• How did you use media technologies in the
construction and research, planning and
evaluation stages?
3. Internet
• I used the internet as the main platform of my research. It
helped me look up many example magazines such as Kent Life.
This platform made it very simple and quick for me to
research other regional magazines. Though the internet was
my main source of research, I also purchased a few regional
magazines in order to read through them and get a real feel of
what a regional magazine should consist of, as I believe this
cant be fund through the internet.
4. Furthermore
• I was able to create a viewed list of all the main examples I
used for my front cover, contents and advertisement page.
Doing this established the codes and conventions which
determined the conclusion of my overall production.
5. Messages
• I regularly contacted my focus group on how certain parts of my production looked. This
was a convenient way of getting in contact with my focus group. Messaging my focus group
allowed me to keep them updated repeatedly, and continuously gain feedback throughout
the production of my magazine.
• I used Messages to contact my focus group, I created a group chat with all members of the
focus group. Using messages was a quick and easy way of contacting them. The messages
are instant, so we were able to exchange information effectively and quickly.
6. Blogger
• This was the website I used to publish my production and my
research. It enabled me to record every step I took when
creating my production. The website was easy to use and
extremely convenient. When wanting to edit something on the
blog, I was able to use it freely because of how it was laid out.
Not having blogger would have made the whole process
difficult and complicated.
7. Camera
• In order to take my photos for my regional
magazine, I used my camera to take pictures
for my products. I used a Nikon D3200. As I
have had the camera for a few years I knew
how to use it effectively and without
difficulty. It takes very high quality photos. I
was able to transfer the photos to the
computer very quickly and simply- by using the
SD card input.
8. Youtube
• I watched a variety of YouTube tutorials mainly about
Photoshop. This information helped me edit my photos to a
skillful standard. It was also extremely useful whenever I was
struggling with certain features of Photoshop, I was able to
search for a tutorial, and it would help me learn how to use
the features.. Without the help of tutorials my production
would not be at the standard it is right now.
9. Photoshop
• I used Photoshop in order to help edit my whole production.
For example it helped me add text, adapt the contrast and
brightness of a certain image. Due to experience of using
Photoshop, I found it easy and clear to use, with little
problems. Without the use of Photoshop my production would
not be at a realistic standard.
10. Wix
• Wix is a website creator I used to help me build my website. It
was extremely simple to. I was able to create the whole site,
and edit in my own photos and create a realistic regional
magazine website.
