been perhaps a
number of times you have slipped into this passive state of attention it seems as if you are actively
listening to a conversation but truly, there are other things happening that seem to be more worthy of
your attention (Jennings, 2012; Scanlan, 2011). For example, have you ever had to sit through a board

The Three Major Theories Explaining the Extinction of the
Dinosaurs
There are many theories explaining the extinction of the dinosaur. The Most probable theories are: a
massive meteor hit the earth causing the extinction. B. A chain of volcano s erupted and caused acid
rain, shortage of sunlight and any other number of atmospheric problems that brought about the
extinction of dinosaurs. C. Rapid Climate Change in a short period of time would have brought the
dinosaurs to extinction because of an inability to evolve to the new environment. All these theories are
possible but it is clear that it was a combination of all three theories working together that produced a
worldwide extinction event.

Examples Of Sorrow In A Mercy
Sorrow: suffering from loss or afflliction; feeling grief, sadness, or regret. Everyone has experienced a
time of sorrow in their lives, a time where they struggled through life because of something drastic
that happened to them. In the novel, A Mercy, by Toni Morrison, a mysterious character goes beyond
the simple feeling of sorrow. Toni Morrison decides to name one of her characters Sorrow, adding a
much deeper side of the character. Toni Morrison s use of figurative speech throughout the book helps
show Sorrow s dynamism into someone different, letting the audience learn that not everyone is who
they always seem to be. In the novel, Sorrow is presented to the audience as a mysterious slave, who
is pretty much useless. Sorrow first joined the household after being adopted by Jacob Vaark. Not
much is known about her because she was found along the shore with little background information.

Toni Morrison s uses of figurative speech helped deepen the feelings that Sorrow felt. In the
beginning, Sorrow was seen as a unusual character who seemed very incapable of doing anything. She
was a useless person around the house who could not do anything right. As the book continued,
Sorrow s life started to open up. The audience starts to see Sorrow s life, with power ful words that
they can relate to. They started to see the devastation that Sorrow felt when she lost a child, even
though she barely knew how to take care of anything. Sorrow may not be able to do anything but she
knows what love is. All her life, that is what she strived for: the love of her own baby that she did not
get to experience before. But with her new baby, Sorrow s life became

dimension addresses how people define themselves and their relationships with others. Cultures that
fall on the individualism side of the continuum share four characteristics. First, such cultures consider
the individual to be the most important entity in any social setting. Second, individualistic cultures
stress independence rather than dependence. Third, individualistic cultures reward individual
achievement. The last characteristic is; individualistic cultures value each individual s uniqueness.

Research Paper On Domes
In the beginning a lot of people thought they were going to die. Hi I m Maddie Baker and I am a
survivor of a horrible event. In 2020 all the national newsgroups were afraid their systems were
picking up evidence of a 75 mile wide meteorite coming towards Earth. They said the meteorite would
not get to earth for another year or two. They also said it was possible for the meteorite to hit Mars or
another planet before it got to Earth. I was 16 years old at the time and I felt like my life was over
already. I was convinced the we were going to die until the news said, A man named Jim Wipan is
trying to make domes for people to live at if the meteorite hits Earth. He is willing to pay for them all
to be built. The only downfall is he is saying that you will have to bring 20 gallons of water and it cost
2500 dollars just as a tuition. Later you would have to pay up to 8000 dollars.
While I was listening to the news I was thinking what if my family and I could get a dome. Then the
TV said how much the domes cost. Also I have a family of four that means we would have to bring 80
gallons of water. Then I thought what if we make our one domes.
We can make our own domes, my dad said.

How To Create Suspense In Hitchcock s Rear Window
The movie that I chose to critique is Rear Window, a realist film by Alfred Hitchcock produced in
1954. Starring James Stewart, Grace Kelly and, Wendell Corey. The genre is thriller and the sub genre
is suspense infused with mystery. Rear Window is one of Alfred Hitchcock s most inspired audience
participation films. When a person watches it, he feels, tantalized, shocked, and exhilarated. Further in
this essay, I will summarize the plots, discuss the styles used, and deconstruct parts of the film.
Jeff the protagonist is a photographer who broke one of his legs and is sitting in a wheel chair by his
apartment window. Having nothing to do, Jeff gets really bored. He starts to peek at his neighbors

Alfred Hitchcock, the director points it out to the audience as he concentrates on Jeff focusing on what
s happening inside his neighborhood. He allows the audience to stay focused as we become voyeurs
and see the various dramas that are being unfolded. Hitchcock has great technical brilliance with a
great ability to portray a story in a very distinctive manner. He uses the technique of dramatic
variation of size to achieve other desired emotions from the audience, by cutting from long shots to
extreme close ups. The story line in the film revolves around voyeurism, guilt, friendship, and
sexuality. Moreover, the editing techniques in the film are used to raise attention to the events that are
unfolding in front of us. The shots in the movie are connected in a relatively subjective style.
According to Hitchcock Cutting should not be thought of in terms of cutting but rather in terms more
like assembly or Mosaic (Hitchcok, 1963, p.4). Montage, is the process or technique of selecting and
piecing together separate sections of film to form a continuous whole. When two shots are juxtaposed
in such a way it gives the third another meaning. This is one classic examples of Alfred Hitchcock s
way of thinking. The use voyeurism in the film makes the audience conscious of why the protagonist
is behaving in a certain

Infertility Treatments Are Necessary in Today s Society Essay
Infertility Treatments: Is it Ethical?
In recent years, several factors have altered the definition of a family. We live in a time where careers,
education, and work are now put before starting a family, making it more difficult to have children.
The traditional family archetype has changed with a rise in single and homosexual parenting. This
change, even though it is a positive one, can result in several people being unable to bear children.
Infertility treatments have become a popular choice for these people who cannot have children. These
treatments have become popular in books, movies, and other forms, which has brought attention to the

Those who are infertile may feel distressed that they are not able to become a parent, especially if it is
one of their life goals. Infertility treatments are vital in giving infertile people the chance to fulfill their
lives with a family.
Infertility treatments need to be available simply for the reason that they are helpful for people whose
health conditions inhibit them from producing a child of their own. According to the CDC, 6% of
married women are infertile and 11% of women have troubles getting pregnant. (CDC). They are also
beneficial to single women and men facing infertility issues. People that are infertile may have
problems with reproductive organs, hormonal glands, or genetic disorders that impede on these

shown that infertility has negative emotional and psychological effects on a person facing infertility.
People dealing with infertility often feel depressed, distressed, as if they were grieving a loss.

Choosing The Role Of Privatization In The United States
Privatization:
Public services provided by the government can get very expensive. In order to help reduce/eliminate
these high prices some governments choose the option of privatization. Privatization is mainly selling
a public service to a private company, making the service no longer under the government s control.
Public services such as, electric utility companies, health care, highway repair and upkeep, and as well
as water have been privatized around the world. The advocates of privatization highly believe that this
is an important trade liberalization reform. These advocates believe that privatization will lower taxes
because tax payers no longer have to pay for this service. Advocates believe that the competition from

A Search Warrant For Criminal Activity
A search warrant is a signed order by a judge/magistrate that authorizes the police to search specific
locations in order to seize specified items during a specific time frame. The searches are typically
intended to search locations seize evidence in relation to probable cause that the suspects are engaged
in criminal activity, are about to engage in criminal activity or had engaged in criminal activity. The
concept for search warrants originates from the 4th Amendment which states The right of the people to
be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures,
shall not be violated; and no Warrants shall issue but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or
affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be
seized. The Fourth Amendment can be broken down into two sections. The first section is considered
the reasonableness clause where it states that unreasonable searches and seizures are prohibited. The
next section is the warrant clause which specifies the requirements and limits of searches and seizures.
Through these clauses, the 4th Amendment is designed to protect the people from unreasonable
searches and seizures. In order to obtain a search warrant, the police must show probable cause that a
crime was committed and that evidence of that crime is likely to exist at the specified location. The
police typically present their application for a search warrant to a neutral

Christians Should Not Press their Beliefs upon their Society
The stupidity of people amazes me. This is not to say that I am the smartest person or anything but it
still seems like adults, some having obtained several college degrees, would stop to think before they
opened their mouths. That these geniuses would put down their own personal views and beliefs long
enough to see the clear and logical answer. Instead, they are clouded by their ingrained thought and
thus cannot give an unbiased opinion. Julius R. Oppenheimer is a perfect example. This exemplary
theoretical physicist and scholar was man was quoted by theologian and philosopher Francis Schaeffer
as saying: Christianity is just a person s personal belief, while modern science is a fact. Christians
should not press their beliefs upon their society. I cannot begin to state how much this statement
boggles my mind. He not only states that his personal beliefs or lack thereof, are proof against
Christianity but that the unproven scientific theories that he holds are fact. The argument here is not
against his beliefs but against his unwaveringness towards those of others.
His statement that Christianity is just a personal belief is quite true. However this is what I find to be
utterly ridiculous: Oppenheimer doesn t even leave room for a person s personal belief to also be the
truth; he wants it to stay a fairytale invented to make us idiots happy. As if for some reason there has
to be a clear line between personal and religious beliefs. Anyone in there right mind

How Subversive Approaches Influence Others Align With An...
This week s case study has this author postulating if the use of subversive approaches to influence
others align with an individual s moral compass. Within this week s case study, this author is asked to
examine a situation where James O Keefe, a conservative activist, meets with the senior fundraiser for
National Public Radio (NPR), Ron Schiller, to discuss a potential donation of $5 million from an
ethnic organization. Unbeknownst to Schiller, his meeting with O Keefe was secretly recorded and
after imaginative alteration, is released, causing a tarnished reflection on not only Schiller, but NPR.
NPR could be considered a grass roots approach to community communication. As a non profit,
member supported platform, NPR provides stimulation for logical thinking, discussion, and even
question. Moreover, according to NPR (n.d) the organization is guided by accountability and
transparency in order to maintain credibility. As such, due to the blemish caused by O Keefe s
subversive approach to what seemed to be driven by a desire to halt federal money filtering into NPR
for broadcasting purposes, both NPR s chief executive and Schiller resigned. Merriam Webster (n.d.)
defines subversion as the secret act of ruining or destroying. Subversive tactics have been utilized by
individuals, organizations, and governments to sabotage or weaken individual and organizational
structures. Is it morally right to do so? Does this form of sabotage justify the means to an end? Who s

Expansion of the Eurozone
Expansion of the EUROZONE
Introduction
The euro zone which is officially called the euro area consists of 17 countries. In other words, it
consists of countries which are also part of the European Union. The European Union consists of
approximately 27 member states. For a country to be a member of the euro zone it is necessary for it
to be a member of the European Union. A single currency was introduced as a result of European
union reforms and the currency was named as the Euro . Those countries which adopted the Euro as
their currency by giving up their local currencies became the member states of the Euro Zones. These
countries include: Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland,
Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain.
The Monetary policy of all the member states is the responsibility of the European Central Bank,
which is indirectly a part and parcel of the president of the bank and includes a central board of
European Bank which includes heads of national central banks. Though, some countries were granted
special permission under agreements with the European Union to use the Euro as their currency and
print them on their own but they did not become a member of the Euro zone as their monetary policies
were not under the control of the European Central Bank. These states that use the Euro as their
currency but do not form part of the Euro zone are called the micro states.

Death Of A Salesman Quote Analysis
To begin, in the book Death of a Salesman, written by Arthur Miller, three symbols were used to
depict Willys feelings and how lost Willy is at times. Miller wrote about stockings, which is a symbol
of betrayal and letting down his family due to the affair. You gave her Mama s stockings (Miller 94).
This quote displays how let down Biff was when he found out that Willy gave the random woman a
piece of his mother s clothing. The stockings were the start of Willy s downfall. Furthermore, the other
symbol used in Death of a Salesman was seeds.

Phoenix Water Quality The city of Phoenix provides drinking water to more than 1.5 million Phoenix residents within 540 square mile service area. 95 % of Phoenix s water are sourced from surface water (lakes and rivers) and the remaining water comes from groundwater (wells). In May of each year, the city of Phoenix distribute and post a water quality report that contains important information about the quality of Phoenix water (Phoenix s water quality, n.d.). Water hardness is one of the important info revealed in the Phoenix water quality report, which I would like to discuss it. Hard water causes a film and scale deposit builds upon glass shower doors, shower walls, bathtubs, sinks, and faucets. Furthermore, scale deposit builds up in a water heater and in the pipe system (distributing system) resulting in energy consumption increment and water flow reduction as the pipes become clogged with the scale (Braff, D., 2012, April 25). There is no Primary or Secondary standard for water hardness issued by EPA. Also, hardness has no health risk, as a matter of fact, drinking hard water generally adds a small amount toward total calcium and magnesium human nutritional needs. • 3. Something Wicked This Way Come Analysis Symbolism can be presented as both people or things and can be used to lead up into something greater, such as the theme it s holding up. Two friends, Jim and Will, go to a carnival full of evil trickery. The carnival is lead by Mr. Dark. Mr. Dark, intimidates people and inspires fear when he wishes. Jim and Will go on to take down Mr. Dark only to find out that it s not up to them to take down Mr. Dark but Charles s. Themes and symbols are both important in stories. Something Wicked This Way comes is no exception. Two of the many themes in the story are the power of love and identity. Three symbols that go with the power of love are the bullet shot by Charles, the hug given to Mr. Dark by Charles and Will. (Bradbury 161) Miss Foley hated her age and her appearance and rode the carousel in hope of becoming young again but was greatly deceived as she had lost all she had. The mirror maze showed one s own resent for his own appearance, Charles was the realization of youth as a mindset and not a physical state, and the carousel was the unaccepting of one s own fate. Another one of the many themes found in the book is the power of love, the ability to defeat any negative obstacle and give people the courage and strength. • 4. Essay about Meaning and Identity in Public Art Meaning and Identity in Public Art While visiting the Capitol Square, I felt like I had stepped back into an ancient Greek culture. From the colossal pillars supporting the building to the bronze statues of Greek goddesses among our war heroes it is easy to mistake the Capitol building for a Greek temple. I want to share with you what the architecture communicated to me, what the subject of the art was that I observed, and why the building was placed where it now stands. Anyone who possesses basic knowledge about ancient Greece could surely see the similarities between Greek temples and the Capitol building. There is even an inscription on the Capitol building stating it is a Greek revival structure . The building has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What all this detail says to me is that this is a place where powerful people work and where many important functions of the city take place. I gain a sense that whoever is employed here has a great deal of wealth, be it in knowledge or money, and tremendous authority. The Greeks saw their rulers as being next to godliness, and in a way, the people who work here are our rulers. The subject of the art that I observed had a theme of peace, war, nobility, and discovery. The first statue I saw was a large monument made of bronze and marble. The monument featured Ulysses S. Grant, James A. Garfield, Phillip Sheridan, William T. Sherman, Rutherford B. Hayes, Salmon Chase, and Edwin Stanton standing under a Greek goddess (who resembles Ceres because she is surrounded by bushels of wheat and grains) with a quote under her that says These are my jewels . These men were by far the greatest men to come from Ohio and just like the Greeks who cast their heroes in bronze, so have we cast our heroes for all to see in bronze at the Capitol. The next monument I saw was a huge angel in bronze that included an inscription about peace. Then, on another side of the building, there are two monuments to the soldiers that went to fight at Iwo Jima. These walls contain etched letters from various soldiers, some of them are happy letters while others are very sad. There seemed to be many monuments to war than anything else. The monuments about war ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rear Window is one of Alfred Hitchcock s most inspired audience participation films. When a person watches it, he feels, tantalized, shocked, and exhilarated. Further in this essay, I will summarize the plots, discuss the styles used, and deconstruct parts of the film. Jeff the protagonist is a photographer who broke one of his legs and is sitting in a wheel chair by his apartment window. Having nothing to do, Jeff gets really bored. He starts to peek at his neighbors from his rear window. With his eyes he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Alfred Hitchcock, the director points it out to the audience as he concentrates on Jeff focusing on what s happening inside his neighborhood. He allows the audience to stay focused as we become voyeurs and see the various dramas that are being unfolded. Hitchcock has great technical brilliance with a great ability to portray a story in a very distinctive manner. He uses the technique of dramatic variation of size to achieve other desired emotions from the audience, by cutting from long shots to extreme close ups. The story line in the film revolves around voyeurism, guilt, friendship, and sexuality. Moreover, the editing techniques in the film are used to raise attention to the events that are unfolding in front of us. The shots in the movie are connected in a relatively subjective style. According to Hitchcock Cutting should not be thought of in terms of cutting but rather in terms more like assembly or Mosaic (Hitchcok, 1963, p.4). Montage, is the process or technique of selecting and piecing together separate sections of film to form a continuous whole. When two shots are juxtaposed in such a way it gives the third another meaning. This is one classic examples of Alfred Hitchcock s way of thinking. The use voyeurism in the film makes the audience conscious of why the protagonist is behaving in a certain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Christians Should Not Press their Beliefs upon their Society The stupidity of people amazes me. This is not to say that I am the smartest person or anything but it still seems like adults, some having obtained several college degrees, would stop to think before they opened their mouths. That these geniuses would put down their own personal views and beliefs long enough to see the clear and logical answer. Instead, they are clouded by their ingrained thought and thus cannot give an unbiased opinion. Julius R. Oppenheimer is a perfect example. This exemplary theoretical physicist and scholar was man was quoted by theologian and philosopher Francis Schaeffer as saying: Christianity is just a person s personal belief, while modern science is a fact. Christians should not press their beliefs upon their society. I cannot begin to state how much this statement boggles my mind. He not only states that his personal beliefs or lack thereof, are proof against Christianity but that the unproven scientific theories that he holds are fact. The argument here is not against his beliefs but against his unwaveringness towards those of others. His statement that Christianity is just a personal belief is quite true. However this is what I find to be utterly ridiculous: Oppenheimer doesn t even leave room for a person s personal belief to also be the truth; he wants it to stay a fairytale invented to make us idiots happy. As if for some reason there has to be a clear line between personal and religious beliefs. Anyone in there right mind ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. How Subversive Approaches Influence Others Align With An... This week s case study has this author postulating if the use of subversive approaches to influence others align with an individual s moral compass. Within this week s case study, this author is asked to examine a situation where James O Keefe, a conservative activist, meets with the senior fundraiser for National Public Radio (NPR), Ron Schiller, to discuss a potential donation of $5 million from an ethnic organization. Unbeknownst to Schiller, his meeting with O Keefe was secretly recorded and after imaginative alteration, is released, causing a tarnished reflection on not only Schiller, but NPR. NPR could be considered a grass roots approach to community communication. As a non profit, member supported platform, NPR provides stimulation for logical thinking, discussion, and even question. Moreover, according to NPR (n.d) the organization is guided by accountability and transparency in order to maintain credibility. As such, due to the blemish caused by O Keefe s subversive approach to what seemed to be driven by a desire to halt federal money filtering into NPR for broadcasting purposes, both NPR s chief executive and Schiller resigned. Merriam Webster (n.d.) defines subversion as the secret act of ruining or destroying. Subversive tactics have been utilized by individuals, organizations, and governments to sabotage or weaken individual and organizational structures. Is it morally right to do so? Does this form of sabotage justify the means to an end? Who s to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
