Literary Response And Analysis
The revised LRA or Literary Response and Analysis is an example of mastery of Writing
Standard 5 that is about listening to peers and adults and making edits and revisions. To begin
with, one major revision made was improving and reworking the analysis to be more effective. On
the original LRA response, it states, " If it wasn't for Beorn, the dwarves, Gandalf, and Bilbo
probably wouldn't know what to do. Also, the crew would be starving and tired as well if Gandalf
didn't know who Beorn is." After receiving constructive criticism from my teacher, edits from the
analysis were made and now it states, " Therefore, if Bilbo and the dwarves did not encounter
Beorn, they would not know how to stay safe or where to go. Furthermore, Beorn supplied...show

In particular, I wrote and rewrote a few rough drafts and also read through several peer review
sheets or comments left on the Google Doc itself. The peer edit sheets were extremely useful for
helping and correcting any mistakes because the other person could have different opinions on
how to improve the essay as well as being able to discover mistakes I probably accidentally read
over and did not notice it. Just as important were the self–assessment since that was most of the
revision part and leads to the final product. For example, before the first self–assessment, my essay
states, "However, the original novel already planned out the best beginning character personalities,
therefore changing the initial plan of the book is useless because it can backfire." After reviewing
the essay, I later wrote, "Changing the initial plan is useless because Tolkein already spent
countless hours thinking and trying to perfect the quest of Bilbo and the dwarves." The transition
aspect of the rubric improved my writing because it presented the expectation for how well the
essay is supposed to "flow" together and be more smooth to read. After the first assessment, I made
two more important changes after the peer review sheets. A major revision made was, "However, in
the movie The Hobbit directed by Peter Jackson, he had made

Literary Response to 9/11 and its Aftermath: Mohsin Hamid's The Reluctant Fundamentalist
The incident of 9/11 is considered as one of the most dreadful terror attack occurred in the recent
years. It is believed that the attack was regulated by Al–Qaeda and its chief, Osama Bin–Laden. It
happened on September 11, 2001, when 19 militants of Al–Qaeda, the Islamist extremist group
hijacked four American planes. This was a suicidal attack targeting United States of America
devastating the twin tower of World Trade Centerin New York completely. Two of the planes
hijacked by the militants hit the two towers of World Trade Center, the third plane hit the Pentagon,
the US Military base and fourth plane in the fields in Pennsylvania killing more than

Response To Literature
Roland Barthes once said "Literature is the question minus the answer." This means that there is no
real answer to literature, there are just the questions. This is designed so you can incorporate and
have different ideas about literature instead of there being a definite answer to what everything
means. Shakespeare for example uses a certain language and his writings require you to think about
what's happening and why he worded it the way he did. Other books such as the Invisible Man has a
different meaning to the quote. At first I thought that this quote was referring to racism, but it was
so much more than that. This quote is saying that there is no answer to life. There are just a bunch
of questions followed by decisions but there is no...show more content...
Once you accept your past, new beginnings are a necessity to help find happiness in something
you love doing. New beginnings means a brighter future and a happier life in the future. This is
shown in the book the invisible man because he finds new a beginning, "This was a new phase, I
realized, a new beginning, and I would have to take that part of myself that looked on with remote
eyes and keep it always at the distance of the campus, the hospital machine, the battle royal–all now
far behind. Perhaps the part of me that observed listlessly but saw all, missing nothing, was still...the
dissenting voice, my grandfather part; the cynical disbelieving part–the traitor self that always
threatened internal discord. ( chapter 16)" the invisible man was able to overcome his past with
shock therapy in the hospital and he didn't listen to his grandfather when he constantly doubted
the invisible man. He joins a group called the brotherhood of harlem. It is a group of men that try
to gain rights that they deserve. They are sick of being restricted from going into bars and other
places just because he is black so him and this group try to gain back what they deserve. This is the
invisible man's new beginning. He just wanted a place to belong so he became apart of a group that

Literary Criticism In Hamlet
Response Literary Criticism – Hamlet on Film
1.The author's thesis was, "Campbell focuses on the initiatory paradigms of universal myths and
formulates the hero's rite of passage into three major stages: 'separation [departure]–initiation
[action]–return [reflection]' (Campbell 30) (Khoury 1)."
2.Yvette K. Khoury did give enough convincing evidence to support her thesis. A convincing
example of this would be when she said, "... Christopher Vogler who applies Campbell's theories,
'The Adventure of the Hero,' to protagonists of several modem films ranging from Pulp Fiction to
Star Wars" (1). This was a piece of supporting evidence because Christopher Vogler is a development
executive who makes screenwriters of several protagonists and thus, implements Campbell's theories.
3. An example of a direct quotation used by the author would be, "Olivier's Hamlet gives the
impression of going to take some action as he says, 'Or to take arms against a sea of troubles / And
by opposing end them' (3.1.59–60)" (4).
a.Is the quotation from a primary or secondary source?
The first part of the quotation (that is said by the author) is from a secondary source. The second
part of the quotation, is from a primary source (Hamlet).
b.The direct quotation is used to compare the slight differences that Olivier's version of Hamlet
(1948) had. It is used to illustrate the points that were different.
c.The author uses both, full sentences/lines of 59–60 in Act 3 Scene 1 of Hamlet.
d.The quotation is in fact, incorporated into the author's sentences, as the author gave a little bit of
background information, before introducing the quotation.
e.The parenthetical citations for Hamlet differ from those of the secondary sources because Hamlet
is a play, and thus, the parenthesis must include the act number, scene, and line number(s). Whereas
citing from a secondary source, the parenthesis must include the author's last name, and page
number(s).
4.There were some confusing parts in the essay that there should have been additional information to
fully understand. An example of this would be when the author said, "Each of the four Hamlet films
considered in this paper locates its interpretation of Hamlet into a very specific historical
