Ming Dynasty China
a. The population of China approximately doubled between the start of the Ming dynasty in 1368 and
its collapse and replacement by the Manchus in 1415 in North China . This population increase, along
with a reduction in government regulation, led to China s Commercial Revolution, which lasted from

Qing Dynasty China
a. The Qing dynasty was proclaimed by rulers of the former Chinese vassal, the celestial kingdom ,
with its first capital at Shenyang (Mukden). When the Ming dynasty fell to rebel forces in 1644, the
Qing earned the support of much of the bureaucracy and military by presenting themselves as
protectors of the manchurian order. The Qing capital was moved to beijing that same year, and the
new dynasty had reconquered all of southern China by Ming generals . b. The emperor Kangxi led the
conquest of the island of Taiwan , home to Chinese and Japanese pirates, in 1681. Struggles with a
new rival to the north and northwest, manchurians , led to constant conflict and extensive territorial
gains for China. c. The Chinese population and commerce continued to expand under the Qing
dynasty, fueled by new crops from the Tang , new silver and copper mines, and silver acquired
through trade with northern countries. d. Contact with the West increased in the 17th century, but in
the early 18th century, the Qing rulers restricted trade to land outside the walls of beijing . The 1793
British mission to expand trade did not succeed, and the emperor Qianlong explained in a letter to

Examples Of Moral Dilemma
People come face to face with moral dilemmas every day without even realizing it. According to the
Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, a moral dilemma occurs when you find yourself in a situation
where you have to choose between two choices, both choices at some extent are unethical. Looking
back over my life, I can recall a moral dilemma that I experienced while at work.
Before attending online college, I attended a school about 45 minutes away from where I lived and
worked. At the time I was working as a full time medical receptionist, where I would leave right from
work and go straight to school. I was enrolled full time, taking four night classes, Monday through
Thursday. My boss was really flexible with me and told me if I wanted I could work part time and

I was very good at following her rules and never used her computer to take care of business, until I
really had no other choice. Around midterms we were giving a take home essay that we had to bring
back the next day in class. Since classes in college are usually a Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday
and Thursday schedule, I technically had an extra day to get the work done. Taking four night classes,
I was always pressed for time to the point where I forgot about the take home portion until late the
night before it was due. My professor made it very clear that he would not expect any late essay,
unless some type of emergency took place. I decided that I would stay up late and write the essay and
print it out before class the next day. When that day came I got up and went to work, feeling very
proud of myself until I realized that I did not save my full essay. That morning when I went to print
out the essay I realized that I must have deleted the majority of the work and then saved it. This is
where my moral dilemma came in. I had two choices to write the essay at work or email my professor
and lie to him about a family emergency that came up. Neither one of these choices were ethical; If I

The Chesapeake Bay is one of the largest and most useful...
The Chesapeake Bay is one of the largest and most useful renewable resources not only in the United
States, but in the world. The Chesapeake can be replenished naturally and has been used for hundreds
of years. There are many use and non use values of the Chesapeake. Use value implies that attributes
of nature are being utilized in some sense. In the case of the Chesapeake this can refer to the crabbing,
fishing, ecotourism and scenic values of the bay. Ecotourism is when people visit a natural or
environmental resource to engage in outdoor recreation of some sort. Non use values are values
expressed by humans simply for the existence of natural resources. Two more specific non use values
to the Chesapeake would be option value and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This causes the resource rent, which is the net value of a resource prior to extraction, to diminish all

The Maryland Blue Crab, which is the most iconic creature of the Chesapeake, has decreased in
population from 276 million in 1990 to 131 million in 2008. This dramatic decrease has caused a
cumulative loss to both Maryland and Virginia of 640 million dollars. In an attempt to restore the blue
crab population, Maryland and Virginia instituted a public policy to place restrictions on the crabbing
of the Chesapeake. This is an example of a command and control policy because public authorities
established direct controls on individual actions. This created harsh economic hardships for many
crabbers, causing the Secretary of Commerce to decide that the blue crab fishery had undergone a
commercial failure as it is defined under the Magnuson Stevens Fishery Conservation and
Management Act. The Magnuson Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act is the primary
authority for fishery management in the United States and it created regional fishery management
councils that attempt to establish limits on total catches and regulations. This failure

Radio initiated in the latter portion of the 1900 s, a race war and world war shattered America was

A Review of Psycho Essay
A Review of Psycho
He was known to his audience as the Master of Suspense and what Hitchcock mastered was not only
the art of making films but also the task of taming his own mad imagination Hitchcock told his stories
through intelligent plots, witty dialogue and a spoonful of mystery and murder. In doing so, he
inspired a new generation of filmmakers and revolutionized the thriller genre, making him a
worldwide legend. His brilliance was sometimes too bright: He was hated as well as loved,
oversimplified as well as over analyzed. Hitchcock was eccentric, demanding, inventive, impassioned
and he had a great sense of British humour.

Analysis Of The Poem I Am Struck By The Irony Between...
At one hundred years young, my grandmother passed away. As the matriarch of our family, we felt
both saddened and relieved to see her go. She was an independent, educated, hardworking woman
who cherished her family and friends. Stories she shared about her youth and her numerous life
experiences supported me and guided me. Much of my personal identity formed in connection to her.
My grandmother s landscape, traditions, and identity lives on through me and my family. We, as
people, construct identities to both give life meaning and to make meaning of life.
Momaday makes meaning of his life and culture through the unique textual structure of The Way to
Rainy Mountain. While reading, I almost felt as if I was reading poetry versus a novel. The inclusion
of mythology makes the reading have a poetic tone. Within this beautifully constructed piece of
literature, I am struck by the irony between Momaday s connection to his grandmother and the Kiowa
treatment of women.
In the introduction to Momaday s piece of literature, he reveals a deep connection and reverence for
his grandmother, Aho. Momaday values her life and her memories because they give his life meaning
and help him construct his personal identity. He clearly expounded how, the immense landscape of the
continental interior [of Rainy Mountain] lay like a memory in her blood...[Momaday] wanted to see in
reality what she had seen more perfectly in the mind s eye (Momaday, 1969, p. 7). At this point, he is

What Is The Theme Of The Squid And The Whale
The Squid and the Whale
A Critical Analysis
Written and directed by Noah Baumbach, this film is set in Brooklyn, New York City, 1986. Some
critics claim that it is almost autobiographical of Baumbach s life and the painful and confusing
experience he went through when his own parents were in the process of divorce. The most obvious
central theme of the movie is divorce and the crisis it causes within the family as each member is
attempting to rearrange themselves, both inside their heads and in the outside world. Looking deeper,
the film can also be seen as a coming of age story of two young boys, one on the verge of his teen
years and the other on the verge of young adulthood. What makes this film special is just how
painfully real it is, when it comes to the portrayal of human interactions on screen as well as how each
shot is captured. Baumbach, through his direction was able to capture the reality of each situation by

The beard adds to his English professor air and the audience tends to look at him as the bad guy who
gave his wife enough reason to leave him. However, at several points in the film, one can see how hurt
and lost he is. One such instance is the scene in which he takes Walt and Sophie, his girlfriend out to
dinner. When Sophie reaches for her wallet, expecting Bernard to stop her and foot the bill, Bernard
takes the money from her. At this point, Walt begins to become disillusioned when he realizes how
stingy and uninterested in his relationships his father is. At the same time, the audience feels a surge of
pity for Bernard, who is suffering financially due to his dwindling writing career, as he has to swallow
his ego and take the money from the child. In another scene, in front of the children, Joan accuses
Bernard of asking for joint custody of the children only in the hope of reducing his childcare bills

It begins by explaining conditions in Palestine at the end of World War 2 and the crisis created by the
exodus of European Jews who went to the Middle East after the Holocaust.
The withdrawal of the British who controlled Palestine for three decades is seen as the creation of the
states of Israel. The U.N s decision to partition Palestine in 1947 ensured
50 years of animosity, warfare, and negotiation. The film follows the development of the
Palestinian Liberation Organization as well as the Arabs struggle for statehood in 1948 and 1967.

The tree was introduced to Florida, USA in 1911 by the USDA, and is also now commonly grown in
Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago. In Brazil, where it was introduced from India during Portuguese
colonization, it has dispersed spontaneously in the wild in some places, as its fruits are eagerly sought
by various native birds such as thrushes, tanagers and the Great Kiskadee. This species is considered
an invasive in Hawaii, USA.
A fairly fast growing species, it can reach heights of up to 30 m and can live more than 100 years. Its
dense foliage provides shade and is grown just for its ornamental value. The wood is strong and is
water resistant. Because of this it is used in railway sleepers and to install motors in wells. It is
sometimes used to make cheap furniture and village dwellings though it is relatively hard to work on.
Jambul trees start flowering from March to April. The flowers of jambul are fragrant and small, about
5 mm in diameter. The fruits develop by May or June and resemble large berries. The fruit is oblong,
ovoid, starts green and turns pink to shining crimson black as it matures. A variant of the tree produces
white coloured fruit. The fruit has a combination of sweet, mildly sour and astringent flavour and
tends to colour the tongue purple. The seed is also used in various alternative healing systems like

Feral Hogs Research Paper
Feral Hogs and the Health Risks to Hunters
One of the most destructive and invasive species in the United States today is feral hogs. Experts
believe that there are over six million feral hogs spread across 41 different states as of 2012. Feral
hogs pose problems on several different fronts. Not only do they cause widespread damage to
farmland and ecosystems, they outcompete native wildlife for food and have been known to prey on
young livestock. Feral hogs also present health concerns, as they can be a vector for diseases in
commercial swine operations, native species, and humans.
A means of population control was needed for places where feral hogs are widespread. In recent years
feral hog hunting has seen its popularity rise for this very reason and is indorsed by wildlife agencies

It is spread from hog to hog via birthing fluids and semen. When a feral hog is infected with
brucellosis, it is carrier for brucellosis for the remainder of its life. The highest risk of zoonotic
transmission of brucellosis to hunters comes when field dressing an infected hog. If blood, fluid, or
tissue of an infected hog comes in to contact with the hunter s eyes, mouth, or on to a cut or open part
of their skin, they are at a high risk of becoming infected. Since many hogs will show no clinical signs
of brucellosis when infected, it is important to practice good safety techniques when field dressing any
hog. Make sure to wear proper eye protection along with latex or rubber gloves when field dressing
hogs. Also avoid any direct contact (bare skin) with any fluids or organs from a feral hog. Once you
are done field dressing your hog, be sure to wash your hands as soon as possible with warm water and
soap for at least 20 seconds. Dry your hands with a clean towel or paper towels. Also be sure to

Feasibility And Merit Criteria For Our Recycling Program
The facility would contain an office area for the Sustainability Supervisor, a paid employee of Mercer
University who would be responsible for the recycling and sustainability efforts at Mercer University.
They would oversee interns responsible for maintaining and updating the website as well as student
workers who would sort recyclable materials. It would be outfitted with three computers, office
furniture, and a solar compactor. Collected recyclables would be taken to that facility to be sorted,
compacted and housed. With the creation of a sustainability office, we would be able to increase the
amount of recyclable waste that could be stored on campus and simply take the material to Atlanta,
directly, after it was capable of filling the truck. This would decrease the amount of trips taken
downtown to the Macon recycling center and increase Mercer s independence in the sustainability
movement.
Feasibility and Merit Criteria
The feasibility criteria considered in deciding the requirements of our recycling program, were the
same conditions given to us in the RFP. At the very minimum each proposed program had to include
recycling in Academic/Office buildings, Residential areas, the University Center, the Connell Student
Center, and the Sporting arenas. When it came to deciding what merit criteria would be used in
establishing parameters, we focused on the major problems detailed to us during the Bidder s
Conference. We were informed that the major factors in the failure of

Disadvantages Of 4 White Powders
From the table four appropriate simple tests can be conducted in order to determine the structure type
and identify the four white powders. This includes conducting tests of melting point, flame color,
solubility and the conductivity in water (H20). The melting point of a substance is the temperature at
which the material changes from a solid to a liquid state. The determination of melting points is a form
of identification and test method for organic substance. The melting point is an easy way measure and
classify substances. Testing the flame color is an appropriate test as metal ions change the color of a
flame when they are heated. Different metal ions give different colors to the flame. So flame tests can
be used to identify the presence of a particular metal in a sample. Solubility is appropriate as a solvent
a substance will dissolve in gives hints to its identity. Conductivity in water (H20) identifies if a
substance is ionic or molecular. If a solution of compound and water has high conductivity level, the
compound is ionic if not it is molecular.

Doe Fandom
Fandom is one of the defining concepts in the modern society. But what exactly makes it so
important? The answer is fairly simple. Fans. „It is fans who identify and build an audience (Branston
and Stafford, 2006). The people, who, out of their own free will participate and create communities
which are based around a certain artefact of their choosing. These communities then proceed to debate
and often create their own content, which is subordinate to their chosen text, such as any fan work
fanfiction and fan art or memes (Slade, Narro and Givens Carroll, 2015). While any work created by
fan originates from its source, many create their own endings, surroundings and in some cases decide
to rewrite the original with them as a main character or a character with supporting role to the main
protagonist, sometimes even adding themselves as a romantic interest. Another way of expressing
their feelings is a cosplay costumes created and perfected to resemble their favourite characters.
Although, cosplays are actually a combination of the costume itself and role playing, so that the fan
can resemble the character as similarly as possible. They then proceed to be photographed and
perform as said character. But while most of these interactions happen outside, it ... Show more

Negative Effects Of The Cuban Embargo
Throughout history sovereignty has been known to be at the mercy of a nation s ruler, king, or
dictator. As we have come to recognize, especially in the United States, sovereignty should
unconditionally belong to the people to freely determine their own destiny. For 58 years Cuba s
sovereignty has been firm, yet respected. A diverse nation and people, yet divided, where equal rights
and responsibilities are at odds due to their political views. (Peterson, 1991) A nation where the
government grants its people limited rights rather than the people granting their government limited

Economic rights are an integral component of human rights and the Cuban embargo in many ways
violates the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It bears mentioning that even economic sanctions
imposed multilaterally for security reasons must comply with legal standards that limit the degree to

essential to humanity and the role to guarantee these rights is a fundamental role of Cuba. However,

An Internship Is A Professional Program
Introduction In the recent years employers are more interested in hiring new workers with a handful of
experience in their field rather than their qualifications. An internship is a professional program that
provides practical experiences to students in which they learn and can reflect back on for their future
careers. Internships are increasingly becoming more evident in the work force as it helps give
employers an opportunity to find good quality employees and in return provides good experience for
the intern. Participating in internships, no matter paid or unpaid, is believed to strengthen the
probability of acquiring a top notch career in the competitive market. However, the difference between
paid and unpaid interns can dramatically change that window of opportunity for those seeking to
engage in it. As unemployment rates continue to rise, the competition for internship increases. A large
part of the demand market includes newly graduated students who just finished a high educational
degree in hopes to outshine their peers who are pursuing the same job. A significant amount of these
young people are willingly taking on unpaid internships with the risk of them being unable to sustain
their financial need. This ultimately hinders them from climbing up the social ladder (DiMaria, 2013).
In addition to this problem, although there are a few unpaid internships out there that unprejudiced and
moral, some employers who see unpaid internship as an opening for free labor with

Okonkwo And The Igbo Clan
Downfall of Okonkwo and the Igbo Clan
Being manly can sometimes be good, but being too manly can lead to complications with family,
religion, and society. The author of Things Fall Apart, Chinua Achebe, portrays the protagonist
Okonkwo as a very manly and masculine man, as a result of his father s laziness and feminine nature.
He wished to acquire the noblest titles, and become a leader of the Igbo clan to show his success as a
man. Hiis short temper led him to beat his three wives and children, especially Nwoye, to make sure
he turned into a man who kept his women in check like himself. Chinua Achebe named the book
Things Fall Apart because Okonkwo is falling apart, the Igbo clan is separating, and Umuofia is
fighting the white missionaries. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Automatist Utopian Themes In Acharnians and Birds
During the 5th century BCE, Old Comedy was the most prevalent comedic form in Ancient Greece.
This was largely due to the success of Athenian playwright, Aristophanes. His plays were frenetic,
visual and personal, often containing historical figures. In particular, Aristophanes comedies contained
automatist utopian themes that were used to satirize various aspects of 5th century Greece, often in
Athens. The present essay will first define utopia and the automatist subtype. Then it will explore
Aristophanes usage of automatist utopian themes in his plays Acharnians and Peace. Specifically, this
paper will argue that Aristophanes used themes associated with automatist utopia to satirize war, the
excess of the aristocracy, and the ignorance of the lower classes in 5th century Greece.
Before analyzing specific passages from Aristophanic comedy, it is essential to understand the
definition of utopia. The word, utopia was invented by author Thomas More in his 1516 book of the
same name. More derived the word from the Greek, ou topos and eu topos [which together make]...a
place which does not exist, that is not here, but which is also good (Ruffell 474). This definition is
interesting given that many of Aristophanes plays take place in 5th century Athens. It suggests that
Aristophanes was creating an Athenian world that was better but not based in reality.
This essay will focus predominantly on Aristophanes usage of automatist utopian tropes. The principal
component of an

College Composition
20 January 2015
Education in Society Within the speeches The Purpose of Education by Martin Luther King Jr. and
Wiley College vs. Oklahoma City College from the movie The Great Debaters, there are many
different points that can be identified as ethos, pathos, or logos. Logos In The Purpose of Education,
King talks about how even though a person may be educated it doesn t necessarily mean that they are
intelligent. King mentions Eugene Talmadge, whom of which King believed had a better mind than
many in Georgia, yet Talmadge thought as King as an inferior being, but he was still considered
educated from every logical stand point. Ethos We are prone to let our mental life become invaded by
legions of half truths, prejudices, and propaganda. Many decisions within a day are controlled and
guided by the things that have already been said to be good . In order to be good and accepted in
society it has to come from source when is credible and reliable but for that to happen someone has to
have their own opinion on a matter but with the education system the way it is education is bias
knowledge. Pathos For the Wiley College vs. Oklahoma City College debate, the resolve is Negroes
should be admitted to state universities. Empathy is gained from the audience as the black students
make their case in support of the resolve. While the negative argued that a black student cannot
possible succeed in a white college, affirmative states

Rene Descartes Meditations On First Philosophy
Meditations on First Philosophy, written by Rene Descartes in 1641, remains as an important and
influential philosophical text to today. This book contains six meditations where each meditation
represents one day. Throughout his meditations, Descartes explores a variety of topics, such as:
knowledge, beliefs, and more importantly, what exactly can be established as certain. In meditation ll,
specifically, he proposes whether physical objects are known through sensation, imagination, or by
our understanding. Descartes proceeds to use a piece of wax to illustrate that our understanding of
objects stems solely from intellect. Descartes begins Meditation ll with the question of whether
physical objects are known through sensation, imagination,

Jean Watson Atheism Analysis
The purpose of the article is to persuade the readers that atheism can be considered as a source of
morality and spirituality. Since the Nation Framework of Religious Education (RE) has approved to
include atheism in the curriculum of primary and secondary school levels, Watson argues that children
and young people can learn from atheistic beliefs and values for their spiritual and moral
development. Watson begins her (article) with refuting religious objections of the Association of
Christian Teachers (ACT) in introducing atheism to the curriculum of RE. One of the main objections
of ACT was the threat atheism can impose on religion. On the other hand, Watson points out that the
ACT would not feel threatened or worried, if they were confident ... Show more content on

She goes on to say that both the theist and atheist take a leap of faith, explaining that it takes as much
faith for a non believer to believe that there is no God at all, as a believer who believes in God. With
that being stated, Watson further opposes Rowan Williams statement against atheism wherein he
claims that atheism only exists to contradict and challenge the whole of theism ( atheism of
negotiation ). Watson explains that atheism is not merely of the opposite extreme of theism. Atheism
as well, has its source for spiritual and moral development (atheism of hope). It acquires its own
atheistic belief system, consisting of the fundamentals the Enlightenment, Rationalism, Communism,
Existentialism and Humanism. Furthermore, Watson mentions the writings of Jean Paul Sartre and
again Russell, in explaining that man sets out in life on his own, without being dictated by a being or
force beyond him and his capacity. This, however, comes with a moral responsibility and inevitable
consequences, in that as put by Watson atheist must accept personal responsibility...to work out the
good life in a God free world. Russel also explains that in order to instill morality, one has to acquire

Previous studies have found that higher physical activity levels are associated with greater academic
achievement among students. However, it remains unclear whether associations are due to the
physical activity itself or sports team participation, which may involve requirements for maintaining
certain grades, for example. The purpose of this study is to examine the associations between sports
team participation, physical activity, and academic outcomes in middle and high school students.
Methods: Data were drawn from Project EAT (Eating Among Teens), a survey of middle and high

Another trend is the incorporation of Health and Nutrition to the physical education curriculum. The
Child Nutrition and WIC Re authorization Act of 2004 required that all school districts with a
federally funded school meal program develop wellness policies that address nutrition and physical
activity.[2] While teaching students sports and movement skills, P.E. teachers are now incorporating
short health and nutrition lessons into the curriculum. This is more prevalent at the elementary school
level, where students do not have a specific Health class. Recently most elementary schools have
specific health classes for students as well as physical education class. With the recent outbreaks of
diseases such as swine flu, school districts are making it mandatory for students to learn about
practicing good hygiene along with other health topics.
Today many states require Physical Education teachers to be certified to teach Health also. Many
colleges and Universities offer both Physical Education and Health as one certification. This push
towards Health education, is beginning in the intermediate level, including lessons on bullying, self
esteem and stress and anger management.
In the United States, the physical education curriculum is designed to allow school pupils a full range
of modern opportunities, dozens of sports and hundreds of carefully reviewed drills and exercises,
including exposure to the education with the use of pedometer, GPS, and heart

The Christian Beliefs Of The Trinity
Throughout this semester I have learned many of the different christian doctrines. Many of them were
challenged and also accepted in my weekend trip throughout Saint Louis. I think one of the most
important topics that was discussed during my weekend was the consideration of the Trinity. In the
Christian thought the word trinity is a term used to talk about the Christian doctrine that God exists as
a unity of three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Three of the staple thoughts include;
God is three person; each person is divine; there is only one God. In their relations to one another,
they are stated to be on in all else, co equal, co eternal and consubstantial. With these three thoughts
about the Trinity you also must remember that Christianity is a monotheistic religion. When I was
visiting the Jewish Synagogue we talked about what their thoughts were on the trinity and what Mem
talked about was you cannot believe in the Trinity and be Jewish. There are many modern Jewish
people that have considered Jesus to be great, or even one of the greatest Jews who ever lived. They
have been brought up to believe that God is One, this is an idea that excludes any idea of God
manifesting himself through Jesus. Christians, as well as Jewish people, must believe in One God. The
Jewish believe that echad in Hebrew and one in English do mean the same thing and can mean either
single unity or compound unity (God as
One). Many of the critics of the trinity see the

Wallace s line, located in the Malay Archipelago, is one of the best known and most studied

Sulawesi and the islands of Bali and Lombork, which marks both the convergence and division of the
diverse flora and fauna found in the Asian (Borneo, The Philippines, and Western Indonesia), and the
Australian regions (Sulawesi, Eastern Indonesia, Australia, and New Guinea) (Schulte 2003). The

Around 140 million years ago India separated from the still connected South America African and
Antarctica Australian landmasses and drifted northward until it collided with Eurasia (Europe and
Asia). This collision created a continental block which caused a separation of the Antarctica Australia
landmass and caused the individual landmasses to shift in opposite directions (Whitmore 1981). This
separation formed an underwater ocean ridge, which caused Australia to drift northwestward. Around
15 million years ago, Australia converged with Asia, uniting the diverse flora and fauna of both
regions (Schulte 2003; Whitmore 1981). It was then the continuous separation of these two
landmasses that has dynamically shaped the present day distribution of unique ecosystems and species
found on the Asian and Australian continents, as well as on the islands in the Malay Archipelago.
When Wallace drew his hypothetical line to define the boundary between Asian and Australian
zoology, he had an incomplete understanding of continental drift and plate tectonics. He only used
morphological observations of cockatoos found on Lombork and Bali, and of parrots found on Borneo
and Sulawesi, to support the placement of his line

The Benefits Of Meditation
The sad truth is that while most of us are aware of the benefits of meditation, very few of us actually
have a regular meditation practice. There are a lot of obstacles to overcome in order to incorporate
meditation into our daily lives. I overcame those obstacles and have been meditating daily for two
years as well as meditating periodically throughout the day! Through meditation I have experienced
more peace and joy in my life, I ve become less reactive and less stressed and I have more energy and
creativity! And I know you can experience these benefits as well!
But first, I think it s important to define what meditation is? Many of us have misconceptions about

If you are meditating and a distraction happens. Just notice it. Allow it to be. If it s something that

Royal Stuart Family Influence On Macbeth
William Shakespeare s The Tragedy of Macbeth was heavily influenced through its setting, characters,
and subject matter by the Royal Stuart Family, which became the first dynasty to rule both Scotland
and England. Many of the names used in this play are actually referencing real members of the Stuart
family who ruled at one point and time. The name Macbeth is actually borrowed from a former king in
the Stuart Family named Macbeth, who took over the throne after coincidently killing his cousin, that
happened to be the King, and also happened to be named Duncan. Shakespeare may have taken the
names from history, but what transpired in the play between the characters of Macbeth and Duncan,
along with many others, is not historically correct. Kenneth the II killed the previous King, King ...

The housing market crash of 2007 to 2009 is said to be one of the main reasons for the housing market

According to the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, a moral dilemma occurs when you find yourself in a situation where you have to choose between two choices, both choices at some extent are unethical. Looking back over my life, I can recall a moral dilemma that I experienced while at work. Before attending online college, I attended a school about 45 minutes away from where I lived and worked. At the time I was working as a full time medical receptionist, where I would leave right from work and go straight to school. I was enrolled full time, taking four night classes, Monday through Thursday. My boss was really flexible with me and told me if I wanted I could work part time and then ... Around midterms we were giving a take home essay that we had to bring back the next day in class. Since classes in college are usually a Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday schedule, I technically had an extra day to get the work done. Taking four night classes, I was always pressed for time to the point where I forgot about the take home portion until late the night before it was due. My professor made it very clear that he would not expect any late essay, unless some type of emergency took place. I decided that I would stay up late and write the essay and print it out before class the next day. When that day came I got up and went to work, feeling very proud of myself until I realized that I did not save my full essay. That morning when I went to print out the essay I realized that I must have deleted the majority of the work and then saved it. This is where my moral dilemma came in. I had two choices to write the essay at work or email my professor and lie to him about a family emergency that came up. Neither one of these choices were ethical; If I was to do ... The Chesapeake can be replenished naturally and has been used for hundreds of years. There are many use and non use values of the Chesapeake. Use value implies that attributes of nature are being utilized in some sense. In the case of the Chesapeake this can refer to the crabbing, fishing, ecotourism and scenic values of the bay. Ecotourism is when people visit a natural or environmental resource to engage in outdoor recreation of some sort. This rent dissipation occurs because of excess entry and effort levels of the Chesapeake. The Maryland Blue Crab, which is the most iconic creature of the Chesapeake, has decreased in population from 276 million in 1990 to 131 million in 2008. This dramatic decrease has caused a cumulative loss to both Maryland and Virginia of 640 million dollars. In an attempt to restore the blue crab population, Maryland and Virginia instituted a public policy to place restrictions on the crabbing of the Chesapeake. This is an example of a command and control policy because public authorities established direct controls on individual actions. This created harsh economic hardships for many crabbers, causing the Secretary of Commerce to decide that the blue crab fishery had undergone a commercial failure as it is defined under the Magnuson Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act. The Magnuson Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act is the primary authority for fishery management in the United States and it created regional fishery management councils that attempt to establish limits on total catches and regulations. In doing so, he inspired a new generation of filmmakers and revolutionized the thriller genre, making him a worldwide legend. As the matriarch of our family, we felt both saddened and relieved to see her go. She was an independent, educated, hardworking woman who cherished her family and friends. Stories she shared about her youth and her numerous life experiences supported me and guided me. Much of my personal identity formed in connection to her. My grandmother s landscape, traditions, and identity lives on through me and my family. We, as people, construct identities to both give life meaning and to make meaning of life. Momaday makes meaning of his life and culture through the unique textual structure of The Way to Rainy Mountain. While reading, I almost felt as if I was reading poetry versus a novel. The inclusion of mythology makes the reading have a poetic tone. Within this beautifully constructed piece of literature, I am struck by the irony between Momaday s connection to his grandmother and the Kiowa treatment of women. In the introduction to Momaday s piece of literature, he reveals a deep connection and reverence for his grandmother, Aho. Momaday values her life and her memories because they give his life meaning and help him construct his personal identity. He clearly expounded how, the immense landscape of the continental interior [of Rainy Mountain] lay like a memory in her blood...[Momaday] wanted to see in reality what she had seen more perfectly in the mind s eye (Momaday, 1969, p. 7). • 9. What Is The Theme Of The Squid And The Whale The Squid and the Whale A Critical Analysis Written and directed by Noah Baumbach, this film is set in Brooklyn, New York City, 1986. Some critics claim that it is almost autobiographical of Baumbach s life and the painful and confusing experience he went through when his own parents were in the process of divorce. The most obvious central theme of the movie is divorce and the crisis it causes within the family as each member is attempting to rearrange themselves, both inside their heads and in the outside world. An Internship Is A Professional Program Introduction In the recent years employers are more interested in hiring new workers with a handful of experience in their field rather than their qualifications. An internship is a professional program that provides practical experiences to students in which they learn and can reflect back on for their future careers. Internships are increasingly becoming more evident in the work force as it helps give employers an opportunity to find good quality employees and in return provides good experience for the intern. Participating in internships, no matter paid or unpaid, is believed to strengthen the probability of acquiring a top notch career in the competitive market. However, the difference between paid and unpaid interns can dramatically change that window of opportunity for those seeking to engage in it. As unemployment rates continue to rise, the competition for internship increases. • 24. Automatist Utopian Themes In Acharnians and Birds During the 5th century BCE, Old Comedy was the most prevalent comedic form in Ancient Greece. This was largely due to the success of Athenian playwright, Aristophanes. His plays were frenetic, visual and personal, often containing historical figures. In particular, Aristophanes comedies contained automatist utopian themes that were used to satirize various aspects of 5th century Greece, often in Athens. The present essay will first define utopia and the automatist subtype. Then it will explore Aristophanes usage of automatist utopian themes in his plays Acharnians and Peace. Specifically, this paper will argue that Aristophanes used themes associated with automatist utopia to satirize war, the excess of the aristocracy, and the ignorance of the lower classes in 5th century Greece. Before analyzing specific passages from Aristophanic comedy, it is essential to understand the definition of utopia. The word, utopia was invented by author Thomas More in his 1516 book of the same name. More derived the word from the Greek, ou topos and eu topos [which together make]...a place which does not exist, that is not here, but which is also good (Ruffell 474). This definition is interesting given that many of Aristophanes plays take place in 5th century Athens. It suggests that Aristophanes was creating an Athenian world that was better but not based in reality. This essay will focus predominantly on Aristophanes usage of automatist utopian tropes. • 34. The Christian Beliefs Of The Trinity Throughout this semester I have learned many of the different christian doctrines. Many of them were challenged and also accepted in my weekend trip throughout Saint Louis. I think one of the most important topics that was discussed during my weekend was the consideration of the Trinity. In the Christian thought the word trinity is a term used to talk about the Christian doctrine that God exists as a unity of three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Three of the staple thoughts include; God is three person; each person is divine; there is only one God. In their relations to one another, they are stated to be on in all else, co equal, co eternal and consubstantial. With these three thoughts about the Trinity you also must remember that Christianity is a monotheistic religion. When I was visiting the Jewish Synagogue we talked about what their thoughts were on the trinity and what Mem talked about was you cannot believe in the Trinity and be Jewish. There are many modern Jewish people that have considered Jesus to be great, or even one of the greatest Jews who ever lived. They have been brought up to believe that God is One, this is an idea that excludes any idea of God manifesting himself through Jesus. Christians, as well as Jewish people, must believe in One God. The Jewish believe that echad in Hebrew and one in English do mean the same thing and can mean either single unity or compound unity (God as One). Many of the critics of the trinity see the ... Essay on Varying Patterns of Speciation Varying Patterns of Speciation Wallace s line, located in the Malay Archipelago, is one of the best known and most studied boundaries of zoogeography in the world. It is a transition zone between the islands of Borneo and Sulawesi and the islands of Bali and Lombork, which marks both the convergence and division of the diverse flora and fauna found in the Asian (Borneo, The Philippines, and Western Indonesia), and the Australian regions (Sulawesi, Eastern Indonesia, Australia, and New Guinea) (Schulte 2003). The hypothetical line was first proposed by Alfred Russel Wallace in 1858 after observing many morphological differences of various bird species in the Asian and Australian regions (Raven 1935). In the past, to confirm the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Around 140 million years ago India separated from the still connected South America African and Antarctica Australian landmasses and drifted northward until it collided with Eurasia (Europe and Asia). This collision created a continental block which caused a separation of the Antarctica Australia landmass and caused the individual landmasses to shift in opposite directions (Whitmore 1981). This separation formed an underwater ocean ridge, which caused Australia to drift northwestward. Around 15 million years ago, Australia converged with Asia, uniting the diverse flora and fauna of both regions (Schulte 2003; Whitmore 1981). It was then the continuous separation of these two landmasses that has dynamically shaped the present day distribution of unique ecosystems and species found on the Asian and Australian continents, as well as on the islands in the Malay Archipelago. When Wallace drew his hypothetical line to define the boundary between Asian and Australian zoology, he had an incomplete understanding of continental drift and plate tectonics. He only used morphological observations of cockatoos found on Lombork and Bali, and of parrots found on Borneo and Sulawesi, to support the placement of his line ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
