4. Proposals(continued)
I created a proposal for both the
my festival poster and my
magazine back page
advertisement. Each section of my
proposal is the planning and break
down process of the key features
that I needed to understand for
when I produce my products. The
main features consist of Style/
Approach, Aims and Objectives,
Target Audience and Campaign
Message; each of these objectives
are important in order for me to
create and present my final
products.
5. Campaign Message
āAn advertising campaign is a series of advertisement messages that share a single idea and theme which make up an integrated
marketing communication(IMC). Advertising campaigns are built to accomplish a particular objective or a set of objectives.ā
For both my festival poster and my magazine back page advertisement, I plan to use bright and vibrant colours that would be
eye-catching and visually appealing. With the colours that I am planning to use in both of my print based advertisements I want
each colour to have a purpose and meaning towards the aims and objectives of the festival; although I will be using colours that
symbolise a sunset as the name of my festival is so called āThe Golden Hourā, my objective is to use a sunset themed colour
scheme that would anchoring in the general public
The Unique Selling Point (USP) for my music festival poster and magazine back page is connote the colours used.
I plan go for the colour scheme of: White, Black, Deep Red, Dark Blue and Yellow, by which the red and yellow would symbolise
the warmth of a sunset, the dark blue to symbolise the evening sky and the white and black to symbolise the moon and stars.
As well as this colour scheme would link very well to my logo which I have created in Photoshop with the colours of orange, red,
yellow, black and white.
Inspired by the Panorama music festival poster, I aim to represent the idea that my āThe Golden Hourā music festival is to
encourage the general public about the opportunity that during the summer, they are able to seek enlightenment of music, art and
technology during the summer

Festival Poster
Logo Names
A specific logo name for my festival
poster would be focusing on āThe
Golden Hourā where the colours would
enhance the features within the poster.
My logo name would be engaging and
visually appealing through the font style
and layout on the page.
Slogan
For my festiva poster, I have chosen the
slogan āSleep all day, party all nightāā
I have decided on this as my slogan for my
festival poster as the name of the music
festival name is included and this would
encourage my targeted audience to the
advertisement.
Frequency
I have chosen the frequency of being a
yearly advertised print based media product;
where the event would take place during the
summer, and therefore the advertisement
would be produced and advertised at the
start of the year around mid-January.
Colour Schemes
Bold and contrasting colours that would enhance
the festival poster and make it stand out to my
targeted audience and engage the public.
I plan to use a mixture of both dark and light
colours in my advertisement.
I aim to use complementary colours that would
enhance the theme of the festival.
Target Audience/ Market
With my festival poster aimed at both the
male and female genders, I have chosen a
broad age range as this would engage the
likelihood between similar interests within
the festival.
I have chosen the age range of 18-35 for my
festival poster where this would allow the
possibility to interact and experience
entertainment through the festival.
Targeting the social grades of C1-E
because my music festival targets the
demographic to allow the relationship of
interests between a wide range of the
public.
Images
The background would have a gradient effect
that would cover the entire page; although a
main image would be included at the top or
the bottom of the festival poster that would
give life to the print based media product.
I plan to use a portrait as my main image for
my poster and links to the colour scheme.
Brand Identity
The marketing of my product would be
broad and have a strong base on the target
audienceās interests in music, fashion and
technology as well as benefit from the
experience.
The brand of the poster would have a strong
relationship with its target audience.
7. Print Based

Magazine: Backpage
advertisement
Slogan
For my magazine back page advertisement,
I have chosen the same slogan. I chose this
as my slogan for my music festival as the
exclamation mark is used to convey that the
slogan is a bold statement targeted towards
my audience and to engage them to attend
the music festival due to the main focus in
music and art.
Masthead
The focal point of the music festival āThe
Golden Hourā would be used as the
masthead to convey that the back page
advertisement is to advertise the festival
and convey the interests that it would
present.
Strapline
A brief line that would connote the
theme and the concept that the music
includes. I aim to cover the width of an
A4 page that would inform the public
about āThe Golden Hourā
Colour Schemes
In relation to my festival poster, I plan to
stay within the same colours schemes of
working with bright and bold
complementary colours that would
enhance the features of my print based
advertisement and appear visually
appealing to the public.
Target Audience
Similar to my poster, I aim to stay within
the same age range and demographic of
males and females aged 18-35. This is
because, my festival poster and
magazine back page advertisement
advertises both of the same interests in
both art and music.
Frequency
As the festival is a year-on-year event,
the advertisement of my backpage
would appear every month.
I have chosen a monthly frequency to
imply that the advertisement can remind
and inform the public about the event;
as well as consist of updates and
evidence with context and photos.
Images
I plan to at least include two main
images to enhance the bold title of the
music festival and convey the theme of
through the clothes work and the colour
scheme involved.
I plan to use a portrait and a full body for
my main images.
Additional Content
Including other features such as cover
lines, pull quote/ anchorage text and
barcode, will give the appearance that
the back page advertisement would
entertain and inform the public that the
festival is being advertised and targeted
to a specific demographic is different
print forms.
10. Steve Nealeās theory of Similarities and Difference where he states that all genres contain the elements of repetition and
difference; although difference is essential in the economy of genre.
Stating that āGenre does not refer just to the film type but to the spectators expectationsā, as well as suggesting āGenres are
about spectator-text relationshipā
Both these quotes imply that the Nealeās theory focuses on how much a film subverts the genresā conventions and stereotypes;
where the film must subvert convention enough to therefore be considered as unique and not a replication of the existing film.
Additionally, Neale states that the film and its genre can be defined by how much conformation to its genresā individual
conventions and stereotypes where the film must match the genresā conventions and is identified as being a part of that genre.
In terms of the Hollywood generic regime, Neales suggests that they should perform two functions
1. To guarantee pleasure and meaning for the audience
2. To offset financial risks in the film production by providing collateral against innovation and difference
Popular cinemas rely on their audience seeking pleasure in difference and
innovation for instance the recognition in familiar elements and how those
elements are linked in an unfamiliar way or a way that is considered
unfamiliar elements may be introduced.
Genre is constituted by specific systems of expectations and
hypothesis which spectators bring with them to the cinema and
which and which interact with the films themselves during the
course of the viewing process.

19. Font Style
https://www.designhill.com/design-blog/50-logo-fonts-every-designer-should-know-about/
https://www.dafont.com
As shown above, I have experimented with six different fonts from the website Dafont.com. I have decided to work and compare
these fonts between each other because and therefore understand which works for my festival poster, and which font style would
work for my magazine back page advertisement.
I have displayed the name of the font underneath the festival name to help me understand the appearance and outcome of how
the font style works with the name; I plan to use a font style that gives an 90s feel but is also visually appealing towards my target
audience. I am drawn to each font style with a different opinion as each font style would work with my print based media products
as this would depend on my colour scheme, layout and images used in my products. I am particularly drawn to the font styles
Hanna Monica and Didot for my magazine back page advertisement because of the simplicity and boldness in the text outcome,
whereas I am appealed to the font styles Neon 80s and Bellerose for my music festival poster because of how the letters have a
āstand outā appearance to them and work well for my poster.
20. Logo Design
My Inspiration My Logo Design
From the research I have done with my source of inspiration, I have
decided to create my own logo design that has been inspired by the
music festival Panorama.
I am inspired by the creativeness as to how the company uses a
outline of the world to symbolise the āOā, as well as the simplicity in
the font style to create that is then enhanced by their festival posters.
In Photoshop I used a sunset template to create the sunset effect for
my logo, then using the quick selection tool and the gradient tool, I
created this beautiful sunset effect.
To create the sponsorship name for my logo, I used the font style
āAndale Monoā and then adjusted the position and size.
I really like the final outcome of my product because of how simple
yet eye-catching the sunset logo is; the font style is also quite unique
and bold to the logo to represent the sponsoring company name and
suits the name of my festival āThe Golden Hour.
23. House Style
From the images that I have taken, I have decided to go with a bold colour scheme that would then make my print-based
media products stand out.
I have gone with the main two colours of white and black, by which I will be able to use in my products to amplify the
other main colours that I am planning to include in my Photoshop work.
Deciding on the three primary colours of red, blue and yellow as these colours would be useful for my products and
present the summer theme.
From the inspiration of Panorama music festival, they use bright bold colours that then contrast against the use of dark
tones in their images, posters and magazines front covers/ back page advertisement.
With this house style I am aiming to create two products that have the same objective of anchoring the general public;
particularly my target audience to the the interests in music, art and technology; this house will help me achieve this.
As in the example shown below, my source of inspiration from Panorama festival the poster uses bright and bold colours
that contrast against dark tones; and I aim to interpret and develop this idea further in Photoshop.
24. Main Headliners/ Artists
Keeping in mind on the artists and celebrities that would be included in my poster and magazine back page advertisement, I am
aiming to include popular celebrities and artists that would be well-known by todayās generation.
My aim to is to experiment with a variety of different globally known artists to therefore anchor in my target audience as well as
include names that would suit my summer festival theme; however my summer festival is based on beauty and creativity and
therefore the artists and guest celebrities must relate to my festival through the types of songs and the genre that their songs
have.
28. Risk Assessment
Photography Risk Assessment
Taking the photos for my festival poster in a photography was a bit of a risk as the studio was crowded with lighting, cameras and
camera stands and wires as well as some other props. The risk of taking my portrait photos in the photography studio was quite
high as the risk of minor injuries was high as well; this crowded space could cause a trip hazard of electric shocks due to exposed
sockets and wires when the power was on.
The risk of taking photos of my brother (Brian Insua) in the open woods was also a risk as the location as to where I took my
photos was on a steep hill slope as well as the ground was covered with leaves and we did not known that there were rocks and
sticks which resulted in a trip hazard.
Finally, the risk with taking photos of my brothers friends was located in Kingston Upon Thames near the boat area. This location
was a hazard because the photo was taken late in the afternoon however it was quite populated; as we were near the water areas
the risk of a trip hazard or accidently falling in by bumping into someone.
Area Risk Assessment
I had to make sure that the location of where I took my photos was at a decent time and that the location was decently/ less
populated to allow high quality photos.
Technical Software Risk Assessment
I made sure that the software that I will be using for editing my print based media products was functioning properly.
I also made sure that I brought a spare fully charged battery and a spare memory card to the locations of where I took my photos
and that my camera was working well; such as using a clean camera lens, using the correct lens and making sure that the setting
were set correctly.
30. Budgeting Summary
Usefulness to staying
within a specific budget
helped me understand
the pricing of the needed
equipment/ office space
that I needed to create
my print based media
products. However, I had
to keep in mind that
some needed equipment
was more expensive
than other factors.
I also had to keep in
mind the yearly salary
and the printing cost
rates for printing my
festival poster (A3) and
magazine back page
advertisement (A4)

32. Final Products - Festival Poster
Draft 1 Draft 2
With my first draft, I have created this in
Photoshop by following my graphic layout
idea as well as considering my festival
inspiration of Panorama. I have included
many popular artists and what time they
would be performing, and the location in
which they would be performing in the
idea location of Reading.
However with my second draft, I am
drawn the to the idea that I have included
less information by removing the times
and and changing the opacity of the box
to therefore bring more the main image
forward to the viewers.
Overall, I prefer the 2nd draft because
the layouts is more organised and not
being too crowded and by changing the
visibility of the box enhance the quality of
the main image and look more visually
appealing towards my targeted audience.
33. Final Products - Magazine Back page Advertisement
Draft 1 Draft 2
Creating my second
print-based product, I have
to create two drafts of my
back page advertisement
and experiment with main
the main image and the
cover line text box.
I have also included some
additional features such as
the price of the magazine
and the social media icons
for my festival and other
additional features that
would enhance my back
page advertisement
I personally prefer the
second draft, as the main
image is more creative with
the use of overlaying blue
eyeshadow and tinted red
lips which link to my house
style
34. Step-by-Step - Poster Step One
1. I first created a new document with the dimensions of 1080x1460 in Adobe Photoshop
2. However, I opened my main image first as it has the same dimensions of my needed canvas
3. My main images would be the base for my final poster product.

offensive language is acceptable: Although research has shown that people are more likely to tolerate offensive language if it is
based on āreal worldā situations.
44. Audio-Visual Advertisements
If I were to create an audio-visual advertisement, I
would consider advertising my festival through
popular social media websites; such as Youtube,
Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat
I would advertise pictures and videos that
advertise the music festival and updates both
print based media products. In addition, the use
of video that are advertised on many social media
platform would reach a large audience very
quickly and allow them to have a sneak peak on
the festival and the upcoming events that may
occur, as well as evidence of previous festival
events.
Considering my theme of the festival and the
house style that it follow, if I were to create an
audio-visual advertisement I would intend to use
the colour scheme to advertise the festival. The
advantage behind the large social media platform
would be a great advantage in advertising my
festival and the print based media products that
would entice the general public to the festival.

45. Proof-reading and Sub-editing
Here in my production plan,
I have also included the
topic of proofreading, where
an assigned team checks
the products before it is
advertised and printed.
46. Conclusion
From what I have learnt within this unit is that I have been able to present my work such as the planning analysis stage through
my Proposals and Photoshoot Plan; as well as shown my developing and production process with my Step-by-Step of my Festival
Poster and Magazine Back page Advertisement.
I have also been able to present my understand in a range of ideas and photoshop skills by creating two different drafts of my
poster and back page and relate to my house style and font style.
Overall, this unit has helped me present my understanding and knowledge in what I have learnt within this LO and within this unit
as a whole.
