Analysis Of Hillbilly Elegy
The multidimensional expression hillbilly carries different cultural significances throughout the book
Hillbilly Elegy by J.D. Vance. First, Vance utilizes the term hillbilly to refer to the working class white
Americans of Scots Irish descent who have no college degree (3). Second, Vance uses the term
hillbilly to refer to a group of people from a specific geographic area, namely the area of the
Appalachian Mountains. According to Vance, the area stretches from Alabama to Georgia in the South
to Ohio to parts of New York in the north (4). Third, hillbilly indicates the way of life, behavior, or
identity of the people of Greater Appalachia.
Throughout the book, Vance describes particular behaviors, customs, and attitudes that distinguish the
hillbilly culture and set them apart from the White Anglo Saxon Protestants or WASPS (3). For
example, Vance describes hillbillies as those with an intense sense of loyalty, a fierce dedication to
family and country who do not like outsiders or people different from us, whether the difference lies in
how they look, how they act, or most important, how they talk. (3). Notably, throughout the entirety of
the book, Vance continuously and consistently identifies himself as a hillbilly. In order to fully grasp
Hillbilly Elegy one must understand that Vance writes not as an observer of the hillbilly culture, but as
someone who has lived the hillbilly life and knows the culture from firsthand experience. All
throughout the book, it

Adoption Essay s Arguments Against Abortion
Is taking a life okay? People say that taking a life is wrong yet 125,000 abortions happen a day.
Although abortions are legal right now, it should be illegal.
First off, taking a life should not be a choice. In Arizona, killing a pregnant woman is a crime. The law
specifies that the defendant shall not be released until the completion of thirty years if the murdered
person was under fifteen years of age or was an unborn child (Fetus Homicide State Laws). This
proves the fetus had a life. When he/ she would have been born, he/ she would be equal to a child that
is out of the womb. Secondly, the baby feels pain. When the mother takes the pill to burn the baby, the
pill burns the baby. He/ she would either die from or get pulled out limb by limb from the womb. The
baby feels the pain of getting killed. He/ she opens his/ her mouth to cry, but no sound ... Show more

For example, people will ask, what is the woman was raped? the answer is to give the baby up for
adoption. The healing process begins with empowerment and regaining the control lost in an assault.
Victims of sexual assault must be able to reclaim control of their own bodies and lives (where we
stand). Giving the child up for adoption will be a choice that the victim made and will help her control
her life. Taking away the fetus life will just cause him/ her pain. The pain of rape is still there, bay or
not. Others will say that some people are not ready for kids. The answer is simple, do not have sex.
Unless the woman was raped, she should not surprise. Give the baby for adoption, some people cannot
have kids and they would want a baby. Lastly, the baby would be ill. Just because the child would
have a hard life, does not mean there parent should not let them experience the life in general. Parents
should give the best lives they can. It is better to feel loved and happy then to not feel anything. Life is
a blessing and should not be taken

Essay about American Society in the 1920’s
In the nineteen twenty s there were several factors that contribute to the changes in American society.
After World War One many Americans were fed up with President Wilson and his liberal policies. The
frustrations were evident because the people voted the Republicans into office the first elections in the
nineteen twenty s. The presidency brought fourth the new conservative area and the Republicans gain
their power back after the electing President Harding.
However, President Harding died before he could finish his presidency in 1923, and Vice President
Calvin Coolidge took the office as President. He was also reelected in the nineteen twenty four
election. While President Coolidge served in office, the United States had one of the ... Show more

Also In the nineteen twenty s there was a great separation between high culture and pop culture in the
nineteen twenty s. Leaders of the ex patriot movement dominated the individualistic writing, poetry
became more experimental and classical music was dominated by modernism. As a whole the high
culture of the nineteen twenty s was characterized by the expression of the artists.
Also in the nineteen twenty s the pop culture thrived, movies were popular; radio became a form of
entertainment and jazz developed as a new form of music.
During this time people were distinguished by conflicts. Prohibition was passed, however it was not
enforced. Prohibition was put in place to stop the sale, manufacture or transport of illegal alcoholic
beverages. It was design to stop people from drinking, but it just created a large number of bootleggers
who supplied the public with illegal alcohol. Many of these bootleggers became rich and influential by
selling alcohol. Great technological advances were made and inventions such as cars and radios
improve life of the American people. With this added technology the economy experienced
tremendous growth. The nation s income rose from seventy four billion to eighty nine billion by
nineteen twenty nine.
Wages increased as fast as productivity increased. However when production cost fell, wages rose
slowly and prices remained constant.
There were many Americans buying a

King Alexandra The Great
Alexandra the great was a Macedonian king. He was born July 356 BC. His parents are King Philipp
the second and queen Olympia. When he inherited the Macedonian empire from his father he
continued to prolong the empire to great proportions, with the help of his troops. Alexandra is greatly
known due to the fact that he conquered more land than any other king, during his time. Alexandra s
built an extensive empire that had a cultural impact on the east and west. He also was a great leader as
well as a great conqueror, at the young age of twenty years old he was an experienced and trained
solider, with his father s aspiration; who was also a great conqueror. He started to form the forces
necessary to conquer Persia, and even after he conquered most of Persia he was still displeased and

the empire was mostly the effect of Alexandra and with the help of his troops, the empire spread

Henry VIII and his contribution to the English Reformation
Henry VIII, the notorious King of England, had an exceptionally significant influence on English
history. The importance of Henry s eminent reign is typically overshadowed by his six wives, but to
discover its true essence one must breach the barriers yielded by the many fallacies concerning his
overly publicized liaisons. Although to many he is remembered solely for his hedonistic life style, his
malicious attitudes, and of course his six wives, Henry was well educated and an adept ruler. He
exuded confidence and supremacy throughout all of his actions. Henry fought many wars in Europe,
callously increased the authority of royal government, and even aspired to become Holy Roman
Emperor in order to extend his jurisdiction. Henry s greatest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He needed a male heir in order to secure the Tudor succession and ensure the permanence of his
kingdom. His current wife Catherine bore six children only one of which survived a daughter, who
later reigned as Mary I. This would not suffice and Catherine had failed to fulfill Henry s ultimate
aspiration and therefore was no use to him anymore. He then turned his attentions to a maid of honor
at court, Anne Boleyn. Church law forbids divorce, but it is considered ethical for the pope to annul a
marriage. Despite his frequent justifications, the pope was still adamant in his beliefs and turned his
request down. Wolsey could not secure the annulment from the pope that Henry had so resolutely
demanded. His once potent power vanished in that instant since its basis was his ability to accomplish
the king s objectives. This was just the beginning of his tenacious fixation that would be the dominant
component in his everlasting impact on our history.
Henry was still in desperate need of a way out of his current marriage in order to peruse the new
subject of his infatuation, Anne Boleyn. He argued that from biblical authority the union with his
brother s widow was invalid. Despite his efforts, the fact that Catherine s nephew was the Holy
Roman Emperor made his desires utterly impossible to reach. As result he sought out new methods for
achieving his ultimate ambition.

Abstract/Summary
The aim of my individual research project was to find out whether or not our local community would
like to see equal marriage rights for Australian same sex couples. I created and conducted interviews
and surveys based around the question of Marriage Equality. Should Australian same sex couples be
allowed to marry?
By doing this research project, I hoped to achieve information about the issues faced by same sex
couples and primarily, the societal attitudes towards the group. Before I started, I believed that my
project would show that the majority of people surveyed and interviewed on the topic of

Building Blocks
In my classroom, I plan to have pencils and paper in every center so that the children will have the
opportunity to write at all times. With the writing and art centers, the children will be able to create
works of art such as stories, pictures, writing their names, and other works of art that they would like.
In the writing and art centers, the possibilities are endless as to what the children can create and they
are able to use their imagination, fine motor skills, all while working on communicating their thoughts
and ideas onto paper. The reason I chose building blocks/construction center for my classroom is
because the children get to have a hands on experience to learn through. Building blocks help with the
cognitive development in preschoolers, and they can also use their own imaginations to create a
masterpiece. With blocks, children are also able to learn about the different shapes, sizes, colors, and
ways of making patterns and comparing one object to another. ... Show more content on

I believe that all children need to be exposed to books from a very early age. By exposing children to
books from the start, it will build up their interest and curiosity so that when they get to the reading
stage they will succeed and have a rich vocabulary knowledge. By placing books in my pre
kindergarten class, the children will learn about the concepts about print, and as they progress through
the year they will learn the the words in the story is what contains the message, and that each story has
a meaning. In my book center, I will also have puppets that go with some of the books so that the
children can use the puppet while reading and have the puppet mouth the words, or use the puppet and
act out the story. In my book center the children will have the opportunity to read to one another as
well as by themselves, this will help each child work on their listening, communication, speaking, and

Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) Guidelines for the investigation of computer crime.
Abstract
In this essay I will be talking about the key guidelines when it comes to investigating computer related
crimes, such as what kind of the sections and sub sections the offence falls under when regarding the
law . I will also analyse the principle that will apply when dealing with the collection data using the
digital forensic unit to analyse the data, more so how this is used to make accurate judgment on why
the data was in this location and what its purpose or intended use was. Furthermore I will address what
kind the authority the ACPO are granted, and further dissect the responsibilities the chief
commissioner has. Lastly I will be addressing one the biggest computer related crimes which Cyber
Crime and how ACPO created a method for dealing with such crimes, such as dividing the crime into
two different categories of Cyber Crime, and how they differ from one another.
Introduction
The ACPO has been established since the year of 1948 ,it was then fully implemented officially in the
England, wales and Northern Ireland. The ACPO stands for the association of chief police officers, it

Redox reaction.
The procedure for producing EMF in an electrochemical cell is due to an internal chemical reaction
which is the redox reaction this is a reaction that involves electrons being transferred from the
reducing agent to the oxidizing agent.
The reaction is between the electrolyte and negative electrode which will create a buildup of free
electrons, each of which has a negative charge at the anode of the battery which is the negative

The chemical reaction which occurs between the electrolyte and the positive electrode internally in the
battery then produces a buildup of positive ions, which are atoms that are missing electrons. The

The majority of alkaline batteries are not able to be charged after they have been discharged. Some

Interoperability In Healthcare
Introduction
Interoperability is often a word frequently used as a goal to strive for when improving healthcare in
the United States. Encouraging the utilization of health information exchange has been cited as a
potential way to improve efficiency, increase safety, and enhance quality of care. There are numerous
examples of how linking information between multiple data sources leads to a non trivial task. When
two operations are collecting the same data, but are recording information in different formats, it can
be nearly impossible to bridge the information between those systems. Standards are important
because they can facilitate mutual understanding during in regards to communication and health

Drugs that a clinician or researcher may view as a single medication are distinguished by a multitude
of various codes. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2965522/ For example, if a
researcher wanted to compare the effect of taking 81 mg/1 aspirin, they would not be able to easily
find the same drug produced by two manufactures solely by looking at the NDC codes. If they were to
look at 81 mg/1 coated tablet aspirin for the distributors Chain Drug Consortium and Preferred
Pharmaceuticals, Inc Aspirin, the respective NDC numbers are 68016 642 12 and 68788 0186 2.
When looking at the patterns in the numbers, there is no simple way to deduce that these drugs are the
same. http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cder/ndc/dsp_searchresult.cfm To combat this, the NIH
combines the NDC codes with their own database, RxNorm, which provides normalized names for
many generic and branded drugs. This database was fortified from a knowledgebase from the

Prayer Should Not Be Allowed In Public Schools
Not During School Hours What s the harm in an occasional spoken prayer at school every now and
then? Are times such as an assembly, sporting event, or graduation acceptable? The debate of prayer in
public schools has been an ongoing issue for over fifty years now. It seems like a simple yes or no
answer. As a Christian who attended a private school, my initial answer was a definite yes. I have
always believed that God should be present in every school all over the world mainly because my
school s activities were centered around prayer. However, after much research, I have found a
different point of view. Prayer should not be allowed in public schools due to the fact that these
schools consist of numerous religions, it is unconstitutional, and it creates different burdens for each
person in the school. Prayer should not be allowed in public schools because more than just Christians
attend these schools. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Everyman Morality
Everyman is a medieval morality play that depicts the events preceding the death and ascension into
heaven of an individual named Everyman , in allegorical fashion. Ambling along a road, Everyman is
approached unexpectedly by Death who comes to fulfill the wishes of God and bring Everyman to
eternal judgment. Everyman then proceeds to implore Death for more time on Earth, but is only
effective in gaining permission to get his affairs in order. After unsuccessfully pleading with his Good
deeds to accompany him to the presence of God, Everyman arrives at the realization with the aid of
Knowledge that he must confess his sins and ask God for forgiveness to be accepted into heaven.

When Everyman meets with Death while walking on the road, Death introduces himself by stating, I
am Death, that no man dreadeth (does not discriminate). For every man I rest (arrest) and no man
spareth. For it is God s commandment that all to me should be obedient. This is indeed true, as all,
regardless of title or economic status, will one day meet death and face the Eternal Judge, God.
Furthermore, Everyman teaches that one must prepare for death. When Everyman is made aware of
Death s purpose towards him, he states, O Death, thou comest when I had thee least in mind. Clearly,
Everyman was not prepared Death states in the beginning of the work: Lo, yonder I see Everyman
walking: full little he thinketh on my coming. For those who are not prepared when death does come,
the eternal consequences are severe. Third, Everyman teaches that salvation is gained by good works,
which when compared to what the Word of God states, is a fallacy. When allowed by Death to get his
affairs in order, Everyman first goes to his Good deeds to help him, but she cannot because she is
weighed down by his sins. After Everyman confesses his sins and repents, his Good deeds accompany
him to heaven, and Knowledge states, The Good deeds shall make all sure. Biblically, this is incorrect

Gothic and Romanesque Cathedrals Essay
The Romanesque style transformed into the Gothic style during the Middle Ages. This happened for
many reasons. The Romanesque period was a time of trial and error while the Gothic period was a
time of advancements in inventions. Religion was an important factor in the shift between
Romanesque and Gothic. The locations of the two types of cathedrals also contributed toward the
change between Romanesque and Gothic, as well as the power of the relics and the community to
raise funds for the Gothic cathedrals. There are several reasons the architecture of the cathedral

In Romanesque, the emphasis was on transcendental and feudalistic systems whereas in the Gothic this
approach was humanized and individualized. The Gothic architecture emphasized upward movement

movement. The Gothic period was a tuime of advancements in architecture including the pointed arch,
the rib vault, and the flying buttress. Also, stained glass windows were a beutiful way to express their
beliefs in an architectural way. The pointed arch was their first invention that removed the awkward
look of disproportional arches at the sides of the Romanesque cathedrals. The pointed arch also
directed the weight of the vault downward to help support the massive ceilings. The second
advancement of the Gothic architects solved problems of the Romanesque period. The Romanesque
cathedrals had thick walls that gave the feeling of confinement, and their massive arches seemed ill
proportioned to their small windows, which created little light. The rib vaults allowed the architects to

Early Classical Greek Sculpture
The main feature that defines the Early Classical Greek sculpture of the human body from the Archaic
Greek sculpture of the body is the pose of the body. Early Classical Greek sculptures of the human
body are asymmetrical. During this time period, sculptures started adapting the contrapposto pose to
their sculptures. The contrapposto pose brought more life and energy to the sculptures than the
previous Archaic Greek sculptures. Another feature that defines the Early Classical Greek sculpture of
the human body is that the sculptures were made from hollow casting bronze. This technique allowed
for more complex action poses to be developed. The sculptures during this period, like the archaic
period, were highly idealized forms of the human body.

I was ready to be on the sideline at games cheering the team on, going to the different pap rally s,

I would be an active student throughout my four years there, and I m going to do just that. Me and

How did you react to the film? Did you enjoy it? Why or why not? The film was engaging and

Keg River Essay
The term Keg River has been historically used within Alberta to indentify early to middle Devonian
carbonate reef type structures within the Alberta Basin. Nomenclature problems were identified by
Schneider (2011) with commonly interchangeable terminology that began in the 1930s, including
Upper Elk Point formations such as the Winnipegosis, Keg River and Methy.
Sproule (in Ells, 1932) described the Keg River from outcrops along the Clearwater River, near Fort
McMurray in the 1930s. Sproule described the carbonate sequence as a thin bedded, alternating
limestone and shale, progressing to an argillaceous limestone under a massive dolostone.
The Methy Formation was first published in research from Nauss (1950), currently used as the ...

Corrigan (1975) divided the Keg River into two units; the lower unit The Platform consisting of
uniform thickness over a large regionally area; and the second unit as an aerially restricted Buildup
consisting of reef mounds deposited on the top of the lower platform unit. He described the Keg River
Formation to contain halite, anhydrite and carbonate.
Campbell (1987) defined the Keg River Formation as an open marine carbonate with an upward
shoaling character marking the beginning of the Lower Elk Point Group (Lower Keg River Member).
This Lower Keg River member was initiated by a rapid increase in sea level elevation flooding the salt
plains of the Contact Rapids. Campbell (1987) described the Lower member of a dark micritic
limestone, in a somewhat euxinic environment, containing bitumen and fauna such as brachiopods,
crinoids, corals, stromatoporoids and gastropods. The unit can be locally dolomitized with a maximum
thickness of approximately 50m. The Upper Keg River member was deposited during the restriction
of marine waters by the Presqu ile Barrier reef into the Elk Point Basin (Campbell, 1987). The interior
of the basin contains Upper Keg River pinnacle reefs, banks and platforms. Campbell (1987) noted the
spatial differences in the type of carbonate deposition within sub basins; areas from the Peace River
Arch to southern Alberta show a fringing carbonate platform, while the Rainbow, Zama and Shekelie
basins contained the majority of the

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) as an effective tool for Oil Spill Analysis
Naveen Sankaran
Abstract
Marine oil pollution, caused by discharges from ships, and leakages from oil platforms and oil tanker
accidents, is a major threat to fragile marine and coastal ecosystems and it is a subject of increasing
public concern.
Airborne and space borne radars are used as an effective option for operational oil spill detection.
Remote sensing in microwave band has definite advantage over other techniques and microwave
sensors are proved to be useful tool for detecting hydrocarbon spillages and becoming the most
commonly used sensors for oil spill remote sensing.

The Automotive Industy s Use of Structural Composite...
The automotive industry s use of structural composite materials began in the 1950s. Since those early
days, it has been demonstrated that composites are lightweight, fatigue resistant and easily molded to
shape. In other words, composite structures are seemingly attractive alternative to metals. Not only are
composites used in the field of automotive but in all other fields such as aerospace, construction
industry, and the entertainment industry.
Composite materials have numerous features that led the automotive industry in using it in automobile
designs. Its many key benefits include being lightweight, has high strength, corrosion resistant,
chemical resistant, elastic, and non conductive. Composite materials are extremely strong and are
highly resistant to chemical, never having to rust or corrode. Fiber reinforced composites have
excellent elastic properties. When composites are bent, they snap back into place. Fiberglass based
composites are non conductive.
With all these benefits and features, what exactly are composites? Composite materials are developed
by the combination of two or more materials, with quite different properties. When composite
materials are made, one material is called the matrix or binder, which surrounds and holds a cluster of
pieces of a much stronger reinforcement material called fiber, which is the second material.
So why does the automotive industry use composites in automobile designs? What are its specific
benefits? The use of

The Act directed modifications to influence corporations financial disclosure and other accounting
fraud. Actually, The SOX Act was created in response to accounting malpractice in the early 2000s,
when public scandals such as Enron Corporation, Tyco International plc, and WorldCom shook
investor confidence in financial statements and demanded an overhaul of regulatory standards
(Investopedia, 2017). The act rules and policies affected the legislation related to security regulations.
The Sarbanes Oxley Act Section 302 and Section 404 are the main points. The rules and enforcement
policies outlined by the SOX Act amend or supplement existing legislation dealing with security
regulations. The two key provisions of Section 302 is a mandate that requires senior management to
certify the accuracy of the reported financial statement. Section 404 is a requirement that management
and auditors establish internal controls and reporting methods on the adequacy of those controls.
Section 404 has very costly implications for publicly traded companies as it is expensive to establish
and maintain the required internal controls (Investopedia,

importance of having companions and teamwork is a constant theme in both J.K Rowling s Harry

Food Insecurity Essay
Listening to conversations about food on campus, I found that there was a common theme last year: it
was difficult to find healthy food on campus. I think we ll find that to be less of the case this year,
especially with N Rich recently opening in the Union, and a new service called Instacart that will
deliver groceries to campus. However, despite an expanded variety of options to purchase fresh fruits
and vegetables, the problem of food insecurity has hardly been addressed. Food insecurity is the state
of being without reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food, according to the
Oxford Dictionary. It is a widespread problem on college campuses across the nation. While food
insecurity only impacts 14% of households, 48% of college students claim to be food insecure. This
problem disproportionately impacts first generation college students, students of color, and students
who need financial aid, as noted by the National Student Campaign Against Hunger and
Homelessness. Today, these students still have few resources to address this problem. Last year, I was
excited to see N Rich open. I toured inside and out, and saw that it increased my options to buy
healthy food on campus. Though there s valid argument that N Rich s variety is small, for the first
time in my college career, I did not have to travel over a mile to buy an onion. N Rich opens up
options for students with more meal plan money than they need. But for students who need to ration

Customer Service And Customer Satisfaction
Service is defined in many different ways, all of which can be seen as accurate. An example of one of
them pointed out by Cook (2008 p.185) Customer service is what the customer says it is . This
assignment will be examining the importance of customer service, delivered by business and its
employees and why customer satisfaction is important especially within the service sector. To
illustrate this, an example of a bad customer service that was condoned by myself will be provided.
At the end of last year in summer semester break I flew to my country to unite with my family. While
going there I bought a DSLR camera for my younger brother as a present. After buying the camera
from a Nikon brand now the necessity to buy a lens become inevitable to use the camera. As because I
and my younger have no prior knowledge in buying lens and there are so many choices in the market
upon on the advice from few friends, we went to shop named Gadget Gear situated inside of a large
shopping mall in our city. The shop was a third party dealer who is not authorized dealer of Nikon
brand but has good reputation as I have heard before. Once I reached in the shop, I started the usual
shopper routine which included checking out the available products on sale, educating myself on the
product differences, and inquiring on the best deals at each store, so that I could make the best
purchase decision as I was completely new with this DSLR camera and its wide range of lens choices

Descriptive Essay On 911
911
I have always wondered what it would be like to call 911 and talk to the dispatcher. I have wondered
what it would be like to watch the paramedics do their jobs and tend to someone in need. I have
always been so thankful I never had to experience it even though it would be cool to see. I have
always been the kind of person to thinks something bad won t happen to me. I have always had pretty
good luck I haven t gotten hurt bad enough and I have never really had anyone in my family get really
hurt, until last month.
Last month my mom and stepdad went to a family friend s wedding. We had worked out in the yard

Puritans Influence On Society
Certain Puritan ideals and values strongly impacted the people and places it has spread to and
continues to influence major societies today. Politically, the Puritans introduced the idea of a
representative government which gave a voice to any white male who was a good standing member of
the church. This was considered one of the first steps toward representative democracy which will
later be implemented by the United States as a base to the modern day government. Economically,
Puritans believed that the key to economic prosperity would result from piety and good doings.
Socially, the Puritans left a lasting influence on both religion and education. The Puritan ideals and
values therefore strongly influenced New England s political, economic, and social development
between 1630 and 1660. Multiple Puritan ideals and values had significant impacts on the political
development of the New England colonies. The idea of a representative government originated from
Puritan ideals; They believed that governmental power should be centered around the people. The
early establishment of a representative government in the Massachusetts Bay Colony was due to the
fact that it was a charter colony, which therefore allowed it to be self governing and gave it the fuel to
later develop a representative style government. The idea that the government should be focused
around the beliefs of the people continues to influence generations of future leaders, and can be seen
within the Gettysburg

The Period Of The Renaissance Period
Renaissance literally means rebirth. It refers particularly to the rebirth of learning during this period.
There was a tremendous revival of classical literature and art, but in the end it was the joining of this
with the intellect of the Italian people that lead to the change of the Western World. This period was
definitely more than just a rebirth though, it was also an age of new discoveries, both geographic and
intellectual. Both of these resulted in changes of tremendous importance for Western civilization.
In the economy, for example, there were many innovations that lead to a commercial revolution. There
were innovations in banking, accounting, company structure, insurance and commercial law and the
invention of commercial capitalism. All of these things worked together to usher in a new world that
was very different from that of classical Antiquity but they also laid the foundation for what was to
come during the Renaissance period.
When looking at the culture during this time there was great influence from the Humanist movement
led by Petrarch. There has been some controversy over time as to exactly what the humanist
movement was all about. According to Burkhardt the time was a discovery of man, which was in
direct contrast to the current secular interests of the time. Modern humanists are defined as someone
who has a set of human values, which are normally secular in nature, that are based on a particular
conception of many and his potential.

The Patriot ( 2000 )
The Patriot (2000) follows Benjamin Martin (Francis Marion) a widower with 7 children and veteran
of the French and Indian war. He is reluctant to join the fight against the British until Colonel William
Tavington (Lt. Colonel Banastre Tarleton) kills Benjamin s son and burns down his house in South
Carolina. Benjamin Martin leads his militia and attacks against the British with guerilla warfare until
the climax battle, where he takes revenge for his son and kills Colonel William. What is wrong with
The Patriot? It may have gotten the big picture, which was that the British taxed the colonists unfairly
and the colonists took action by forming a militia to win the war through guerilla warfare, but that s
one of the few things that are historically accurate about the film. Important things that are historically
accurate are the ambushes that Benjamin Gates took part in. Attacking head to head was not an option
because the British soldiers were obviously more powerful so the militia used surprise attacks and
ambushes to beat the British. Also the character Colonel William Tavington, who was based off of the
British soldier Lt. Colonel Banastre Tarleton, was probably the most hated officer in the British army.
His tactics were cowardly and evil because he would shoot the enemy after they surrendered. The film
did a great job at showing how menacing Lt. Colonel Banastre Tarleton really was. Nevertheless, the
film was mostly inaccurate and could be considered an American version

Adaptive Physical Education Is Physical Education Which
Adaptive Physical Education is physical education which has been adapted or modified, so that it is as

useful class especially in the high school setting. Disabled children are able to do exercises they
normally cannot do, experience full gym classes with non disabled students, and learn new and useful
fundamental skills they will use for the rest of their lives. To teach a class like this the teacher needs to

This is where you analyze the evaluation results and see how the students did. If many of the students
did not pass the way, the teacher wanted them to then the teacher must take the time to modify the
activity even more so that it will suite the students better. This model is extremely important when the
teacher is trying to figure out their students. It helps the teachers have a plan for the class so they aren
t stuck when it comes time to teach. For teachers to teach this class they are going to have to develop
other skills then their basic physical education teacher. There are six standards for an APE teacher.
These standards include human development, motor behavior, exercise science, curriculum
development, teaching, and communication. Human development is the basic understanding of how
skills develop and progress and how they apply to those with disabilities. This is important to know
due to the fact there are both disabled and non disabled students in this class. The Motor behavior
standard, is having the knowledge to monitor how motor skills develop and being able to keep in mind
the influence of development delay for those that are disabled. This also goes along with the next
standard which is curriculum development. This is the understanding of how each student has a
different goal depending on their disability. Teachers must be away at all times of their students and
what is different about them. The teaching standard is being able to

  • 2. Analysis Of Hillbilly Elegy The multidimensional expression hillbilly carries different cultural significances throughout the book Hillbilly Elegy by J.D. Vance. First, Vance utilizes the term hillbilly to refer to the working class white Americans of Scots Irish descent who have no college degree (3). Second, Vance uses the term hillbilly to refer to a group of people from a specific geographic area, namely the area of the Appalachian Mountains. According to Vance, the area stretches from Alabama to Georgia in the South to Ohio to parts of New York in the north (4). Third, hillbilly indicates the way of life, behavior, or identity of the people of Greater Appalachia. Throughout the book, Vance describes particular behaviors, customs, and attitudes that distinguish the hillbilly culture and set them apart from the White Anglo Saxon Protestants or WASPS (3). For example, Vance describes hillbillies as those with an intense sense of loyalty, a fierce dedication to family and country who do not like outsiders or people different from us, whether the difference lies in how they look, how they act, or most important, how they talk. (3). Notably, throughout the entirety of the book, Vance continuously and consistently identifies himself as a hillbilly. In order to fully grasp Hillbilly Elegy one must understand that Vance writes not as an observer of the hillbilly culture, but as someone who has lived the hillbilly life and knows the culture from firsthand experience. All throughout the book, it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Adoption Essay s Arguments Against Abortion Is taking a life okay? People say that taking a life is wrong yet 125,000 abortions happen a day. Although abortions are legal right now, it should be illegal. First off, taking a life should not be a choice. In Arizona, killing a pregnant woman is a crime. The law specifies that the defendant shall not be released until the completion of thirty years if the murdered person was under fifteen years of age or was an unborn child (Fetus Homicide State Laws). This proves the fetus had a life. When he/ she would have been born, he/ she would be equal to a child that is out of the womb. Secondly, the baby feels pain. When the mother takes the pill to burn the baby, the pill burns the baby. He/ she would either die from or get pulled out limb by limb from the womb. The baby feels the pain of getting killed. He/ she opens his/ her mouth to cry, but no sound ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, people will ask, what is the woman was raped? the answer is to give the baby up for adoption. The healing process begins with empowerment and regaining the control lost in an assault. Victims of sexual assault must be able to reclaim control of their own bodies and lives (where we stand). Giving the child up for adoption will be a choice that the victim made and will help her control her life. Taking away the fetus life will just cause him/ her pain. The pain of rape is still there, bay or not. Others will say that some people are not ready for kids. The answer is simple, do not have sex. Unless the woman was raped, she should not surprise. Give the baby for adoption, some people cannot have kids and they would want a baby. Lastly, the baby would be ill. Just because the child would have a hard life, does not mean there parent should not let them experience the life in general. Parents should give the best lives they can. It is better to feel loved and happy then to not feel anything. Life is a blessing and should not be taken ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also In the nineteen twenty s there was a great separation between high culture and pop culture in the nineteen twenty s. Leaders of the ex patriot movement dominated the individualistic writing, poetry became more experimental and classical music was dominated by modernism. Also in the nineteen twenty s the pop culture thrived, movies were popular; radio became a form of entertainment and jazz developed as a new form of music. During this time people were distinguished by conflicts. Prohibition was passed, however it was not enforced. Prohibition was put in place to stop the sale, manufacture or transport of illegal alcoholic beverages. It was design to stop people from drinking, but it just created a large number of bootleggers who supplied the public with illegal alcohol. Many of these bootleggers became rich and influential by selling alcohol. Great technological advances were made and inventions such as cars and radios improve life of the American people. • 6. Henry VIII and his contribution to the English Reformation Henry VIII, the notorious King of England, had an exceptionally significant influence on English history. The importance of Henry s eminent reign is typically overshadowed by his six wives, but to discover its true essence one must breach the barriers yielded by the many fallacies concerning his overly publicized liaisons. Although to many he is remembered solely for his hedonistic life style, his malicious attitudes, and of course his six wives, Henry was well educated and an adept ruler. He exuded confidence and supremacy throughout all of his actions. Henry fought many wars in Europe, callously increased the authority of royal government, and even aspired to become Holy Roman Emperor in order to extend his jurisdiction. Henry s greatest ... His current wife Catherine bore six children only one of which survived a daughter, who later reigned as Mary I. This would not suffice and Catherine had failed to fulfill Henry s ultimate aspiration and therefore was no use to him anymore. He then turned his attentions to a maid of honor at court, Anne Boleyn. Church law forbids divorce, but it is considered ethical for the pope to annul a marriage. Despite his frequent justifications, the pope was still adamant in his beliefs and turned his request down. Wolsey could not secure the annulment from the pope that Henry had so resolutely demanded. His once potent power vanished in that instant since its basis was his ability to accomplish the king s objectives. This was just the beginning of his tenacious fixation that would be the dominant component in his everlasting impact on our history. Henry was still in desperate need of a way out of his current marriage in order to peruse the new subject of his infatuation, Anne Boleyn. He argued that from biblical authority the union with his brother s widow was invalid. Despite his efforts, the fact that Catherine s nephew was the Holy Roman Emperor made his desires utterly impossible to reach. As result he sought out new methods for achieving his ultimate ambition. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With the writing and art centers, the children will be able to create works of art such as stories, pictures, writing their names, and other works of art that they would like. In the writing and art centers, the possibilities are endless as to what the children can create and they are able to use their imagination, fine motor skills, all while working on communicating their thoughts and ideas onto paper. The reason I chose building blocks/construction center for my classroom is because the children get to have a hands on experience to learn through. Building blocks help with the cognitive development in preschoolers, and they can also use their own imaginations to create a masterpiece. • 13. Prayer Should Not Be Allowed In Public Schools Not During School Hours What s the harm in an occasional spoken prayer at school every now and then? Are times such as an assembly, sporting event, or graduation acceptable? The debate of prayer in public schools has been an ongoing issue for over fifty years now. It seems like a simple yes or no answer. As a Christian who attended a private school, my initial answer was a definite yes. I have always believed that God should be present in every school all over the world mainly because my school s activities were centered around prayer. However, after much research, I have found a different point of view. Prayer should not be allowed in public schools due to the fact that these schools consist of numerous religions, it is unconstitutional, and it creates different burdens for each person in the school. Prayer should not be allowed in public schools because more than just Christians attend these schools. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In all actuality, the Supreme Court does not have a set rule that the students can t pray while they are at school, but it is set that the school itself can t hold religious assemblies (Strauss). Both Gaylor and Strauss agree that this separation is important. Public schools are funded and controlled by the government. • 14. Everyman Morality Everyman is a medieval morality play that depicts the events preceding the death and ascension into heaven of an individual named Everyman , in allegorical fashion. Ambling along a road, Everyman is approached unexpectedly by Death who comes to fulfill the wishes of God and bring Everyman to eternal judgment. Everyman then proceeds to implore Death for more time on Earth, but is only effective in gaining permission to get his affairs in order. After unsuccessfully pleading with his Good deeds to accompany him to the presence of God, Everyman arrives at the realization with the aid of Knowledge that he must confess his sins and ask God for forgiveness to be accepted into heaven. When Everyman meets with Death while walking on the road, Death introduces himself by stating, I am Death, that no man dreadeth (does not discriminate). For every man I rest (arrest) and no man spareth. For it is God s commandment that all to me should be obedient. This is indeed true, as all, regardless of title or economic status, will one day meet death and face the Eternal Judge, God. Furthermore, Everyman teaches that one must prepare for death. When Everyman is made aware of Death s purpose towards him, he states, O Death, thou comest when I had thee least in mind. Clearly, Everyman was not prepared Death states in the beginning of the work: Lo, yonder I see Everyman walking: full little he thinketh on my coming. For those who are not prepared when death does come, the eternal consequences are severe. Third, Everyman teaches that salvation is gained by good works, which when compared to what the Word of God states, is a fallacy. When allowed by Death to get his affairs in order, Everyman first goes to his Good deeds to help him, but she cannot because she is weighed down by his sins. After Everyman confesses his sins and repents, his Good deeds accompany him to heaven, and Knowledge states, The Good deeds shall make all sure. There was a tremendous revival of classical literature and art, but in the end it was the joining of this with the intellect of the Italian people that lead to the change of the Western World. This period was definitely more than just a rebirth though, it was also an age of new discoveries, both geographic and intellectual. Both of these resulted in changes of tremendous importance for Western civilization. In the economy, for example, there were many innovations that lead to a commercial revolution. There were innovations in banking, accounting, company structure, insurance and commercial law and the invention of commercial capitalism. He is reluctant to join the fight against the British until Colonel William Tavington (Lt. Colonel Banastre Tarleton) kills Benjamin s son and burns down his house in South Carolina. Benjamin Martin leads his militia and attacks against the British with guerilla warfare until the climax battle, where he takes revenge for his son and kills Colonel William. These standards include human development, motor behavior, exercise science, curriculum development, teaching, and communication. Human development is the basic understanding of how skills develop and progress and how they apply to those with disabilities. This is important to know due to the fact there are both disabled and non disabled students in this class. The Motor behavior standard, is having the knowledge to monitor how motor skills develop and being able to keep in mind the influence of development delay for those that are disabled. This also goes along with the next standard which is curriculum development. This is the understanding of how each student has a different goal depending on their disability. Teachers must be away at all times of their students and what is different about them. The teaching standard is being able to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
