2. WHAT IS THE HISTORY?
● The history of computing hardware covers the
developments from early simple devices to aid
calculation to modern day computers. Before the
20th century, most calculations were done by
humans.
3. ADVENT OF THE DIGITAL COMPUTERS
-Electromechanical computers
-Digital computation
-Electronic data processing
-The electronic programmable computer

6. I GENERATION
● The first generation of computers covers from 1940
to 1952, although these dates are really commercial
machines since the first computer considered is the
Zuse Z1 of 1938. This generation includes the first
electro-mechanical machines whose main
component was the relay, which were quickly
replaced by the vacuum tubes.
8. II GENERATION
● The second generation of computers from 1958 to
1963 replaced vacuum valves with transistors.
Therefore, the second generation computers are
smaller and consume less electricity than the
previous ones. The communication with these new
computers is through more advanced languages than
the machine language, which are called "high level
languages".
10. III GENERATION
● The invention of the integrated circuit or chip was
produced by Jack S. Kilby and Robert Noyce. Then
he took Ted Hoff to the invention of the
microprocessor, at Intel.
12. IV GENERATION
● The so-called Fourth Generation is the product of
the microprocessor of electronic circuits. The small
size of the chip microprocessor made it possible to
create personal computers. Nowadays.
14. V GENERATION
● The fifth generation of computers, also known by its
acronym in English, FGCS (Fifth Generation
Computer Systems), was a project made by Japan.
Its goal was the development of a new class of
computers that would use techniques and
technologies of artificial intelligence in both
hardware and software.
16. VI GENERATION
● The computers of this generation have combined
parallel/vectorial architectures, with hundreds of
vector microprocessors working at the same time;
Computers capable of making more than one million
million floating-point arithmetic operations per
second have been created
