 V2V, V2I, V2X.
GNSS is the core element of the positioning unit:
 multi-constellation/-frequency, wideband Galileo
signals, high accurate positioning techniques (PPP/RTK).
Cooperative positioning could
be an enabler

1. To develop of an innovative close-to-market GNSS-based
On-Board-Unit suitable for fully automated driving and/or
cooperative positioning.
2. The receiver shall leverage the E-GNSS differentiators.
E.g. Multi-frequency (E1/E5 or E1/E5/E6), very wide-band (E5 AltBOC)
and pilot signals, OS-NMA, Galileo HA/PPP, etc.
3. The developed receiver shall be cost efficient and shall be
compliant with the specific application constraints.
Objectives of the CfP
• Expand the base of automated use cases, by
eliminating/reducing the system dependency on:
‒ Infrastructure (straight highway vs. crowded urban mobility with
intersections)
‒ Operational environment (Open Sky, Urban canyon, etc.)
‒ Weather conditions (rain, snow, fog, etc.)
• Demonstrate the benefit of cooperative
positioning in support of full driving automation.

08. Enhanced rx for autonomous driving navigation

  • 2. Safety-critical applications are those applications whose failure or malfunction may result in death/ injury to humans, in damages to objects (e.g. vehicles or properties) or to environment. ‒ E.g. Autonomous driving Safety-Critical applications 2

  • 4. 4 Hybridisation is the key for success for positioning engine Source: NovAtel Sensor fusion is a de-facto standard:  IMU, Radar/LIDAR, Camera, etc. Communication is also an essential element:  V2V, V2I, V2X. GNSS is the core element of the positioning unit:  multi-constellation/-frequency, wideband Galileo signals, high accurate positioning techniques (PPP/RTK).

Cooperative positioning could be an enabler 5 Connectivity can support the exchange of large amount of data which can be used to improve positioning (V2V, V2I, V2X) In Cooperative ITS vehicles, infrastructure elements, and other road users are location- aware and can communicate critical information to others around them.   • 6. 6 1. To develop of an innovative close-to-market GNSS-based On-Board-Unit suitable for fully automated driving and/or cooperative positioning. 2. The receiver shall leverage the E-GNSS differentiators. E.g. Multi-frequency (E1/E5 or E1/E5/E6), very wide-band (E5 AltBOC) and pilot signals, OS-NMA, Galileo HA/PPP, etc. 3. The developed receiver shall be cost efficient and shall be compliant with the specific application constraints. Objectives of the CfP
  • 7. • Expand the base of automated use cases, by eliminating/reducing the system dependency on: ‒ Infrastructure (straight highway vs. crowded urban mobility with intersections) ‒ Operational environment (Open Sky, Urban canyon, etc.) ‒ Weather conditions (rain, snow, fog, etc.) • Demonstrate the benefit of cooperative positioning in support of full driving automation.
