RELEVANT PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Leadership:
Served as a Signal Squadron Sergeant Major (Senior Enlisted Leader) in a Joint Communications Support Element charged
with providing strategic level support to two Geographic Combatant Commands (United States Southern Command and
United States Pacific Command). Directly responsible for the operational employment, health, welfare, training, and safety of
over 100 subordinate Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines, as well as four government contractors and eight Civil Service
Employees charged with providing Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence, Reconnaissance and
Surveillance (C4ISR) capabilities in support of countless global mission sets.
Proven performer in both combat and home station operations while serving as the Chief Signal Noncommissioned Officer
(Senior Enlisted Leader) in the 75th Ranger Regiment. Responsible for the operational employment, management, training
and professionaldevelopment of over 200 signal, telecommunication, information technology and spectrummanagement
personnelgeographically dispersed across North America; additionally managed 32 General Service Employees and
Contractors assigned to the department. Assisted in the prioritization and management of an annual budget of $6 Million.
Served as the senior communications Noncommissioned Officer for a robust deployed Joint Task Force in Afghanistan;
advised the command on the employment of communication assets that supported over4000 personnel.Additionally,
supervised the ordering and distribution of over $10 million worth of communications equipment utilized to build three Task
Force Headquarters within a three-month period.
Chosen to brief CongressionalStaffers, the Chief Information Officer of the Army and other government officials on the
operational needs of the organization which ultimately influenced the acquisition of newer and more advanced
communication equipment.
IT/Telecommunications Project Management:
Key planner and leader in the execution of several complex multimillion-dollar communications infrastructure installation
and equipment fielding.
Lead planner in the research, design,engineering and procurement of a next generation Special Operations communication
vehicle that has become a future Program of Record for the Army’s General Purpose Force.
Managed a Special Operation Force’s command, control, communications and computers (C4) equipment reset and
refurbishment program; successfully serviced over 2500 items of communications equipment with minimum downtime,
returning the equipment to full mission capable status and reissuing/redistributing it across the organization.
Center of gravity in the 75th Ranger Regiment’s procurement of a new hand-held single channel radio platform. Wrote the
mission needs statement and operational needs statement that led to the platform going into low rate of production,and
eventually into full rate of production and final procurement.
2. Network Management:
Managed information security requirements for certification and accreditation, network operations and protocols, systems
testing and evaluation. Possesses knowledge of performance management methods used to plan and conduct security
accreditation reviews for installed systems/networks.Capable of assessing and advising customers on new or revised security
measures and countermeasures based on the results of accreditation reviews.
Planned and executed a complex High Definition (HD) Video/Data network upgrade. Coordinated the implementation of new
network protocols and provided training to senior leadership and end users.
Managed authorized service interruptions in order to upgrade and/or patch critical systems and infrastructure with minimal
operational impact; uses computers to control and monitor network status in an operational environment.
Planned, developed,coordinated, directed and supervised the installation, operation and management of integrated
telecommunications and information management networks.
Customer Support:
Provided technical advice to commanders, staff, and subordinate units.Coordinated signal activities with higher, lower and
adjacent headquarters.Performed senior signal staff operations to include writing command, control, communications and
computers (C4) policy, procedures,operations plans, orders, and reports.
Identified and eliminated multiple single points of failure in the organization’s network architecture leading to an increase in
the network reliability rate for Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Networks, Secret Internet Protocol Router Networks
and Top Secret services.
Managed the engineering of solutions for physical diversity of primary and alternate circuits both deployed and at home.
Supervised networks, infrastructure and client support services for over 4000 users on 14 networks.
