Case Study On Tongaat
I have taken the liberty of deciding to conduct my research task on a very small area by the name
of Tongaat. It is a sugarcane growing township in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, which is about 37
km north of the popular Durban city and 28 km south of Stanger. The area has now become part of
eThekwini, the Greater Durban metropolitan area. The very town was established in 1945 and its
name originates from its river s name, Tongaat, the Zulu word for the Strychnos mackenii trees that
flourish on its banks. The populationis pre dominantly the Indian race holding more than 50% of
the total population and the Black race in minority were the highest number of black people found

Conducting various experiments was hard at first because I didn t know how was going go about
at the start of this project.
I must say that one problem I had with regards to starting this project was the fact that I had to
find a way of actually collecting data and with much thought I realized that a questionnaire would
be perfect because it would allow me to target certain individuals of different categories in terms of
the different lifestyles people have.
Collecting information was actually much harder than I thought because of the travelling distances
I had to make and it sometimes was inconvenient but I still went ahead and got the questionnaires

The area of Tongaat is in need of serious development in terms of upgrading certain facilities,
creating a better standard of living for the people who actually live in Tongaat as this would
increase the centripetal forces that lie within Tongaat allowing the level of settlement hierarchy to
increase from being a minor country town to at least a metropolitan area as a start for the

Intercultural Identity
An individual s culture, upbringing, privileges, orientation etc. all affect how one views the
world. In order to confront difficult issues, such as social justice, one must realize how their
positionality effects their epistemologies. Takacs (2002) states that when we develop the skill of
understanding how we know what we know, we acquire a key to lifelong learning (p. 28). Being
able to discern why we view the world in a certain way leads to truths about one s own identity,
such as their privileges in society.
However, these identities are not always apparent. Tatum (2000) states that it is our targeted
identities that hold our attention, while the dominant identities go unexamined (p. 7). In order to
develop a holistic sense of self, we must examine all parts of our being. As my interviewer
remarked: you have to know who you are, and how you show up in pieces, and the impact that may
give to others, because that definitely contributes (A. Rubango, personal communication, September
13, 2017). Every person has their own multitude of identities. My interviewer s own identity
contains numerous components as a female, an immigrant from the Congo, and having a middle
class SES. Through her many target and dominant identities, she has acknowledged how these
pieces have given her a unique viewpoint on the world, and how they have affected her view on
issues, such as those pertaining to social justice.
Exploring one s identity is crucial, but it is vital on the

I Am A Car Insurance
In November 2008 I was on my way to get car insurance, when in an instant my life had changed. It
was that day that I vowed never to drive without insurance ever again.
At this time my license was suspended due to the fact that I had an accident earlier in the year
and didn t have proof of insurance. That morning I woke up frustrated because I had two weeks of
maternity leave left, then I would be returning back to work, and I still didn t have car insurance. I
just made up in my mind that I didn t care how much It ll cost I have to get this car insured. I
called a couple of places to get a quote, finally I found an insurance company that was reasonably
priced. The agent however wanted me to come in to sign papers. My husband Jonathan was at
work Hello he said Hey babe really quick I found a really good quote for car insurance, but they
want me to come in to sign papers I said Indiah call mom and have her take you there Babe it s
right up the street I ll be there and back in no time. Your mom doesn t have to come all of the
way from Rancho to Riverside to take me up the street, I ll be fine. Jonathan wasn t buying my
sales pitch but he didn t have time to argue. Indiah I have to go back to work, I love you please be
safe . I love to too I ll call you when I get there. I understood that Jonathan didn t want to risk the
possibility of someone hitting me or vice versa. He was concerned since I was just involved in an

Reasons For Banning Pitbulls
Pit bulls should not be banned. In recent years, bans have been put on Pit bulls in many areas.
Because of some bad dog owners that may train these dogs to attack or fight, few people view
Pitbulls as kind and loving pets. Most people have negative opinions about them because of what
they see on the news With a little education and some positive exposure, more of us would see just

Essay on The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
In an article on sin, Samuel Taylor Coleridge defines sin as an evil which has its ground or origin
in the agent, and not in the compulsion of circumstances. (65). Coleridge s definition of sin
excludes any outside cause of sin, besides the agent himself. Coleridge s poem The Rime of the
Ancient Mariner is a poem of sin, but it is also a poem that questions etiology. John Livingston
Lowes writes The relentless line of cause and consequence runs likewise, unswerving as the
voyage, through the poem (68). Cause and consequence in the poem, however, should not be taken
at face value. Certainly the violent act of the Mariner has consequences, but Coleridge also brings
a logical fallacy into light: Post hoc ergo propter hoc, or after this,... Show more content on

Because it is unprovoked, it fits Coleridge s definition of sin: A sin is an evil which has its
ground or origin in the agent, and not in the compulsion of circumstances ( On Original Sin 65).
The mariner s assault had no foundation or rhyme or reason. In fact, the assault is a rejection of an
extension of hospitality from nature. True hospitality requires a suppression of selfish desire.
Although the bird s presence was hospitable, it was out of the mariner s control, threatening his
self. The rising up of self, striving to assert its power, inhibits fellowship. D.W. Harding asserts that
The Mariner s sin...was that in killing the albatross, he rejected a social offering...The Mariner
wantonly obliterated something which loved him and which represented in a supernatural way
the possibility of affection in the world (78). The Mariner s rejection of the albatross s extension
of hospitality or of fellowship to the Mariner is self assertion, but it also paves the way for a self
caused isolation. Harding goes on to claim that the Mariner s rejection of the albatross s
affection was the most terrible possibility among the sins (78). The one stanza describing the
Mariner s violence against nature sets the stage for the entirety of the poem. It is hard to avoid
religious associations with the murder of the albatross. The albatross is described as a pious bird
(Coleridge 432). As if it had been a Christian soul, the seamen on the Mariner s ship hail

Analysis Of Madame X
Abstract Madame X, also known as the Portrait of Madame X, is a famous painting made by
John Singer Sargent in the year 1884. A popular portrait too many, due to her mystery and
anonymous state, was once a highly controversial piece to many. As soon as John released this
painting in The Salon , one of the most popular art exhibits, the painting was greatly criticized due
to the model seeming to be flaunting and over conceited. Despite the initial negativity from the
French crowd, Madame X would soon become one of the most popular portraits in history. Now
sitting in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, this portrait has gained much praise and
appreciation from many art lovers around the world who find beauty in her mysterious figure.

When John had made this piece, he titled it Madame X to leave the viewers with a sense of
mystery and dramatization. Many may wonder who this mysterious woman is, and what made her
stand out to John Sargent. This mysterious woman was soon discovered as Virginie AmГ©lie

January 29th, 1859, she was raised by her father Anatole Placide Avegno and her mother Marie

The Development Of The Pair Bond
In our culture the relationship most often discussed when describing human interaction and that
which is considered the most ideal or normal relationship (demonstrated by cultural morality and
various forms of media) is that of the male female couple. This pair bonding is a phenomenon that
exists to some degree in the natural world, but occurs most prominently in humans. The
development of the pair bond is one of the single most important aspects of humanevolution,
culture, and relationships as we understand them today. This behavior has driven human sociality,
reproduction, and cultural development through evolutionary, physiological, and psychological
means. By understanding and assessing the history and evolution of pair bonding, the means by
which our cultural foundations were established can be discovered. To determine how the pair
bond has been established, one must look at the various evolutionary pressures that lead to this
type of behavior. As Herbert (2005) explains, the reproductive strategies of organisms are often
defined by biologists as r or K strategies. The former tend to be smaller and live in unstable
environments with their reproductive strategy being to produce as many offspring as possible
(potentially only once in their lifetime), many of them dying before reaching the reproductive age
of their already short life expectancy. The offspring with the highest fitness are the ones that survive
to this reproductive stage. In contrast, K strategists

Some Thoughts on Health Is Wealth
Some Thoughts On Health Is Wealth
Many people are pursuing wealth and in the process losing their precious health.
Is frantic efforts of making more wealth really worth the price of losing your health?
The better your Health, the better are your chances of making more wealth.
Allocate some time in your busy schedule for giving your body proper exercise, nourishment and
rest. This is going to prove to be greatly useful in the longer run.
If you are addicted to Drugs like ganja, hashish, marijuana etc. Please, confess about your addiction
to a sensible serious minded elderly person and overcome the addiction. Otherwise, this will
completely ruin your health, wealth and soul.
No True Friend will ever want you to get addicted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Inthe process they ignore their health. They do not take care in eating food at the right time. In the
process of gathering more wealth, they also undergo a lot of stress.
So many people spend their health in gaining wealth and then spend their wealth to regain their
health.
Money can buy a tonic but not health, we have to do a number of things to maintain our health .
Now because of lack of exercises and proper food and stress the wealth may increase but health
begins to suffer. It has been proved that overwork without care for health leads to a number of
diseases. Disease like stomach ulcer, obesity are due to bad eating habits. Lack of exercises and
stress leads to high cholesterol, Blood pressure and heart problems. So it is better to take care of
your health.
If we have health, we probably will be happy and if we have both health and happiness we have all
the wealth we need. Health and intellect are two blessings of life. Happiness lies first of all in health.
Mahatma gandhi says that it is health that is the real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.
Taking care of one s health should be a continuous process. We should follow a routine of
exercises and proper food. It is said that exercise if persued continuously help us to gain strength.
We should also follow a diet that is beneficial for our health. Going on diet does not mean limiting
your food. We should aim at improving the quality of our food intake.

Essay On Flag Desecration
The flag of the United States of America isn t only just a piece of cloth, it is a symbol of hope
and freedom that represents our entire nation and the brave men and women who serve to
protect it. As American citizens, we must protect our flag from any harm. I love my flag, and
the country that it represents, but I know as much as anyone that America isn t perfect. That is
why if I believe that something is wrong or needs to be changed in our country, then I can speak
up, I can protest, I can make my elected officials hear my voice and listen to what I have to say.
It is my constitutional right and a blessing to do so; but using the flag as a torch is a form of
protest that should be illegal, and that I will not tolerate. It is our duty as American citizens to
protect the flag and remind everyone of the freedoms and liberties that it represents. The American
Flag is a symbol of hope and freedom in our country. It glides high, reminding us of the freedoms
that we have. It gives hope to all of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Adrian Cronauer, a

So it will take Daimler AG quite a long time to return the investment.
In order to go the SAP RFID technology way, the Daimler AG needs to totally change their current
system which is called manual kanban process. In the new system, the technique of kanban system
still exists, but they are using the RFID technology to replace the kanban card. As the result of
using the manual kanban system for many years, the staffs and employees will feel difficult and
need quite a long time to adapt to the new system and all these will reduce the efficiency at the
beginning.
Also the links between the warehouses and facilities also need to be adjusted and the adjusting time
can be depend on how the project being performed for replacing the manual kanban process. The
supply chain management will require some changes and to make all these smooth can t be done in
a short time, and some problems will occur at the starting phase.
In addition, Daimler AG is the first automotive manufacture that is trying to combine the kanban
with RFID technology with the help of SAP. Because of lacking of experience the risks for the
project is increasing and nobody can ensure that this will be a success. If the project fails, the whole
manufacturing system will be affected and the profitability will decrease based on that situation.
All these make the implementing the SAP way not that simple as this is a pilot project and

Brief Summary And Theoretical Molar Heat Of Combustion
Graph 1 Description:
This graph is identical to experiment 1 graph 1 as it compares the experimental and theoretical
molar heats of combustion. Being the same concept this graph shows how the experimental molar
heat of combustion is a scale less than the theoretical molar heat of combustion. The significance
behind the scale of this graph where the experimental is lower that the theoretical, is how there is a
pattern for which every fuel follows the same trend. Also it shows the average heats of combustion
and which alkane has the leading heat output rate.
Graph 2 Description:
This graph is identical to experiment 1 graph 2 as it shows a pattern between the scales of carbon
atoms. The higher amount of carbon in a longer chain results in a higher molar heat of combustion.
This supports the theory behind bond energy as more bonds break, more bonds form which add up
to making a higher molar heat of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the change in mass and temperature is small for both candle wax (and paraffin in this
experiment), it is clear that there is little changes when these fuels are combusting in their physical
states. This means that these fuels last longer but are an unreliable source of energy as a fuel. The
change in temperature being small suggests that these alkanes produce poor heat output, however
that fully contradicts their high experimental and theoretical heats of combustion and percentage
yields. The fact that the change in temperature was so low can be experimental side effects. One
being that candle wax particularly produces the extra energy source of light possibly more so than
paraffin and even the experiment 1 alcohols. Another experimental error as to why the change in
temperature isn t very large could be due to the surrounds not being a fully insulator set up

The Conflict Of The Syrian Civil War
The conflicts, especially political conflicts, were not formed overnight. They have been
accumulating for at least four years. The Syrian Civil War that displaced millions of refugees
officially began on March 15th, 2011 when protesters stormed the capital of Damascus demanding
democratic reforms and the release of political prisoners from the Assad regime. (Kareem Fahim)
Unfortunately, these campaigns were met with gunfire, as only a month later the Syrian army
engaged in a series of military attacks on its own people leading to the death of over 1,000
civilians. The Civil War that led to the accumulation of refugees started for a series of complicated
reasons. For one thing, Shia Sunni conflicts persisting to this day have caused great tensions
between communities. The Alawite (Shia) dominated Al Assad government has oppressed Sunni
Muslims (the majority of Muslims) with armed forces for more than 50 years, which enormously
intensified the situation in Syria. For another, the poor economic conditions in Syria also
contributed a great deal to this war. Although President Al Assad had carried out a series of
reforms in 2000, people in Syria suffered from high unemployment rate (14.9%) and low average
income (below US $49). (Central Intelligence Agency) A power vacuum exists in the region, with
ISIS (aka Islamic State of Iraqand Levant), Al Nusra, and Kurds all battling for control in Syria.

Summary Of The Piano Lesson
In August Wilson s The Piano Lesson, there are multiple characters that struggle with things that
happened in the past. Bernice Charles is often shown fighting with her brother, Boy Willie, over

thing Bernice fights is her familys history as slaves and this is shown through her daughter s lack
of knowledge of her family s history. She says she does this to keep her daughter safe because

When Bernice s brother, Boy Willie, comes into town he wants to sell the piano in hopes that the
money will help him purchase Sutter s land. He says that when he sells the watermelons and the
piano he will put them two parts with the part I done save. I walk in there. Tip my hat. Lay the
money down on the table. Get my deed and walk on out. (Wilson, 1210) This land that he wants
to purchase and earn a living is where his ancestors used to work as slaves. If Boy Willie ended
up owning the land, it would be a big step towards equality for the African American community.
They were once slaves, but the piano might give them a chance to own the land and make the

theme of the book, the past can be beneficial. If Bernice or Boy Willie were to use something
from their past, the piano, they could create something good on each of their lives. Bernice could
hold lessons and make money that way or Boy Willie could sell it and use the money to buy the
land, both ways the would benefit the family.
Bernice denies Boy Willie s many attempts to persuade her. She does not want to let go of the piano

The Google Android Operating System
The Google Android Operating System To fully understand the Google Android operating
system, you must look back beyond the development of the very first version of the Android OS.
In 1999, former manufacturing engineer at Apple, Andy Rubin, joined with two other men, Matt
Hershenson and Joe Britt, to found Danger Inc. The company aimed to provide hardware and
software for mobile devices. Their most notable device was the T Mobile Sidekick. The company
spearheaded the idea of a client server model and is credited with the creation of the App
Marketplace. Danger Inc. was sold in 2008 to Microsoft, but the idea of the AndroidOS was brewing
several years before this. In 2003, Rubin made the decision to leave Danger Inc. to work on
Android. For several years, Rubin funded his ideas out of pocket and did not produce any new
products. His aim was similar to that of Danger s to revolutionize smartphone software and open
source development of ideas previously started by Danger. Android came from Linux, but has since
become an independent operating system.
2005 came around and Android had still not put out its first product. Rubin s focus was on web
connected experiences and to create an environment where developers could apply their skills. This
new idea attracted investors, namely Google. Google was interested in staying competitive with the
big companies in the smartphone market at the time Blackberry and Microsoft. The idea that

John Mill s On Liberty
In John Mill s On Liberty, he addresses the topic of individual decision making and the
restrictions that can be placed on it. Mill argues that if an object or action has potential for harm
but also the potential to accomplish an outcome other than harm, then that event or object should
not be forcibly regulated or restricted. He uses an example of a person crossing a dangerous
bridge as support to his argument. Assuming that this individual is in a reasonable mental state,

Furthermore, a rescue crew could be sent and crash on the way there. There are far reaching

Persuasion Techniques In Scratch Beginnings By Adam Shepard
In Scratch Beginnings, the author explains his experience being homeless and having to live at
a shelter. The book takes place in a town named Charleston. The story manly focusses on the
author Adam Sheppard, who is homeless, no job, and lives at a shelter. When one day he goes
to Curtis McNeil, so Curtis can listen to a speech he had prepared. Him writing it as a book is
the best possible to share his story any other form of writing would be too long. Ultimately, I m
analyzing the way Adam Shepard appeals to Curtis McNeil with his persuasion techniques that
he uses in order to get a job at Fast Company. First, Shepard try s to establish his demeanor by
going to his office and waiting for Curtis to come back by doing to this it shows that he is person
who won t give up quickly. He also uses a convincing tone when he finally meets Curtis by telling
him that I m pretty much one the hardest working guys you re going to find in Charleston. (97.) By
saying this he stating that there are not too many hard working people that could match his work
ethic. With this attitude it should appeal to Curtis because having an asset like Shepard would help
his company not hurt him. Another example Shepard use is when he is talking about a bar by uses

Heinrich Boll s Context and Lost Honour
Long Essay The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum
Authors often use characters within their novels to show the consequences of challenging cultural
boundaries and, in turn, display their own personal concerns. It is not uncommon for characters to
reflect an author s ideology regarding social groups in their contemporary time periods. It is clear
that this is certainly the case with the 1975 novel The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum, (also
referred to as How Violence Develops and Where it Can Lead), written by the German Author,
Heinrich Boll. The Lost Honour is, on the surface, an attack on yellow journalism and the damage
it causes to the lives of the people reported on. However, with a more in depth analysis of the novel
we are able to see ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only does it imply that Blum is a criminal but also that she is not smart enough to organize
the crime itself. Ultimately Blum defies this suggestion by committing the crime of murder
without any help from a male companion. In the process Blum is being punished for going past
cultural boundaries by her incarceration for the murder of Totges. When looking at Bolls political
views it is clear that he has a deep concern for inequality of power. His time spent in Germany
during the Nazi reign has led him to distrust dictatorship, the ultimate form of unequal power. In
relation with the treatment of Blum in The Lost Honour his inability to except the unequal power
in society has led him to oppose the patriarchal society in which contemporary Germany was in at
that point in time. The treatment of Blum after her struggle to break free from her expected social
role demonstrates Bolls understanding of the problems faced by women and his deep concerns
relating to them.
Personal experiences in relation to the male characters in The Lost Honour demonstrate Bolls
inability to accept the social power held by strong male figures and their abusing of this power. It is
clear that it is the males that hold all the power within The Lost Honour through the delegation of
occupations. Beizmenne is the chief crime commissioner, Totges is a renowned News journalist
and Gotten is a criminal mastermind. In

offences should be to deter future offending with reference to primary and secondary sources.

But what about custodial life sentences? Sentencing an offender to life in prison will mean that
there will be rehabilitation of the offender but there will be no chance for them to go back to life
as a regular citizen hence deterrence is primary, here. They are considered so dangerous to the
public and prone to reoffend that the only way to deter them from reoffending is a custodial
sentence for the rest of their life. When deterring by rehabilitation is not an option, deterring by
imprisonment is used. Again Making deterrence a very primary purpose of a sentence.
The theories of punishment
Desert theories: This theory is about punishment being the right response to crime as long as it is
suitable for the seriousness of the offence. That a person who has committed a crime should and
deserves to be punished. An eye for an eye so to say. The theory is about retribution but it faces
difficulties where it may be less straightforward to determine what is an appropriate punishment for
what crime.
Rehabilitivate theories: This theory focuses on the consideration that people commit crimes
because they are struggling in life. Rehabilitation is crucial in order to prevent them from
reoffending and in turn becoming a productive member of society. This theory believes that
treatment needs to be adjusted individually for each

The Effect Of Advertising On Society
The Harms Of Advertisements
Today, in such a globalized economy, advertisements play a vital role in helping to reach
consumers across the globe. Compared to the past, advertisements appear to be much more
numerous now and their aim is to lure people into buying products at all costs, even if it means
misleading the average consumer. Many turn a blind eye to these promotions as they see it as an
essential tool in an increasingly capitalistic free market to fuel economic growth. Unfortunately, the
surge of unchecked advertising has lead to some adverse effects on societies whether they be moral

The misconceptions of advertisements can clearly be seen in this case as it is implying that your
life will always be dull if you are not a member of our establishment even if a person is already a
member of a similar establishment. As a result, people might start to find things that are wrong with
their lives when their isn t and convince themselves that the only solution to the nonexistent
problem that is to become a member of this establishment. These misleading advertisements can
also lead people to develop body image issues especially women as they begin to think that the
reason why they aren t getting the same attention as the woman in the advertisement is because they
don t look like her even though they might look like perfectly healthy individuals themselves. In
most societies, it is considered quite important that women prioritize their physical appearance in
order to attract men as it is expected that men are to make the first move in a romantic setting. This
is showcased in the SAFRA gym advertisement where the lean fit woman manages to catch the eye
of the two muscular men who completely abandon their workout. This gym advertisement targets
the younger female audiences by giving the impression that if you want to be like that woman who
can attract two strong men, you must come to our gym. The advertisers use this

fundamentally to embellish the outsides of basilicas and different religious structures. The most
punctual Gothic models were stone figures of holy people and the Holy Family used to enhance the

Issue 4: Homeowner s Coverage
Your current homeowner s coverage is adequate from a baseline perspective, but I believe some
minor improvements can be made to your coverage. With the cash flow we currently have available,
minor tweaks can be made to your policy to ensure that you are covered under the most strenuous
of circumstances and can have peace of mind regarding your home.
Recommendation A: My first is that you increase your base coverage by $10,000; this will cover
you for the full value of your home as you currently are covered for only 96% of its value.
Advantages:
The advantage of increasing your homeowner s coverage on your dwelling from $310,000 to
$320,000 is that you will receive the full replacement cost of your home in the event of a
catastrophe.
Increasing your homeowner s coverage is also quite cheap; the additional cost is only $35 per year.
Disadvantages:
The additional homeowner s coverage is cheap, but modest in its advantages. The $35 you are
spending on these could easily go elsewhere.
Recommendation B: My second recommendation is you take an inventory of your personal
property.
Advantages:
A personal property inventory will ensure you know the value of your possessions in the event of a
catastrophe.
Appraisals of high value items such as your jewelry, wedding ring, antiques, and guns will be
beneficial not only for your personal property inventory but also for your

The nuclear family has always been considered the norm in society ever since the industrial
revolution but in society today the single parent family has had a dramatic increase from around

family is such an important social institution, playing such vital functions in maintaining society
that it is found in some form in every society. However although most societies in the world have
some established arrangements for the production, rearing and socialisation of children this does
not mean that these arrangements always involve the prime responsibility resting on the family.
However there have been criticisms of Murdock suggesting that in his passion for his work he may

Parsons stated that the nuclear family performs two core functions; the primary socialization of
children, and the stabilization of adult personalities. Parsons argues that the women s role in the
family is expressive , providing warmth, security and emotional support to the husband and
children, and the males role is instrumental , as the breadwinner. This view of the family and
gender roles for men and women is quite old fashioned. Nowadays conjugal roles are more
symmetrical. Women can now be wage earners and it no longer seems deviant for men to take a

The Cambodian Genocide And The Khmer Rouge
The Cambodian genocide happened between 1975 and 1979 in the country of Cambodia. Almost 2
million Cambodians, Chinese, Vietnamese, Buddhist, Cham, intellectuals, anyone with above a 7th
grade education, and western influenced people were systematically killed during the genocide. Pol
Pot and the Khmer Rouge started the genocide on April 17th, 1975 when they evacuated the city of
Phnom Penh along with other major cities and forced people into the countryside where their work
camps were. Even though Pol Potand the Khmer rougefailed to create a Pure Kampuchean Society ,
their actions devastated all of Cambodia. Millions of Cambodians were displaced from their
homes and lost their belongings. The trauma of the work camps caused PTSD in millions of
people, which have been passed down to generations who did not experience the genocide.
Various diseases and famine have also affected many Cambodians after the genocide. Despite this,
many Cambodians were willing to share their gruesome past. For example, Loung Ung,
Cambodian genocide survivor, wrote the memoir First They Killed My Father. Her memoir
describes her struggles as a five year old girl leaving behind everything she considered as home.
Through her experiences, she communicates to her audience an important theme: that people are
willing to do anything for family.

Fossil Fuels And Renewable Energy Essay
Finding energy sources is an issue that polarizes scientists, politicians and citizens alike. The most
critical points of this debate are at fossil fuels and renewable energy. Energy efficiency is arguably
the most dire concern facing the planet, because it significantly impacts all areas of everyday life.
Common ground can be found in this controversy because both parties do agree that humans have a
responsibility to future generations. That responsibility is to preserve the resources of the Earth,
while offering this generation energy that is affordable and accessible.
Many people contend that fossil fuels, while being the most cost effective source of energy, have
detrimental effects on the environment. Others argue that fossil fuels have little negative
environmental impact and that producing alternative energy is too economically prohibitive to be
feasible. In 2010, the Gallup Poll conducted a national poll that found half of the Americans
surveyed favored expanding energy production via fossil fuels even if it harms the environment.
This was the case in nearly every major demographic subgroup, although self identified liberals
remained constant in supporting environmental protection as the higher priority (McDermott).
Of these two types of energy production, fossil fuels like oil, gas, and coal make up about ninety
percent of the world s energy usage. Nuclear power takes up five percent of this equation, with the
remaining renewable energy resources splitting

The Territorial Status Of Puerto Rico
While some groups tend to separate themselves, differences are what make humans inherently
similar. According to Mahatma Gandhi, Our ability to reach unity in diversity will be the beauty
and the test of our civilization . Even though some may feel different than others, this does not
mean that everyone cannot join together with time. If people of different backgrounds and
perspectives unite, they can overcome any divisive barriers constructed by the past. Sometimes,
barriers can exist in places where one would least expect them, even in seemingly united nations.
One example of a hidden divide present in the Western world is the territorial status of Puerto Rico.
Despite American ownership of the island, Puerto Rican citizens are not granted the same rights
and privileges as citizens of the 50 states. Despite Puerto Rico s long American history and attempts
to gain statehood status, Puerto Ricans are still treated differently by the federal government. This
ought to be changed. Puerto Rico should be granted statehood status as a result of the fact that it
would improve the territory s stability, strengthen American moral and social dynamics, and benefit
the entire American populous.
The statehood debate can be somewhat contentious, but there are some facts that both sides can
agree to be true. The first is that the social and cultural dynamics of Puerto Rico and the 50 states
are somewhat different. Many fear that Puerto Rico is too culturally distinct to be

Historically, misconceptions about coastal and other aquatic adaptations are persistent in
archaeology due to: (1) long standing ideas that aquatic resources are marginal foods, (2) unclear
definitions of what constitutes aquatic versus terrestrial resources, (3) changing sea levels, erosion,

Juvenile Neutralization
Do juveniles use justifications and rationalizations to neutralize their behavior? A number of studies
do, in fact, find that young people do seek justification before engaging in delinquent behavior
(Siegel and Welsh, 2015). But Ronald Akers (1997) asserts that adherence to neutralizing attitudes
has been found to be moderately related to delinquent and criminal behavior. Akers suggests that
while there is support for the theory it may be because neutralization attitudes dispose individuals to
violating the law instead of offering rationalizations for committing delinquent acts. According to
Tibbetts and Hemmens (2010), studies that have attempted to empirically test neutralization theory
tend to yield inconsistent results. The major

Othello was first performed by the King s Men at the court of King James 1 on November 1,

he traces his character which transforms his sources so exquisitely. His concept of tragedy is
partly Greek and partly his hero through the arousing of pity and fear. The Greek concept of a

Though destiny plays a distinct part in Shakespearean tragedies as well, the tragic catastrophe

Analysis Of O Brother Where Art Thou
O Brother, Where Art Thou? is a Coen brothers film that was based on Homer s epic, The Odyssey.
The setting of the movie was during the depression era in Mississippi. The movie s tone, characters,

This song was popular in the 1930 s because it was an escape from the pains of the real world and
a reminder of the happier past. The blues was also big during this time because the public can

Charles Dodgson Research Paper
Sometimes I ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast (Carroll 5). Charles
Dodgson, the author of two of the most famous children s books in the world, was a very
peculiar man. He wrote under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. Carroll is famous for writing Alice s
Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There. Much
of Dodgson s characteristics and life experiences influenced how he composed his novels. Before
Dodgson began writing novels, he wrote poems. These poems were full of nonsense language and
sentences that do not make sense. These poems influenced his writing by setting the scene for his
books. He grew up in the Victorian time period and many of the characteristics of this time period...

Lewis Carroll is the pseudonym of Charles Dodgson. Charles Dogson was a well known author
and poet. Dogson s experiences in his life influenced how he wrote and how he created his
characters in his novels. He was famous for his nonsense language in his poetry. His nonsense
language created the atmosphere of Wonderland and Looking Glass World. Dogson grew up
during the Victorian Era. This time period affected the novels greatly. The dominance of the
woman was very important because there was a queen in control. Alice is portrayed as dominant.
Dogson was the eldest son of multiple children. He was forced to learn to entertain himself and
his siblings. This caused him to have a large imagination. It is also most likely the reason he was
only comfortable speaking to children. One of the children he spoke to most often was Alice Liddell

Prepared By: GLENDA B. GAERLAN Presented To: PETER MCGUINNES BUSINESS LAW 1st
Semester 2010 Background Facts: Michael Barnes bought a 500g of caustic soda called

Barnes, separately, had commenced proceedings in the District Court of NSW. Both
proceedings were transferred to the Federal Court and heard with the proceedings issued by the
ACCC. The judgment on this case was delivered on February 27, 1998 six years after Australia
passed a statutory code dealing with defective goods in 1992 sixty years after the verdict on the
Donoghue v Stevenson s case. The ACCC sought orders restraining Glendale from engaging in
conduct contrary to Section 52 which states that a corporation shall not, in trade or commerce,
engage in conduct that is misleading or deceptive or is likely to mislead or deceive. The action
brought by the ACCC against Glendale based on Section 52 and 53(c) of the Act was
unsuccessful. There was insufficient evidence to demonstrate that Barnes did understand the
label to constitute a representation in the form suggested. It was found that Glendale was
negligent and in all circumstances, it was considered there was a duty on Glendale to include in
the packaging a warning as to the consequences of using corrosive product with hot water in a
confined space such as a drain. There was no specific defect with the caustic soda but the issue is
whether it was defective within the meaning of Section 75AC. It was found by the court the label
to be defective within the meaning of section 75AC. It was argued on behalf of Glendale that the
damages should be reduced based on the fact that Barnes

Abstract Automatic recognition of people is a challenging problem which has received much
attention during recent years due to its many applications in different fields. Face recognition is one
of those challenging problems and up to date, there is no technique that provides a robust solution
to all situations. This paper presents a technique for human face recognition. A self organizing
program is used to identify if the subject in the input image is present or not present in the image
database. Face recognition with Eigen values is carried out by classifying Eigen values in both
images. The main advantage of this technique is its high speed processing capability and low
computational requirements, in terms of both speed, accuracy and memory utilization. The goal is
to implement the system for a particular face and distinguish it

Genetic Algorithms And Its Applications Of Cyber Security
Genetic Algorithms and its Applications to Cyber Security Paper By Sameera Chalamalasetty
Guided By Dr. Mario A Garcia
Abstract:
Genetic algorithms (GAs) were initially proposed by John Holland, whose thoughts were connected
and developed by Goldberg. GAs are a heuristic pursuit procedure in view of the standards of the
Darwinian thought of survival of the fittest and characteristic genetics. Holland s work was
basically an endeavor to numerically comprehend the versatile procedures of nature, however the
general accentuation of GA examination from that point forward has been in discovering
applications, numerous in the field of combinatorial enhancement. Genetic algorithms have been
utilized as a part of science and engineering as versatile algorithms for tackling functional issues and
as computational models of common developmental frameworks. In the latest couple of decades,
this procedure with advancement of cutting edge development has accomplished something new.
Introduction:
Li [3] describes genetic algorithm as a family of computational models based on evolution and
natural selection. Bobor [4] has defined a genetic algorithm as a programming technique, which
mimics biological evolution as a problem solving approach.

Black Worm
The Lumbriculus Variegatus, or Black Worm, is a species of worm, which belong to the Annelida
family, meaning their bodies are formed of segments instead of jointed legs (Brinkhurst, Gelder,
1991). The Black worm mainly inhabits the European and North American regions, notably in the
shallow habitats, such as the edges of ponds, marshes, or lakes. Black worms diets consist of
vegetation, and underwater microorganisms like algae (Brinkhurst, Gelder, 1991). Black worms
are normally located in the sandy sediments from deeper parts in the water that they inhabit. Black
worms use their head to search for food, while their tales often project upward. The worm does this

In a typical segment, the ventral nerve cord has four pairs of segmental nerves that extend
laterally and dorsally around the body wall (Stephenson, 1930). Some of the segment s nerve
fibers are sensitive and quickly detect any stimulation to the worms body (Lesiuk, N. M. and C.
D. Drewes, 1999). Other fibers are motor fibers that supply wall muscle cells. The nerve cord
controls the worm s muscles that, in return, cause it to move. Worms use their muscles to crawl
through the mud by getting extra traction from bristles that can be seen from the side of their
body. Worms will rapidly pull back their head or tail if it is touched. Worms that hold their tail up
to the water surface may quickly withdraw it if a shadow suddenly occurs. This is because these
worms have tiny simple eyes (called photoreceptor cells) scattered along their tail segments. In
water, worms can also swim for short distances by making corkscrew movements with their body
(zool.iastate.edu, n.d., n.a.).
The Lumbriculus Variegatus, in recent years had been looked over for classroom and laboratory
use. However, these worms present great promise for researcher and student friendly laboratory
experiments. Black worms have been found to be very helpful and informative in experiments
involved with subjects such as: Physiology, Development,

Kay Redfield Jamison s Bipolar Disorder
Question #2: Bipolar Disorder: Give a phenomenological/subjective (first person account)
description of Kay Redfield Jamison s bipolar disorder as described in her book Unquiet Mind.
In particular, what factors did she view as helpful in her recovery? Bipolar Disorder is mental
illness that includes severe high and low moods with changes in sleep, energy, thinking and
behavior. Bipolar disorder is correlated with increased risk for substance related disorders, weight
problems, and impaired social support systems. Approximately one in every hundred people
develop bipolar disorder. Kay Redfield Jamison reports that her manic depressive illness was a

approached her in a skillful, graceful, and understanding way regarding her necessity to take
lithium and prescribed her the drug on an emergency basis until she saw a psychiatrist. He tested
her blood for lithium levels and encouraged her to take it on a consistent basis. Her colleague also
educated her family about her illness, arranged for her care, and recommended she take time off
from work. Kay s brother assisted her in sorting out her financial situation and paying her debt. He
remained positive and significantly available to her, flying out to see her or arranging her flights
out to him, while remaining non judgmental. Her psychiatrist ended up being the chief resident at
UCLA Neuropsychiatry Institute who was once her supervisor. He approached her treatment with
discipline, determination and dedication. He was adamant about the importance of aggressive
medical treatments using lithium, thorazine, valium, and barbiturates for psychotic patients; he
also had a genuine belief in the importance of psychotherapy and its healing. A combination of
medication, good social support and access to high quality therapeutic services along with Kay s

customers on various platforms and provide an immediate highest level of service. It is advised
BCC to focus in a specific geographical region because location can be a huge influencing factor,
as majority of their customers will be based near or around the business (Dahl, 2014). According
to Google trends, Bristol had the popularity search rate of 96% for the term wedding venues in
the last 12 months (figure 1). (Figure 1: Google trends) BCC s target market should consist of
recently engaged couples around the South West region (Bristol, Bath and Gloucester) who are
aged between 18 35 years old with stable income and planning their wedding or civil partnership.
34% of women regularly browse inspiration on dresses and venues on the web (Gardner, 2014).
Therefore, more specifically, the campaign should be focused primarily toward female audience
as they are more incline to be proactive with the wedding plans (Sniezek, 2005). According to
ONS (2016), 86.4% of women in the UK are internet users. The campaign will be targeted towards

Benefits Of Leather Jackets
Introduction
Is there anything more synonymous with the biker lifestyle than a leather jacket? From James
Dean to Armin Tamzarian, history s most beloved bikers all used leather jackets as a means of
rebelling against the suits and shattering conventions. Today, however, bikers are shying away
from leather jackets, largely due to the expense. Novice bikers are instead purchasing cheaper
textile and mesh models, which while indeed effective, don t offer the same protection or style as a
leather model.
While the vast majority of worthwhile leather motorcycle jackets will set you back at least a
couple of hundred dollars, there are a number of quality models which can be purchased for less.

Handmade
Many motorcycle brands rely on a collection of machines to mass produce their products, which
has been known to drastically decrease the effectiveness and longevity of the completed garments.
The ABz Leathers Vintage Cafe Racer Leather Jacket is handmade, so you can be sure careful
attention was paid to every stitch in order to make it as durable and as reliable as possible.
Multiple Pockets
You can have the most sturdy, padding packed motorcycle jacket in the world, but it doesn t mean a
thing if the jacket doesn t come with pockets in which you can store essential items such as your
wallet and smartphone. Motorcycles don t offer a whole lot of storage room, so if you don t
have pockets on your jacket, you can t really bring anything with you. The Vintage Cafe Racer
Leather Jacket boasts a total of four deep front pockets, giving you plenty of room to store the
items you need to go about your daily

Implementing Job Analysis Components For Recruitment,...
Organizations have recently been investing greater capital and time into human resources seeing as
it impacts companies presently more than it has previously. With the focus on human resources,
companies can gain a competitive advantage by maintaining sustainability, as well as solving
challenges on a global and technological level. Second Dimension International (SDI) Marketing
has recently faced issues affecting their intangible assets that are detrimental to the company s
sustainability. Implementing job analysis components will aid in the resolution of problems
associated with recruitment, training, communication, and retention for SDI. SDI has been in

As long as SDI continues to receive contracts from recognized companies, their economic growth
will continue to rise. However, the continuation of contracts will only be plausible if the issues and
subsequent recommendations presented will be initiated and executed. When a particular market
or industry experiences sudden growth, it is difficult for companies to immediately adapt to the
changes in order to be efficient and effective. With companies spending more of their capital on
providing an experience for their audience, SDI is a company who must adapt to these changes
proficiently. Unfortunately, there are still opportunities for the marketing firm to strengthen and
grow. SDI s intangible assets including human capital pose a threat to the company s sustainability,
as they are vital to a company s competitive advantage. The company s main drawback is their
inability to manage their talent in terms of attracting, retaining, and developing. This not only
increases SDI s recruitment and training costs but it also effects employee morale and engagement.
Globalization is now present now more than ever, as it is the international amalgamation of people,

Day after day, late students are punished or end up in detention due to short passing periods.
Having short passing periods can make a student s grade go down or worse when students are late
to class. This can be prevented by extending passing periods to 10 minutes. Although the staff at
H.P.M.S may disapprove, but in the long run, they will see the effects of having longer passing
periods has on students. Because of the short timeof passing periods, students at Happy Place
Middle School are petitioning to extend their passing periodtime to 10 minutes. In short, some of
the positive effects are that students can get to class on time, and gives students and teachers time
to prepare.

And also, the traffic in the halls often crawls at the SPEED OF MOLASSES. Simply to say, it
can make you very late for class. Students also go to their class missing their books because they
don t have time to go to the locker to get their materials. This makes it worse for students because
they are unable to do work (Abdelmalek).
Furthermore into the topic, the 10 minute passing period lets and/or helps teachers prepare for their
next period. A longer passing period would prevent students from asking to go use the bathroom,
get a drink, or be late, so teacher(s) have the student s full concentration, If your student doesn t
have to interrupt you to use the restroom or get some water, it is going to be a better learning
environment for the rest of the students. Without these interruptions you may continue your lesson
and have student s full concentration, instead of worrying about their personal needs (Medina).
And also in addition to that, teachers will have more time to prepare for their next class
compared to 5 minutes, so teachers can get coffee or take a break during the passing period.
Therefore, passing periods should be extended to 10 minutes since there are upsides and very few
downsides, the upsides: Have more time to get to their classes, students can be spared from the

The Impact of Lipolysis on Different Cheese Varieties
Impact of Lipolysis in Different Cheese Varieties Introduction During the process of ripening,
biochemical processes that take place in the cheese are the most importance factors that
contribute in speedy ripening process. Other than well studied, proteolysis, most important roles
in cheese ripening involves lipolysis, the fat burning process. Ripening is the main process in
which development of the cheese flavor takes place. During the process of ripening a large
number of sapid compounds are produced which if present in the correct ratios and
concentrations lead to the best flavor development. Three processes are known that contribute in
the production of these compounds, lipolysis, proteolysis and glycolysis. The flavor
development in cheese depends upon the degree in which these three processes functions that
play key roles in distinct differences between cheese varieties. Extent of Lipolysis in Cheese The
studies have shown that the extent of lipolysis is different and varied in different kinds of
cheese. Dutch type cheese has lesser extent of lipolysis to extensive lipolysis as seen in much
harder, ripened Italian cheese. In the case of Emmental cheese, it is seen that only 1 2% of the
lipids are hydrolyzed, and the highest being in Blue cheese (Kilcawley, and Beresford, 2004, p.
34). Lipolytic Enzymes Involved It has been highlighted that cheese with lesser amount of fatty
acids is considered unripened and not mature as compared to the cheese having higher

Us Economy And Trump s Plan For It
US Economy and Trump s Plan for it The US economy, as anybody would expect, has gone
through its ups and downs. Some believe that our new president has a brilliant plan to create a
phenomenal economy for our country. Others believe that his economic policy will take our
country to the worst state it has ever been. Throughout our history, various styles of economic policy
have been commonly believed. In the early 1900 s most economists believed in classical economics,
this is the idea that the economy will work better when the government is more hands off. This can
be thought of as the purest form of capitalism that has been attempted. In the late 1940 s, most US

This unfortunately made him one of the least popular presidents. His successor, Franklin
Roosevelt, had an opposing view and believed Government intervention could do a lot to help
the people. Roosevelt enacted various government programs in order to create jobs and assist
those who needed it most. One of Roosevelt s biggest program, the CCC or Civilian
Conservation Corps, employed young men to work on public works projects such as parks and
structural improvements. The CCC spent money and served multiple purposes. It could allow
previously unemployed people to have money to spend at businesses that desperately needed it,
and it also improved the quality of the country in general, which improves the value of the
country as a whole over time. This program, as well as several others, can be considered an
investment in America s people, which could pay off over time. Roosevelt s programs did a lot
to fix the economy, but in the end it was the second world war that really helped the economy.
This could cause many to question how such policies could really help a hurting economy. Overall,
however, programs such as these have shown promise in being beneficial to stimulate an economy
when the are needed. Trump s plan for tax reform, at its simplest, is to cut taxes for most people,

LITERATURE EVALUATION
Statistical data analysis is the foundation of every research; it is the first step in and a research
and is the part that helps researcher developed results. Statistical data analysis plays a crucial role
in the field of nursing. For this research paper, the focus is on the nonparametric test, T test, and
correlation. So, before I proceed, let me provide the definition of these test. Nonparametric tests
are sometimes called distribution free tests because they are based on fewer assumptions (e.g., they
do not assume that the outcome is approximately normally distributed) . (, Boston University
School of Public Health 2016, p. 1). The t test is a parametric statistical test for comparison of the
means of two independent groups. (Kellar Kelvin, 2013, p. 464). According to the University of the
West of England (UWE), Correlation is a technique for investigating the relationship between two
quantitative, continuous variables, for example, age and blood pressure. (UWE, 2016)
The first study that is discussed incorporates the nonparametric test. This study was conducted in
the country of India and discusses the attitudes of nursing students toward psychiatry across
successive training years. Often when nursing specialties are discussed psychiatry is one of the
specialties that is not widely recognized. Psychiatry is an area of nursing that is always looked down

  • 3. Intercultural Identity An individual s culture, upbringing, privileges, orientation etc. all affect how one views the world. In order to confront difficult issues, such as social justice, one must realize how their positionality effects their epistemologies. Takacs (2002) states that when we develop the skill of understanding how we know what we know, we acquire a key to lifelong learning (p. 28). Being able to discern why we view the world in a certain way leads to truths about one s own identity, such as their privileges in society. However, these identities are not always apparent. Tatum (2000) states that it is our targeted identities that hold our attention, while the dominant identities go unexamined (p. 7). In order to develop a holistic sense of self, we must examine all parts of our being. As my interviewer remarked: you have to know who you are, and how you show up in pieces, and the impact that may give to others, because that definitely contributes (A. Rubango, personal communication, September 13, 2017). Every person has their own multitude of identities. My interviewer s own identity contains numerous components as a female, an immigrant from the Congo, and having a middle class SES. Through her many target and dominant identities, she has acknowledged how these pieces have given her a unique viewpoint on the world, and how they have affected her view on issues, such as those pertaining to social justice. Exploring one s identity is crucial, but it is vital on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Essay on The Rime of the Ancient Mariner In an article on sin, Samuel Taylor Coleridge defines sin as an evil which has its ground or origin in the agent, and not in the compulsion of circumstances. (65). Coleridge s definition of sin excludes any outside cause of sin, besides the agent himself. Coleridge s poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner is a poem of sin, but it is also a poem that questions etiology. John Livingston Lowes writes The relentless line of cause and consequence runs likewise, unswerving as the voyage, through the poem (68). Cause and consequence in the poem, however, should not be taken at face value. Certainly the violent act of the Mariner has consequences, but Coleridge also brings a logical fallacy into light: Post hoc ergo propter hoc, or after this,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because it is unprovoked, it fits Coleridge s definition of sin: A sin is an evil which has its ground or origin in the agent, and not in the compulsion of circumstances ( On Original Sin 65). The mariner s assault had no foundation or rhyme or reason. In fact, the assault is a rejection of an extension of hospitality from nature. True hospitality requires a suppression of selfish desire. Although the bird s presence was hospitable, it was out of the mariner s control, threatening his self. The rising up of self, striving to assert its power, inhibits fellowship. D.W. Harding asserts that The Mariner s sin...was that in killing the albatross, he rejected a social offering...The Mariner wantonly obliterated something which loved him and which represented in a supernatural way the possibility of affection in the world (78). The Mariner s rejection of the albatross s extension of hospitality or of fellowship to the Mariner is self assertion, but it also paves the way for a self caused isolation. Harding goes on to claim that the Mariner s rejection of the albatross s affection was the most terrible possibility among the sins (78). The one stanza describing the Mariner s violence against nature sets the stage for the entirety of the poem. It is hard to avoid religious associations with the murder of the albatross. The albatross is described as a pious bird (Coleridge 432). As if it had been a Christian soul, the seamen on the Mariner s ship hail ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Development Of The Pair Bond In our culture the relationship most often discussed when describing human interaction and that which is considered the most ideal or normal relationship (demonstrated by cultural morality and various forms of media) is that of the male female couple. This pair bonding is a phenomenon that exists to some degree in the natural world, but occurs most prominently in humans. The development of the pair bond is one of the single most important aspects of humanevolution, culture, and relationships as we understand them today. This behavior has driven human sociality, reproduction, and cultural development through evolutionary, physiological, and psychological means. By understanding and assessing the history and evolution of pair bonding, the means by which our cultural foundations were established can be discovered. To determine how the pair bond has been established, one must look at the various evolutionary pressures that lead to this type of behavior. As Herbert (2005) explains, the reproductive strategies of organisms are often defined by biologists as r or K strategies. The former tend to be smaller and live in unstable environments with their reproductive strategy being to produce as many offspring as possible (potentially only once in their lifetime), many of them dying before reaching the reproductive age of their already short life expectancy. The offspring with the highest fitness are the ones that survive to this reproductive stage. In contrast, K strategists ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As American citizens, we must protect our flag from any harm. I love my flag, and the country that it represents, but I know as much as anyone that America isn t perfect. That is why if I believe that something is wrong or needs to be changed in our country, then I can speak up, I can protest, I can make my elected officials hear my voice and listen to what I have to say. It is my constitutional right and a blessing to do so; but using the flag as a torch is a form of protest that should be illegal, and that I will not tolerate. It is our duty as American citizens to protect the flag and remind everyone of the freedoms and liberties that it represents. The American Flag is a symbol of hope and freedom in our country. As the result of using the manual kanban system for many years, the staffs and employees will feel difficult and need quite a long time to adapt to the new system and all these will reduce the efficiency at the beginning. Also the links between the warehouses and facilities also need to be adjusted and the adjusting time can be depend on how the project being performed for replacing the manual kanban process. The supply chain management will require some changes and to make all these smooth can t be done in a short time, and some problems will occur at the starting phase. In addition, Daimler AG is the first automotive manufacture that is trying to combine the kanban with RFID technology with the help of SAP. Because of lacking of experience the risks for the project is increasing and nobody can ensure that this will be a success. If the project fails, the whole manufacturing system will be affected and the profitability will decrease based on that situation. • 15. Brief Summary And Theoretical Molar Heat Of Combustion Graph 1 Description: This graph is identical to experiment 1 graph 1 as it compares the experimental and theoretical molar heats of combustion. Being the same concept this graph shows how the experimental molar heat of combustion is a scale less than the theoretical molar heat of combustion. The significance behind the scale of this graph where the experimental is lower that the theoretical, is how there is a pattern for which every fuel follows the same trend. Also it shows the average heats of combustion and which alkane has the leading heat output rate. Graph 2 Description: This graph is identical to experiment 1 graph 2 as it shows a pattern between the scales of carbon atoms. The higher amount of carbon in a longer chain results in a higher molar heat of combustion. This supports the theory behind bond energy as more bonds break, more bonds form which add up to making a higher molar heat of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fact that the change in temperature was so low can be experimental side effects. The Syrian Civil War that displaced millions of refugees officially began on March 15th, 2011 when protesters stormed the capital of Damascus demanding democratic reforms and the release of political prisoners from the Assad regime. (Kareem Fahim) Unfortunately, these campaigns were met with gunfire, as only a month later the Syrian army engaged in a series of military attacks on its own people leading to the death of over 1,000 civilians. The Civil War that led to the accumulation of refugees started for a series of complicated reasons. For one thing, Shia Sunni conflicts persisting to this day have caused great tensions between communities. The Alawite (Shia) dominated Al Assad government has oppressed Sunni Muslims (the majority of Muslims) with armed forces for more than 50 years, which enormously intensified the situation in Syria. For another, the poor economic conditions in Syria also contributed a great deal to this war. Although President Al Assad had carried out a series of reforms in 2000, people in Syria suffered from high unemployment rate (14.9%) and low average income (below US $49). He uses an example of a person crossing a dangerous bridge as support to his argument. Recommendation A: My first is that you increase your base coverage by $10,000; this will cover you for the full value of your home as you currently are covered for only 96% of its value. Increasing your homeowner s coverage is also quite cheap; the additional cost is only $35 per year. Disadvantages: The additional homeowner s coverage is cheap, but modest in its advantages. The $35 you are spending on these could easily go elsewhere. Recommendation B: My second recommendation is you take an inventory of your personal property. • 31. Fossil Fuels And Renewable Energy Essay Finding energy sources is an issue that polarizes scientists, politicians and citizens alike. The most critical points of this debate are at fossil fuels and renewable energy. Energy efficiency is arguably the most dire concern facing the planet, because it significantly impacts all areas of everyday life. Common ground can be found in this controversy because both parties do agree that humans have a responsibility to future generations. That responsibility is to preserve the resources of the Earth, while offering this generation energy that is affordable and accessible. Many people contend that fossil fuels, while being the most cost effective source of energy, have detrimental effects on the environment. Others argue that fossil fuels have little negative environmental impact and that producing alternative energy is too economically prohibitive to be feasible. In 2010, the Gallup Poll conducted a national poll that found half of the Americans surveyed favored expanding energy production via fossil fuels even if it harms the environment. This was the case in nearly every major demographic subgroup, although self identified liberals remained constant in supporting environmental protection as the higher priority (McDermott). When eating an M M they take less time to chew and aren t a chewy/gummy substance like the Skittle. Each candy has the same rounded shape with the hard shell. But what sets them apart is their flavor. An interesting bit of Skittles candy trivia is the fact that it takes around eight hours to put the candy coating on the outside of the fruit center (Milton). A number of studies do, in fact, find that young people do seek justification before engaging in delinquent behavior (Siegel and Welsh, 2015). But Ronald Akers (1997) asserts that adherence to neutralizing attitudes has been found to be moderately related to delinquent and criminal behavior. Akers suggests that while there is support for the theory it may be because neutralization attitudes dispose individuals to violating the law instead of offering rationalizations for committing delinquent acts. GAs are a heuristic pursuit procedure in view of the standards of the Darwinian thought of survival of the fittest and characteristic genetics. Holland s work was basically an endeavor to numerically comprehend the versatile procedures of nature, however the general accentuation of GA examination from that point forward has been in discovering applications, numerous in the field of combinatorial enhancement. Genetic algorithms have been utilized as a part of science and engineering as versatile algorithms for tackling functional issues and as computational models of common developmental frameworks. In the latest couple of decades, this procedure with advancement of cutting edge development has accomplished something new. Introduction: Li [3] describes genetic algorithm as a family of computational models based on evolution and natural selection. In a typical segment, the ventral nerve cord has four pairs of segmental nerves that extend laterally and dorsally around the body wall (Stephenson, 1930). Some of the segment s nerve fibers are sensitive and quickly detect any stimulation to the worms body (Lesiuk, N. M. and C. D. Drewes, 1999). Other fibers are motor fibers that supply wall muscle cells. The nerve cord controls the worm s muscles that, in return, cause it to move. Worms use their muscles to crawl through the mud by getting extra traction from bristles that can be seen from the side of their body. Worms will rapidly pull back their head or tail if it is touched. Worms that hold their tail up to the water surface may quickly withdraw it if a shadow suddenly occurs. This is because these worms have tiny simple eyes (called photoreceptor cells) scattered along their tail segments. The Impact of Lipolysis on Different Cheese Varieties Impact of Lipolysis in Different Cheese Varieties Introduction During the process of ripening, biochemical processes that take place in the cheese are the most importance factors that contribute in speedy ripening process. Other than well studied, proteolysis, most important roles in cheese ripening involves lipolysis, the fat burning process. Ripening is the main process in which development of the cheese flavor takes place. During the process of ripening a large number of sapid compounds are produced which if present in the correct ratios and concentrations lead to the best flavor development. Three processes are known that contribute in the production of these compounds, lipolysis, proteolysis and glycolysis. The flavor development in cheese depends upon the degree in which these three processes functions that play key roles in distinct differences between cheese varieties. Extent of Lipolysis in Cheese The studies have shown that the extent of lipolysis is different and varied in different kinds of cheese.
