This tour poster is
designed in black and
white, which shows
what the genre is of the
band. Black and white
colours are typical
conventions of a pop-
rock genre as its simple
and not too out there.
The target audience of this
band are young/teenage
girls; we can see this clearly
through the way that the
poster is designed. The
band members are the main
focus of this poster and as
they are attractive, teenage
girls are going to be
interested in them.
The bands logo is
placed on the
poster so that
they are instantly
recognisable to
the audience.
This poster states that the band performs separate
acoustic shows; this tells us that they are of the rock-pop
genre as most artists in this genre would have separate
singles that are just acoustic so that they can show off their
natural talent.
The band members are wearing casual, comfortable
clothing which are generic conventions of pop-rock
artists as they don’t usually go for revealing, bright
and very eye catching clothing.

serious, they’re laid-back
and enjoying themselves;

Demi is the main focus of this poster as she
is placed largely in the right centre; this is
allows the audience to instantly recognise
who the artist is.
The colours on this
poster are all natural
and light colours;
this keeps
everything simple
and to a minimum
which is a generic
convention of a pop-
rock artist as they
don’t tend to use
bright, bold colours.
This states all the other artists that
Demi has collaborated with on the
album; this allows the fans of these
other artists to gain an interest in
this album as they would have
similar music taste.
Her name is
repeated on the
poster to
emphasis who
she is. “Demi” is
in bold writing
which makes us
attracted to it
straight-away and
it stands out of
the poster and
sticks in our

very simply and
sophisticated which
allows her to look
attractive which will
attract boys to the
poster.
The target audience would be
teenagers of both genders.
The boys would be attracted
to Demi as she is portrayed
as a “sex symbol” and the
girls would be attracted by
the colours and the featuring
artists.
4. REFLECTION.
This task has helped me to understand what to put on my
poster when I create my digi-pak for my own artist. I have
learned what colours to use and what colours most pop-rock
artists use which are usually either black and white or natural
colours. I have also learned that the simple the poster, the
more my target audience would be attracted to it, as most
artists in this genre use simplicity when advertising their songs,
albums and tours.
When making my poster, I will make sure that my artist is the
main focus of the poster so that the audience will be able to
instantly recognise who the artist is. I will also make sure that,
if I decide to have a logo for my artist, I will have it placed near
where the picture of the artist or where the name of the artist is
so that the audience would get used to it being there and it’ll be
memorable.
