Lecture Reflection
... This afternoon I spent about a half an hour on the phone with Mrs. Poirier discussing the details of
my lecture that I will prepare for the freshman students for the Essentials of Dental Radiography
didactic class. Students will be reading the chapter before the actual lecture so that they will be
familiar with the subject. Mrs. Poirier asked to use the student s text book as a main source for the
lecture and come up with some activity that actively engages the students during the lecture. She also
suggested creating a short quiz that I can hand out to the students to assess their understanding of the
lecture material. This quiz may be graded and used as one of their pop quiz depending on Mrs. Poirier
s decision. The lecture time will be 30 minutes and ten minutes for class activity after the PowerPoint
presentation.
Today I read chapter 5 from The Essentials of Dental Radiography text book to gather information for
my lesson plan. As I was reading the text, I was able to recall information that I learned four years ago
when I was in the freshman class in the Dental Hygiene Program. I will probably have to read the
chapter a few more times to memorize the content of the chapter to minimize looking at my notes
during the presentation. I also reviewed the Bloom s Taxonomy of Learning Domains to be able to
create a more effective lecture plan for the students. To obtain this information, I used the following
link: http://www.nwlink.com/~donclark/hrd/bloom.html After researching the most effective way of
writing a lesson plan and I also read instructions on how to write a S.M.A.R.T. goal statement. The
acronym S.M.A.R.T. stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Results focused, Time bound. By
using this information, I was able to create a focused and effective goal statement for my lecture
PowerPoint presentation. After my research, I created the first draft of the lesson plan for my lecture
on Radiation Safety. I Included the following items in my lesson plan: the goal of the presentation,
Objectives that students should be able to accomplish after the lecture, the teaching method I will be
using to educate the students, the method of delivery of the material, and student activities.

Neonatal Reflex Essay
Archaeologists have traced the existence of Homos (humans) in the taxonomic rank of Genus to about
2.5 million years ago. During this long period of time, until the subspecies Homo sapiens appeared,
was a period when humans are not only the predator but also the prey. Newborns are especially
vulnerable because they do not have the strength, or the ability to escape danger, thus newborns must
develop some other mechanism to survive and are especially sensitive to their environment. Thus,
babies are born with a number of infant reflexes to help them achieve that. Infant reflexes or neonatal
reflexes are unlearned and involuntary responses present at birth that occurs due to a certain stimuli.
These reflexes are predictable and are inhibited ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The child would fling his or her arms, fan the fingers and arches the back. The infant would respond in
such a way when exposed to sudden noise is because the noise represented danger and so the child
initiated his or her fight or flight reaction, which is a primitive response. The infant startle reflex is
usually gone by 16 weeks and is replaced by adult startle reflex. The difference between adult startle
reflex vs infant startle reflex is that adults would flinch instead of waving arms and legs. The infant
startle reflex would go away because the child would gain more and more control over her muscles
and since the startle reaction is an overreaction, it gradually gets under

Luncheon Grass
This paper will be a visual description of Luncheon on the Grass (Musée d Orsay), an oil painting
made by a leading French artist in the transition from realism to impressionism Édouard Manet, in
1863. A horizontal composition of 208 cm x 264.5 cm, the painting represents a luncheon in the forest.
In the foreground of the painting there are two men and a woman having lunch. While they are
casually having lunch, the two men are fully dressed, while the woman is fully naked, however, her
hand rests on her leg, hiding her pubic area. She is wearing an orchid in her hair, a bracelet, a ribbon
around her neck, and mule slippers. The man on the right is wearing a black flat round hat, a black
jacket, a white shirt, an orange tie, grey trousers and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the foreground, in front of them, there are the woman s clothes, a basket of fruit, and a round loaf of
bread. In the background, there is another woman barely dressed in a white dress who is bathing in a
stream. She is too large compared to the rest of the people in the scene which makes her look like she
s floating above them. There is a small boat farther on her right. The luncheon takes place in nature
where the figures are surrounded by trees and grass, however, the roughly painted background lacks
depth and the perspective is ignored giving the viewer the impression that the scene is more suggested
than painted and that it does not take place in an outdoor, but in a studio. This impression is reinforced
by an unrefined light that casts no shadows. Nevertheless, flat application of color, and lack of subtle
gradation are obvious in the painting. Manet did not hide the brushstrokes on purpose, there are even
some parts that look unfinished. Moreover, although there are some elements of fore shortening in the
painting, they are still misplaced. All of this adds together to make the viewer feel that the painting is

Jim Thorpe Biography
James Francis Thorpe was born in Prague, Oklahoma. His parents were Hiran P. Thorpe and Charlotte
View. He was given the name Wa Ho Thuck by his mother, which meant bright path. Thorpe had Sac,
Fox, and Potawatomi Indian bloodlines, as well as French and Irish roots. In 1913, he married his
college girlfriend, Iva Miller. They had four children together before they divorced in 1925. Thorpe
remarried to Freeda Kirkpatrick in 1925. They had three children together before they divorce in 1941
due to Jim Thorpe s alcohol addiction.
Jim Thorpe s peak of career came early in life. In 1912, he was named to the U.S. Olympic team for
the Olympic Games in Stockholm, Sweden. He won a gold medal in the pentathlon by winning four
out of the five events. A week later, he won another gold medal in the decathlon. Thorpe beat the
runner up be almost 700 points, despite wearing a pair of mismatched shoes. Gustaf V, the King of
Sweden, proclaimed Jim Thorpe to be the greatest athlete in the world. When he came back to
America for his hero s welcome, the following January a newspaper reported that ... Show more

Zimbabwe Satire
Satire Reflection
The president of zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe is my main satire target. He was the prime minister of
Zimbabwe since 1980 after Zimbabwe became independent from Britain. He then became president of
Zimbabwe in1987 and still is by using fraud, voter indentation, and violence to silence the people. He
is also the head of state in the world. Zimbabwe has been declining over the years. Currently, 72.3%
percent of the population are under poverty line. Life expectancy in zimbabwe is only 58 and 95
percent of the population is unemployed. Even though the country is near complete ruined he still not
willing to step down.

This past rainy season there has been numerous floods mainly in southern zimbabwe. Since this past
December, 249 people have died and thousands are homeless. Many of the victims are waiting for any
international or government aid. The president has not sent any form of aid to the people or hospitals.
All he has mentioned so far was that it was a National disaster. This is not suspicious as there are still
many victims of 2014 flood who are still homeless and unable to go back to normal life due to not
receiving aids. In the past, Mugabe has given people aid that did not benefit them such as a few bread
and water or a couple of tshirts. I used situational irony, hyperbole, understatement and sarcasm I
exaggerated how useless his aids are by showing how him dancing for them is the same as the aid he
provides. Also the quote, We have said we will never collapse, never ever. We may have our droughts,
our poverty, but as a people, we shall never collapse, never ever. is what he actually said about the
people of zimbabwe, but in reality, the people are collapsing and as time pass the rate of the country
and its people falling is increasing. Emmerson Mnangagwa, the vice president of Zimbabwe wants to
be the president and due to his background it is most certain he does not agree with Robert Mugabe
ideas, but he publicly says he supports the president s corrupt ideas in hopes of getting closer

Summary Of Popular Mechanics Of Lamb To The Slaughter
Popular mechanics and lamb to the slaughter
In the story popular mechanics and the story lamb the slaughter I thought it was interesting how they
interconnected with one another it s like to story for the same book just a little difference. The story
lamb to the slaughter was so good but a little crazy with all that happened at once to it was kinda
messed up and disturbing but still a good story. Now the story popular mechanics was more like a
regular messed up divorce or something and with the two idiots were just non stop bickering and
fighting the two adults just would not stop, it started with the wife/ex yell at him to get out and like ok
cool that s probably a fight or something but when he comes back just no why it like u want a fight
and he starts asking for stuff like why just don t, then they like fighting over a baby like just why. The
authors Raymond Carver.
Ok so my thoughts about the lamb to the slaughter is just worse like what is wrong with them they just
take it way too far like she kills her husband for breaking here heart like why and then just acts like
nothing had even happened like ok, later when the cops arrive she acts like nothing happened, like
going to the store acting like she was there when the murder happened cool but the worst parts when
she fed the murder weapon to the cops like omg ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

I sorta think the popular mechanics is for parents the are divorcing or something.but I the lamb to the

and she don t even like feel anything like idk even know just wow. What i don t get is that she had no
reaction when she did it but later she cried her ass off. That girl is messed up she even feed the lamb to
the cops to get rid of the evidence or something

Tcp. E Commerce Sql Injection Prevention

In the above statement, we create a stored procedure called CheckUser, accountable for authentication
of username and password. Here the attacker simply injects ; in the query thereby bypassing the

The tools and techniques for for distinguishing and anticipating SQL infusion are given underneath:

By doing this, we can take away the ability for an attacker to make any changes to the database.
In the following example if the code is run with read and write permissions the attacker could
potentially delete all that data in the database. ; DROP TABLE users; #
But by having the database be read only for the executing script we can able to make any changes to
the database so drop table users command would have no effect on the database as a whole.
4. Configure Error Reporting: When attempting to attack a server, attacker tries to get any information
possible which hook on unauthorized access to the server. If an attacker can cause a script to crash to
split out any error messages, it helps to figure out the system s potential vulnerabilities. However, if all
the error messages are written internally it doesn t get any feedback about what s going on in the
application making it much more challenging to find a security vulnerability.
5. Prevention Using Stored Procedures [13]: Stored procedures are being a part of database help
applications to interact with database server [13]. The blend of static examination and runtime
investigation is utilized to keep this put away system. The author at [15] proposed a mix of static
investigation and runtime observing to secure the security of potential vulnerabilities as put away

Effects Of Movie Piracy
Pirated movies have grown over the last couple of years. You can see someone on any given weekend
when you walk through the grocery store trying to sale you a movie. Piracy is defined by
Dictionary.com as, the unauthorized reproduction or use of a copyrighted book, recording, television
program, patented invention, trademarked product, etc. Therefore, a pirated movie is when a movie is
released without the owner or person that got the material copy righted it knowing or consenting to the
release. Movie piracy is unethical because it skews the box office financial numbers, decreases the
chance for sequels, and hurts the theaters, even though it does provide a means for people that are less
likely to go to the theaters. The movie box office ranks movies by how much it grosses in the theater
over the span of time that it is in theaters. The span of time can be by day, month, or year. However,
we must first understand that when you watch, receive, or supply a pirated movie there is no money
made by the production company. For instance, the movie may have been seen by five thousand
people but if two thousand people view pirated copies then the number reported will be the profit
brought in by the three thousand people. When you look at the numbers three thousand may seem
large but when you think about a movie ticket being nine dollars you will only be making $2.7 million
of the $4.5 million that the movie would have made in the theaters. The money that the movies make

Products differentiation
The large format movie system gives customers unique visual and audio movie watching experience
that cannot be found in conventional movie theaters. IMAX is also differentiated by its library of films
and locations. IMAX located itself in institutional environment and commercial multiplexes to target
wider audiences include family, students, and tourists at different time during the day by screening its
own movies and other studios movies. Speaking of the technologies, IMAX films printed on larger

IMAX is achieving economies of scale, the more movies released in IMAX format, the more the
IMAX system installed are utilized. IMAX is also updating their technologies and making
improvement to lower the costs of operations, therefore the learning curve cost advantages act as a
barrier to entry. The barrier to enter this industry is high.
Threats of substitutes
Live plays, sport events, TV programs (big screen TV, cable, and satellite), the internet, DVD, home
theater projection and sound system are all alternatives of IMAX movie for consumers to entertain
themselves in a different way. These substitutes also prevent IMAX from raising the ticket price. The
threats of substitutes are high.
Suppliers
The suppliers are vendors who provide the critical elements involved in IMAX s projectors and
camera systems, film making talents (actors, post production workers), other studios (Hollywood,
Disney, SKG DreamWorks etc.), and movie distributers (theater chain). The suppliers power is low
because by releasing movies in IMAX format and opening more IMAX screens will increase the box
office revenue for all the parties involved. IMAX does not pay top stars to make movies. They pay the
actors whose median salary is $17 per hour. IMAX has most its post production work done by its
wholly owned subsidiary. IMAX purchases its equipment components from vendors with

It was common for the artist to paint several versions of a subject, rethinking the composition and the
quality of the painting in the process; this was the case with Poussin s two paintings of The Abduction
of the Sabine Women , which he created around 1633. Both paintings, with their strongly opposing
diagonals, are illustrations of the dynamic and self confident style that Poussin adopted for many of
his scenes from earliest history. Poussin perhaps used the small stages with wax figures and carefully
arranged curtains, described by his colleagues. In his painting Eliezer and Rebecca at the Well created
in 1648, he used the same technic. In his late works Poussin may well have used such a stage to plan
the rigorous composition of Saints Peter and John Healing the Lame Man ,a painting from about 1655
that shows the artist responding to the striking and solid classicism of Raphael s The School of
Athens. Poussin was much precise in his work: after reading of the primary sources, he made an initial
sketch, and then constructed a small model stage upon which he could move with actual miniature

Analysis Of Disney Company And Its Impact On The World Of...
Despite nearly all forms of modern media readily available at all times in the pockets of our jeans and
hoodies, influences from media on how people perceive gender and its surrounding issues is often
overlooked or ignored under the premise of normalization. One of the top contributors of media is The
Walt Disney Company and its affiliated companies such as ABC, Pixar, Touchstone Pictures,
Lucasfilm, and Marvel Entertainment, and from a young age many children grow up on the films,
characters, books, and television series that are produced by the Walt Disney Company. In the long
history of media produced by The Walt Disney Company, beginning with its early groundbreaking
animated shorts all the way to the recent Moana, Disney has been the subject of much debate,
criticism, and praise regarding its portrayal of male and female characters. All forms of media has
portrayed both genders in stereotypical ways (Lindsey, 2015, p. 414), and because Disney is a media
giant, there is a lot of material that is directed to children that influences how they perceive gender
from an early age on up, and Disney is no stranger to portraying men and women in stereotypical
ways, even in its most recent films and television series. Disney has usually depicted women as
princesses, queens, homemakers (Yerby, Baron, Lee, p. 4) and villains that pursue the goal of usurping
far younger protagonists goals of happily ever after. Men are nearly always portrayed as either the
hero or the villain.

The Parable Of The Sower
In His teachings, Christ used parables to pass earthly stories with a heavenly meaning to the multitude.
He used parables in His teachings to not only fulfill prophecy but also to enlighten the true hearted to
challenge hardened hearts of the people (Matt. 13:34 35, KJV). Among His parables, the parable of
the sower was the parable inclusive of other parables (soil grounds and the sower) making it one of the
main parables of Christ. Four different soils were used to represent four different kinds of people and a
sower was to represent a teacher of the word of God. The parable of the sower therefore compares
various types of human nature, as the soil grounds and the attitude of people towards the teachings of
Christ.
The seeds that fell on the rocky soil represented the expressive people with a shallow and superficial
belief in Christ s teachings (Matt. 13:5 6, KJV). Christ clarified that the people who receive the word
with joy but turn away when difficulty or persecution comes are emotional as they try to do what they
feel is right in their own way. This explains their lack of commitment towards the teachings of the
word and shallow fading interest soon. Jesus meant to teach that the disciples should preserve and
never to give up by having a strong faith in Him (Colossians 2:6, KJV). The defiant kind of people
with fixed mind and prejudice about the teachings were represented by the seeds that fell on the path
(Matt. 13:3 4, KJV). Christ described the people who could hear

Achievements Of The Mughal Empire
As the Mughal Empire embarks the start to the highest points of tradition and culture in India, this age
began with the creation of India s greatest Empires The Mughals. The Mughal rulers brought India to
its pinnacle of political power, and cultural success (Spielvogel 530). To acknowledge some of the
greatest rulers of the Mughal Empire Babur, Akbar, and Aurangzeb; these rulers created some of the
greatest achievements in India, and some of the greatest controversies as well.
The founder of the Mughal Empire was Babur, who had an esteemed background, in regards to his
family. Babur s father was an Asian conqueror of Tamerlane, and Babur inherited a part of the empire.
At his youth, Babur led a group of soldiers who conquered Kabul in 1504. With Babur s past working
an an authoritative figure for the Tamerlane s Empire, helped him to seize Delhi, and other parts of
North India, until his death in 1530 (Spielvogel 530). However, it was not his revere background that
made Babur a powerful model during this time, it was Babur s resilience and dominance that led India
into one of it s highest peaks. With only twelve thousand troops against a significantly large army,
Babur captured Delhi, and established his rule there (Spielvogel 531). With Babur s explicit
intelligence, and prowess, Babur established himself to be one of the greatest rulers in India, and led
India into a time of achievement and success.

Hypertension ( Htn ) Is A Major Public Health Issue...
Hypertension (HTN) is a major public health issue affecting 70 million African American males in the
United States (CDC,2015) and predisposing them to cardiovascular diseases (Scranton, Goldstein,
Stecher, 2013). The WHO (2013) defines HTN as a systolic blood pressure of equal or greater than
140 mm/Hg or a diastolic blood pressure of equal or greater than 90 mm/ Hg. In addition, a large
portion of patient s diagnosed with HTN also have a diagnosis of erectile dysfunction (ED), both of
which when left untreated can have a negative impact on quality of life. ED has been defined by
Adebusoye et al., (2012), the lack of sufficient sexual intercourse due to inability of a penile erection
in male. Compounding the high incidence of HTN and ED among African American males, is the
problem of non adherence to prescribed anti hypertensive medications. Real or perceived ED
associated with the adverse side effects of anti hypertensive medications is a chief reason for non
adherence to anti hypertensive medications among males (Kakkavas et al., 2013). This research study
will use The Health Belief Model to investigate the correlation between African American males with
dual diagnoses of HTN and ED who are non adherent to anti hypertensive medications. More
specifically, this study will scrutinize the adverse side effects of anti hypertensive medications in
relation to complications of untreated HTN, one of which is ED. The results of this study could be

The Ethics Of Clinical Research
A 35 year old man named Paul, who has a supportive wife and two adventurous kids, has been
diagnosed with a very severe case of bone cancer for 1 year now. Since this type of cancer is so
severe, chemotherapy is starting to not work as well. Paul s oncologist unfortunately had to suggest a
final option for Paul to try which was a clinical research trial. Clinical research trials are experimental
studies that deem whether or not a medical drug, treatment, surgery, or device is safe and beneficial
for humans to use ( National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute ). As explained in Marcia Angell s

This temptation happens when the research question, such as a cure for cancer, is extremely important
and the answer could save lives. If the investigators cared more about the scientific or medical
advancement than the well being of their participants, they would cross a line that prohibits treating
human subjects as a means to an end. When this line is crossed, there is little left to protect patients
from a callous disregard of their welfare for the sake of research goals. Informed consent would not
matter because of the unbalanced relationship between the knowledge and authority among the
researcher and the subject. Approval by an institutional board, although it is important, can be subject
to change in its responsiveness to patients interests when they conflict with the welfares of the
researchers. Going back to Paul s case, he agrees to enter a clinical trial which was suggested by his
oncologist. The study, that Paul has agreed to enter, has claimed that this research team has created a
new drug that may be on its way to cure cancer. Obviously to a father and husband, this trial looks
very appealing. However, the researchers knowingly form two groups that will compare two
treatments. What Paul doesn t know, is that one of the treatments is better than the other. One group
will receive this new drug and the other group will receive a placebo. Comparing this new treatment

The Lady s Dressing Room Essay
A Subtle Justice of the Double Standard Humans, by a way of life, are inherently disgusting creatures.
Normal bodily functions are often considered impolite and gross. Beauty is a way of life as well,
which can, at times, be a little unpolished. In The Lady s Dressing Room, the male character and, at
protagonist at first glance, Strephon, seems to go on a vile adventure because of his curiosity and
blinding adoration for his lover, Celia. His blinding adoration became glaring disgust as his adventure
through Celia s dressing room continued. Though at first the poem seemed misogynistic, Swift did not
criticize just women, but people in general. He mocked women and their seemingly revolting task of
beautification, as well as men for their curiosity and false, implausible standards for women and
beauty. My first opinion of The Lady s Dressing Room was that the ... Show more content on

Strephon now is less concerned with her beauty and far more disturbed about how dirty she is
otherwise. Strephon creates a double standard that by doing things like sweating, cleaning her teeth,
and using products in her hair, Celia falls victim to. The evidence supporting Swift criticizing women
is plentiful and obvious. Swift mocking men in The Lady s Dressing Room, is less obvious. While
Strephon searches the room, the reader, at first, is led to believe that Celia (and women in general) are
the main targets of the poem. While they may be targeted, it eventually appears that women may not
have been the only muse for Swift s poem. Men, especially those who place women on pedestals and
compare them to goddesses, are destined to be disappointed once they realize that women are not
goddesses, but, in fact, people. Strephon committing this offense is visible in the second couplet of the
first paragraph: The goddess from her chamber issues, /Arrayed in lace, brocades and tissues (3 4).

guava leaves and fruits showed scab symptoms from different regions in EL Beheira governorate. Five
Pestalotiopsis species were recognized according to the morphological characteristics of fungal colony
(Colony color, Size and number of acervulii) and conidia (Length, Width, and Color of median cells,
Length and the number of apical and basal appendages); they were P. psidii, P. microspora, P.
clavispora, P. neglecta and Pestalotiosis sp. All the isolates recovered were pathogenic to the cv.
Balady of guava fruits. However, P.psidii isolates were the most highly pathogenic followed by P.
neglecta, P. clavispora, P. microspora and Pestalotiopsis sp, respectively. RAPD PCR analysis using
five random oligonucleotide primers revealed DNA fingerprints and considerable variations were
revealed with primers tested. Bar marker showed a common band for all Pestalotiopsis isolates and
species at 500bp, while BAQ, 18 and A9B4 exhibited banding pattern similar for all isolates of the
same species which were different from that of the other species. Scab disease control of infected
fruits by chitosan as s natural product was tested. The in vitro 2.5% chitosan application significantly
inhibited the growth of Pestalotiopsis spp tested by 86.53% on agar plates.

Organizational Group Dynamics and Politics Essay
Group Dynamics and Politics Within Organizations Individuals have their own personalities that can
influence their enthusiasm and productivity within an organization. In addition, individuals also form
groups and are part of teams that work together to reach a common goal within organization.
According to Gibson, Ivancevich, Donnelly, and Konopaske (2009) dedicated and cohesive teams can
have a tremendous impact on organizations effectiveness and the global market. However, all of this
happens within the frame work of office politics and can hinder or enhance the organization s
effectiveness. Therefore, it is important to not only understand individuals, but also groups, teams and
office politics within the organization. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The third phase is when the group decides they need to get the project completed before time runs out
and there is the final burst of energy. This model works well with projects and groups that have
deadlines to reach their objectives. For example, the sustainability committee at the National
Environmental Health Association was tasked with writing a white paper on how the organization
viewed and was dealing with the issue of sustainability. The group identified tasks and then everyone
worked on their part. The committee then reviewed the work that was done and determined next steps
and the work moved along until the group realized they only had a month left to finish the project.
There was a burst of energy form the group members to finish the project on time. Once the project
was completed, the committee went back to their normal level of participation and activity. From this
example, it is clear that groups can and do follow the punctuated equilibrium model. However, once
the special project was over, the committee went back to their normal group activity. This suggests
that both group development models are relevant based on the needs and purpose of the group. Group
formation, development and outcomes are complicated and there are many factors that play a role in
how they will function (Gibson, et al., 2009). By understanding not only the two previously

Ackland Art Museum Essay
The Ackland Art Museum s new exhibition takes visitors through an experience that simulates the
chaos, fear and disorientation of war. The Flash of Light, Fog of War: Japanese Military Prints, 1894

Japanese War. We start with this one, said Reisporter, because it brings a lot of these ideas and these
visual aesthetics together. Two other techniques were used in creating the print: gofun and bokashi.
Bokashi is the gradient effect created by the ink during printing, and gofun is a pigment made of
calcified oyster shells used to create snow or fog, Reisporter said. Gofun was used to create the

The Influence Of Fashion In The 1800 s
Listen to the fairytales people were told as kids. People lived like that during the 1800 s. In the
Victorian Era the literature and the fashion have sculpted some of the most elegant dresses and fairy
tales that the world has today. Most clothes the world has today has been influenced by the Victorian
times. Wedding dresses, party dresses such as prom dresses and homecoming dresses, all these styles
or clothing were influenced somehow by this era.
People say that undergarments are so uncomfortable but people have no idea how much better
undergarments are for women now. Women underwear came all the way down to their knees with tiny
embellishments at the leg openings (Victorian Web). These undergarment usually are a flesh pink
color or cream colors (Victorian Web). Women during this time had to be constantly uncomfortable
with all the different undergarments that they had to wear.
Victorian dress are big and beautiful and very in your face. In the 1850 s the neckline on dresses were

New France was the area colonized by France in North America during a period extending from the
exploration of the Saint Lawrence River, by Jacques Cartier in 1534, to the cession of New France to
Spain and Britain in 1763. At its peak in 1712 (before the Treaty of Utrecht), the territory of New
France extended from Newfoundland to the Rocky Mountains and from Hudson Bay to the Gulf of
Mexico. The territory was divided in five colonies, each with its own administration: Canada, Acadia,
Hudson Bay, Newfoundland and Louisiana.
Also during this period, French Huguenots, sailing under Jean Ribault, attempted to found a colony in
what became the southeastern coast of the United States. Arriving in 1562, they established the
ephemeral colony of Charlesfort on Parris Island in what is now South Carolina. When this failed,
most of the colonists followed René Goulaine de Laudonnière and moved south, founding the colony
of Fort Caroline at the mouth of the St. Johns River in what is now Jacksonville, Florida on June 22,
1564. Fort Caroline was destroyed in 1565 by the Spanish under Pedro Menéndez de Avilés, who
moved in from St. Augustine, founded to the south earlier in the year.

Does Advertising Affect Self-Image
According to a writer from the Media Awareness Network, marketers are held responsible for
systematically creating anxiety, promoting envy, and fostering feelings of inadequacy and insecurity to
sell us their products. While these marketers believe that advertising only mirrors society s values and
alerts them to new products and bargains, they are either oblivious to their detrimental effects on
society, specifically the teenage and female markets, or are ignorant to the truth. The Media Awareness
Network evaluates the self perceptions we gain from advertising whether it be false or strictly

Proximity also mattered because it reduced shipping costs and lags, and because poorer neighbors
sometimes benefited from trade concessions. While China became an export powerhouse across the
board, greater regionalization was the dominant motif of changes in the apparel trade in the 1990s.
Turkey, North Africa, and sundry Eastern European countries emerged as major suppliers to the
European Union; Mexico and the Caribbean Basin as major suppliers to the United States; and China
as the dominant supplier to Japan (where there were no quotas to restrict imports).3 World trade in
apparel and textiles continued to be regulated by the Multi Fiber Arrangement (MFA), which had
restricted imports into certain markets (basically the United States, Canada, and Western Europe)
since 1974. Two decades later, agreement was reached to phase out the MFA s quota system by 2005,
and to further reduce tariffs (which averaged 7% to 9% in the major markets). As of 2002, some
warned that the transition to the post MFA world could prove enormously disruptive for suppliers in
many exporting and importing countries, and might even ignite demands for managed trade. There

Supply Chain Management And Logistics Essay
Supply Chain management and logistics are an extremely important functions of an organization. In
this research paper, we will be discussing an aspect of supply chain and logistics that I am interested
in, how both are related and different, key activities in supply chain and logistics, and the ethics and
social responsibility in both supply chain and logistics management.
Logistics is a vital component of supply chain management. Both involve the planning, carrying out
and management of goods, services and information from the point of origin to the point of
consumption. Logistics aligns the multifaceted pattern of traffic and transportation, shipping and
receiving, import and export operations, warehousing, inventory management, purchasing, production
planning and customer service. Organizations, like the one I work for, see logistics as a critical design
of the supply chain. When organizations incorporate logistics as a key component of the business plan,
they can use it to manage, coordinate and monitor resources needed to move products in a smooth,
timely, cost effective and reliable manner.
Like Logistics, Supply Chain Management is an essential element of operational efficiency. The
impact that supply chain has on our organization is substantial and exponential. Two of the main ways
SCM affects business include: boosts customer service and our overall bottom line. Supply chain
impacts our customer service by making sure the right product assortment and quantity are

The current meat practices in the U.S are unsustainable in terms of being able to meet the future

In the next forty years food production will need to increase by one hundred percent if it is going to

evolutionary changes over time all in favor of making production more efficient. Artificial

cryopreservation, multiple ovulation and embryo transfer (MOET), in vitro fertilization, sex
determination of sperm or embryos, and nuclear transfer are technologies that are used to enhance the

technologies that have been generated to increase meat production. Food provides energy and

  • 2. Lecture Reflection ... This afternoon I spent about a half an hour on the phone with Mrs. Poirier discussing the details of my lecture that I will prepare for the freshman students for the Essentials of Dental Radiography didactic class. Students will be reading the chapter before the actual lecture so that they will be familiar with the subject. Mrs. Poirier asked to use the student s text book as a main source for the lecture and come up with some activity that actively engages the students during the lecture. She also suggested creating a short quiz that I can hand out to the students to assess their understanding of the lecture material. This quiz may be graded and used as one of their pop quiz depending on Mrs. Poirier s decision. The lecture time will be 30 minutes and ten minutes for class activity after the PowerPoint presentation. Today I read chapter 5 from The Essentials of Dental Radiography text book to gather information for my lesson plan. As I was reading the text, I was able to recall information that I learned four years ago when I was in the freshman class in the Dental Hygiene Program. I will probably have to read the chapter a few more times to memorize the content of the chapter to minimize looking at my notes during the presentation. I also reviewed the Bloom s Taxonomy of Learning Domains to be able to create a more effective lecture plan for the students. To obtain this information, I used the following link: http://www.nwlink.com/~donclark/hrd/bloom.html After researching the most effective way of writing a lesson plan and I also read instructions on how to write a S.M.A.R.T. goal statement. The acronym S.M.A.R.T. stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Results focused, Time bound. By using this information, I was able to create a focused and effective goal statement for my lecture PowerPoint presentation. After my research, I created the first draft of the lesson plan for my lecture on Radiation Safety. I Included the following items in my lesson plan: the goal of the presentation, Objectives that students should be able to accomplish after the lecture, the teaching method I will be using to educate the students, the method of delivery of the material, and student activities. • 3. Neonatal Reflex Essay Archaeologists have traced the existence of Homos (humans) in the taxonomic rank of Genus to about 2.5 million years ago. During this long period of time, until the subspecies Homo sapiens appeared, was a period when humans are not only the predator but also the prey. Newborns are especially vulnerable because they do not have the strength, or the ability to escape danger, thus newborns must develop some other mechanism to survive and are especially sensitive to their environment. Thus, babies are born with a number of infant reflexes to help them achieve that. Infant reflexes or neonatal reflexes are unlearned and involuntary responses present at birth that occurs due to a certain stimuli. These reflexes are predictable and are inhibited ... The infant would respond in such a way when exposed to sudden noise is because the noise represented danger and so the child initiated his or her fight or flight reaction, which is a primitive response. The infant startle reflex is usually gone by 16 weeks and is replaced by adult startle reflex. The difference between adult startle reflex vs infant startle reflex is that adults would flinch instead of waving arms and legs. The infant startle reflex would go away because the child would gain more and more control over her muscles and since the startle reaction is an overreaction, it gradually gets under ... • 4. Luncheon Grass This paper will be a visual description of Luncheon on the Grass (Musée d Orsay), an oil painting made by a leading French artist in the transition from realism to impressionism Édouard Manet, in 1863. A horizontal composition of 208 cm x 264.5 cm, the painting represents a luncheon in the forest. In the foreground of the painting there are two men and a woman having lunch. While they are casually having lunch, the two men are fully dressed, while the woman is fully naked, however, her hand rests on her leg, hiding her pubic area. She is wearing an orchid in her hair, a bracelet, a ribbon around her neck, and mule slippers. The man on the right is wearing a black flat round hat, a black jacket, a white shirt, an orange tie, grey trousers and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the foreground, in front of them, there are the woman s clothes, a basket of fruit, and a round loaf of bread. In the background, there is another woman barely dressed in a white dress who is bathing in a stream. She is too large compared to the rest of the people in the scene which makes her look like she s floating above them. There is a small boat farther on her right. The luncheon takes place in nature where the figures are surrounded by trees and grass, however, the roughly painted background lacks depth and the perspective is ignored giving the viewer the impression that the scene is more suggested than painted and that it does not take place in an outdoor, but in a studio. This impression is reinforced by an unrefined light that casts no shadows. Nevertheless, flat application of color, and lack of subtle gradation are obvious in the painting. Manet did not hide the brushstrokes on purpose, there are even some parts that look unfinished. Moreover, although there are some elements of fore shortening in the painting, they are still misplaced. All of this adds together to make the viewer feel that the painting is ... • 6. Zimbabwe Satire Satire Reflection The president of zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe is my main satire target. He was the prime minister of Zimbabwe since 1980 after Zimbabwe became independent from Britain. He then became president of Zimbabwe in1987 and still is by using fraud, voter indentation, and violence to silence the people. He is also the head of state in the world. Zimbabwe has been declining over the years. Currently, 72.3% percent of the population are under poverty line. Life expectancy in zimbabwe is only 58 and 95 percent of the population is unemployed. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This past rainy season there has been numerous floods mainly in southern zimbabwe. Since this past December, 249 people have died and thousands are homeless. Many of the victims are waiting for any international or government aid. The president has not sent any form of aid to the people or hospitals. All he has mentioned so far was that it was a National disaster. This is not suspicious as there are still many victims of 2014 flood who are still homeless and unable to go back to normal life due to not receiving aids. In the past, Mugabe has given people aid that did not benefit them such as a few bread and water or a couple of tshirts. I used situational irony, hyperbole, understatement and sarcasm I exaggerated how useless his aids are by showing how him dancing for them is the same as the aid he provides. Also the quote, We have said we will never collapse, never ever. We may have our droughts, our poverty, but as a people, we shall never collapse, never ever. is what he actually said about the people of zimbabwe, but in reality, the people are collapsing and as time pass the rate of the country and its people falling is increasing. Summary Of Popular Mechanics Of Lamb To The Slaughter Popular mechanics and lamb to the slaughter In the story popular mechanics and the story lamb the slaughter I thought it was interesting how they interconnected with one another it s like to story for the same book just a little difference. The story lamb to the slaughter was so good but a little crazy with all that happened at once to it was kinda messed up and disturbing but still a good story. Now the story popular mechanics was more like a regular messed up divorce or something and with the two idiots were just non stop bickering and fighting the two adults just would not stop, it started with the wife/ex yell at him to get out and like ok cool that s probably a fight or something but when he comes back just no why it like u want a fight and he starts asking for stuff like why just don t, then they like fighting over a baby like just why. The authors Raymond Carver. Ok so my thoughts about the lamb to the slaughter is just worse like what is wrong with them they just take it way too far like she kills her husband for breaking here heart like why and then just acts like nothing had even happened like ok, later when the cops arrive she acts like nothing happened, like going to the store acting like she was there when the murder happened cool but the worst parts when she fed the murder weapon to the cops like omg ... • 9. Effects Of Movie Piracy Pirated movies have grown over the last couple of years. You can see someone on any given weekend when you walk through the grocery store trying to sale you a movie. Piracy is defined by Dictionary.com as, the unauthorized reproduction or use of a copyrighted book, recording, television program, patented invention, trademarked product, etc. Therefore, a pirated movie is when a movie is released without the owner or person that got the material copy righted it knowing or consenting to the release. Movie piracy is unethical because it skews the box office financial numbers, decreases the chance for sequels, and hurts the theaters, even though it does provide a means for people that are less likely to go to the theaters. The movie box office ranks movies by how much it grosses in the theater over the span of time that it is in theaters. The span of time can be by day, month, or year. However, we must first understand that when you watch, receive, or supply a pirated movie there is no money made by the production company. For instance, the movie may have been seen by five thousand people but if two thousand people view pirated copies then the number reported will be the profit brought in by the three thousand people. When you look at the numbers three thousand may seem large but when you think about a movie ticket being nine dollars you will only be making $2.7 million of the $4.5 million that the movie would have made in the theaters. The money that the movies make goes back ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was common for the artist to paint several versions of a subject, rethinking the composition and the quality of the painting in the process; this was the case with Poussin s two paintings of The Abduction of the Sabine Women , which he created around 1633. Both paintings, with their strongly opposing diagonals, are illustrations of the dynamic and self confident style that Poussin adopted for many of his scenes from earliest history. Poussin perhaps used the small stages with wax figures and carefully arranged curtains, described by his colleagues. In his painting Eliezer and Rebecca at the Well created in 1648, he used the same technic. In his late works Poussin may well have used such a stage to plan the rigorous composition of Saints Peter and John Healing the Lame Man ,a painting from about 1655 that shows the artist responding to the striking and solid classicism of Raphael s The School of Athens. • 13. Analysis Of Disney Company And Its Impact On The World Of... Despite nearly all forms of modern media readily available at all times in the pockets of our jeans and hoodies, influences from media on how people perceive gender and its surrounding issues is often overlooked or ignored under the premise of normalization. One of the top contributors of media is The Walt Disney Company and its affiliated companies such as ABC, Pixar, Touchstone Pictures, Lucasfilm, and Marvel Entertainment, and from a young age many children grow up on the films, characters, books, and television series that are produced by the Walt Disney Company. In the long history of media produced by The Walt Disney Company, beginning with its early groundbreaking animated shorts all the way to the recent Moana, Disney has been the subject of much debate, criticism, and praise regarding its portrayal of male and female characters. All forms of media has portrayed both genders in stereotypical ways (Lindsey, 2015, p. 414), and because Disney is a media giant, there is a lot of material that is directed to children that influences how they perceive gender from an early age on up, and Disney is no stranger to portraying men and women in stereotypical ways, even in its most recent films and television series. Disney has usually depicted women as princesses, queens, homemakers (Yerby, Baron, Lee, p. 4) and villains that pursue the goal of usurping far younger protagonists goals of happily ever after. • 14. The Parable Of The Sower In His teachings, Christ used parables to pass earthly stories with a heavenly meaning to the multitude. He used parables in His teachings to not only fulfill prophecy but also to enlighten the true hearted to challenge hardened hearts of the people (Matt. 13:34 35, KJV). Among His parables, the parable of the sower was the parable inclusive of other parables (soil grounds and the sower) making it one of the main parables of Christ. Four different soils were used to represent four different kinds of people and a sower was to represent a teacher of the word of God. The parable of the sower therefore compares various types of human nature, as the soil grounds and the attitude of people towards the teachings of Christ. The seeds that fell on the rocky soil represented the expressive people with a shallow and superficial belief in Christ s teachings (Matt. 13:5 6, KJV). Christ clarified that the people who receive the word with joy but turn away when difficulty or persecution comes are emotional as they try to do what they feel is right in their own way. This explains their lack of commitment towards the teachings of the word and shallow fading interest soon. Jesus meant to teach that the disciples should preserve and never to give up by having a strong faith in Him (Colossians 2:6, KJV). The defiant kind of people with fixed mind and prejudice about the teachings were represented by the seeds that fell on the path (Matt. 13:3 4, KJV). Christ described the people who could hear ... Hypertension (HTN) is a major public health issue affecting 70 million African American males in the United States (CDC,2015) and predisposing them to cardiovascular diseases (Scranton, Goldstein, Stecher, 2013). The WHO (2013) defines HTN as a systolic blood pressure of equal or greater than 140 mm/Hg or a diastolic blood pressure of equal or greater than 90 mm/ Hg. In addition, a large portion of patient s diagnosed with HTN also have a diagnosis of erectile dysfunction (ED), both of which when left untreated can have a negative impact on quality of life. ED has been defined by Adebusoye et al., (2012), the lack of sufficient sexual intercourse due to inability of a penile erection in male. Compounding the high incidence of HTN and ED among African American males, is the problem of non adherence to prescribed anti hypertensive medications. Real or perceived ED associated with the adverse side effects of anti hypertensive medications is a chief reason for non adherence to anti hypertensive medications among males (Kakkavas et al., 2013). This research study will use The Health Belief Model to investigate the correlation between African American males with dual diagnoses of HTN and ED who are non adherent to anti hypertensive medications. More specifically, this study will scrutinize the adverse side effects of anti hypertensive medications in relation to complications of untreated HTN, one of which is ED. If the investigators cared more about the scientific or medical advancement than the well being of their participants, they would cross a line that prohibits treating human subjects as a means to an end. When this line is crossed, there is little left to protect patients from a callous disregard of their welfare for the sake of research goals. Informed consent would not matter because of the unbalanced relationship between the knowledge and authority among the researcher and the subject. Approval by an institutional board, although it is important, can be subject to change in its responsiveness to patients interests when they conflict with the welfares of the researchers. Going back to Paul s case, he agrees to enter a clinical trial which was suggested by his oncologist. The study, that Paul has agreed to enter, has claimed that this research team has created a new drug that may be on its way to cure cancer. Normal bodily functions are often considered impolite and gross. Beauty is a way of life as well, which can, at times, be a little unpolished. In The Lady s Dressing Room, the male character and, at protagonist at first glance, Strephon, seems to go on a vile adventure because of his curiosity and blinding adoration for his lover, Celia. His blinding adoration became glaring disgust as his adventure through Celia s dressing room continued. Though at first the poem seemed misogynistic, Swift did not criticize just women, but people in general. He mocked women and their seemingly revolting task of beautification, as well as men for their curiosity and false, implausible standards for women and beauty. My first opinion of The Lady s Dressing Room was that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Strephon now is less concerned with her beauty and far more disturbed about how dirty she is otherwise. While Strephon searches the room, the reader, at first, is led to believe that Celia (and women in general) are the main targets of the poem. While they may be targeted, it eventually appears that women may not have been the only muse for Swift s poem. Men, especially those who place women on pedestals and compare them to goddesses, are destined to be disappointed once they realize that women are not goddesses, but, in fact, people. ABSTRACT During 2013 2014 growing seasons, forty three isolates of Pestalotiopsis spp were recovered from guava leaves and fruits showed scab symptoms from different regions in EL Beheira governorate. Five Pestalotiopsis species were recognized according to the morphological characteristics of fungal colony (Colony color, Size and number of acervulii) and conidia (Length, Width, and Color of median cells, Length and the number of apical and basal appendages); they were P. psidii, P. microspora, P. clavispora, P. neglecta and Pestalotiosis sp. All the isolates recovered were pathogenic to the cv. Balady of guava fruits. However, P.psidii isolates were the most highly pathogenic followed by P. neglecta, P. clavispora, P. microspora and Pestalotiopsis sp, respectively. RAPD PCR analysis using five random oligonucleotide primers revealed DNA fingerprints and considerable variations were revealed with primers tested. Bar marker showed a common band for all Pestalotiopsis isolates and species at 500bp, while BAQ, 18 and A9B4 exhibited banding pattern similar for all isolates of the same species which were different from that of the other species. The group identified tasks and then everyone worked on their part. The committee then reviewed the work that was done and determined next steps and the work moved along until the group realized they only had a month left to finish the project.
