Disabilities Rights Movement Research Paper
After watching, videos, going over the material, and doing some research about the disabilities rights
movement I found it sad that people have fought so long and hard to get the rights there are now for
people with disabilities, the rights that should be unspoken and come naturally, not have to be fought
for. The opening of the American School for the Deaf happened in 1817 in Hartford Connecticut. This
was an important event. This was the first School for children with disabilities in the western part of
the world. I believe this opened the door for the possibility of more children with disabilities to go to
school. This school started to help some people see that these children could learn and succeed with
the right help and support. Maybe people of this decade were afraid of peoples differences therefore
didn t want to acknowledge they may be able to learn and be a contributing person to society. The
American school helped change these attitudes I believe Things have really changed since then. There
are now inclusion programs which children with disabilities learn and interact with their typical
developing peers. I think people have come a long way with fearing the differences in other ... Show

The federal government made a big increase in their financial support to states due to these
amendments. Today it is different, the Americans with Disabilities act protects people with these types
of disabilities so they will not be discriminated against when looking for jobs. I think these types of
disabilities are hard to find support for let alone finding a job. I was happy to see that there are laws
put in place stopping this

The Author s Development As A Story Teller In The Danger...
Discuss the author s development as a story teller in The Danger of a Single Story . The speech the
danger of single story by Chimamanda Adichie shares few personal stories that related to stereotype.
Generally speaking, the author developed as a storyteller through her literary experience in childhood

childhood. The author [begin] to write, at about the age of seven (page 1 ). Therefore, the author

Writing Is The First Nonmilitary Course I Have Taken
Writing 101 is the first nonmilitary course I have taken in the last 10 years. The reason I elected to
take writing 101 was twofold. There is the obvious reason which is of course, that I need to complete
this class to move forward with my educational goals in getting my bachelor s degree. The second
reason is that I have always had a great interest in writing both from view point of the writer and that
of the reader. I have spent the last 17 years reading and writing many different products for the Navy
from instructions to messages, each having their own unique format and purpose. The military style of
writing is very different from how we write in the civilian world; each one has their place but I find
that writing nonmilitary works are more enjoyable, yes even the academic papers. When I first started
the WRTG 101 class my writing and sentence structure skills were rusty to say the least. Now at the
end of the writing 101 class I can say that my writing and sentence skill levels have improved but by
no measure the best they can be.
Using an unfamiliar format and tools was an interesting obstacle to overcome to say the least but not
the end point of what I learned in this course. The Communications Fitness or COMFIT website was a
great tool I liked that it took you many different directions to help you understand a topic. The two
topics I can say that COMFIT really helped with were commas and colons and semicolons. The
examples and tests helped me better understand

Q.1 Explain the different types of communication with relevant examples.
Answer:
Communication is a process that involves exchange of information, thoughts, ideas and emotions.
Communication is a process that involves a sender who encodes and sends the message, which is then
carried via the communication channel to the receiver where the receiver decodes the message,
processes the information and sends an appropriate reply via the same communication channel.
Types of Communication

Hence formal communication is straightforward, official and always precise and has a stringent and
rigid tone to it.
Informal Communication
Informal communication includes instances of free unrestrained communication between people who
share a casual rapport with each other. Informal communication requires two people to have a similar
wavelength and hence occurs between friends and family. Informal communication does not have any
rigid rules and guidelines. Informal conversations need not necessarily have boundaries of time, place
or even subjects for that matter since we all know that friendly chats with our loved ones can simply
go on and on.
Q.2 what are the general principles of writing especially business writing?
Answer:
Business writing is different Writing for a business audience is usually quite different than writing in
the humanities, social sciences, or other academic disciplines. Business writing strives to be crisp and
succinct rather than evocative or creative; it stresses specificity and accuracy. This distinction does not
make business writing superior or inferior to other styles. Rather, it reflects the unique purpose and
considerations involved when writing in a business context. When you write a business document, you
must assume that your audience has limited time in which to read it and is likely to skim. Your readers
have an interest in what you say insofar as it affects their working world. They want to know the

Essay On Health Inequalities
Over the most recent years there have been health advocates who have been paying serious attention
to the health disparities and the association between health, wealth and inequality. In the United States
(US), health inequalities can be viewed as a very important issue amongst it s populations. There have
also been ongoing debates, researches and documentaries highlighting such comparisons and links
between these disparities. Many consumers of the healthcare system have experienced the inequalities
with the provision of quality health care. After viewing the video series Unnatural Causes: Is
inequality making us sick? which was produced by Larry Adelman (2008), brings more awareness on
the divide which exist among the people who have wealth to those who have low socioeconomic
status and are living in poverty. There are several wealthy people who use their power through
politics, wealth and other means to provide care to it s citizens less than what they themselves receive.
Immigrants also experience the wrath of such practices based on their status in society. There has been
extensive research which have shown the influence that social determinants have on the health ...

It can also be said that health inequalities can occur as a product of unnecessary differences between
people that affect powerful groups in our society. In an article by Steven P. Wallace (2014) he notes,
Efforts to promote health are not adopted evenly across populations, and groups at the highest risk
often are the last to benefit from the societal changes and new technologies (p. 7). As a practicing
nurse, I have also witnessed such practices of inequality and disparities in the healthcare system. I am
of the belief that there needs to be stronger advocacy for the individuals who experience such

The Uc Davis Student Health And Counseling Services
Most often than not health is used synonymously with wellness. It can be assumed that when a person
is healthy then they are well. Thus, wellness and healthy can be used interchangeably. The UC Davis
Student health and counseling services explains that wellness has eight dimensions: occupational,
emotional, spiritual, environmental, financial, physical, social, and intellectual. Each dimension of
wellness is interrelated with another and they are all equally vital in the pursuit of optimum health .
Health s the body s ability to adapt to a variety of stresses or challenges maintaining a state of
equilibrium that is physical, mental, and emotional. Based on the following information it can be
easily reasoned that health should be considered a basic human right. Difficulty accessing healthy
food based off of geographic location, denied access to healthcare treatments based off of individuals
economic capacity, and denied access to health care based off of where a person is born should not
happen. Health does not consist of one concept but rather a combination of comprehensive subjects
that form the cycle of everyday life.
Health education provides its population with the necessary knowledge and tools to help increase
overall health, shape attitudes, and ultimately hopes to change behavior (WHO, n.d.). Health
education is advocating, promoting, teaching, and setting an example of well being for all human
beings regardless of ethnicity, social economic status, race, and

INTRODUCTIONImagine you are a thirty four year old female patient. You arrived at the hospital
after falling down a flight of stairs with an exceedingly high blood pressure (165/109), a high blood
glucose level (450), abdominal pain, and are disoriented. These are symptoms of diabetic ketoacidosis,
a complication of uncontrolled diabetes. You are from Guatemala and have no family members in the
United States. There are doctors and nurses surrounding you. They keep asking you questions. You
don t understand what they are saying but you know they are trying to help. You don t know why you

ultimate authority of the knowledge. The banking concept of education is the teaching process I have
witnessed how healthcare providers teach their patient. The physician or nurse is just telling the
patient information and expecting the patient to just understand. I have been told by professors and
clinical instructors that the patient is the expert of their own health. They know what works for them
and what does not. I have learned that patients may not understand the complexities of the anatomy
and physiology of the body, but they can understand some things of their care. Healthcare providers
should switch the Problem solving model where there is a conversation rather than a lecture. Some
patients do not realize that they have the power to decide what is best for them. They do have the right

Panera Bread Strategy Essay
Running head: PANERA BREAD CASE
Title: Panera Bread Strategy
Ron Johnson
March 1, 2009
Southwestern College Professional Studies Abstract
This case study is about Panera Bread Company and its strategy it wishes to employ to become the
best brand name of fresh bread in the United States. Panera Bread s use of a broad differentiation
strategy has helped their profitability and growth and rivals have found it hard to compete with the
competitiveness of Panera Bread. A SWOT analysis will reveal the competitive advantage Panera
Bread has and why this company is in an attractive situation and what Panera Bread must do to
strengthen its competitive advantage against rival chains.

In this case Panera Bread has set itself apart from its rivals by offering specialty type foods that are
outside the norm. The bakery menu offers pastries and sweets, granola parfait, baked egg soufflés,
breakfast sandwiches and of course, freshly baked breads to include bagels. They also have a café
menu that offers hand tossed salads, sandwiches, drinks, and soups. To top things off, they even offer a
kids menu, so Panera Bread caters to the entire family. Panera Bread Company went as far as starting
a catering program to extend its market reach (Thompson, Strickland, Gamble, 2008, pC 92).
Everyone enjoys choices, especially when they re fresh, fun and spontaneous. Right now at Panera
Bread, there are plenty of tempting selections to captivate, tantalize and energize your bread lover s
soul as we celebrate the delicious rewards of the baker s craft (Panera Bread, 2009). What competitive
edge does Panera Bread have if any? Panera is attempting to achieve a longer lasting, more profitable
competitive advantage by their capability to offer unique or specialty type items. Also, their
commitment to put there all into everything they offer their customers. For example, Panera offers 4
different flavors of coffee, dark and light roast, hazelnut, and decaf. What is important is the work they
put into making the coffee. We believe that coffee is sacred. And that making it requires the utmost
attention from the bean to the cup. So we roast our coffee beans in

The For Good Quality Cement
The clinker coming out of the kiln is at temperatures of around 1400oC. For good quality cement, this
temperature has to be brought down to around 200oC in a limited period of time. Thus it is brought in
contact with a cross circulation heat exchanging cooler.
The heat of the incoming clinker is recuperated in the secondary air at an efficiency which usually lies
within 65% to 70
The clinker cooler has the following main functions:
1. Recuperate the clinker heat by heating up the combustion air (secondary and tertiary air)
2. Maintain a minimum cooling velocity in order to avoid unfavorable mineralogical clinker phases
and crystal size
3. Facilitate clinker handling and storage.
Three groups of coolers can be defined according to their working principle:
A. On a grate cooler the clinker forms a bed which is transported along the grate by different
mechanisms. The cooling air is blown from below the grate by fans and passes through the clinker bed
in cross current. Only a Dart of this air can be used as combustion air, the rest of it has to be dedusted
and wasted, unless it can be used for another purpose (e.g. raw material or coal drying, fuel oil
preheating, heating of buildings, warm water preparation, etc.).
B. The operating principle of a tube cooler is quite similar to the one of a rotary kiln: the material and
the cooling air are led in counter current through one or more slightly inclined rotating tubes. Special
lifters are installed which increase the active heat

Breaking and entering is defined as trespassing with intent to commit an indictable offence. The crime
is commonly referred to in Canada as break and enter which in turn is often shortened to B and E.[12]
[13]
[edit]Finland
There is no crime of burglary as such in Finland. In the case of breaking and entering, the Finnish
penal code states that
A person who unlawfully
(1) enters domestic premises by force, stealth or deception, or hides or stays in such premises [...] shall
be sentenced for invasion of domestic premises to a fine or to imprisonment for at most six months.
[14]
However, if theft is committed during unlawful entering, then a person is guilty of theft or aggravated
theft depending on the circumstances of the felony.
Aggravated theft: (1) If in the theft
(5) the offender breaks into an occupied residence, and the theft is aggravated also when assessed as a
whole, the offender shall be sentenced for aggravated theft to imprisonment for at least four months
and at most four years.[14]
[edit]Sweden
In Sweden, burglary does not exist as an offence in itself; instead, there are two available offences. If a
person simply breaks into any premise, they are technically guilty of either unlawful intrusion or
breach of domiciliary peace (olaga intrång or hemfridsbrott, respectively), depending on the premise
in question. Breach of domiciliary peace is only applicable when

The three purchasing strategies are summarized as below.
Exploit Make the most of your high buying power to secure good prices and long term contracts from
a number of suppliers, so that you can reduce the supply risk involved in these important items. You

Negative Thoughts And Shame Addiction
Negative Thoughts and Shame Addiction
Posted on July 20 by johnmerideth
Addiction
When we think about addiction, it seems we mostly talk about substances or activities and rarely about
the deeply set emotions that come with being an addict. Recently I watched the HBO special
Addiction, and was struck by its limited scope in relating dependence or addiction to thoughts. As I
watched the segments, I wondered if they had considered the number of ordinary people struggling
with the less obvious but equally debilitating addiction to shame. Shame drives tapes within the mind
of each person in slightly different ways but the outcome for most of us is the same...unfulfilling
choices.
In the HBO special they did cover how brain imaging research, MRI, illustrates the way in which the
animal brain, the limbic part of our neural anatomy, overrides the decision making prefrontal lobe. It
can be a smell or place or the intensity of a conversation...whatever the cause...once the
addiction/dependence circuit is triggered there is little time for the do you really want to do that
thought to emerge and take hold before the flight or fight response kicks into overdrive. What started
as a survival mechanism, over time, becomes a sure fire method for self abuse and dis ease.
For most of us there is a mental leap to be made between negative thinking induced by shame and
addiction or dependence. We have trouble with the addicted label, at least in part, due to the stigma
attached to the words

Cultural Differences And Cultural Beliefs Of The Conflict...
In this essay, I will discuss why the conflict between Europeans and Native Americans was inevitable
based on cultural differences and interactions with one another. I will explain why greed played a
major role in the conflict between both groups, based on the information provided by two authors with
differing opinions. The first author, believed that conflict was inevitable. The author Kevin in his
article, Peaceable Kingdom Lost: The Paxton Boys and the Destruction of Williams Penn s Holy
Experiment , describes the conflicts between a group of racists men known as the Paxton Boys, and
the beliefs of a Peaceable Kingdom lead by William Penn. In his essay, Kevin speaks about how
William Penn respected the Indians; however, the Paxton Boys did not. Kevin points out on: Page 179

of them hated Indians ... Page 179 Kevin describes the respect that William Penn had Indians, and how
he protected their interest as well as his own by decreeing the settlers acquire land only through his
government... . Page 181 ...violent seizure of Indian land became the norm. In the three statements
above, Kevin describes nothing but hatred for the Indians. He talked about the massacres that occurred
at the hands of the Paxton Boys. Moreover, Kevin s description of the Paxton Boys led me to believe

Historical Context In Lord Of The Flies
Historical Context is Vital to Understand a Memoir Reading an excellent memoir is stepping into the
author s past; the strokes of descriptive writing throughout the story paint a picture in the reader s
mind, allowing one to escape from their own reality into another s. William Golding s Lord of the
Flies and Elie Wiesel s Night each have a historical background; however, the importance of each
varies depending on the type of literary work. Lord of the Flies tells a story of a large group of
schoolboys that landed on an island after their plane crashed. These kids begin their adventure by
electing a leader named Ralph, and initially they act civil, organized, and ready to survive. As the
novel progresses, a rebellious older boy named Jack begins to act out, trying to replace Ralph with
himself as leader. Eventually, the wild, rambunctious nature of these boys wreaks havoc on the ability
of the group to survive together, and three boys tragically died before a Navy ship comes to their
rescue. The historical context of this book is short; there is a World War happening, and the boys plane
was shot down by an enemy pilot. This was the entire reason they were stranded on an island in the
first place. Night by Elie Wiesel is an autobiography and memoir explaining Eliezer s experiences as
an Orthodox Jew in Sighet, a Transylvanian town in Hungary, during World War II. Wiesel goes
through each event that led to the tragic deaths of his mother, sisters, and eventually even his

The Pros And Cons Of Hazing In Sports
Humiliated, scared, and pressured. Being hazed in front of a group of people, in public, or in private
can be a mixture of these emotions. Hazing is a form humiliation and sometimes these activities can
endanger students. It should not be allowed in schools or other workplaces, especially if it involves
excessive drinking and violence. These things happen to people in sports, bands, military, and in a
workplace.
First, people may say hazing is okay because it strengthens a person mentally. It teaches boys to be
men or girls to be women. Donna Phillips, whose son experienced severe hazing at the Citadel in
Charleston, SC, said There s no need for hazing. It destroys people (Preventing). It is fine that a
person may feel like that because they may have experienced it, but it was not as severe as the people
in other cases. Others may kids will be kids, so someone is going to get hurt. But it should not get to
that point.
In continuation, hazing can happen to athletics. In 1999, 224 NCAA schools with 2,027 athletes were
surveyed (Study). Football was at the top of the list, but swimming and lacrosse were not so far
behind. Two thirds of these athletes were forced to do embarrassing things. The study was then
expanded to a national survey. More than 250,000 college athletes experienced some sort of hazing.

Ficer Corps And The Noncommissioned Officer
Abstract The officer corps and the noncommissioned officer corps in the Army go all the back to
before the founding fathers formed the country. Both of these corps have adapted and changed
according to wars and conflicts the nation has participated. The success of the Army is dependent on
the ability of officers and noncommissioned officers to work together. Training, education and
mentorship lead to officers and noncommissioned officer serving as the cornerstone of the Army.
Establishing roles and responsibilities It is important to understand the roles that officers and non
commissioned officers hold in the Army. Without this understanding, officers and non commissioned
officers become stranded and confused. The Army has continuously updated regulations, field
manuals, and other doctrine to keep up with the ever changing operational environment the Army
operates in. Army Doctrine Publication (ADP) 6 22 and Army Doctrine Reference Publication
(ADRP) 6 22 clearly establish the roles of the officer and the non commissioned officer. Additional
Army doctrine provides for other miscellaneous tasks or responsibilities that officers and non
commissioned officers either share or work together to accomplish. A simple example is Training
Circular (TC) 3 21, Drill and Ceremony. The non commissioned officer has the bulk of the
responsibility to conduct but the officer does have a role as the commander of troops. Although Drill
and Ceremony not does specifically address a

Vibrio Fischeri Is A Bacterium That Served As The Model...
Vibrio fischeri is a Gram negative bacterium that served as the model organism in this experiment. We
isolated only the luxAB portion of the entire lux operon and inserted it into the pGEM vector plasmid
to transcribe the luciferase enzyme required for bioluminescence. Within the lux operon, luxAB is
responsible for producing subunits that form luciferase, which oxidizes the aldehyde made by luxCDE
into the reduced flavin mononucleotide FMNH2 and results in the production of light known as
bioluminescence[6]. The luxI gene that is also present on the operon produces the autoinducer which
interacts with a regulator, LuxR, [and] activates transcription of the lux operon at high cell density to
induce bioluminescence[4]. This interaction between the products of luxI and luxR is known as
quorum sensing and serves as an evolutionary purpose in the symbiotic relationship with Euprymna
scolopes, a type of squid that contains the light organ where the bacteria resides[6].
In the first portion of the experiment, Vibrio fischeri chromosomal DNA was isolated by lysing the
bacterial membranes and removing the proteins and lipids. Addition of a lysozyme solution breaks
down the peptidoglycan layer in Gram negative bacteria and proteinase K/SDS degrades the proteins
and disrupt the membranes. Liquid liquid extraction using Tris buffered phenol permits separation of
proteins and lipids from the DNA into the organic layer. It is also essential that the isolated DNA is
pure and free of

Descriptive Essay About My Place In High School
Have you ever been in a place that at first glance does not seem like anything special, yet the more
time you spend in that place the more enjoyable it becomes? As you are going into high school you
will be taking several FACS classes. The more you know about the FACS room the better prepared
you will be for those classes. The FACS classroom at Holcomb High School is a delightful place to be.
There are three different sections that make up the FACS classroom. Starting first with the classroom
its self, where all the desks are, and where you do your textbook assignments. The second part of the
classroom is the adjoining room that is made up of the kitchens that you learn to cook in. The last part
is the small picnic area outside. As you first walk through the door into the classroom, you will notice
how large the classroom is. As you scan the room for the first time you will see that the room has lots
of pops of colors from pictures and posters on the walls. You will see the roughly twenty five cheap
plastic desk and chairs. The walls are tan painted cinder blocks, the paint gives the walls a smooth yet
sort of bumpy texture. As you look up to the ceiling you will see ceiling tiles, that over the years have
faded and been scuffed up. Looking down at the floor you will see that the floor is covered in well
abused glued down laminate tiles. The tiles stared as an off white and have slowly yellowed. Cabinets

During the Civil War. The North had lots of advantages during the Civil War. One of the advantages
that the north had during the Civil War was that the North had a superior leader, and his name was
Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln was an important part of the Civil War, and a big part of the
North s advantages. He helped the North stay together during the Civil War and keep them together
from falling apart. The North also made blockades to prevent the South from getting exports from
Europe, and the North was trying to stop the Confederates from getting their manufacturing goods.
The North would also take control of the Mississippi river so that the South s troops would get cut off.

The South had plenty of advantages to overcome the North during the war. One advantage that they
had was that they had outstanding military officers. Most of these officers had experience from the

South also had strong motivation during the war, these people were fighting to keep way of life. When
they would fight they would fight for their rights and for the way they live life as a southerner.
Another major advantage that the South had home turf while fighting during the Civil War. The South

Between Shades Of Grey Essay
Between Shades of Gray
1. Under the rule of Stalin, people were sent to be housed at the Gulag camps, by then they were using
them as a slave labor. These camps housed a wide range of convicts from minor criminals to political
prisoners. The Soviet Union s main offences were robbers, rapists, murders, and thieves, so instead of
spending their sentences in prison they got taken to the Gulag.
Yes, after reading both the book and the Soviet Union Gulag system research that I did on they were
similar. Therefore, the book is accurate.
2. The author, Ruta Sepetys s research for this novel, Between Shades of Gray, is accurate and
relevant. This is because this novel is based on a real story and Ruta Sepetys told this story based off
of real survivors from Soviet Union Gulag to create this whole novel.
3. Lina, Jonas, and Andrius all never give up hope on trying to get out of the camps and also not
giving up hope on finding their fathers. They all love their families very much and would do anything
to stay with them and save them from getting hurt. The thing that they all have in common is that they
are going through the same life or death situation. They all also have the same situation with their
fathers and not being able to locate them.

Evaluate and Examine the Four Qualitative Characteristics...
One of the most significant purposes of General Purpose Financial Reports is providing useful and
valuable accounting information, which is an important basis to making appropriate decisions for
information users. The quality of accounting information is directly related to information users in
decision making and its consequences. Hence, the four qualitative characteristics, namely
Understandability, Relevance, Reliability and Comparability are set out in the conceptual framework
to ensure that information users can make the right decisions. This essay will definitely and

Finally, comparability requires the accounting information should be compared with each other. There
are two important aspects to illustrate it. On the one hand, compare aspects of an entity at one time
and over time. The entity is asked to adopt the same accounting policy unless some special situation.
The comparability quality characteristic can help financial report users comprehend the financial
condition, opening result and the trend of cash flow easily, and then compare the information during
different period. On the other hand, compare with different entities in the same accounting period. In
order to help analyzing financial condition and other alteration circumstances of different business
easily, the comparability principle require different business adopt the same accounting principle
about the same or similar transactions in the same accounting period. Today, comparability is
becoming one of the most indispensable and advantageous qualitative characteristics of accounting
information (Putra, 2009). Although the four qualitative characteristics are the most important link
between the accounting objectives and achieving the objectives, there are also some elements restrict
them. To begin with, accounting information has dubious quality itself, which affects the
understandability.

Samoan Creation Myths
While creation myths around the world might be distinct, being representative of a diverse set of given
culture and its beliefs of the role of humans in time and space, many creation myths share common
themes and motifs. Creation myths are always built on one of these five universal foundations:
creation from nothing, creation from chaos, creation from world parents, earth diver creation, and
emergence creation through a hole in the earth. In the Norse creation myth, Odin and his two other
brothers killed Ymir after being persuaded by the threat of a growing Jotun population. Odin, Vili, and

the cosmos and the earth. This dismemberment of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Samoan creation myth, the decay of the vines that god Tagaloa sent to spread over the rocks had
resulted in worms. Tagaloa had then given these worms arms, legs, a head, and a beating heart; thus

corpse and the worms eventually turned into dwarves. Four dwarves named Nordi, Vestri, Sundri, and
Audri were given the task of holding up the four corners of the sky representing the four cardinal
directions; north, west, south, and east respectively. Other creation myths that place importance on the
four cardinal directions are the Cherokee creation myth and the Chinese creation myth. When Pangu
dies, his arms and legs became the four directions. Furthermore, the Cherokee creation myth describes
earth as this floating island surrounded entirely by water, hanging from the sky through cords arranged

of them are built around the same symbols and themes of the dismemberment of a world parent, the

Social Adversity In Out Of This Furnace
Literature helps mirror some of the issues that individuals face in the society. Authors use fictional or
real situations, in some cases, to demonstrate the extent to which a community suffers from various
injustices, which undermine wholesome optimal function in different sectors. Historically, the United
States has had issues with social inclusivity following oppression of immigrants, limited opportunities
for minority groupings, racism, discrimination, among other things. In his novel, Out of This Furnace,
Thomas Bell echoes the experiences of the Kracha family, where he chronicles the various life
experiences from one generation to the next. Bell centers on the life of steel workers and their
experiences in America. Despite ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One would actually be justified to assume that the steel mill company is representative of the unfair
treatment workers received from the various industries they worked for. In order to echo the
discrimination and oppression that immigrants experienced, Thomas H. Coode, in an essay, Many
Miles to the Middle Class: Reflections on Three Narratives of Life in Mine and Mill Towns states,
Mike s story, describes turn of the century steel mills as booming; but long and dangerous hours in the
mills deprive workers of family time, and poverty and meanness plague Slovak families whose
occupational ambitions compete with the ethnic prejudices of bosses and the corporations, (94). In this
statement, Coode makes it clear that corporations during that time were not sensitive to the welfare of
their workers, which only means that they were only focused on making profit. They sacrificed good
working conditions and sustainable salaries for huge returns to enrich themselves. Such is a
demonstration of marginalization and oppression of the poor. It is evident that Mary and her family
suffer social exclusion, which undermined their wellbeing. In the novel, Mike talks reflecting the true
nature of the society in which they lived. He says, But I m a Hunky and they don t give good jobs to
Hunkies, (Bell, 185). This particular statement demonstrates the limiting and oppressive nature of the
American society. Putting this into context, Nancy Hewitt, in her book, A

The Dangers Of Solitude In Mark Watney s The Martian
Solitude can be detrimental. Not simply being alone, but complete isolated from human contact. No
one to talk to and no one to listen. While many are convinced they would keep their sanity, one will
know unless they find themselves in that situation. This is exactly what happens to Mark Watney in
The Martian. Completely stranded and alone, the situation he faces changed who he was. His
intelligence and perseverance are put to the test as he desperately works to return home to Earth.
Throughout his many trials, setbacks, and successes, Watney exhibits true determination during his
isolation on Mars. We too can find this ability in ourselves. Using Mark Watney as an example, there
are many lessons to be learned about perseverance. After Watney is left stranded, he immediately
begins to develop and execute a plan of survival. By developing a plan, he is able to keep his end goal
in sight at all times. This can apply to everyday life as well. Every person has their own long term
goals. Whether it s graduating college, starting a business, or striving to have a deeper relationship
with God, these goals take hard work. However, this kind of change does not happen overnight. It
takes working hard toward the finish line a little bit each day. Mark Watney does just that throughout
the film. Everyday he works to grow his own food with the resources he has with him. He uses his
wits to solve difficult problems regarding communication with Earth or journeying across Mars.

Research Paper On Dog Park
Will a dog park be a postive addition to Muscatine, or will it be a negative addition? This is the
question currently being asked. Both sides of the party make a very good argument. From it being a
postive way for dogs to let out their energy and socialize, to it being a negative disruption for tax
payers and surrounding residents of the dog park. My personal opinion is the dog park should be
contructed, and here are some supporting reasons why.
As stated in the first passage, dogs need to be socialized with other dogs to be a good dog at home and
outside of its home. If a dog is not properly socialized it can easily lead to a aggressive or reserved
dog. At home i have a dog of my own which whom I adopted from a shelter. When I first attained him
he was very shy and skittish, especially around other dogs. However after taking him to our local dog
park and into different stores that allow your dog to accompany you, his behavior started to change.
He slowly started to become less shy and now wants to play with every dog he sees. If dogs have a

that it was only a few days after her filibuster at the senate. She was trying to reach out to the women

Roe Vs Wade Summary
Roe vs. Wade In the case of Roe vs. Wade, Jane Roe, whose real name is Norma McCorvey was at the
time a single pregnant woman who challenged the Constitution of Texas s abortion laws. The laws
made it a crime to obtain or attempt an abortion except for medical reasons like to save the life of the
mother. Roe claimed rights to privacy. In 1971, the case was then sent to be argues in the supreme
court. In 1972, it was argued again. The case involved the rights of privacy that were implied by the
1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 9th, and 14th amendments(Roe v Wade Case Brief Summary, 2008). Wade argued
the state has a right to protect prenatal life. He argued that life is created at the moment of
contraception. The unborn are people and are entitled to protection under the Constitution of Texas.
The Texas law is a legal exercise of police powers reserved by the state in order to protect the health
and safety of citizens, not excluding unborn children. The law is constitutional and should be upheld.

Relationship Between Britain And The Colonies
Though both are independent nations, the United Kingdom and the United States now share a close
bond, and have even been allies during WWI and WWII in the 20th century. But when the colonies of
the United States were under British rule, the relations between the Colonies and Britain were not so
friendly. The views on government and taxation between the two became radically different and
created a large disagreement between the American Patriots and those loyal to Britain. Cracks began
to form in the relationship between Britain and the Colonies, and the differences between the two
would inevitably result in the American Revolution. Between 1754 and 1763, Britain and French were
involved in the French and Indian War, which was a territorial dispute between Britain and France.
With the help of the British American colonists, Britain was able to maintain and increase its borders

War/Seven Years War 1754 1763 1). Not willing to tax its own citizens any further, Britain decided to
tax the American colonies more in order to generate revenue. Before the war, American colonists were
paying a fraction of the taxes than those living in Britain, and even after the imposed taxes, the
average American would pay less taxes than the average Englishman ( British Acts on Colonial
America 1).

that believe in different actions and have different beliefs. Malcolm X argues about the suffrage
situations African Americans go through regardless of their religion. He goes in depth on the subject
about white men and how we as African Americans have suffered politically, economically, and

Cats And Dogs Similarities
Cats vs. Dogs
There are so many different options when choosing a pet for you and your family. Some people like
lizards, some like fish, and some like hamsters, or rabbits. Most people choose between the two
primary pets, cats or dogs. The question you might find people asking a lot is, Are you a dog or cat
person ? In some ways cats and dogs are very similar. In other ways, they differ from each other a lot.
Most people would think that dogs and cats are polar opposites and don t have much in common but
that s not exactly true. Compared to some other pets, cats and dogs have a lot of similiarities. To start
off, they are both domesticated animals. Some people like to buy exotic or wild animals as pets, such
as tigers or raccoons, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with similiarties, there are many differences between the two as well. The first difference many
people notice or have to take in account is the way cats behave vs dogs. Cats are known to be very
independent. They don t need constant attention and love like most dogs do. Elizabeth Allen (2015)
states, The results of the study reveal that while cats might prefer to interact with their owner, they do
not rely on them for reassurance when in an unfamiliar environment, and the researchers believe this
is because of the nature of the species as a largely independent and solitary hunter. This study shows
that although most cats like interactions with their owner they do not need them.
Another difference between the two is their exercise and bathroom needs. Cat s can typically lounge
around the house all day. If you get them a little scratch post and some toys they typically are fine with
staying in the house all day, unless you have an outside cat. Dogs typically need much more excerise
and play time. Dogs, especially puppies, have a lot of energy and need taken out at least once a day on
a walk or to play, if not twice. As for going to the bathroom, indoor cats typically will have a litter
box, which needs cleaned daily. Dogs should go to the bathroom outside which takes a lot less
maintenance. You can clean your yard about once a week.
A final difference between the two is the fact that dogs are pack animals and cats are not. Dogs travel

world s most embarrassing secret and have it remain a secret.I met her when I was in third grade and
she was in fifth. She was outgoing and the most friendliest person I ve ever meet. Caroline has
welcoming blue eyes and blonde hair that is made of a pure charming kindness that is threatening to

Comparing Anne Peter And The Anne Frank Book And Play
Book or Play? There s always differences and similarities between them both, in this essay I will
compare and contrast the Anne Frank book and the Anne Frank play. The book is an emotional, well
narrated story written by Anne Frank, and the play is also an emotional, well performed story based on
Anna Franks book. This story is about a 13 year old girl whom grew up during the Holocaust, and her
journey throughout it. She talks about living in the Secret Annexe and the different relationships she
built with the seven other people living with her whether it be good or bad. In each paragraph I will be
explaining the differences and similarities from traits of both the play and the book. First I will talk
about Peter and Anne, in the play Peter and Anne s first impressions were that they disliked each other
because there personalities were polar opposite, Anne is a very talkative, energetic girl and Peter is a
shy, introverted boy. Some differences between the book and the play is Peter is a very kind, clumsy
kid in the book but, in the play he s a fiery hot headed kid. Also Anne is more disrespectful and rude to
her parents and the other adults in the play, but in the book she keeps more of her anger towards her
mom and the other adults to herself, she doesn t really disrespect them as much. Some similarities of
Peter in the book and the play is, that he tries to shy away from everyone and keep to himself and he
really only plays with his cat Mouchi or talks to Anne. Some

Three Possible New Products Or New Product Line Extensions
A) List three possible new products or new product line extensions.
1) Titleist Pro V1 extra padded, slip resistant socks 2) Titleist Pro V1 t shirt 3) Titleist Pro V1 golf
grips
B) Why did you think of these products?
1)
I thought of the Titleist Pro V1 extra padded, slip resistant socks because golfers normally wear socks
that are a little higher than the shoe. On the rims of the socks that wraps around the ankle we would
have Titleist Pro V1 in big letters to promote the Titleist Pro V1 brand. Also, there is usually nothing
worse than a sock slipping off in a shoe to only find a big blister later, so having the sock be extra
padded and slip resistant is likely to ensure comfort and blister free feet.
2)
I thought of Titleist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that the Titleist Pro V1 extra padded, slip resistant socks will have the best chance of
succeeding in the market compared to the other products I ve listed above.
Question # 2:
A) Please respond to each of these considerations for the one chosen new product of your Product
Group:
1) Will it be simple to produce, using existing manufacturing systems? Titleist Pro V1 extra padded,
slip resistant socks will be fairly simple to produce using existing manufacturing systems since Titleist
already makes embroidered golf towels. Therefore, making a few tweaks like changing the towels
fabric to the socks fabric to make and embroider the rims of the socks likely wont alter the current
manufacturing systems greatly. This will likely help keep the costs to make the Titleist Pro V1 extra
padded, slip resistant socks low since the same machinery can be used. 2) What is the Selling
Proposition ? The selling proposition for this product will be Titleist Pro V1 extra padded, slip
resistant socks, designed to protect you even in harsh conditions . It s likely that whoever reads this
selling proposition will feel confident the socks will benefit their well being. The selling proposition
could also help the Titleist Pro V1 brand be seen as caring since the socks are made to help the
consumers.
3) Does it have a different target market from your established products? Titleist Pro V1 extra

Conduct Disorder Research Paper
Conduct disorder is an externalizing childhood disorder and involves a child displaying behaviors that
violate societal norms or other people s own rights. The causes of such deviant and aggressive
behavior may be linked to genetic, neurobiological, psychological, and sociocultural factors. Some
propose that peer influences may also be etiological factors to such disorders. First, characteristics of
aggression are generally more heritable than other delinquent behaviors such as stealing. It is also
suggested that the MAOA gene on the X chromosome responsible for the break down of certain
neurotransmitters is less active in those with conduct disorder. However, studies show that there is
only an increased risk for conduct disorder among children when the environmental factor of being
maltreated co occurs with the decreased MAOA activity. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is also known that when a child develops a conduct disorder earlier on in childhood, this is
associated with a lower than average IQ in future years of school. Some psychological factors that
may contribute to the development of conduct disorders include the child s moral awareness, parenting
styles, theories based on modeling and operant conditioning, and Dodge s social cognitive perspective.
Sociocultural factors that are likely predisposing factors to conduct disorders are poor neighborhoods,
lack of parental supervision, and hyperactivity. It should be noted that ethnicity does not increase a
child s risk, but poor neighborhoods that tend to be heavily populated by minorities do. Finally, peer
influences such as being rejected by peers or interacting with like minded peers can be predictive of a

The United Parcel Service ( Ups )
The United Parcel Service (UPS) adopted a business strategy of mostly hiring part time workers
attractive to young workers who were given work at off time shifts earning union negotiated wages
and benefits. However, part time work presented almost no opportunity for advancement. By 1996,
this part time UPS s workforce grew to 182,000 part time employees, working approximately 26 28
hours/week. The Teamster Union, handling the bargaining negotiations for UPS worker members,
researched the rights of the part time worker and analyzed the disparities in salaries, retirement fund
benefits and limited opportunities for full time hiring between the part time and full time workers. The
Teamster Union members called for strike after presenting this picture of UPS had exploited part time
workers to cut costs. This 1997 strike against UPS was as successful as it was disruptive. The strike
was disruptive to the businesses across the country because it upset the shipping patterns. Yet, the
strikers had gained large general public support over the company. The strike was led Teamsters
president Ron Carey successfully because of its strategic execution. Namely, Carey made good use of
media and generated public sentiment to pressure UPS to settle in his favor. From the first, the
Teamsters had the high ground given the nature of the dispute and the fact that the public was also
concerned about the issue of part time work and the way companies were using part time workers to
avoid paying

The Stresses that Come with Being a Nurse
Multiple studies over the past twenty plus years have looked at factors affecting the nurse s workday
and the effects it has on them. When an individual first enters a chosen career, he or she is driven. If
the work environment is not encouraging of the individual s efforts and concerns, the reality of the job
and the individual s prospects begin to deviate and frustration and disappointment happens. (Kerri,
2014) These feelings can bring about job displeasure, resulting in decreased efficiency, loss of
confidence and concentration, and behavior changes. If these circumstances are not addressed, stress
accumulates and causes typical stress related symptoms. The definite stressors within the work
environment that lead to stress and burnout can be different among occupations and between
individuals within an occupation. The starting place of burnout is in the work environment, but
because not every individuals working in a certain environment will experience burnout, personal risk
factors must have a role in putting the individual at risk for burnout. Therefore, personality is another
important factor to be considered.
Jennings (2010) found that: Neuroticism has been associated with exhaustion. External locus of
control has demonstrated a positive relationship with burnout and stress. Findings are mixed for
hardiness. Evaluations of anxiety reflect a link with stress and burnout. Anxiety is viewed as having
two components state anxiety, the temporary component which manifests

The Love Song Of Prufrock, By T. S. Eliot
The excerpt from T.S. Eliot s work The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock highlights some of the
modernist theories that were forming during the time. Some of the themes that this poem shows are
the omissions of introductions, conclusions, and continuity and the fragmentation of experience. The
modernist ideals can be seen in the form and the theme of poem. The poem and the ideals reflect the
general anxiety and confusion of the time. The excerpt from The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, by
T.S. Eliot, shows some of the ideas of the modernist movement, ideals like fragmentation of
experience and omission of introduction, conclusion, and continuity, which can be seen in the form
and the tone of the poem, all lead to the theme of the poem and the sentiments of the time frame. The
excerpt shows the modernist idea of fragmentation of experience through its form and its tone. The
form conveys the principle of fragmentation through its erratic meter and unpredictable line length.
This adds to the poem s theme of uncertainty and to the whole feel of the modernist era, which was
one of uncertain challenging. The theme of this piece also reflects the fragmentation through its
dramatic shifts in mood and tone. The language of the excerpt shows the bewilderment of the time;
this can be felt in the tone. For example with words like muttered, ... Show more content on

  • 2. Disabilities Rights Movement Research Paper After watching, videos, going over the material, and doing some research about the disabilities rights movement I found it sad that people have fought so long and hard to get the rights there are now for people with disabilities, the rights that should be unspoken and come naturally, not have to be fought for. The opening of the American School for the Deaf happened in 1817 in Hartford Connecticut. This was an important event. This was the first School for children with disabilities in the western part of the world. I believe this opened the door for the possibility of more children with disabilities to go to school. This school started to help some people see that these children could learn and succeed with the right help and support. Maybe people of this decade were afraid of peoples differences therefore didn t want to acknowledge they may be able to learn and be a contributing person to society. The American school helped change these attitudes I believe Things have really changed since then. There are now inclusion programs which children with disabilities learn and interact with their typical developing peers. I think people have come a long way with fearing the differences in other ... • 4. Writing Is The First Nonmilitary Course I Have Taken Writing 101 is the first nonmilitary course I have taken in the last 10 years. The reason I elected to take writing 101 was twofold. There is the obvious reason which is of course, that I need to complete this class to move forward with my educational goals in getting my bachelor s degree. The second reason is that I have always had a great interest in writing both from view point of the writer and that of the reader. I have spent the last 17 years reading and writing many different products for the Navy from instructions to messages, each having their own unique format and purpose. The military style of writing is very different from how we write in the civilian world; each one has their place but I find that writing nonmilitary works are more enjoyable, yes even the academic papers. When I first started the WRTG 101 class my writing and sentence structure skills were rusty to say the least. Now at the end of the writing 101 class I can say that my writing and sentence skill levels have improved but by no measure the best they can be. Using an unfamiliar format and tools was an interesting obstacle to overcome to say the least but not the end point of what I learned in this course. The Communications Fitness or COMFIT website was a great tool I liked that it took you many different directions to help you understand a topic. The two topics I can say that COMFIT really helped with were commas and colons and semicolons. The examples and tests helped me better understand ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Answer: Business writing is different Writing for a business audience is usually quite different than writing in the humanities, social sciences, or other academic disciplines. Business writing strives to be crisp and succinct rather than evocative or creative; it stresses specificity and accuracy. This distinction does not make business writing superior or inferior to other styles. Rather, it reflects the unique purpose and considerations involved when writing in a business context. When you write a business document, you must assume that your audience has limited time in which to read it and is likely to skim. Essay On Health Inequalities Over the most recent years there have been health advocates who have been paying serious attention to the health disparities and the association between health, wealth and inequality. In the United States (US), health inequalities can be viewed as a very important issue amongst it s populations. There have also been ongoing debates, researches and documentaries highlighting such comparisons and links between these disparities. Many consumers of the healthcare system have experienced the inequalities with the provision of quality health care. After viewing the video series Unnatural Causes: Is inequality making us sick? which was produced by Larry Adelman (2008), brings more awareness on the divide which exist among the people who have wealth to those who have low socioeconomic status and are living in poverty. There are several wealthy people who use their power through politics, wealth and other means to provide care to it s citizens less than what they themselves receive. The UC Davis Student health and counseling services explains that wellness has eight dimensions: occupational, emotional, spiritual, environmental, financial, physical, social, and intellectual. Each dimension of wellness is interrelated with another and they are all equally vital in the pursuit of optimum health . Health s the body s ability to adapt to a variety of stresses or challenges maintaining a state of equilibrium that is physical, mental, and emotional. Based on the following information it can be easily reasoned that health should be considered a basic human right. Difficulty accessing healthy food based off of geographic location, denied access to healthcare treatments based off of individuals economic capacity, and denied access to health care based off of where a person is born should not happen. Health does not consist of one concept but rather a combination of comprehensive subjects that form the cycle of everyday life. Health education provides its population with the necessary knowledge and tools to help increase overall health, shape attitudes, and ultimately hopes to change behavior (WHO, n.d.). Health education is advocating, promoting, teaching, and setting an example of well being for all human beings regardless of ethnicity, social economic status, race, and ... • 13. The For Good Quality Cement The clinker coming out of the kiln is at temperatures of around 1400oC. For good quality cement, this temperature has to be brought down to around 200oC in a limited period of time. Thus it is brought in contact with a cross circulation heat exchanging cooler. The heat of the incoming clinker is recuperated in the secondary air at an efficiency which usually lies within 65% to 70 The clinker cooler has the following main functions: 1. Recuperate the clinker heat by heating up the combustion air (secondary and tertiary air) 2. Maintain a minimum cooling velocity in order to avoid unfavorable mineralogical clinker phases and crystal size 3. Facilitate clinker handling and storage. Three groups of coolers can be defined according to their working principle: A. On a grate cooler the clinker forms a bed which is transported along the grate by different mechanisms. The cooling air is blown from below the grate by fans and passes through the clinker bed in cross current. Only a Dart of this air can be used as combustion air, the rest of it has to be dedusted and wasted, unless it can be used for another purpose (e.g. raw material or coal drying, fuel oil preheating, heating of buildings, warm water preparation, etc.). B. The operating principle of a tube cooler is quite similar to the one of a rotary kiln: the material and the cooling air are led in counter current through one or more slightly inclined rotating tubes. • 17. Negative Thoughts And Shame Addiction Negative Thoughts and Shame Addiction Posted on July 20 by johnmerideth Addiction When we think about addiction, it seems we mostly talk about substances or activities and rarely about the deeply set emotions that come with being an addict. Recently I watched the HBO special Addiction, and was struck by its limited scope in relating dependence or addiction to thoughts. As I watched the segments, I wondered if they had considered the number of ordinary people struggling with the less obvious but equally debilitating addiction to shame. Shame drives tapes within the mind of each person in slightly different ways but the outcome for most of us is the same...unfulfilling choices. In the HBO special they did cover how brain imaging research, MRI, illustrates the way in which the animal brain, the limbic part of our neural anatomy, overrides the decision making prefrontal lobe. It can be a smell or place or the intensity of a conversation...whatever the cause...once the addiction/dependence circuit is triggered there is little time for the do you really want to do that thought to emerge and take hold before the flight or fight response kicks into overdrive. What started as a survival mechanism, over time, becomes a sure fire method for self abuse and dis ease. William Golding s Lord of the Flies and Elie Wiesel s Night each have a historical background; however, the importance of each varies depending on the type of literary work. Lord of the Flies tells a story of a large group of schoolboys that landed on an island after their plane crashed. These kids begin their adventure by electing a leader named Ralph, and initially they act civil, organized, and ready to survive. As the novel progresses, a rebellious older boy named Jack begins to act out, trying to replace Ralph with himself as leader. Eventually, the wild, rambunctious nature of these boys wreaks havoc on the ability of the group to survive together, and three boys tragically died before a Navy ship comes to their rescue. The historical context of this book is short; there is a World War happening, and the boys plane was shot down by an enemy pilot. This was the entire reason they were stranded on an island in the first place. These things happen to people in sports, bands, military, and in a workplace. First, people may say hazing is okay because it strengthens a person mentally. It teaches boys to be men or girls to be women. Donna Phillips, whose son experienced severe hazing at the Citadel in Charleston, SC, said There s no need for hazing. It destroys people (Preventing). • 23. Vibrio Fischeri Is A Bacterium That Served As The Model... Vibrio fischeri is a Gram negative bacterium that served as the model organism in this experiment. We isolated only the luxAB portion of the entire lux operon and inserted it into the pGEM vector plasmid to transcribe the luciferase enzyme required for bioluminescence. Within the lux operon, luxAB is responsible for producing subunits that form luciferase, which oxidizes the aldehyde made by luxCDE into the reduced flavin mononucleotide FMNH2 and results in the production of light known as bioluminescence[6]. The luxI gene that is also present on the operon produces the autoinducer which interacts with a regulator, LuxR, [and] activates transcription of the lux operon at high cell density to induce bioluminescence[4]. This interaction between the products of luxI and luxR is known as quorum sensing and serves as an evolutionary purpose in the symbiotic relationship with Euprymna scolopes, a type of squid that contains the light organ where the bacteria resides[6]. In the first portion of the experiment, Vibrio fischeri chromosomal DNA was isolated by lysing the bacterial membranes and removing the proteins and lipids. Addition of a lysozyme solution breaks down the peptidoglycan layer in Gram negative bacteria and proteinase K/SDS degrades the proteins and disrupt the membranes. Liquid liquid extraction using Tris buffered phenol permits separation of proteins and lipids from the DNA into the organic layer. It is also essential that the isolated DNA is pure and free of ... From it being a postive way for dogs to let out their energy and socialize, to it being a negative disruption for tax payers and surrounding residents of the dog park. My personal opinion is the dog park should be contructed, and here are some supporting reasons why. As stated in the first passage, dogs need to be socialized with other dogs to be a good dog at home and outside of its home. If a dog is not properly socialized it can easily lead to a aggressive or reserved dog. At home i have a dog of my own which whom I adopted from a shelter. When I first attained him he was very shy and skittish, especially around other dogs. However after taking him to our local dog park and into different stores that allow your dog to accompany you, his behavior started to change. He slowly started to become less shy and now wants to play with every dog he sees. If dogs have a place to socialize, this will then lead to less of them in the shelter which will also lead to less money taken from taxes we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This trend is evident by the plethora of studies conducted regarding a variety of combinations of substance addictions and mental disorders. The importance of the date of the Stand with Texas Women speech is that it was only a few days after her filibuster at the senate. She was trying to further her points from the filibuster, by talking directly to the Texas women who attended the rally. Relationship Between Britain And The Colonies Though both are independent nations, the United Kingdom and the United States now share a close bond, and have even been allies during WWI and WWII in the 20th century. But when the colonies of the United States were under British rule, the relations between the Colonies and Britain were not so friendly. The views on government and taxation between the two became radically different and created a large disagreement between the American Patriots and those loyal to Britain. Cracks began to form in the relationship between Britain and the Colonies, and the differences between the two would inevitably result in the American Revolution. Between 1754 and 1763, Britain and French were involved in the French and Indian War, which was a territorial dispute between Britain and France. With the help of the British American colonists, Britain was able to maintain and increase its borders in America, but the funds needed to support the war caused Britain to go into debt ( French and Indian War/Seven Years War 1754 1763 1). Not willing to tax its own citizens any further, Britain decided to tax the American colonies more in order to generate revenue. Before the war, American colonists were paying a fraction of the taxes than those living in Britain, and even after the imposed taxes, the average American would pay less taxes than the average Englishman ( British Acts on Colonial America 1). Along with similiarties, there are many differences between the two as well. The first difference many people notice or have to take in account is the way cats behave vs dogs. Cats are known to be very independent. They don t need constant attention and love like most dogs do. Elizabeth Allen (2015) states, The results of the study reveal that while cats might prefer to interact with their owner, they do not rely on them for reassurance when in an unfamiliar environment, and the researchers believe this is because of the nature of the species as a largely independent and solitary hunter. This study shows that although most cats like interactions with their owner they do not need them. Another difference between the two is their exercise and bathroom needs. Cat s can typically lounge around the house all day. If you get them a little scratch post and some toys they typically are fine with staying in the house all day, unless you have an outside cat. Dogs typically need much more excerise and play time. Dogs, especially puppies, have a lot of energy and need taken out at least once a day on a walk or to play, if not twice. As for going to the bathroom, indoor cats typically will have a litter box, which needs cleaned daily. Dogs should go to the bathroom outside which takes a lot less maintenance. You can clean your yard about once a week. A final difference between the two is the fact that dogs are pack animals and cats are not. Dogs travel in packs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The book is an emotional, well narrated story written by Anne Frank, and the play is also an emotional, well performed story based on Anna Franks book. This story is about a 13 year old girl whom grew up during the Holocaust, and her journey throughout it. She talks about living in the Secret Annexe and the different relationships she built with the seven other people living with her whether it be good or bad. In each paragraph I will be explaining the differences and similarities from traits of both the play and the book. First I will talk about Peter and Anne, in the play Peter and Anne s first impressions were that they disliked each other because there personalities were polar opposite, Anne is a very talkative, energetic girl and Peter is a shy, introverted boy. Some differences between the book and the play is Peter is a very kind, clumsy kid in the book but, in the play he s a fiery hot headed kid. Also Anne is more disrespectful and rude to her parents and the other adults in the play, but in the book she keeps more of her anger towards her mom and the other adults to herself, she doesn t really disrespect them as much.
