1. Autumn Term weeks 5+6 1st-17th Dec.
Dear Parents,
At last, December is here and our Christmas festivities begin in pre-school. We shall be making decorations and making our room look bright and beautiful. Our home corner will become a Christmas home as we decorate the tree and think and talk about about cooking Christmas dinner. We shall also be using the dressing up clothes as we pretend to be characters from the Nativity story.
Activities we will be doing in pre-school:
Continuing practising our Christmas songs (words on the back of this sheet)
Making Christmas decorations to decorate our rooms (and yours). Watch out for the glitter explosion!
Playing the ‘Izzy’s island’ game on the computer in which children have to identify bottles by their size and colour e.g the tall one, the wide one or the blue one. This also develops the children’s concentration as they have to listen carefully for the instructions.
Activities to do at home with your child:
Continue talking to your children about colours, there are plenty of opportunities now that the Christmas decorations and lights are going up.
Sing our Christmas songs and rhymes.
Help them decorate their Christmas card (which we will be sending home this week) for pre-school which we can then display on our wall.
Notices:
You should all have had a letter to explain our Christmas arrangements. If you haven’t received one of these, or there is any confusion, please speak to your child’s key person.
Pre-school now has it’s own Facebook page. We will use this to keep you informed or updated with any events. Don’t worry if you don’t use it, we will still be sending letters out as well. No pictures of children will be posted on this page.
We break up for Christmas on Wednesday 17th December and return on Monday 5th Jan 2015!
