The Yuma Engineering and Configuration Lead provides engineering expertise and management to support special engineering projects at the Yuma Tactical Training Range. This position oversees engineering staff, ensures systems remain operational, and implements engineering procedures. Responsibilities also include overseeing range integration services, coordinating equipment relocation, and managing configuration control activities. A Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience in electronic systems is required, along with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

The Yuma Engineering and Configuration Lead provides expertise and engineering department management in support of special
engineering tasking for the Yuma Tactical Training Range (YTTR). Provides engineering and configuration management support to
ensure active systems and equipment remain operational and maintainable; inoperable systems and equipment are returned to an
operational condition; and new or mothballed systems are brought to an operational and maintainable condition. Responsible for
engineering personnel supporting other departments with functional and technical knowledge requirements. Directs the efforts of the
engineering staff to accomplish tasks in software and communications engineering, database design, instrumentation, analog hardware,
digital electronics, logistics, reliability, and maintainability. Responsible for development and implementation of standard engineering
procedures. Coordinates engineering activity within the organization with subcontractors and with Government technical
representatives. Provides technical reports on the results of projects. Reports status and progress of engineering tasks to the Range
Manager. Interfaces with the Government engineering representative.
Oversees range integration services to include engineering, manufacturing, construction, installation, operational testing, and
integration of equipment and facilities at all sites to ensure the operation of the YTTR as an integrated system to meet functional
specifications and customer requirements.
Coordinates equipment relocation support to include cost analysis, optimization studies, engineering studies, integration, testing, and
installation in support of range growth or other requirements.
Provides Configuration Management (CM) oversight and management for the YTTR CM activities. Evaluates and monitors all
modifications to equipment or facilities and change requests to improve operability/reliability/ maintainability. Assigns drafting
resources to support Configuration Management and other requirements as they arise. Member of the Change Review Board and the
Configuration Control Board.
Minimum Experience Requirements
Eight years’ experience in electronic and communications systems
Three years’ engineering-related supervisory/managerial experience
Three years’ experience in aircraft or missile telemetry, Testing or Training EW range-related systems or RADAR systems,
including one or more of the following:
o Communication systems
o Telemetry systems
o Acquisition, target tracking, and fire control radars
o Electromagnetic propagation and antennas
o Microwave data transmission
o Data acquisition systems
o RF spectrum analysis
o Computer systems
o Project management
o Technical writing
o Configuration Management
o Proficient in use of computer-assisted engineering and design software
o Proficient in use of Project Management software
The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree and able to obtain Secret Clearance
Ability to speak, read, and write English.
