1. The Technology I’ve Used When making my
main product which was my front cover,
contents page and double page spread
2. The technology I’ve
used:
•I used both a Mac and a windows computer as I had access to Mac's at
college and a windows computer at home.
•The only problem with this was I wasn't always sure if my work would
transfer from each computer.
•I found that Mac’s were much easier to use for Photoshop and Indesign
as they had the correct soft ware but the windows computer was better
for accessing my blog.
•On a Mac I learnt to screen shot quickly and easily this meant I was
able to screen shot all of the important parts of my progress and see
how not only my work but my skills were developing.
3. The technology I’ve
used:
•Wordpress is a free blogging website wear you can set up and design your own
blog.
•It was really easy to use and edit on.
•One benefit is that you could go back and edit a post when needed which I
found really helpful
•The blog archive was really helpful as I was able to keep my blogs organised
and easily go back and look at them, ensuring I hadn't missed anything.
•I learnt how I can go through old blogs to re-learn what I did in previous
actions like with Photoshop
•I learnt to embed YouTube videos in to my blogs which I had no idea how to do
before this meant I could easily go back and get more information and tips on
what I had already done to improve what I was going to do.
4. The technology I’ve
used:
•When taking the picture for my magazine I used a professional camera
which was from my college.
•I took the photos in photography suites so the picture came out great as
I could change the lighting and colour background really easily.
•I knew how to use the camera so I didn't have to spend too much time
focusing on that and spent it on taking the actually photos.
•Although I did learn new skills in terms of how to change light settings
and change the different effects on the camera such as exposure and
contrast.
5. The technology I’ve
used:
•I used Microsoft word for a number of tasks I did like setting
out my written blogs, questionnaires and mock drafts. So I
could then add colour and different fonts to make them look
better.
•I also used it to check my spelling for my blog and other tasks
•I also used PowerPoint to help me set out and put my work
into a different form to make it easier to read and look better.
•I've used Microsoft word a lot before so I already knew my
way around which meant it was easier and I could get the tasks
done efficiently.
6. The technology I’ve
used:
•After my photo shoot I had a lot of photos so I thought the best way to
sort then was slide share.
•Slide share is a website that you can upload PowerPoint's on to and you
can add audio and turn it into a video.
•This helped me edit and put all the slides together.
•I've never used slideshare before so it did take a while for me to get
used to the software and work out how to do things but once I did it my
skills defiantly improved.
•I was also able to use it to have some of my blogs in PowerPoint form.
7. The technology I’ve
used:
•Photoshop was probably the most complicated software for me to get the hang of as id never
used it before.
•I defiantly found it a challenge at first but once I had played around and practised with it I
started to understand much more of how to use it and developed the most skills in.
•I went on YouTube to watch different tutorials at the start and throughout my construction
•I used Photoshop for both my font cover, contents and the background of my article and the
skills I learnt from using it were:
•How to use layers in my work
•How to cut and edit photos using tools such as the magnetic lasso
•And all of the effects you can put on a photo and text one I used quite a lot was stroke.
•One skill I learnt was how to link an Indesign document with a Photoshop one this was really
helpful when it came time to do my double page spread
•I really enjoyed learning and working with Photoshop as when I started I had never really
worked with that kind of program before and I learnt how to do so much with it and this really
improved the quality of my work.
8. The technology I’ve
used:
•I used Indesign for my double page spread
•It really helped me to organise my layers as it puts them in a different
colour for each one and you can edit the title so you know which is
which.
•I had never use in design before so I learnt a lot of new skill like how to
put a text wrap around photos and put text into columns.
•Again it was quite complicated at first but after I practiced I got the
hang of it
•A skill I learnt both in Indesign and Photoshop was how to layout text,
fonts and pictures to work together this really improved my work.
9. Overall I would say I developed the most skill in
Photoshop and Indesign as I worked with them for a
lot of my time but I have defiantly learnt more about
how to use software such as slideshare, as well as
develop the skill I already had.
