The majority of the targets for the Sustainable Development Goal of conserving ocean and marine
resources were measurable and can be attained through sensible efforts and dedication. However,
targets 14.1 and 14.2 were not as fully measurable as others due to vague execution methods for
addressing the issue in concern. To further explain, target 14.1 has a measurable target of reducing
pollution, but does not further elaborate on how to do so. Furthermore, target 14.2 addresses the
measurable requirement to protect oceanic and marine ecosystems, yet the approaches to solving the
problem included strengthening their resilience, and taking action... , which appear to sound vague and
immeasurable (UNSDKP). Therefore, a good approach to dealing with these issues is to educate and
raise awareness to the public about the harmful consequences of polluting the ocean. Moreover,
targets 14.3 and 14.4 were substantially more measurable and addressed a direct, realistic solution to
the issues. These targets discuss ocean acidification and overfishing respectively, both being
measurable since acidity levels and fish population can be measured overtime. The direct solution to
both issues is scientific cooperation, where a scientific approach is most likely able to resolve these
matters. Likewise targets 14.5 and 14.6 are measurable because land area and subsidies can be

Summary
Since 1985 there has been a tremendous increase in research regarding intrapersonal forgiveness, but
very little regarding self forgiveness. The purpose of this article was to bring attention to the topic of
self forgiveness within this growing body of research. The definitions of self forgiveness from many
disciplines were reviewed along with what features of self forgiveness differ from those of
intrapersonal forgiveness emphasizing the need for an increase in empirical research on the subject

The simple act of defining self forgiveness in a way that is applicable across disciplines provides
counselor and researchers a better starting point when approaching the topic of self forgiveness.
One concept I found very interesting was the distinction between true self forgiveness and pseudo self
forgiveness. It is intuitive for me to believe that it is not possible for pseudo self forgiveness to have
the same effect as true self forgiveness, but with out research on the matter how can one be sure.
When I read that the test for self forgiveness cannot differentiate between the two, it made me wonder
if it is difficult for a person or a counselor to know the difference. It also made me wonder if it is
possible that simply believing that things are better can actually make someone feel better.
I also found the question regarding the appropriateness of self forgiveness to be interesting. When a
person believes something is their fault that is not, what approach should a counselor take? Is it more
appropriate to spend the time and effort on developing the skills to know what happened was not the
client s fault, or is it more appropriate to provide the skills that will allow the person to forgive his or
herself for what they believed they caused to happen? While this would have to be considered on a
case by case basis, as a counselor it would be helpful to have more research on the topic that results in

Classroom Safety
In my school there are different safety policies for the events, but one thing stays the same throughout
all of the safety policies and that is the bag. Each classroom has the red bag that hangs behind the
door. Inside the red bag is three cards red, green, and yellow that are about the size of conduction
paper and made of plastic. The red card is for a missing student, the yellow for an extra student and
the green for all is good. Inside this bag is also an a set of instructions for every disaster along with a
class roll for both of their blocks, a loud whistle and some latex gloves and Band Aids in a small bag
of their own. In every safety policy the teacher is supposed to bring the bag with them, and

Posters hung of these gladiators upcoming battles and tallies were posted of these individual gladiators
records. Gladiatorial battles truly morphed into a game to the audience, as fans placed bets on who
would win each battle. These gladiators were no longer looked at as human beings, but rather as
bodies in a blood battle. These battles were so gruesome in order to entertain and appease the large
audiences. The gladiators went to all costs when it came to the arena battles, and even created their
own fighting styles in order to make the battles more interesting. I had no idea that gladiatorial battles
were such an art, and that there were so many gladiatorial fighting styles implemented. Gladiators
were armed with various weapons and had different fighting techniques. Some gladiators rode into the
arena on horseback, known as equites , as a scare tactic before he fought his opponent. Others carried
large shields that covered their entire bodies for protection, known as murmillo s , while some
gladiators carried small shields that covered only their torso so they were better able to move around.

Scottsboro Boys were a group of black youths that got into a fight with white boys in a freight car on a
train going from Chattanooga, TN south to Alabama. After the white boys told officers about the fight,
the Boys were taken into custody. Then two white girls that were on the train accused the black youths
of rape and they were officially arrested. The story of the Scottsboro Boys is one of cruelty, neglect,
and lies in the Jim Crow south. This is how the story of the Scottsboro Boys begin. March 25, 1931
four African American boys jumped on a freight car in Chattanooga, TN. The boys names were
Haywood Patterson, Eugene Williams, Roy and Andy Wright (Aretha 9). A white boy stepped on
Patterson s hand and almost pushed Williams off the train, then the trouble began (Aretha 10). After
Patterson stood up for his friends and himself, the white boys got mad and threw rocks at the black
youths. The boys from Chattanooga were joined by other black men. After the four from Chattanooga

initial stages, the Portuguese were getting about 5,000 slaves annually. These slaves were mainly
gotten from Angola and in West Africa and were being sent to Brazil (Behrendt, 1997).
As time moved on, the number of slaves being transported to Brazil continued to increase recurrently.
