1. Ancillary
I am going to analyse artist album covers and posters
and see how they make it appeal to there audiences.
Artists use synergy to promote different aspects in there
music career. I am studying the album covers and
posters of different artists to compare the similarities and
how the use synergy throughout

2. Ed Sheeran keeps the colour of
his synergy green. The colour is
bright and eye catching. This
consistent colour in both the
album cover and poster stands
out and allows audiences to
recognise the synergy
immediately.
The album name is ‘X’ which is shown on the
poster but it is faded. The implied audience is
people who like Ed Sheeran and listen to his
music. Audiences will appeal to this ‘X’ as it is
the main focus of the album, so they will take
a liking to it wanting to go to the concert as
they would be familiar with the album and
enjoy it.
The font style of the writing is consistent
throughout the poster and album.
Ed is pictured holding a guitar. This
links to the album as implied
audiences or his fans will know he
plays guitar in most of his songs. Also
he is known for his acoustic versions of
songs that his fans enjoy. This reals the
audience in as they will further be
appealed through the artist.
The artist is seen to be jumping
in the picture on the poster. This
gives audiences the type of
atmosphere that will be at the
concert – giving it a upbeat and
energetic atmosphere which
audiences will appeal to.
The ‘X’ is used on the guitar
selling the album further
bringing in audiences
interested in the album. It
also promotes the album for
people who have an interest
in Ed Sheeran and who have
not heard about it.

3. The picture on the album is a somewhat
revealing picture of the artist. This will appeal
to audiences as some may aspire to be like her
therefore like her because of her looks. It also
gives a sense of power and shows her
confidence which audiences will like.
The name of the album is ‘The Pink Print’
and the name of the tour is ‘The pink print
tour’. This immediately shows the link to
the album and tour. The element from the
album is used on the poster, as the same
font style and colour is used. The main
colour is ‘pink’ shown through the album,
poster font, and the artists lips. This
expresses the ‘female power’ which the
artist is known to emphasis.
The background of the poster is black,
making the artist stand out and
emphasising the ‘girl power’ which she
promotes and has a strongly belief in
as an artist. The black background also
gives the poster an edgy theme to it
which will appeal to the audience as
they will want to go to her concert
and see her live in action.
Although the finger print evident on the
album cover highlights the album name
‘pinkprint’ it also gives suggests the
artists identity. It shows the artist is
owning her album, appealing to
audiences as it is a more personal
image of Nicki.

4. The Name of the artist is in white
contrasting to the black/dark coloured
background making it stand out. The
typeface is in the writing of a theatrical
style, which highlights the idea of her
being a performer which will further
appeal to audiences. It makes the album
look somewhat prestige making it stand
out establishes the artist to be higher then
others.
Paloma Faith is the centre of her
album, with her being in a variety of
costumes. In different positions. This
shows a dramatic side to the artist and
may show her depth of the songs on
her album. It gives a sense of the
theatre and acting which will appeal to
the audiences as it shows the vibrant,
creative personality the artist has.
The centre of the poster is also the artist,
in a pose which looks like she is acting.
The theme of the performing arts is
continuous throughout her poster and
album keeping up her appearance she
has made as an artist.
In comparison to the dark colours used in
the album cover the poster used blue/cold
colours. This shows her different sides of
personality showing the broadness of
feelings which may be portrayed in her
concerts.

5. Rita Ora’s album includes a extreme
close up of her filling the whole album
cover. The picture is seen on the poster
too. The fact that the same picture is
used in the same format as the album
shows it will attract audiences who like
the album as it is noticeable
The sponsor of the concert is
MTV and is evident in the corner
of the poster. This will attract
audiences who like MTV as MTV
is a brand known for its music
and up to date trends. The fact
that they make the sponsor
evident on the poster will attract
a larger audience. They may not
know the artist well, but from
the sponsor they may want to
find out more about it.
The picture is in black and white and
the writing of the album name ‘Ora’
and the artists name is in red. The
red stands out and suggests danger
and love/lust. This will appeal to
audiences as they will get the sense
that her album will be edgy and
audiences will like this and want to
get the album.

6. The colours of both the album and the
poster is a pink/orange and purple
colour. These colours show the vibrant
mixed personality of the artist. The
audience being fans who see the
poster will recognise the colours
immediately from the album and
therefore will want to go to the
concert if they enjoy the album.
The Name of the album ‘Bangerz’ is
presented in pink lights. This is to
make it stand out and highlight the
fame and celebrity life the artist lives.
It may appeal to the audience as they
will get the impression the songs will
be upbeat and extravagant through
her vibrant personality.
The artist is presented in the
centre of her album in a black
suit. The costume highlights
power and confidence and
will appeal to audiences.
The picture presented on the
poster represents the artist Miley
Cyrus as she is known for her crazy
antics. This will appeal to the
audience of her fan base, as they
will like her for her outgoing
personality and will want to go to
her concert more to see what she
will do and get the sense of the
upbeat audience.
The name of the tour is ‘Bangerz
Tour’. This will attract audiences
who already have heard the
songs from the album and like it
as they will want to go to the
concert because they’ll know
what they expect

7. Conclusion
Through my analysis of artist Posters and albums
I have seen they keep a continuous theme
throughout to promote themselves and there
products etc.
The artists have kept the name of there album the
same as there tour – as it allows people to
recognise both and it further promotes both the
album and concert through the poster.
