Risk Assessment and Risk Management
Risk assessment and risk management
Introduction
There are many hazards associated in an industrial workplace. With new technologies, new machinery
and constant updates with regulations it is more important now than ever before to produce efficient
risk assessments. Good risk assessments reduce hazards and fatalities in dangerous areas in the
workplace. A good risk assessment will make workers feel safer and therefore happier and promotes a
good business structure within the company. A good risk assessment will help prevent legal action
against the company therefore saving the company money.
Identifying Hazards
When looking at a general workshop there are several hazards that could potentially cause an accident.
In this section, I will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Accidents with tools
The engineers have to use tools to carry out maintenance work, tools include small pocket knives,
screwdrivers, drills, ratchet sets etc. There is the need of tools to do maintenance so the likelihood of
incidents and accidents is very likely (Frequency: 4), severity is not as bad as there are a lack of
dangerous saws and other dangerous tools etc. Cuts from electrical/ metallic equipment are also likely
as well but shouldn t be too severe (Severity: 3).
Trip/Slip Hazards
Trip hazards come from misplaced boxes, pallets and other items that have been misplaced. Slip
hazards can come from a leaky roof or spilled drink, these incidences can often occur (Frequency: 3)
but they usually don t do too much damage but on rarity can be fatal (Severity: 2).
Oxidising Hazards
There are no real chemicals within the workplace that can cause oxidising problems or need constant
ventilation, therefore any oxidising accidents should be extremely rare (frequency: 1) but if they was a
miraculous incident, it could cause an explosion (Severity: 5).
Environment Hazards
There is waste in the workshop that can be harmful to the environment, such as disposing old batteries
that have Ni Cad Acid which can harm the environment /animals. Waste and rubbish is of a high
quantity and should be exposed of properly using the correct authorities. The amount of rubbish
thrown out of the

Long Island Ny, Nassau County
Long Island NY, Nassau County
Nassau County is a cosmopolitan society with different people from various demographical features.
The most recent population census pegged the population at approximately 1,361,350 people
(www.census.gov/quickfacts). Thus, it is safe to conclude that the population is slightly over 1.3
million people who have diverse cultural features or backgrounds. It is important to note that 76% of
the total population is comprised of whites alone that are roughly 1,034,626 of the total population.
The African American community has an approximate population of 12% that is 163,362 people. The
Asian population is 7.6% that translates to 103,462 people (www.census.gov/quickfacts).
Regarding gender, the female population comprises 51.5% of the total population approximately
701,095 people while the males constitute 660,255. Conventionally, senior citizens are people above
65 years of age, and they form 16.4% of the total human population roughly 223261 people. Persons
living with disability are 4.8% of the total human population translating to 65344 persons. The
children population in Nassau County New York is 5.4% of the total population giving a figure of
73512 people (www.census.gov/quickfacts).
The section of the population of interest to be considered for further health research and analysis is
children. This argument and premise stem from the fact that children are the backbone of the human
society and all attention, and positive energy should be

A Small Good Thing Analysis
We all have a tie to food, whether we like it or not we all come from somewhere where a certain food
was a part of a certain celebration. Many of these traditional food celebrations have been passed down
from generation to generation. Many authors have written about what food means to them and how it
doesn t change through the generations. For example, In A small, good thing , by Raymond Carver, the
plot of the story revolves around a child s birthday cake and how the tradition of cake is never
changing. Many other authors such as Sarah Desmarais, Alyssa Kowalczyk and Donovan Duffy, have
also touched upon the idea that food is the one thing in life that will never really change. People will
always change whether it be in height, in width, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both Desmarais and Carvier show through context that even though life could change at any moment
when you sit down to a meal the food always seems to bring back memories and be the same.
Desmarais addresses this when she says, life can be full of frequent change... However, life is also full
of memories and people who can always make things a little easier . The idea of food being more than
just something that keeps you alive is prevalent throughout Desmarais s essay. She focuses on the
memories that she has made with food and how those can brighten her day. The meatballs and
spaghetti that Desmarais describes is not really what she values most. Desmarais believes that the
memories of being at her grandmothers in Rhode Island are the things that will never change. The
meatballs and spaghetti are just the substance that brings these memories back to her. Carvier
addresses this towards the end of his short story with the scene of the two parents starting to get angry
at the baker over the cake. After the baker had been calling for days and neither of the parents had
known who is was the mother finally comes to the realization that is was the son of a bitch baker...
[whom she had] bake a cake for Scotty s birthday... [and that he was] calling [them] to harass [them]
about the cake (Carver, 215). The parents were not actually mad at the baker. He was just their scape
goat for the pain of losing their son. The

Ancient River Valley Civilization
The river valley civilizations had many characteristics that were similar in every valley. Two of these
characteristics are rivers and natural barriers. These can either be advantages or disadvantages. These
advantages and disadvantages can shape how an empire forms, survives, and how long it lasts.
There are many advantages to forming civilizations in ancient river valleys. One of these advantages
was the rivers. The rivers provide irrigation for crops, and when they flood, they deposit fertile soil.
One example of this is Mesopotamia, which is Greek for land between the rivers . Mesopotamia is
also known as the Fertile Crescent, because of this fertile soil. Another one of these advantages was
natural barriers. Natural barriers protection from invaders. One example of this is India, in which the
civilization ended due to earthquakes. India had the Himalayas, the Thar Desert, and two bodies of
water, the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.
There were also many disadvantages to forming civilizations in ancient river valleys. One of these ...

Racial Zoning
Inequality and mistreatment is prevalent in the world today. However, today the world is much closer
to solving its issues as opposed to 100 years ago. Planners are a significant part of that fight, standing
up for what they believe is right and implementing the proper plans and action needed to begin to
solve that issue. While social justice may not be at its peak today, times used to be worse. Formerly,
while trying to improve cities with zoning certain races, religions, and peoples were excluded from the
nice parts of town and even jobs. Zoning began around 1900 when the local government restricted the
height of buildings in Washington District of Columbia. From there, the government realized it could
intervene on private property and the people would allow it (Silver, 1997). As zoning evolved, so did
the type of zoning from height restrictions to land use and eventually to redlining. Silver explains the
extent situation as, the nation s planning movement, not just its Southern branch, regarded land use
controls as an effective social control mechanism for Blacks and other undesirables (p. 2).
Unfortunately for the US and for its citizens, racial zoning is not the only undesirable social norm.
Well known in cities at the time were the City Beautiful movement and the city practical, however,
social issues were merely pushed to the side. Wirka (1996) explains that both are undoubtedly
important movements in the history of planning (p. 57), however, she goes on

Persuasive Essay On How To Change A Tire On Your Car
How to Change a Tire on Your Car
In 2015, I was dating this girl who had never had been taught how to change a tire, check her oil, or
even add antifreeze to her car. I bring this up because she was on her way to meet me up at the beach
at 5:00am so we could do breakfast on the beach and watch the sunrise. On her way to the beach her
car blew a tire and she called me freaking out so I had to go meet her and help her change her tire on
her car. Now I felt bad because she had never been taught how to change her tire so she was stranded
at 5am. To help more people from being stranded at various hours of the day or night I m going to
explain to you how to change your tire.
So, you re tires blown what do you do now? First thing you need to do is go make sure you have a
spear tire or a doughnut tire, jack, and tire iron. If you don t have any of these things call for help.
Now if you do have these things make sure you are enough off the road that you aren t going to be in
the middle of the road when you get under tour car or are working on your car. Also try to be on as flat
of ground as you can be. Go in too your car and turn the hazard lights on so other cars know you re
there and make sure your car is off and wedge soothing in the front tires so your car dose not start to
roll.
Continuing on you need to get out your jack and climb under your car. Now put the base of the jack on
to the frame of the car near the blown tire and start to jack up your car making sure your blown

Political And Economic Similarities And Differences Of The...
During the sixteenth century, both the Ottoman and Tokugawa Japanese empires had political and
economic similarities and differences. Politically, these empires were alike because both had
centralized bureaucracy but different because they had very distinct ways of keeping order within their
empires. Economically, they were similar because both depended on trade yet different because of
their willingness to trade. After close analysis the Tokugawa Japanese empire was more successful
economically.
Politically the Ottoman empire and Tokugawa Japanese empire were similar because each of them
established a central bureaucracy as the head of their government to help maintain a stable yet
effective way of running their empires. In the Ottoman empire, the supreme authority was the sultan
who controlled political and military operations. While the grand vizier, also known as the chief
minister carried the main burden of the state. As the empire started to expand, the status and prestige
of the sultan increased and a centralized administration system was adopted to help maintain order.
The sultan controlled his bureaucracy through an imperial council that met four days a week. The
grand vizier led the council meetings, for which the sultan sat behind a screen overhearing the
proceedings and then privately indicated his desires to the grand vizier. In summary in the Ottoman
the supreme authority was the sultan while the grand vizier carried out the desires of the sultan and

Narrative Essay On Christmas Eve
What do you and your family do on Christmas Eve? Do you consider what you do a tradition or
maybe even a basic tradition? On Christmas Eve, most families end the night watching a Christmas
movie or maybe baking some cookies. But my family does not necessarily go by that. Around ten o
clock my cousins and I gather around the top of my grandparents stairs, waiting for a knock on the
door or the sound of bells with our Christmas onesie on. Every year Santa pays a visit to my
grandparents house with gifts for everyone. Once we all get a present we open it up at the same time, I
never saw anyone frowning. I enjoy how my family tradition is still alive and brings everyone
together, and I hope this tradition will be carried on to my own children.
So who is this Santa?? Well really no one knows besides the parents. Let s just say my family knows a
guy. Now that I am no longer a young one , sitting on a unknown mans lap and him telling you how
much you have grown since the last time he has seen me is just a little creepy. But besides that it is
mainly focused on how everyone still follows this tradition and how my family still gets into it. My
grandparents are the ones to organize the night out. That includes food, the names for secret santa,
pictures and of course having santa stop by with a special delivery. So knowing my grandparents put
so much effort into it making sure it is a memorable night for everyone, makes me realize how
important the tradition is to everyone. This

Compare And Contrast Frankenstein And Pride And Prejudice
Deep, gut wrenching horror and passionate, gripping love: these are what the novels Frankenstein and
Pride and Prejudice, respectively, are chiefly remembered for. The differences in their plotlines are
striking. While Frankenstein tells the story of Victor Frankenstein s creation of a monster and the
havoc that the monster wreaks, Pride and Prejudice recounts the charming and colorful love story of
Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. However, despite the obvious differences in the novels subjects, the
authors of both works share a similar purpose. Both Shelley s Frankenstein and Austen s Pride and
Prejudice depict the dangerous results of hubris with the purpose of warning society to keep one s
pride in check, lest devastating consequences ensue. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both authors caution against becoming too prideful, for excessive pride can be disastrous. This
message is extremely poignant when examining the historical context of Frankenstein and Pride and
Prejudice. During the time period Frankenstein was published, science was making extraordinary
strides. The triumphs of the Enlightenment and the Scientific Revolution instilled a level of
confidence in scientists, and experiments became more and more ambitious. In the wake of this
exponential progress, Frankenstein serves as a reminder that pride should never remain unchecked.
Overconfidence mustn t be allowed to jeopardize one s judgment, and careful considerations must be
made as to the morality and reasonability of one s actions before taking on a task. Frankenstein
became caught up in his passion and in his pride, and thus he was unable to foresee the consequences
of his actions. Though Frankenstein is by no means a censure of scientific progress or
experimentation, it is a cautionary tale that advocates that one should always remember one s own
infallibility, and not become caught up in the quest for success and recognition. Analogously, Pride
and Prejudice can be examined through an analysis of the sociopolitical sentiment of Austen s time
period. In Austen s sphere, a desirable marriage was the ultimate goal for a young lady. However,
Elizabeth nearly jeopardizes her chance of securing just this, as her pride prevents her from merely
liking to Darcy. Though her near loss of Darcy may not immediately appear comparable to
Frankenstein s loss of his friends and family, the particular emphasis placed on marriage as a means of
social mobility in Austen s Regency England would render the potential loss of a favorable marriage a
most devastating outcome. Thus, Elizabeth s ability to finally abandon her pride and secure this match
is particularly poignant. She finally achieves the

Stress Analysis Report
1. Introduction The aim of this experiment was to study the behaviour of a beam subjected to
increasing bending moments and to discover the stress distribution in the beam for both the direct and
shear stresses. This was done by applying a known load to the beam and recording the deflection of
the loading points. These readings were then analysed to give the axial direct strains and stresses as
well as the shear strains as stresses at the sites of the strain gauges. As a result, the stress distribution
of the beam can be calculated. The aluminium alloy beam was tested and had a nominal cross section
50 mm deep by 25 mm wide and was loaded on the 25 mm face. The beam was subjected to a 4 point
bending system to increasing loads up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also dimensions of the beam were given; therefore the second moment of area (I) of the beam can be
calculated. With these values it was possible to use the superposition theorems of beam and calculate
E of the beam using the Formula and Data book hand out. From the Formula and Data book, two
equations can be used to calculate the total deflection of the beam in order to calculate the Young s
Modulus. δ1=Wl12EI×l2 [1] δ2=Wl233EI×l2 [2] Equation 1 describes the deflection due to the
moment acting on the beam. Equation 2 on the other hand describes the deflection caused by the force
due to the cantilever at the end of the beam. The total deflection is there the sum of equations [1] and
[2] which is equal to the deflection obtained from the experiment. Rearranged equations [1] and [2]
will therefore give the Young s Modulus. The Shear modulus (G) is then calculated with the value
obtained of Young s Modulus. This is a shown in equation [3] below; G=E2(1+υ) [3] The direct axial
stress needed next to be calculated. This was done using the reading obtained from the experiment as
the different loads up to 8kN. The strains can be converted into stresses. Starting from the stress strain
relationship, it can be shown that; σx=E(εX+εY)1 υ2 [4] Where εx and εy and the mean strains in the
x and y directions respectively, and v is the Poisson s ratio which is fixed for a particular material and

Thin Layer Chromatography ( Tlc )
Thin layer chromatography (TLC) is a technique used to identify components within a compound and
determine the compounds purity. The purpose of this experiment is to determine what solvent works
the best at separating the different pigments of the paprika extract. The solvents used to develop the
plate are hexane and methyl tert butyl ether (MTBE), as well as three mixtures of the two solutions
(5% MTBE in hexane, 10% MTBE in hexane, and 30% MTBE in hexane). Hexane is a non polar
alkane that is used as a solvent for many different things and MTBE is a polar ether that is used as a
fuel additive. In this experiment, five TLC plates were set up and ran in each of the five prepared
solvents. There are four steps when performing TLC which include: spot (touch the capillary to the
plate briefly so the compound runs out and forms a small spot on the plate), develop (choose a solvent
to develop the plate, then place the slide in the developing chamber), visualize (when the solvent
reaches the stop line, remove and visualize the data), and calculate (measure the distance between the
spot and start line to calculate the Rf values). Rf= Distance traveled by spot Distance traveled by

Hero s Journey Vs Gilgamesh
Modern day books and movies are often variations of ancient stories. There is also a hero in these
stories who has gone through the cycle known as the The Hero s Journey. When looking at Epic of

main characters in Epic of Gilgamesh, Enkidu and Gilgamesh can be compared to Toy Story s two
main characters Woody and Buzz. This comparison can be told by The Hero s Journey. There are a

In Epic of Gilgamesh, Enkidu and Gilgamesh have reached the forest to fight Humbaba. When faced
upon him Enkidu begs Gilgamesh to kill him. Gilgamesh realizes Enkidu s cruelty and his way of

victory. Ishtar, the goddess of love and war has fallen in love with Gilgamesh after his battle and
wants to marry him. He refuses, which causes her to send the Bull of Heaven, which Gilgamesh also
ends up killing. This is the highpoint in the friendship between Enkidu and Gilgamesh because in
ways they have changed each other. Enkidu is no longer the man from the wild and his behavior is that
of Gilgamesh in the beginning. Gilgamesh has become more aware of his doing, for example his
hesitance of killing Humbaba. Their roles have changed and they both seem to mirror one another. In

Sound Of Music Analysis
The Sound of Music was released in 1965. Robert Wise directed it. It starred Julies Andrews,
Christopher Plummer, Eleanor Parker, Peggy Wood, and Richard Haydn. The movie is based on the
book The Story of the Trapp Family Singers, which was written by the real Maria von Trapp in 1949.
The location was of course Austria and the movie was set in the 1930s during the time when the Nazi
rule was taking over Austria. According to IMDB (international movies data base), the film s budget
was $8,200,00 but it exceeded that and is now the 3rd highest grossing film after Star Wars and Gone
with the Wind at $163,214,286. The film won 5 academy awards. It won Best picture, best director,
best music, best sound recording, and best film editing. The reason this film is important to film
history is because it portrays the link between the reel world in a musical and the real world. Some of
the questions that will be answered in this essay are; since the film was based on book, how similar or
different were the two? Does the film make the real story better or worse? How is the utopian factor
implemented in the film? Did the film use mostly professional actors or were they a good mix of
professional and amateur actors? What were the lead actors known for before they were cast in this
film?

Diagnosis Of Benign Scrotal Surgical Specimens
Abstract
Purpose: We recently demonstrated that pathologic analysis of benign scrotal surgical specimens may
be unnecessarily increasing costs of patient care. Adult circumcision specimens may also routinely be
sent for pathological analysis even when penile cancer is not suspected, increasing costs with little
benefit. To assess the utility of foreskin pathology analysis, we evaluated the outcomes and the costs
of this practice in patients where penile cancer was not suspected.
Materials and Methods: All adult patients who underwent circumcision between January 2000 and
August 2013 at a single institution were evaluated by retrospective chart review. Cases of suspected
penile cancer (n=6) were excluded. We identified cases where foreskin specimens were sent for
pathological analysis and reviewed pathology reports. Our Department of Pathology estimated the cost
for evaluation of specimens at $311 per case.
Results: A total of 147 circumcisions were performed in patients with no suspicious findings.
Pathologic analysis was obtained in 69% (101/147) of the cases. Inflammation (58%) was the most
common finding. One unsuspected instance of squamous cell carcinoma (Tis) was identified in a
patient with HIV (1/147=0.7%). The overall cost of pathology analysis in this study was $31,411.
Conclusions: In individuals without predisposing immunodeficiency and where cancer was not
suspected, we found that pathology analysis of circumcision specimens identified no additional

Use Of Suspense In The Abandoned Farmhouse
Text Connection Essay Watch out! screamed Maggie. Suddenly the road took a sharp turn, and a huge
oak tree loomed in my headlights (Shusterman 39). When Neal Shusterman uses suspense it s usually
in a way that would probably end badly. He loves to try and hook the reader with suspense, so then the
readers would want to keep reading that same book. As evidence in Full Tilt by Neal Shusterman and
The Abandoned Farmhouse by Ted Kooser, suspense can be effectively created through the use of
imagery. Neal Shusterman effectively uses imagery to create suspense in his novel, Full Tilt. All at
once the train swung around an outside curve, its riders screaming with joy, completely unaware of

imagery because, it is showing how Quinn is on the track of the roller coaster, and the coaster was
probably going to hit Quinn. This quote creates suspense by showing how Blake s brother could ve
gotten hit or killed if he hadn t grabbed him off the tracks, and that leaves the readers thinking, what s

mist like a riverboat paddle (Shusterman 40). This quote shows the method of imagery by giving a
deeply descriptive sentence about what the sky looks like. This quote creates suspense because, right

Lucy Maud Montgomery s Anne Of Green Gables
Lucy Maud Montgomery s novel Anne of Green Gables (1908) is about a young orphaned girl named
Anne Shirley who was mistakenly given to Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, who wanted to adopt a boy
to help with their farm. However, to their surprise it was Anne that was given to them, although there
was hesitation at first to keep her they would soon never regret their decision. Anne is a smart, fun
loving, vivacious girl full of imagination who loves to talk up a storm; all of these characteristic
helped her capture the hearts of her guardians and everyone she met in her new found home in
Avonlea. Anne says, I m glad to think of getting home. You see, I ve never had a real home since I can

In the film, upon Anne s arrival, Marilla puts her through a trial period before she officially decides to
keep her. However, in the novel once Marilla decides to keep Anne the word is final. Anne and
Gilberts relationship was also developed differently in the film. In the novel, it was a long standing
rivalry between the two, which eventually blossomed into a friendship. This can been seen during the
end of the novel when Gilbert gives up the school for her and Marilla notices them talking, she states,
I didn t think you and Gilbert Blythe were such good friends... We haven t been we ve been good
enemies. But we have decided that it will be much more sensible to be good friends... (306). However,
the film romanticized their relationship through their interactions with one another. For instance,
during the ball Anne acknowledges Gilbert in hopes of him asking her to dance, but he ignores Anne
and compliments her friend Diana to try to make her jealous, which works. This romantic side of Anne
is not seen in the novel and therefore, it is out of her

Island Made Thesis
How was the Island Made
By:Jonah Jacksteit
Thesis Statement This report will talk about how the marooned island got made.
An island 2000 km south of Hawai i. The island is at 1°52 23.40 N and 157°19 6.69 W and spans 717
square kilometers of land. On this land there were volcanoes but after some time they got eroded
away. In this report I will prove that there was a volcano on the island and I will do so by stating how
the plants, climate, location and animals prove that there was a volcano.
Plants There are very few native plants on the island. The only plants that are on the island are
breadfruit trees, pandanus trees, pawpaw trees, coconut trees, babai(a type of taro root), mosses and
mangrove trees. There are also yams lemons, and sugarcane as non tree plants. These seeds for plants
probably got transported to the island by birds except for the coconuts because there aren t any land
borders to any other island. Because there are no land boarders it gives us some evidence that the
island got made by a volcano.

year round are 28C 32C with humidity. These temperatures indicate that the island is not that far from

volcanoes. By having the volcanoes here before, it evaporated more water, which added pressure in
the air, which then added

Afl Case Study
Usage of normal distribution in AFL
The Australian Football League (AFL) is a multi million dollar sports industry consisting of 18 teams
that are spread over five states of Australia. In this section, two data sets containing the weight and
height of all the players in the 18 AFL teams was analysed to determine whether using normal
distribution to describe them is suitable.
As discussed in the previous section, a normal distribution has particular characteristics it conforms to.
i.e. It has most of its data concentrated near the centre of the distribution The distribution is
symmetrical around its mean Has a bell shaped curve The mean, mode and median of the data set is
the same Follows the empirical rule

Since in a normal distribution, the curve is symmetrical, skewness can affect the accuracy to which
normal distribution can be applied to a data set. To determine how close the distribution of the weight
of the AFL population is to being normal, the degree of skewness was found as a large degree of
skewness would reduce the practicality of applying normal distribution to the data set.
To find the coefficient of skewness (a measure of the degree of skewness), the mean, mode and
standard deviation was needed. Due to the large data size, a computer program was used to obtain the
necessary information. The data set was inserted into the program (One Variable Analysis by Haese
and Harris Publications) which then analysed it and produce the required result. The information
collected is displayed below with the result for the mean rounded to 87 from 86.964 and the standard
deviation to 8.2 from 8.2375. This was done for convenience however it did reduce the precision of

A Hospital s Emergency Room
Bioterrorism/Disaster Plan
A hospital s emergency room (ER) is typically the site for initial presentation of patients from a
disaster or bioterrorism event. Consequently, nurses working in the ER setting are the first to treat
these patients. Thus it is of great importance to have a plan in place that can effectively meet the
unique needs of this type of situation. As a nurse employed in the ER at Good Samaritan Hospital
(GSH) in Vincennes, Indiana, I will be one of the first to see patients from a disaster. As a result, our
ER has its own set criteria that fits into the overall disaster plan of the hospital. Since the ER is the
primary intake location at GSH, I chose to evaluate our ER s disaster plan.
Disaster Analysis
Chain of Authority
The effectiveness of a disaster plan is dependent on its chain of authority which establishes lines of
communication and routes of transport, (Allender, Rector, Warner, 2014). At GSH, when central
command announces a disaster, the nursing house supervisor notifies the hospital administrator on call
that a disaster is impending and the nursing supervisor then activates the disaster plan. He or she
notified the charge nurses on each unit in the hospital via a house wide web page and the units prepare
for the influx of patients. On each unit, the charge nurse notifies the staff on that unit. Within the ER,
the charge nurse designates a physician or physician s assistant (PA) as head of the triage intake area
and assigns him or her

Niki Caro s Techniques In Whale Rider
In the prominent historical movie Whale Rider directed by Niki Caro, she wished to convey the
immensely significant idea that anybody should be able to be a leader, male or not. She wanted people
to realise all of the females that ve been misused in this society because they are not good enough for
power roles. Caro used a variety of techniques to help the reader understand this idea. These include:
Voice over, close up shot and dialogue. The significant idea in this movie that anybody should be able
to be a leader, male or not, that means that the leader should not necessarily have to be a male it can be
a female too, because females are equally competent and can be just as proficient at being a leader as
males can. For example, in this movie 12 year old Paikea Apirana was far from what he Grandfather,
Koro Apirana, wanted for a leader for his traditional Māori tribe (Ngati Konohi) because of one thing,
she was a girl. She would be a perfect leader, she was smart, charismatic, determined, courageous,
fluent in Te Reo Māori and strong. These attributes are present throughout the story and is displayed in
many different scenes in the movie. But just because of the simple fact that she is born female she is
constrained with her opportunities. One of the first techniques ... Show more content on

America And Its Homeland Security Online Essay
America and Its Homeland Security Online
Abstract: Everyday security is provided by the states and federal government. These tasks get more
difficult as new technology introduces itself. Cybersecurity is one of the most popular security sectors
in today s world. There is not only cyberbullying going on in the world. Terrorism can be planned and
sent from person to person over the internet. People s identities are being stole to help carry out these
terrorist acts and this is just the being of it. The United States created the Department of Homeland
Security as a result of the 9/11 attacks. This was an effort to prevent future terrorist attacks on our
nation. Along with that department, laws have been enacted, such as the USA PATRIOT Act. This law
was introduced and passed to provide Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies with better
resources to fight and stand up against terrorism. The way to successfully providing security against
domestic and international terrorists is to understand the mentality of a terrorist. Critical assessments,
more efficient alert systems, and physical security standards must improve in order to solidify our
current security posture if the United States wants to deter future terrorist attacks against its culture
and economy. So let us all start at the very beginning. What is the major threat behind cyber terrorism
and cyber vandalism? Once you take a major look at the early years, the internet and websites were

Who... what... are you..., she mutters, absently blinking at the thing before her.
Why, dear, it replies chipperly, I m you!
Leave me alone, she croaks, closing her eyes in defeat.
Ah, ah, ah, it giggles, Not so fast!
It grips Cassandra s arms in it s own, pulling her up with an inhuman strength. The small girl lets out a

Stop! Stop, please! I ll get up!

You ll injure the patient, you idiot!
The room is filled with yelling and arguing voices, all the while Cassandra s mother stands idly by.

wrongly understood, as it has been so tragically in our time, it leads first to conformity and then to

Piano Types: The Grand Piano
Without dipping into the history too much, here s the gist: the grand piano, as we know it, appeared on
the scene around the year 1700, courtesy of Cristofori. Since then, we have seen a number of
variations and changes, and you can basically take your pick regarding size and capabilities.
Believe it or not, the term grand didn t always apply exclusively to horizontal pianos it simply referred
to the length of the strings. Over time, though, Grand Pianos have become entirely horizontal, and
upright pianos are never referred to as grand.

Analysis Of The Book Muckraker By Jacob Riis
This is a book was written by Jacob Riis, who was a muckraking journalist. Muckraker was a
journalist who pushed for reform in publications that covered the issues of society for the middle and
wealthy classes. In this book, Riis made a photographic report about the life of poor people in the
tenements of New York. In the beginning, Riis described a raid which was made by policemen. The
object of that raid was the stale beer dives. He said that the squads sent to make simultaneous control
on all tramp s lair in the area. After that, they caught several tramps and sent them to the police station.
Then, Riis described a room of one tenement. There was a dirty floor, broken chair, and many things
that it shouldn t in the memory of the man. In that place, there was a group of poor people. The
policemen broke into that room and surrounded those people. There was a thirteen person in that dirty
room. The police took them and went to another location. In another location, the policemen found
seventy five men and women and arrested them in four small rooms. When they went back to the
police station, there were two hundred seventy five tramps, who were captured by policemen, packed
them into groups to be arraigned in the police court. He said that the tramps might be sent to an island
for six months. After that, he described the people s life in that area which known as the bend . He said

Riboflavin Vs Acetic Acid
Abstract
In this experiment, a spectrophotofluorometer Shimadzu RF 5301 was used to determine the
concentration of unknown riboflavin with 5% v/v acetic acid of 10 ppm standard riboflavin solution.
An external calibration was performed in using 5 standard known concentrations of riboflavin and
plotting a calibration curve. The LOD and LOQ were 0.0622 mg/L and 21.3 mg/L respectively. The
calibration curve enabled for the determination of the unknown (3013) concentration of riboflavin at
0.37416 mg/L in which linear regression was used to determine the slope and intercept of the curve.

In this experiment, the use of a glass cuvette was used in order to avoid any chemical or
environmental interference from the surroundings. Furthermore such glass cuvettes can support large
wavelengths during transmission of light beyond 320 nm since this is the excitation wavelength
region. Riboflavin is excited at around 370 nm, therefore the wavelength range must be large in order
to detect a proper response. Plastic cuvettes are however inadequate as the range of wavelengths
supported for transmission of light is very limited (5, Upstone). The geometry of the instrument of the
spectrophotofluorometer has a specific angle and position for the excitation source and the detector.
The excitation polychromator emits ultra violet radiation and light to the interested sample and the
shape of the polychromator resembles a triangular prism in which the monochromator has been angled
at a 90∘ position. The transducer would detect the irradiation excitation beam and transfers it through
the emission polychromator. The emitted beam would then travel to the detector to allow for the
response signal to appear for the sample on the computer system (416, Skoog). The position of the
cuvette is essential as it enables for the consistent readings of the response signals, as any shift in the
cuvette position can create variation in results due to the position of lighting and detection of
molecular samples hitting at different angles. The process of fluorescence is quite sensitive than
absorption due to having lower detection limits because of the fact that it can detect lone molecules in
excited states that are irradiated by UV light unless they come into contact with other molecules

The Case Morse Vs. Frederick
In the case Morse Vs. Frederick, a supreme court case that questioned the first amendment, the main
argument set out by Frederick was that the school s principal, Morse, was that Morse violated
Fredericks first amendment right. Juneau Douglas High School was in session during the Olympic
Torch Relay for the 2002 winter Olympics. The school decided that it would let its students and
faculty out for a short period to watch as the torchbearers passed the school. This was considered a
school event and was treated as a field trip. Joseph Frederick was a senior at JDHS. He was a bit late
coming to school that day. When Frederick arrived to school during the event, he met up with some of
his friends. They soon pulled out fourteen foot banner that had the phrase: BONG HiTS 4 JESUS .
The school s principal, Deborah Morse, almost immediately told the students to take down the banner.
All but one student complied with Morse. That student was Joseph Frederick. She told the boys to take
the sign down because she believed that the sign was encouraging the use of illegal drugs in school.
She told Frederick to report to her office where she later punished him by suspending him for ten
days. Frederick believed that his constitutional rights were being denied and that the first amendment
was violated in the process. Frederick sued Morse claiming that the school violated his first
amendment. Morse explained that she was not violating the first amendment because the school has a

Government in Upper and Lower Canada
The need for government reform in Upper and Lower Canada was created because of the incompetent
way the government managed the country, a lack of representation in the government, a lack of
understanding of the colonist s in Upper and Lower Canada, and discrimination towards the French in
Lower Canada. Numerous colonists arrived to Upper and Lower Canada to begin a new life with a
proper government however, the government in Canada did not satisfy their needs. Firstly, the
unskilled way the government ran Upper and Lower Canada upset the colonists. This included a lack
of land for the colonists, even though they were promised land when they arrived in British North
America. Settlers were unhappy about land distribution particularly about the clergy and crown
reserves and the land speculators that were part of the Family Compact. Also, absentee landlords
overpriced and tied up prime land. The settlers were also unhappy that the building of roadways was
hindered by the clergy and crown reserves. The colonists were unhappy with the government and the
colonists complained loudly about land and roads. Most knew that the Family Compact was to blame
and they did not disguise their anger (Pg. 66). This meant that the colonists were aware that the
Family Compact was responsible for this problem because they completely ignored the colonist s
complaints and they did not do anything to help them. They could veto any laws passed by the

pentasaccharides attached to asparagine via a beta linkage to the amine nitrogen of the side chain.
Alternately, oligosaccharides that are O linked are commonly attached to threonine or serine on the
alcohol group of the side chain. Not all natural oligosaccharides occur as components of glycoproteins

  • 6. A Small Good Thing Analysis We all have a tie to food, whether we like it or not we all come from somewhere where a certain food was a part of a certain celebration. Many of these traditional food celebrations have been passed down from generation to generation. Many authors have written about what food means to them and how it doesn t change through the generations. For example, In A small, good thing , by Raymond Carver, the plot of the story revolves around a child s birthday cake and how the tradition of cake is never changing. Many other authors such as Sarah Desmarais, Alyssa Kowalczyk and Donovan Duffy, have also touched upon the idea that food is the one thing in life that will never really change. People will always change whether it be in height, in width, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both Desmarais and Carvier show through context that even though life could change at any moment when you sit down to a meal the food always seems to bring back memories and be the same. Desmarais addresses this when she says, life can be full of frequent change... However, life is also full of memories and people who can always make things a little easier . The idea of food being more than just something that keeps you alive is prevalent throughout Desmarais s essay. She focuses on the memories that she has made with food and how those can brighten her day. The meatballs and spaghetti that Desmarais describes is not really what she values most. Desmarais believes that the memories of being at her grandmothers in Rhode Island are the things that will never change. The meatballs and spaghetti are just the substance that brings these memories back to her. Carvier addresses this towards the end of his short story with the scene of the two parents starting to get angry at the baker over the cake. After the baker had been calling for days and neither of the parents had known who is was the mother finally comes to the realization that is was the son of a bitch baker... • 8. Racial Zoning Inequality and mistreatment is prevalent in the world today. However, today the world is much closer to solving its issues as opposed to 100 years ago. Planners are a significant part of that fight, standing up for what they believe is right and implementing the proper plans and action needed to begin to solve that issue. While social justice may not be at its peak today, times used to be worse. Formerly, while trying to improve cities with zoning certain races, religions, and peoples were excluded from the nice parts of town and even jobs. Zoning began around 1900 when the local government restricted the height of buildings in Washington District of Columbia. From there, the government realized it could intervene on private property and the people would allow it (Silver, 1997). As zoning evolved, so did the type of zoning from height restrictions to land use and eventually to redlining. Silver explains the extent situation as, the nation s planning movement, not just its Southern branch, regarded land use controls as an effective social control mechanism for Blacks and other undesirables (p. 2). Unfortunately for the US and for its citizens, racial zoning is not the only undesirable social norm. Well known in cities at the time were the City Beautiful movement and the city practical, however, social issues were merely pushed to the side. During the sixteenth century, both the Ottoman and Tokugawa Japanese empires had political and economic similarities and differences. Politically, these empires were alike because both had centralized bureaucracy but different because they had very distinct ways of keeping order within their empires. Economically, they were similar because both depended on trade yet different because of their willingness to trade. After close analysis the Tokugawa Japanese empire was more successful economically. Politically the Ottoman empire and Tokugawa Japanese empire were similar because each of them established a central bureaucracy as the head of their government to help maintain a stable yet effective way of running their empires. In the Ottoman empire, the supreme authority was the sultan who controlled political and military operations. While the grand vizier, also known as the chief minister carried the main burden of the state. As the empire started to expand, the status and prestige of the sultan increased and a centralized administration system was adopted to help maintain order. The sultan controlled his bureaucracy through an imperial council that met four days a week. On Christmas Eve, most families end the night watching a Christmas movie or maybe baking some cookies. But my family does not necessarily go by that. Around ten o clock my cousins and I gather around the top of my grandparents stairs, waiting for a knock on the door or the sound of bells with our Christmas onesie on. Every year Santa pays a visit to my grandparents house with gifts for everyone. Once we all get a present we open it up at the same time, I never saw anyone frowning. I enjoy how my family tradition is still alive and brings everyone together, and I hope this tradition will be carried on to my own children. So who is this Santa?? Well really no one knows besides the parents. Let s just say my family knows a guy. Now that I am no longer a young one , sitting on a unknown mans lap and him telling you how much you have grown since the last time he has seen me is just a little creepy. But besides that it is mainly focused on how everyone still follows this tradition and how my family still gets into it. My grandparents are the ones to organize the night out. That includes food, the names for secret santa, pictures and of course having santa stop by with a special delivery. So knowing my grandparents put so much effort into it making sure it is a memorable night for everyone, makes me realize how important the tradition is to everyone. This ... • 12. Compare And Contrast Frankenstein And Pride And Prejudice Deep, gut wrenching horror and passionate, gripping love: these are what the novels Frankenstein and Pride and Prejudice, respectively, are chiefly remembered for. The differences in their plotlines are striking. While Frankenstein tells the story of Victor Frankenstein s creation of a monster and the havoc that the monster wreaks, Pride and Prejudice recounts the charming and colorful love story of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. However, despite the obvious differences in the novels subjects, the authors of both works share a similar purpose. Both Shelley s Frankenstein and Austen s Pride and Prejudice depict the dangerous results of hubris with the purpose of warning society to keep one s pride in check, lest devastating consequences ensue. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both authors caution against becoming too prideful, for excessive pride can be disastrous. This message is extremely poignant when examining the historical context of Frankenstein and Pride and Prejudice. During the time period Frankenstein was published, science was making extraordinary strides. The triumphs of the Enlightenment and the Scientific Revolution instilled a level of confidence in scientists, and experiments became more and more ambitious. In the wake of this exponential progress, Frankenstein serves as a reminder that pride should never remain unchecked. Overconfidence mustn t be allowed to jeopardize one s judgment, and careful considerations must be made as to the morality and reasonability of one s actions before taking on a task. Frankenstein became caught up in his passion and in his pride, and thus he was unable to foresee the consequences of his actions. Though Frankenstein is by no means a censure of scientific progress or experimentation, it is a cautionary tale that advocates that one should always remember one s own infallibility, and not become caught up in the quest for success and recognition. Analogously, Pride and Prejudice can be examined through an analysis of the sociopolitical sentiment of Austen s time period. In Austen s sphere, a desirable marriage was the ultimate goal for a young lady. However, Elizabeth nearly jeopardizes her chance of securing just this, as her pride prevents her from merely liking to Darcy. Though her near loss of Darcy may not immediately appear comparable to Frankenstein s loss of his friends and family, the particular emphasis placed on marriage as a means of social mobility in Austen s Regency England would render the potential loss of a favorable marriage a most devastating outcome. Thus, Elizabeth s ability to finally abandon her pride and secure this match is particularly poignant. She finally achieves the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Stress Analysis Report 1. Introduction The aim of this experiment was to study the behaviour of a beam subjected to increasing bending moments and to discover the stress distribution in the beam for both the direct and shear stresses. This was done by applying a known load to the beam and recording the deflection of the loading points. These readings were then analysed to give the axial direct strains and stresses as well as the shear strains as stresses at the sites of the strain gauges. As a result, the stress distribution of the beam can be calculated. The aluminium alloy beam was tested and had a nominal cross section 50 mm deep by 25 mm wide and was loaded on the 25 mm face. The beam was subjected to a 4 point bending system to increasing loads up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also dimensions of the beam were given; therefore the second moment of area (I) of the beam can be calculated. With these values it was possible to use the superposition theorems of beam and calculate E of the beam using the Formula and Data book hand out. From the Formula and Data book, two equations can be used to calculate the total deflection of the beam in order to calculate the Young s Modulus. δ1=Wl12EI×l2 [1] δ2=Wl233EI×l2 [2] Equation 1 describes the deflection due to the moment acting on the beam. Equation 2 on the other hand describes the deflection caused by the force due to the cantilever at the end of the beam. The total deflection is there the sum of equations [1] and [2] which is equal to the deflection obtained from the experiment. Rearranged equations [1] and [2] will therefore give the Young s Modulus. The Shear modulus (G) is then calculated with the value obtained of Young s Modulus. This is a shown in equation [3] below; G=E2(1+υ) [3] The direct axial stress needed next to be calculated. This was done using the reading obtained from the experiment as the different loads up to 8kN. The strains can be converted into stresses. Starting from the stress strain relationship, it can be shown that; σx=E(εX+εY)1 υ2 [4] Where εx and εy and the mean strains in the x and y directions respectively, and v is the Poisson s ratio which is fixed for a particular material and is also used in ... • 14. Thin Layer Chromatography ( Tlc ) Thin layer chromatography (TLC) is a technique used to identify components within a compound and determine the compounds purity. The purpose of this experiment is to determine what solvent works the best at separating the different pigments of the paprika extract. The solvents used to develop the plate are hexane and methyl tert butyl ether (MTBE), as well as three mixtures of the two solutions (5% MTBE in hexane, 10% MTBE in hexane, and 30% MTBE in hexane). Hexane is a non polar alkane that is used as a solvent for many different things and MTBE is a polar ether that is used as a fuel additive. In this experiment, five TLC plates were set up and ran in each of the five prepared solvents. There are four steps when performing TLC which include: spot (touch the capillary to the plate briefly so the compound runs out and forms a small spot on the plate), develop (choose a solvent to develop the plate, then place the slide in the developing chamber), visualize (when the solvent reaches the stop line, remove and visualize the data), and calculate (measure the distance between the spot and start line to calculate the Rf values). • 18. Diagnosis Of Benign Scrotal Surgical Specimens Abstract Purpose: We recently demonstrated that pathologic analysis of benign scrotal surgical specimens may be unnecessarily increasing costs of patient care. Adult circumcision specimens may also routinely be sent for pathological analysis even when penile cancer is not suspected, increasing costs with little benefit. To assess the utility of foreskin pathology analysis, we evaluated the outcomes and the costs of this practice in patients where penile cancer was not suspected. Materials and Methods: All adult patients who underwent circumcision between January 2000 and August 2013 at a single institution were evaluated by retrospective chart review. Cases of suspected penile cancer (n=6) were excluded. We identified cases where foreskin specimens were sent for pathological analysis and reviewed pathology reports. Our Department of Pathology estimated the cost for evaluation of specimens at $311 per case. Results: A total of 147 circumcisions were performed in patients with no suspicious findings. Pathologic analysis was obtained in 69% (101/147) of the cases. Inflammation (58%) was the most common finding. One unsuspected instance of squamous cell carcinoma (Tis) was identified in a patient with HIV (1/147=0.7%). The overall cost of pathology analysis in this study was $31,411. Conclusions: In individuals without predisposing immunodeficiency and where cancer was not suspected, we found that pathology analysis of circumcision specimens identified no additional ... When Neal Shusterman uses suspense it s usually in a way that would probably end badly. He loves to try and hook the reader with suspense, so then the readers would want to keep reading that same book. As evidence in Full Tilt by Neal Shusterman and The Abandoned Farmhouse by Ted Kooser, suspense can be effectively created through the use of imagery. Neal Shusterman effectively uses imagery to create suspense in his novel, Full Tilt. All at once the train swung around an outside curve, its riders screaming with joy, completely unaware of my idiot brother directly in their path (Shusterman 8). This quote from Full Tilt is an example of imagery because, it is showing how Quinn is on the track of the roller coaster, and the coaster was probably going to hit Quinn. This quote creates suspense by showing how Blake s brother could ve gotten hit or killed if he hadn t grabbed him off the tracks, and that leaves the readers thinking, what s going to happen. I could see the very top of a Ferris wheel rising above the fog, churning the moonlit mist like a riverboat paddle (Shusterman 40). The island is at 1°52 23.40 N and 157°19 6.69 W and spans 717 square kilometers of land. On this land there were volcanoes but after some time they got eroded away. In this report I will prove that there was a volcano on the island and I will do so by stating how the plants, climate, location and animals prove that there was a volcano. Plants There are very few native plants on the island. The only plants that are on the island are breadfruit trees, pandanus trees, pawpaw trees, coconut trees, babai(a type of taro root), mosses and mangrove trees. There are also yams lemons, and sugarcane as non tree plants. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since in a normal distribution, the curve is symmetrical, skewness can affect the accuracy to which normal distribution can be applied to a data set. To determine how close the distribution of the weight of the AFL population is to being normal, the degree of skewness was found as a large degree of skewness would reduce the practicality of applying normal distribution to the data set. To find the coefficient of skewness (a measure of the degree of skewness), the mean, mode and standard deviation was needed. Due to the large data size, a computer program was used to obtain the necessary information. The data set was inserted into the program (One Variable Analysis by Haese and Harris Publications) which then analysed it and produce the required result. The information collected is displayed below with the result for the mean rounded to 87 from 86.964 and the standard deviation to 8.2 from 8.2375. • 23. A Hospital s Emergency Room Bioterrorism/Disaster Plan A hospital s emergency room (ER) is typically the site for initial presentation of patients from a disaster or bioterrorism event. Consequently, nurses working in the ER setting are the first to treat these patients. Thus it is of great importance to have a plan in place that can effectively meet the unique needs of this type of situation. As a nurse employed in the ER at Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH) in Vincennes, Indiana, I will be one of the first to see patients from a disaster. As a result, our ER has its own set criteria that fits into the overall disaster plan of the hospital. Since the ER is the primary intake location at GSH, I chose to evaluate our ER s disaster plan. Disaster Analysis Chain of Authority The effectiveness of a disaster plan is dependent on its chain of authority which establishes lines of communication and routes of transport, (Allender, Rector, Warner, 2014). At GSH, when central command announces a disaster, the nursing house supervisor notifies the hospital administrator on call that a disaster is impending and the nursing supervisor then activates the disaster plan. He or she notified the charge nurses on each unit in the hospital via a house wide web page and the units prepare for the influx of patients. On each unit, the charge nurse notifies the staff on that unit. Within the ER, the charge nurse designates a physician or physician s assistant (PA) as head of the triage intake area and assigns him or her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Niki Caro s Techniques In Whale Rider In the prominent historical movie Whale Rider directed by Niki Caro, she wished to convey the immensely significant idea that anybody should be able to be a leader, male or not. She wanted people to realise all of the females that ve been misused in this society because they are not good enough for power roles. Caro used a variety of techniques to help the reader understand this idea. These include: Voice over, close up shot and dialogue. The significant idea in this movie that anybody should be able to be a leader, male or not, that means that the leader should not necessarily have to be a male it can be a female too, because females are equally competent and can be just as proficient at being a leader as males can. For example, in this movie 12 year old Paikea Apirana was far from what he Grandfather, Koro Apirana, wanted for a leader for his traditional Māori tribe (Ngati Konohi) because of one thing, she was a girl. She would be a perfect leader, she was smart, charismatic, determined, courageous, fluent in Te Reo Māori and strong. These tasks get more difficult as new technology introduces itself. Cybersecurity is one of the most popular security sectors in today s world. There is not only cyberbullying going on in the world. Terrorism can be planned and sent from person to person over the internet. People s identities are being stole to help carry out these terrorist acts and this is just the being of it. The United States created the Department of Homeland Security as a result of the 9/11 attacks. This was an effort to prevent future terrorist attacks on our nation. Along with that department, laws have been enacted, such as the USA PATRIOT Act. This law was introduced and passed to provide Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies with better resources to fight and stand up against terrorism. The way to successfully providing security against domestic and international terrorists is to understand the mentality of a terrorist. The object of that raid was the stale beer dives. He said that the squads sent to make simultaneous control on all tramp s lair in the area. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this experiment, the use of a glass cuvette was used in order to avoid any chemical or environmental interference from the surroundings. Furthermore such glass cuvettes can support large wavelengths during transmission of light beyond 320 nm since this is the excitation wavelength region. Riboflavin is excited at around 370 nm, therefore the wavelength range must be large in order to detect a proper response. Plastic cuvettes are however inadequate as the range of wavelengths supported for transmission of light is very limited (5, Upstone). The geometry of the instrument of the spectrophotofluorometer has a specific angle and position for the excitation source and the detector. The excitation polychromator emits ultra violet radiation and light to the interested sample and the shape of the polychromator resembles a triangular prism in which the monochromator has been angled at a 90∘ position. The transducer would detect the irradiation excitation beam and transfers it through the emission polychromator. The emitted beam would then travel to the detector to allow for the response signal to appear for the sample on the computer system (416, Skoog). The position of the cuvette is essential as it enables for the consistent readings of the response signals, as any shift in the cuvette position can create variation in results due to the position of lighting and detection of molecular samples hitting at different angles. The process of fluorescence is quite sensitive than absorption due to having lower detection limits because of the fact that it can detect lone molecules in excited states that are irradiated by UV light unless they come into contact with other molecules within ... She told the boys to take the sign down because she believed that the sign was encouraging the use of illegal drugs in school. She told Frederick to report to her office where she later punished him by suspending him for ten days.
