1. QUESTION 6
‘What have you learnt about technologies from the
process of constructing this product?’

2. Technologies
■ As I have continued throughout my production the amount of
technologies I have used has risen. For my photos I used a camera a
Canon 6ooD.To edit these images I then used Photoshop. And then to
present these edited images I used PowerPoint and SlideBoom. During
which I used Google andYouTube to help me research and learn what to
do and how to do it.

3. Photoshop
■ This task presented a challenge to me right from the beginning, this
challenge being Photoshop. I had only ever used Photoshop once and
that was no where near to the complexity of the production that I have
completed now. I spent a lot of my time watchingYouTube videos on
how to edit and change the lighting, simple things that for me where a
major challenge. Once I had watched these videos I was able to put
what I had seen to use and make my magazine look as good as I could
possibly make it.

4. Internet
■ The internet was the most helpful thing for me during my time working
on the production.The reason it was so useful is because it helped me so
much, during the beginning stages I was clueless on what to do and how
to do it but a couple ofYouTube videos later and a few questions
googled I was ready to go.This helped me to make my final piece look
so much more professional than it would've have been if I had not had
access to the internet.The internet also helped me immensely with
research, by having the internet accessible I was able to have whatever
query I had answered, this made the research for my codes and
conventions very simple and gave me a greater understanding of what I
needed to do and why I needed to do it.

5. Camera(Canon 6ooD)
■ I had never picked up a camera to take proper photos before this task so
I had to learn early on about how to handle and use it. I had to learn
about different settings on the camera and how to change the effects
on it, whereas before I thought it was jus pressing a button and taking
an image I have now learned that its not that simple and to take the
best image it takes time and control.Throughout I had to ask for help as
I was still struggling, I even watched some moreYouTube videos to try
and get to grips with the camera. As time went on I became accustomed
to the camera and how it worked. By gaining this experience and skill it
meant when I was taking photos they looked much more professional
than what they had been looking like, from my codes and conventions I
now know how important the images are and to get the magazine to
look good the image must be spot on otherwise the magazine will not
have the desired impact.

6. Conclusion
■ Technologies have played a major role in how my production has
developed and I feel has really helped my development. A clear example
of this is the way my magazine looks, as without the use of the internet I
would not have been able to research other grime magazines and
compare, I would also not have been able to use Photoshop to a good
enough standard without the help ofYouTube. I wouldn’t even have had
any phots without technologies and I would have definitely not been
able to edit them to a decent standard with out the use of technologies.
