types of shots and scenes that are shown. The images of skyscrapers and a city
shown within her and a plain background on the rest of the cover suggests and
presents that the music video includes a girl who may retreat within herself ,and be
very mysterious and unreadable by others by withdrawing within herself. The
skyscrapers on the cover could also suggest that the artist is involved and
overwhelmed by the city she’s in, and is so trapped by the content of where she lives
and the people she is surrounded by, which is a big theme in the music video and
her character., this is shown by how she acts in the music video

3. The process of making the album
cover
The process of creating this album cover involved using
Adobe Photoshop. I used an original photo taken with a
canon camera when I was conducting a photo shoot for the
artist, which was in the woods where I was adding to my
artist’s image through the location I chose and also the
clothes she wore. The next step was adding the black and
white filter onto the image. After doing this I replaced the
image of the artist with the image of skyscrapers and kept
the outline of the artists face and body. I then removed the
remaining background which was surrounding the artist and
replaced it with a grey tinted blank background. Once I had
completed the album’s image, I added to the album’s cover
a bold title of the album’s title in black and in all capitals
and positioned it on the left hand side of the artist’s body.

4. How the album cover appeals to my
target audience
This album cover is presented as very urban and skilfully
edited. The album cover will appeal to niche audiences such
as urban and alternative and grunge, because the cover is
displayed as unique and different to most mass audience
popular album covers, and artists who have glamorous and
complicated covers. Whereas this cover is simple yet artistic
and suggests themes and a deeper meaning even though
the cover appears to be limited and reserved, but that is the
aim of this album cover as it links directly to the music video
and the artists simple and stable external image and front,
like the background of this album cover, yet a complex and
troubled hectic internal image and persona. That is shown
inside the image of the artist which are the skyscrapers ,who
has a calm and unrevealing facial expression.
