The Election Of President Elect
Every four years, in early November, American's head to the polls to vote for the next president of the nation. After a lengthy two years of campaigning
and debating, America's votes were cast and Donald Trump became the nation's president elect. Interestingly, Trump did not win the popular vote, he
had two million less votes than his Democratic opposition, Hillary Clinton. Due to the use of the electoral college, Trump managed to win more states
and more battleground states than Clinton, and thus won the electoral college vote. This election and its results have been a whirlwind of emotions for
both Trump and Clinton supporters. Regardless of the outcome, the greatest part about knowing who the president elect is, is that this election has
finally come to a halt.
What is noteworthy about his campaign is that Donald Trump ran his differently from the average politician. Trump both acted differently and spoke of
people in whichever manner he pleased. Surprisingly, American's thrived off of his ability to stand tall and remain true to himself. The main argument
in this election between Clinton and Trump supporters was how they were more offended by Clinton's actions than Trump's words. No matter what
Trump said, his followers still thought of him in a positive manner.
First of all, Donald Trump ran his campaign, in the kindest of words, unconventionally. He had no filter in debates, in rallies and on his social media
platforms. While speaking one's mind honestly is a great

The Election Of Presidential Election
As election season draws closer, we see the candidates debate more and more. These debates are a huge part in the elections, but, there is another
debate that has had the hot seat since the 2000 election of Gore and Bush. In 2000, Democratic candidate Al Gore won the popular vote across the
United States, but, more controversy was created by the Republican candidate George W. Bushwinning the presidential election because he surpassed
the 270 electoral votes needed to win. An outcry arose from all across the country saying that the people's voices are not heard through the Electoral
College and that a true democratic country would allow for direct election of the President. So why did the founding fathers not allow a direct
election? And why hasn't the Electoral College been reformed yet if it is so bad? The answers are simple. Our founding fathers didn't allow for a
direct election because they were afraid that the voters would be not well enough informed about the candidates, a reform to the Electoral College
would mean a new amendment to the constitution, and because in all actuality, the Electoral College helps keep little states involved with the elections.
With today's technology and social media, the way candidates can reach voters far surpass that of how candidates had to reach voters in the 19th
century. So more voters should be better informed than that of voters in the 19th century; right? Although this is a very true statement and that the

Presidential Election : Presidential Elections
The 2016 presidential election may happen to be one of the most memorable elections to have ever been. From the campaign speeches, to the
Democratic and Republican National conventions, and even the presidential debates; Americans seemed to constantly be voicing their opinions on
every aspect of the election, and who they believe is the more suitable candidate for president, especially on social media. The 2016 presidential
election marks one of the more recent elections where we start to see social media's impact on it. We see how presidential candidates use social media
as a platform to voice about updates on their campaign as well as communicate with their supporters. With the continue rise in the number of social
media users as well as politicians now using social media, how much has its impact had on elections and Americans outlook on the campaign.
According to textbook 'Communication Theory', metatheory is the stated or inherent assumptions made when creating a theory. If you aren't familiar
with a theory's underlying assumptions about truth, human nature, the purpose of the theory, and its values, then a person can't fully understand a
theory. We'll see the studies of people who have implied metatheory on whether or not social media has had an effect on presidential elections. We
start to see social media's trans figurative impact back in the 2008 presidential election. J. Gregory concluded in his article 'Impact of Social Media in

The Elections Process And The American Election Process
For a citizen that follows and contributes to the American election process, one of the most important things to them is that they are being represented
properly. The whole reason a person votes in the first place is so that they can be represented in decisions being made within the government. If it
were not the job of elected officials to represent the people's word then voting would never happen. This is a hot topic because everyone wants to
make sure they are being represented fairly. There have been issues with how minorities, women, and even people of certain beliefs have been
represented. This paper is going to focus on the election process and how minorities are being represented in both negative and positive ways. One
way that representation can be diminished is through what is called "Minority Vote Dilution". Meaning, "it was harder for minorities to gain
representation" (Bowler & Segura. 2012.). A way to cause this is through the movement of district boundaries to make the votes unequal from district
to district. One way that this happens is through "Cracking" which is when particular voters are "spread among a series of districts in order to keep
them as small vote blocs within each seat" (Bowler & Segura. 2012.). What it really does is cause a certain minority group to seem smaller than they
actually are in the population make up. Another way to diminish a groups voting ability is by "packing" a certain unit of people. According to Bowler
& Segura this is a

The Election In The Election Of Liberia's Election
Liberia's 2017 election is set to be the first democratic transfer of power in decades (Pailey 2017). The election came after Ellen Johnson Sirleaf,
former president, was unable to run because of constitutionally mandated term limits. The pool of candidates shrunk from over one thousand to three
top candidates recently, with the runoff election being postponed for the time being. The three candidates to remain are George Weah, of Weah's
Coalition for Democratic Change, Joseph Boakai, Vice President, and Charles Brumskine of the Liberty Party. In the first vote, Weah received 39
percent of the vote, Boakai 29 percent, and Brumskine 10 percent. Candidates need over 50 percent to win in the first round, thus the run off. Weah is a

Brumskine's party goals include creating jobs, investing in infrastructure, reconciling the people, ensuring the rule of law, and fighting corruption
(Liberty Party Liberia 2017). The issues the people of Liberia are voting on are highly connected to the study of contemporary African politics. A
cornerstone of African politics is the history it is built on. The country of Liberia is still impacted by past colonial rule, civil war, and poor
governance. All of these are common for countries in Africa. A second important African election comes in the country of Rwanda. President Paul
Kagame recently won a third, seven–year term. He won with a 99 percent margin of victory (Baddorf 2017). His opponent was Frank Habineza, of the
Democratic Green Party. Habineza placed importance in environmental protections and allowing freedom of expression (afp 2017). Kagame's
platform, though sparse, vowed to strengthen the economy. Kagame's victory is tied to contemporary study of African politics in many ways. Kagame
is an excellent example of a leader whose personality has won him elections, resulting in elections for cult of personality rather than policy. Kagame is
credited with assisting in ending the Rwandan genocide by leading rebel forces (Baddorf 2017). Further, the international community supports Kagame
as he brought the country to stability after the

The Election Of The Last Election
Did you vote in the last election? Do you know anything about the people who were running? One of the main reasons why so many Americans don't
vote is because they think that their vote doesn't matter or won't make that much of a difference. The reality is this is not true, the lack of
understanding also plays a role is why some people just don't vote. After all, the next president doesn't just get picked overnight. The process is very
long and complicated, it includes three major issues which are touched on by several candidates coming from two different parties.
America runs on a two–party system consisting of republicans and democrats and for years these two parties have been going head–to–head for a seat
in the presidential election. An article from Gallup explains how the process actually works. It takes about 2 years to be placed into office starting from
the day a candidate announces that they are running. Before they actually face off election, primary elections are held. States vote among themselves
for which top candidate they want on the ballot. In open primaries voters don't have to be registered to a specific party to vote but must meet all other
basic voting requirements. Closed primaries must be registered with a party. Some states use community based voting, caucuses, where the rules vary
but voting is not always discreet. Once the primary voting is over the assigned state delegates, elected officials and political leaders, are sent to a

Aryan Rijal GOVT 2306 Professor Sharifian 02 November 2017 Cost to run for Office in Texas Running an office is not that easy and one who is
running office must spend a lot of money for it. During the time of elections, one spends more money to get the votes. At the time of campaigns lots
of money are spending to get one's vote and get victory. Each vote counts important to candidate, so he/she spends as money as they can and want to
get every possible vote in their favor. But spending a lot of money doesn't ensure one's victory. Looking to the last year'selection statistics of The Texas

The candidate must make a slogan in such a way that it will include majority of people's views. If I am the one who is running for the office, then my
slogan will be, "Let's Put Hands Together for The Difference". There are lots of politicians and have their own points of view, but I want to make
differences starting from the current political affairs and the problems that people facing in the present situation. I will mostly focus on the
crimes that are happening in today's date. We can hear gun shoot out in many places, killing people for some money, drugs selling and many other
crimes on daily basis. I will reach out the interest group like Texas NAACP, Texas Moratorium Network which can help me in my campaigns.
Another factor that can affect my campaigns is media. Media plays a vital role for the popularity of the office during the time of election and
maintain the good image of candidate in public. A candidate must have good relationship with the medias because media can create a good image
of candidates in the public. I will seek the help of newspaper like Daily News, USA Today, News Day and so on for my election campaigns because
they are the most selling newspaper till this date. I will ask some of the celebrities to help me in my campaigns. I will mostly prefer the top–rated
singers like Kim Kardashian, BeyoncГ©, Jay Z and so on because they can the most viewed celebrities and they can help me in my campaigns with

Essay On Partisan Elections
Texas has a controversial way of electing its judges. When Texas became a state in 1845, judges were appointed by the governor with Senate consent,
but since 1876, judges at all levels of courts have been elected by the people in partisan elections. The main problem with this system is partisan
elections lead to more campaign contributions and increased partisanship among judge which hinders fair and independent judiciary system.
Partisan primaries result in judicial candidates who are dependent on special interests for their election and also tend to force candidates to affiliate with
a political party.
As many other partisan elections, Texas judicial candidates need campaign donations of hundreds of thousands of dollars to reach their voters. The
concept of a judge accepting money from wealthy business groups and lawyers is wrong. lawyers' contributions may, in fact, influence court decisions.
Lawyers should not fear to lose a case because they did not give enough money to the right candidate.
Electing judges contradict the impartial and independent nature of the judicial system. Judges are not politicians. It is ... Show more content on

There four possible ways of reforming the system: Nonpartisan elections, Legislative election, Merit selection and Gubernatorial appointment.
Nonpartisan elections are similar to partisan election as judges will be elected directly by the people. However, in nonpartisan election candidates are
listed on the ballot without a label designating party affiliation. Nonpartisan elections can minimize the involvement of interest group in the
campaigning process. However, In the absence of party affiliation, issue–based campaigning will be popular. The other solution to Texas's judicial flaws
is a Legislative election. In this system, judges will be selected by the state legislature. In spite of that Legislative elections can potentially create a
judiciary primarily made up of past

The Elections Of South Carolina
Over the last few decades, we have seen a shift in voter participation, and involvement in the election arena rather it be national, state, and or local
levels. According to Time Magazine, 2014 mid–terms voter turnout was at a 72 year low. At only 36.4% of U.S, eligible voters voted in 2014
mid–terms, down from 40.9% that voted in 2010 mid–terms. Analyst views the decline as the "millennial generation" coming into effect, which clearly
indicates the age group (18–33) seems to have a significantly lower turnout rate compare to the older age groups. With less participation in state and
local elections, we now face decisions such as elections in South Carolina being cancelled if the incumbent as no challenge, according to Cindi Scoppe
associate editor at "The State". This doesn't provide ample explanation considering that the mid–terms elections do in fact represent a significant portion
of state–level elections, which ultimately allows individuals to experience policies being implemented at a much greater effect. So the questions arise
are we happy with single file candidates ascending to the elected office with no election? Is it the lack of interest or it doesn't matter who's in the seat?
What does this say about the public responsibility for electing these people as our representatives to make decisions that impact our daily lives?

3 Things to Keep in Mind for the Upcoming Presidential Election
1. Only about 10% of the entire nation voted for Trump OR Clinton
Yup, that's right, only about 10% of the entire nation voted for Donald Trump OR Hilary Clinton, yet they are still the Presidential Candidates from
the Republican and Democratic Parties. How? In the presidential primaries Donald Trump won the state of Alabama with roughly 43% of all the
voters. However, only .3% of registered voters voted for him at all. In a state of 4.8 million, only 14000 voted. In Tennessee, Hillary won with 66% of
3.7% of the total registered. While substantially higher than Trump's Alabama win, it is still an unacceptably low turnout for thevoting of the possible

Third party voters are sometime the difference between a victory and a loss for a presidential candidate. Most don't mention it, but you do have power.
Each and every vote counts. While a 3rd might not win the election, they still impact it. Al Gore would have won the 2000 presidential election if he
had received 1% of the votes that Ralph Nader, Green Party Presidential Nominee, received. 3rd party voters helped to give the win to George W.
Bush. Not only do 3rd party voters impact who wins the election, but they can convince candidates to change their platforms. Candidates want
voters, a handful of voters can mean the difference between a Republican President or a Democratic President. In order to get these key voters,
they change the way they phrase responses, comments, and their general speech. For example, take Donald Trump. Just listen to how his tone
changes between each debate, every appearance, even between every tweet. He's trying to secure key groups to his victory that would normally
vote 3rd party or not vote at all. However, if you don't like the changes either candidate has made and still feel as if this is a "lesser of the two evils"
election, then vote 3rd party. Who knows? Maybe Gary Johnson will be this winner, all it requires is for you to actually register and

Presidential Elections : Presidential Election
Over the past seven decades, this nation's voter turnout has been dismal. The presidential election in 2012 had a voter turnout of about 57.5%. That
means a little over half of the voter population did not voice their opinion on who should be the nation's president for the next four years in the voting
booth. If this continues, there will be a president whom the general public may not want but could have prevented if all they did was vote. However,
the upcoming presidential election seems to be different from previous elections just due to the massive amount of attention it is receiving in the media.

He has expressed his beliefs on improving the middle class and disempowering the influence corporate America has in politics. The American people
have seen this and it shows in the polls as well as the donations Bernie receives. His campaign is funded by the American people and is not funded by
the billionaire class like other presidential candidates.
Bernie was invited to hold a convocation at Liberty University, a conservative university that is normally visited by Republicans who share the
similar views to the students. During the event, he states: "It is very easy for a candidate to speak to people who hold the same views. It's harder but
important to reach out to others who look at the world differently." This is the type of attitude that is required for a president, or arguably any person
in life, since not everyone in the world will hold the same viewpoint as you. It is through discussing each person's view that some common ground can
be made and only then can progress can be made on the issues that matter.
In 1962, Bernie Sanders was arrested for protesting segregation in public schools when he attended the University of Chicago. That was only the
beginning of his fight against racial inequality in America and addresses this issue in four fields: physical, political, legal, and economic. One of the
biggest issues outlined in this field is the level of incarceration this nation faces,

2012 Presidential Elections
The results of both the 2004 and 2012 Presidential elections were the same as both incumbents were able to capitalize on the voters being comfortable
with them. Additional, since both incumbents had access to national assets, four years of on the job training, and "insider information" they were able
to speak in–depth on a wide range of issues both foreign and domestic. In 2004, the largest and most important issue to the nation was the war in Iraqi
and in 2012 it was the nation's economy. Given the incumbents access to firsthand information on the issues at large, they were able to weaken their
opponents in the nation's eyes by dismantling the candidate's strategies on the issues. History has shown that nations trend to focus more on domestic...

Campaign Strategies used by the incumbents in both the 2004 and 2012 presidential elections were direct and aggressive, using media outlets to launch
phased targeting to discredit candidates by highlighting indecisiveness and lacking of understand on controversial issues. In both elections the
candidates that successful used the media were able to garnered support from nation as they were able to stay steps ahead of their opponents, forcing
them to constantly defend themselves and legalize their campaigns. For example, President Obama used ads to undermine Mitt Romney's time running
the investment firm Bain Capital (strength of Romney's campaign) against him, stating that because of Mitt Romney's time at Bain he would be unable
to relate to average. This forced Romney to alter his campaign strategy as more Americans began to question Romney stance on multiple issues,
especially taxes, during an election in which the primary issue was the nation's economy. Similar strategies were utilized in the 2004 and 2012
elections, giving the incumbents a huge advantage from day one. When you combine the election results and campaign strategy with the voter turnout
with only a 2–5 percent difference in voting age population turnout, it is clear why both elections resulted in the incumbent being reelected. I believe
that the nation applied the old saying, "if it is not broke, then don't fix it" during both the 2004 and 2012 presidential

Presidential Elections And Election Elections
Political elections, especially presidential elections have many variables that influence the voters when they go to the polls. Many researchers use
various methods to figure out all the possible outcomes of the election and what the voters are looking for in a particular year. This year has been
unique because of the different personalities that the candidates own. This new diversity has caused researchers to revise their tactics from earlier
years. Also, negative political ads for this election year have had some impact on voters. Furthermore, a candidate's religious affiliation will also have an
effect on different segments of the population. Finally, in previous presidential elections, divided parties rarely won presidential elections. Will this year
have the same end result? Finally, the exact effects caused by these variables can sometimes only be determined byresearch studies. These studies have
to be ready to hit the core of the issue affecting the outcome. Furthermore, the questions have to be tailored, balanced and presented the same way in all
outlets.
Multitude of Media Outlets
Voting for the next President of the United States is very important in our country. In our society today voters want to know if the next President will

become more accepting of immigrants and hold much more favorable opinions towards immigrants than they did before 1965. This change in attitudes
towards immigrants was evident in the change in campaigning techniques from the 1968 presidential campaign to the 2008 and 2012 presidential

Schwartz and Troianovski (2015), reporters for The Wall Street Journal, claim that many residents of the U.S. fear that the terrorist group ISIS will

this has not been confirmed to be the workings of a foreign terrorist group (Karimi, Shoichet, & Ford, 2015), American citizens are becoming
increasingly in favor of restricting immigration. In a December 2015 survey conducted by the Associated Press, 53% of respondents opposed the
Obama administration's plan to admit Syrian refugees into the U.S. and 54% believed that the U.S. takes too many immigrants from the Middle East

decrease, the increasing number of Syrian refugees entering the U.S. in 2016 and 2017 will offset this. The number of immigrants voting in future

The midterm elections of 2014 brought a measly 36.3 percent of all eligible American voters to the polls. A low of this proportion has not been

in the United States having steadily decreased over recent decades. The 2012 election only brought 53.6 percent of eligible voters to the polls. When

Rarely successful in electoral victory, nonetheless, many accomplished their goals by serving as protest statements and rallying points and by
making an influence (Schneider 1200). Minor parties have majorly influenced political and social changes. Abolition, child labor laws,
prohibition, women's suffrage, direct election of senate members and the minimum wage all have their origins in third party movements (Cramm,
Ness XIX). Many of these ideas were left unconsidered or unfavored by either of the major parties and had it not been for the influence of third
parties, who is to say what our country would be today. Professor Frances Fox Piven writes "Third parties can breathe life into American politics,
stirring the political enthusiasm of groups that are ordinarily marginalized and ignored, and reinvigorating belief in democracy with bold proposals
for reforms" and "they are the agencies that bring to life the deep reciprocity and interdependence between voters and the state on which the
democratic idea rests." (as cited in Ness, XIII) This calls to mind the intended purpose of political parties in a democracy. They fill the void between
the governed individuals and the government. They empower voters, and amplify the voices of the people. That is, of course, if they are doing their

Partisan Elections
In the following essay I will be talking about the disadvantages and advantages of partisan elections for state politics. I will also examine the last
couple year's election results and costs. Finally, I will discuss if partisanship made a difference in the vote, as well as if a judge should be decided by
partisan vote. In the next couple paragraphs I will talk more specifically about these topics.
First, let's talk about the advantages of partisan elections compared to nonpartisan elections. It makes voting a lot faster because the people can just go

Secondly, I will now talk about the disadvantages of having a partisan election. First, partisan elections cost a lot more money than nonpartisan
elections, because in nonpartisan elections you do not have to campaign. The voters must do their own research on the candidates and makes the voter
actually think and know why they are going to vote. A bad thing about this though would be time. Not everybody has time to go out and do research
on candidates, because most people work eight or more hour shifts at work and then they do not want to go out and do research. Another disadvantage
would be I think there is " too much" information out there for the candidates, which ends up confusing the voter instead of benefiting. This makes it
harder when coming to vote, so many people will just mark anything because they do not care. These would be one the biggest disadvantages of
partisan elections to me in state politics.
I will now examine some of last election year's results. Voter turnout has decreased in the past years. There are two main factors that have been coming
up in the past years. First, many citizens say that who is elected in office is not as important as it once was. Secondly, younger Americans are more
cynical and disconnected from politics than ever. I think there is too much information out there and another thing that might be the reason this is

Democratic Election : Presidential Election
In this Presidential Election, the Republican Party is a disadvantage in Florida due to the large concentrations of voters in major cities. The majority
of the state votes for the Republican candidate, but big cities like Miami, Orlando, and Tampa always seem to vote for the Democratic candidate. In
the 2012 election between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama, Mitt Romney won all but thirteen counties but lost in majorly in the urban areas where
Barack Obama won an astonishing number of the votes. For Donald Trump to stand a chance, he must focus on the rural cities with a large number of
Conservative and Independent voters and has a low voter turnout.
The number one county Donald Trump must focus on is Sarasota County. Even with almost one hundred and twenty thousand registered republican
voters during the 2012 election, Romney still only was able to carry fifty–two percent of the votes in that county. This is a very populated county filled
with republican voters who have a low turnout rate in previous elections. Money should be pumped into Sarasota to help increase voter turnout for the
Trump Pence campaign. With a large push to get Republican voters to come out and vote Donald could win a bunch of solid votes to offset some of
the counties he will struggle in.
The largest group of counties that should be focused on are the counties of; Collier, Martin, Indian River, Escambia, Lake, Highlands, Citrus, Marion,

The Controversial Election The 2016 Presidential election forces American voters to pick between the lesser of two evils. With the future of the
country at stake, there must be numerous hours invested into researching the best candidate to potentially run the country for the next eight years.
Each presidency term shapes the past and future whether it be good or bad. This election will be no different. Donald Trump's views including
lowering corporate taxes to have economic growth, as well as, people on the terror watch list should not be allowed to buy guns, and the repealing of
Obamacare to replace it with Health Savings Accounts give Americans sufficient reasoning to elect him for the next president. Trump guarantees he

Government Essay Assignment – Elections
Every four years, the citizens of America migrate to their respective polling locations and cast their vote. On this important day, the second Tuesday of
November, the next President of the United States is elected. Thosen to lead the country is by proxy the leader of the free world; the election of the
United States President is a deeply historical event. The actual decision, though, does not come as easily as one would think. Yes, people sometimes
vote blindly along party lines, but there is a whole host of variables that can influence a voter's decision, and, largely, the outcome of an entire election.
Such variables include the issues at hand, party preferences, polling results and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kennedy. Kennedy, a wealthy, Harvard–educated Catholic, s USSR's surging economy and the importance of foreign policy. Nixon spoke of a
"brighter future" and Kennedy boasted a "new frontier." These close similarities "forced the campaigns to seek out other differences". Like the 1948
election, several faux–pas plagued the Republican camp. Eisenhower, under whom Nixon was Vice–President at the time, accidentally slighted Nixon.
He was asked what major decisions Nixon had helped influence. In attempt to curtail a press conference, Eisenhower replied "if you give me a
week, I might think of one" ("Road to Camelot"). Though not intended to harm Nixon at all, this hurt the election. The media played a huge role in
this election. The 1960 Presidential debate, aside from being the first ever televised, was a deciding factor. Nixon, who was weary from campaigning
and a knee injury, looked haggard and old in front of the camera. This was exacerbated by the fact that he refused to wear makeup and that his suit
blended in with the backdrop. Kennedy, however, owned the camera. This brought up an interesting result; "When the debate ended, a large majority of
television viewers recogniates that, although not necessarily a better rhetorician, Kennedy used his young image to win the hearts of viewers. In the

Presidential Election : Election Cycle Essay
Regardless of an individual's political enthusiasm, the 2016 election cycle was one of, if not the most widely discussed election cycles in the history of
the United States. Citizens and non– citizens from across the globe seemed to voice their opinions about either presidential candidate at one point or
the other, the same goes for various House and Senatorial, except on a smaller scale. This essay will focus on the outcomes of the 2016 general elections
thought an in–depth analysis of the following criteria; who voted for the candidates in the presidential and senatorial races, what was the reasoning
behind their vote, when these individuals decide to vote, where the voters came out to vote and how that differed from previous election cycles and
finally why this election cycle was so unique in its predictions and outcomes. For the 'who' aspect of this election cycle, we need to analyze those
individuals who participated in the November election, more specifically, those who reside in one of the biggest electoral states in the union,
Florida. Along with who participated, we will look into how the candidates and special interest groups mobilized to shape the outcome of the state in
comparison to pervious election cycles. According to the 2010 census, Florida, with its approximate population of 20 million people possess 29
electoral votes, or roughly 10% of what is needed to win the White House. Florida is branded the quintessential 'swing state' for it ability to sway or

behavior on the increasing rise of the American Independent voter choice and voter turnout in the 2016 United States Presidential Election? By
extension, how do independents differ in part from the two major partisan ties of the Democratic and Republican parties?
As per the United States voting framework, an independent voter is a non–fanatic electorate who is not subsidiary with a specific political gathering.
Independents can either be immaculate or inclining. Inclining Independents tend to vote for the gathering they incline more towards along these lines
they are mostly divided in that sense. Immaculate

Are Elections Rugged Or Rigged?
There has been controversy over whether or not the United States' elections are rigged; this theory came up again when Donald Trump claimed that
John Podesta, a chairman on Hillary Clinton's campaign, rigged the polls as a voter suppression technique on October 24, 2016 (Qiu). This isn't the
first time the elections authenticity has been questioned; when we think "rigged," it is normally referring to accusations of direct voter fraud or in
which the results were procedurally contested, extensively protested, or recognized as fraudulent by a reliable international organization (Wikipedia
Contributors). In fact, in the past the polls have been rigged. There have been multiple cases in the United States where the presidential election was
under scrutiny dating back to 1793 all the way up to 2004 (Wikipedia Contributors). Despite Trump's claim and the couple incident where it has
happened, it is pretty impossible to actually "rig" an election with voter fraud. But, this does not mean that an election has never been rigged; they are
rigged to an extent but not how Trump claimed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order for it to be considered "rigged" there has to be an intentional manipulation of the result away from what it would have been if the votes had
been counted properly. In short, it's becoming extensively harder to rig an election with the progression of technology; but technology can be meddled
with too. In Maryland and Illinois in 2014, voters claimed that when selecting their choice, a republican, the voting machine either did not allow them
to select their republican nomination or would move the check mark into the democratic nominee

Fifteen years ago, President George Bush won the presidential election beating Al Gore, who had won the popular vote. This election is one of the
most contested in this century. The same election is also an example of the United States Electoral College voting system in action. The Electoral
College permits a candidate to win a presidential election without winning the popular vote. The American campaign and election system can be

In addition to nomination issues, there are campaign fund issues. As described by Paul Steinhauser and Robert Yoon's article, "Cost to Win
Congressional Election Skyrockets," for CNN, the cost to win congressional elections is rising steeply. Steinhauser and Yoon explain that on average
it costs $1.6 million to win a House seat, which, after accounting for inflation, is 344% more than in 1986. Steinhauser and Yoon also emphasize that
in the House of Representatives, incumbents outspend their challengers by an average ratio of $3 for every $1 the challenger spends. Senate
incumbents on average outspend their challengers by $3.5 million. The authors also explain that in 2012 outside groups spent $457 million on
congressional elections. An outside group could be a group or individual, for example a PAC (Political Action Committee) or a wealthy individual.
Ashley Parker relates her article, "Outside Money Drives a Deluge of Political Ads," in The New York Times to the influx in spending by outside
groups. She explains that political spending for advertising is increasing rapidly compared to past elections. Parker also emphasizes that outside groups
buy more advertisement time than the candidates themselves. She concludes her article by emphasizing that soon enough political advertisements are
going to start airing on TV right after November elections, this is some two years before the next vote. Equally important

The Election Sociology
How Sociology Influenced the Election
On November 8, 2016, the United States was filled with mixed emotions from the outcome of the presidential election. For many, the results of the
election were shocking because the candidates in this election were so different. The final votes were very close, but the results showed that Donald
Trump would be the next President of the United States. When looking at the election, people focus on the how many votes their candidate received.
However, many people do not look past just the vote itself. By this I mean, they do not realize the sociological concepts that play into the election. By

Sociology defines education as " the social institution through which society provides its members with important knowledge, including basic
facts, job skills, and cultural norms and values" (Macionis 467). This platform is very important for all parties because it impacts the future of
America, and the education in America is held to a high standard. When the voting data was broken down into different amounts of education per
vote, the results were close. The data showed that 51 percent of people who had a high school degree or less, and 52 percent of people who had at
least some college voted for Trump. The rest of the votes for Hillary came from 49 percent of college graduates and 58 percent of postgraduates. To
further this data, it was compared to race and gender. The results showed that race over powered education, and that there were more white college
graduates and whites with no degrees that voted for Trump. When this data was compared to gender, it showed that white educated women were the
outliers. In other words, white college graduates who are women all voted for

Funding In Elections
American elections have always been supported by private money. These funds have come from the American people, special interest groups, and
business. The funding amounts that the last two can give exceed what most Americans can give. As a result, politician frequently find themselves
beholden to those who can give the most money–wealthy donors, special interests, and business. This has caused many civic groups and political
reformists to advocate public funding of elections. Such public funding is a good idea for three reasons. First, elected officials should represent the best
interests of the people. Wealthy donors and special interests may influence the vote of representatives by offering campaign support or threatening to

Presentation Of The Presidential Election

Task A:
Tuesday, November 8, 2016 will be the 58 quadrennial US presidential election. Over the last 58 elections, never has there been a more controversial
topic to speaks about. From the issues that are being debated about, to the Presidential candidates themselves. This year 's' Presidential race has been
closely monitored by people from all different demographics. The issues debated will not only have an impact on the United States, but they will have
an even bigger impact on other countries all over the world. An estimated 50 million people are projected to vote on November 8, 2016, and 58% of
Americans between the ages of 18–24 will be voting in this year 's election. These number can play a huge part in determining who will be the next
President of the United States. There are four primary candidates for the 2016 Presidential election are, but only two of them are gaining so much
attention. Never has there been an electoral race that contains so much dislike for the top nominees. The race between Hillary Clinton and Donald
Trump has caused many Americans to question whether or not they should vote with their party, or to start looking into other candidates who they
might view as a better fit for President. Millennials in particular have been really outspoken about the subject. According to an article in fortune.com "

The Election Of The Uk
In this essay, I will discuss whether elections in the UK are fair. The viewpoint which I will be arguing for is viewpoint two: we need to make some
sensible adjustments to elections by, for example, encouraging people to vote electronically in order to discourage fraud but shouldn 't change much
else other than that. I will also evaluate the other viewpoints and why I do not believe these viewpoints are the key to making UK elections fairer and
more just . As of now, the UK uses the first–past–the–post system in their elections; this means that the candidate with the most votes becomes the MP
for their constituency.
One sensible adjustment that I believe is necessary is lowering the voting age to 16. Currently, the voting age is 18. I think this makes elections unfair
as young adults are being excluded from influencing the decision hence making the outcome of the election affect their lives the most. For example,
young adults are massively affected by government education policies, I think they have a right to choose which candidate best represents their views
and gives them the opportunity to achieve the best future possible. Some people might argue that 16 and 17–year–olds are not responsible enough to
make the right decisions in regard to who to elect; a candidate which would best benefit them in the future . However, some would say that young
adults are unaware of the realm of politics and would not be able to make a suitable decision for the country as a whole or

Election system is one of the most important features of a country's political system. It symbolizes some inner concept of a political system of a nation.
I have chosen election system of US government to discuss and compare with that of Bangladesh. Both of these countries have some unique style of
election procedure. That has made it really interesting for the learner of both systems to contrast and evaluate their own respective election system and

There are 538 Electoral College, composed of 435 House member, 100 senator and 3 votes from District of Columbia. A candidate needs at least
270 electoral votes to be elected as a president. The election campaign is really lengthy. The constitution does not give any guide line how to
nominate a candidate for US presidential election. The Democratic Party has a nationwide policy for determining candidate. The Republican Party
allows each state to determine their own way to select candidate. When Bangladesh was united with present Pakistan, former president of Pakistan
Ayub Khan introduced a system of presidential election called Basic democracy. That was almost similar to the presidential election system of USA.
But mass people of Bangladesh did not accept that system as the electors were corrupted. They did not reflect the wish of popular vote. So this
system did not worked in Bangladesh. In USA the founder father thought that people are not wise enough to elect the right candidate. That is why they
wanted to have a system where there will some sorts of control over people's choice of candidates. They also thought people from different states may
not agree to on a single person to choose as a president. That is why they felt the requirement to have an election system that will balance the situation.

The Election Of The United States
None of the Above
For the election of the President of the United States of America there should be an option of "No–Confidence" or "None of the Above" as a selection
on the ballot because the voters should have the right to indicate that the listed candidates are unacceptable, then the National parties should find and
present new candidates that are more acceptable to the American public if neither can win a majority vote.
I will explain how the current system for a presidential election is flawed in that if the political parties present candidates for the election which a voter
finds unacceptable, the voter is reduced to voting for the candidate that they dislike the least or voting for a third party candidate which they know
can't win. In other words, in a two party system, they are voting for the lesser of two evils, or throwing away their vote as a protest on a third party
candidate. An option of "None of the Above" could paint a clear picture of growing voter dissatisfaction and encourage the parties to clean up their acts
or even force them to present better candidates in new election.
In the current system a voter can write in "None of the Above" but few do. They just choose to vote for one of the third party candidates as a protest
or a display of dissatisfaction for the candidates presented by the two major parties. This is not only a vote that is thrown away, but is also
misrepresents the true voting percentages. For example, let's say that the election shows

The Election Of President Elect

  • 1. The Election Of President Elect Every four years, in early November, American's head to the polls to vote for the next president of the nation. After a lengthy two years of campaigning and debating, America's votes were cast and Donald Trump became the nation's president elect. Interestingly, Trump did not win the popular vote, he had two million less votes than his Democratic opposition, Hillary Clinton. Due to the use of the electoral college, Trump managed to win more states and more battleground states than Clinton, and thus won the electoral college vote. This election and its results have been a whirlwind of emotions for both Trump and Clinton supporters. Regardless of the outcome, the greatest part about knowing who the president elect is, is that this election has finally come to a halt. What is noteworthy about his campaign is that Donald Trump ran his differently from the average politician. Trump both acted differently and spoke of people in whichever manner he pleased. Surprisingly, American's thrived off of his ability to stand tall and remain true to himself. The main argument in this election between Clinton and Trump supporters was how they were more offended by Clinton's actions than Trump's words. No matter what Trump said, his followers still thought of him in a positive manner. First of all, Donald Trump ran his campaign, in the kindest of words, unconventionally. He had no filter in debates, in rallies and on his social media platforms. While speaking one's mind honestly is a great ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. The Election Of Presidential Election As election season draws closer, we see the candidates debate more and more. These debates are a huge part in the elections, but, there is another debate that has had the hot seat since the 2000 election of Gore and Bush. In 2000, Democratic candidate Al Gore won the popular vote across the United States, but, more controversy was created by the Republican candidate George W. Bushwinning the presidential election because he surpassed the 270 electoral votes needed to win. An outcry arose from all across the country saying that the people's voices are not heard through the Electoral College and that a true democratic country would allow for direct election of the President. So why did the founding fathers not allow a direct election? And why hasn't the Electoral College been reformed yet if it is so bad? The answers are simple. Our founding fathers didn't allow for a direct election because they were afraid that the voters would be not well enough informed about the candidates, a reform to the Electoral College would mean a new amendment to the constitution, and because in all actuality, the Electoral College helps keep little states involved with the elections. With today's technology and social media, the way candidates can reach voters far surpass that of how candidates had to reach voters in the 19th century. So more voters should be better informed than that of voters in the 19th century; right? Although this is a very true statement and that the information about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Presidential Election : Presidential Elections The 2016 presidential election may happen to be one of the most memorable elections to have ever been. From the campaign speeches, to the Democratic and Republican National conventions, and even the presidential debates; Americans seemed to constantly be voicing their opinions on every aspect of the election, and who they believe is the more suitable candidate for president, especially on social media. The 2016 presidential election marks one of the more recent elections where we start to see social media's impact on it. We see how presidential candidates use social media as a platform to voice about updates on their campaign as well as communicate with their supporters. With the continue rise in the number of social media users as well as politicians now using social media, how much has its impact had on elections and Americans outlook on the campaign. According to textbook 'Communication Theory', metatheory is the stated or inherent assumptions made when creating a theory. If you aren't familiar with a theory's underlying assumptions about truth, human nature, the purpose of the theory, and its values, then a person can't fully understand a theory. We'll see the studies of people who have implied metatheory on whether or not social media has had an effect on presidential elections. We start to see social media's trans figurative impact back in the 2008 presidential election. J. Gregory concluded in his article 'Impact of Social Media in 2012 Presidential Election' ... • 4. The Elections Process And The American Election Process For a citizen that follows and contributes to the American election process, one of the most important things to them is that they are being represented properly. The whole reason a person votes in the first place is so that they can be represented in decisions being made within the government. If it were not the job of elected officials to represent the people's word then voting would never happen. This is a hot topic because everyone wants to make sure they are being represented fairly. There have been issues with how minorities, women, and even people of certain beliefs have been represented. This paper is going to focus on the election process and how minorities are being represented in both negative and positive ways. One way that representation can be diminished is through what is called "Minority Vote Dilution". Meaning, "it was harder for minorities to gain representation" (Bowler & Segura. 2012.). A way to cause this is through the movement of district boundaries to make the votes unequal from district to district. One way that this happens is through "Cracking" which is when particular voters are "spread among a series of districts in order to keep them as small vote blocs within each seat" (Bowler & Segura. 2012.). What it really does is cause a certain minority group to seem smaller than they actually are in the population make up. Another way to diminish a groups voting ability is by "packing" a certain unit of people. According to Bowler & Segura this is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Election In The Election Of Liberia's Election Liberia's 2017 election is set to be the first democratic transfer of power in decades (Pailey 2017). The election came after Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former president, was unable to run because of constitutionally mandated term limits. The pool of candidates shrunk from over one thousand to three top candidates recently, with the runoff election being postponed for the time being. The three candidates to remain are George Weah, of Weah's Coalition for Democratic Change, Joseph Boakai, Vice President, and Charles Brumskine of the Liberty Party. In the first vote, Weah received 39 percent of the vote, Boakai 29 percent, and Brumskine 10 percent. Candidates need over 50 percent to win in the first round, thus the run off. Weah is a popular... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Brumskine's party goals include creating jobs, investing in infrastructure, reconciling the people, ensuring the rule of law, and fighting corruption (Liberty Party Liberia 2017). The issues the people of Liberia are voting on are highly connected to the study of contemporary African politics. A cornerstone of African politics is the history it is built on. The country of Liberia is still impacted by past colonial rule, civil war, and poor governance. All of these are common for countries in Africa. A second important African election comes in the country of Rwanda. President Paul Kagame recently won a third, seven–year term. He won with a 99 percent margin of victory (Baddorf 2017). His opponent was Frank Habineza, of the Democratic Green Party. Habineza placed importance in environmental protections and allowing freedom of expression (afp 2017). Kagame's platform, though sparse, vowed to strengthen the economy. Kagame's victory is tied to contemporary study of African politics in many ways. Kagame is an excellent example of a leader whose personality has won him elections, resulting in elections for cult of personality rather than policy. Kagame is credited with assisting in ending the Rwandan genocide by leading rebel forces (Baddorf 2017). Further, the international community supports Kagame as he brought the country to stability after the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Election Of The Last Election Did you vote in the last election? Do you know anything about the people who were running? One of the main reasons why so many Americans don't vote is because they think that their vote doesn't matter or won't make that much of a difference. The reality is this is not true, the lack of understanding also plays a role is why some people just don't vote. After all, the next president doesn't just get picked overnight. The process is very long and complicated, it includes three major issues which are touched on by several candidates coming from two different parties. America runs on a two–party system consisting of republicans and democrats and for years these two parties have been going head–to–head for a seat in the presidential election. An article from Gallup explains how the process actually works. It takes about 2 years to be placed into office starting from the day a candidate announces that they are running. Before they actually face off election, primary elections are held. States vote among themselves for which top candidate they want on the ballot. In open primaries voters don't have to be registered to a specific party to vote but must meet all other basic voting requirements. Closed primaries must be registered with a party. Some states use community based voting, caucuses, where the rules vary but voting is not always discreet. Once the primary voting is over the assigned state delegates, elected officials and political leaders, are sent to a national ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Essay On Partisan Elections Texas has a controversial way of electing its judges. When Texas became a state in 1845, judges were appointed by the governor with Senate consent, but since 1876, judges at all levels of courts have been elected by the people in partisan elections. The main problem with this system is partisan elections lead to more campaign contributions and increased partisanship among judge which hinders fair and independent judiciary system. Partisan primaries result in judicial candidates who are dependent on special interests for their election and also tend to force candidates to affiliate with a political party. As many other partisan elections, Texas judicial candidates need campaign donations of hundreds of thousands of dollars to reach their voters. The concept of a judge accepting money from wealthy business groups and lawyers is wrong. lawyers' contributions may, in fact, influence court decisions. Lawyers should not fear to lose a case because they did not give enough money to the right candidate. Electing judges contradict the impartial and independent nature of the judicial system. Judges are not politicians. It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There four possible ways of reforming the system: Nonpartisan elections, Legislative election, Merit selection and Gubernatorial appointment. Nonpartisan elections are similar to partisan election as judges will be elected directly by the people. However, in nonpartisan election candidates are listed on the ballot without a label designating party affiliation. Nonpartisan elections can minimize the involvement of interest group in the campaigning process. However, In the absence of party affiliation, issue–based campaigning will be popular. The other solution to Texas's judicial flaws is a Legislative election. In this system, judges will be selected by the state legislature. • 9. The Elections Of South Carolina Over the last few decades, we have seen a shift in voter participation, and involvement in the election arena rather it be national, state, and or local levels. According to Time Magazine, 2014 mid–terms voter turnout was at a 72 year low. At only 36.4% of U.S, eligible voters voted in 2014 mid–terms, down from 40.9% that voted in 2010 mid–terms. Analyst views the decline as the "millennial generation" coming into effect, which clearly indicates the age group (18–33) seems to have a significantly lower turnout rate compare to the older age groups. With less participation in state and local elections, we now face decisions such as elections in South Carolina being cancelled if the incumbent as no challenge, according to Cindi Scoppe associate editor at "The State". This doesn't provide ample explanation considering that the mid–terms elections do in fact represent a significant portion of state–level elections, which ultimately allows individuals to experience policies being implemented at a much greater effect. So the questions arise are we happy with single file candidates ascending to the elected office with no election? Is it the lack of interest or it doesn't matter who's in the seat? What does this say about the public responsibility for electing these people as our representatives to make decisions that impact our daily lives? Only about 10% of the entire nation voted for Trump OR Clinton Yup, that's right, only about 10% of the entire nation voted for Donald Trump OR Hilary Clinton, yet they are still the Presidential Candidates from the Republican and Democratic Parties. How? In the presidential primaries Donald Trump won the state of Alabama with roughly 43% of all the voters. However, only .3% of registered voters voted for him at all. In a state of 4.8 million, only 14000 voted. In Tennessee, Hillary won with 66% of 3.7% of the total registered. Third party voters are sometime the difference between a victory and a loss for a presidential candidate. Most don't mention it, but you do have power. Each and every vote counts. While a 3rd might not win the election, they still impact it. Al Gore would have won the 2000 presidential election if he had received 1% of the votes that Ralph Nader, Green Party Presidential Nominee, received. 3rd party voters helped to give the win to George W. Bush. Not only do 3rd party voters impact who wins the election, but they can convince candidates to change their platforms. Candidates want voters, a handful of voters can mean the difference between a Republican President or a Democratic President. In order to get these key voters, they change the way they phrase responses, comments, and their general speech. For example, take Donald Trump. Just listen to how his tone changes between each debate, every appearance, even between every tweet. He's trying to secure key groups to his victory that would normally vote 3rd party or not vote at all. • 11. Presidential Elections : Presidential Election Over the past seven decades, this nation's voter turnout has been dismal. The presidential election in 2012 had a voter turnout of about 57.5%. That means a little over half of the voter population did not voice their opinion on who should be the nation's president for the next four years in the voting booth. If this continues, there will be a president whom the general public may not want but could have prevented if all they did was vote. Bernie was invited to hold a convocation at Liberty University, a conservative university that is normally visited by Republicans who share the similar views to the students. This is the type of attitude that is required for a president, or arguably any person in life, since not everyone in the world will hold the same viewpoint as you. It is through discussing each person's view that some common ground can be made and only then can progress can be made on the issues that matter. In 1962, Bernie Sanders was arrested for protesting segregation in public schools when he attended the University of Chicago. That was only the beginning of his fight against racial inequality in America and addresses this issue in four fields: physical, political, legal, and economic. One of the biggest issues outlined in this field is the level of incarceration this nation faces, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many researchers use various methods to figure out all the possible outcomes of the election and what the voters are looking for in a particular year. This year has been unique because of the different personalities that the candidates own. This new diversity has caused researchers to revise their tactics from earlier years. Also, negative political ads for this election year have had some impact on voters. Furthermore, a candidate's religious affiliation will also have an effect on different segments of the population. Finally, in previous presidential elections, divided parties rarely won presidential elections. Will this year have the same end result? Finally, the exact effects caused by these variables can sometimes only be determined byresearch studies. These studies have to be ready to hit the core of the issue affecting the outcome. As a result of increased exposure to foreign cultural groups, as well as a shift towards more educated and skilled immigrants, Americans have become more accepting of immigrants and hold much more favorable opinions towards immigrants than they did before 1965. This change in attitudes towards immigrants was evident in the change in campaigning techniques from the 1968 presidential campaign to the 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns. Schwartz and Troianovski (2015), reporters for The Wall Street Journal, claim that many residents of the U.S. fear that the terrorist group ISIS will exploit this expansion and use it to smuggle terrorists into the U.S. Fears have especially heightened after the 2015 San Bernardino shooting. Although this has not been confirmed to be the workings of a foreign terrorist group (Karimi, Shoichet, & Ford, 2015), American citizens are becoming increasingly in favor of restricting immigration. In a December 2015 survey conducted by the Associated Press, 53% of respondents opposed the Obama administration's plan to admit Syrian refugees into the U.S. and 54% believed that the U.S. takes too many immigrants from the Middle East (Swanson, 2015). While pro–restriction attitudes may cause the number of people immigrating to the U.S. each year outside of the refugee system to decrease, the increasing number of Syrian refugees entering the U.S. in 2016 and 2017 will offset this. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Secondly, I will now talk about the disadvantages of having a partisan election. First, partisan elections cost a lot more money than nonpartisan elections, because in nonpartisan elections you do not have to campaign. The voters must do their own research on the candidates and makes the voter actually think and know why they are going to vote. A bad thing about this though would be time. Not everybody has time to go out and do research on candidates, because most people work eight or more hour shifts at work and then they do not want to go out and do research. Another disadvantage would be I think there is " too much" information out there for the candidates, which ends up confusing the voter instead of benefiting. This makes it harder when coming to vote, so many people will just mark anything because they do not care. These would be one the biggest disadvantages of partisan elections to me in state politics. I will now examine some of last election year's results. Voter turnout has decreased in the past years. There are two main factors that have been coming up in the past years. In the 2012 election between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama, Mitt Romney won all but thirteen counties but lost in majorly in the urban areas where Barack Obama won an astonishing number of the votes. For Donald Trump to stand a chance, he must focus on the rural cities with a large number of Conservative and Independent voters and has a low voter turnout. The number one county Donald Trump must focus on is Sarasota County. Even with almost one hundred and twenty thousand registered republican voters during the 2012 election, Romney still only was able to carry fifty–two percent of the votes in that county. This is a very populated county filled with republican voters who have a low turnout rate in previous elections. Money should be pumped into Sarasota to help increase voter turnout for the Trump Pence campaign. With a large push to get Republican voters to come out and vote Donald could win a bunch of solid votes to offset some of the counties he will struggle in. This year 's' Presidential race has been closely monitored by people from all different demographics. The issues debated will not only have an impact on the United States, but they will have an even bigger impact on other countries all over the world. An estimated 50 million people are projected to vote on November 8, 2016, and 58% of Americans between the ages of 18–24 will be voting in this year 's election. These number can play a huge part in determining who will be the next President of the United States. • 33. The Election Of The Uk In this essay, I will discuss whether elections in the UK are fair. The viewpoint which I will be arguing for is viewpoint two: we need to make some sensible adjustments to elections by, for example, encouraging people to vote electronically in order to discourage fraud but shouldn 't change much else other than that. I will also evaluate the other viewpoints and why I do not believe these viewpoints are the key to making UK elections fairer and more just . As of now, the UK uses the first–past–the–post system in their elections; this means that the candidate with the most votes becomes the MP for their constituency. One sensible adjustment that I believe is necessary is lowering the voting age to 16. Currently, the voting age is 18. I think this makes elections unfair as young adults are being excluded from influencing the decision hence making the outcome of the election affect their lives the most. For example, young adults are massively affected by government education policies, I think they have a right to choose which candidate best represents their views and gives them the opportunity to achieve the best future possible. Some people might argue that 16 and 17–year–olds are not responsible enough to make the right decisions in regard to who to elect; a candidate which would best benefit them in the future . However, some would say that young adults are unaware of the realm of politics and would not be able to make a suitable decision for the country as a whole or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Election System of Bangladesh Election System: A Contrast Between Bangladesh And USA.–Nafis Ujrat MIDN USN Election system is one of the most important features of a country's political system. It symbolizes some inner concept of a political system of a nation. I have chosen election system of US government to discuss and compare with that of Bangladesh. Both of these countries have some unique style of election procedure. That has made it really interesting for the learner of both systems to contrast and evaluate their own respective election system and understand its impact on government. Bangladesh has got its independence on 1971. After that on 1972 Bangladesh got her 1st constitution. Initially according to primary constitution the government was ... A candidate needs at least 270 electoral votes to be elected as a president. The election campaign is really lengthy. The constitution does not give any guide line how to nominate a candidate for US presidential election. The Democratic Party has a nationwide policy for determining candidate. The Republican Party allows each state to determine their own way to select candidate. When Bangladesh was united with present Pakistan, former president of Pakistan Ayub Khan introduced a system of presidential election called Basic democracy. That was almost similar to the presidential election system of USA. But mass people of Bangladesh did not accept that system as the electors were corrupted. They did not reflect the wish of popular vote. So this system did not worked in Bangladesh. In USA the founder father thought that people are not wise enough to elect the right candidate. That is why they wanted to have a system where there will some sorts of control over people's choice of candidates. They also thought people from different states may not agree to on a single person to choose as a president. That is why they felt the requirement to have an election system that will balance the situation. In Bangladesh politics and election are always accompanied by unrest, indecision and sometimes violence. Election system ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. The Election Of The United States None of the Above For the election of the President of the United States of America there should be an option of "No–Confidence" or "None of the Above" as a selection on the ballot because the voters should have the right to indicate that the listed candidates are unacceptable, then the National parties should find and present new candidates that are more acceptable to the American public if neither can win a majority vote. I will explain how the current system for a presidential election is flawed in that if the political parties present candidates for the election which a voter finds unacceptable, the voter is reduced to voting for the candidate that they dislike the least or voting for a third party candidate which they know can't win. In other words, in a two party system, they are voting for the lesser of two evils, or throwing away their vote as a protest on a third party candidate. An option of "None of the Above" could paint a clear picture of growing voter dissatisfaction and encourage the parties to clean up their acts or even force them to present better candidates in new election. In the current system a voter can write in "None of the Above" but few do. They just choose to vote for one of the third party candidates as a protest or a display of dissatisfaction for the candidates presented by the two major parties. This is not only a vote that is thrown away, but is also misrepresents the true voting percentages. For example, let's say that the election shows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As its not very easy to win an election, people spend huge amount of money to just to have candidates vote. But it doesn't work all the time, for example, election which was held between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, amount of money spend by Donald trump was half of the money which was spend by Hillary.
