Clical Reasoning as Described by Neistdadt
AccoIntroduction The aim of this essay is to explore the Clinical reasoning thinking frame as
described by Neistadt (1996). Clinical reasoning is a set of skill performed by occupational
therapists which are central to practice and involved throughout the Occupational therapy process
(Neistadt, 1996, AOTA, 2008). This will be done in relation to our case study of which the
protagonist is Hugh, a 70 year old widower and retired baker, who was managing well an episode
of depression but has recently been found apathetic, unwashed and in soiled clothes by the public
mental health nurse, and referred to see an occupational therapist.
Narrative Reasoning
The first element of this process we will discuss is narrative reasoning which concerns itself with
the construction and subsequent analysis of the client s occupational story (Neistadt, 1996,
Duncan, 2006). This process is developed through allowing the client the opportunity to create a
narrative image through story telling, this can manifest itself in an adumbration of their life
experience and how it has been altered through disability, disease or transition (Duncan, 2006,
Neistadt, 1996). The importance for a practitioner to explore the client s narrative is not only in
the development of their story but it also gives the therapist insight into the person and a possible
future for them (Higgs, 2008). The use of certain assessments can be particularly effective in the
development of a client s narrative, one of which being

How Does Mark Twain Use Satire In Huckleberry Finn
The Satiric Adventure Through Mark Twain s South Satire is the use of comedy, exaggeration and
ridicule to criticize people for what they do, what they create, or who they are. Mark Twain uses
extensive satire in his novel to depict what he thought the ideology of the South was during this
time. Twain denounces many staples of Southern life, during the time period of the book. Racism,
religion, and family feuds were substances able to be found anywhere in the South. Twain chooses
to excoriate these things because his opinions on these topics vary vastly from what the common
mentality was in the South. Perhaps one of Mark Twains most satirized topics in The Adventures of
Huckleberry Finnis racism. In his novel one of the most racist characters is Huck s father Pap. Pap
gets frustrated when a black person is more educated than him or has nicer clothes. Call this a
govment!...there was a free nigger there (Twain 36). This quote tells the reader that Pap thinks part
of the reason the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The specific feud in the novel is between the Grangerfords and the Shepherdsons. These two
families have been fighting so long that the current generation do not even know why they are
fighting one another. Did you want to kill him, Buck? Well, I bet I did. What did he do to you?
Him? He never done nothing to me. Well, then, what did you want to kill him for? Why, nothing
only it s on account of the feud (Twain 118). There are two things Twain could have been trying
to portray. The Hatfields and Mccoys had a feud in the South for several years which directly
mirrors the book. The feud could also represent the bigger Civil War that has just ended in Twain
s time of writing the novel. The senseless violence and extremely high death toll, the Civil War
was a silly war in Mark Twain s eyes as by the end not one side really won. It just abolished the
thing that should have ended decades

Compare And Contrast Bbkar And Babasaheb Ambedkar
When we talked about the famous Indian leader, Mahatma Gandhi will be the first person that
comes to most people mind. However, there are other many leaders that also played the
important roles in reforming India. One of them is Babasaheb Ambedkar. If I have to compare
both of them with the warlord, I would say that Gandhi is like the warlord who fight peacefully
for the country liberation, while Babasaheb Ambedkar is like the warlord who fight for equality
and justice in the country. To be honest, it is very shameful that I have never known Ambedkar
before. Since after I have read his biography and what he had done, he suddenly became one of
my idols. Bhimrao or Babasaheb Ambedkar was born on April 14, 1891 at Mhow in central India.
Different from Ghandi who belonged to the merchant caste, Bhimrao was born in a religious Mahar
family... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ambedkar saw untouchability as the additional product of caste system, and believed that there
could not be any uplift or relief from untouchability if there were not the abolition of caste.
Moreover, Ambedkar believed that the caste system was actually a division of labourers which
simply meant that the caste system is the basis of assigning occupations. This caused a stagnant
economy in communities because the system did not allow people to have other professional
skills and entered other professions outside the caste group. He said that fixity of occupations
hindered the growth and development of the Indian economy and the society. In his thought, people
should do the work that is best suited to them to gain the most efficient or else this would lead to
immobility of both labour and capital. It could be said that Ambedkar was a challenge to Hinduism.
By contrast, Gandhi was a devoted Hindu. He thought that the responsibility of eliminating
untouchability should depend on the upper caste. Gandhi goal was not to annihilate the

The Threat Of The War Against Terrorism
As the world evolves new threats appear and some stand by what they believe in. These beliefs
cause harm to other people. An example this would be, big military forces trying to prove a point
by killing innocent civilian lives. This is where the Counter Terrorism forces comes into play. Such
as the United StatesSeal team six, United kingdom S.A.S and Kopassus Gultor 81. They seek out
those who do wrong and bring them to justice. The only problem is that they need to have a
stronger force to be able to do their job more effectively and perform well in urban areas. By
having a larger force, Many countries can work together in helping the innocent lives of people by
getting information of these terror acts. Most recently in Brussel... Show more content on

This would help to find terrorists and prevent any atrocities from happening and it ll most definitely
lead to the people who planned any attacks. This is why countries should put aside their problems
and work together to fight terrorism to many innocent lives are being lost. The biggest problem
America faces is terrorism. Polls from December 2 6 2015 show that terrorism was 16% of
Americans biggest concerns (Cook). This goes to show that terrorism is a problem not only for
the American people but the entire world. Countries can start by improving their homeland
security. After the United states was attacked on September 11, they did major adjustments to
Homeland Security, such as improving screening for passenger bags at airports. Advanced
passenger information and name record data to be able to find high value targets if they ever try
board on any plane. Many things the United States have improved on the European countries
should improve on too, especially with many terrorists making fake passports and using those to
pass any airport. Also with German Chancellor Angela Merkel allowing refugees to come to
Europe, it should be a necessity to have strict policies on passports. With Germany being the
dominant country bringing refugees, mostly from Syria. That is why most countries who accept
refugees should enforce their passports policy and give the refugees special identification, this
should increase the security and address any issues countries

Analyzing Fouquet s Character
Our character is Fouquet, a character with a casual, yet important personality. In the very
beginning of the book, Fouquet is not mentioned at all. It s not until Chapter 10 that he is even
mentioned, and becomes a character of importance in Chapter 11. From there on, he seems to
hold a role in every chapter. The book provides minimal descriptions of Fouquet s physical
appearance, so we are only left to infer most of the details. The first small detail that is given
through the book, is in Chapter 10 on page 88. Though not directly stated, we came to the
conclusion that Fouquet is an older man. This is also backed up by the fact that Fouquet is
extremely wealthy (meaning he had more time to gain his wealth). As for Fouquet s personality,
details are almost always directly given. The most important detail of his personality that plays a
big role throughout the book is the fact that he is loyal to the king. This aspect first shows up in
Chapter 11, on page 93. In a conversation with Aramis, Fouquet reveals that he views the king as
sacred than ever and dear . Earlier in the conversation, Fouquet also states... Show more content on

The hat with a white feather in it altogether signifies honor, tying to the trait that Fouquet is a man
of honor. The feather signifies both humbleness and loyalty. Humbleness is shown through the fact
that the feather is small, and not gaudy. Loyalty is shown through the white color of the feather,
as white is known to signify loyalty. All in all, Fouquet s personality shows very well throughout
the book; and holds strong roles in his actions. Though his physical appearance is not directly
mentioned, we believe his personality is really what takes the greatest stance in Fouquet s role
anyway. He remains humble when the topic of wealth is brought up, remains loyal when speaking
of the king, and remains a man of honor in any

The Between Politics, Media, And The Public Sphere
From a historical perception, Matthias Karmasin, Gabriele Melischek, Josef Seethaler and Romy
Wöhlert (2013) believe it is evident that communication has led and still leads to war (ix). From
the written and unwritten rituals of mutual respect and disrespect to the definition of legitimate
violence and manipulation of the culture of war, mass mediahas dramatically influenced social,
political, and economic societies (Karmasin et al, 2013) In their collection of works submitted by
members of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA),
Karmasin et al. (2013) follow the thesis that there is a duality between the changes in warfare and
the possibilities of communicating events (ix). The book is broken into three parts: the first focuses
on propagandaand acceptance of war; part two explores the changing relationship between politics,
media, and the public sphere; and the last portion of the book covers the postmodern war and
modern journalism. However, the book begins with an overview of war, the media and the public
sphere.
Philip Seib (2013) examines war and the media in a way that stimulates thinking about how war s
place within the public sphere is influenced by media, and how the definition of news media has
expanded (3). The main driving point behind Sieb s introduction is that the media has retreated
from its proper place within the public sphere, which is to monitor discourse and encourage a
broad array of voices to participate in debate

Sexual Harassment In The Crucible
At the moment, Hollywood actors are falling left and right. After decades of silence, victims of
sexual harassment have gained the courage to confront their harassers and accuse them. This
movement all began with actresses Ashley Judd and Rose McGowan, who accused the well known
Hollywood mogul, Harvey Weinstein, of sexual harassmentfrom two decades ago in a detailed
timeline in the New York Times article, Harvey Weinstein Paid off Sexual Harassment Accusers for
Decades written by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey. Following this accusation, several others began
to make sexaul harassment accusations against other popular actors. This movement quickly gained
momentum, however others have tried to discredit the accusers and are calling this a modern day
witch hunt. This movement creates a parallel to the 1692 Salem Witch Trials in Salem,
Massachusetts, written about in the play The Crucible by Arthur Miller. In the play,

to be practicing witchcraft. This event quickly spiraled into a continuous loop of accusation after
accusation. Several townspeople began to make claims and charge people, mostly women, on the
account of witchcraft, with insufficient evidence. However, the accusers were able to prosper
because of their political and religious climate. In a similar way, in present day, Ashley Judd and
Rose McGowan, accusations against Harvey Weinstein led to several other actresses/actors to come
out and reveal their own stories of sexual harassment and accuse other celebrities or film set
workers. However, in modern time, most accusations are believed and perpetrators are facing
consequences but during the witch trials, all accusations were firmly believed, although accusations

Effect of Terrorism on a Country
Effects of Terrorism to a Country Terrorism affects a country in many ways. They affect the
economy and the population living in that country. Economical effect Financial Market There is no
doubt among economists that wars, terrorism and political instability have a significant negative
effects on the economies in which they take place. Recent economic literature investigates both the
consequences of political violence and the mechanisms that transform this violence into economic
damage. The economy of the country will drop rapidly. An example of the September 11 attack had
significant economic repercussions for the United States and world markets. The New York Stock

The attacks were regarded by some as particularly disturbing to children, in part because of the
frequency with which the images were replayed on television. Many schools closed early,
especially those with children whose parents worked in Washington, D.C. and NYC. During the
Air India Flight 182 Terrorist attack, the bomb on Flight 182 killed all 22 crew and 307
passengers, including 82 minors. Post accident medical reports graphically illustrated the
outcomes of the passengers and crew. Of the 329 persons on board, 131 bodies were recovered;
198 were lost at sea. The bodies recovered included 30 children. Eight bodies exhibited flail
pattern injuries, indicating that they exited the aircraft before it had hit the water. This, in turn,
was a sign that the airplane had broken up in mid air. Twenty six bodies, including twelve
children, showed signs of hypoxia (lack of oxygen). Twenty five bodies, mostly victims who
were seated near windows, showed signs of explosive decompression. This included seven
children. Twenty three bodies had signs of injuries from a vertical force . Twenty one passengers

Pros And Cons Of Male Birth Control
The first birth control pill was developed in the 1960s, and women became the primary target for
birth control. There are so many different birth control methods that have been developed for
women. According, to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, some of the birth control
being present includes IUDs, injectable, the pill, patch, rings, diaphragm, female condoms, sponge,
spermicide, and fertility awareness based methods. Within time I believe many people were also
possibly optimistic for a male birth controlto coming through as well. The male contraceptive for

The male birth control may possibly deliver a contraception substitute for many intentions. Elaine
Lissner founded the Male Contraceptive Information Project (MCIP) in the late 1980 s to track
progress and raise awareness of male contraception.
If you have 10 percent (or even 1 percent of men using contraceptive method, you can make a
huge difference in unintended pregnancy, says Lissner. You also get a lot of women out from
under a lot of side effects from hormonal methods (Mack 2011). In my own person opinion I
believe the millennial generation is more welcoming to having positive forms of male
contraceptive presented for the near feature. These days equal responsibilities are being
implemented by more couples as times have changed the outcomes are now affecting the birth
control marketplace. There has been foundation funding RISUG (aka Vasa Gel) developing in
hopes for this long term reversible male birth control option (Watson and Conger). The new gel
form contraceptive that profoundly lowers sperm count is currently in progress. The procedure
involves making a small incision in each scrotum through which the small vas deferens duct is
pulled for the direct injections. So far RISUG has proven to be effective, safe and reversible with
a second injection (Mack 2011). Also there are other methods that are also being developed such as
Plant based pill which are non hormonal options, dry orgasm pill based on medications that restrict
sperm from becoming semen thus orgasm occurs but ejaculation does not. Some moderate heat or
ultrasound on the testicles is noninvasive and relatively simple ways of inhibiting sperm production

Research Paper On Tupac Shakur
Tupac Amaru Shakur was a very influential person who overcame many difficulties. Tupac was a
rapper of truth that spoke about the things that go on in the Hood and the unjust police. He was
treated differently because he was black and was even arrested for jaywalking. After he was
arrested he was beaten by the cops who wanted him to learn his place (Joseph 29). This shows
how bad Tupac had it because he was African American. Tupac died an early death at 25 because
of a brewing rivalry between the East and West Coast rappers. Shakur was a person who would
stand up for what he believed in no matter the cost and died fighting for that. He never let anyone
win a battle that he was determined to win and always knew what he was fighting for. His mother
was the same, as a loyal member of the Black Panther Party, a group that protected all African
Americans from police brutality. Tupac was literally born to be a fighter and carried on his mother
s legacy. Despite his rough life, Tupac Shakurbecame one of the most influential rappers of all time.
Tupac Shakur was born on June 16th, 1971, with the name Lesane Crooks. His name was switched
to Tupac Amaru II almost a year later. He was born in New York and lived primarily in Harlem till
he was 13. In 1984 he moved to Baltimore where he lived for four years until he moved to Oakland.

States. Many Americans feel that capital punishmentis wrong. It is hard for people to fathom the

across the board in our justice system. This is an argument that has caught the eye of many Civil
Rights unions. It has been said that with the use of capital punishment, violent crimes will be

the rates of violent crimes have been reduced. The opposition argues that capital punishment does

Book Of Jeremiah Research Paper
However, to embrace the exiles from Judah in their circumstances and reflect on the message of
God spoken through the Prophet Jeremiah found in 29:10 14 one must know the circumstances that
led up to the Babylonian destruction of Judah and the oppression of the kingdom s people as exiles.
One must know the destruction before one may see the grace of God bestowed upon the people in a
message of renewal, restoration and salvation. Judah, the southern kingdom, came under threat
from the Babylonians during the time of Jeremiah the Prophetwhich was from 628 until 586 B.C.E.

In chapter 29, one hears Jeremiah say to accept servitude to the Babylonians. The Judeans have
come under punishment from God for their sins. They have received the punishment due to them
according to God and their lives it seems at this point are at the hands of their enemies the
Babylonians even though their fate is in God s hands. Jeremiah continues to speak out
prophetically fighting against those who are false prophets who are intent on telling the people
warm and fuzzy lies to cover up and deny the brokenness that has caused them to be in exile. God
has spoken to Jeremiah of why Judah must be in exile, why Judah must come to terms with what
has happened to them. Jeremiah knows God wants Judah to turn and repent for turning away from
God but the people do not listen to Jeremiah. When the people finally listen to Jeremiah they are
already in exile in Babylonia. Jeremiah must send letters to proclaim God s Word to them.
Jeremiah was one of those who were left behind in Judah. Jeremiah was left behind seeing the
destruction of Jeremiah s homeland first hand. Jeremiah has been deemed the weeping prophet
because of Jeremiah s deep care and love for the people of Judah and for God. Jeremiah feels not
only the grief God experiences for having to destroy the people but Jeremiah feels the grief of
the people being destroyed. Jeremiah weeps in chapter 9 because Jeremiah knows what is
coming. But on the other hand, Jeremiah wanted to see the truth of God s reality come to
fruition because Jeremiah knew of God s great love for God s people. The ethos Jeremiah uses in
the prophetic word Jeremiah speaks is genuine and in no way false as the words of the false
prophet, Hananiah when Hananiah spoke saying the exile would only last two years (Jer

the fluidity of sexuality has enabled people to better understand and acknowledge those around

categorizing certain traits and behaviors with gender is seen in The New York Times article, My

In Beard s article, she discusses the argument of how the ancient Romans viewed the Vestal
Virgins. Beard states that, Yes, it is obviously the case that religion may reflect the gender
differences and categories operating within society more generally; it is obviously the case, too,
that any system of religious symbolism may in part be constructed out of (or parasitic on)
gender categories defined in the wider cultural world (Beard 169). The statement that Beard
makes relays the idea that both tradition, religion, and society plays a role in the standards that
we give to boys and girls. In relation to how the binary gender system works within society, the
New York Times article relays this concept that Beard discusses about how gender differences
and categories have influence on other aspects of society. In the article, Davis writes that, She is
not gender nonconforming. She is gender role nonconforming. She does not fit into the mold that
we adults who have increasingly eschewed millenniums old gender roles ourselves, as women
work outside the home and men participate in the domestic sphere still impose upon our children
(Davis 2). The pressure to conform and embody society s norm enables people to label others
wrong if they do not fit in the narrow definition of what it means to be a girl

The Motif of Poverty Throughout Crime and Punishment by...
Poverty is an essential motif in Crime and Punishment that enables characters to expose their
isolation from society. Raskolnikov demonstrates the true effect that poverty can have on an
unemployed man in the 1860s. Razumikhin is seen as Raskolnikov s foil character that reacts to
his form of poverty in the opposite way of Raskolnikov towards society. The weight of being
desperately pour effects Marmeledov to extensive lengths that ultimately ends in his death.
Crime and Punishment revolves around Raskolnikov and his amplifying guilt after he murders the
pawnbroker, Alyona. From the beginning of the novel his poverty is displayed in his living
condition, which is further described by the yellowish dusty wall paper peeling off the ... Show

It shall not be, so long as I am alive, it shall not, it shall not! I won t accept it! (Part 1. 4.).
Raskolnikov begins to alienate himself from his ex colleague, Razumikhin, although at points it is
Razumikhin who supports Raskolnikov the most. It forces Razumikhin to replace Raskolnikov in
situations that should have been left to his authority. In a situation where Raskolnikov should have
reassured Dounia and Pulcheria of their safety he waved his hand weakly to Razumikhin to cut
short the flow of warm and incoherent consolations he was addressing to his mother and sister
(Part 3. 1). As Raskolnikov began to slowly move away from any form of comfortable socialization
and a growing poverty situation, his stubbornness to contain his pride and dignity eventually builds
up to the brutal murder of Alyona.
Razumikhin is in a similar financial situation as Raskolnikov. Razumikhin foils Raskolnikov in his
response to a desperate situation such as struggling poverty. He faced his struggles with a trial and
error personality. His view stood that you never reach any truth without making fourteen mistakes
and very likely a hundred and fourteen (Part 3. 1). It was in these positive outlooks that make
Raskolnikov realize how intense his isolation was becoming.

The World Of The Continent Of Africa
There are millions of people who are known worldwide for several of reasons. Each and every
day I hear about different people from the different countries who have played a part in American
history and also who have made a difference in the world. This semester I took on a different
course. Not only because I had too but because I wanted to learn more about my African culture.
The continent of Africais viewed by many was a poor and out of control country. I have learned so
much in this class about Africa as a whole that I love being able to talk to others about what I

Drones Bad
Drones are widely discussed if there good or bad for the environment around them or if
In one way arguments are saying they could say that drones are peaceful and they help spot
dangers with their camera and that they could help spot terrorist attacks earlier. But in the other
argument, they say that they could say drones are a danger up high to pilots and that they can be
used to spy on people. But this is why drones are bad for society and that they can be used for a lot
of scary stuff that can be used against you.
One reason why People need to get rid of drones is that they can spy on people. They can be used
to spy on borders and they will think that People are spying on them because People don t trust

It can also be a possibility if a person gets something bad inside of your body or an infection in
your skin. They can also confuse or crash into pilots and if it s a passenger plane it can kill a lot
of people and it s more likely because other countries have them. Another reason that people need
to get rid of drones is because they can be used for terrorist attacks. They could attach something
to the drone so it can be used to attack us harshly and people wouldn t even see it coming. They
can be used really harshly against us and it could eventually start the third war and it can be
more dangerous because of all the technologically and because of small drones. Drones are hard to
see so that s why it can be dangerous for all countries and can lead to fewer allies for United states
because people could also use it or they can become more week.
Drones could be used to stop terrorist attacks and they could spy on killers and where terrorist

Democracy, Demagoguery, And Critical Rhetoric

Demagoguery
Throughout history, when it comes to a national crisis, many leaders and politicians tend to
advance towards what the people want to hear. In order to gain their audience s support, most
political leaders and public speakers use the practice of demagoguery to have useful influence held
towards their argument. In Patricia Roberts Miller s article Democracy, Demagoguery, and Critical
Rhetoric, analyzes what demagoguery is and how it affects the audience. Speakers or authoritative
figures that engage with demagoguery use strategies such as scapegoating and polarization in order
to establish a separation between in groups and out groups; in groups tend to form hateful
discrimination on out groups and define them with negative features. An example of
demagoguery that Roberts Miller uses is in Adolf Hitler s speech about how he wanted German
people to change their views and beliefs on the Jewish. Her article however, also consists of
several fallacies and may seem somewhat unethical. Throughout Wayne LaPierre s speech on the
Newtown Tragedy in 2012, there is usage of what Roberts Miller claims to be demagoguery.
Wayne LaPierre is the Vice President of the National Rifle Association (NRA). After the shooting
that occurred at Sandy Hook elementary, LaPierre expresses his sympathy for the families of the
loss and he then gathers the attention of parents who may be uneasy about their children s safety at
school. Throughout

Most of the people here were against the project but the mayor completely ignored our suggestions
and he even ignored the minister of the Environments suggestion, who suggested doing a study

Mohawk people from whom these decisions were directly affecting but the general consensus which
was not necessarily in support of the expansion.
On March 10, 1990 the people of Kanesatake took a stand in the Pines on a dirt road that lead to
the golf course by creating a road block. They set up barricades and sand bags around their land,
as well as placing barbed wire through the trees. Since there was no Warrior Society in
Kanehsatake itself, volunteer warriors were recruited from two other Mohawk reserves, Kahnawake
and Akwesasne to staff the roadblock. (Swan , 2010) It was a stand of unity to protect the small
piece of land they had managed to hold on to for their future generations. The Mohawk were asking
for respect, and to recognize their rights and independence over their ancestral land. It wasn t just

The Four Goals Of Punishment
The four goals of punishment in the American criminal justice system are retribution, deterrence,
incapacitation, and rehabilitation. The purpose of the four goals of punishment is to ensure that the
sentence the criminal is receiving is reasonable and just. It is difficult to satisfy all of the
components to the highest degree for all criminals. All of the goals serve a different purpose and
are significant in their own way, but when combined together they create a very complex sentencing
policy for criminals. The first goal of punishmentis retribution. Retribution, also known as deserved
punishment, it is when one is punished for committing a crimethat harmed other people in some
manner (277; ch.9). The purpose of this goal is for the criminal to understand that if you commit a
crime, consequences will come with that. Depending on the crime that is committed will decide
how serious the punishment is. A lot of factors are considered with retribution during the sentencing
process. Factors such as the age of the defendant, their previous offense history, not only that but the
victims of the crime. The judge might give the defendant a sentencethat will not only punish him
for the crime but also make the family feel that the proper sentence was given to the criminal. The
next goal of punishment is deterrence. The purpose of deterrence is to convince criminals and
society to not commit future crimes (277; ch.9). Deterrence has two separate subcategories which

Second Temple Influence On The Old Testament
INTRODUCTION The Bible and its history are highly connected as we study the work of God
throughout the Old Testament. The Old Testament and the human history reflected the perfect
plan of God for humanity. Likewise, the New Testament; therefore, serves as an inevitable
evidence of God s grace. Though the voice of prophets was absent during the Second Temple
period as it was described as the silent years, the work of God was still continued among His
people. The LORD revealed Himself throughout the time in different discourses. This paper will
begin with the definition of the terminology of Second Temple period. Then it will aim at the
survey of the influence by various relevant events, people, and groups during the Second Temple
period in chronological order, starting with the Persian period and Israel s return from exile to
the destruction of the Second Temple in AD 70. In addition, an attempt will be made to focus on
the specific period of the Roman Peace Period and its impact on the first century world of the
Jews and their expectation of the Messiah. DEFINITION OF SECOND TEMPLE PERIOD

Throughout his entire journey back to his camp, the man would show ignorance when he didn t
understand how cold the weather really was. He would continually think to himself how it s just a
little bit of cold. It ll only cause some pain and discomfort. Nothing too dangerous or life
threatening. Due to his inexperience in this freezing weather, mixed in with his ignorance, the man
s death was certain. Once in a while the thought repeated itself that it was very cold and the he
had never experienced such cold. As he walked along he rubbed his face and nose with the back
of his mittened hand. He did this without thinking, frequently changing hands. But, with all his
rubbing, the instant he stopped, his face and nose became numb. His face would surely be
frozen. He knew that and he was sorry that he had not worn the sort of nose guard Bud wore
when it was cold. Such a guard passed across the nose and covered the entire face. But it did not
matter much, he decided. What was a little frost? A bit painful, that was all. It was never serious.
(London 68) Comparing the man with his own dog, the reader is able to see a massive difference

any sort of damage to his own health. On the other hand, the dog s instincts are at full capacity

Film Differences And Cultural Differences
Some people delude themselves that having freedom means to disregard the human rights of
other people. Everyone has the rights to express one s idea, belief, and thoughts, but there is an
invisible limit to the expressions. When the expressions hurt other people emotionally or
physically, one needs to recognize that the action has to be fixed. This process usually happens
as people grow up learning how to socially behave in the communities. However, the human
rights of some people are still being violated in the public. One of the biggest stages of it is in
the mainstream media including the Hollywood. Hollywood is one of the most impactful media
sources that produces global film works. People live together and no one can live on their own in
this society, and for this reason, everyone should know that individuals have the responsibility of
keeping the rights of others. With heavier respect to be in such positions, Hollywood writers and
directors have a social responsibility to avoid stereotyping ethnic characters for three reasons: to
respect the individual cultural differences, due to the large impact of the media, and for the
opportunity to obtain further creativity. At first, Hollywood writers and directors should have a
social responsibility to avoid ethnic characters to respect the individual cultural differences simply
as a human being. People fight for the rights of genders, races, and positions still to this day, but
they do not recognize that certain groups of

Stella plays a articulate role as a mother character and also as a prophet. When she first arrives

One of my favorite examples of her character is when she says to Jeff in discussion about Lisa, I
can hear you now: Get out of my life, you wonderful woman. You re too good for me . More
interestingly, Stella acts as a prophet to what will happen in the film. She says multiple times that
she can Smell trouble in the apartment as she notices Jeff voristic habits. From a shot prospective,
author John Belton points out an interesting fact about Stella visual role to show she know more

Vascular Hyperpermeability Case Study
Vascular hyperpermeability is a causative factor in several disease states including ALI (39).
Although primarily produced in the liver, we observed that the murine pulmonary vasculature also
expresses the extracellular serine protease, HABP2 (36). Therefore, we silenced HABP2 expression
in the pulmonary vasculature and observed that it attenuated LPS and VILI induced pulmonary
vascular leak (36). Since HABP2 is upregulated in ALI, this study examined the functional
consequences of HABP2 overexpression and the endogenous inhibitor(s) of HABP2 during ALI.
Reports indicate that the extracellular serine protease inhibitor, C1INH, can effectively bind
HABP2 in the blood (27). We therefore examined whether C1INH can colocalize with HABP2 in...

p65 NF kB was quantitated using an ELISA kit (Abcam). Figure 2 A indicates that preincubation
with C1INH inhibited HABP2, LPS and LMW HA mediated NF kB activation. LMW HA was
inhibited the least likely due to the fact that it can also bind CD44v10 and TLR4 (41). We and
others have previously shown that HABP2, LPS and LMW HA can activate the small G protein,

mediated EC barrier disruption while slightly (but significantly) augmenting HMW HA mediated

searches and seizures, shall not be violated . In other words, it is illegal for persons to go through
your things without your consent or knowledge. This is fairly straightforward and simple, right?
Not exactly! Patricia Dunn was accused of hiring private investigators to investigate members of
the board of Hewlett Packard. These investigators used a technique known as pretexting, a practice
of getting your personal information under false pretenses (Federal Trade Commission, 2008). In
this case the investigators called the phone company... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He believed his leaks were in the best interest of the company and also did not involve the
disclosure of confidential or damaging information (Ard, 2006). While she was legally forced to
admit the pretexting and the reasons for Perkins resignation, was it necessary to put a name with
the source of the leak? It seems as if she was going down, she was going to take as many people
as she could down with her. It doesn t seem ethical to name Keyworth publicly as the source of the
leak. He had already admitted it to the board explained his logic and he hadn t resigned at that point.
So far it seems like Dunn s hands were clean as she did not know the private investigators were
using the process of pretexting to gain the information. Then she admitted to receiving emails
telling her about the tactics used and admits that these tactics were appalling (Kaplan, 2006). Upon
her resignation Patricia Dunn stated, The unauthorized disclosure of confidential information was
a serious violation of our code of conduct (Patricia Dunn resigns from HP board, 2006). Not only
did Dunn resign, so did Kevin Hunsaker, HP s senior director of ethics and company lawyer, and

suspected that the techniques used in the investigation might not be legal. When he asked Mr.

From Bang to Brain Lachlan Hall
Let s go back in time, about eighty years from now. A young astronomer named Edwin Hubble had
contributed to a theory that would explain the origins of the universe. He discovered that atoms
were in everything, including his brain. This article is to discover how exactly did atoms from the
universe end up being in Hubble s brain? So let s find out how we got From Bang to Brain .
Let s start with the Big Bang Theory . In 1927 the big bang theory was proposed by Georges
Lemaitre. But was significantly created by our old friend Edwin Hubble. Edwin Hubble lived
from 1889 1953 and in this time he did great things such as contribute significantly to the creation
of the big bang theory and also was the developer of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cosmic background radiation is radiation from the early development of the universe. After the
big bang the universe was smaller and much hotter than it is now and was filled with a fog of
hydrogen plasma. Eventually the universe started expanding and became cooler. As it cooled
stable atoms started forming, leaving only CMB remained so it is a strong evidence that the Big
Bang Theory was correct. Scientist thought if the big bang actually happened then there would
have to be cosmic background radiation left over, so all they had to do is find evidence of this
and they did so this gave the big bang theory evidence to support their claim.
Another way to support the Big Bang Theory is to look at the stars. According to the Big Bang
Theory the universe is forever changing and expanding and looking up at the stars just proves
this. If you look up at the stars we only see the stars that their light has reached us meaning these
stars are only new, so if we don t so some stars the light hasn t reached us yet. As we know light
travels in light years which takes well years, so if we can t see their light it hasn t reached us so it
is light years away. This shows us that it has grown and changed supporting the

By and by, I consider gatherings to be a Web 2.0 kind of use, however I don t see them perceived
all things considered.
The exceptionally intriguing point I find about the entire Web 2.0 development is that in one
specific viewpoint, it s extremely just the same old thing new. In the 70 s the innovation boffins
were urgently attempting to make tracks in an opposite direction from the centralized server/idiotic
terminal foundation and in some ways, we re making a beeline for that just with immensely
expanded adaptability.
For an especially more point by point depiction of Web 2.0 ideas, something not excessively

What is a mashup?
The expression mashup started in the music business it s music that is comprised of different

Hiking Up Johnson s Peak Essay
Hiking Up Johnson s Peak Have you ever been to the best camp EVER, which is obviously
CGS? Well, if you haven t you have to go, especially if you like nature! My favorite part was
hiking up Johnson s Peak. The naturalists that went with us were very nice, and they knew every
single answer to every single question someone had. Additionally, when we looked for fossils if
we couldn t find any they helped us find some. Their names were Carolyn, Joelle, and Scott. When
we were hikingup Johnson s Peak we would stop at breakpoints and get a drink of water and the
naturalists would teach us something and we would ask questions and do little experiments, or the
naturalists would tell us a short story. For example, one of the experiments was was

Sonny s Blues By James Baldwin Essay
Sonny s Blues is a narration about two siblings brothers who choose very different routes in life
in order to accomplish the zenith of individualism, expressionism and recognition. In doing so,
they take a glimpse into one another s spheres and learn to assent and appreciate each other for
who they are. In 1951, Baldwin wrote Sonny s Blues, a story of the ills that Harlem provided its
youth. In Baldwin s telling of the narration, it forms a nous of liberation, an atmosphere of
therapeutic acceptance for the author, in which Baldwin develops to express his own state through
his virtuoso of storytelling. To put it inanely, Baldwin has such a fine grasp of the linguistic and
such great urge to interpret that he can move even his stoutest detractors to emotion and response.
Walter Dean Myers (2014), a famous New York Times journalist wrote that ...I read a story by
James Baldwin: Sonny s Blues. I didn t love the story, but I was lifted by it, for it took place in
Harlem, and it was a story concerned with black people like those I knew. By humanizing the
people who were like me, Baldwin s story also humanized me. The story gave me a permission
that I didn t know I needed, the permission to write about my own landscape, my own map. It
broods a similar contentment in the reader that the reader s conscience is questioned by the

The Most Significant Moment In My Life
We all have that moment in life that changes us in some ways. I think back at events in my life,
as an example the births of my children that caused me to grow into a mother and the woman I
am today. However, there is a moment in my life, after my children, I was psychologically lost.
This moment changed my life forever! I was married for thirteen years with five children. During
these thirteen years, I would be the head of the house hold and ensured structure in the house. My
husband at the time, was an addict and in/out of prison. We attempt counseling and all types of
treatment. The last six years together, we were very involved in church. My faith in God grew
and I believed my husband could be delivered from this addition. I had to be the strong one in the
family, the rock, the foundation of our house to give the perception to people we were okay.
After trying everything possible, I realized, only he can be in recovery of addiction, I cannot
make him. I had to make the decision to break up my family for the safety of my children. After
my separation, I became angry. My faith was questionable, and I was angry at God. My family
was torn, we lived with a friend in a small room. My step children had to live with their mom
because I could not afford to keep them. I no longer felt strong, or had structure in my house. The
feeling of failure and the mourning of the loss of my family was overwhelming. I began to drink
alcohol every day. My daily routine would consist of going to work and as soon as I got out I
would stop and get a Smirnoff Black, go home, cook for the three kids, leave work out, drink
and go out, go home at two am. The next six months, I did not care about anything or anyone. I
allowed these feelings to consume me. In September 2013, the first week, I was driving drunk, I
swerved and ran my mirror in to the wall. The second week, I was drunk and could not leave the
parking lot of a club, until the following morning. The third week, I was driving drunk to a friend
s house, and I remember fighting with him at the door way, and he asked me to leave. The next
thing I remember I woke up in a stranger s car, holding a blanket to my chin full of blood. The
young gentleman driving said, Miss, you

The Invention Essay
So You ve Just Come Up With A Million Dollar Idea Now What?
While there is no set formula on how a would be inventor can take their great idea from mind to
manufacturing, there are some things they must be aware of and some steps they simply must
take as they move forward. If you think you have one of those great ideas, set aside all
celebrations for the time being and start taking real action toward making the idea a productive and
profitable reality. Be warned, though: this isn t going to be easy.
1. Ask Yourself Some Serious Questions
It s very important to keep your feet on the ground, even if you feel you ve reinvented the wheel in
spectacular fashion. An idea itself is worthless until proven in many ways, but that can be ... Show

When talking to potential partners, you re likely to get more valuable feedback on setting up a
company, manufacturing, distribution and other important elements of a startup.
A second (third, fourth and beyond) opinion should provide you with affirmation that your idea has
value, beyond what you ve imagined thus far. These outside opinions help you to chisel your idea
into something with real world applicability. Also, be prepared for the naysayers, who, although
discouraging at first, can also give you useful information.
3. Analyze Development And Production Costs
It s one thing to create a homemade prototype, quite another to put it into real production. How
much is it going to cost to perfect your prototype enough to actually manufacture it? How much
will it cost to produce each unit and who can handle that for you? Ideas are typically modified in
the development stage, meaning your original idea may evolve into something different or even
spawn two or more spinoff ideas, equally valuable and worth pursuing.
Although the technical aspects of bringing an invention to the production stage are tedious and
challenging, this is a crucial stage for you and will determine the economic feasibility of moving
forward. You need to figure out who you can trust, where your startup capital is going to come
from and whether or not you should form some type of company now. Depending on your

Ethical Behavior Of The Volkswagen Group
Singapore Institute of Technology
Career Professional Development SIE2901
Individual Assignment
Submitted By: Hasif bin Zailani (14SSI018B)
Summary of Discussion
The paper exemplifies the unethical behavior of the Volkswagen Group. The poor decision making
from the top executives caused the engineers to suffer as they questioned their own moral
principles. It resulted in the engineers failure to meet the standard set out by the Statement of
Ethical Principles. Finally, the paper discusses what engineers could have done despite the
constraints the engineers of Volkswagenmight have been under.
Background of Incident
In September 2015, The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) found defeat device installed in
Volkswagen vehicles sold in the United States (US), which resulted in violating the Clean Air Act.
This device was installed in the diesel engines of the cars. It had the capability to not only detect
when the car was being tested for emissions, but to improve emission results in order to pass
emission standards in the US. As a result, EPA issued a Notice of Violation to Volkswagen.
The defeat device installed within the engines of the vehicles contained a program that ... Show

They were tasked to do something despicable or would probably have been laid off. It was a
difficult decision made by the engineers to carry on with the design and implementation of the
defeat device . The engineers of Volkswagen were just carrying out their duty to the company [4],
doing anything they could to bring back the paycheck at the end of the month so that they could
feed their families. For better or for worse, the engineers however should have voiced out their
opinions about the implementation of such a device. The engineers knew how it would affect the
health of the public and knew that in doing so, they would be breaching the Statement of Ethical

Darkness Byron Diction
In his poem Darkness Lord Byron gives an apocalyptic view of the world, as he pictured it. The
poem is partially influenced by the mass hysteria of the time brought about by an Italian
astronomer. He predicted that the sun would burn itself out on July 18th, destroying the world. The
poem is written in first person and is packed with sublime imagery. The tone of the poem gives
hints to the author s emotional state of mind at the time. Darkness seems to have been written as a
satirical account of what might have been the public s hysteria during that Summer of Darkness.
Byron takes advantage of the events of the time, and creates a hellish description of the end of
humanity. Darkness is a poem with different interpretations, it can... Show more content on

The time stopping slowly until the destruction is completed and the darkness is covering
everything. Punctuation also plays a big role in this poem. The use of enjambment and
punctuation reinforce the movement of time through the poem that is written in six full phrases
those ended with full stop. Many verses lack punctuation at the end making the reading faster
from one verse to another. It is also important that the verses where the punctuation is used are
those where the pass of time is slower, the beginning and the end. Alliteration, on the other hand,
is used to enhance the mood that Byron wishes to communicate, as the use of s in: Seasonless,
herbless, treeless, manless, lifeless as a phonemic example of silence and growing death as we
are approaching the end of the poem as well as the end of times.Byron is not using complex
metaphors or ideas which delay the development of the poem, the men depicted as animals,
irrational beasts driving themselves to the abysm of darkness: The meagre by the meagre were

The Importance Of Creative Writing
Creative Writing is an unique class. The class lets students express their feelings, write them,
discuss what s there, and allow a story to flow from them. Creative Writing has allowed students to
learn in a way not focused on point objectives, but on understanding and using the information
taught in important ways. This has really helped emphasize the importance and impact of writing.
With this, it seems possible that having more classes that use this format could improve the impact
writing skills taught in school have on students. One small way to help more students become
interested and impacted is by generating an Advanced c writing class.
To understand why students would benefit with an advanced creative writing class, the issues with
the education system have to be discussed. School is based on a schedule system. People are
compared though age, then sent through classes. This was developed during the industrial
revolution, but this has become dated compared to new methods. R.C. Smith discussed these issues
in his essay A Critique of Ken Robinson s Presentation . This essay was published to enhance the
points Sir Ken Robinson made in his video, Changing Education . One of the points addressed in
the video is the effect of this industrial education system on students. In his argument, Robinson
claims that this system was driven by an economic imperative of the time (Robinson) and is not
beneficial to students. Diane Tavenner, CEO of Summit Public Schools, explained

Comparing the Iconography and Mythology of Two Major Hindu Deities
In Hindu tradition, Brahma created the universe, Vishnu maintained it and Shiva destroyed it.
These three gods comprise the Hindu trinity (the trimurti) and are considered to be the leading gods
of the religion, especially Brahma, who is the oldest of all the gods. This point is questionable
though as the Visnu Purana talks of Brahma emerging from Vishnus navel to maintain the world
after Vishnu has created it and then he returns to the navel after Shiva has destroyed it. If this is the
case then Vishnu s position as a god is elevated from merely the maintainer to the creator. This essay

It is when he awakens out of this sleep that Brahma appears from Vishnu s navel enfolded in a
lotus as mentioned above. Vishnu is also seen riding, sometimes with his wife Laksmi, but mainly
he is represented as one of his incarnations or avataras.
Unlike Shiva, Vishnu is particularly associated with his avataras and by the end of the Puranic
period he was especially connected with ten of these manifestations. These were Vamana (the
ignorant dwarf), Kurma (the tortoise), Matsya (the fish), Narasimha (the man lion), Varaha (the
boar), Parasurama (Rama with the axe), Kalki (the white horse), Rama, Buddha and of course the
most popular of all his incarnations, Krishna. Vishnu incarnates into the world from time to time
to preserve or to reinstate righteousness (Herman, 1991:107). Krishna being his principle avatara,
is often seen slaying demons and so is considered a hero. He also teaches the discipline of karma
yoga, meaning the way of selfless action (Herman, 1991:179), to Arjuna the warrior hero and the
dialogue is written down in the Bhagavad Gita. Krishna is in disguise and offers Arjuna guidance,
advising that one should acct selflessly without thinking of the rewards and should be satisfied in
offering action in the name of the lord. Since Krishna is only a manifestation, it is actually Vishnu
who is behind this teaching of devotion, proving himself to be a praiseworthy and

The Impact of Philosophy on Government
Between the time of Machiavelli s The Prince and Locke s Second Treatise of
Government, the concept of government evolved greatly. There were several philosophers that
contributed their ideas and helped build the foundation for the governments we have today. Niccolo
Machiavelli, an Italian philosopher, who lived from 1469 1527, became well known with his ideas
and concepts of government. Machiavelli in his book The Prince, a guide of how to rule dedicated
to Lorenzo de Medici, ruler of Florence at that time, clearly exposed his concepts about what he
thought a ruler had to do to be respected and admired.
Machiavelli believed that whoever possessed the power had the right to command, however, he

Hobbes left very clear in his work that for a government to be powerful it had to have a strong
central authority. His ideas had a great impact on the Federalists during the first steps of the
creation of the US laws. Hobbes concept that men were weak and needed to be guided made the
Federalist lead to create the Federal Constitution of 1787 since they also saw the American people
unable to defend themselves and keep the country as a strong nation against the foreign menace.
Another important philosopher of the early 17th century was Baruch de Spinoza, a Dutch
philosopher born in 1632. His ideas were the most radical of the early modern period. His
Treatise, The Ethics: Treatise on the Emendation of the Intellect, was a very ambitious document.
What Spinoza expressed here are his ideas of truth about God, nature and especially ourselves; as
well as the highest principles of society, religion and the well being of men.
He studied Hobbes and Machiavelli s works intensely but he differ from them in a major way.
He did not believe that there was a supernatural power or God that had to settle the differences
among men or to punish them if they did not act properly. He stated that the government had to be
created by human beings for their specific needs and purposes, but for this government to be
effective it had to be based on the

Dr King Qualities
Understanding what it takes to be a great leader Anyone has the potential to be a leader, but it
takes a strong and willing person to be a great leader. First and foremost a leader must be willing
to take responsibility, for he s own action and the action of others, and be willing to step up to
the plate at all times. He must be willing to listen at time, for advice from those who he leads.
Great leaders take a firm stand for their followers, they never gives up on achieving their goals,
they are dedicated and they push for excellent. They stay focus, they embrace the needs and wants

Planned Behavior Theory
The Theory of Planned Behavior (TBP) is a theory proposed by Icek Ajzen in 1975, whereby
evolved from the Theory of Reasoned Action, which was, published jointly with his mentor and
colleague Martin Fishbein. Icek Ajzen is a prominent social psychologist that received his highest
degree, a PhD in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign in 1969. Ajzen
currently holds a position as a Professor of Psychologyat the University of Massachusetts Amherst
(Pious, 2012). The Theory of Planned Behaviorwas designed to analyze the link between attitudes
and behavior and help to predict and explain human behavior. The thought behind the theory is that
it will help to understand how we can change people s behavior. The theory is based on three
defining factors about beliefs. The three types include normative beliefs, behavioral and control
beliefs. Behavioral beliefs are described as the attitude that she hold towards the behavior, while...

For the purposes of this paper, the TPB can also be utilized. Research shows that investigators have
begun to rely on the TBP in an attempt to predict and understand people s intentions to initiate

compliance by guiding you in your focus or observation of behavioral actions to predict the effects
that nursing interventions have on the behaviors that are directed toward health promotion.
Johansson (2002) states that it is a prerequisite for the patient s perception of satisfaction with the
nursing care which often is the determining factor of whether the client will comply or not so
therefore these behaviors can be predicted utilizing the TPB since the actions of others (the nurse)

  • 2. Clical Reasoning as Described by Neistdadt AccoIntroduction The aim of this essay is to explore the Clinical reasoning thinking frame as described by Neistadt (1996). Clinical reasoning is a set of skill performed by occupational therapists which are central to practice and involved throughout the Occupational therapy process (Neistadt, 1996, AOTA, 2008). This will be done in relation to our case study of which the protagonist is Hugh, a 70 year old widower and retired baker, who was managing well an episode of depression but has recently been found apathetic, unwashed and in soiled clothes by the public mental health nurse, and referred to see an occupational therapist. Narrative Reasoning The first element of this process we will discuss is narrative reasoning which concerns itself with the construction and subsequent analysis of the client s occupational story (Neistadt, 1996, Duncan, 2006). This process is developed through allowing the client the opportunity to create a narrative image through story telling, this can manifest itself in an adumbration of their life experience and how it has been altered through disability, disease or transition (Duncan, 2006, Neistadt, 1996). The importance for a practitioner to explore the client s narrative is not only in the development of their story but it also gives the therapist insight into the person and a possible future for them (Higgs, 2008). The use of certain assessments can be particularly effective in the development of a client s narrative, one of which being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Does Mark Twain Use Satire In Huckleberry Finn The Satiric Adventure Through Mark Twain s South Satire is the use of comedy, exaggeration and ridicule to criticize people for what they do, what they create, or who they are. Mark Twain uses extensive satire in his novel to depict what he thought the ideology of the South was during this time. Twain denounces many staples of Southern life, during the time period of the book. Racism, religion, and family feuds were substances able to be found anywhere in the South. Twain chooses to excoriate these things because his opinions on these topics vary vastly from what the common mentality was in the South. Perhaps one of Mark Twains most satirized topics in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finnis racism. In his novel one of the most racist characters is Huck s father Pap. Pap gets frustrated when a black person is more educated than him or has nicer clothes. Call this a govment!...there was a free nigger there (Twain 36). This quote tells the reader that Pap thinks part of the reason the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The specific feud in the novel is between the Grangerfords and the Shepherdsons. These two families have been fighting so long that the current generation do not even know why they are fighting one another. Did you want to kill him, Buck? Well, I bet I did. What did he do to you? Him? He never done nothing to me. Well, then, what did you want to kill him for? Why, nothing only it s on account of the feud (Twain 118). There are two things Twain could have been trying to portray. The Hatfields and Mccoys had a feud in the South for several years which directly mirrors the book. The feud could also represent the bigger Civil War that has just ended in Twain s time of writing the novel. The senseless violence and extremely high death toll, the Civil War was a silly war in Mark Twain s eyes as by the end not one side really won. It just abolished the thing that should have ended decades ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Compare And Contrast Bbkar And Babasaheb Ambedkar When we talked about the famous Indian leader, Mahatma Gandhi will be the first person that comes to most people mind. However, there are other many leaders that also played the important roles in reforming India. One of them is Babasaheb Ambedkar. If I have to compare both of them with the warlord, I would say that Gandhi is like the warlord who fight peacefully for the country liberation, while Babasaheb Ambedkar is like the warlord who fight for equality and justice in the country. To be honest, it is very shameful that I have never known Ambedkar before. Since after I have read his biography and what he had done, he suddenly became one of my idols. Bhimrao or Babasaheb Ambedkar was born on April 14, 1891 at Mhow in central India. Different from Ghandi who belonged to the merchant caste, Bhimrao was born in a religious Mahar family... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ambedkar saw untouchability as the additional product of caste system, and believed that there could not be any uplift or relief from untouchability if there were not the abolition of caste. Moreover, Ambedkar believed that the caste system was actually a division of labourers which simply meant that the caste system is the basis of assigning occupations. This caused a stagnant economy in communities because the system did not allow people to have other professional skills and entered other professions outside the caste group. He said that fixity of occupations hindered the growth and development of the Indian economy and the society. In his thought, people should do the work that is best suited to them to gain the most efficient or else this would lead to immobility of both labour and capital. It could be said that Ambedkar was a challenge to Hinduism. By contrast, Gandhi was a devoted Hindu. He thought that the responsibility of eliminating untouchability should depend on the upper caste. Such as the United StatesSeal team six, United kingdom S.A.S and Kopassus Gultor 81. They seek out those who do wrong and bring them to justice. This is why countries should put aside their problems and work together to fight terrorism to many innocent lives are being lost. The biggest problem America faces is terrorism. Polls from December 2 6 2015 show that terrorism was 16% of Americans biggest concerns (Cook). This goes to show that terrorism is a problem not only for the American people but the entire world. Countries can start by improving their homeland security. After the United states was attacked on September 11, they did major adjustments to Homeland Security, such as improving screening for passenger bags at airports. Advanced passenger information and name record data to be able to find high value targets if they ever try board on any plane. Many things the United States have improved on the European countries should improve on too, especially with many terrorists making fake passports and using those to pass any airport. Also with German Chancellor Angela Merkel allowing refugees to come to Europe, it should be a necessity to have strict policies on passports. With Germany being the dominant country bringing refugees, mostly from Syria. That is why most countries who accept refugees should enforce their passports policy and give the refugees special identification, this should increase the security and address any issues countries ... • 6. Analyzing Fouquet s Character Our character is Fouquet, a character with a casual, yet important personality. In the very beginning of the book, Fouquet is not mentioned at all. It s not until Chapter 10 that he is even mentioned, and becomes a character of importance in Chapter 11. From there on, he seems to hold a role in every chapter. The book provides minimal descriptions of Fouquet s physical appearance, so we are only left to infer most of the details. The first small detail that is given through the book, is in Chapter 10 on page 88. Though not directly stated, we came to the conclusion that Fouquet is an older man. This is also backed up by the fact that Fouquet is extremely wealthy (meaning he had more time to gain his wealth). As for Fouquet s personality, details are almost always directly given. The most important detail of his personality that plays a big role throughout the book is the fact that he is loyal to the king. This aspect first shows up in Chapter 11, on page 93. In a conversation with Aramis, Fouquet reveals that he views the king as sacred than ever and dear . Earlier in the conversation, Fouquet also states... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Humbleness is shown through the fact that the feather is small, and not gaudy. Loyalty is shown through the white color of the feather, as white is known to signify loyalty. All in all, Fouquet s personality shows very well throughout the book; and holds strong roles in his actions. • 7. The Between Politics, Media, And The Public Sphere From a historical perception, Matthias Karmasin, Gabriele Melischek, Josef Seethaler and Romy WГ¶hlert (2013) believe it is evident that communication has led and still leads to war (ix). From the written and unwritten rituals of mutual respect and disrespect to the definition of legitimate violence and manipulation of the culture of war, mass mediahas dramatically influenced social, political, and economic societies (Karmasin et al, 2013) In their collection of works submitted by members of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), Karmasin et al. (2013) follow the thesis that there is a duality between the changes in warfare and the possibilities of communicating events (ix). The book is broken into three parts: the first focuses on propagandaand acceptance of war; part two explores the changing relationship between politics, media, and the public sphere; and the last portion of the book covers the postmodern war and modern journalism. However, the book begins with an overview of war, the media and the public sphere. Philip Seib (2013) examines war and the media in a way that stimulates thinking about how war s place within the public sphere is influenced by media, and how the definition of news media has expanded (3). The main driving point behind Sieb s introduction is that the media has retreated from its proper place within the public sphere, which is to monitor discourse and encourage a broad array of voices to participate in debate ... • 8. Sexual Harassment In The Crucible At the moment, Hollywood actors are falling left and right. After decades of silence, victims of sexual harassment have gained the courage to confront their harassers and accuse them. This movement all began with actresses Ashley Judd and Rose McGowan, who accused the well known Hollywood mogul, Harvey Weinstein, of sexual harassmentfrom two decades ago in a detailed timeline in the New York Times article, Harvey Weinstein Paid off Sexual Harassment Accusers for Decades written by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey. Following this accusation, several others began to make sexaul harassment accusations against other popular actors. This movement quickly gained momentum, however others have tried to discredit the accusers and are calling this a modern day witch hunt. However, the accusers were able to prosper because of their political and religious climate. In a similar way, in present day, Ashley Judd and Rose McGowan, accusations against Harvey Weinstein led to several other actresses/actors to come out and reveal their own stories of sexual harassment and accuse other celebrities or film set workers. However, in modern time, most accusations are believed and perpetrators are facing consequences but during the witch trials, all accusations were firmly believed, although accusations ... Elaine Lissner founded the Male Contraceptive Information Project (MCIP) in the late 1980 s to track progress and raise awareness of male contraception. If you have 10 percent (or even 1 percent of men using contraceptive method, you can make a huge difference in unintended pregnancy, says Lissner. You also get a lot of women out from under a lot of side effects from hormonal methods (Mack 2011). In my own person opinion I believe the millennial generation is more welcoming to having positive forms of male contraceptive presented for the near feature. These days equal responsibilities are being implemented by more couples as times have changed the outcomes are now affecting the birth control marketplace. There has been foundation funding RISUG (aka Vasa Gel) developing in hopes for this long term reversible male birth control option (Watson and Conger). The new gel form contraceptive that profoundly lowers sperm count is currently in progress. • 12. Research Paper On Tupac Shakur Tupac Amaru Shakur was a very influential person who overcame many difficulties. Tupac was a rapper of truth that spoke about the things that go on in the Hood and the unjust police. He was treated differently because he was black and was even arrested for jaywalking. After he was arrested he was beaten by the cops who wanted him to learn his place (Joseph 29). This shows how bad Tupac had it because he was African American. Tupac died an early death at 25 because of a brewing rivalry between the East and West Coast rappers. He never let anyone win a battle that he was determined to win and always knew what he was fighting for. Jeremiah continues to speak out prophetically fighting against those who are false prophets who are intent on telling the people warm and fuzzy lies to cover up and deny the brokenness that has caused them to be in exile. God has spoken to Jeremiah of why Judah must be in exile, why Judah must come to terms with what has happened to them. Jeremiah knows God wants Judah to turn and repent for turning away from God but the people do not listen to Jeremiah. • 26. The Four Goals Of Punishment The four goals of punishment in the American criminal justice system are retribution, deterrence, incapacitation, and rehabilitation. The purpose of the four goals of punishment is to ensure that the sentence the criminal is receiving is reasonable and just. It is difficult to satisfy all of the components to the highest degree for all criminals. All of the goals serve a different purpose and are significant in their own way, but when combined together they create a very complex sentencing policy for criminals. The first goal of punishmentis retribution. Retribution, also known as deserved punishment, it is when one is punished for committing a crimethat harmed other people in some manner (277; ch.9). The purpose of this goal is for the criminal to understand that if you commit a crime, consequences will come with that. Depending on the crime that is committed will decide how serious the punishment is. A lot of factors are considered with retribution during the sentencing process. Factors such as the age of the defendant, their previous offense history, not only that but the victims of the crime. The judge might give the defendant a sentencethat will not only punish him for the crime but also make the family feel that the proper sentence was given to the criminal. Everyone has the rights to express one s idea, belief, and thoughts, but there is an invisible limit to the expressions. When the expressions hurt other people emotionally or physically, one needs to recognize that the action has to be fixed. This process usually happens as people grow up learning how to socially behave in the communities. However, the human rights of some people are still being violated in the public. Although primarily produced in the liver, we observed that the murine pulmonary vasculature also expresses the extracellular serine protease, HABP2 (36). Therefore, we silenced HABP2 expression in the pulmonary vasculature and observed that it attenuated LPS and VILI induced pulmonary vascular leak (36). Since HABP2 is upregulated in ALI, this study examined the functional consequences of HABP2 overexpression and the endogenous inhibitor(s) of HABP2 during ALI. Reports indicate that the extracellular serine protease inhibitor, C1INH, can effectively bind HABP2 in the blood (27). We therefore examined whether C1INH can colocalize with HABP2 in... Cells were solublized and the ratio of pSer536 p65 NF kB to total p65 NF kB was quantitated using an ELISA kit (Abcam). Figure 2 A indicates that preincubation with C1INH inhibited HABP2, LPS and LMW HA mediated NF kB activation. LMW HA was inhibited the least likely due to the fact that it can also bind CD44v10 and TLR4 (41). We and others have previously shown that HABP2, LPS and LMW HA can activate the small G protein, RhoA, in EC (36, 39, 41 44). Using the same experimental setup at Figure 2 A, Figure 2 B indicates that preincubation with C1INH inhibited HABP2, LPS and LMW HA mediated RhoA activation. LMW HA was inhibited the least likely due to reasons stated above. Finally, Figure 2 C indicates that C1INH moderates EC barrier function. Specifically, pretreatment of HPMVEC monolayers with C1INH (100 ng/ml, 1 hour) attenuated LPS, LWM HA and purified HABP2 mediated EC barrier disruption while slightly (but significantly) augmenting HMW HA mediated EC barrier enhancement. He studied Hobbes and Machiavelli s works intensely but he differ from them in a major way. He did not believe that there was a supernatural power or God that had to settle the differences among men or to punish them if they did not act properly. Research shows that investigators have begun to rely on the TBP in an attempt to predict and understand people s intentions to initiate actions or participate in certain behaviors.
