Maritime Security Perspective)
Build novelty in a related scientific work
Originality is an element of renewal or findings from a study. Research is
said to be good if it finds discoveries so that it has a contribution to both science
and life. If it aims to review and compare the results of previous studies of
conditions in the present, it should be adjusted to the real conditions in reality. In
the case of a phenomenon or problem faced must be crucial, something delicate
that can only be searched through scientific activities systematically, namely a
study. The results of this research can later be used as a theory that explains a
particular phenomenon.
Some novelty in a research study has several types, including:
1. Type 1 Novelty
Characteristic of finding something new in the sense of changing the basic
principles that already exist.
2. Type 2 Novelty
The difference with type 1, its nature can be an increase from the previous
policy or improvement of the prior theory/practice.
3. Type 3 Novelty
The novelty that produces a new fundamental principle, where the person
must have comprehensive insight.
To produce a process of renewal (novelty), According to Sukardi (2006),
we can do several steps as follows:
1. Reviewing aspects of operations, management, methods, procedures, and
others that are open to search and create
2. The type of novelty chosen by one or if you want to include more than one
innovation is also allowed.

Building Das Sein and Das Sollen and their relation to maritime security
Das Sein and Das Sollen come from German words. Namely, Das Sein
means the actual situation or reality that occurs at present, while Das Sollen
means what conditions or conditions are desired or expected, what must be there
later, etc. In the purest sense, Das Sein is everything that is the implementation of
Das Sollen, both by the das sollen and the contrary. Das Sein is a condition that
can be directly observed because it occurs in real time and can be felt instantly.
Meanwhile, Das Sollen is in the form of norms and norms as well as normative
facts like what should be done. This situation refers to the ideal conditions
expected.
Examples of conditions in the concept of Das Sollen are "According to the
legal rules that have been regulated in the law that explain that all citizens are
prohibited from consuming, trading and using marine biological resources that fall
into the category of rare / protected to prevent the extinction of a species
protected. Whereas an example of the condition in the concept of Das Sein is
"Still found the practice of buying and selling hawksbill and green turtle eggs that

concept of Das Sollen so that existing regulations or policies can be carried out as
expected and Das Sein's condition can be accepted and felt by all elements
society.
The relationship between defense science and existing scientific theories is related
to the interests of the state
The defense is a reality that determines the sovereignty and safety of a
nation and country. Defense science was born on October 18, 2012 (Tippe, 2016).
Conceptual Defense Science that examines matters concerning security, especially
human security, can be positioned as a grand theory to contribute to the efforts of
world peace. Defense Science examines what methodology is appropriate for

defense science. In Ontology Defense Science examines formal objects and
material objects of defense science. An overview of defense science ontology is
an object of defense science that reflects the behavior of the state to maintain and
develop the sustainability of the country concerned.
Epistemologically the epistemological review of defense science is
obtained through scientific research using quantitative, qualitative, and mix-
method methods (a combination of quantitative and qualitative). While in
axiology defense science examines the values of power or the benefits of defense
science. Axiological review, in reality, defense science has existed since the
beginning of the 20th century. That is, defense science has made a very significant
contribution to the development of a country's defense policy, even the value of
benefits is also felt by the international community, especially how to build
relations between countries harmonious, dynamic and peaceful.
If connected with existing theories of science, Defense Science also
includes various approaches in various scientific disciplines, such as science
which in its application examines various inventions of national defense
equipment such as defense equipment. In the study of technology, collaborating
produces technology that can be used to make technology that supports national
defense. Through views in economic theory, national economic resilience also
examines how to maintain a balance between supply and demand to maintain
domestic financial stability. In the context of the theory of international relations,
which is the interaction between countries on the dynamics of international
relations, the position of defense science seeks to contribute to promoting the
creation of global security, while at the same time benefiting the defense position
of a country. In the national defense science system, the location of this dimension
is the same as its position in the international system dimension. The difference
lies in the type of sovereignty, according to Suprapto (1997), which distinguishes
freedom in and out.
The defense is a reality of a political system that has grown, maintained,
and developed into a superior political system, apparently requiring a foundation
known as theory. A theory only becomes and develops well if it has a scientific

discipline (nasution, 1963: 3). In the International System, defense science with
the concept of human security can be used as one of the main approaches to
creating international security. Whereas in the national system of defense science
at the position of this dimension is the same as its position in the international
system dimension. The difference lies in the type of sovereignty, according to
Suprapto (1997), which distinguishes freedom in and out.
An example of the real usefulness of defense science is in responding. One
of the fundamental problems facing the Indonesian people today is the problem of
non-military defense in the field of ideology. Ideologies with religious content,
especially ideologies in the name of religion (Islam), such as the ideology for
establishing the Islamic State of Indonesia (NII) are still debates that threaten
national sovereignty. This fact is shown by the network or base area of the NII
which in the 1950s to the 1980s tended to increase, from 5 regional bases, namely
West Java, Central Java, Aceh, South Sulawesi and South Kalimantan to 7 regions
with the addition of Lampung and Poso.
Formulate research objectives well
The purpose of the study is a statement about what is to be achieved from
the research conducted. The research problem formulation uses the phrase
"question," while the purpose of the study uses the phrase "statement." In a study,
the nature of the goal is a projection of the research title, so a correlation between
the research title and the purpose of the examination must be established. Based
on the nature and characteristics of the research problems, the purpose of
conducting a study according to Sutrisno Hadi (2001) is expected to be able to
answer its role, namely to:
- Find knowledge.
- Develop an understanding.
- Test the truth of an agreement.
The purpose of a study depends on the type of research and what problems
are the focus of the study. Therefore, the research objectives must be consistent

with the issues that have been formulated. The purpose of the discussion is usually
written briefly but describes and describes the benefits of research to the reader.
The use of the debate can be divided into two: functional goals and individual
goals. Operational objectives are aimed more at the affected institutions from the
results of research papers to be made, namely the benefits of research are expected
to be able to become the basis for taking policies or decisions. The individual
goals of the benefits are more for individuals, namely to add knowledge,
recognition, and new experiences to studies that have not been studied before.
Make the right research title
The title is the initial concept, which is a reference for writing scientific
papers. The selection of titles is carried out according to the specialization or
research plan to be carried out. The title of a study must be able to describe
precisely and the focus and object of research. The claim must be able to describe
the contents of the study as a whole such as the type and nature of the research
subject, the object of research, the place of study and when the research was
conducted. The title of the survey must pay attention to the chosen approach,
which can be either quantitative or qualitative. Quantitative (data in the form of
numbers) while qualitative (data in the form of questions).
Some requirements that must be fulfilled in making good research titles
include:
- Mention the research variables.
- Mention the research analysis unit.
- Mention the location of the study.
- arranged as short as possible, which is limited to a maximum of 30 words.
- Using statement sentences.
In a study, Suyitno (2011) argues that there must be a topic or problem
underlying the research. After determining an issue that is the focus of research,
then researchers can assemble a good title according to the applicable rules. The
topic must be set first in compiling the research steps. Issues or problems are

things that will be discussed in the study. In essence, the item can be a
fundamental problem that requires further solving, explanation, description, and
affirmation.
The ways to determine the topic in a study are as follows:
- Research must be developing the field of the researcher.
- Useful for the community, especially in terms of research subjects.
- Knowing the fundamental nature of different types of research.
- A theme that is trending or is being discussed in the community.
- Data from topics is easy to obtain (Obtainable data).
- Issues are important enough to research (Significance of Topics)
